What Shall We Make Today?

So, you did the elaborate turkey dinner thing and you deserve a break from cooking, but leftovers are all gone?  Today’s offering is here to the rescue (and no, I don’t mean Ron to the rescue…LOL) It’s crock pot beef stew.  It’s great for a Sunday watching football kind of day.  Add a loaf of Rhodes fresh baked bread and this meal is awesome!!

Crock Pot Beef Stew

Ingredients

1-1/2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed

6 medium carrots, cut into 1-inch lengths

1 medium onion, coarsely chopped

3 celery ribs, coarsely chopped

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1-1/2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes

3 tablespoons canola oil

1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 can (14-1/2 ounces) beef broth

1 teaspoon ground mustard

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon browning sauce, optional

Minced fresh thyme

Directions

Layer the potatoes, carrots, onion and celery in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Place flour in a large shallow dish. Add stew meat; turn to coat evenly. In a large skillet, brown meat in oil in batches. Place over vegetables.

In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, broth, mustard, salt, pepper, thyme and, if desired, browning sauce. Pour over beef. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or until the meat and vegetables are tender. If desired, sprinkle with fresh thyme before serving.

ENJOY!

    1. Good morning! Glad it didn’t turn cold and snowy! Temp is 30 here now but I haven’t looked outside yet to see if it’s cloudy or not. My crockpot stew recipe is much simpler! One of my favorite cookbooks was a “Cooking for Two” book my a-Mom gave me for one of my weddings.

The amount depends on the size of your crockpot. I brown 1 lb of stew beef, then cut up 2 large spuds, 2 large carrots, a little onion (since I don’t like a lot), a couple of celery stalks, salt, pepper, and 2 cans of Campbells tomato soup, with 2 cans of water. Cook until the veggies are soft. I need to make more chili and beef stew for this winter. Once I discovered the spuds turn grainy when frozen, I take out the spuds when I freeze it, and cook more when I want to heat it up – fresh spuds are much better.

      1. Good Morning!
thanks for the tip about the taters…i never really get enough leftovers to freeze…hubby likes leftovers for lunches the next couple of days. But i will remember that if I ever do get any!
it’s lighter outside now, but it’s not clear–clouds everywhere!

            1. Oh, my – I haven’t had that cookbook for many years now. You wouldn’t like my cooking, I guarantee you. I use far too many packaged ingredients or ready-to-use stuff, like the Campbell’s soup. You “cook.” I “heat up!” LOL

              1. I love spicy but have no clue how to get it that way except the old standby of Worcerstershire sauce, garlic, Heinz 57, and good old honey BBQ sauce, which I love these days. I really went out on a limb when I originally tried the Tarragon! ROFL

i normally use vegetable oil which is probably not much better…
do you think extra virgin olive oil would change the taste?
when i make my roast beefs in the crockpot and i want to brown the meat, I typically melt a little butter in the pan first.

This sounds fair, doesn’t it? The “Justice” Department is CORRUPT. Offered Christopher Steele $1,000,000 to lie about me, paid Russian a fortune to “get Trump,” told Facebook not to mention the Hunter Biden Laptop before the Election, “it was Russian disinformation,” when they KNEW it was not. Is Trump Hater Jack Smith going to investigate that? Will his Trump Hating boss, Lisa M, allow him to investigate the reason for January 6th, the corrupt 2020 Election, or the troops I recommended be sent?

Democrats have been using this now-fictitious 11 million number of illegal immigrants for nearly 20 years.

During the intervening time period, illegal immigration has gotten worse, not better.

The real number is likely at 35-40 million…Perhaps higher.https://t.co/BQxplQ35xM

Kash Patel shared on his show that the FBI has to train confidential human sources for a year before putting them into action. In this case there were 8 confidential FBI informants at the Jan 6 protests with the Proud Boys, several more with the Oath Keepers, and several others in the crowd

Kash brings up a very interesting point. It’s recently been reported that there were 8 FBI confidential human sources (at least) at the Capitol on January 6th. If true, it means the FBI was planning for January 6th for about a year prior to the event.

        1. I think a a judge has to approve a subpoena. From Wiki: “A subpoena (/səˈpiː.nə/;[1] also subpœna, supenna or subpena[2]) or witness summons is a writ issued by a government agency, most often a court, to compel testimony by a witness or production of evidence under a penalty for failure. There are two common types of subpoenas:

subpoena ad testificandum orders a person to testify before the ordering authority or face punishment. The subpoena can also request the testimony to be given by phone or in person.
subpoena duces tecum orders a person or organization to bring physical evidence before the ordering authority or face punishment. This is often used for requests to mail copies of documents to requesting party or directly to court.”

