  1. Morning All!
    it’s not even 40* outside this morning…brrrr.
we had a tragedy last evening at the house–2 hummers chasing each other hit our glass door. I ran to see what had happened and there were 2 tiny hummers lying lifeless on the deck. I backed away and let them alone–sometimes they just knock themselves out for a few minutes.
But I kept checking on them and they were gone. The last time i looked though, one just up and flew away–the other was clearly gone. we waited another 15 minutes but it was dead, so hubby moved it off the deck.

    1. Good morning! That sucks! Sometimes that happens – one late summer afternoon a few years ago, the barn swallows came from the barn across the street right before sunset, chasing bugs, and one of them flew into my front window. He flew off ok, tho. It is 52 this morning – it was rainy off-and-on well into the night. It’s not light enough to really tell but it looks cloudy at the moment. Oh, my, those makeshift grills! What ingenuity, eh? ROFL

  3. this bill will create yet another useless agency–so in effect just GROW the damned gov’t bureaucracy…
    entire article
Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA-30) just introduced his Equal Health Care for All Act, which he claims will assure “equitable health care for all Americans.” This bill belongs in the garbage bin, asap.

Equitable is derived from latin, aequus, meaning equal or same. Rep. Schiff thus intends to legislate the same health care — i.e., same medical care — for all 330 million Americans. Do we all need identical care?

A healthy 35-year-old male and a healthy 35-year-old female do not need the same care, viz., the male has no need for pregnancy care. A healthy 35-year-old and a 35-year-old diabetic most assuredly do not need the same care. A healthy 80-year-old who rides a bike 25–50 miles a week (this author) does not have the same medical needs as an 80-year-old with chronic lung disease and congestive heart failure.

Health care cannot be equitable unless all individuals have the same genetic make-up, similar environmental risk factors, identical diet and exercise, and equal luck in the cancer lottery. Since sickness is inevitable and unavoidable, if equity or sameness were the true goal of healthcare, everyone must be equally sick.

It is ludicrous to attempt to legislate the same medical care for all people.

Schiff’s bill will actually harm patients. The average maximum wait time to see a primary care physician in Albany is 122 days. Schiff would require all patients to wait the same 122 days. If one patient needs the antibiotic chloramphenicol, must this drug be given to all patients? There isn’t enough chloramphenicol on planet earth to do this, never mind the cost.

The bill is based on the erroneous assumption that disparities in medical outcomes are caused by care providers and that Congress must hold doctors’, nurses’, and therapists’ feet to the fire to assure that all patients are treated without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. But the vast majority of providers already do this. Outcome disparities are not primarily due to biased care providers. Socio-economic factors, especially poverty and poor education, are the main culprits. If Schiff truly wants to eliminate medical outcome disparities, he should legislate economic prosperity and educational achievement for all Americans.

(That is just as impossible as legislating the same medical care for all.)

Schiff’s bill intends to make equal access to health care a protected civil right, but that is impossible as well as unconstitutional. A civil right means political and social freedom: it embodies the U.S. founding principle that all Americans have a right to choose for themselves.

Medical care is the personal service or work product of a professional care provider. One person — a patient — cannot have a “right” to another’s individual’s — a provider’s — personal service or work product, unless, that is, if you take away the provider’s freedom. Making health care a civil right is unconstitutional.

The Equal Health Care for All Act would create a new federal agency called the Federal Health Equity Commission. This is just what Americans need and want: a new healthcare agency in Washington — another one that provides no care! But, like the rest of the healthcare bureaucracy, this commission would steal money from patient care to compensate administrators, agents including insurance and IRS, bureaucrats, compliance officers, consultants, lawyers, managers, oversight officials, regulators, rule-writers, and a host of others who never touch a patient.

Last year, the U.S. healthcare system consumed 4.3 trillion taxpayer dollars, nearly equal to entire GDP of Japan. Thirty-one to more than fifty percent of that massive expenditure, roughly two trillion dollars, could have paid for Americans’ medical care and instead went to bureaucracy. Schiff wants to take even more money away from care to create another unnecessary Washington bureaucratic dollar-devourer.

As more money is diverted from care to bureaucracy, wait times will go from months to years. American death-by-queue will become the norm: people who die while waiting in line for care they can’t get in time to save them.

Finally, there is Adam Schiff’s credibility when saying things like, “all Americans deserve equitable health care.” This is the same man who for two years kept announcing, “I have ample evidence of Trump’s collusion with Russia.” He never produced this fictitious evidence.

The Equal Health Care for All Act is worse than a travesty. It harms all Americans by reducing access to medical care. It treats people as though they were all the same. It does nothing to address health outcome disparities, and is unconstitutional. Schiff’s bill should be discarded as quickly as possible, so Congress can stop wasting precious time and discuss real solutions to our very real problems: inflation, crime, our fractured, polarized society, border crisis, loss of trust in great institutions, and international tensions.

They are all corporations, most listed on the stock exchange…..like I said, waaaay too complicated for me to figure out, especially when you add on how math-challenged I am on top of everything else! See, this goes back to when we changed from a true Constitutional Republic, functioning under Common Law, to Corporate Law with the Act of 1871.

  4. “Witness says she went back to ‘thank’ Daniel Penny after Jordan Neely chokehold death, is ‘praying’ for him”
By David Propper and Joe Tacopino
    May 12, 2023 12:06am Updated

EXCERPT: “A straphanger who was on the subway when former Marine Daniel Penny placed Jordan Neely in a fatal chokehold said Thursday she’s “praying” for Penny after it was revealed the 24-year-old would face charges tied to the high-profile case.

