What Shall We Make Today?

This is one of my favorite recipes from my grandmother.  When my dad was growing up, times were tough, and nothing got wasted.  Whenever there was some leftover mashed potatoes, too much to throw away, but not enough for anyone to have with another meal, my Grandmother would make potato candy.  Since it was a favorite of mine, when I got old enough, Grandma taught me how to make it.  You can always make potato candy with a freshly cooked potato though never fear—you can cook a potato just for this!  If you wish to go that route, peel and cook the potato, drain, and then mash with a little butter and milk—omit salt, pepper or anything else.  Cool completely.  (If you are using leftover mashed potatoes, allow them to come to room temperature.)

Potato Candy

Mashed potatoes at room temperature

Powdered sugar

Flour

Peanut butter

You’ll notice there are no specific amounts given for the ingredients, that’s because it all depends on the amount of mashed potatoes you start with.  A few tablespoons are more than enough to begin with.  You’ll need several cups of powdered sugar to start with.  You’re going to mix that with the potatoes to form a stiff dough.  I add a little sprinkling of flour to the dough to avoid adding more and more powdered sugar.  It will be very sweet.  Grab a piece of the potato “dough” and roll it out on a lightly floured board.* (Grandma taught me to use my hands to press it out rather than “dirty the rolling pin”.)  Thick or thin is a personal choice—I leave mine a little thicker.  Spread peanut butter on the dough (again, your preference as to how much peanut butter.) Roll up like a jelly roll and slice.  Repeat with the rest of the dough.  Chill.  This freezes for a long, long time.

The picture above shows one long roll, but I use smaller pieces of dough to make several rolls.  It’s much easier and less messy in my opinion, but the picture gives you an idea of what you’re shooting for. Enjoy!

*Some recipes call for the dough to be rolled out in powdered sugar, that would make it even sweeter, but that’s an option if you prefer.

    1. Good morning, Pat! We’re finally getting some of that rain – a light rain but it’s rain! The custard cup was about 1/3 full of rain this morning, which was nice to see. We need several days of this but I’ll not complain. Still nice and cool, too!

My a-Mom used to take leftover mashed potatoes and make fried potato cakes – yummy! Never crossed my mind that spuds could be used for candy! Interesting!

        1. No recipe per se – she would mix in some bacon bits, maybe some green onions or garlic or other spices, then add a little flour to firm them up a bit before frying them in butter, altho she always used margarine – Blue Bonnet, IIRC.

America has never suffered this kind of ABUSE in Law Enforcement! For the FBI to RAID the home of the 45 President of the United States, or any President for that matter, is totally unheard of and unthinkable. This Break In was a sneak attack on democracy (our Republic!), and was both unannounced and done at a time when the President was not even present. It was for political, not legal reasons, and our entire Country is angry, hurt, and greatly embarrassed by it. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

    I must have misunderstood.

I thought the purpose of the rally was for Kari, Blake and the others. To endorse and support them in their election campaign here in Arizona.

I tuned in to hear Kari speak. She is awesome.

    It went downhill after that.

If it was a drinking game-take a shot for each time DeSantis said Florida-after 5 minutes everyone would have been passed out stone cold on the floor.

I feel insulted. It’s like inviting someone into your home and they start talking about how great their furniture is.

We are a great State. Yes, we have problems. All states do.

We only have about 6 million people. Florida has 20 million. Of course they are going to have a bigger budget surplus than we do.

Florida signed CRT January of this year. We signed ours last summer.

We didn’t force our State workers to get the jab.

They have no income tax. I do believe we have lower property tax. Plus, our minimum wage is 12.80 vs. Florida 10.00 .

We have school choice and vouchers 6500.00 per child. Our Public Schools are the worst. That is why we have just over 600 charter schools. And then we have parochial, private and a lot of homeschooling.

That is just off the top of my head.

So for him to continue to throw out .Florida..Florida.Florida.

And at an event I must have mistakenly believed was for my States candidates. Yeah. I feel insulted. I wouldn’t go to his state and just talk about Arizona. It was..rude.

Why was he there? I see no purpose at this time. Our priority is to get Kari and the other MAGA candidates elected.

Who was he “campaigning” for-Florida? No one is opposing him there.

Did I feel unity, uplifting, ready to go out and vote…no I felt insulted. The AZ media is going to have a field day with this event. And I am praying his behavior does not boomerang back on to Kari.

She doesn’t deserve it. We didn’t deserve to be lectured on how great he has been for Florida.

He has been a great Governor for Florida. He will be an even better Governor his second term.

He is the guest I would not invite again.

