How to Make a Mummy

NOTE: If you are squeamish, this is NOT the do-it-yourself project for you.

So, let’s say a king or other high-ranking official has died.  The embalmers would slit open the body and remove nearly all the organs.  These would be placed in ceremonial jars called canopic jars.

A few of the important organs, like the heart and the kidneys, were left in place.  The embalmers apparently thought the brain was useless (he’s a king or other official after all…lol) because in most cases, the brain matter was scrambled or shredded with small hooks inserted through the nostrils and pulled out through the nose using tiny spoons.  (The brain was then thrown away.)

Next the embalmers packed the body in oil of cedar (similar to turpentine) and natron, a special mineral with high salt content.  These chemicals slowly dried the body out, a process which took anywhere from 40-70 days.

The body was then completely dried out and “preserved” but that process rendered it shrunken and wrinkled like a prune.  The next step was to stuff the mouth, nose, chest cavities, etc. with sawdust, pottery, cloth and other items to fill it back out and make it look more human.  In many cases, the eyes were removed and replaced with artificial ones.

Then the embalmers doused the body with a waterproofing substance similar to tar, which protected the dried body from any moisture.  (In fact, the word mummy comes from the Persian word mumiai which means pitch or asphalt and was originally used to describe the preservatives themselves, not the corpse that had been preserved.)

Finally, the body was carefully wrapped in narrow strips of linen, and a funerary mask resembling the deceased was placed on the head.  Afterward it was laid in a large coffin that was carved and painted to look like the deceased, and the coffin was placed in a tomb outfitted with the everyday items the deceased would need in the afterlife.

    1. Good morning! Warmer here for a few days – 48 when I got up today – even possibly hitting 80 on Sunday. But that drops back down a couple of days later to “normal,” with low-to-high 30’s at night, some possible rain next Monday. Crossing fingers for that.

  8. FFS! with REALPOTUS there was NOT a reason for it, but if you can’t see the MANY reasons for impeaching ultra maggot–you’re blind!!!!
    FTA

The House GOP Leader, however, told Punchbowl News that Americans don’t ‘like impeachment used for political purposes at all,’ and said ‘the country wants to heal’ and see a ‘system that actually works.’

He also said that Republicans need to maintain their integrity by not turning around and engaging in the same politically-motivated actions that they railed against the opposing party for doing the last four years.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Attorney General Merrick Garland are the top two names that have been floated by some House Republicans as potential targets should the lower chamber turn red. Some Republicans have even floated impeaching Joe Biden.

McCarthy, asked if anyone within the administration has engaged in conduct that would cause him to consider impeachment, said: ‘I don’t see it before me right now.’

‘You watch what the Democrats did – they all came out and said they would impeach before Trump was ever sworn in,’ the California Republican congressman said. ‘There wasn’t a purpose for it.’

  9. AZ says, thanks we’re leaving the containers in place…LOL
    FTA
On Tuesday, a federal government official from the Border Patrol sent a generic letter to the state alerting officials of its intention to close four gaps in the border wall, according to a copy of the letter obtained by the Washington Examiner.

Shelly Barnes, the environmental planning lead within the Border Patrol’s program management office directorate, said the government would use “temporary mesh fencing and mechanized bollard vehicle gates” in place of the shipping containers and that it would start in early 2023.

“They want us to take down shipping containers and leave gaps open for who knows how long so they can put up what sounds like a chain link fence,” Karamargin said. “They’re asking to take down something so they can do something that we’ve already done. What Arizona needs is a permanent solution.”

Clark noted that the state was justified in its use of containers on federal land through an exemption in the law and that the containers would remain in place because he had seen no indication that the federal government intended to fill in the gaps.

“Since December 2021, numerous federal representatives have claimed that construction on the border would begin. However, to date, Arizona has not seen any action by the federal government to do so and was therefore required to take its own action,” said Clark. “For this reason, the containers will remain in place until specific details regarding construction are provided.”

  10. EXCERPT: “Today, the UN held a Consultative meeting between the State Parties to the Convention of the Prohibition of Biological Toxins and Weapons (BWTC), under Article V. Keep in mind this is the first time in history Article V has been utilized.

A joint statement was delivered by Russia, China, Belarus, Nicaragua, Zimbabwe, Cuba, Venezuela, and Syria; pertaining to the unresolved US biological laboratories in Ukraine.1

Essentially, these countries are pointing out that the UN Security Counsel have done nothing to resolve this pressing matter, and are demanding the UN Security Counsel do their job. See passage below.

