Today is National Dress Up Your Pet Day. In high school, one of my good friends had an Irish Setter.  For every project Carol (my friend) had to do, she always managed to sneak in pictures of her Irish Setter in costumes—sunglasses, hats, ties—and our class LOVED them. And the teachers received them well too! (Of course, it didn’t hurt that Carol was the Superintendent’s daughter…LOL)   So without further ado…some of my favorite pictures…please add you own!

    snowing lightly so far…hubby hasn’t delivered the forecast yet…sigh…so don’t know what we’re in for, if anything, yet.

    1. Good morning….still dark here, 29 degrees, but I’m not expecting any precip. Last night’s forecast predicting mid-40’s today and tomorrow!!! I think I’ll make a run to Norfolk tomorrow – possibly nasty weather coming early next week.

    1. Nope – I think he’s gone, one way or the other – could have been hit by a car, got in a fight and got his ass whipped, inside someone else’s house – who knows? Did you see my comment about the wild-assed black short-hair that was on my patio? I hadn’t put any food back out but was going out there for something else and I surprised him/her. Went frantic trying to get out, almost busting thru a screen, so I backed off and he scooted out thru the doggie door, which is now locked down. No more cats on the patio unless LM miraculously shows up again.

            there’s a little one in town that scoops up the strays if people call and keeps them in during bad storms and such, then makes sure they’re healthy and sets them free…
            it’s a funding thing (not keeping them all the time)

              1. not around here either–heck one day last year we found a dog on the road. we recognized him from a house we pass all the time on the macadam road so we took him home. the owner said he likes to “roam”
                the place that takes in the cats is in the little town closest to us

Since I’m in town and, considering the big brouhaha a few years ago – the fight between me and Mr. Wilson over the “Dangerous Dog Ordinance” – brought about because someone had a litter of wolf/dogs they let run wild – pretty well locked down the dogs in this town. Cats are an entirely different matter. Fucking in-fighting in these small towns.

              4. As long as they have shelter out of the weather, where they can be dry and out of the wind, they do just fine – make sure they have water accessible somewhere nearby. Common sense, of course, must prevail – I couldn’t possibly throw Jake outside – he’d be dead in less than 24 hours. But cats who have lived outside all their lives have no issues.

              7. yeah and the “woodshed” is really a carport so it’s open on 2 sides. no enclosure or place for a “doggie door” that a larger animal couldn’t access

    He is not only a former White House lawyer for President Barack Obama, but also serves as Obama’s representative to the National Archives.

    Biden did not have to look far to find a lawyer he trusts. Bauer is married to Anita Dunn, one of his closest communications advisors.

    He also worked at the private law firm Perkins Coie for more than 35 years, including during the time the firm was funding the infamous phony dossier directed by lawyer Marc Elias on Donald Trump drafted by Christopher Steele. [Warroom says he was Marc Elias’ boss and mentor]

      1. It all depends on the horse, just like dogs, cats, any other animal. Most of the horses doing this are small-farm-family horses and are used to kids running around and a lot of noise and activity.

              2. there’s a casino near Harrisburg (we don’t get there often) and another in NY about the same distance away where they have horse races with carts (not sure what they’re called)
                that’s more fun than the casinos they’re attached to

              3. Sulky racing/harness racing – they use pacers and trotters. Someone had a pacer mare to give away when we moved to the farm in VA in 1990. A pretty bay mare with a sweet temperament – I named her Sassy – but she simply wouldn’t/couldn’t stop pacing and that is impossible to ride. With pacing, both legs on the same side move forward together, instead of with trotters, where the off-legs move forward together – with trotting, you can sit easily, but not at all with pacing. She needed to be fully re-trained and I didn’t have the skills for that. I gave her to another woman who did manage to re-train and re-home her, tho.

    According to a new investigation published in The BMJ, experts are raising concerns about the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) insufficient monitoring of clinical trial sites for Covid-19 vaccines and drugs, which were developed at “warp speed.”

