Montana: No “folf”Anyone who’s driven through Montana has inevitably wondered, “how far could I throw a Frisbee over the plains?” Those who seek answers, avoid Helena; it is illegal to play “folf” (that’s “Frisbee golf”) anywhere not deemed a sanctioned “folf course.” Curiosity could cost you $500 or six months jail time.

Nebraska: No marriage if you have VD
Technically, no person afflicted with a venereal disease may get married in Nebraska. Meanwhile, state officials are still unable to get a green-light for their new TV show, Law And Order: VDU.
Nevada: Be selective with X-rays
Say what you will about the vice and commercialism of Las Vegas—at least they’re looking out for your feet. In Nevada, it is illegal to use an x-ray device to determine someone’s shoe size.
New Hampshire: No seaweed collecting
In New Hampshire it is forbidden to collect seaweed from the beach at night. Yes, it’s unfair, but you should’ve thought about that before becoming a nocturnal sushi chef.
New Jersey: No murder while wearing a bulletproof vest
It’s against the law to murder someone, but in Jersey it’s double against the law to murder someone while you’re wearing a bulletproof vest. See if you can follow along: wearing a bulletproof vest while committing or attempting to commit a crime of the first degree, is a crime of the second degree.
New Mexico: Redefining indecent exposure
Let’s take a break to focus on what’s not illegal: walking around with your butt out. In New Mexico, “indecent exposure” is defined as “intentionally exposing [one’s] primary genital area to public view.” Buttocks are nowhere to be mentioned.
New York: Sales tax for sliced bagels
If you order a sliced bagel in New York City, fuhgeddabout a square deal: “altered” bagels (sliced, toasted, or served with cream cheese, etc.) carry an eight-cent sales tax. Uncut bagels are typically tax exempt.

North Carolina: Be careful with your doggie bag
Be careful what you put in your doggy bag: In North Carolina it is a felony to steal more than $1,000 worth of grease, and a misdemeanor to steal under $1,000-worth. Grease theft, it turns out, was a huge problem in NC before this 2012 law passed, with midnight grease-bandits persistently preventing Biodiesel companies from purchasing restaurants’ excess oil to convert into fuel.
North Dakota: No late-night fireworks
Happy almost New Year! Despite a 1999 amendment allowing the sale of fireworks temporarily from December 26, 1999 through January 1st, 2000, it is illegal to set off fireworks after 11p.m. in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota.
Ohio: Toilet paper in coal mines, please!
Operators of underground coal mines must provide “an adequate supply of toilet paper” with each toilet. It’s too bad the letter of the law here stops at coal mines.
In Oklahoma it is illegal to promote, engage in, or be employed by a “horse tripping” event. Also, it is unlawful to wrestle a bear… but at that point, the law is the least of your worries.

Oregon: No “tests of physical endurance” … while driving
It is considered a speed racing offense in Oregon if you participate in any “test of physical endurance” while on the highway. Sorry, y’all: No more seeing how long you can work the steering wheel with your teeth.
Pennsylvania: Bingo is only for non-felons
Fool me once, shame on you: No person convicted of a felony may operate a Bingo game in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
Rhode Island: Don’t impersonate an auctioneer
Rhode Island “false personification” laws deem it unlawful to impersonate an auctioneer. Choose your Halloween costume accordingly.
South Carolina: No working (or dancing!) on Sundays
Good news: In South Carolina it is still illegal to work on Sundays! Bad news: it is also illegal to dance on Sundays. Fans of work and/or footwork will both be happy to hear, these antiquated laws are in the process of being repealed.
South Dakota: Fireworks approved to help with farming
Farmers in South Dakota have the green-light to set off fireworks or explosives to protect their sunflower crops… so long as they are six hundred sixty feet away from the nearest church, home, or schoolhouse.

Tennessee: Permits for panhandling
Panhandlers in Memphis must apply for a permit before panhandling. Formerly, this formality cost the destitute $10. Today, it’s free.
Texas: Keep litter on aircrafts
It is illegal in Galveston, Texas to throw litter out of an aircraft. Besides, using the blue bins is so much easier.
Utah: No missiles in bus terminals
Hurling a missile into a bus terminal is a felony—unless you are an appointed officer of the peace or commercial security personnel (see: mall cop.)
Vermont: Clotheslines, be gone
Vermont passed a law just to say there would never be a law prohibiting the use of clotheslines. Good to know.
In Prince William County, it is illegal to keep a skunk as a pet. Man, the law stinks.

