        1. That might be the case if it started recently, after the borders were open and they began flooding in. But this started before that – as far back as 2017. I’m sure now it is part of their calculations but I don’t think that is the overall issue. JMO

    Jessica Ramos is 37 years old and has been part of the New York State legislature since her electoral victory in 2018, she represents portions of Queens, and is on the radical left on most issues, from abortion to government spending. The parallels between AOC and Ramos are uncanny. Yet there is clearly trouble in paradise.

    This entire episode demands that we rethink the messaging from the Ocasio-Cortez campaign in the lead up to the 2018 midterm elections:

    – In 2018, was AOC playing up the angle of ‘humble beginnings’ to accurately reflect her identity, or was that just an opportunistic ploy to defeat Crowley?

    – Does AOC truly care about her constituents, or is she more concerned with power, the financial benefits that come along with it, and her own personal branding?

    – And if AOC can’t make enough time to interact with a fellow Democrat politician, what must her availability belike to the voters in her district?

    This development is not surprising, of course. All one needs to do is spend a few moments observing AOC – in happening such as last week’s fake handcuff incident, for example – to understand that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez cares about herself. She’s as narcissistic and attention-seeking as any politician in America, and that is indeed a bold statement. What we must consider now is this: With these attacks by Jessica Ramos, are Democrats finally starting to see what the rest of us have known for years?

    That’s just the skeleton stuff, for many illegal border crossers, the fat is even better, with free housing, free stipends as ‘refugees,’ free health care, free education, free defense attorneys, fee-free asylum applications, free food, free transit without the burden of I.D.s, and a raft of other goodies.

    Now consider that having been offered that, plus no practical worries about deportation — and think about the disturbing fact that 500,000 illegal border crossers have chosen to turn that down, in favor of simply getting into the country for whatever purpose. Who does that?

    Obviously, it’s people who might be deported because of criminal histories, or people who are actively engaged in commiting criminal acts, such as the transport of illegal and lethal drugs from China such as fentanyl. President Trump in his rally to supporters in Arizona over the weekend noted that many countries were now emptying their jails and directing their criminals to head to the states. There are gang members, murderers, rapists, child molestors, thieves, and every variety of human plague coming to where their best opportunities are in the states. I spoke with radio host Jeff Biggs yesterday at Houston’s top drive-time radio station, KTRH, and I recall that he noted that 1,300 criminals were identified in recent sweeps in the battered Rio Grande Valley alone, a figure I found shocking. 1,300 is a very large room full of criminals.

It was about how children were raised in NE and showed a pic of a little boy at a county fair who had just bought 2 bags of popcorn and was returning to the bleachers when the national anthem came over the loudspeakers. He dropped both bags of popcorn and promptly stood at attention and saluted! THAT is the way to raise good citizens!!!!

  18. Cool morning – 67 – and getting more rain – yeah! I have made a decision about Nutz – I have no business spending $150 on a stray cat, cute and lovable tho he may be. There are dozens of stray cats in our town and I only have one home. I have to put that money towards trying to get my cottonwood tree trimmed. I did find out we have a local tree trimming company so I wouldn’t have to pay for someone to come from Norfolk. There are 3 dead limbs that concern me – big limbs – that could, depending on the wind direction, take out either my entire west fence line and gates, my entire garden bed area (including the honeysuckle) or, with a strong enough wind, the entire tree could come down and destroy my house. Common sense has returned. I have to be practical especially since I don’t have homeowner’s insurance.

    Truly interesting facts, Pat. Having said that…..who on earth wastes their time coming up with a word for the fear of running out of something to read? Seriously? Psychobabble nonsense! Give it a name and then you can medicate it!!!

    I was really surprised about the blue and green honey. I never dreamed that was possible! And I can’t say I am convinced that tigers can’t purr. I am positive that in one of the many nature shows I’ve watched, about big cat sanctuaries and such, that I have heard them purring. ‘Course, I could always be wrong – could have been lions, leopards, cheetahs, etc., etc.

    Again with the silly words! Snirtle? Seriously? And who would waste their fricking time testing termites with rock music? These people have WAY too much time on their hands!!! So, how did they weigh a cumulus cloud?

It’s a bit easier decision to make now – I watched him trek down to the neighbors, who did exactly the same as I was going to with the other, bigger gray and white Tom cat that wanders around here – he is not the least bit friendly – I tried to get him to come to me and he just looked at me suspiciously and hustled away. But, then, he is clearly much older – I’ve been seeing him around for many years. They took him to the vet and got him set up, and feed him. So I’m thinking Nutz is scarfing that up, too.

    The city’s finance office confirmed that none of the fines had been paid as of July 22.

    One of the mayor’s current SUVs also has a red light ticket. It’s also unpaid.

    There are also outstanding speed and red light tickets on two SUVs that used to be assigned to Lightfoot’s security team, according to city records.

The change in attorneys coincided with a complete turnabout in her story, and a dramatically different posture toward Cheney.

    Alyssa Farah, the former Trump staffer who has been named The View co-host because of her willingness to denounce conservatives and renounce the policy positions she once claimed to hold, publicly said she was responsible for convincing Hutchinson to work with Cheney. “That’s how this shocking testimony came about,” she said.