“We have to conclude that the questions as to the military biological activities conducted by the United States in the context of the functioning of biological laboratories on the Ukrainian territory still remain unresolved. We have not received exhaustive explanations that could completely allay the doubts concerning the said activities and thus straighten out the situation that had prompted the Russian side to convene the Consultative meeting under BTWC Article V. This is regrettable.”

Now, your first reaction might be, “the UN is corrupt! This is pointless!”. And you would be partially correct.

However, the joint statement addresses this as well. Stating that the UN need to enact Article VI, which would be a cooperative formal investigation into alleged biological malfeasance by the Security Counsel, which is what we want.

The State Parties go on to address that the efficiency and mechanisms behind the BTWC may need to be evaluated at the upcoming Ninth Review of the Biological Weapons Conference, this November 28th-December 16th, 2022.2

“The outcomes of the event demonstrate the potential for strengthening the BTWC and improving its efficiency. The consultative meeting has confirmed the need to resume the negotiations on a legally binding protocol to the Convention, which should have a comprehensive nature and offer an effective verification mechanism. We hope that the States Parties will be able to adopt a relevant decision during the Ninth Review Conference of the BTWC.”

          1. We do that by posting on comment threads, spreading the word in person, writing LTE’s, etc. We all have different skills to put to use within our own little sphere of influence. The fact is, if you even want to get into politics, you pretty much have to be rich, not to mention having a suitable, level-headed personality (which I could never manage). I consider Todd Watson to be somewhat “well off,” but he can’t afford to run again so he has turned his focus to working within the community.

  12. EXCERPTS:

    “Thorp: a ‘useful idiot’

Holden Thorp, Ph.D., is a natural scientist, a competent but unexceptional chemist. He was still a young man when he moved from research to science administration. By the time he was 43, Thorp was chancellor of the University of North Carolina and later provost of Washington University in St. Louis. A decade later, he became editor-in-chief of Science — a meteoric rise to the pinnacle of the science bureaucracy.

As head of the most prestigious family of journals in the world, he has enormous authority — but how much real power does he really wield? He can keep his position so long as his writing and his policies comport with the interests that fund science and keep science in its place.

Fortunately, it is not in Thorp’s nature to rock boats — if it were, he would never have risen to the exalted status that he now enjoys. Thorp is a useful idiot with a 130 IQ. Last week, Thorp published a lead editorial in his own journal. It was a hit piece, targeting a man who is undoubtedly Thorp’s better — both in terms of scientific understanding and conscientious integrity.

And yet, I have little doubt that Thorp thought he was doing the right and noble thing. He has full faith in the scientific establishment. Why shouldn’t he? It is the same establishment that has recognized Thorp’s worth and elevated him to his present status. The editorial was published under the title, “Remember, do no harm?,” which we may read as a meme percolating from Thorp’s unconscious.

His target is Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo, M.D., Ph.D. If you are not yet unacquainted with Lapado, an inspiring life story awaits you. His biography almost convinces you that the American dream is alive and well.

    Ladapo: an ‘American dream’

As a child, Ladapo came to the U.S. from Nigeria with a family struggling to adjust. He excelled as a Wake Forest University undergraduate and won a place in the 2000 entering class of Harvard Medical School. With an M.D. and Ph.D. from Harvard, he went on to a career combining patient care with medical research and health policy at some of America’s top medical schools. He is yet a young man, who has authored 81 peer-reviewed publications.

When the COVID-19 pandemic was invented, Ladapo saw exactly what was happening, and he was courageous enough to write about it. He threw down the gauntlet with a series of guest editorials in the Wall Street Journal, beginning in April 2020, with the truth bomb that “Lockdowns Won’t Stop the Spread.” It was natural that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis would invite Ladapo to move to Florida to implement a sensible COVID-19 policy that includes the most effective early treatments and balances public health measures with personal liberties.

As a solid scientist with impeccable credentials, as a truthteller with a background that American progressives want to admire, as a credible voice with a subversive message, Ladapo is dangerous to the COVID-19 narrative and to the medical establishment. Thorp did not have to be told that protecting the establishment from such upstarts is central to his job description. Thorp’s editorial begins with guilt by an association that many of The Defender’s readers would join me in saying should be a source of admiration.

He writes: “When the advocacy group America’s Frontline Doctors appeared on the steps of the United States Supreme Court in 2020, falsely stating that hydroxychloroquine was a cure for COVID-19, their pronouncement was virally shared by right-wing media and soundly debunked by medical academicians.”