Washington: No Sasquatch poaching
It is illegal to poach a Sasquatch in at least two Washington counties. In 1991, Whatcom Country declared its roughly one million acres of land an official Sasquatch Protection and Refuge Area, giving our nation its first Bigfoot Sanctuary. If Bigfoot exists, lawmakers reasoned, it would be an endangered species, and therefore in need of protection. For this reason, Skamania County has considered Bigfoot-poaching a felony since 1969—still punishable by a $1000 fine.
West Virginia: No drones for bird hunting
In West Virginia it is illegal to use a drone “or other unmanned aircraft” to hunt birds. While you’re out in the woods, you’d better not use a ferret instead of a hunting dog; that’s a $100 fine right there.
Wisconsin: Better make that butter delicious
Giving credence to its reputation as “America’s Dairyland,” Wisconsin law demands that all cheese and butter produced in the state be “highly pleasing.” Oh, and cows have the right-of-way on highways.

Wyoming: Don’t buy junk from a drunk
Like Mama always said, “don’t buy junk from a drunk.” In Wyoming, purchasing scrap “metals, rubber, rags or paper” from an intoxicated person is prohibited.

some states are common law states still, right?
you don’t have to do anything to be “married” except be together for a length of time (7 years?)

Not sure. I recall that some were. Common law ‘marriage’ may give legal rights to the women and children who come out of those relationships.

From 2020: “Common Law Marriage — Common law marriage is allowed in a minority of states. A common law marriage is a legally recognized marriage between two people who have not purchased a marriage license or had their marriage solemnized by a ceremony. Not all states have statutes addressing common law marriage. In some states case law and public policy determine validity.
States With Common Law Marriage:
Colorado: Common law marriage contracted on or after Sept. 1, 2006, is valid if, at the time the marriage was entered into, both parties are 18 years or older, and the marriage is not prohibited by other law (Colo. Stat. §14-2-109.5)
Iowa: Common law marriage for purposes of the Support of Dependents Chapter (Iowa Code §252A.3) Otherwise it is not explicitly prohibited (Iowa Code §595.1A)
Kansas: Common law marriage will be recognized if the parties are 18 or older and for purposes of the Divorce and Maintenance Article, proof of common law marriage is allowed as evidence of marriage of the parties (Kan. Stat. §23-2502; Kan. Stat. §23-2714)
Montana: Not strictly prohibited, they are not invalidated by the Marriage Chapter (Mont. Stat. §40-1-403)
New Hampshire: Common Law Marriage: “persons cohabiting and acknowledging each other as husband and wife, and generally reputed to be such, for the period of 3 years, and until the decease of one of them, shall thereafter be deemed to have been legally married.” (N.H. Stat. §457:39)
South Carolina: allows for marriages without a valid license (S.C. Stat. §20-1-360)
Texas: Common Law Marriage in specific circumstances (Tex. Family Law §1.101; Tex. Family Law §2.401-2.402)
Utah: Utah Stat. §30-1-4.5
Not all state statutes expressly allow for common law marriages. In Rhode Island, case law recognizes common law marriages. Oklahoma’s statute requires couples to get a marriage license; however case law has upheld common law marriages in the state.”

“Do You Need Blood Tests to Get Married?
Almost all states in the U.S. have dropped any blood-test requirements before getting married. The only (partial) exception is New York, which requires that Black and Latino applicants for marriage licenses take a blood test for sickle cell anemia. The law allows religious exemptions, and the results of the test won’t affect anyone’s ability to get married. (N.Y. Dom. Rel. Law § 13-aa (2022).)
In place of mandatory blood tests, some states require that applicants for marriage licenses read a brochure or pamphlet that includes information about inherited and sexually transmitted diseases (such as AIDS), as well as how to get tests for those diseases.”

Re: Sally’s Dad:
Sally’s Dad, who has been in the hospital since Saturday 5/20/23, is now in the ICU. Youngest daughter and Son in Law (who is on staff at hospital) are taking turns staying with him.
He was not doing or looking well when I went by the hospital yesterday to pray for him. I’m not 100% sure he really recognized me.
At Sally’s insistence, I had returned to town for a medical appointment.
In retrospect, he really needed to be in the ICU from the beginning….but his symptoms were vague, they did an MRI thinking it was a stroke, but there was no sign of a stroke in the report which was read a day later – only his blood saline was low – but they didn’t give him saline until the end of the day. As impressive as the hospital’s care for Sally has been during her health crises – this time it has been disappointing.
Hoping and praying he is a lot better today.