PS every one- sorry for the rant.

  3. so there’s a super secret committe that NO ONE in the gov’t has oversight over, that conducts reviews and determines whether gain of function is going on and is it dangerous? AND we don’t get to know WHO IS ON THE DANG COMMITTEE EITHER?
    FTA
We also learned during the hearing that Chief Medical Advisor to the President Dr. Anthony Fauci has been lying to us – shocking, I know.

The three elite scientists all agreed that this was dangerous research. Two of the three absolutely said it was gain-of-function. The third said it was dangerous research and should have gone before a committee.

This is all despite Fauci saying that the NIH has never funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan, and it has been reviewed and doesn’t meet the definition set by the Department of Health and Human Services’ P3CO review committee, which is responsible for evaluating the risks & benefits of such research.

The P3CO committee was formed in 2017. This was after gain-of-function research funding was suspended by the Obama administration in 2014 and was only allowed to restart in 2017 because of this new committee review process.

We learned that the P3CO committee that is supposed to review these viruses is secret. We don’t know the names of the committee members. We don’t have any records of their meetings. It’s top-secret. Congress is not allowed to know. The public isn’t allowed to know.

We do know that they’ve met three times and have reviewed three of thousands of gain-of-function research project proposals, none of which have been related to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The issue with all of this is that Fauci unequivocally claims that the NIH does not fund gain-of-function research in Wuhan, but how would he know that since the P3CO committee has never reviewed research in the Wuhan lab?

  4. woman asks child protective services with help with one of her 9 children–the cps worker encourages the girl to become a prostitute.
    FTA

Keisha Bazley has nine kids. She turned to Child Protective Services to help her with her 14-year-old daughter, who she says was running away and causing trouble at school,

“My daughter told me that the worker had been telling her she should do these things, so she said she decided to video her,” Bazley said.

CPS is housing the girl at a hotel. She’s one of dozens of foster kids living at hotels in Harris County.

In the video, the girl tells the CPS employee she wants food. The CPS worker tells her to be a prostitute.

“And giving her an incentive to do so, and almost a threat of not having her needs being met, if she didn’t do what this woman very explicitly told her to do,” Schneider said.

“If me, the parent, was to do something like this to my child, I would be bashed,” said Bazley. “I would be called a horrible parent. I would lose my kids.”

Jamie Masters, the Commissioner of CPS, came to Houston to personally apologize to Bazley and her daughter.

“I’ve never seen that happen before where the commissioner of CPS comes in from Austin, just to apologize about something horrible that’s been done to a child involved with CPS,” Schneider said. “It’s bad enough if it’s just one bad rogue worker. It concerns me that it may be bigger than that, and they need to make sure it’s not just one person, and they’ve got to find a way to protect these kids.”

  5. wow! what morons!!! cutting down millions of trees for wind turbines?
    entire story
Late last year, Scotland was the site of the United Nations 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) climate summit.

The globalists at the COP26 summit in Glasgow agreed to end deforestation by 2030.

So the slaughter of 14 million trees would seem an especially ironic move.

But that, indeed, is what Scotland did.

As reported in the Scottish publication The Herald, authorities in Scotland approved the removal of 14 million trees to clear forest land for 21 wind turbines.

Leftists apparently are so intent on ending the use of fossil fuels that they are willing to rape Mother Earth to get there.

“The Scottish Government has moved to reassure that more trees have been planted, but it is unknown what proportion of these are mature plants that play a bigger role in turning carbon into oxygen,” the report said. “A Scottish conservation charity, which has planted almost two million trees across the Highlands, believes that both wind farms and trees are key to reducing carbon levels.”

The Herald cited a spokesman for Forestry and Land Scotland as saying: “Renewable energy and forests are key to Scotland’s contribution to mitigating climate change and FLS is successfully managing both elements. The figure for trees felled for windfarm development on Scotland’s forests and land, as managed by FLS, over the past 20 years is 13.9 million. However, it should be noted that these trees – being a commercial crop – will have eventually have been felled and passed into the timber supply chain in any case.”

But once wind turbine installations are placed on the site where the trees once thrived, the trees can no longer be regrown as part of a sustainable timber supply chain.

  6. if they can’t do simple math, how can they solve BIG problems?
    FTA
If the climate alarmists truly believe there is a climate emergency, then they should be able to answer the first basic question about “the plan.” Are the numbers in the plan even remotely achievable? Remember: based on their screeching, we have only twelve years before we all die from “man-made climate change.”

To answer that question, let’s break part of the plan into the most basic math problem: can we replace 25%, 50%, or 75% of the cars on the road in ten years? To understand the theoretical possibility, we will simplify this to how many years will it take to replace all vehicles on the road in the U.S.