How many errors are squeezed into this one opening salvo? No one used the word “cure” in that July 27, 2020, White Coat Summit press conference. Experienced clinicians shared their successes using a protocol that had been promoted months earlier by Dr. Zev Zelenko. Why doesn’t Thorp cite any evidence that hydroxychloroquine doesn’t work? Why is there no footnote to tell us just how the claims of America’s Frontline Doctors were “debunked?”

And how dangerous is it to all of us who depend on research to guide our medical decisions when a person with Thorp’s reach and influence decides peremptorily that scientific debate must be squelched?

Thorp goes on to tender the outrageous presumption that “Ladapo’s faculty appointment was the result of political pressure by the university’s administration.” Here, he steps right over the obvious facts that the University of Florida was a step down from Ladapo’s prestigious appointment at the University of California, Los Angeles, and that a man of his credentials and background would be highly prized by any faculty in the country.

Thorp sidesteps the science and goes straight to name-calling and guilt by association. Clearly, Thorp is unfamiliar with the research — otherwise, he would have known that hydroxychloroquine, in combination with zinc, is an effective early treatment that has kept millions of COVID-19 patients out of the hospital.

You can read about it here and here and here and here. This website summarizes the results from 367 studies. If he had been motivated to read, Thorp would have known that the most egregious scandal in the history of The Lancet unfolded in the spring of 2020, when a study purporting to show that hydroxychloroquine was harmful to COVID-19 patients — a paper they had featured prominently — was revealed to be a fabrication.

Thorp slings the epithet “anti-vaxxer” as obvious grounds for dismissing the thoughtful and nuanced judgment of a man who knows much more about vaccines than he does. Readers of The Defender are accustomed to the fact that “anti-vaxxer” has been used to defame anyone who has the audacity to ask why different rules should be applied by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in evaluating vaccines compared to every other medication.

Thorp knows none of this. But as Upton Sinclair pointed out, “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.” Thorp is doing his job, defending the medical establishment against people who have disruptive ideas, ideas that threaten “consensus,” threaten careers or threaten profits. Men like Thorp are useful because they don’t question the narrative, they have no time to do their own research, and they are just smart enough to make conventional “science” sound credible to those who don’t know any better.

Maybe Schwinger was right: Censorship will be the death of science. But I don’t think so. Established institutions backed by government contracts and corporate interests may look like unassailable fortresses in the moment — but scientific truth always triumphs in the end.”

  13. Excerpt @ CHD (Dr. Mercola):

    Story at a glance:

    – Antibodies have been uncovered that are so effective at neutralizing COVID-19 — and all of its variants — that they believe the antibodies could serve as an “effective substitute for vaccines.”

    – The antibodies — TAU-1109 and TAU-2310 — bind to a different area of the spike protein than other antibodies, one that doesn’t undergo many mutations

    – TAU-1109 is 92% effective at neutralizing the omicron strain and 90% effective at neutralizing the delta strain.

    – TAU-2310 has an efficacy rate of 84% at neutralizing omicron and a 97% efficacy rate against the delta variant.

    – The researchers believe that with effective antibody treatment, “we will not have to provide booster doses to the entire population every time there is a new variant.”

Researchers at Tel Aviv University revealed two antibodies that are so effective at neutralizing SARS-CoV-2 — and all of its variants — that they believe the antibodies could serve as an “effective substitute for vaccines.”

One of the glaring failures surrounding COVID-19 shots is their lack of effectiveness against emerging COVID-19 strains. By choosing the spike protein on which to base COVID-19 shots, scientists picked a protein that not only was known to be toxic to humans but was not the part of the virus that prompted the best immune response.

Spike protein mutates rapidly, which essentially destroys virtually any protection that the shot provides shortly after it’s given. The end result is a seemingly never-ending series of annual shots and boosters, which can only offer rapidly waning protection.

If the Israeli researchers’ findings are verified and the antibodies turn out to be as effective as suspected, it could eliminate COVID-19 booster shots entirely.”

  15. EXCERPT: “A crippling ransomware attack on the second-largest U.S. nonprofit health system is showing how much patients can be left in the dark when critical health care infrastructure goes down.

Why it matters: The attack earlier this month on CommonSpirit Health, which has 142 hospitals in 21 states, left IT locked, delayed surgeries and caused widespread disruptions in patient care. It also left millions of patients waiting at least two weeks to learn if their personal information was compromised, experts say.

What they’re saying: “We don’t know what was disrupted,” Israel Barak, chief information security officer of Boston-based Cybereason, told Axios. For instance, patients don’t know what sort of potential disruptions this has caused to certain services or procedures and they have no idea the extent their personal information might have been stolen, Barak said.

“As consumers of these services we don’t have a way to control our destiny or manage our risk,” Barak said.”