Oh, my! It was 56 here when I got up this morning – they are predicting almost 90 next week!!! Low-to-mid 80’s for today, with some rain off-and-on thru tomorrow into Friday, which is good. It’s time! I spend a couple of weeks every year flipping between heat at night and a/c from noon ’til sunset. I didn’t turn the heat on last night but it was still 72 inside when I got up. Like I’ve said before, in summer, this house holds heat – sure wish it worked that way in the winter!!! LOL
Most of my WM order is now out for delivery so I can re-stock the woodpecker feeder with the Pennington seed bricks. They don’t contain as much suet as the smaller squares – and it is firmer, not so soft – so the blackbirds don’t get after it as much – they can destroy one of the 4″ squares in about 15 minutes! I DESPISE those birds…sorry, but it is what it is! Not the red wings or red-headed ones, tho – they don’t destroy everything they come across! And they don’t look so evil and arrogant!
My Impatiens in the front bowl are blooming and, scraggly tho they may be, one of the vincas planted in front of the porch is actually blooming, too! They haven’t died yet….

LET’S VOTE DESANTIS AND GET BACK TO “NORMAL”
Yeah, for sure, let’s just roll everything back and it will be Bush politics as usual. That’s what they want. It’s what they’ve always wanted. And Ron DeSantis was the key. Let me tell you why Trump went after DeSantis.. DeSantis made a bunch of promises to support Trump when the time came even possibly being his running mate if only he (Trump) would throw political weight and his endorsement behind him. In 2020 DeSantis met with Murdoch who promised him if he ran against Trump he would throw the weight of Fox News behind his campaign .. Trump gets word DeSantis is now being groomed by Rove, Bush, Paul Ryan & Murdoch to run for President .. These are people who behind the scenes were working with key Dems and RINO’s like Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, the Lincoln Project, The FBI, The CIA, and others who had sworn to bring Trump down. So you tell me; If someone did this to you would you be nice to them?

Something else that crossed my mind…hell, who knows when – today? yesterday? IDK! Anywho….all of those media empires, like Fox Media Group, should be REQUIRED to inform the viewing public of their corporate affiliations. Example: I noticed that for the first time, as far as I’m aware, Jessie pointed out the fact that The New York Post is ALSO owned by the Fox Media Group/Murdock, i.e., they are affiliated, i.e., will spout the same overall viewpoint. I never knew that about the NY Post, did you???

So, the Nazi U-Haul driver who crashed into a bollard at Lafayette Park was an Illegal Alien?
Driver of U-Haul that rammed White House gate is not a U.S. citizen, prosecutors say
WASHINGTON — The man accused of ramming a U-Haul truck into barriers near the White House earlier this week isn’t a U.S. citizen, authorities said Wednesday.
Sai Varshith Kandula, a 19-year-old from suburban St. Louis, wore an orange jail-issued jumpsuit in his brief courtroom appearance when prosecutors requested pre-trial detention.
A government prosecutor told the court that Kandula is not a citizen or lawful permanent resident.
A college student who was on the same high school track team with Kandula told NBC News on Tuesday that they’re both members of the sizable Indian American community in Chesterfield, Missouri.

On Day He Announces For President,
Governor Ron DeSantis has signed SB7050, notoriously known as the ‘Election Fraud Legalization Act’, because it removes reports that have proved massive election fraud enabled by the ‘free state of Florida’.
The decrease in transparency is particularly of concern in light of the recent discovery of thousands of blank voted ballots in Broward and other counties for Florida’s last major election. These generated an unbelievable 10% or more blank ballots cast as previously reported.
Excerpts:
Why is the requirement for a voter to return an address confirmation request being eliminated? (See line 328)
Why does the bill eliminate sending an address confirmation final notice when there is no response from a voter to an address confirmation request? (See line 301)
Why is duplicate registration data received from another state or entity so confidential that it should not be subject to Florida Open Government Sunset Review Act? (See line 347)
Why is there no longer a requirement to produce voting history within 30 days after election certification? (See line 817)
How can voter secrecy be fragile that the systems must falsely report the votes by ballot type as zero when there are less than 30 voters for the ballot? (See line 949)

