Koala Bears?

Did you know that Koalas, or Koala Bears, are not actually bears as many people believe?!  They’re actually more closely related to kangaroos and wombats!  Check out these 18 fun and interesting facts about koalas & learn something new!

Koalas are only 25 to 35 inches long, and weigh just 30 pounds or less!

A baby koala which has been just born is usually less than 1 inch long.

A new-born koala usually stays inside the mother’s pouch for about six months.

The word koala means “An animal which does not drink”.

A koala mostly eats eucalyptus leaves and hardly drinks any water.

Like the kangaroo, they also have the ability to carry their babies in their pouch.

They actually do not belong to the bear family in any way.

A koala sleeps for around 20 hours a day.

They are not very social animals and usually stay alone.

Every male koala has a scent gland on the chest which they rub on the trees to mark their territories.

Only one baby koala is born per year to a female.

They communicate with each other by making a snore like sound which is followed by a belch.

A fully grown koala can eat approximately 2.2 pounds of leaves in a night.

A new-born cub has no fur on its body and the eyes and ears are also closed. Koalas are mostly found in Australia.

They have different fur type in different areas.

Gumtrees act as both food and place for living for koalas.

A koala gets fully grown in the fourth year of their life.

      1. the little fascist took the word of an underling instead of researching himself. this is unthinkable. this is not like the president taking the word of an expert in a field the president had no knowledge of. this is the little fascist’s FIELD of expertise …he should have done his own research and drew his own conclusions.

“Portland Antifa can claim total victory against Andy Ngo”
    By Andrea Widburg

ENTIRE ARTICLE @ AmericanThinker: “Superman had to deal with Bizarro World, a place in which everything is backward and evil is ascendant, and Andy Ngo has to contend with Portland, which pretty much seems to be the same. The latest travesty is that, after the judge heard Andy Ngo’s case against an Antifa activist whom Ngo filmed throwing a liquid at him and grabbing his phone, the judge not only gave the activist a pass, but the judge also scolded Ngo for daring to report Antifa activities.

Most people who followed Antifa’s activities in Portland, whether leftists or conservatives, are familiar with Andy Ngo. At great risk to himself, he reported what the Antifa gang was doing, whether silencing conservative speech, going to war against the city, state, and federal government in Portland, or physically attacking conservatives, including Ngo himself. In every case, Ngo has always had the video to prove that these attacks were real.

In May 2019, Ngo filmed John Hacker, an Antifa member, who threw a liquid at Ngo, threatened Ngo’s property, and then seized that property, returning it only when gym members implored him to do so: “The encounter at the gym was recorded by Ngo on his cell phone more than three years ago, and was finally played in court. The shaky video is less than 30 seconds long, but prosecutors say it’s a key piece of evidence showing Hacker approaching Ngo, grabbing the device, and yelling, ”I will break your f*cking phone.”

With the video in place, that ought to have been a slam dunk. Instead, following a bench trial, the judge concluded that the prosecutor had failed to show intent and that Ngo was just as much at fault as Hacker. What appeared to have moved the judge was the way Hacker’s defense attorney made Ngo responsible for being attacked (aka “victim shaming”):

“Hacker says he never intended to steal Ngo’s phone. Defense attorney Benjamin Scissors with law firm Mark C Cogan PC says his client grabbed the phone as a precautionary measure.

“Mr. Hacker had reasons to not want to be recorded by Mr. Ngo,” said Scissors, who cross-examined Ngo, accusing him of weaponizing his massive social media following. “Which left an impression on Mr. Hacker about Mr. Ngo’s ability to target people online,” said Scissors.

When the judge determined that Hacker didn’t really mean to attack Ngo and steal his phone, he also turned on Ngo himself: “After Judge Eric Dahlin delivered the verdict, he offered both men some advice in regards to their social media activity.

“If anyone is interested in actually making positive changes to society, I would ask that you all examine your own methods, and ask yourselves are these methods that I’m using helpful. Is it actually making a positive impact?”

(Hacker has been absolved of wrongdoing, so the rest of the discussion in this post speaks in general terms about Antifa, crime, and the judge’s opinion, without in any way accusing Hacker of engaging in criminal conduct.)