  16. Holy shit! How bad IS TikTok?????

Entire Article @ BBC: “TikTok is raising its minimum age for livestreaming from 16 to 18 from next month. A BBC News investigation found hundreds of accounts going live from Syrian refugee camps, with children begging for donations.

Some were receiving up to $1,000 (£900) an hour – but when they withdrew the cash, TikTok had taken up to 70%.

In future, only adults would be able to “send virtual gifts or access monetisation features”, TikTok said. And, “in the coming weeks”, it would let users run adult-only livestreams. It is unclear how TikTok will enforce these age restrictions, however.

Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, and Google, which owns YouTube, have a minimum livestreaming age of 13 and already allow users to age-restrict content they upload.

    Digital gifts

For five months, the BBC’s Global Disinformation Unit, BBC Arabic and BBC Eye Investigations followed more than 300 TikTok accounts livestreaming from north-west Syria. TikTok’s rules say you must not directly solicit for gifts and must “prevent the harm, endangerment or exploitation” of minors on the platform.

When News BBC used the in-app system to report 30 accounts featuring children begging, TikTok said there had been no violation of its policies in any of the cases. After BBC News contacted TikTok directly for comment, the company banned all of the accounts.

TikTok said this type of content was not allowed on its platform and its commission from digital gifts was significantly less than 70% but still has not confirmed the exact amount.”

  17. “The new rule will require a Congressional majority to obtain Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) protected under the Bank Secrecy Act.

The decision by the Treasury Department was discovered after House Oversight Committee ranking member James Comer, R-Ky, requested a SARs for Hunter Biden. His request was rejected on the grounds that he didn’t have the backing of a Congressional majority.

“The Biden Administration changed the rules to severely restrict Congress’ access to suspicious activity reports in the dark of night and with no explanation,” Comer told Fox News Digital on Thursday. “We now know Hunter Biden and other Biden family members have racked up at least 150 suspicious activity reports for their shady foreign business deals.”

“The Treasury Department’s sudden change of longstanding policy appears to be a broader pattern by the Biden Administration to run cover for Hunter Biden and possibly hide information about whether Joe Biden benefited financially from the Biden family’s business transactions,” he continued. “The American people deserve answers and the Biden Administration must comply with congressional oversight.”

The Treasury Department told FOX News that the new rules were meant to “standardize” the process and help protect the information’s confidentiality from Congressional overreach. Despite their justifications, Rep Comer’s sentiment was backed up by Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas, who called Hunter’s dealings a “threat to our national security”.

“It’s simple – Hunter Biden is a threat to our national security and Americans deserve to know if his business transactions put our country’s well-being at risk,” Fallon said to Fox News Digital. “For weeks, the Biden Administration has denied Ranking Member Comer’s access to Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) surrounding Hunter Biden’s business endeavors.”

HUNT IS ON: Hunter Biden laptop report with evidence of sex & drug ‘crimes’ sent to Congress & lawmakers are ready to investigate. The Marco Polo organization found 459 violations of state and federal laws including 191 sex-related offenses. The article notes, if Republicans take the House it is expected they will launch a Congressional investigation into the laptop. This could mean that associates of the Biden family are called to Congress to give evidence under oath on live TV. This is a big deal.

For whatever crazy reason, WM once again did not have any of the full size coffee filters – they had stacks and stacks of the small ones. I always get the generic for less than $1, just a regular package. Now, they are close to $3. I went to HyVee and found them there, then wandered around for a while looking at prices. I don’t recall specific prices but everything was way up in both stores. A 2+ oz bottle of Cinnamon powder was over $8 at WM!!!!

The pastries at HyVee? Incredible! A package of 4 cinnamon buns was $6!!! Same for a package of 3 Cinnamon Crispies!!! SIX DOLLARS!!!! Simple varieties of cookies? $4 for maybe 6 cookies? Sometimes only 4!!! Same for only 4 muffins.

HyVee did have some of the frozen meals that I can eat on sale 2/$6 – Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers Sesame Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken, Chicken Fajita, and Honey Glazed Turkey w/veggies. I haven’t tried the Fajita one before but I do love them so I’ll give it a shot.

That should hold me a while! I’ve also still got chili and am going to make more soon, and bean soup. Grabbed a bag of Milky Way bars, too – my all-time favorite is Snickers but I can’t eat the nuts. And I am back on my smoothies – ALL peach! Yummer!

  21. EXCERPTS: “Liz Truss has resigned as Britain’s prime minister after just 45 days in office, making her the shortest-serving prime minister in British history.
    ——————
Difficulties arose for Liz Truss last month when she and her then Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng announced a mini-budget, which outlined the government’s intention to cut taxes and cancel a number of tax hikes that had been announced by Boris Johnson’s former chancellor, Rishi Sunak.

