Maybe you go all out for St Patty’s Day, like the person above did with decorating the whole door or maybe you’d rather be a little more low key. Here are 3 very easy and cute ideas for St Patty’s day crafts. The first one requires a clean jar, some felt scraps, ribbon scraps, a hat (these can be purchased at any place that has St Patty’s decorations), a button and some orange colored candies. Easy Peasy!

Here’s a thrifty idea!  We all save small plastic containers (for leftovers and whatnot). Take a small tub bowl with lid and paint it green. Add construction paper for a hat band and buckle and add a construction paper shamrock.  Fill with rollos or chocolate gold coins!

And what’s St Patty’s Day without some gold! You can paint rocks to look like gold nuggets, or you can be more creative if you choose to be.

How about THIS for an easy decoration? Buy GREEN Mason jars! (Mason jars CAN be used for just about everything! lol)

So your St Patty’s decorations can be festive AND easy…but there’s always that one house…

    A non-passenger train derailed in Clark County, Ohio on Saturday evening, Fox News Digital has confirmed.

    According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, emergency personnel and hazmat crews responded to the train derailment on State Route 41 and Gateway Boulevard near the Clark County Fairgrounds at approximately 5 p.m. on Saturday.

    It is not known at this time if anything was on the train at the time of the derailment. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the train was not a passenger train.

    Oh dear Lord…. This is profound!

    It’s an appeal for Liberty and Justice For All.

    We currently do not have Justice For All in the USA – BLM and Antifa, looting, burning, carjacking, assault and many other crimes are not punished, criminals are set free.

    Yet, patriotic Americans, because they are America First MAGA Trump supporters, are being held without trial and without equal justice.

    Note – President Trump doesn’t dominate or overshadow or impose his picture or ego – but gives the J6 Prisoners equal billing and the last word.

    There’s no political announcement or anything promoting Trump.

    This is because our real President is a true patriot. He cares about these falsely held political prisoners, and all citizens and for our country – for the USA!!!

    When someone harms or destroys a bald eagle in this country, the federal penalties are swift and draconian. Like it or not, it’s the law.

    But there seems to be an exception to it now: When the perpetrator is an illegal.

    Breitbart News reports this story:

    Federal authorities have not yet brought criminal charges against two Honduran nationals who allegedly shot and killed a bald eagle in Nebraska to eat it for dinner.

    On February 28, Stanton County sheriffs arrested two Honduran nationals found carrying a dead bald eagle after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle outside of the Wood Duck State Wildlife Management.

    According to a press release issued by the Stanton County Sherrif’s Office:

    On Tuesday afternoon at about 4:00 p.m. the Stanton County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle just northwest of the main Wood Duck Recreation Area that is located about three miles southwest of Stanton. The vehicle was located in a field and while having contact with the two males it was determined that they had a dead North American Bald Eagle in their possession. Further investigation revealed that the two had shot and killed the protected national bird in that area and stated they planned on cooking and eating the bird. Nebraska Game and Parks was contacted and took custody of the eagle and the rifle used to kill the eagle.

    The two individuals, 20-year-old Ramiro Hernandez-Tziquin and 20-year-old Domingo Zetino-Hernandez, spoke no English and only carried documents from the Honduran consulate as a form of identification, according to Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger.

    So there they were, all set to cook and eat the national bird for dinner. It calls to mind that over in Venezuela, the locals took to eating zoo animals to stave off hunger. But these guys apparently had money for an expensive gun, which rather suggests that the motive wasn’t exactly hunger. The U.S. bird is an internationally well-known symbol, and well, illegal border crossers do what they want.

    It actually calls to mind the ‘conquest’ mentality of many Honduran illegal border crossers, entering the U.S. illegally, waving the Honduran flag, and flashing the middle flag, such as this group I wrote about here. I took this television screen shot in 2018:

    Or the Honduras illegal alien known as “Lady Frijoles,” who had gratitude problems. For a small country, Honduras sure has a lot of memorable illegal immigrants.

    Now we have the bald-eagle eaters, and the most critical element of this story is that the federal authorities seem to be hesitating to prosecute them, even though, as Breitbart notes, many Americans have been sentenced to a year in jail and draconian fines for violating the 1940 Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.

    It calls to mind that over in San Francisco, another group of Honduran illegal aliens, who were professional drug dealers, and went unprosecuted or saw their charges cut down to minor crimes — precisely because of their illegal status. Then-district attorney Chesa Boudin explained that he wouldn’t prosecute these fentanyl dealers on the maximum charges, despite an objective reading of the harm they had done, because it could result in their deportation. That exemption from prosecution for Honduran drug dealers is still going on in that city, with a recent move by one supervisor to reverse that drawing a big brouhaha.

    San Francisco’s mayor, London Breed, was forced to apologize for pointing out that a large number of her city’s drug dealers were Honduran. This wasn’t about the facts let alone the law. Identity politics and sanctuary cities top those things.

    Seems that the feds are acting on similar logic in witholding prosecution for the Honduran miscreants, and too bad about the bald eagle shot down for supper.

    It points to a double standard for the law, the triumph of illegals over law itself — and the Honduranization of the U.S. system of law, with one set of laws to enforce for laaw-abiding Americans, and another set for illegal aliens.

    If these characters don’t get the book thrown at them by the feds soon, it’s time for congressional hearings. Identity politics, migrant politics and sanctuary claims should never top actual U.S. rule of law.