I will start with how many vehicles are on the road today in the U.S. According to this link, in 2020, there were 286 million. I will round that to 300 million to simplify the math.

How many total vehicles are sold every year in the U.S.? This link answers that an average of a little fewer than 15 million vehicles are sold in the U.S. every year (assuming sold vehicles and production capacity are related).

How many electric vehicles are produced in the US? From this link, we produce fewer than 1 million. I will round up to one million for my calculation.

The simple math problem is, how many years will it take to replace all the cars in the U.S. with electric vehicles (total in the U.S. rounded up / average production volume per year)?

It is 300M / 15M/year = 20 years. This assumes two important things: first, there are no new additions into the economy of drivers and vehicles. Second, that we can convert all production to electric vehicles overnight.

If you believe that we are all going to die in 12 years, we are eight years too late in converting to all electric vehicles even if the underlying assumptions were possible.

This simple math problem shows that the people that are screaming the loudest do not have a serious solution to the existential problem of “man-made climate change.” The automobile situation in the U.S. alone cannot be resolved in twenty years, let alone in ten years.

Here is where the math gets a little more fun:

If we are currently producing 1 million electric vehicles a year, and we are struggling to attain the materials to hit that number, what is the maximum number of electric vehicles we can produce without a “magic wand”?

I will be generous and say we can at best expect to triple production to 3M a year. If we need 300M to be produced (300M / 3M/year = 100 years), that means that it will take 100 years just to replace all the vehicles on the road. Companies are already struggling to get the minerals needed for batteries. When we try to go from 1M to 2M, it will get worse and more expensive. I can’t even image the costs and environmental impact of trying to go from 2M to 3M. My prediction is that in ten years, the best we can hope to achieve in the U.S. is replacing 10% to 15% of the vehicles on the road with electric vehicles.

Unserious people, who can’t do this basic math, definitely cannot comprehend the complex science involved in studying the climate. The numbers don’t lie. Their solution will not solve the “man-made climate problem” without a magic wand to replace every vehicle in the U.S. in one or even two generations.

  7. I’d forgotten about this!
    FTA
But it’s not the same thing and she knows it. Rather, Clinton has displayed a pattern of flaunting security protocols (as I noted in AT back in 2016). When visiting Moscow for her famed Russian reset, a staffer (it’s always a staffer) left a classified document in a Moscow hotel room.

Russian TV reports that the FBI discovered another security violation when US Diplomatic Security (DS) found a classified document from then Sec State Clinton’s briefing book left behind in a Russian hotel room. Monica Hanley, one of Hillary’s former aides, was given a diplomatic pouch with the Sec State’s briefing book and took the pouch to the suite of the Russian hotel she was sharing with Clinton. Following their departure, the DS conducted a routine security sweep and found the classified document.

Fortunately for the staffer, she only received a “verbal security counseling.” As many people know, anyone else in the military or the government mishandling classified material in such a manner would have faced severe consequences for their actions.

This also brings up two key questions: 1) Why was a sitting Secretary of State staying in a Russian hotel instead of the US embassy? And, if absolutely necessary to stay in a hotel off-compound, any classified material should have been brought to the embassy for safekeeping overnight. How about an accounting of what was in the document? Nuclear weapons secrets maybe?

  8. some good suggestions for securing the vote
    FTA

One voting day: No votes counted after midnight.
    Back to paper ballots.
No stopping or slowing of the vote count. To that end, there will be monitors at every polling station and enough counters to make it happen.
No mail-in ballots except for those who apply in advance, in writing, to get one.
    Voter ID.
By law, no “calling” of any election by the media until after midnight.
Polling places must be secured by law enforcement against violence or disruption.
Military personnel must mail their ballots three weeks before voting day to ensure that they are counted on time.

  12. EXCERPT: “The UN has a website titled SDG for Social, Diversity, and Governance, which ranks all activities based on how “woke” socialists and not capitalists they are. This did not begin yesterday or even 50 years ago. It started with the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. It came into focus in 1944 at the convention of the Communist Party at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where the party president said that we would take America not under terms like Socialism or Communism but under prettier terms like Liberalism and Progressivism, but take America we will.

The firm goals were established in 2015, built on decades of work, especially the Vancouver Declaration, which established human settlements known as Habitat I. The agreement stated that “land cannot be treated as an ordinary asset controlled by individuals” and that private land ownership is a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth, thus contributing to social injustice.