well of course, it’s an fib related person
FTA
Earlier this month, an FBI whistleblower told the Washington Times the FBI identified the vehicle the suspect entered shortly after planting the bombs but has not pursued the individual.
“The FBI had surveillance video that showed the person entering a car with a visible license plate after exiting a Metro stop in Northern Virginia,” the Times reported.
Kyle Seraphin, a former FBI agent who worked on the case, told the paper that the agency “tied whoever the person was that dropped the bombs with [surveillance] cameras all the way through the train and getting into a car with that license plate.” Seraphin also told the Washington Times that the two bombs were inoperable.
“One former FBI assistant director observed, ‘[i]t just doesn’t add up … there’s just too much to work with to not know who this guy is,’” the Judiciary Republicans wrote.
Now lawmakers are seeking answers over the status of the investigation. Julie Kelly, a senior writer at American Greatness, wrote in February last year that the pipe bomb incident possesses the markings of “another FBI hoax.”
“As the FBI successfully rounded up hundreds of Capitol trespassers using sophisticated tools such as geofence warrants, the trail of the pipe bomber went cold,” Kelly reported, despite federal law enforcement having posted a $50,000 reward, which they later increased to half a million dollars. “Given what we know about the FBI’s politically motivated malfeasance during the Trump era, the likelihood the pipe bomb story was another FBI hoax instead of a legitimate threat becomes more conceivable each day.”

hmmmm….her name and photo are still on the list???

could she be a FED informant???
FTA
California resident Megan Dawn Paradise—who urged protesters to charge up the Capitol’s east steps on Jan. 6 before stealing an autographed baseball from the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)—testified about a fellow Californian to the FBI, leading to two criminal charges being filed against the man.
The FBI used information supplied by Paradise, 33, of Los Angeles, in a statement of facts supporting Jan. 6 criminal charges against Eric S. Christie, 56, of Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Paradise was placed on the FBI’s Jan. 6 most-wanted list as No. 9, but was never arrested or charged. Her name and photo are still on the list.
Christie is about to stand trial in Washington on charges of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a dangerous weapon, and disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly weapon. The deadly weapon in question was a carpenter’s hammer hanging from his belt.
Carolyn Stewart, Christie’s defense attorney, said her client never entered the Capitol and was unaware of Paradise’s provocateur actions on the afternoon of Jan. 6.
Paradise is also on the radar of Joseph McBride, a defense attorney for Richard “Bigo” Barnett, 63, of Gravette, Arkansas, who faces more than seven years in federal prison for what McBride called much the same behavior as Paradise on Jan. 6.
“Do I think that she is working with the government? To some extent, absolutely,” McBride told The Epoch Times. “We’ve always believed that. It’s unexplainable that she went in and essentially did what Richard Barnett did and she hasn’t been prosecuted.” The Epoch Times has no information to suggest that Paradise was working for or with the FBI on Jan. 6th.

Our Take: “‘The Wheat State,’ ‘The Heartland,’ ‘America’s Breadbasket.’
If you’ve just driven through Kansas, you probably remember it as flat and windy. But the Sunflower State plays a critical role in America’s — and the world’s — food supply. According to the state’s agriculture website, ‘Kansas is ranked first in grain sorghum production, growing almost 64% of the nation’s crop. Kansas is ranked second in sorghum for silage production. Kansas leads the nation in winter wheat production, growing 24% of the nation’s crop. Kansas is ranked third in cattle production and beef processing.’
Now, Kansas is also home to National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF), a Level-4 biolab with maximum biocontainment. The completion of the facility was celebrated on Wednesday.
The new facility replaces the Plum Island biolab off the coast of NY, a location strategically chosen to ensure the lab’s highly dangerous research wouldn’t affect the homeland. Both Plum Island and NBAF are owned and operated by the US Department of Homeland Security. The decision to move the nation’s most dangerous research into the middle of the US food supply has puzzled Americans since it was first announced back in 2008. But government rarely listens to citizens’ concerns and here we are, awaiting the drop of the next deadly pandemic.
My money is on that mushroom zombie thing from The Last of Us.” — Ashe in America

so my wm story.
there had been a group of 4 spanish men (about 25-30 yr old) in wm every wednesday (when we go at least) for months now. (they could be there other times, who knows…) there could be other spanish people there at other times, i don’t know.
i didn’t pay much attention tbh.
but with all the illegals coming in…i have started.
there is a truck in the parking lot–same white truck–every time we go with Texas license plates.
these 4 are decently dressed–no dirty or ripped clothes–they look like college students–wealthier college students–only a little tooo old.
they only speak spanish and only to each other.
when I first noticed them, they were quiet–speaking in low tones–and only to each other.
last evening, the one was on the phone with a female–both speaking loudly and he was parked in the middle of an aisle and when i tried to get around him, he ignored me–so I backed out of the aisle and came in from the other direction.
when another cashier opened up, she waved to them to come in her lane—they shook their heads no and waited for the self check out to be open.
so she waved us over. she overheard me say to hubby, that was weird. she looked at me and said–they never pay cash, you know what i mean? (i shrugged…)
then she said–they’re always in groups of 4. always 4 guys.

