Three Mile Island Accident

The accident in 1979 at the Three Mile Island nuclear power station that was the most serious in the history of the American nuclear power industry. The Three Mile Island power station was named after the island on which it was situated in the Susquehanna River near Harrisburg, Pa. At 4:00 am on March 28, an automatically operated valve in the Unit 2 reactor mistakenly closed, shutting off the water supply to the main feedwater system (the system that transfers heat from the water actually circulating in the reactor core). This caused the reactor core to shut down automatically, but a series of equipment and instrument malfunctions, human errors in operating procedures, and mistaken decisions in the ensuing hours led to a serious loss of water coolant from the reactor core. As a result, the core was partially exposed, and the zirconium cladding of its fuel reacted with the surrounding superheated steam to form a large accumulation of hydrogen gas, some of which escaped from the core into the containment vessel of the reactor building. Very little of this and other radioactive gases actually escaped into the atmosphere, and they did not constitute a threat to the health of the surrounding population. In the following days adequate coolant water circulation in the core was restored.

The accident at Three Mile Island, though minuscule in its health consequences, had widespread and profound effects on the American nuclear power industry. It resulted in the immediate (though temporary) closing of seven operating reactors like those at Three Mile Island. A moratorium on the licensing of all new reactors was also temporarily imposed, and the whole process of approval for new plants by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission was significantly slowed for years after the accident. No new reactors were ordered by utility companies in the United States from 1979 through the mid-1980s. The accident increased public fears about the safety of nuclear reactors and strengthened public opposition to the construction of new plants. The unharmed Unit 1 reactor at Three Mile Island did not resume operation until 1985. The cleanup of Unit 2 continued until 1990; damage to the unit was so severe, however (52 percent of the core melted down), that it remained unusable.

Additional details from the This Day in History website:

At 4 a.m. on March 28, 1979, the worst accident in the history of the U.S. nuclear power industry begins when a pressure valve in the Unit-2 reactor at Three Mile Island fails to close. Cooling water, contaminated with radiation, drained from the open valve into adjoining buildings, and the core began to dangerously overheat.

The Three Mile Island nuclear power plant was built in 1974 on a sandbar on Pennsylvania’s Susquehanna River, just 10 miles downstream from the state capitol in Harrisburg. In 1978, a second state-of-the-art reactor began operating on Three Mile Island, which was lauded for generating affordable and reliable energy in a time of energy crises.

After the cooling water began to drain out of the broken pressure valve on the morning of March 28, 1979, emergency cooling pumps automatically went into operation. Left alone, these safety devices would have prevented the development of a larger crisis. However, human operators in the control room misread confusing and contradictory readings and shut off the emergency water system. The reactor was also shut down, but residual heat from the fission process was still being released. By early morning, the core had heated to over 4,000 degrees, just 1,000 degrees short of meltdown. In the meltdown scenario, the core melts, and deadly radiation drifts across the countryside, fatally sickening a potentially great number of people.

As the plant operators struggled to understand what had happened, the contaminated water was releasing radioactive gases throughout the plant. The radiation levels, though not immediately life-threatening, were dangerous, and the core cooked further as the contaminated water was contained and precautions were taken to protect the operators. Shortly after 8 a.m., word of the accident leaked to the outside world. The plant’s parent company, Metropolitan Edison, downplayed the crisis and claimed that no radiation had been detected off plant grounds, but the same day inspectors detected slightly increased levels of radiation nearby as a result of the contaminated water leak. Pennsylvania Governor Dick Thornburgh considered calling an evacuation.

Finally, at about 8 p.m., plant operators realized they needed to get water moving through the core again and restarted the pumps. The temperature began to drop, and pressure in the reactor was reduced. The reactor had come within less than an hour of a complete meltdown. More than half the core was destroyed or molten, but it had not broken its protective shell, and no radiation was escaping. The crisis was apparently over.