  6. “Integrity Lost — Like paradise, once lost, it can never be recovered”
    Robert W Malone MD, MS

EXCERPTS: ““For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Mark 8:36

“I am sure that in estimating every man’s value either in private or public life, a pure integrity is the quality we take first into calculation, and that learning and talents are only the second.”
(Thomas Jefferson, Jerry Holmes (2002). “Thomas Jefferson: A Chronology of His Thoughts”, p.132, Rowman & Littlefield)

Integrity. One of the three key guideposts along the road out of COVID crisis hell; integrity, dignity, community. Integrity is a curious word. Triple meanings which buttress one to the other.

    1. Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code.
    2. The state of being unimpaired; soundness.
    3. The quality or condition of being whole or undivided; completeness.
(The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition.)

Human beings can be characterized by exhibiting integrity or it’s opposites, hypocrisy and deceit. Buildings can have structural integrity, or they can be unsound, a danger to inhabitants. Organizations can have integrity, or can be corrupt. And a Nation can have integrity, or be divided against itself.

    —————–
I argue that the Imperial Administrative State which the United States Federal Government has been transformed into has clearly lost any semblance of integrity.

The “Malone Doctrine” document has an amazing backstory, as it brought together the sensibilities of a senior building inspector (Tom) and a seasoned financial analyst (Ed). As Tom points out, the International Building Code is a set of agreements which, when properly implemented during the construction of a building, will guarantee reliable integrity and functionality of the final structure. The “Malone Doctrine” was forged by Ed, Tom and colleagues essentially as an “international building code” for individuals and organizations. The subheading in the title is as significant as the content, for this is a “Declaration of Independence” from corrupted institutions.

I am often asked “What can we do to fix the federal agency?” And I have to say that the picture is grim, because agency after agency has been thoroughly corrupted. There is little or no structural integrity left. If these agencies were buildings, the only option an inspector like Tom would have would be to condemn them. They are tear downs. They must be rebuilt on solid ground beginning with new footings. And if the legal citizens of the United States will not do this, then others will do it for us. As any who have studied the infiltration of the Chinese CCP will attest, that corrupt and unethical expansionist organization is well on the way to doing it for us.

Like paradise, once integrity has been lost, it cannot be regained. “For what shall it profit a Nation, if it shall gain the whole world, and lose its own soul.” Think this through with me. Tom and Ed’s vision in this document is essentially a clarion for creation of a network of intentional communities, organizations, and people that share a commitment to integrity.

  7. “Something Stinks In Arizona! Using Maricopa County’s numbers, it looks like as many as 500,000 votes were not counted”
    Emerald Robinson

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “First of all, let me remind my fellow Americans: I told you this would happen. I told you on November 7th that the corporate media was sowing the narrative that voting machines malfunctioning was totally normal, and that election results which take weeks to discover are totally fine. I told you why voting machines “not working” in key counties was always the plan of the Washington uniparty to stop Trump-aligned politicians from taking over the GOP.

I explained why it was madness for so many conservative talk show hosts and “experts” to reassure GOP voters that candidates like Kari Lake and Blake Masters would ultimately win their elections while they were being cheated out of their victories.

Too many right-wing “influencers” in the media had no idea what was going on. After all, I’ve spent the entire year hosting election integrity experts on my TV show — The Absolute Truth — and most of them agreed that nothing had been done about the stolen 2020 election. No meaningful reforms had been passed. No guilty parties had been prosecuted. No safeguards were in place.

In other words, the only reason to believe that America’s elections in 2022 would be better than 2020 was blind hope. So, I was not using astrology or a time machine to accurately predict that Trump-aligned candidates in key races would suddenly find their elections slow down as corrupt election officials started to cheat.

The prime example of this brazen fraud is Maricopa County — which is scheduled to have its false election results certified this Monday morning. Read this thread to see what Maricopa County probably did to “manage” the machines in red precincts. What makes this certification even more egregious is that Maricopa County has now publicly admitted that it ran a bad election — and it was bad in the classic and non-partisan sense that Maricopa County disenfranchised its own voters.

The official cause of this terrible election was a “printer issue.”

When election officials run a bad election, the only thing to do is to re-do the election after recalling the guilty election officials. Their apologies are legally irrelevant. Their excuses are not just insufficient but laughably kindergardenish in terms of flimflam. In short, nobody believes them.

Remember: the official position of Maricopa County is that only 17,000 ballots were effected which it calculated as 7% of Election Day votes.

