  1. EXCERPT: “Europe has been beset with a number of public rapes in recent months involving foreigners, with a series of rapes in public areas hitting the Saxon city of Chemnitz. In the latest case, according to police, a 20-year-old woman said an Arab-looking man raped her right on the street while she was walking near the city’s town hall.

    The 20-year-old was walking home from the city center when a stranger approached her and began to follow her for a long period of time. At approximately 9:00 p.m., the man jumped her at Moritz Strasse and Zschopauer Strasse just 500 meters from the town hall. According to the Chemnitz police, the man performed “sexual acts” on the woman.

    The rape victim freed herself and ran from the scene of the crime. Witnesses saw the suspect run away in the other direction and called the police. Police descended on the scene but were unable to find the man. Armed with a description of the suspect, the police are calling for the public help to identify the man.”

    UPDATE, with video The View‘s Whoopi Goldberg announced on the show today that she’s leaving Twitter and called Elon Musk’s week-long tenure “a mess.”

    Goldberg made the announcement after summarizing last week’s Twitter news – the staff firings (and some rehirings), the $8 blue check fee and, finally, the banning of comedian Kathy Griffin for using Elon Musk’s name as a parody account.

    “I’m getting off today because I just feel like it’s so messy, and I’m tired of now having certain kinds of attitudes blocked now getting back on. So I’m gonna get out, and if it settles down enough and I feel more comfortable maybe I’ll come back. But as of tonight, I’m done with Twitter.”

    Goldberg’s reference to “certain kinds of attitudes” making a return on Twitter was an apparent allusion to an increase in racist and antisemitic posts on the platform.

    Co-host Sunny Hostin agreed with Goldberg’s assessment of Musk-era Twitter, saying, “It’s become such a hellscape.”

    “I follow legal scholars there, I follow SCOTUS blog, I follow thought leaders, and it’s such a good place for that,” Hostin said, adding, “And now you’ve got this Elon Musk turning it into something it was never intended to be. He says it’s going to be ‘the public square.’ Well, I don’t want to be part of that public square but I also don’t want to miss the valuable information that can be put on there.”

    Alyssa Farah Griffin, the show’s conservative voice, said she has a “love-hate relationship with Twitter,” appreciating the news that can be gotten from the platform but agreeing with Hostin that it’s become “a hellscape.”

    Co-host Ana Navarro, citing a recent European Union law that demands social media platforms combat misinformation, said, “I think it’s time the U.S. government take a look at this, because in the same way that we are regulated by the FCC and radio stations are regulated, frankly, a place like Twitter has far more reach and is far more dangerous.” As for Musk, she said, “he is there causing drama on a daily basis.”

    Goldberg wrapped up the segment by noting, “People keep saying it’s free speech, but all speech is not free speech. Some speech is not okay free speech. So everybody has to agree on that, but if people keep saying ‘You hurt my free speech” it’s going to be a problem. You know what? This is our problem. But it ain’t my problem today because I’m out.”

  10. these people are sneaky bastards…sneaking transgender “reproductive decisions” on the ballot but not disclosing that the proposed amendments do NOT stipulate age–meaning they are trying to get rid of parental consent for abortions and trans surgery including sterilization. KIDS cannot make these kinds of life altering decisions!!

    “Regardless of what you think about gender reassignment, the notion that children would be able to undergo gender change surgeries or hormones without parental knowledge is an extreme policy that is not supported by good moms and dads in Michigan,” Pollo told The Daily Signal. “Yet that is exactly what Proposal 3 would allow for. And it should be no surprise that Planned Parenthood is pushing for this: they are now the second-largest provider of gender hormone therapy and have ad campaigns targeting children with puberty blockers.”

    “If Proposal 3 passes, this won’t just be where they are headed—it will be a constitutional right,” she added.

    Two daily doses of zinc supplements taken orally cut the rate of death and intensive care unit admissions in COVID-19 patients, according to findings from a randomized controlled trial published Thursday in Clinical Infectious Diseases. The double-blind, multi-center trial by researchers in Tunisia compared the outcomes of 190 adult outpatients and 280 hospitalized patients randomly assigned to receive oral zinc or a placebo for 15 days between February and May. The 30-day death rate was 6.5% among the zinc recipients and 9.2% in the placebo group, and 5.2% and 11.3%, respectively, were admitted to an ICU. The zinc recipients were not less prone to hospitalization but reported shorter stays and fewer days of experiencing symptoms. “Our results showed that in COVID-19 patients, oral zinc can decrease 30-day death and ICU admission rate and can shorten symptoms duration,” the authors wrote.”