The judge, no doubt, felt himself to be a leftist Solomon, wisely distributing justice. Of course, Solomon, when he announced that he would split the baby was wise because he knew that the real mother would never allow her baby to be killed. The judge is a fool, who equates recording actual crimes committed in the public sphere (as Ngo has been doing since Antifa emerged on the scene) with actionable criminal activity. In his court, committing a crime and reporting the crime to the public (which is what the American media have done for more than 200 years) have the same moral weight.

What you have witnessed with this story is the left’s effective use of the “stochastic terrorism” label. Under this rubric, if conservatives such as Andy Ngo, Libs of TikTok, Matt Walsh, or the writers here at American Thinker publish an entirely factual report that reflects badly on leftists, they have committed “stochastic terrorism” by creating the circumstances in which leftists might pay a price for their dangerous or illegal activities.

So far, the left has relied on the stochastic terrorism label primarily to silence conservative reporting on leftist activities. However, with his closing speech to Hacker and Ngo, this judge just indicated to leftists that it may become a perfect legal defense for their future criminal activity.

Portland is a form of Bizarro World, but we’ve seen from the 2022 election results that the younger generation has bought into leftist theology hook, line, and sinker. Expect to see what happened there extend to other jurisdictions.”

  2. Cute story!

“You learn something new everyday, I don’t care how old you are!”

“Yeah man, I’m in line at the Piggly Wiggly yesterday morning and this old boy, must’ve been at least 90 years old or better, does that old man shuffle up behind me with only a couple items in his hands, and me being raised up right asked him if he’d like to go ahead of me seeing as I’ve got a full buggy. Ain’t no sense on him waiting on me for only a couple things. At his age, every second counts.

    I’m so glad I did.

Gramps put his stuff on the belt and shuffles up to where he’s right in front of the cashier and at the top of his lungs introduces himself because manners count, right? He’s obviously hard of hearing because like I said, he’s seeing 90 in the rearview and objects are NOT closer than they appear in that mirror.

Before Denise rings him up, he motions to her like he’s got a secret to tell her and she leans in, then he shouts to her, “My wife does all the shopping but she’s been feeling poorly lately, so she sent me down with this here banking card. I don’t know how to use it. Can you help me?” He’s hollering so loudly that it is no longer a secret to anybody in the entire store.

Denise smiles and hollers back, “Yessir, I’ll be more than happy to help you.” She rings him up, then steps over next to him and shows him which way to put the card in, then she asks, “Did your wife write down 4 numbers for you by any chance?” and he nods, reaches into his overalls pocket and pulls out a piece of scrap paper and tries to hand to her. She tells him no, don’t show anybody those numbers, it’s a secret code to his bank account, then shows him how to punch them in and tells him to wait until the keypad says Transaction Approved before he takes his card out.

He gets it on the first try. The receipt prints, Denise hands it and his bag of Ensure and sausage to him and hollers, “Thank you, sir. Have a good rest of your day.”
Gramps is incredulous. “That’s it? We done?” he shouts.

Denise smiles and says, “Yessir. Real easy, wasn’t it?”

He turns and looks at me and his incredulous look is quickly turning to outrage. His mouth is open and all three of his bottom teeth are showing. “Well, hellfire,” he blasts to the entire store, “Now I know why we’re so goddamned broke nowadays if she can spend our money that easy,” then he shuffles out of the store muttering that now he knows why that old woman of his insists on doing all the shopping.

The entire time, I’m standing there with a blank expression on my face because I know if I try to smile or talk, I’m going to start laughing and I don’t want to be rude, right?

As soon as he cleared the doors and I do mean 2 half-steps out, I busted out laughing along with Denise, Todd the manager who was in his office, and everybody else in the store.

Then I piped up and said “We really shouldn’t be laughing at the old boy. Why, I can remember my confusion the first time I used a bank card – forty years ago,” which sent everybody back into peals of laughter again.”

