DIY: Valentine’s Crafts

Today I offer 2 simple, easy to create Valentine crafts: a fleece pillow and a Valentine Gnome. Let’s get started!

No Sew Heart Pillow

Have a look at this easy way to make such a pillow from felt fabric or polar fleece (the cloth must be threadless). You need polar fleece in two different colors, scissors, and stuffing to stuff the pillow with, when it is ready.

Put the fabrics one over the other. Cut a big heart. After that draw a smaller heart inside the bigger one. Be sure to leave at least an inch to an inch and a half between the two borders. This is very important, because when you cut the strips (as shown at the image) they must be long enough so that you can tie them.

Start to tie every two strips, which one over another.

Tie all the strips in this way.

Do not forget to stuff the heart before you close the heart.

At the end, you can reduce the length of the strips to make your heart bushy. This heart pillow comes from the krokotak.com website.

Gnomes

Old yarn socks

Wooden beads

Faux beard

Rice

Polyester fiberfill

Jute string

Microfiber cleaning cloth, white

Hot glue gun & glue sticks

Directions

Cut the socks at the heel. Use the lower half for the body and the upper half for the hat.

Fill the body with half a cup of rice for the weight, then add fiberfill to complete the body. Tie with string to seal the body.

Tie the end for the hat, then turn it over and tie again to make the pompom at the top.

Cut a strip of white microfiber cloth, then glue it to the bonnet. Fold the microfiber upward to keep the unfinished seams out of sight.

Glue the hat to the top of the body. Glue on a faux beard and a wooden bead for the nose.

    1. Morning! Yesterday’s weather predicting a possible 2-3 inches of snow tomorrow but it will continue getting warmer after that so it won’t mean much. I think I’ve discovered Jake’s issue with his sneezing, drooling and strange bumps on his chin. Those have cleared up for the most part but he’s got a really bad tooth that is rotten and enflamed (is he a good fit for me or what??!!??). Problem is….if I take him to the vet here, they will insist he get ALL the vax’s he has not had since I got him in 2014, not to mention flea treatment (which he does NOT have) and worming, among other things. And I’ve watched their vets work on cat’s teeth – it was NOT pleasant!!! They are VERY farm-centric and consider cats to be nothing but nuisances for the most part. I think I’ll check into some vets down Mom’s way….

      1. Good morning! 🌞
I’ve seen a friend with bright, healthy terriers have their health go to hell after conventional vaccinations…I don’t know how people are avoiding these issues…An older friend who has since passed on had a vet that was willing to forego the schedule since his cat was strictly an indoor cat…

        1. Hi Bill! That is exactly the situation with Jake, who is strictly indoor except for going out on the patio in the summer, which is enclosed. But they are all about the $$$ here and shoving thru as many animals as possible, as fast as possible. Since my Mom got him from a shelter near her, I am positive I can find a vet there who will do a much better and cheaper job, w/o all the requirements.

Look, he worked hard tonight, it’s not a natural thing for him, it never was, and never will be, but you’ve got to give him credit for trying. I disagree with him on most of his policies, but he put into words what he felt, and he ended up the evening far stronger than he began. Give him credit for that. Many things weren’t mentioned that should have been, but that’s for another time. I’ve done a little clip, perhaps you’d like to watch it. Good night everybody, and God Bless America!

    From the Belize News:

    The Haitian Hustle?

“As we told you on Friday night, as many as 80 Haitians arrived at the Phillip Goldson International Airport on that day. A number of them carried $100 US dollar bills, or two $50 dollar notes tucked inside their passports. Though it is not clear what the money was for, it’s a well known practice in other countries to slip an immigration officer a bribe in exchange for free passage of the passport holder. But it didn’t work at the PGIA, where the travelers and their passports were detained. As CARICOM nationals, Haitians do not require visas to enter Belize.

According to Immigration Minister, Eamon Courtenay, last week Friday January 27th, 60% of the persons arriving from Panama on COPA and Salvador on Tropic Air were of Haitian nationality.

He says he is convinced that there is an “elaborate international network that is smuggling Haitians” through Belize to get to the US.

Courtenay told the press, quote, “we are actively reviewing the question of what measures we are going to put in place to stem the flow of Haitians into Belize.”

Belize is bound by treaty obligations to accept CARICOM nationals without a visa requirement.

“Last week the largest egg processing plant in Connecticut burned to the ground kill hundreds of thousands of chickens. This week fire in New Zealand. It’s not an accident the government’s are doing this on purpose.”

“Virginia Lawmakers Approve Bill To Ban Teachers From Hiding A Child’s Gender Transition From Parents”

ENTIRE ARTICLE @ DailyCaller: “The Virginia House approved a bill Tuesday which would prevent teachers from keeping a child’s social transition from their parents. Sage’s Law is named after a 14-year-old girl who was sex trafficked twice and raped after the state removed her from her parents’ custody to protect her from “misgendering.”