  16. those “free lunch” programs during covid? i never understood that. kids were HOME…homes with kids got gov’t cv $$–erbody got something. so they couldn’t buy food for their kids with that? and I know teachers (who were still getting paid) who took advantage of the free lunch programs–because “they’d just throw out the lunches if they weren’t claimed”…

    Published two days ago at Vox, North penned a report on the end of a federally funded student lunch program and lamented its end. What initially caught my attention was her continued use of a particular word: free. She opened her essay with this:

    In 2020, when schools across the country closed to slow the spread of Covid-19, federal lawmakers did something unprecedented: They decided to pay for free lunch for every public school student in America, every day, no questions asked. Millions of children rely on free or reduced price meals at school[.] …

    The effect of the free meals was dramatic.

    Um, I thought misinformation/disinformation was a crime?

    First of all, “federal lawmakers” didn’t “pay for free lunch” for anyone — they spent money America didn’t have, and saddled the already overburdened taxpayer (like you and me) with additional debt. How much, you might ask? Well, $11 billion per school year, according to North.

    Wondering what Ms. North’s ingenious solution is? (Spoiler alert: more spending.)

    But there’s a simple fix, education and nutrition experts agree: make universal free school lunch permanent.

    (Apparently, she’s never heard the expression, “There’s no free lunch.”)

    Left-wing journalists can’t seem to grasp that government programs operate thanks to heavy taxation and whirring machines at the mint. They fail to understand that nothing is “free,” and lawmakers don’t “pay” for anything — and they really are that out to lunch (no pun intended) regarding the economic collapse that an ever-expanding welfare state invites. Yet they expect to be treated as trustworthy and intellectual. Only in Bizarro World, right?

                hubby and i discussed barn cats–my son in law, the farmer, has several. we only have a wood shed–like a carport–open on the ends and i would feel terrible about a cat being out in the cold! (and i would feel worse having it in the house…LOL)
                we got snakes–they made peace with the mice apparently. they have parties, laugh at me, and generally prefer the frogs.

    Fifteen suspects were arrested for stealing over $38 million from low-income Southern California families.

    The suspects targeted funds disbursed through CalWORKs and CalFresh programs, which “help low-income beneficiaries purchase food and provide for basic needs,” said the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

    In total, over $38.9 million was stolen from victims’ EBT cards for the food stamp program, officials said.

    A large-scale operation resulted in the arrest of 15 suspects, many of whom authorities say are Romanian nationals.

    Over 300 law enforcement officers monitored 20 ATM locations across the Los Angeles area during the investigation.

    The suspects used “cloned” cards to fraudulently withdraw money. Cloned cards are “debit cards, gift cards or other devices with magnetic strips that have been encoded with information from legitimate EBT cards,” officials explain.

    Investigators recovered 429 cloned cards containing state-issued EBT information.

    Some of the withdrawals were obtained through skimming devices installed on ATMs, officials said.

    On Feb. 2, three suspects were arrested for allegedly withdrawing funds from ATM machines in Hollywood and Tarzana using cloned EBT cards, officials said. All three were charged with aggravated identity theft, unlawful use of unauthorized access devices and possession of 15 or more unauthorized access devices.

    On March 1, 11 Romanian national suspects were arrested on charges of EBT access card fraud with losses totaling over $1,000, which is a federal felony.

    “By stealing public benefits using counterfeit EBT cards, the defendant in these cases plundered the accounts of some of our community’s poorest residents — people who need these benefits to survive,” said United States Attorney Martin Estrada. “These actions are part of a larger assault on the EBT system, one which has caused tens of millions of dollars in losses”

    “The Los Angeles Police Department started the investigation into the fraudulent withdrawal of benefits in August 2022, and the United States Secret Service soon after joined “Operation Urban Justice” as a joint partner,” said the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

    The case remains under investigation by the U.S. Secret Service and the LAPD.

    A union representing employees of the Social Security Administration has demanded that the Biden administration kill a new “pronoun policy” geared toward transgender workers, saying it forces political views on members.

    American Federation of Government Employees Local 2505 filed a Union-Management Grievance Friday over a policy announced internally on Wednesday called the “Policy on Prohibiting Discrimination, Including Harassment, Based on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, or Gender Expression,” which the agency calls the Pronoun Policy for short. The union, which represents 600 low-level employees in Oklahoma and Arkansas, said the policy changed restroom access, the dress code, and “created a new form with the employee’s name, gender identity, pronouns.”

    “All of the changes are violations of Article 1, Section 2 as they changed existing terms and conditions of employment,” the grievance said. “Having made these changes without advanced notice and the opportunity to bargain, in addition to SSA violating 5 USC 71, SSA also violated Article 1, Section 2.”

    The grievance went on to say the policy violates employees’ freedom of religion and free speech rights by forcing workers to address people by their preferred pronouns and creates a hostile work environment for employees who do not agree for political or religious reasons.

    “This new policy will create a chilling effect on them and is essentially forcing them to agree with this political view in spite of their own personal political or religious beliefs,” it added.

  38. In case you’re interested, Pat. I found the original footage of the Sea Biscuit vs. War Admiral match race….I can watch these over and over and over and cry every time! The movie version brings to light how important it is to use psychology with horses. Sea Biscuit needed to be challenged, he needed to be pushed, in order to give him the incentive to give his best – not by humans, but by another horse. Phar Lap was a similar situation, altho slightly different. He was used as a ploy to push other, better-bred horses to always win and thought he was supposed to lose.