“Report: 41 Percent of Small Businesses Can’t Pay Rent This Month”
By The Center Square November 26, 2022 Updated: November 26, 2022

Entire Article @ EpochTimes: “More than 40 percent of U.S. small business owners say they couldn’t pay rent on time or in full for the month of November, the highest this year. The small business network group Alignable released the survey, which found that the hardship varies by industry. A notable 57 percent of beauty salons said they couldn’t make rent as well as 45 percent of gyms, 44 percent of retail, and 44 percent of restaurants.

“Making matters worse, this occurred during a quarter when more money should be coming in and rent delinquency rates should be decreasing,” Alignable said. “But so far this quarter, the opposite has been true.” This latest report continues a steady increase in businesses that can’t pay rent this year.

“Last month, rent delinquency rates increased seven percentage points from 30 percent in September to 37 percent in October,” Alignable said. “And now, in November, that rate is another four percentage points higher, reaching a new high across a variety of industries.”

Business owners cite a range of reasons for the difficulty making rent, including higher rent costs and lower revenue. But 60 percent cite inflation. “One indicator of the toll inflation is taking on businesses is a steep drop in the percentage of small businesses that are fully recovered, earning as much if not more than they did monthly prior to COVID,” Alignable said. “The percentage was 24 percent in October, but dropped to 14 percent in November—an all-time low.”

Michigan had the highest percentage of small business owners unable to make rent at 51 percent with New York in second at 49 percent and Massachusetts third highest at 45 percent. The survey queried 6,326 small business owners in November.”

  4. “New Thinking on ‘Mass Formation’ (Psychosis)” — By Paul Frijters, Gigi Foster, Michael Baker — NOVEMBER 23, 2022

EXCERPT: “As individuals slowly emerge from the fog that descended on them in March 2020, the sense of disorientation and anxiety is palpable. Some of those who took part in the fanaticism and bullying are rewriting or memory-holing what they actually said and did. Others have proposed a pandemic amnesty, as if everyone is just waking up after a drunken night and vaguely remembered they did some stuff they probably shouldn’t have, but hey, it was all well-intended. Everyone makes mistakes so let’s just move on.

What actually happened to the millions of people who kept the covid circus going? What forces were operating on their minds that are now finally starting to recede? Will another madness descend, and if so, why and when?

In his book, The Psychology of Totalitarianism, professor of clinical psychology Matthias Desmet talks about ‘mass formation,’ a phenomenon historically given the moniker ‘crowd formation.’ Desmet claims that most of the world population coalesced into a crowd in the early part of 2020. The narrative of that crowd came to dominate the public sphere, the political sphere, and the private sphere, making it classically ‘totalitarian,’ an event Desmet puts in a broad historical and technological perspective. The issues he raises are fundamental for understanding what is likely to happen next, and for charting our own roles as members of Team Sanity in the next few years.

  5. “From Covid to CBDC: The Path to Full Control”
BY Josh Stylman, November 21, 2022

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “It’s seemed evident for a while that the current fiat monetary system is, at best, unstable. At worst, it’s a Ponzi scheme whose time has expired. If that’s the case, I suspect the central bankers and 0.1% know this and might be prepared to usher in the new system before the old one collapses on itself – even as they loot it on the way down with the most significant wealth transfer in human history.

To anyone who pays attention to these trends, it seems evident that Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) will be that new system. Every indication is that CBDC’s arrival is imminent. Yesterday, several global banks announced a partnership with the NY Federal Reserve to pilot digital dollars. Given the ubiquity of credit/debit cards, payment apps, and other online payment systems, digital money has been bound to happen for some time. The risk isn’t the electronic part, that’s inevitable – it’s the fact that a central bank will oversee the digital currency.

From my vantage point, it’s impossible to overstate the risk presented by CBDC. Whether it’s a utopian vision based on good intentions or a sinister plot to crush our sovereignty, the result may be the same: control. A Central Bank Digital Currency has all the downsides of fiat money, plus the added layers of surveillance and programmability overseen by the state.