In a tearful testimony before the Virginia education committee last week, Sage’s mother, Michele, said that while she and her husband were prepared to use Sage’s masculine name and pronouns, the school and the state still insisted Sage would be harmed by her parents. While fighting for custody, Sage was kept in a male children’s home, where she was repeatedly assaulted.

Sage’s law requires parents be notified if their child socially transitions to another gender, prohibits teachers from hiding that transition and clarifies the meaning of “child abuse” to not include “misgendering.”

The bill passed the House 50 to 48 Tuesday and will be considered by the Virginia Senate. “Today, 50 Republican Delegates passed Sage’s Law and said NEVER AGAIN will we allow this to happen to another child, while we also closed the door to block judges or social workers who would make parents criminals if they affirm a minor child’s biological sex,” Delegate Dave LaRock, the sponsor of the bill, told the Daily Caller. “All Democrats voted against Sage’s Law, apparently willing to leave the door open to predators by preserving the secrecy in which they thrive.”

“Sage will spend the rest of her life recovering. We can’t undo the harm done to Sage, but we can help protect others.”

Democrat opposition to the bill argued that children who are transgender will be put in harm’s way if they are forcibly outed, potentially leading to physical abuse or homelessness.

“If you want experiences, if you wanna hear lived experiences from the very kids who this bill would affect, go talk to the kids who were kicked out of their homes, and who were beaten for being outed against their own will,” transgender delegate Danice A. Roem said Monday.”

  7. I can’t speak to FJB’s presentation since I refuse to watch any of it. Having said that….looks like Brandon is finally ready to re-boot #WalkAway!!!

    “Dear Patriots,

I don’t think I’ve ever spent so much time thinking about how to compose an email as I have on this one. There’s SOOO much to talk about. So then I thought, “Well- rather than choosing which things to talk about, just say a little something about everything.” So here goes!

STATE OF THE UNION: Actually, believe it or not, I thought Biden’s tone and demeanor were excellent, and I thought he did a great job. There are just two problems…

    #1 He’s lying about everything he’s saying.
#2 Independents and fence riders may be swayed by this kind of enthusiastic scam job.

We still have almost 2 full years to come out on top, but we need to get to work NOW.

#WalkAway GOES TO COLLEGE FOR A DEBATE:

We’re headed to one of the country’s most liberal colleges for a #WalkAway Left vs. Right live debate.

And last, but certainly not least…The time has finally come to relaunch the #WalkAway Campaign!!! The video testimonials, the written stories, the community… it’s ALL coming back. On February 19th I will be making an announcement that will change history. Get ready. This is going to be HUGE.”

The very names associated with his journalistic revelations are historic. My Lai. Abu Ghraib. The list of his breaking stories which blew the cover on US Government misdeeds is enormous. “How America Took Out The Nord Stream Pipeline — The New York Times called it a “mystery,” but the United States executed a covert sea operation that was kept secret—until now”
    Seymour Hersh

EXCERPT: “The U.S. Navy’s Diving and Salvage Center can be found in a location as obscure as its name—down what was once a country lane in rural Panama City, a now-booming resort city in the southwestern panhandle of Florida, 70 miles south of the Alabama border. The center’s complex is as nondescript as its location—a drab concrete post-World War II structure that has the look of a vocational high school on the west side of Chicago. A coin-operated laundromat and a dance school are across what is now a four-lane road.

The center has been training highly skilled deep-water divers for decades who, once assigned to American military units worldwide, are capable of technical diving to do the good—using C4 explosives to clear harbors and beaches of debris and unexploded ordinance—as well as the bad, like blowing up foreign oil rigs, fouling intake valves for undersea power plants, destroying locks on crucial shipping canals. The Panama City center, which boasts the second largest indoor pool in America, was the perfect place to recruit the best, and most taciturn, graduates of the diving school who successfully did last summer what they had been authorized to do 260 feet under the surface of the Baltic Sea.

Last June, the Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning.

Two of the pipelines, which were known collectively as Nord Stream 1, had been providing Germany and much of Western Europe with cheap Russian natural gas for more than a decade. A second pair of pipelines, called Nord Stream 2, had been built but were not yet operational. Now, with Russian troops massing on the Ukrainian border and the bloodiest war in Europe since 1945 looming, President Joseph Biden saw the pipelines as a vehicle for Vladimir Putin to weaponize natural gas for his political and territorial ambitions.

Asked for comment, Adrienne Watson, a White House spokesperson, said in an email, “This is false and complete fiction.” Tammy Thorp, a spokesperson for the Central Intelligence Agency, similarly wrote: “This claim is completely and utterly false.”