Two days later, however, on March 30, a bubble of highly flammable hydrogen gas was discovered within the reactor building. The bubble of gas was created two days before when exposed core materials reacted with super-heated steam. On March 28, some of this gas had exploded, releasing a small amount of radiation into the atmosphere. At that time, plant operators had not registered the explosion, which sounded like a ventilation door closing. After the radiation leak was discovered on March 30, residents were advised to stay indoors. Experts were uncertain if the hydrogen bubble would create further meltdown or possibly a giant explosion, and as a precaution Governor Thornburgh advised “pregnant women and pre-school age children to leave the area within a five-mile radius of the Three Mile Island facility until further notice.” This led to the panic the governor had hoped to avoid; within days, more than 100,000 people had fled surrounding towns.

On April 1, President Jimmy Carter arrived at Three Mile Island to inspect the plant. Carter, a trained nuclear engineer, had helped dismantle a damaged Canadian nuclear reactor while serving in the U.S. Navy. His visit achieved its aim of calming local residents and the nation. That afternoon, experts agreed that the hydrogen bubble was not in danger of exploding. Slowly, the hydrogen was bled from the system as the reactor cooled.

At the height of the crisis, plant workers were exposed to unhealthy levels of radiation, but no one outside Three Mile Island had their health adversely affected by the accident. Nonetheless, the incident greatly eroded the public’s faith in nuclear power. The unharmed Unit-1 reactor at Three Mile Island, which was shut down during the crisis, did not resume operation until 1985. Cleanup continued on Unit-2 until 1990, but it was too damaged to be rendered usable again.

The Weird Part:

On March 15, 1979, twelve days before the accident, the movie The China Syndrome premiered and was initially met with backlash from the nuclear power industry, claiming it to be “sheer fiction” and a “character assassination of an entire industry”.

In the film, television reporter Kimberly Wells (Jane Fonda) and her cameraman Richard Adams (Michael Douglas) secretly film a major accident at a nuclear power plant while taping a series on nuclear power. At one point in the film, an official tells Jane Fonda’s character that an explosion at the plant “could render an area the size of the state of Pennsylvania permanently uninhabitable”.   After the release of the film, Fonda began lobbying against nuclear power. In an attempt to counter her efforts, Edward Teller, a nuclear physicist and long-time government science adviser best known for contributing to the Teller–Ulam design breakthrough that made hydrogen bombs possible, personally lobbied in favor of nuclear power. Teller suffered a heart attack shortly after the incident and joked that he was the only person whose health was affected.

there’s frost on the deck this morning; temps are about 25*

I find it beyond ironic that so many movies “predict” future events…

    1. Morning! Temp here is 21 at the moment but it should get into the mid-40’s today. We’ve got some rain coming in later, supposedly, that may turn to some snow overnight but it won’t last long in any case.

Apparently things are clicking into high gear.

IRS Targets Twitter Files Journalist Matt Taibbi! IRS Agent Showed Up Unannounced to Taibbi’s Home on Same Day He Testified Before Congress

On March 9, Matt Taibbi dropped a Twitter Files ahead of his testimony to Congress: THE CENSORSHIP-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

The weaponized IRS also showed up to Matt Taibbi’s home on March 9 in an effort to intimidate him.

Taibbi told Jim Jordan that an IRS agent showed up unannounced to his Jersey home and left a note for him to call the tax agency….

Why did the IRS just show up to Matt Taibbi’s home?

No letter. No phone call to his tax preparer.

The IRS agent just showed up to the journalist’s home unannounced!…

…The taxman left a note instructing Mr. Taibbi to call the IRS four days later. Mr. Taibbi was told in a call with the agent that both his 2018 and 2021 tax returns had been rejected owing to concerns over identity theft.

Mr. Taibbi has provided the committee with documentation showing his 2018 return had been electronically accepted, and he says the IRS never notified him or his accountants of a problem after he filed that 2018 return more than four-and-a-half years ago.

He says the IRS initially rejected his 2021 return, which he later refiled, and it was rejected again—even though Mr. Taibbi says his accountants refiled it with an IRS-provided pin number. Mr. Taibbi notes that in neither case was the issue “monetary,” and that the IRS owes him a “considerable” sum.

While ⁦@mtaibbi⁩ & I were testifying before Congress on the weaponization of the federal government, an IRS agent showed up at his house. What an amazing coincidence https://t.co/gRGSIa3HRr

  9. so his big witness was a publisher at the National Enquirer? LOL
    entire article
NEW YORK — Former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker testified Monday before the grand jury examining Donald Trump’s alleged role in paying hush money to a porn star, according to a news report and related photograph.