The announcement frightened markets, resulting in a drop in the value of sterling and volatility in the usually stable bond prices. Interest rates and inflation have continued to rise to worrying levels, although it should be stated that there are numerous external factors for the economic instability and similar scenes are being witnessed across the globe.

Despite a brief rally during Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday, further political instability saw Home Secretary Suella Braverman resign and hit out at Truss’ failing government as she expressed concern in the trajectory of the administration away from the party’s 2019 general election manifesto commitments to curb migration.

And late on Wednesday night, a frantic vote in the House of Commons over whether to move away from the party’s commitment to ban fracking in light of the current energy crisis saw both the party’s chief whip and deputy chief whip resign, only to unresign; this as parliamentarians headed to the voting lobbies unsure as to whether or not the vote was a confidence motion after conflicting messages arose from Downing Street.

A chaotic 24 hours in Downing Street came to a head on Thursday at lunchtime with crisis talks between the prime minister; her deputy Therese Coffey; the chairman of the backbench committee, Sir Graham Brady; and the Conservative party chairman Jake Berry at 10 Downing Street. By the time of the statement from Truss, 16 Conservative MPs had publicly called for her to step down.

What happens next is not entirely clear. In ordinary times, there would typically be a leadership contest stretched out over a number of weeks, in which the Conservative parliamentary party would vote for candidates in a ballot and whittle down the contenders to two, which would then be put to the party membership across the country. This is how Liz Truss was elected just a matter of weeks ago after beating former Chancellor Rishi Sunak in the two-way ballot.

Truss, however, indicated that a leadership contest would take place “within the next week,” suggesting that parliamentarians may bypass membership and seek a unity candidate themselves who will attempt to steer the country and the party through the current turbulent economic and political landscape as the Conservatives repress calls from the leader of the opposition, Sir Keir Starmer, to call a general election.

A move to bypass the membership would, however, deviate from the party’s constitution and need sign-off from the Conservative party’s executive board.

Two-time failed leadership candidate and current Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has confirmed via a spokesperson that he will not be standing for the leadership.”

  22. Will you look at this shit……!!!!

Entire Article @ REMIX: “Former U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to stand in the Conservative leadership election to be concluded by next Friday following the resignation of Liz Truss, according to The Times’ political editor, Steven Swinford.

Swinford tweeted on Thursday that he had been told the former Conservative leader, still hugely popular among the party’s grassroots membership, is understood to be “taking soundings” and believes his candidacy is “a matter of national interest.”

Truss resigned after just 45 days in the job on Thursday, telling the country in a statement outside 10 Downing Street that she was unable to “deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative party.”

The Conservative party executive board is understood to be meeting later on Thursday to devise the structure for a shortened leadership contest; it is currently unclear whether or not, and if so, how the membership will be consulted.

Brady confirmed to U.K. media that the leadership contest will be concluded by Friday, Oct. 28. When asked whether the Conservative membership will get a vote, he replied: “That is the expectation.”

Current Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has already ruled himself out of the running, as has former leadership hopeful Michael Gove. Other front runners yet to confirm their candidacy include Defence Minister Ben Wallace, Leader of the House of Commons Penny Mordaunt, Secretary of State for International Trade Kemi Badenoch, and former Chancellor Rishi Sunak.”

  23. owner of the computer store sues hunter and ultra maggot campaign…
    FTA
The owner of the Delaware computer repair store where Hunter Biden abandoned his MacBook filed suit against Hunter Biden, the Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign, Rep. Adam Schiff, CNN, and Politico in Delaware state court on Monday. The eight-count complaint alleged claims of defamation, civil conspiracy, and civil aiding and abetting against the defendants based on statements they made after the New York Post published the scandalous materials recovered from Hunter’s laptop.

John Paul Mac Isaac found himself thrust into the public eye after the New York Post on Oct. 14, 2020, published an exposé about the contents of the laptop Hunter Biden had abandoned at Isaac’s Delaware computer repair store. No sooner had the news broken than Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and backers of the Democrat candidate called the story Russian disinformation.

While Hunter Biden refused to comment on the story before the November 2020 election, after President Biden found himself safely in the White House, Hunter sat down with CBS News and when asked, “Was that your laptop?” the president’s son replied: “I really don’t know what the answer is. I have no idea.” But when pushed on whether the laptop could be his, Hunter responded: “There could be a laptop out there that was stolen from me.” “It could be that I was hacked. It could be that it was the — that it was Russian intelligence. It could be that it was stolen from me.”