Biden’s decision to sabotage the pipelines came after more than nine months of highly secret back and forth debate inside Washington’s national security community about how to best achieve that goal. For much of that time, the issue was not whether to do the mission, but how to get it done with no overt clue as to who was responsible.”

    1. Ah-ha! “There was a vital bureaucratic reason for relying on the graduates of the center’s hardcore diving school in Panama City. The divers were Navy only, and not members of America’s Special Operations Command, whose covert operations must be reported to Congress and briefed in advance to the Senate and House leadership—the so-called Gang of Eight. The Biden Administration was doing everything possible to avoid leaks as the planning took place late in 2021 and into the first months of 2022.”
      —————
“In December of 2021, two months before the first Russian tanks rolled into Ukraine, Jake Sullivan convened a meeting of a newly formed task force—men and women from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the CIA, and the State and Treasury Departments—and asked for recommendations about how to respond to Putin’s impending invasion.

It would be the first of a series of top-secret meetings, in a secure room on a top floor of the Old Executive Office Building, adjacent to the White House, that was also the home of the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board (PFIAB). There was the usual back and forth chatter that eventually led to a crucial preliminary question: Would the recommendation forwarded by the group to the President be reversible—such as another layer of sanctions and currency restrictions—or irreversible—that is, kinetic actions, which could not be undone?

What became clear to participants, according to the source with direct knowledge of the process, is that Sullivan intended for the group to come up with a plan for the destruction of the two Nord Stream pipelines—and that he was delivering on the desires of the President.”

(THE PLAYERS Left to right: Victoria Nuland, Anthony Blinken, and Jake Sullivan.)
———– [NF: this is really fascinating!]
“What came next was stunning. On February 7, less than three weeks before the seemingly inevitable Russian invasion of Ukraine, Biden met in his White House office with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who, after some wobbling, was now firmly on the American team. At the press briefing that followed, Biden defiantly said, “If Russia invades . . . there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it.”

Twenty days earlier, Undersecretary Nuland had delivered essentially the same message at a State Department briefing, with little press coverage. “I want to be very clear to you today,” she said in response to a question. “If Russia invades Ukraine, one way or another Nord Stream 2 will not move forward.”

Several of those involved in planning the pipeline mission were dismayed by what they viewed as indirect references to the attack.

“It was like putting an atomic bomb on the ground in Tokyo and telling the Japanese that we are going to detonate it,” the source said. “The plan was for the options to be executed post invasion and not advertised publicly. Biden simply didn’t get it or ignored it.”

Biden’s and Nuland’s indiscretion, if that is what it was, might have frustrated some of the planners. But it also created an opportunity. According to the source, some of the senior officials of the CIA determined that blowing up the pipeline “no longer could be considered a covert option because the President just announced that we knew how to do it.”

The plan to blow up Nord Stream 1 and 2 was suddenly downgraded from a covert operation requiring that Congress be informed to one that was deemed as a highly classified intelligence operation with U.S. military support. Under the law, the source explained, “There was no longer a legal requirement to report the operation to Congress. All they had to do now is just do it—but it still had to be secret. The Russians have superlative surveillance of the Baltic Sea.”

The Agency working group members had no direct contact with the White House, and were eager to find out if the President meant what he’d said—that is, if the mission was now a go. The source recalled, “Bill Burns comes back and says, ‘Do it.’”

    2. So Denmark, Norway and Sweden were ALL in on this!!!!

“The Norwegians joined the Americans in insisting that some senior officials in Denmark and Sweden had to be briefed in general terms about possible diving activity in the area. In that way, someone higher up could intervene and keep a report out of the chain of command, thus insulating the pipeline operation. “What they were told and what they knew were purposely different,” the source told me. (The Norwegian embassy, asked to comment on this story, did not respond.)”

    1. Here’s the ending for you: “The source had a much more streetwise view of Biden’s decision to sabotage more than 1500 miles of Gazprom pipeline as winter approached. “Well,” he said, speaking of the President, “I gotta admit the guy has a pair of balls. He said he was going to do it, and he did.”

Asked why he thought the Russians failed to respond, he said cynically, “Maybe they want the capability to do the same things the U.S. did. “It was a beautiful cover story,” he went on. “Behind it was a covert operation that placed experts in the field and equipment that operated on a covert signal. The only flaw was the decision to do it.”

          1. We have been getting quite a variety of squirrels in our area too, some looking like cross breeds of fox & black, fox & gray, & maybe even red & gray. They’re cute to observe & don’t mess with us. Our neighbors a couple houses down throw seeds in their lawn for the birds & the squirrels also frequent their yard.

Most of our snow is gone now in the last couple of days too.