A POLITICO reporter viewed a photograph of Pecker and his attorney exiting the courthouse Monday afternoon after The New York Times wrote about the testimony.

A spokeswoman for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Pecker’s attorney, Elkan Abramowitz, also didn’t immediately comment.

Monday was the first time in a week that the grand jury heard evidence in the Trump case. The panel was called off Wednesday and then examined an unrelated matter Thursday. The delay prompted a fiery response from Trump, leading some Democrats to rally around Bragg on Monday morning.

Bragg’s investigation is centered on a $130,000 payment facilitated by Trump’s former fixer, Michael Cohen, and made to the porn star, Stormy Daniels. The adult entertainer alleged she had an affair with Trump and considered selling her story to the National Enquirer, at a time when Pecker was the tabloid’s publisher, according to federal prosecutors. Instead, Cohen paid Daniels directly, a step he told a court he took “in coordination with and at the direction of” Trump.

Trump has denied the affair and any wrongdoing with the payment.

Pecker previously testified before the Manhattan grand jury examining the Trump investigation, according to a person familiar with the matter. It wasn’t clear why he was called back to provide further testimony. Before the publisher, the grand jury heard from Robert Costello, a former legal adviser to Cohen, who is the prosecution’s central witness in the case.

EXCERPT: “The mother of the Nashville school shooter who killed six people – including three 9-year-olds – appeared to be a gun control activist who once urged friends on Facebook to sign a petition calling to keep firearms out of schools.

“So important!” Norma Hale wrote in a March 8, 2018 Facebook post as she shared the petition that stated “Keep Guns Out of School” that appeared to be from the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation. The webpage’s domain to the petition did not appear to exist anymore. In another post from Feb. 21, 2018, Hale shared another petition from Sandy Hook Promise urging lawmakers to “Make Large-Capacity Gun Magazines Illegal.”

Hale’s adult child, Audrey Hale, carried out Monday’s horrific mass shooting at The Covenant School Monday morning. The 28-year-old, believed to be a former student at the small Christian school, was carrying at least two assault rifles and a handgun, police said.

In various other Facebook posts dating back several years, Norma Hale, who appeared to work at a Nashville-based church, The Village Chapel, as a coordinator, gushed over her two children for various achievements and milestones.”

  11. Take note: “member of Latinos for Trump”

“Update: After Judge Kelly rules that the FBI informant cozying up to defendants and their family members and repeatedly contacting at least one defense attorney wasn’t doing anything untoward, her role as informant is ‘irrelevant’ to jury. Defense then drops her as a witness,” she reported. “Some records related to this informant are under seal and will never see the light of day,” she reported. “Plus, she told CNN she was hired as an informant in April 2021 to ‘mostly’ report on Antifa. But she ingratiated herself with PB and relatives after they were charged. No reprimand…”

The New York Times has identified the female source as Jen Loh, a former member of “Latinos for Trump.” Loh, the FBI confidential source, reportedly had 20 to 30 communications with Biggs, his attorney, Norman Pattis, said at the Thursday hearing. Loh said in a Friday interview that she provided “useful information” about leftist protestors to the FBI, and then informed the bureau about “any type of domestic terrorism — on the right or the left,” the NYT reported. FBI San Antonio Special Agent Kristina Spindel swore in a Thursday statement Loh had given the FBI information as far back as fall 2019.

Pattis told presiding Judge Timothy Kelly the defense was “very close to a stipulation on as many as eight or nine other” FBI sources. “There was a complex network of confidential human sources at the government’s disposal,” Pattis said. “My biggest concern is the fact that we still have confidential human sources who are unknown to us, ” Rehl’s lawyer, Carmen Hernandez, said.

But Judge Kelly shot down a defense subpoena Tuesday for Proud Boys member Kenneth Lizardo. Kelly ruled that Lizardo had “a reporting relationship with the FBI” and had declared his intention to plead the Fifth if called to testify.”

EXCERPT: “France24 and the Wall Street Journal (paywall-free link) report that the EU abandoned its much-ballyhooed transition to electric cars, which was supposed to culminate with a total ban on gasoline cars in 2035.