So many people on Team Reality have likely felt like dissidents over the last few years simply for challenging anything beyond the herd mentality. Asking questions or speaking against the narrative about topics including the likely origins of the covid virus, usefulness of PCR, risk to most of the population, benefits of early treatment, advantages of natural immunity, safety and efficacy of vaccines, pros and cons of masks/lockdowns, and the utility of vax passports created an environment where people were stigmatized, alienated or outright censored. Imagine a monetary system with features baked in to socially engineer how we live. For example:

Health: “You didn’t take your booster… sorry, you’re not allowed in public spaces.”
Energy: “You used your energy allotment this month… sorry, your electric car won’t start.”
Food: “You ate too much meat this week… sorry, your money is only good for plants (or bugs).”
Savings: “If you don’t take your rations soon, sorry, your money will expire at the end of the month.”
Free Speech: “You shared info that we disagree with, sorry, our algorithm is fining you.” (PayPal has already started doing this)

If CBDC ultimately becomes the new monetary system, its core features will make it so that world governments will no longer need something like a global health crisis to print money or close society. Lines of code can shape our behavior and ensure we’re forced to stay home. The entire platform will be designed to expel labor that is no longer deemed necessary. While I initially believed the state-led pharmacological interventions were an isolated, acute threat in this era, it’s become evident they were simply one tentacle in a much larger beast. Whatever forces are insinuating this direction on the world (looking your way, Davos), it’s revealed itself to be unrelenting in its pursuit of perpetuating fear and power.

I’m well aware that this must sound insane, especially to anyone that hasn’t paid attention to this trend for a while. A few years ago, I would have thought it was preposterous, but after witnessing the government’s lies, deception, and grab for control, I’ve become fearful that this may be where we’re headed.

When you consider that vaccine mandates had no medically justifiable purpose, it’s entirely plausible that they were simply an onramp to normalize a “papers please” society. In NYC, where I lived until recently, most people accepted vaxports and loved the Excelsior Pass mobile app because it was convenient. How many will feel the same about digital money, which will undoubtedly come with its share of benefits?

Central Bank Digital Currency will enable governments to impose top-down control, a la the Chinese Social Credit Score. Some central bankers are even saying the quiet part out loud. Whether or not this is the program’s objective, has there ever been a time in history when governments rejected the power they are given? At this stage, this isn’t some tinfoil hat theorizing, either. There are many examples of how this type of finance-driven coercion is already underway.

“Now the government is asking people to apply for plastic My Number cards equipped with microchips and photos, to be linked to driver’s licenses and the public health insurance plans. Health insurance cards now in use, which lack photos, will be discontinued in late 2024. People will be required to use My Number cards instead.”

“The new pass will guarantee the allocation of fuel quota on weekly basis. A QR code will be given for each National Identity Card number (NIC), once the vehicle identification number and other details are verified.”

“According to a report from 9News Queensland, the department has ruled that unvaccinated teachers who have been allowed to return to their employment this term after being placed on leave without pay, will cop yet another financial blow, with a “reduction in remuneration” for a period of 18 weeks.”

“The trial, which is voluntary, will use facial recognition to identify people and how many tickets they have. The technology could be extended to cover automated purchases at concession stands, restaurants, and bars.”

“As part of plans recently announced by the Government, Uganda will begin harvesting DNA and biometric data from its citizens when their cards expire in 2024 to be used in its redesigned digital identity program.”

This is just the tip of the iceberg, and it’s global. As we saw with the lockdowns, China is the model emulated in the West. Like the creep towards health-related authoritarian measures, unelected globalists with financial interests lurk in the background. I’d love to be wrong about all this. However, until there is evidence, we need to be suspicious of anyone perpetuating this dangerous path, regardless of their motivations.

For a deeper dive into this topic, I highly recommend this essay by Fabio Vighi about Long Covid Monetary Policy. Edward Dowd has also spoken extensively about the relationship between the monetary system and covid, including at this eye-opening presentation. Next, the excellent Maajid Nawaz has covered the drivers behind CBDC. Others, such as Marty Bent, Saifedean Ammous, and Allen Farrington, have been ahead of the curve in identifying these risks. I share their assessment in realizing that Bitcoin likely solves this.

If you have yet to notice, a primary theme of the last three-plus years (at least) is “freedom vs. control” so it’s not hyperbole to suggest that the future must be decentralized if we want to ensure our children grow up in a free world.”