The UN declaration said that public control of land use is therefore indispensable, a prelude to the World Economic Forum’s infamous prediction that by 2030, you’ll own nothing. Numerous UN agencies and officials have outlined their sustainability vision, calling for drastic restrictions on energy, meat consumption, travel, living space, and material prosperity.

Experts interviewed by The Epoch Times say that some of the world’s wealthiest and most influential corporate leaders are working with communists in China and elsewhere to centralize control over food production and crush independent farmers and ranchers.

The most vital trait of the evil folks desiring to take down the world as we know it is patience. They have never been in a hurry, and now that they have the upper hand, they are moving at warp speed.

The World Economic Forum, a network of major multinational businesses that collaborates closely with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), is a strategic partner in the United Nations on Agenda 2030 when they will own everything, and you will own nothing. Could they say it any clearer?

Yes, at the moment, chicken little was right; the sky is falling, and as our readers continue through this series of awakening articles, it is time to rise and begin fighting back. It may be a small thing, but overturning the House of Representatives in the United States on November 8 will be a start.
    ——————-
According to critics, the goal of the policies is not to preserve the environment or fight climate change. Instead, the experts warn that the sustainability narrative, and other justifications, are tools to gain control over food production and people.

The end goal of these efforts is to reduce the sovereignty of both individual nations and people, said Craig Rucker, President of the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), a public policy organization specializing in environmental and development issues.

The intent of those pushing this agenda is not to save the planet as they purport but to increase control over people. He told The Epoch Times, adding that the goal is to centralize power at the national and international levels.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals, often referred to as Agenda 2030, were adopted in 2015 as a guide to transforming our world. Hailed as a master plan for humanity and a global declaration of interdependence by top UN officials, the 17 goals included 169 targets involving every facet of the economy and life.

All countries and stakeholders acting in collaborative partnership will implement this plan, declaring the document’s preamble, repeatedly noting that no one will be left behind. While those words are usually meant to be positive, in this case, they infer that no one will escape the total control of the one world government.

It is time to wake up and understand that these people are genuinely evil, not morons pursuing poor policy. It is all intentional.”

  13. Latest update from Brandon Straka:

    Dear Patriots-

Many people have said to me over the last year, “God bless you for even making the decision to come back. After going through what you’ve gone through, most people would have just quit.” Honestly, I never even considered it. #WalkAway is one of the greatest movements in America, and I will NEVER allow the left to bully us out. I’ve lost a lot the last year and a half- no doubt about it. Money, career opportunities, friendships, family, my reputation and good name, my sense of security, my freedom, access to my audience, media opportunities, invitations to events, etc.

If you had told me 2 years ago that all this would happen I would have been certain that would mean the end of me, the end of #WalkAway, and the end of my career in the world of media and politics. It’s not that I’m GLAD I’ve gone through this… I’m NOT. But I do owe it to myself to take a step back and recognize any positive things I learned from all of this hell. Here are a few things…

    1. I know now that I can make it on my own.

As I said during my speech at CPAC, the worst thing about going through what I went through was constantly wondering “where is my team?”. Where was Fox News? Where was the Republican Party? Where were the conservative influencers?

It’s frightening for all of us that these entities could abandon a crucial activist while he’s being picked apart, lied about, and eaten alive; and it’s a devastating message that’s been sent to all of you out there who aren’t well known and don’t have a loud voice or a large presence. But here’s the thing- I survived. I’m still here. And we’re about to rock the world with the relaunch of #WalkAway- and we know that we can do it without anybody else’s help. We are going to create our own community that STANDS TOGETHER and STANDS UP FOR ONE ANOTHER when everybody else is silent. It’s a very powerful moment when you realize you can not only make it- but you can THRIVE without help from any of those people. That’s an incredible position to be in, because we don’t have to play politics to survive. I came back to tell the truth- and that’s ALWAYS what I’m going to do!

    WE GOT THIS!!!

    2. I now truly understand how powerless and irrelevant the media is. Numerous times during these coordinated media assaults on me since my arrest I worried that the lies, fabrications, and fake news narratives about me might damage my relationship with the public that I care about. Instead, each assault made me stronger- and your support for me deepen. I’ll never worry about anything the media says again. They’re pathetic, meaningless, and they’ve lost all credibility. Plus- I’m going to have a lot of fun suing the pants off of many of these scumbags!

    3. I understand my value better.

Donald Trump once said, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters”. I get what he meant completely. What he was saying was that people are solidly behind him because he’s standing up to the enemy. He’s fighting back against evil, anti-American globalist, Marxist, communist slime and the American people are going to stick with him no matter what because he’s fighting on the side of good. I feel much the same way now. My confidence in the loyalty and solidarity that exists between me and all of you has never been more firm. I know you’re not going anywhere- and neither am I!