The problem with that 7% figure is that you get a final Election Day vote total of 246,000 ballots — even though Maricopa County has admitted that about 750,000 voters showed up on Election Day. That’s half a million votes that have disappeared.

Two more bombshells (courtesy of my TV guest tomorrow!) that will shake your faith in our “democracy” even more: Arizona’s Director of Elections appears to be a FBI agent in the “cyber division” which is too cute by half.

The second bombshell? Kari Lake’s opponent Katie Hobbs was funded by a PAC that got money from the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX.

Law enforcement at the Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) International Airport were alerted to a missing suitcase in the baggage claim area on Sept. 16. The adult female victim said she flew into MSP on a Delta flight from New Orleans and went to retrieve her checked bag at carousel seven.

Airport records confirmed the navy blue Vera Bradley roller bag arrived at 4:40 p.m. but was missing from the carousel. So law enforcement reviewed video surveillance footage from the baggage claim area and observed Brinton removing a navy blue roller bag from carousel seven, according to a criminal complaint.

The complaint says Brinton removed a luggage tag from the bag, placed it into a handbag he was carrying, and “then left the area at a quick pace.” Brinton arrived at MSP Airport around 4:27 p.m. on an American Airlines flight from Washington, D.C., but did not check a bag, meaning he had no reason to visit baggage claim, according to the complaint.
    Sam Brinton/Department of Energy

Police showed the surveillance video to the victim and she confirmed it was her bag.

Brinton left the airport in an Uber for a stay at the InterContinental St. Paul Riverfront hotel, where he checked in with the blue bag, the complaint says.

He returned to MSP on Sept. 18 with the bag in hand for a departing flight back to Washington, D.C., authorities allege.

Surveillance video from Dulles International Airport shows Brinton traveling with the bag on an Oct. 9 return trip from Europe, the complaint notes.

The victim said the estimated value of the bag and its contents was around $2,325.

Police questioned Brinton about the missing bag in an Oct. 9 phone call and asked him directly if he “took anything that did not belong” to him.

“Not that I know of,” Brinton allegedly responded. He later admitted to taking the bag but said the clothes inside were his, according to the complaint.

“If I had taken the wrong bag, I am happy to return it, but I don’t have any clothes for another individual. That was my clothes when I opened the bag,” he told police, according to the complaint.

Brinton allegedly called the investigating officer two hours later and apologized for not being “completely honest.” This time Brinton said he took the bag because he was tired and thought it was his, the complaint says.

He allegedly told police that he realized the bag didn’t belong to him when he opened it up at the hotel but “got nervous” and didn’t “know what to do.” Worried that people would think he “stole the bag,” Brinton told police he left the victim’s clothes in the drawers in the hotel room, according to the complaint.

Brinton said he brought the bag back to D.C. with him because it would have been “weirder” to leave a bag in the hotel room, according to police.

Police told Brinton how to return the bag to Delta, but as of Oct. 27 the victim still had not received her bag back.

Police also learned that no clothing was recovered from the hotel room.

Brinton’s first court hearing is scheduled for Dec. 19 in Hennepin County. Alpha News attempted to contact Brinton via email but received an automatic reply saying he is on leave and unable to access his email. The Department of Energy declined to comment. Brinton’s attorneys did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

  10. “More than 700 shootings in last three years near Swedish primary schools — Schools in Stockholm topped the list of those with the most gang shootings in the last three years”
    November 28, 2022
editor: REMIX NEWS author: THOMAS BROOKE

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Over 700 shootings have taken place near primary schools in Sweden in the past three years, according to data from the Swedish broadcaster SVT in collaboration with Infostat. SVT’s mapping reveals that 196,000 (16 percent) of Swedish primary school students currently attend a school where one or more shootings have taken place within a 500-meter radius in the last three years.

Naturally, this figure is lower among the country’s rural population, while in urban areas such as Stockholm and Malmö, the figure skyrockets to close to 50 percent.

The small city of Södertälje in Södermanland and Stockholm County is the worst-affected area, with 54 percent of school children attending an educational facility that has experienced a shooting in its vicinity in the last three years. The city of Eskilstuna in the south-east of the country is the second most infamous at 49 percent. Stockholm and Malmö place third and fourth, while Västerås is in fifth.

Most of the shootings are taking place at night, and thus outside of school hours; however, experts have still expressed concern about the effect such violence has on the children living nearby. “It is a problem that there is shooting at all and that you can see the places of violence so close. It creates a lot of insecurity,” noted criminologist Sven Granath to broadcaster SVT. “It can also give a sense of injustice because these are students who may see shootings more often than others in their everyday lives,” he added.

