Summertime is the best time for NO BAKE (!) recipes and today I’ve got 3 delicious and super easy ideas using a store bought Oreo cookie crust. Easy Peasy!!
Ice Cream Oreo® Cookie Pie

Ingredients:
16-ounce package chocolate sandwich cookies
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
1 8-ounce container of Cool Whip, thawed
I Oreo Cookie Crust
Reserve 8 cookies–place the remaining cookies in a plastic Ziploc bag and using a rolling pin, crush the cookies. Stir the crushed cookies into the softened ice cream and mix well. Spoon the ice cream mixture into the Oreo crust. Place into the freezer until firm, about an hour. Remove from the freezer and spoon the Cool Whip over the ice cream layer and top with the Oreos. Enjoy!
Peanut Butter Pie

Ingredients:
Oreo cookie crust
1 8-ounce cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 cup creamy peanut butter
¾ cup powdered sugar
1 8-ounce Cool Whip, thawed
Reese’s peanut butter cups (chopped—for topping)
With an electric mixer, beat the peanut butter and the cream cheese until smooth. Add in the powdered sugar and mix. Add the Cool Whip. Spoon into the Oreo cookie crust and top with the chopped peanut butter cups. Chill in the freezer for at least 3 hours (or 5 hours in the refrigerator). Enjoy!
Oreo Candy Crunch Pie

Ingredients:
3.9-ounce instant chocolate pudding mix
2 cups milk
1 8-ounce Cool Whip, thawed
1 cup Heath toffee bits
2 Tbsp Hershey’s syrup
6 Oreos, crushed
1 Oreo cookie crust
Make pudding as directed. Add half the Cool Whip and ¾ cup of the Heath bits. Stir in the crushed Oreos. Pour into crust. Drizzle the Hershey’s syrup over pudding mixture. Top with the remaining Cool Whip and toffee bits. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours before serving. Enjoy!
Morning All!

Thank you Pat! We have been very busy, but have made progress. Got the kitchen porch re-decked, got our septic tank pumped and I made a minor repair to the drain field line, (broken tee found during routine pump-out). We have been packing more as well. Still a lot to go…Thank you for the anniversary greetings! #6 under our belts.

Abbot issues eo to stem flow of illegals into Texan communities
FTA
Governor Greg Abbott today issued an executive order authorizing and empowering the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety to apprehend illegal immigrants who illegally cross the border between ports of entry and return them to the border. The Biden Administration’s decision to end Title 42 expulsions and the Remain-in-Mexico policy has led to historic levels of illegal crossings, with 5,000 migrants being apprehended over the July 4th weekend, creating a border crisis that has overrun communities along the border and across Texas.
“While President Biden refuses to do his job and enforce the immigration laws enacted by Congress, the State of Texas is once again stepping up and taking unprecedented action to protect Americans and secure our southern border,” said Governor Abbott. “The cartels have become emboldened and enriched by President Biden’s open border policies, smuggling in record numbers of people, weapons, and deadly drugs like fentanyl.”
As noted in the executive order, the Biden Administration “has abandoned the covenant, in Article IV, § 4 of the U.S. Constitution, that ‘[t]he United States . . . shall protect each [State in this Union] against Invasion,’ and thus has forced the State of Texas to build a border wall, deploy state military forces, and enter into agreements as described in Article I, § 10 of the U.S. Constitution to secure the State of Texas and repel the illegal immigration that funds the cartels.”
“I have authorized the Texas National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety to begin returning illegal immigrants to the border to stop this criminal enterprise endangering our communities,” continued Governor Abbott. “As the challenges on the border continue to increase, Texas will continue to take action to address those challenges caused by the Biden Administration.”

True but, at the same time, one cannot let the schools themselves, the government and the guidance counsellors off the hook for pushing this financing on students. That pressure starts in HS – even earlier in the case of highly skilled and talented students. And FFS, do NOT offer financing for a degree that won’t earn them jack shit!!!!!

well, but that’s the problem.
colleges employ the liberal professors who don’t know anything but their own OPINIONS–who can only teach their own opinions…so what courses do they offer?
lesbian basket weaving cultures of the paleo empire of the inner mind…
if the colleges offered more fact based classes instead of feelings bullshit, kids would have to choose a profession not a “study”…they could make a living post college. all these colleges are doing is creating more worthless professors…

the cover up begins…
FTA
This amendment would also work in helping to coverup future wrongdoing by Congress. All they have to do is insert intelligence obtained by the military into any source material they want hidden and it cannot be brought to light in hearings. So this isn’t just about keeping a future Republican-controlled Congress from exposing the Democrats’ past wrongdoings. It’s a way for Democrats to continue down the dark, anti-American path they’re currently heading all the way up to the day Nancy Pelosi hands the gavel to the next Speaker of the House.
What we are witnessing is Congressional Democrats giving themselves cover from repercussions for the various dirty deeds in which they are currently involved. This is abuse of power on an industrial scale.