    4. I no longer question myself in any situation. The experience I’ve gone through, and the fact that I’ve survived it intact, without help from those in my political party has proven to me that I am stronger than anybody I know, and that I don‘t owe “reverence” to anyone. I am where I am because I’ve earned the right to be here through my hard work, my innovative ideas, my tireless perseverance, and because the American people WANT me to be here. I’ll never again in my life wonder if I should be anywhere I am. I have fought harder than anyone for America, for Donald Trump, for the Republican Party, for common sense and truth- I’ve earned my stripes and I’m here to stay.

We are moving #WalkAway Social from testing servers to production servers this week! What does this mean? It means we’re going to be launching VERY soon. I’ll keep you up to date with every detail the moment we’re ready to officially announce a release date!

September Speaking Engagements: Sepytember is going to be a CRAZY month. I’ll be speaking in Bedminster, NJ; in Maryland; in Wisconsin; and in Maine. **I’ll be sure to update you all with dates and links to get tickets! THANKS, PATRIOTS!

Hold on to your hats- because we’re now at the turning point. The next 30 days are going to usher in some REALLY GREAT TIMES for us! Let’s GOOOOO!!!!

    All my love,

  14. EXCERPT: “We’ve seen people on the left have a lot of extreme takes to demonize those who think differently or who may not act in line with the liberal narrative. It’s even involved the FBI — with them demonizing patriotic American symbols like the Gadsden flag or the Betsy Ross flag as “extremist.”

One of the venues that engage in such takes is The Atlantic. But they went over the edge with their latest effort — claiming that the rosary has become an “extremist symbol.” The article depicts the rosary using bullet holes and erroneously refers to it as a “sacrament.”

First, let’s start with the fact that if you don’t even know what the sacraments are, don’t pretend like you’re conveying anything that is at all accurate. There are seven sacraments in the Catholic Church — the rosary is not one of them.

But then let’s go to the heart of the attack of the rosary. The Atlantic is the same outlet that plays down the attacks on pro-life centers (many of them Catholic) calling firebombing “vandalism” and attacking the right into the bargain.

Notice how the radical pro-abortion extremists aren’t termed as “extremist” in that headline, the Right is just creating a “bogeyman.” But somehow the rosary is “extremist” to The Atlantic.

Can we talk about what looks like raging anti-Catholic bigotry here? Suggesting that the rosary is a symbol of hate is hateful and ridiculous. Demonizing such an important part of the Catholic faith because some random people might post pictures of it with guns is like demonizing breathing because some people you don’t like do it.”

We’re talking about the Bureau of Land Management, an agency that wields far more power than it probably should without attracting nearly as many headlines. Under the direction of the White House, BLM has the ability to block off huge tracts of federal land and impose daunting fines on people for various sins of “land mismanagement.” But they also have the power to shut down the leasing of public land for energy exploration. That’s what they’re doing in Colorado now, putting the brakes on scheduled federal leases to the oil and gas industry. Part of the reason they are citing involves a small, plump bird. (Yahoo News)

‘The Bureau of Land Management will pause oil and gas leasing on 2.2 million acres of Colorado public land after environmental groups alleged its current management plan failed to consider climate impacts, according to a settlement.

The agreement was filed Thursday in Colorado federal court and requires the government to conduct a new environmental analysis of the climate impacts of oil and gas leasing on public lands in southwestern Colorado. The government also agreed to consider how the leases may impact the endangered Gunnison sage-grouse and its habitat.

The Sierra Club, Center for Biological Diversity and others said in an August 2020 lawsuit that BLM had violated the National Environmental Policy Act, which requires the government to take a hard look at the environmental impacts of its leasing decisions, when it approved the current 20-year plan.’

If I was framing this story for Twitter it would probably go something like this:

Government: We need to produce more energy and reduce prices for you.
Also Government: We’re stopping oil and gas leases in Colorado to save the Gunnison sage-grouse.

BLM is responding to demands from some of the usual suspects whenever fossil fuel exploration questions arise. These include The Sierra Club, Citizens for a Healthy Community, and the Western Environmental Law Center. Their primary claim, assuming you couldn’t have guessed for yourself immediately, is based on climate change. They claim that the current BLM plan for the regions in question in Colorado fails to take into account the impact of the drilling leases on carbon emissions. Of course, the existing plan that was already approved was put in place under the Trump administration, so it has to go, at least in the minds of the environmentalists.