The vast majority of shootings are attributed to gang warfare, a relatively new phenomenon for the Nordic country following its previous governments’ liberal attitude toward mass migration. The estimated 5,000 urban crime gang members dominating Swedish cities are almost exclusively first- or second-generation immigrants, including all 12 of the country’s convicted gang leaders, according to Amir Rostami, a leading criminologist and professor who based his findings on police data.

And as authorities struggle to get a grip on gang violence, fatal shootings have reached record highs with 46 homicides being reported in 335 shootings across Sweden last year. The schools most-affected by gang shootings were almost exclusively in Stockholm where seven of the schools with the most shootings are located.

Gullingeskolan was the most plagued institution with 14 shootings within 500 meters of the school in the last three years. Meanwhile, Askeby School, Hjulsta Primary School, and Rinkeby School, all of which are located in Stockholm, also experienced double-digit figures.”

    entire disgusting article

The Florida man accused of randomly killing a couple in their garage six years ago — and gnawing on one of the victims’ faces afterward — was found not guilty by reason of insanity on Monday and will be committed to a mental health facility.

Austin Harrouff, 25, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to two counts of first-degree murder and other charges for the 2016 slayings of John Stevens, 59, and his wife, Michelle Mishcon Stevens, 53.

He also seriously injured a neighbor who tried to help them, prosecutors said.

A judge accepted the plea deal Monday. Harrouff, who attended Florida State University before the attack, will be committed to a secure mental health facility until doctors and a judge agree that he is no longer dangerous.

If the trial had gone forward, Harrouff could have faced life in prison.

Police reportedly found Harrouff, who was 19 at the time, nearly naked and biting John Stevens’ face, WPLG reported. He did not know his victims and reportedly claimed he believed he was being chased by a demon.

In a 38-page mental health report released by the Martin County State Attorney’s Office in 2019, forensic psychologist Dr. Phillip Resnick concluded that Harrouff believed he was “half-dog, half-man” during the attack.

Investigators discovered Harrouff bought hallucinogenic mushrooms several days before the attack, but authorities said no traces of the drug were found in his blood that night.

Several family members of the slain couple expressed anger at the decision and made victim impact statements.

Cindy Mishcon, the sister of Michelle Mishcon and an attorney, laid out a methodical case of why she does not believe that Harrouff was insane when the killings occurred.

“You can’t even look at me?” she asked Harrouff, who was sitting at the defense table, wearing a red and white striped prison uniform and glasses. She said that she had begun writing her victim impact statement when she was “naive enough” to think there would be justice.

Cindy Mishcon said that reality set in for her as she listened to tapes of Harrouff’s jailhouse phone calls with family members and the reading of pages of text messages in the year prior to the killings, which were part of the court record. The text messages with his friends outlined the life of a student who was smoking marijuana, taking other drugs, and abusing alcohol during the year before killing the couple.

She said she realized “you don’t care about anyone but yourself,” and that “the only victim you and your family see is you, and the Harrouff name.”

“Is it really so hard for you to understand that you are a cold-blooded murderer and not a victim,” she asked. Other family members echoed her sentiments.

The agreement between the defense and prosecution avoided a trial that had been scheduled to start Monday before Circuit Judge Sherwood Bauer and had been expected to last three weeks.

The judge said Harrouff will remain in the Martin County Jail until he is taken to a secure mental health facility monitored by the Florida Department of Children and Families. Bauer said he will not be allowed to leave the facility without a court order.

Two mental health experts, one hired by the defense and another by prosecutors, examined Harrouff and found he suffered an acute psychotic episode during the attack, and could not distinguish between right and wrong. The trial had been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, legal wrangling and Harrouff’s recovery from critical injuries suffered while drinking a chemical during the attack.

Defendants are presumed sane under Florida law, meaning that Harrouff must show he had a severe mental breakdown that prevented him from understanding actions or that they were even wrong by “clear and convincing” evidence.

Craig Trocino, a University of Miami law professor, said that finding Harrouff not guilty by reason of insanity would effectively be a life sentence because “it’s highly unlikely” that they would risk releasing a killer as notorious as Harrouff.

Harrouff’s parents and others said he had acted strangely for weeks. His parents said they had set up an appointment for him to be evaluated, but the attack occurred first.

    1. I have always believed that the families of victims should have to approve ANY plea deals!!! Whether the DA thinks he has a good enough case to win or not should not determine that – the family should be able to decide whether to take the chance of taking it to court.