Isaac’s lawsuit against Hunter alleges that, contrary to Hunter’s claims, he knew the laptop was his, as Hunter knowingly left the laptop with Isaac on April 12, 2019, and then a short time later returned to the store with an external hard drive for Isaac to transfer the data recovered from the laptop hard drive. Yet Hunter “knowingly broadcast the false and defamatory information about his laptop to third parties — viewers of the interview” that imputed that Isaac was “involved in one or more crimes including, theft of his laptop, hacking of his laptop, or being part of a plot by Russian intelligence.”

The Delaware store owner also sued the “Biden for President Campaign Committee,” or “BFPCC,” which served as Joe Biden’s presidential campaign. According to his complaint, the members of the BFPCC claimed the New York Post exposé was “a Russian disinformation operation.” A senior Biden campaign adviser would repeat that theme in an interview on MSNBC, saying that if then-President Trump “decides to amplify these latest smears against the vice president and his only living son, that is Russian disinformation.”

  24. dem members of congress want generational change in leadership…pilgosi scoffs–nothing like experience…
    FTA
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Oct. 18 brushed aside calls by a member of her caucus for new leadership.

The comments in question were made by Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), who said during a TV appearance that the party needs “new blood” to lead it moving forward.

“I have been very vocal, including with my own leadership in the House, that we need a new generation. We need new blood, period, across the Democratic Party, in the House, the Senate, and the White House,” Slotkin told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“I’ve said I think we need new leaders. I would love to see some Midwestern leaders in there, right? That’s been important to me, is to reflect the middle of the country,” she said. “We’re here too, and I do think new blood is a good thing.”

During a later appearance on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchel,” Pelosi acceded the need for some “generational change,” but emphasized the importance of experienced leaders.

“Yes, we need generational change,” Pelosi said. “Of course we do. But in some cases there’s no substitute for experience.”

“John Fetterman’s campaign is citing a political donor’s note as proof that the Senate hopeful has a clean bill of health.

In a letter released by Fetterman’s team, Dr. Clifford Chen said Fetterman has “significantly improved” following his stroke and “can work full duty in public office.” The campaign released the letter—which it called a “medical report”—following calls from media outlets for the Pennsylvania Democrat’s health records.

Chen’s political leanings could raise questions about his medical assessment of Fetterman, whose race against Republican Mehmet Oz could determine which party controls the Senate. According to campaign finance records, Chen has given tens of thousands of dollars over the years to Democratic candidates and party committees. He contributed $1,330 to Fetterman’s campaign, including a $500 donation in June 2021, before he became Fetterman’s doctor. Chen donated to other Senate candidates running in close races this cycle, including Rep. Val Demings (D., Fla.) and Sen. Raphael Warnock (D., Ga.).

“This isn’t about politics,” Fetterman campaign spokesman Joe Calvello told the Washington Free Beacon. “It’s an independent, detailed medical report written by John’s primary care doctor based on his latest office visit from last week.”

Fetterman initially downplayed the severity of his stroke and has struggled to speak clearly and process sound during campaign events and interviews. Fetterman’s stroke was caused by a heart condition he was diagnosed with in 2017 but failed to disclose until after his health scare.

Fetterman’s supporters have gone on the attack amid questions about his health. His wife Gisele Fetterman said there should be “consequences” for an NBC News reporter who grilled Fetterman last week about his recovery and his reliance on closed-captioning to conduct interviews. She also blasted the Washington Post editorial board last month over a piece asserting that Fetterman had “squandered credibility” by refusing to release his medical records. Gisele Fetterman said the reliably liberal newspaper published the story for “clicks.”

Chen said in the letter he has been in routine contact with Fetterman’s neurologist and cardiologist about his recovery. “Overall, Lt. Governor Fetterman is well and shows strong commitment to maintaining good fitness and health practices. He has no work restrictions and can work full duty in public office,” Chen wrote. Chen did not respond to a request for comment.”

Journalists and other left-wing activists are freaking out over a New York Times poll that shows Republicans leading Democrats by 4 percentage points among likely voters ahead of next month’s midterm elections. They were particularly aggrieved by the poll’s finding that Republicans were tied with Democrats at 47 percent among female voters and were supported by 34 percent of Hispanic voters and 18 percent of black voters. Those are terrible numbers for Democrats.

We don’t know how the election is going to play out, but at least one thing is guaranteed: If Democrats lose, they are going to blame everyone but themselves for the outcome. Here are the top 10 scapegoats Democrats are likely to blame for the party’s poor performance at the ballot box in November.