And then there’s the Gunnison sage-grouse. This otherwise unremarkable little bird has become something of a rockstar in the green energy world. The habitat for the bird has been cited in successful lawsuits to halt energy exploration and pipeline projects in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. Invoking any potential threat to the ranges where the birds live can apparently sway the minds of courts in nearly every state where they live.

The thing about the Gunnison sage-grouse is that it’s a subspecies of a family of birds that are fairly ubiquitous around the country and generally aren’t all that endangered. We have various prairie chickens, spruce grouse, ruffed grouse, and at least three types of Ptarmigan, all of which basically fill the same ecological niche. Unless you live in a major urban area or out in the middle of a desert, you could probably go find one with little more than a short drive and a brief hike.

As we’ve discussed here repeatedly, we are facing an energy crisis in the United States and around the world unlike any seen in the modern era. And government “green energy” policies such as the ones that just passed in the supposed “inflation reduction act” are pushing the oil and gas industry to the brink in terms of viability. We need to bring our oil and gas production levels back up to where they were only three years ago, but the government continues to use any excuse to thwart them. I don’t know about you, but if I have to choose between the Gunnison sage-grouse and keeping the lights on, I’ll find some other birds to photograph in my spare time.”

  16. Entire Article @ LegalInsurrection: “Great Barrington Declaration Scientists Join Missouri, Louisiana in Lawsuit Against Biden Administration For Censoring Covid Facts

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Dr. Martin Kulldorff, and other scientists have joined the lawsuit alleging the (CDC) and (DHS) worked with Big Tech to censor Americans discussing covid. Last month, Legal Insurrection reported that the states of Missouri and Louisiana filed a complaint alleging that such collusion violated, among other things, its citizens first amendment rights.

Legal Insurrection readers may also recall my reports about the Great Barrington Declaration. The formal statement promoting “focused protection” rather than blanket lockdowns and restrictions was signed by over 40,000 scientists (including myself), and was authored by Dr. Martin Kulldorff (professor of medicine at Harvard University), Dr. Sunetra Gupta (professor at Oxford University, an epidemiologist with expertise in immunology, vaccine development, and mathematical modeling of infectious diseases), and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya (professor at Stanford University Medical School).

Now Bhattacharya, Kulldorff, and other scientists have joined the lawsuit filed by the states of Missouri and Louisiana, alleging that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) worked with Big Tech companies to censor Americans discussing covid. The scientists are represented by the New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA).

Social media platforms, acting at the federal government’s behest, repeatedly censored NCLA’s clients for articulating views on those platforms in opposition to government-approved views on Covid-19 restrictions.

This insidious censorship was the direct result of the federal government’s ongoing campaign to silence those who voice perspectives that deviate from those of the Biden Administration. Government officials’ public threats to punish social media companies that did not do their bidding demonstrate this linkage, as do emails from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to social media companies that only recently were made public.

Government-induced censorship is achieved through a wide variety of mechanisms, ranging from complete bans, temporary bans, “shadow bans” (where often neither the user nor his audience is notified of the suppression of speech), deboosting, de-platforming, de-monetizing, restricting access to content, requiring users to take down content, and imposing warning labels that require click-through to access content, among others. These methods also include temporary and permanent suspensions of disfavored speakers.

This sort of censorship, which strikes at the heart of what the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was designed to protect—free speech, especially political speech—constitutes unlawful government action. Time has proven the authors of the Great Barrington Declaration completely correct. The lockdowns had negligible effect on outcomes and came with enormous social cost. Focused protection was the way to go, as evidenced by Sweden’s experience.

In fact, countries are rapidly ditching all remaining covid restrictions in the wake of another cycle of infections. For example, South Korea is simply ignoring the latest surge in infections. So far in August, an average of 101,290 cases and 31 deaths were reported per day, climbing from the 80,648 cases and 24 deaths seen between July 25-31. Over two days on Friday and Saturday, 92 patients with Covid-19 died — the highest since mid-May in the aftermath of a deadly Omicron wave that peaked in March.

In recent briefings, the government’s Covid-19 response headquarters has vowed that social distancing won’t be returning, while expanding the eligibility of fourth vaccine doses to people in their 50s.

As the cumulative count of cases here crossed 20 million, which is 38 per cent of the entire South Korean population, Vice Minister of Health and Welfare Lee Ki-il said in an August 3 address that Covid-19-related restrictions such as social distancing would not be reinstated.

This nation is still reeling from the impact of covid lockdowns. Hopefully, the lawsuit will reveal exactly how the silencing of real science occurred so it doesn’t happen again…further destroying this nation.”

