What Shall We Make Today?

Today’s offering is definitely NOT a child chef picture type of recipe…it’s my mom’s Egg Nog recipe.  She takes a store bought quart of eggnog, adds her magic and makes almost 2 half gallons of a very potent (mostly nog) eggnog…lol.  She stored this in glass milk bottles (remember those?) in the refrigerator in the basement.  Thinking back on it now, I guess that’s why my dad and my brother spent so much time “tinkering” down in the workshop…lol

Eggnog

1 quart store bought eggnog

1 quart milk

½ gallon vanilla ice cream, softened

6 eggs, beaten

1 tsp. vanilla

6 shots rum

6 shots whiskey

Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl with an electric mixer until thoroughly blended.  Chill.  (Glass really does make it taste better Mom says.)

Enjoy!

    1. Good morning! When isn’t WP weird??? I was never particularly fond of Eggnog myself. Boy, do I ever remember those glass bottles! When I was young, we still got our milk delivered in half-gallon glass bottles. We had a metal box (now they call them coolers!) that sat on our back porch. IDR now how often we had it delivered. Years later, my a-Mom still had that box and continued to keep it on her front porch for package/mail deliveries.

Apparently Musk is playing dumb on the whole thing, and Shiva is calling him out via Facebook and Twitter proxies…

  2. father of one of the girls murdered in idaho says the”means of death” don’t match all 4 victims…
    FTA
The way two of the four University of Idaho students were killed Nov. 13, “don’t match,” parents of slain student Kaylee Goncalves contend.

“I’ll cut to the chase – their means of death don’t match.” Kaylee’s father, Steven Goncalves, told Fox News on Saturday.

The grieving dad was pressed if he was referring to his daughter and her best friend, Madison Mogen, who was sleeping in the the same bed as Goncalves when the horrific attack occurred.

“They don’t match,” he repeated. “Their points of damage don’t match.”

“I’m just going to say it,” he continued. “It wasn’t leaked to me. I earned that. I paid for that funeral.”

“I sent my daughter to college — she came back in a box,” he said. “I can speak on that.”

The two 21-year-old college seniors were fatally stabbed in their home near the university’s campus along with roommate Xana Kernodle, 20, and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, also 20, in the early hours of Nov. 13. carn

Three weeks later, police have not named any suspects or motive in the senseless slaughter.

Goncalves’ family also told NewsNation on Friday that police were not being forthcoming providing information to the families of the victims — and that their investigation in some instances seems to have moved too quickly.

“I just feel like there’s been a couple individuals that were cleared very fast that maybe should not have been,” said Kristi Goncalves, Kaylee’s mother.

  3. i admit to not reading the story–I can only handle so much negativity at one time–but some dude has a post about holder being on the sunday talk shows, he suggests the left will arrest hunter at the same time they arrest REALPOTUS and claim equal treatment or something…
first off, I don’t see this setting well with ultra maggot. he is arrogant and mean and unless they totally sedate him…I can’t see that half of the equation going well at all.
second, some dude says holder implies that they are positioned to withstand any kind of uprising or backlash from arresting REALPOTUS–which to me reads civil war…

they are pushing and pushing this to declare martial law and install a dictator–too much for a monday morning

  6. EXCERPTS: “A cyber security and data analyst funding research into Twitter’s alleged child sexual abuse material (CSAM) problem said Saturday that the platform has nearly doubled its daily suspension rate on accounts that share exploitative content containing child pornography.

Andrea Stoppa, founder of cybersecurity group Ghost Data, had personally funded research into the issue earlier this year after receiving a tip about the problem’s severity. The report allegedly found more than 500 accounts soliciting child sex abuse material that appeared alongside or on profile pages of at least 30 major advertisers’ Twitter accounts, which led some of those companies to pull or pause their ad services from the social media platform.

Following his initial analysis last September, Stroppa and Twitter’s Trust and Safety team said the social media platform had updated a mechanism to detect past and present content related to CSAM at a much “faster, more efficient, and more aggressive” speed, which has approximately doubled the daily suspension rate of accounts promoting the egregious material.
    ——————
Eliza Bleu, a survivor advocate of those affected by human trafficking, has been speaking out against Twitter’s child pornography problem since shortly after joining the platform in 2019.