The EU’s reversal allows “the sales of new cars with combustion engines that run on synthetic fuels,” which sounds very environmentally friendly. But synthetic fuels are similar to gasoline or diesel, so the decision allows internal combustion cars to continue being produced.

This transition was announced with a lot of pomp:

The transition was supposed to go on for 13 years after its announcement in 2022 but was abandoned only a year after its adoption. What happened? Prodded by climate activists, the EU was pressured to ban fossil fuel vehicles and replace them with battery-powered vehicles. The problem is that such a transition is impossible:”

  14. From Badlands Media: “Our Take: “This isn’t the first time a transgender person has been involved in a violent malicious assault. Unfortunately, what we could consider a mass form of Manchurian candidate ops has been pushed onto our children, through a segmented and compartmentalized operation. The components are disintegrated, distributed within society in parts that are hard to detect in their isolated form.

Consider this analogy: A clandestine globalist terrorist group could send a single bomber into a building with a pre-made device. But the problem with this is that the bomber has the device upon entry, which means the security checkpoint could find the bomb and put an end to the operation. Instead, the bomb could be broken up into innocuous components, assembled by the bomber or an accomplice the day of the bombing so as to better guarantee a successful operation. This disintegrated approach is widely used by the globalists and their allies.

In this case, the components of the operation were installed into our society decades ago. First, a secular culture was carefully installed into the judeo christian fabric of the United States.

Second, which required the first, acceptance of LGBTQ+ lifestyles was installed, combined with the Third—rigidification of social norms for women, moving toward increasingly “pin up girl” beauty norms that tend to exclude portions of the female population due to diversity of body and beauty types. At this stage, a growing population of disillusioned young girls and young adult women that have bought into the alt-life style has occurred. Second and third-wave feminism’s entrenchment into our culture marked this milestone.

Fourth, antagonism between the conservative culture and the LGBTQ culture must be fomented.

Fifth, mass endorsement of the LGBTQ culture occurs at a corporate and government level, effectively certifying the alt-life style, causing large portions of the female gender-confused population to buy into the alt-life style. Gay marriage marked this milestone. ‘

Sixth, destroy free speech and devalue diplomacy as a solution to social division.

Seventh, reduce the LGBTQ+ and POC issues to binaries of acceptance or rejection—those who accept are “ingroup allies” those who reject are “out-group enemies.” Equate the outgroup with those who espouse the most toxic positions, such as phobes, Nazi’s, racists, murderers, etc.

Eighth—this occurs alongside the fourth—foment mass acceptance of transgender people, equate lack of acceptance with rape, murder, and genocide.

Ninth, use news media, popular rhetoric, social media, and fictional media to subtly encourage violence and activism as a solution to combat traditionalists who are defending their culture against cultural assault.

Tenth, fuel division and antagonism by enacting laws in pro-conservative states (like Tennessee), thereby making all those who live in these states feel as if their lives and identities are coming under assault, with the same vigor as the Nazi’s persecuting the Jews.

All of these elements were in place for this event to happen in Nashville.

Now that it has happened, copy-cat-style events will likely take place, in addition to media suppression of these stories so as to effectively encourage and install within the culture a left-wing transgender martyrdom ideology—ensuring that as time goes on, more and more trans women—who are more aggressive due to the hormones they take—will weaponize and engage in more acts of “self righteous” martyrdom for the “cause of trans-rights.”

The cultural warfare methods are insidious, destructive, and, unfortunately, so well entrenched in our society, it will take at least a generation to identify them, and likely another to fully address them.” — Justin Deschamps”

“Buy now, pay later explodes in grocery — The percentage of online transactions involving groceries where shoppers opted to delay payment grew 40% during the first two months of 2023, according to data from Adobe.”
    Published March 23, 2023

EXCERPT: “Online grocery shoppers are turning to buy now, pay later (BNPL) programs offered by retailers at a blistering pace as they cope with turbulent economic conditions, according to Adobe Analytics data released Wednesday.