    The investigation reveals that out of 153 trial sites for Pfizer’s COVID-19 mRNA vaccine, only nine were inspected by the FDA prior to licensing. In addition, just 10 out of 99 trial sites for Moderna and five out of 73 trial sites for remdesivir received inspections from the FDA.

    Notably, the FDA received a complaint from whistle-blower Brook Jackson, about misconduct at three clinical trial sites that were testing Pfizer’s covid-19 vaccine, while she was employed as a regional director. Jackson observed a range of problems including falsified data, unblinded patients, and inadequately trained vaccinators who were slow to follow up on adverse events. “I thought that the FDA was going to swoop in and take care of everything,” said Jackson. The FDA did not, however, inspect the trial sites in question.

    The CDC wants you to take away these messages:

    1. There’s a safety signal, but it’s only in one database we monitor (VSD). It’s not in VAERS or anything else.

    2. Since we are super honest, we’re letting the public know about it

    3. There’s nothing to fear. If it were a real signal, it would be in all the databases, so this is just a glitch in the matrix.

    4. Go get your booster, just like we tell you in our new Martha Stewart TV commercial.

    What an “honest CDC” would have said — But the truth is just the opposite of those four points. Here’s what the CDC response would look like if they were being honest with the American people. This is a long read, but worth it:

    1. “OK, to be perfectly honest, we KNOW that the shot is causing strokes. In fact, there’s a safety signal for stroke in all the databases, but we’re just too darn corrupt to admit that and the mainstream press is too ignorant to ask us about it. So we lied. And we get away with it. Always.

    In fact, we just admitted in a FOIA request that ischemic stroke triggered a safety signal in VAERS, but only Kirsch and a few other of his misinformation spreader friends read the FOIA, so NOBODY’s ever going to figure out we are lying. NOBODY. EVER. It’s in front of their faces in full public view and the press is so controlled by us that they NEVER CALL US ON our lies. Even when people will die. They are loyal to us.

    You can trust that we’ll get away with this because we’ve been getting away with murder for decades, and nobody is the wiser (except for RFK Jr., Andy Wakefield, and a few others). But we’ve discredited all of them, and then when people see what happens to people who oppose us, they back off. We are so certain we won’t be caught in a lie that here’s the proof we were lying that the signal was ONLY happening in VSD:

    (This spreadsheet obtained from the CDC under FOIA proves that CDC knows damn well that ischemic stroke triggered a safety signal in VAERS, but they think nobody else knows, so they are lying about it to Reuters saying that it’s only in VSD and not in any other database. The CDC lies with impunity because nobody is going to hold them accountable for their lies, no matter how many people they kill.)

    Overall, we admitted that there were 770 safety signals triggered in VAERS including things like death, ischemic stroke, cardiac arrest, pulmonary thrombosis, Bell’s palsy, acute left ventricular failure, acute respiratory failure, chronic left ventricular failure, acute myocardial infarction (i.e., heart attack), deep vein thrombosis, etc. but nobody cares about the FOIAs. They only pay attention to what we tell the press. And we’ve kept this hidden from the press because we don’t want people to know we are lying to them. That would upset the whole operation.”

    “Summary — They are lying when they claim ischemic stroke is showing up only in VSD. They only admit what they are forced to admit. They know they are lying.     In any sane world, Rochelle Walensky would be fired and replaced with someone who will clean up the agency. But this is not a sane world. Congress completely trusts the CDC and looks the other way. If you claim the CDC is corrupt, you are labeled a conspiracy theorist and they stop returning your calls.

    Only Senator Ron Johnson is holding them accountable, but they completely ignore him. That will cost them when the Republicans take the Senate. Then it will be payback time. I can’t wait.”

If that’s not sufficient, then we must refuse hospital beds to those who brought sickness on themselves with their ignorant choice of stove.”

    mom used her walker to walk from her front door (down 3 steps) to the sidewalk to her street and then up to my uncle’s home. he’s next door, but this is not a city–he’s a little ways away from her. she wanted to see their Christmas tree. after visiting, she made the return trip! by her little tracker she has, it said she walked a HALF MILE!!
    she was tired, but so happy and proud she did it!