Bleu told The Daily Wire she was “floored” after seeing the latest report of how many profiles were removed.

“I don’t think I thought any of this stuff was possible at the scale that they’re removing it now,” Bleu said. “The only thing is they’re just gonna have to keep it up, keep innovating, and continue to make it their top priority.”

“I feel like I’m witnessing a miracle,” she added.

During a Twitter Space on the platform Saturday in which Musk spent hours answering questions from prominent users, Bleu stepped up to the virtual stage and spoke about her efforts in the crusade to seek justice for all those who have been affected by child sex trafficking.
    ——————
For context, one previous report showed the platform removed as many as approximately 57,000 profiles in one month before Musk’s acquisition compared to the 44,000 removed in a single day.”

  8. EXCERPT: “Oh, that Elon and his linear thinking again. He believed in free speech and its inevitable consequence – that people will say things that other people dislike. But Elon is a man of action. So he bought Twitter. And he is now freeing those gagged by the ruling caste.

And the ruling caste is aghast.

It is interesting to watch Elon as he sifts through the censorship regime on Twitter. The disconnect between America he was promised and the America of 2022 is blowing his mind. He’s still not a conservative – all that red-pilling you see is simply him holding Twitter up to the standards he was told America adhered to when he landed here. He was told that you get to say what you want, even if other people – including the most powerful people in society – do not approve. He’s just making that true again.

Elon deserves our thanks for the substantive relief he has brought to the muzzled and the gagged (though I and others are still throttled and stuck within the same 2K follower count band for six months – follow me at @KurtSchlichter and fight the power!). But we should save our greatest gratitude for how his naïveté and innocence – for which he should be applauded for stubbornly clinging to – have revealed the rotten core of our ruling caste. Politicians were outraged that conservatives would be allowed to speak freely and threatened his businesses and even his freedom – notice how all these “investigations” suddenly happened the minute he challenged the liberal Borg? Under leftist pressure, other corporations withdrew advertising to try to kill off Twitter – such is their terror at one outlet not under their Birkenstocks’ heels. And the regime media melted down at the thought of “unmoderated” content escaping to circulate among the proles.

Guess who they think should be the moderators?

They lied to us about hard work. Oh, it was fine for us to toil to get them shiny electric cars or rockets. But hard work was not meant for, you know, them. And they lied to us about free speech. That was meant for them, and only them. And only within the appropriate bounds.

Elon Musk’s crime is that he believed the lies that the ruling caste told him, but he went one step further and dared hold the ruling caste to its lies. That’s why they hate him That’s why they want to destroy him. And that’s why we should not only thank him but also have his back.”

I am in charge of the “bag game” at Christmas–you pick a word, like Cane and then select items that start with one of the letters in the word…cookie, apple, napkin, egg timer. on the outside of a paper bag you write the letter and slip the item inside. then everybody tries to guess the items.
the 2 clerks in the store were bored and asked if they could help me find anything…I laughed and said sure. I need items that begin with s, r, and m. one of the girls laughed and said…the bag game? I laughed and said yup.
so they each went into different aisles and called out what they found…made it go so much faster!!
AND they had bags of Kraft caramels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    FTA
A day after swearing in a new sheriff, the county of Los Angeles announced it had arrested almost twenty juveniles and young adults in what media outlets are reporting as a “massive organized retail theft ring.”

Police allege the eighteen suspects, ranging in ages of 15 to 20, stole merchandise worth $23,000 in over the course of two days last week from various clothing and shoe retail stores. What’s more, those same suspects are believed to have been involved in over ten other crimes totaling almost $100,000 in losses for the stores in the past few weeks..

Police are reporting that in the wake of the massive arrests, eight cars had been impounded and, amazingly, all of the stolen merchandise has been recovered. The group of eighteen suspects now face a misdemeanor charge of organized retail theft and a felony charge of grant theft.