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — High-level Chinese asset and sex trafficker Hunter Biden breathed a sigh of relief this evening as an FBI raid team passed by his West Palm Beach vacation home to raid Donald Trump’s residence in Mar-a-Lago.

“Whew! Thought they had me for a minute there,” Biden sighed, according to sources before going back to smoking crack with a hooker on a pile of cash freshly delivered by Chinese agents. “Glad to know the FBI is still working for my Dad!”

The FBI arrived at Mar-a-Lago shortly after, but things got awkward after the FBI raid team ran into the FBI evidence planting team due to a scheduling mistake.
    ——————-
MAR-A-LAGO, FL — The morning after Trump’s Florida home was raided by FBI agents, the former president took the time to thank the FBI for officially kicking off his reelection campaign.

“I would like to thank the F…B…I… remember them, the FBI? How about those beauties, huh?” said Trump to a roaring crowd of thousands outside his resort. “They came into my home to make your favorite president look like a criminal. Such losers, such losers. But everyone still loves me so it’s ok. They didn’t even find anything! I’m gonna be the President again!”

Sources close to Trump say his first act as President will be to fire his own appointed FBI Director Christopher Wray and replace him with a used dust mop from the Capitol janitor’s closet before razing the Hoover building and banishing all FBI agents to Gitmo.

“I’m gonna fire everyone, literally everyone in government,” said Trump. Federal Reserve? Gone! EPA? Gone! CIA? Gone! Department of Education? ATF? HHS? Gone, gone, gone!”

The news media responded to Trump’s statement by calling him a “threat to democracy worse than Hitler” while tearing their clothes and heaping dust upon the crowns of their heads.

At publishing time, Trump’s approval had gone up over 30%, only to plunge again after he made another nasty comment about Mika Brzezinski’s facelift.

U.S. – In a move to help oppressed husbands who are forced to walk around the craft store in a daze for hours as they lose all sense of time and space, Hobby Lobby has unveiled its new husband daycares at all of its U.S. stores.

At the beginning of a woman’s shopping trip to Hobby Lobby, she can check her husband into the daycare for up to three hours, as long as he’s trained to put the toilet seat back down. She also has to sign a waiver that she’s responsible for any spills or messes he makes, though most of the women are already used to that anyway.

The patented Hobby Lobby Husband Daycare is fully stocked with beer, pizza, video games, televisions, and even an old car to work on with a provided set of tools (though most men seem to stand there nodding and saying “yep” even though they don’t know what’s wrong with the car). The two to three hours their wives spend browsing wooden and metal decor will fly by as they knock out a game of Madden or watch a baseball game.

Upon the opening of the daycares, Hobby Lobby’s sales increased fourfold, as husbands began begging their wives to spend as much time as they wanted in the craft store.

At publishing time, Hobby Lobby had announced that you can leave your husband in the daycare Saturday night, let him hang out there all day Sunday, and come back to pick him up Monday morning, further increasing demand for the feature.

  19. Perry got his phone back without any indication why it was seized…but ex fib says that it needed to be authorized at the highest level…
    FTA
In an interview with NTD, Greg Shaffer, a retired FBI agent for the elite hostage rescue team, said that the FBI needs to have special permission to seize any property belonging to members of Congress, members of the clergy, attorneys, or other individuals who deal with privileged information. Seizing Perry’s phone was a “show of force” by the Biden administration.

“For an FBI agent to go walk up to a sitting congressman and take his cell phone … that had to be approved at the highest level at the FBI and DOJ,” Shaffer said. “That is very, very difficult to do. Unprecedented.”

It is unclear whether there is a link between Perry’s phone seizure and the raid on Trump’s home. Speaking to The Epoch Times, Perry pointed out that the separation of powers is a firewall that keeps the three branches of government in check.

By taking control of a phone belonging to a sitting member of Congress, the DOJ, “for maybe the first time in history, is preparing to pierce that veil.”

  20. Entire Article @ FB: “Wayne Covington was sentenced to life in prison after he shot and killed an 18-year-old for money to buy heroin. Pennsylvania Democratic Senate nominee John Fetterman wants him to walk free.

In June 2021, Fetterman was the only member of the state’s Board of Pardons—which he chairs as lieutenant governor—to vote to commute Covington’s sentence, according to records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. In 1970, Covington admitted to shooting 18-year-old George Rudnycky to death while high, as Covington and an accomplice were robbing Rudnycky for drug money. Covington pleaded guilty to first-degree murder to avoid the death penalty and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Fetterman cast his vote over the pleas of Rudnycky’s family members, who opposed Covington’s release at the killer’s commutation hearing.