DeSantis came out of the gate talking tough about the FBI, BUT – He isn’t going to get away with saying things like this without completely condemning the total bastardization of our federal criminal justice system that’s focused on destroying and taking out his opponent.
DeSantis and his pseudo-conservative Bush Bro. handlers are going to stand around with their thumbs up their asses and not say a damn thing about what they’re trying to do to the former president & front-runner, which will kill any chance they have of ever winning over the people he needs to win in the general election…..and there’s the rub for Ron.
Don’t insult the intelligence of the conservative base like democrats have been doing to their constituents for the past half century, Ron, that might be your plan, but it ain’t gonna work.

DeSanctus already made his views on the FBI perfectly clear in the hours and days following the Mar-a-Lago raid last Summer. Ronald DeSantis stands with whatever he’s told to stand with at the time. Everything else is just smoke-blowing.

THAT absence of response told me Everything I needed to know about Ronda & I’m just as certain that DJT was paying attention.

i want to hear from actual Floridians how they feel about rhonda lying to them…that would make an excellent campaign ad for REALPOTUS
he’s still traveling and covering up who’s footing the bill for that.
and who’s taking care of HIS state and constituents while he’s playing candidate?

So … Meatball calls President Trump a “Draft Dodger” …
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12122575/Navy-vet-DeSantis-says-draft-dodging-Trumps-insults-pale-comparison-military-sacrifices.html
DeSantis just joined the most vicious, rabid, leftist Democrats who call President Trump: “bone spurs”. What a total FRAUD. I’m starting to believe DeSantis filmed his military service for future political gain … like John F. Kerry

Happening now:
Richard “Bigo” Barnett, the man who put his feet on Nancy Pelosi’s desk on 1/6, has been sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and 3 years of supervised release. Federal prosecutors were asking the judge for 7 years in federal prison. These are the same prosecutors who haven’t charged a single person in the Russian collusion hoax.
Barnett stated that he only sat in her office with his feet at the desk after request from reporters who just wanted a picture. A White House photographer captured the picture. The FBI won’t release the footage or names of undercover agents and yet the judge decided this man received a fair trial.
America is broken. Rules for us, none for them. This is why people like Donald Trump win. We’re sick of it

I’ve been a busy, busy little bee….A bounty of goodies this morning! My ISP sent me 2 additional power cords, one of which is exactly the same kind that has been dealing me fits. But until I start to lose the connection again, I am on an unlimited plan so I can just leave it connected, whether I’m on or not. When the issue arises again – and I have no doubt it will – I will switch to the simpler power cord.
I also received my Trump for President 2024, Save American Again flag and it is now flying proudly on the front of my house! Yeah!!! I was kind of disappointed, tho, since it is only printed on one side but that’s ok – it shows thru! And a SHIT TON of bird seed and suet! I shouldn’t have to buy the seed again this summer since I ordered a 40 lb bag this time!
In between, I’m chasing off those nasty, dastardly black birds!!!

always nice to receive goodies in the mail!!
what are the blackbirds doing?

Tearing up the danged suet – they can go thru a 4″ square in a 1/2 hour or less – I’ll be doing something and hear them squawking and there will be 4 of them fighting over it! I HATE those suckers!!! They should leave the woodpecker block alone – it’s more seed than suet – they usually do. I ordered 10 of the 4″ square suet – less than $2/ea – and will put them out over the garden beds – hopefully, that will keep them off of the woodpecker block, which costs over $5 ea.

As you can see by the faded spots, my house desperately needs to be repainted but….oh, well!

I do believe the Clematis will make it to the top of the ladder this year and I just can’t see how I could possibly add another plant there:

The further down the campaign trail the comedic Desantis Clown Car purposely drives … the more I am further convinced Desantis and Donald Trump are actually cooperating.
Laugh and scoff all you want but the truth is right in front of us.
How does the friend of Donald Trump, a Brilliant and Popular MAGA Governor, et al from 2019-2021 (even here on CTH) … suddenly flip a switch to become the comedic villainous foil to President Trump??? A Robert Ludlum novel could be written on this one, which would rival the comedy of Ludlum’s “Road to Gandolfo” and “Road to Omaha” (both novels involve allot of legal shenanigans as well as the Federal Courts and deep state by the way).
Based on the demonstrated low info mentality of people running the Uni-Party and their media buddies as well as somewhat blind desires of the financial puppet masters … This may be the only path to have Donald Trump survive to November 2024 and actually be elected.