The percentage of online BNPL transactions involving groceries grew 40% during the first two months of 2023, the fastest pace among the retail categories Adobe studied. By comparison, the home furnishings sector’s share of BNPL orders rose 38% during the same period, while the apparel category’s share moved ahead by 8%. The electronics sector, meanwhile saw its share of the BNPL market decline at a 14% clip, Adobe said.

The grocery industry’s growing representation in a sector of the economy often associated with big-ticket purchases suggests that consumers are looking to get better deals by buying larger quantities of goods at a time, Vivek Pandya, lead analyst of Adobe Digital Insight, said in a blog post.

“The rise of buy now, pay later usage for groceries tells us that consumers are likely making bigger purchases online to take advantage of special promotions and stock up on staples, thus managing living expenses in more flexible ways,” Pandya said.

According to Adobe, the percentage of online purchases where shoppers chose BNPL as the payment method rose 10% in January and February compared with that period in 2022, but revenue for those transactions was down 19%. By contrast, the share of e-commerce transactions where people used BNPL to pay was up 14% in 2022 on a year-over-year basis, while BNPL revenue grew 27%.”

  23. “Domestic Terrorism Targeting Christians Is Fine…Because It Will Make Conservatives Shut Up About Kids Transitioning Their Gender”
    Brian Cates

EXCERPT: “I was scrolling Jack Posobiec’s Telegram feed this morning when I realized there was a theme that was emerging. See if you can spot the theme:

“The media is already framing this as dangerous for the trans community when a Christian school was just shot up and Christian children killed. The whole justification for banning the alt-right off the internet was that their ideas could lead to people justifying violence. Hysterical trans people are now organizing to commit acts of terror and against an imagined genocide invented by popular leftist YouTubers like Vaush.”
    ——————
They’re about to spend all this week crafting a narrative where TRANS CHILDREN not being allowed to transition are THE REAL VICTIMS of this Christian school massacre. Thoughtless people placing inhumane obstacles in the path of children who wish to have their breasts or genitals surgically altered forever are “creating trans terrorists” and it would really be a good idea for these people to STOP creating trans terrorists.

GET. LOUD. BE. PROUD. DON’T BACK DOWN. Stand in the gap. MAKE THEM ASHAMED THEY ARE EVEN ATTEMPTING TO LAUNCH THIS STUPID NARRATIVE. “THE CHRISTIANS AND ANYBODY ELSE GETTING IN THE WAY OF GENDER TRANSITIONING CHILDREN HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR IT!”

Probably not a narrative you EVER thought you would have to push back on, but here we are. Get busy.

They Are Going To Endorse Trans Terrorism Because They **CAN’T** Rationally Debate The Position Of Letting 12 Year-Olds Transition — Now some of you are actually gonna struggle even now as you watch the surreal turn events are going to take this week after this TN Christian school massacre. They all saw what Matt Walsh did to anybody who attempted a rational policy debate defense of what they’ve been allowing in harming these kids. They know if this continues down the path of having to **rationally argue** for this in the state houses and legislatures, they’re going to lose. So the game plan is changing on the fly.

Far from decrying this act of violence in committing a mass murder targeting Christian school children, you’re about to watch the UniParty and the Fake News and the Corporations all say with one smothering voice that it’s time to SHUT UP about kids transitioning and just GET OUT OF THEIR WAY and let them ‘compassionately’ facilitate it. OR ELSE. Or else WHAT? They’ll lose more rational debates to Matt Walsh? No, that’s not what’s next on their agenda. Or else the ‘dangerous rhetoric’ of those speaking out against cutting off kid’s body parts will inspire MORE trans terrorist attacks like the one we all just witnessed.

THEY ARE ALL ABOUT TO DIRECTLY ENDORSE DOMESTIC TERRORISM that targets those opposed to transitioning children. They want to **deliberately** remove this issue from policy debate by saying “We can’t allow the policy debate to continue because it’s causing acts of terrorism!” They’re going to say we all have to instantly capitulate to the demands of those threatening violence.”

      1. Indeed, it is! And someone on Fox earlier actually brought up the fact that the parents are partially at fault – how could they NOT know she had 7 rifles secreted around the house???? They only thought she had one gun and that she had sold that.

~ 19:30 The day Matt Tiabbi addressed congress THE IRS RAIDED HIS HOUSE to try and keep him from testifying. — (I think he got another GIANT red pill.)