    10) Vladimir Putin — The Russian dictator’s ill-advised invasion of Ukraine caused a surge in oil prices, which forced voters to support Republicans. (Never mind that President Joe Biden responded by depleting the U.S. strategic petroleum reserve while blocking efforts to expand domestic oil production.) If Democrats lose, there’s a good chance that some politicians and media pundits will suggest (without evidence) that Russian hacking played a role in their defeat.

    9) The Saudis — Pundits are already accusing the Saudis of conspiring to damage Democrats in the midterms after OPEC+ member states announced a steep cut in oil production earlier this month. It’s just not fair, especially since Biden debased himself by bumping fists with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman after promising to make the Saudi leader a “pariah.”

    8) The Federal Reserve — Ryan Cooper, managing editor of the left-wing American Prospect, responded to the Times poll by lashing out at the Federal Reserve for raising interest rates and “failing to contain inflation.” Fed chairman Jerome Powell, he wrote on Twitter, was “going to hand Congress to the GOP” and lay the ground for Republicans to “abolish democracy” and “do a bunch of heinous gestapo shit” because “normie swing voters” were concerned about inflation.

    7) The Lincoln Project — This would be giving the Lincoln Project too much credit, but a poor showing in the midterms might finally make Democrats angry enough to denounce these shameless grifters for raking in millions from liberal donors that might otherwise have gone to organizations that care about winning elections.

    6) President Joe Biden — If Democrats get wiped out in November, expect more calls for Biden to leave office after one term. The president will turn 80 on Nov. 20, and a poor showing in the midterms will increase the likelihood that some ambitious young Democrats will start gunning for the party’s nomination in 2024. That doesn’t mean nominating someone like Pete Buttigieg, Gavin Newsom, or Kamala Harris would give them a better chance of winning, but Biden is too old and forcing him to run again would be a cruel form of elder abuse.

    5) White women — Democrats losing control of Congress will inspire at least a dozen think pieces about how white women are complicit in the “dismantling of democracy” because they don’t agree with Elizabeth Warren, a white woman who advanced her career by pretending to be Native American. The vast majority of these vacuous screeds will be written by white women pretending to be journalists.

    4) The media — Democrats hate it when journalists report the facts without adding additional “context” about why Democrats are good and Republicans are bad. Last week, for example, they denounced an NBC News journalist for reporting that John Fetterman, a stroke victim and Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, had trouble understanding her while conversing without the aid of a captioning device. Some critics accused NBC News of promoting “violence towards disabled people.” Democrats will inevitably complain that mainstream outlets should have spent less time covering inflation, crime, and immigration—issues voters actually care about—as opposed to the January 6 hearings.

    3) “Hispanic white supremacists” — If the Republican Party’s share of the Hispanic vote continues to grow in 2022, journalists and other partisan Democrats will lose their minds. Expect to see an explosion of hot takes about how Hispanics who don’t vote for Democrats are betraying their own community and imperiling democracy by embracing white supremacy.

    2) “Jim Crow 2.0” — Stacey Abrams repeatedly questioned the legitimacy of her defeat in the Georgia gubernatorial election in 2018 and faced zero consequences from our media gatekeepers. She is almost certain to lose again this year, and hers probably won’t be the only race in which pundits suggest Republicans won due to so-called voter suppression, or “Jim Eagle,” in the words of our eloquent commander in chief.

    1) The voters — The most predictable scapegoat. Some will suggest American voters were “duped” by so-called misinformation, which is just a polite way of saying their fellow Americans who don’t have a fancy college degree are too stupid to think for themselves, or as one lib Twitter user responded to the Times poll showing a Republicans lead, “We are honestly just a dumb fucking species.” Look out for hot takes about how Americans just voted to reinstitute slavery and create a real-life version of The Handmaid’s Tale because they wanted cheaper gas and groceries.

UPDATE: Joy-Ann Reid, the “pro-democracy” journalist who hosts a low-rated show on MSNBC, never fails to deliver the goods:

‘It’s terrifying how many Americans will choose literal fascism, female serfdom, climate collapse and the reversal of everything from Social Security & Medicare to student loan relief bc they think giving Republicans the power to investigate Hunter Biden will bring down gas prices.’

  27. The Bee:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — With Ketanji Brown Jackson joining a growing number of women on the United States Supreme Court, Justice Clarance Thomas has taken to wearing noise-canceling headphones to help drown out the incessant chatter.

“What on earth do these womenfolk need to be talking about all the time?” said Thomas. “Why do you need 11,000 words to discuss whether a man using a girl’s bathroom is a First Amendment right? The Constitution ain’t that complicated! I can’t take it anymore!”