crap! spilled coffee everywhere…loud thud on the deck…
St Francis has lost his hands again…sigh
Hubby got me a St Francis garden statue holding a dish for bird seed that we put out our first spring here.
the raccoons and the squirrels mauled that thing–a bear knocked it over and broke off the hands/dish. we brought it up on the deck and hubby glued the hands.
we tried putting bird seed in the dish on the deck, but that just attracted the usual suspects to the deck and the hands would be knocked off again.
he stands quietly in the corner and occasionally we find acorns in the dish or bits of the mouse bait we put out around the house.
but just now the hands fell off with a thud…probably a squirrel climbing on it or sitting in the dish again…

EXCERPT: “With inflation running wild, rampant shortages from Boston to Bakersfield, endless money pouring into a useless and avoidable proxy war, and an epic crime wave wrecking America’s cities, one might think the Biden Administration has enough disasters to keep its hands full. But apparently not. On Thursday, the Biden Administration announced it will be reviving one of the most odious policies of the Obama Administration. And then, for good measure, it will make said policy an order of magnitude worse.
——————-
In one of his most underrated moves to Make America Great Again, President Trump quickly repealed Obama’s policy. That should have sent it permanently to the ash bin of history. But alas, no. Not only is the policy back, but activists have concocted a version that is far more wicked than its predecessor.
The new Biden regulations, which total more than 700 pages, once again encourage a single-investigator model that is tailor-made for de facto activists. Once these activists become “investigators”, they can then deliver verdicts motivated more by anti-male ideology and feminist animus than evidence. Biden’s rules also remove any right for accused students to confront or cross-examine their accusers. In fact, accused students don’t even have the right to see all the evidence against them; they are only granted a right to see a “description” of the evidence.
And as an added bonus, the new rules may make it a presumptive Title IX violation to “misgender” a person by failing or refusing to use their “preferred pronouns.”
If and when these rules are implemented, it will be a calamity. Free speech on campus will be gutted, liars and hysterics indulged, sinister bureaucrats empowered, and countless innocents around the country punished for nothing. To prove it, we only have to look at what happened under Obama’s policies. So now, Revolver will revisit six of the most ridiculous Title IX cases produced by the never-ending campus sex hysteria.”

EXCERPT: “The state of Florida saw a surplus of $21.8 billion for the 2022 fiscal year, the highest in state history and more than 21% higher than the state’s spending plan, Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday. Tax collections in May were $742 million above estimates; preliminary data for June is approximately $950 million above estimates.
“Despite the headwinds created by the Biden administration’s policies, Florida is in a strong fiscal position because we preserved freedom and kept our economy open,” DeSantis said. “Our responsible policies have allowed us to make record investments to support our communities, promote education, protect the environment, and provide record tax relief for Floridians, all while building record reserves to protect the state against the reckless fiscal policies from Washington.”
Florida’s surplus includes a record $15.7 billion in unallocated general revenue, $2.8 billion in unallocated trust funds and $2.7 billion in the Budget Stabilization Fund, otherwise known as its Rainy-Day Fund, the highest in state history. The surplus also includes $499 million in the newly created Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund.
Florida also continues to outpace the nation with record employment growth and low unemployment.”

EXCERPT: “The Labor Department believes nearly $1 out every $5 it doles out for unemployment benefits is fraudulent, erroneous or unjustified, a record of failure so egregious it violates a federal payments integrity law and likely cost taxpayers more than $78 billion in losses last year alone, according to a new audit.
The Labor Department inspector general reported this week that the agency’s record of improper unemployment insurance program payments doubled from about 9.17% in the last year of the Trump administration in 2020 to 18.78% in the first year under Joe Biden in 2021.
The performance was so bad it violated three of the six tenets of the U.S. Payment Integrity Information Act, a federal law passed in 2019 to rein in errant federal spending and ensure agencies stay below 10% in bad payments, the inspector general reported. “The U.S. Department of Labor did not meet the requirements for compliance with the Payment Integrity Information Act for FY 2021,” the audit concluded.
“DOL did not meet the established FY 2021 UI improper payment reduction target rate of 9.00 percent that was published in the DOL FY 2020 OMB payment integrity data call,” according to the internal watchdog. “DOL also did not demonstrate improvement to the UI improper payment rate from the actual rate in FY 2020.”
The large failure rate likely cost taxpayers about $77.26 billion in errant payments in 2021 and $864.6 million in “unknown payments” for the government’s main unemployment insurance program. Auditors believe another $79.21 million in errant payments were made in a second benefits program for injured and sick federal workers.
The stunning numbers are even more alarming because the inspector general said the current estimates don’t include errant payments for a new pandemic jobless benefits program created during the coronavirus crisis that doled out about $100 billion last year alone.”