They managed to scrape by with a 24-17 win but man, did they ever suck that 2nd half!!!! Haven’t talked to Mom yet today to see if she watched the whole thing at the bar or went home early! LOL

    1. It’s more than that – they went “woke”……

“San Antonio’s Black Rifle Coffee Co. has made a name for itself by leaning into America’s culture war. Now some right wing groups are souring on the combat veteran-owned java company that sells premium “freedom-filled” coffee to “people who love America” after founders attempted to distance themselves over the weekend from the extremists who have in recent years adopted their brand and message.

On Sunday, Black Rifle Coffee Co. was featured in a New York Times Magazine story headlined “Can the Black Rifle Coffee Company Become the Starbucks of the Right?” In the story, founders denounced the Proud Boys and other violent white nationalist groups that have “hijacked” the company’s brand.

Black Rifle Coffee Co. was founded in 2014 by a group of veterans who served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Lately, the Salt Lake City-based company that hosts retail stores in San Antonio and Boerne has become popular among conservative groups and far-right leaders thanks to its pro-firearm, pro-military and pro-police branding. It has also made headlines in recent years.

Kyle Rittenhouse, the Illinois teenager charged in the fatal shootings of two people at a Black Lives Matter protest in Wisconsin last summer, wore the company’s T-shirt after he bonded out of jail. Some of the rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 were decked out in apparel from two San Antonio companies — Black Rifle Coffee Co. and Grunt Style.

Evan Hafer, the co-founder of the company, told the Times: “How do you build a cool, kind of irreverent, pro-Second Amendment, pro-America brand in the MAGA era without doubling down on the MAGA movement and also not being called a [expletive] RINO by the MAGA guys?”

Hafer added: “The racism [expletive] really pisses me off. I hate racist, Proud Boy-ish people. Like, I’ll pay them to leave my customer base. I would gladly chop all those people out of my [expletive] customer database and pay them to get the [expletive] out.”

UNDER THE LEADERSHIP of Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron Desantis, a Missouri-based railroad and transport company that contributed generously in support of his campaign saw an astonishing 280-fold increase in its Florida state government contract awards. A construction aggregates firm that contributed $82,500 was awarded $30 million in new contracts. And a highway and civil site contracting firm that gave $22,500 saw its contracts grow 15-fold. They are just a few of the companies — mostly small and mid-sized construction firms — identified by The Intercept that saw a bonanza of lucrative contracts under the Republican governor, who has styled himself as a successor to Donald Trump and a foe to corporate America’s household names.

The railroad company, Herzog Contracting, only received $115,000 in contracts under former Republican Gov. Rick Scott and did not donate to his campaign. Since the 2018 gubernatorial race, by contrast, the firm has given $350,000 to DeSantis or his state committee and has so far received $32.7 million in contracts from the Florida Department of Transportation, including work on a commuter rail project. 10. “Newly Elected Conservative School Board Fires Superintendent, Bans Critical Race Theory”
    BY TYLER DURDEN
FRIDAY, NOV 25, 2022 – 04:00 PM – Authored by Jackson Elliott via The Epoch Times

“In one meeting, Deon Jackson went from South Carolina’s Berkeley County school superintendent to unemployed.

His firing came at the hand of a newly-elected school board, which appears to have declared a judgment day for woke practices in its district. In its first meeting after the Nov. 8 election, the board fired superintendent Jackson and school counsel Tiffany Richardson. Then it hired Anthony Dixon as superintendent and retained Brandon Gaskins as counsel. And before the day was over, the board banned teaching critical race theory and created a board to review library books for pornographic content.

Moms for Liberty, an activist group that supports parental rights in education, endorsed six of the board’s nine members. Many Moms for Liberty candidates won school board elections this November, as reported previously. The group’s leaders say more aggressive school management decisions may soon be in order.

In Berkeley, the candidates’ aggressive approach was a response to student discipline policies and slow learning post-COVID-19, said Christi Dixon, the Moms for Liberty chapter chair for Berkeley. “Parents were seeing that their children weren’t achieving at the levels that they had been previously. And there were a lot of changes,” Dixon said.