Thomas then turned up the volume on his favorite Megadeath album Rust in Peace and put his head down, waiting for the ladies to finish their extremely drawn-out legal arguments.

Justices Alito, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch have also found ways to cope with the increased noise level, often sneaking away to the bathroom to smoke a cigarette while waiting for oral arguments to finish. “I took up smoking just so I’d have an excuse to get away. This is bad for my health!” complained Kavanaugh.

At publishing time, Ketanji Brown Jackson and Amy Coney Barrett were still in the middle of an hours-long debate on the 14th Amendment and how it related to what Cheryl next door said on Facebook while they were dropping their kids off at soccer practice. Justice Thomas was still in the corner listening to some pre-Reputation Taylor Swift.
    —————–

ATHENS, GA – Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams shocked Americans this week when she insisted we need abortion because “having children is why you’re worried about the price of gas.” She later followed up her comments by reminding everyone they can reduce their bills to zero by just killing themselves.

“As it turns out, not being alive anymore solves almost all economic problems,” said Abrams on Morning Joe. “And if there are fewer people alive, that means fewer mouths to feed and fewer problems in general! I’m very compassionate!”

Abrams’ comments have drawn adulation from her supporters, as they are mostly Communists who get very annoyed at the thought of too many people being alive. Some even called for Abrams to add an innovative “bodies-for-gas” proposal to her talking points, with mobile abortion clinics and suicide booths available at all Georgia gas stations for maximum convenience. Other supporters have recommended that Abrams help Georgians struggling with high hospital bills by euthanizing their grandmothers.

“We applaud Stacy Abrams’ unwavering commitment to raging against the creator of the universe by destroying human life in pursuit of material goods,” said local campaign organizer Lucille Wormwood. “These are the kinds of values Georgians want in public office.”

At publishing time, Stacey Abrams had committed to turning Georgia’s economy around by implementing a one-child policy.

CUPERTINO, CA — Apple, Inc. has once again astounded customers and shareholders alike by releasing new Airpods that conveniently come with one already lost for you.

Shares of Apple (AAPL) rose sharply following news that customers will soon open new Airpod cases and see that one of them is lost, a feature that used to occur days — sometimes even weeks — after purchase.

“Wow, Apple read my mind by losing one of them before I even have to think about it,” said one customer demoing an Airpod at a local Apple Store. “So innovative.”

Apple CEO Tim Cook later tweeted that not only do the new Airpods intuitively provide that dreadful sense of loss from the get-go but that the move has also saved Apple, Inc. a ton of money in production. He then added that all Airpod buyers will have the amazing opportunity to be forced to enjoy the entire library of his favorite band, The Crash Test Dummies, free with each purchase.

At publishing time, Apple had announced the release of a new Macbook Pro that shouts “Peasant!” at anyone nearby not using a Macbook Pro.”

  28. Wow! REALLY long and detailed article, with a ton of info – I do have to say, the Sun isn’t always innocent about putting out fake stuff or tweaking things occasionally so keep that in mind:

EXCERPT: “MEMBERS of Congress have received a bombshell report into hundreds of alleged crimes found on Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell,” The Sun can reveal. Marco Polo, a group led by a former President Donald Trump staffer that has been investigating the laptop, today sent its findings to all 535 members of the House and the Senate.

District Attorneys and US Attorneys for the jurisdictions where alleged crimes by President Joe Biden’s son took place have also been sent a copy. The group’s founder Garrett Ziegler believes it has uncovered a total of 459 documented violations of state and federal laws on the laptop.

It includes 140 alleged business-related crimes, 191 sex-related offenses and 128 drug-related crimes. The release of Marco Polo’s report comes after a 13-month-long investigation and ahead of crucial midterm elections on November 8, which could change the balance of power in Washington.”

Colorado: 30,000 noncitizens got vote registration mailer – OCTOBER 11, 2022

Colorado’s secretary of state office says it mistakenly sent postcards to about 30,000 noncitizens encouraging them to register to vote, blaming the error on a database glitch related to the state’s list of residents with driver’s licenses.

The office of Democratic Secretary of State Jena Griswold insisted none of the noncitizens will be allowed to register to vote if they try.

Registration error affects up to 6,000 Arizona voters
The Arizona registration error affected less than a quarter of 1% of voters, according to Secretary of State Katie Hobbs

A voter registration error caused up to 6,000 Arizona voters to get a mail ballot with only federal races, Secretary of State Katie Hobbs said Tuesday.

Hobbs, who is the Democratic nominee for governor, said in a statement that affected voters will receive the correct ballot shortly.