~24 min Start talking about the Christian School Shooting.

56:30 talk of Sandy Hook. Alex Jones got sued Wolfgang ?Halbing? did a lot of research early on and made several of the claims Alex repeated. They went after Wolfgang and he was arrested and is in prison. Another guy who was just doing research on the internet was ALSO ARRESTED with $50,000 bond. WTF??? (Zak is not sure the last guy was convicted.)

Zak then says the subject [False Flags] is DANGEROUS. [WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH??]

@ 57:25 Zak shows a VIDEO of the Shooter driving into the parking lot. Audrey Hale who was 28 is driving a Pirus. She shoots thru the door and then there is video in the hall ways.

@ 1:00:25 Photo of Haley as a little girl. She was a very pretty blond girl.

One of the children killed was 9 year old daughter of Scruggs, Pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Nashville which is affiliated with the school.

@ 1:02:20 Then there is an old news paper clipping about a pedo preditor covered up by the SAME church (Via Kate Awakening)

    There are SIX victims.
    The teachers killed (3) ages 60, 60, 61. (666)
    Children killed (3) ages 9, 9, 9 (6 inverted)
One of the commenters points out the ADDRESS is 333 Burden Hills, Nashville

@ 1: 09:30 One of the people in the comments knew the family of one of the children killed.

    Here is the newspaper story:

Church Accused of Covering for Molester
    KEVIN LESSMILLER / October 24, 2013

NASHVILLE (CN) – A Presbyterian church covered up for a “confessed child molester,” and “in cult-like fashion” put children in the molester’s so-called “safe house,” a family claims in court.

Austin Davis and his daughter Daisy sued the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Nashville and its parishioner Dale Lewelling, in Davidson County Court.

Lewelling is not the alleged molester. The Davises claim Lewelling “assaulted the plaintiffs in an open hallway filled with people” during a period of turmoil at the church.

Austin Davis said in an interview that the alleged assault in the hallway came after he attended a class as a former member of the church.

“I got separated from my daughter and they were telling me I was breaking the law,” Davis said. His daughter was a minor at the time.

In the lawsuit, Davis claims that on 👉 July 14, 2008, “the defendants quietly accept[ed] the resignation of the confessed child molester, 👈 John Perry, from the Covenant Diaconate, with Lewelling recorded in the board minutes as being present in the room.”…

So 15 years ago the Child Molester RESIGNED…
Haley was aged 13 in 2008 when this guy resigned.
Haley TARGETED the 9 year old daughter of the pastor.

Silly Wild Ass Guess — (Not from Badlands. They do not make the connection although Kate might have.)

Any bets Haley was a VICTIM of this Child Molester.
Any bets she COMPLAINED AND WAS IGNORED?
Any bets she was ENRAGED the guy got off with just resigning?
Any Bets she transitioned BECAUSE she was molested?
Any bets she repudiated Christianity because of the hypocrisy?

    1. Hmmm…..I did NOT know about the previous guy! That put’s a whole different picture on this! I get so frustrated with people who just carte blanche believe that just because a church follows the scripture, they are good in all ways…..that is sooooo not true!

        1. All denominations have, Pat – I do think it is more prevalent in the Catholic faith because of the stricture against marriage for priests. But as I experienced first-hand, it is wide-spread in the Lutheran church as well. And we won’t even bring up Mormonism or Islamism!

    2. I just read the shooter considered another Christian school – but it had too much security – so she chose the Covenant school.

Audrey Hale was free to be gay, lesbian, transgender, to have a hysterectomy, a sex change operation, cosmetic surgery, get a man’s hair cut, wear clothes from Jos A Banks and change his/her/their name/names any time she wanted. Her rage was driven by a Leftist news media that told her she was a victim and couldn’t force or manipulate your grandchildren into being mutilated because of the Christian Religion!

  26. REALPOTUS HAS TAPE of Mar-a-lago raid.
    FTA
“I have the right to take stuff,” he said. “I have the right to look at stuff, but they have the right to talk and we have the right to talk.”

“This would have all been worked out. All of a sudden, they raided Mar-a-Lago,” Trump continued. “Viciously raided Mar-a-Lago.”