  15. “Czechia: EU’s EV charger network plan will probably fail — “Like most other member states, we consider the EP’s proposal to be completely unrealistic,” said a spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport

    December 05, 2022
editor: REMIX NEWS author: MILOŠ CIHELKA, PRÁVO via: NOVINKY.CZ

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The European Parliament (EP) requires that by 2026 there should be at least one charging station for electric cars every 60 kilometers on all major road routes in the EU. In the Czech Republic, however, this will plan will probably fail, according to the Czech Ministry of Transport. According to the MEPs’ proposal, which should be enacted between 2021 and 2026, each station should also have an output power of at least 300 kilowatts and include at least one charger with an individual output of 150 kilowatts. Currently, chargers with a power of 50 kilowatts are most often used at Czech stations.

The proposed rule, approved by the European Parliament in late October, is part of the Fit for 55 climate package, which aims to achieve a 55 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The regulation now heads to the European Council.

Construction is not worth it — Czechia already is, in terms of the ratio of electric cars to one charging station, in a flattering eighth place among EU states. However, the Czech Ministry of Transport and the main potential operators of chargers consider the European Parliament’s requirement to be difficult to fulfill even despite around 5 billion korunas (€205 million) in subsidies from the EU to support construction.

“Like most other member states, we consider the European Parliament’s proposal to be completely unrealistic,” František Jemelka, spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport, told Právo daily. The original proposal of the European Commission was already very complicated from the point of view of the Ministry, mainly because it is not at all possible to ensure the construction of chargers with such a capacity in the given period, especially when it comes to capacity from Czechia’s energy network.

“Given that the majority of member states have a similar position to the Czech Republic, we do not expect that the European Parliament will succeed in enforcing this request during the negotiations with the Council, which began during our presidency but will continue under the next Swedish presidency,” added Jemelka. Even the current operators of public charging stations think that it would be difficult to achieve the goal requested by the European Parliament.

“Achieving this goal will certainly not be easy. Indeed, a certain core of a charging infrastructure that can be built on already exists, but in this case, we are talking about hundreds of kilowatts to units of megawatts of charging power in one location, which represents a complex and particularly time-consuming solution,” said Martin Schreier from the ČEZ Group, which operates around 470 public charging stations throughout the Czech Republic.

According to him, the problem lies primarily in ensuring the necessary electrical input. “At the same time, the construction of the stations itself is not yet commercially profitable and is only possible with the help of investment subsidies, such as CEF programs or funds distributed from the Transport Program,” added Schreier. “Currently, the construction of stations is not profitable, and it will not be in the next few years either. The reason is the low number of electric cars in our market,” confirms Martin Klíma, CEO of E.ON Drive Infrastructure.

“Under the current conditions for building permits and the possibility of acquiring land, the stated goal is very difficult to achieve. According to our belief, it is necessary to revise the set rules,” says PRE’s spokesperson Karel Hanzelka.

According to data from the Ministry of Transport, there are currently more than 13,000 electric cars in the Czech Republic, which use over 2,600 chargers. The national clean mobility action plan assumes that between 19,000 and 35,000 charging points should be built by 2030.”

You’ve basically told the story of third century Rome right there.

Legion commanders and governors out in the provinces were constantly being “proclaimed emperor by their legions” and starting civil wars. Once they were “proclaimed emperor by their legion” they would often issue coins. (Minting coins required not-too-terribly specialized equipment that would fit on one cart, back then–not the industrial assembly lines with presses the size of a semi trailer that we have today)

The third century is also poorly documented today. The reason why Roman history as a subject today focuses on the era between Carthage and Marcus Aurelius, without really going into before that time and after that time, is that we have abundant surviving sources for those times. (How famous has the whole Julius Caesar-Augustus Caesar story, endlessly retold by Hollywood…compared to, say the story of Septimius Severus? That’s why.) Information is *scarce* for the 2nd century and it’s often hard to tell whether some guy mentioned is just one of these dufus claimants or someone who really was in control in Rome. And scarce, of course, means some dufus claimant might not be mentioned at all in any writings that have survived to this day. Coins, on the other hand are a lot more durable and historians love to find out about previously-unknown coins for that reason.

That being said if I read the same article you did, there are still some historians who are skeptical of this new work.