“I hope he has a great lawyer, and I’m praying for him,” the 66-year-old woman, who did not want to be identified, told The Post Thursday night. “And I pray that he gets treated fairly, I really do. Because after all of this ensued, I went back and made sure that I said ‘Thank you’ to him.”

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office confirmed Thursday afternoon Penny would be charged with second-degree manslaughter. He is expected to surrender to authorities Friday morning.

The subway rider said Neely, who had a history of mental illness, was threatening passengers after he hopped on an F train in Manhattan. “He said, ‘I don’t care. I’ll take a bullet, I’ll go to jail’ because he would kill people on the train,” the woman said of Neely. “He said, ‘I would kill a motherf—er. I don’t care. I’ll take a bullet. I’ll go to jail.’”

The retiree said Penny did not initially engage with Neely during the wild rant until things got out of hand and he felt the urge to step in.”

    1. Badlands Media – Our Take: “Every week, new information comes out about Good Samaritan Daniel Perry’s fateful actions on that train. Last week, new video emerged that showed Perry placing Neely in the ‘recovery position’ and shows Neely still breathing. It was also reported last week that, the night before his death, Neely was threatening to push strangers onto the tracks.

This is not insignificant, as this year has seen 26 passengers pushed onto tracks — and two of them died. Now, there are witnesses debunking the state’s claims. Neely had a criminal history with more than 40 arrests, he was well-known to the subway riding community, and he was threatening to kill passengers on the train.

Daniel Perry is a decorated US Marine who stood and acted to protect those around him while taking every precaution to ensure Neely’s safety. The media is not publishing any of these exculpatory details, but rather painting Neely as a darling, Perry as a murderer, and celebrating the Marine’s arrest.

There are really only two likely outcomes: (1) Perry gets wrongly convicted of murder and unjustly punished for his heroic actions, or (2) NY burns to the ground (due to the resultant protests in his acquittal.)

That’s “justice” in 2023 America.” — Ashe in America

  5. From Brandon Straka:

    Dear Patriots,

First of all- I’ll be appearing on NewsMax twice today. I’m on National Report at 11:15am, then on American Agenda at 2:30pm. Please tune in!

I just wanted to send a brief reminder of the various balls I’m juggling because I’m sure it may seem sometimes like I’m less present than I used to be. If you’re not aware, I am being sued by a Soros-funded nonprofit out of DC who found 8 black and brown Capitol police officers to claim that I am responsible for them being injured on January 6th, and they sued me under the KKK Act. 2 of the 6 counts against me have been allowed to proceed forward. The last few weeks have been very intense with lawyers and hearings, and that is unfortunately going to continue for some time.

I’m also offensively filing 4 lawsuits of my own: against MSNBC, and a variety of other bad actors, for defaming me, and in some cases engaging in intentional actions to try to harm me. These lawsuits are also very time intensive, and require a great deal of my focus and my presence for decision making.

In addition to this, I have to manage my development team for the new platform myself. Many of these guys are on the other side of the world, so I take meetings with them in the middle of the night. I manage my Foundation team during the day, and we plan the events and initiatives we have coming up for the next 1.5 years to try to save this country from forces of destruction.

And in between everything, I search for time to create and edit videos, create content, engage with all of you who I love so very, very much; and I spend countless hours fundraising to pay for my defensive and offensive legal warfare and to keep the organization and new platform above water.

Due to my probation (3 years of supervision by the DC courts), my ability to travel on a moment’s notice is no longer possible. I have to request permission to travel outside my state, which takes time, which means I can’t rush to go to the scene of something that is breaking anymore to capture footage or interview people like I did before. So the interactive content I film now has to be more scheduled and planned out.

This isn’t like it was 4-5 years ago when my time could be dedicated to doing our events, doing media constantly, bouncing from here to here to here. I worry constantly that you all will think that I’m not as dedicated as I once was, or that my focus has shifted. It hasn’t. In fact, after all that’s happened the last few years my mission doesn’t just feel necessary to me, it feels crucial. If we don’t win this culture war, everything that happened to me could happen to you. We can’t let that happen.

I just wanted to share this with all of you. I’ll never stop fighting- and I never do… even if you aren’t seeing it all the time as much as you used to. Sending you all a lot of love, and hoping for some in return. Please allow patience and grace as I grapple with all that is in front of me. As long as we stay united, supportive, and stand by one another- victory will be ours in the end.

    All my love,

Well, every time I fill the 10″ dish, I don’t fill it to the brim and it’s raised in the center – I’m using the base/cage from the original big feeder that got busted in the storm a couple of years ago. I put about a 3″ X 3″ swath all around the outside edge of it so they can reach it w/o going inside the cage. Still, that takes one full plastic bottle every time and it takes about half a jar to fill that bottle. I’ve had to refill it 3 times in just the last couple of days, which is the most I’ve ever had to do before. They are spreading the word, apparently! LOL

As New York City deals with a massive influx of illegal immigrants, Mayor Eric Adams on Thursday said he was asking a judge to revisit the city’s sanctuary city law.

“The law of sanctuary city was in place long before I became mayor. I’m following the law. As a law enforcement person, you know, we follow the law,” Adams said. “We are now in court now, today, asking the judge to revisit this law to deal with this humanitarian crisis because, even when they decided to put in place that law, no one thought they would be dealing with a humanitarian crisis of this proportion.”