“I have tape, and I gave them tapes, you know I gave them tapes of storage areas there, I gave it to them,” he said. “I could have held that back. I wasn’t holding anything back.”

“But you know that tape they don’t want me to reveal?” Trump asked. “They’ve asked me and I’ve so far adhered to it. The raid itself.”

“Wait a minute,” Hannity interjected. “I’ll take that tape. I’ll air that tape,” he said, offering to show more previously unseen footage as his fellow Fox News host Tucker Carlson did when he aired excerpts of the January 6, 2021 surveillance video from the U.S. Capitol that blew a smoking hole in the regime’s deceptive narrative of the fateful day’s events.

“But no, I have tape but they think it might be dangerous because of the faces and everything else, and I understand that,” he continued. “But I have tapes of the raid, and the raid is terrible.”

“The way they treated people is terrible,” Trump said. “They treat people like they’re a foreign country enemy.”

  27. more taxpayers’ monies going abroad–this time to “support” young climate activists…what does that even mean besides another grift headed by samantha power

    entire article
President Joe Biden’s U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) last year released its 2022-2030 climate strategy, which outlines a $150 billion “whole-of-Agency approach” to building an “equitable world with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.” Included in that effort is a pledge to support “behavior change and communications campaigns” that “encourage youth’s active participation” in the climate movement. Young people, the agency says, “have emerged in recent years as key actors … in demanding government action to tackle the climate crisis,” prompting USAID to increase its funding for “youth-led organizations” working to fight climate change in at least 40 partner countries.

Still, that effort comes with challenges. While young people make great climate activists, they also experience “a broad range of climate-related mental health conditions,” according to the agency’s strategy document. Any effort to support young climate activists, then, must also include support for “programs at scale that address these issues.” USAID’s strategy document specifically calls to recognize the “growing importance” of young people suffering from “eco-anxiety,” which the American Psychology Association describes as “the chronic fear of environmental cataclysm that comes from observing the seemingly irrevocable impact of climate change.”

The USAID plan reflects Biden’s government-wide mandate to fight climate change. Just one week after taking office, Biden in January 2021 issued an executive order calling on all government agencies to “combat the climate crisis with bold, progressive action.” Even the Department of Veterans Affairs responded in August 2021 by releasing a “Climate Action Plan,” and USAID—which had not released a new climate strategy since 2012—followed suit roughly a year later.

At the heart of the agency’s climate strategy is a concern over increased energy consumption in developing nations, which USAID says will grow by 70 percent in the next three decades. In order to avoid the “longer-term emissions trajectories” that come with that energy consumption growth, the agency says it must promote green energy and elevate young climate activist voices in “emerging economies.” For Daniel Turner, founder and executive director of energy advocacy group Power the Future, such a strategy “punishes the developing world by refusing them to have what we have, which is the prosperity that comes from fossil fuels.”

“It’s just horrifying to think we spend tax dollars, giving it to poor countries, to create more Greta Thunbergs,” Turner told the Washington Free Beacon. “There’s nothing charitable about that—if anything, it’s the epitome of first world privilege.”

USAID did not return a request for comment. The agency says it exists to provide “timely and effective humanitarian response,” especially through “disaster relief and lifesaving assistance amidst complex crises.” In many cases, however, the agency’s money supports more controversial causes.

In November, for example, Biden’s USAID announced a $78,000 grant to a Palestinian activist group whose leaders praised a man who murdered a U.S. military attaché and participated in a celebration for a Palestinian terrorist group. The agency in late 2021 also sent millions of dollars to EcoHealth Alliance, the research group that funded bat virus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Biden in January 2021 tapped former Obama aide Samantha Power to head USAID. Power quickly touted her work “helping countries adapt to a warming climate” and later said climate change is “sexist” because women are “much more likely … to be killed by natural and climate disasters.” USAID’s climate work has seen Power travel the world—in March, the Democrat filmed a correspondence from a Vietnamese fish farm, where she said farmers are “already feeling the effects of climate change.” Power also met with Iraq’s foreign minister in February, not to discuss issues such as ISIS terrorism, but to praise the nation’s “ongoing work to address climate change.”