Excerpt: “An Army training slide obtained by Breitbart News instructs soldiers to shower with transgender members of the opposite sex even if they have not undergone a surgical transition. The training slide offers a “vignette” instructing soldiers on what to do if they encounter a female soldier who identifies as male according to the Department of Defense’s personnel tracking system known as Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), but has not surgically transitioned and still has “female genitalia.”
The slide, titled “Soldier/Unit Training Barracks, Bathrooms, and Showers,” reads:
‘Vignette: Following his transition from female to male (which did not include sex reassignment surgery) and gender marker change in DEERS, a transgender Soldier begins using male barracks, bathroom, and shower facilities. Because he did not undergo a surgical change, the Soldier still has female genitalia.’
The slide instructs soldiers: ‘Soldiers must accept living and working conditions that are often austere, primitive, and characterized by little or no privacy. … Understand anyone may encounter individuals in barracks, bathrooms, or shower facilities with physical characteristics of the opposite sex despite having the same gender marker in DEERS.’
It also tells soldiers that they should be “respectful of the privacy and modesty concerns of others,” but that “transgender Soldiers are not required or expected to modify or adjust their behavior based on the fact that they do not ‘match’ other Soldiers.”
The training slides warn soldiers that violations of Equal Opportunity (EO) policies may result in disciplinary actions under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and that EO policies “apply to working, living, and recreational environment (on and off-post, during duty and non-duty hours).”

Really BAD NEWS FOR THE WORLD! Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is dead. He was assassinated. His killer was captured and will hopefully be dealt with swiftly and harshly. Few people know what a great man and leader Shinzo Abe was, but history will teach them and be kind. He was a unifier like no other, but above all, he was a man who loved and cherished his magnificent country, Japan. Shinzo Abe will be greatly missed. There will never be another like him! Hmmm….I supposed this could be seen as suspicious but if he was stepping down at the end of this month anyway. The jab perhaps?
Entire Article @ Based: “OPEC secretary-general Mohammad Barkindo unexpectedly died at the age of 63. The 2016 pact, which united the group with Russia and created OPEC+, was drafted by the native of Nigeria.
Mohammad Barkindo, the secretary-general of OPEC, passed away suddenly on Tuesday night, only hours after visiting Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and speaking at an energy summit in Abuja, Nigeria, according to the Wall Street Journal.
After serving as the senior official of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries for six years, Barkindo, 63, was scheduled to step down at the end of July. He gained notoriety for drafting a 2016 accord that welcomed major producers like Russia into the so-called OPEC+ club, which included them as heavyweight producers.
The native of Nigeria claimed during his speech in Abuja that the oil and gas sector is currently “under siege” and suffering from significant underinvestment.
“In a very short timespan, the industry has been hit by two major cycles — the severe market downturn in 2015 and 2016, and the even more far-reaching impact of the Covid-19 pandemic,” Barkindo said hours before his death.
Barkindo was scheduled to join the Atlantic Council, a US-based think tank, as a distinguished fellow in the Global Energy Center after leaving OPEC. On July 31, his tenure as OPEC secretariat came to an end, and Haitham Al-Ghais of Kuwait will take over.
“This tragedy is a shock to the OPEC Family. We express our sorrow and deep gratitude for the over 40 years of selfless service that Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo gave to OPEC. His dedication and leadership will inspire OPEC for many years to come,” the OPEC Secretariat said in a Tweet.”

“Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene joins The Alex Jones Show to respond to the collapse of the Georgia Guidestones and the drug problems of mass shooters.” – The Alex Jones Show
“These Georgia Guidestones, they really are a monument for the future. And it’s the future that people do not want. People don’t want population control. That’s something that the hard left talk about that is terrifying, actually. Why would anyone want population control? We want people to continue to have families and be able to grow and thrive and feed their families. So it’s interesting, but they have GBI has an investigation going on, and I look forward to hearing what exactly happened.” – Marjorie Taylor Greene
“I think the July 4th tragedy was-is heartbreaking. Imagine Alex that there was an entire month of pride parades and festivals and drag queen’s storytimes. And you didn’t see Christian nationalists going in and shooting up these parades. But you know, the left was already preaching their F the fourth with their hashtags and terrible language against our Independence Day on July 4th.
But here we had a young man come out dressed as a woman, imagine that, that decided to do just an act of evil and a mass shooting. And this guy Bobby Crimo. He’s the worst of the worst. And so what I’ve been demanding, and I started demanding it immediately, is release his records. He doesn’t get a right to privacy anymore. We should know exactly everything about him. We should know his school records, his arrest record, hospitalization records. We should know what drugs he was on, recreational drugs.
We should also know what prescription drugs he was on, like SSRIs. You can see this guy was clearly messed up at five foot 11 and 120 pounds, according to what the police put out when they were looking for him. He is not the picture of health. He’s obviously been on a lot of drugs, and I would bet money that SSRIs are in his history. And those drugs right there and Tucker Carlson talked about it last night too, and of course, the left is losing their mind” – Marjorie Taylor Greene