One year after the controversial vote, Fetterman is placing his Board of Pardons record at the center of his campaign against Republican Mehmet Oz. His campaign site boasts that he “transformed” the lieutenant governor position “into a bully pulpit for criminal justice reform” and “led the fight to free the wrongfully convicted and give second chances to deserving longtime inmates.” Fetterman, who has said he ran for lieutenant governor solely to lead the Board of Pardons, has specifically called to end life sentences for second-degree murderers who participated in a killing but did not “pull the trigger.”

But in Covington’s case, Fetterman took no issue with voting to release a triggerman who admitted to shooting his young victim—a vote that Pennsylvania attorney general and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Josh Shapiro did not reciprocate. A review of Fetterman’s tenure on the board, meanwhile, shows that the Democrat has voted to release an array of violent criminals jailed for their roles in brutal murders, a far cry from the “innocent” people Fetterman often says he works to release. Those votes—as well as Fetterman’s unabashed support for George Soros-funded Philadelphia district attorney Larry Krasner—prompted a letter from 13 Pennsylvania sheriffs who said Fetterman’s crime policy positions “would add to already rising crime rates in Pennsylvania.” Their criticism of Fetterman could plague the Democrat’s campaign as Pennsylvanians deal with a record murder spike.

Fetterman’s campaign did not return a request for comment. The Board of Pardons denied the Free Beacon’s public records request for a video or transcript of the June 2021 hearing, saying that records of the public event are “confidential.” Fetterman’s office, which issued the denial, did not respond to a request for comment.

Beyond his support for Covington’s commutation, Fetterman has supported the release of violent criminals Denise Crump and Anthony Eberhardt, pardon board votes reviewed by the Free Beacon show. Crump received life in prison in the late 1980s after she and an accomplice killed a 46-year-old man to “steal his television set, which was then sold for $60 to buy cocaine,” according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Eberhardt also participated in a robbery-murder, which led to the shooting death of a beer distributor.

Pennsylvania’s Board of Pardons has faced high-profile recidivism issues in the past. In 1992, board members voted to commute the sentence of serial killer Reginald McFadden, who immediately went on a murdering spree, killing two and kidnapping and raping a third within three months of his release. After that ordeal, Pennsylvanians voted to raise the board’s approval standard from a majority vote to a unanimous one, a move that caused life-sentence commutations to plummet.

Fetterman has called McFadden’s actions “unthinkable.” But the infamous murderer’s post-release killing spree has not stopped the Democrat from backing an amendment to lower the board’s vote threshold to 4-1. Since 2019, Fetterman has cast the sole vote to pardon or commute a sentence at least 27 times, pardon board records reviewed by the Free Beacon show.

In January, Fetterman appointed his campaign political director, Celeste Trusty, as secretary of the Board of Pardons. Trusty supports many of the same criminal justice reform policies as Fetterman, and has called to “disarm the police.” She worked on Fetterman’s campaign through this January, according to Federal Election Commission records.

  21. Entire Article @ DC: “Ford raised the base price of its F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck Aug. 9 following the passing of a bill by Senate Democrats that included a $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax credit.

The base model of the 2023 F-150 Lightning pickup will now cost $47,000, up from it’s original price of $40,000, according to CNN. More expensive models, such as the XLT High/Extended Range and the Lariat Extended Range have increased in price by $8,500, while other F-150 Lightning designs vary between $6,000 to $7,000 in price increases, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The price change was attributed to “significant material cost increases and other factors,” CNN noted. Despite the changes, the increase will not impact those currently waiting for delivery of their vehicles, but impacts those who have reserved but not yet ordered the truck, CNBC reported.

With eligibility and tax credit rules preparing to change under new legislation, including the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, certain modules of the vehicle may qualify for the credit this year, according to Consumer Reports. It is unclear if the truck will be eligible in the future, according to CNN.

The electric trucks only have a range of 230 to 320 miles depending on the model, a moderate increase of 10 miles to the company’s standard battery, CNBC continued. Ford is far from the only company raising the price for their electric vehicle range; with General Motors recently announcing an increase in the price of its electric model of the GMC Hummer by $6,250, CNN reported.”

I guess it is legal but not ethical at all. After we heard our talk show guy out of Casper talking about it he opened it and in the upper right hand corner in small print it says paid for by Liz Cheney campaign.

The Bitch is trying to steal the election. Navarro said I think she has probably had allot of Dems registering as Repubs as we have a bunch of new repubs. I hope Styx is right and she losses but I am absolutely a bit afraid. I do personally know people who are going to vote for her. I will never trust a word they say now.