EXCERPT (Tweets @ link – it says it was originally posted at Western Journal but I couldn’t find it there):
“That means Crimo, who was ordered to be held without bail, will be represented by a public defender. Crimo’s only comment during the hearing was to say he did not have an attorney. During his court appearance, prosecutors said more than 80 rounds were fired Monday in the shooting that left seven people dead and at least 38 wounded, according to CBS.
Lake County Major Crimes Task Force spokesman Chris Covelli stated that Crimo drove to Wisconsin after the Highland Park shooting. Crimo “seriously contemplated using the firearm he had in his vehicle to commit another shooting in Madison” after seeing a celebration in that community. Covelli said Crimo had a second rifle and 60 rounds of ammunition with him. Crimo disposed of his cell phone in Middleton, Wisconsin, and then went back to Illinois.
Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Ben Dillon said during Crimo’s bond hearing that Crimo made a voluntary confession. Prosecutors said Crimo confessed to dressing in women’s clothing and using makeup to cover his tattoos. Dillon said surveillance video showed Crimo using a fire escape ladder to access the rooftop from which the shots were fired. He was also shown leaving the scene. The rifle he discarded was found. Authorities used the serial number to trace the gun back to Crimo.
Dillon said Crimo admitted firing two full 30-round magazines and then continued on to a third one. He said 83 spent shell casings were recovered. Covelli added that Crimo “had some type of affinity toward the number 4 and 7, and inverse with 7/4,” suggesting the date of July 4 may have been significant. “It apparently comes from music that he’s interested in,” Covelli said.
Covelli stated that there is “no information to suggest at this point it was racially motivated, motivated by religion or any other protected status.” Covelli said Crimo “walked to his mother’s home who lived in the area and he blended right in with everybody else as they were running around almost as he was an innocent spectator as well.”

He is playing games again…..such a coward!
EXCERPT: “Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order Thursday seemingly designed to put pressure on the Biden administration to take the border crisis seriously and enforce federal immigration law. But the likely result of the governor’s action won’t be a reduction in illegal immigration, it will be a federal lawsuit against Texas.
Abbott’s order directs the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety to “apprehend illegal immigrants who illegally cross the border between ports of entry and return them to the border.” What does this mean? It does not mean that Texas law enforcement will be expelling illegal immigrants to Mexico, as some Texas counties have called on Abbott to authorize.
In practice, it means that Texas state troopers and National Guardsman, whom Abbott has already deployed to the border as part of Operation Lone Star, will now be authorized to arrest illegal immigrants near the border and transport them directly to the nearest port of entry. What will happen once they get there remains to be seen.
———————
But under Abbott’s order, that will apparently change. Texas troopers and National Guardsmen will be arresting illegal immigrants and transporting them directly to the border, to ports of entry inside Texas that are run by CBP. As of this writing, it is unclear whether CBP will cooperate with state law enforcement officials in this scheme or what the reaction of federal border officials will be at ports of entry when Texas state troopers show up with a busload of illegal immigrants.
One obvious problem with this plan (aside from a lack of federal cooperation) is that there’s really no place to process or house more than a handful of people at these port of entry facilities. Even the larger ports of entry, such as the one in Laredo, Texas, can only house a few dozen people at most, and not for long periods of time.
All of this would suggest that Abbott’s executive order is more of a legal strategy than an operational shift in border enforcement — one that’s designed not to expel illegal immigrants or reduce illegal immigration but to provoke the Biden administration into a legal battle with Texas.
———————
The risk for Abbott is not just that his legal gambit fails, but that his own fellow Texas Republicans perceive his “return to the border” language as a kind of sleight of hand, a shell game designed to make Texans think he’s doing something big and bold, when in fact nothing much on the ground is really changing.
Indeed, so far nothing Abbott has done has changed the fundamental dynamics at the border. Every month sets a new record for arrests of illegal border-crossers, with nearly 240,000 arrests recorded in May, an all-time record. The blame for that of course lies squarely with President Biden, whose administration has released more than a million illegal immigrants into the country since he took office.”
