While these technically are not Chia Pets, you get the general look using simple grass seed! They are a little messy to make, so be sure to put down newspaper over your work space!
Let’s get started! You’ll need the following materials:
- One pair knee-high nylons
- Soil
- Grass seed
- Wide mouth drinking glass
- Spoon
- Googly eyes
- Waterproof glue, such as Gorilla Glue
- Small plastic or Styrofoam cups, such as Dixie cups
- Paint pens
- Felt or foam pieces in various colors
- Small clay pots
- Small bowl
STEP 1:
Stretch one nylon stocking over the mouth of a wide drinking glass to make pouring the grass seed and soil into the nylon easier. Use a spoon to sprinkle a small handful of grass seed into the stocking.
STEP 2:
Pour in one to two handfuls of soil on top of the grass seed, pushing the soil all the way down to the toe. Take the nylon off of the drinking glass, and knot the nylon close to the soil to keep the soil in place. This is your pet’s head.
STEP 3:
With the length of leftover nylon hanging downward, glue googly eyes on to the face area and add other facial features if desired. Let the glue dry completely.
STEP 4:
Fill the bowl with water and invert the pet’s head into it for several minutes. This wets the soil and grass seed and gets the seed growing.
STEP 5:
Insert a small paper cup into a clay pot and fill the cup with water, Flip the pet’s head right side up and insert the loose end of the nylon into the cup. The nylon will act as a wick to pull water up and keep your grass seed watered.
Place the little guy where he will get sunlight, and within a week watch for the seed “hair” to sprout!

Ahh, I too have to mow the lawn when I get home this evening, then a little drywall mudding in the kitchen ceiling to hide old nail pops before I repaint it. Weedeating, a/c work for my aunt, and a home depot run for some minor details. Supposed to help Ms. Mama pack some of our stuff we are not using as well tomorrow.

Bill Barr was a weak and frightened Attorney General who was always being “played” and threatened by the Democrats and was scared stiff of being Impeached. How do you not get impeached? Do nothing, or say nothing, especially about the obviously RIGGED & STOLEN Election or, to put it another way, THE CRIME OF THE CENTURY! The Democrats hit pay dirt with Barr, he was stupid, ridiculously said there was no problem with the Election, & they left him alone. It worked for him, but not for our Country!

EXCERPT: “Carlson called out broadcast news networks for airing Jan. 6 “propaganda” instead of focusing on much larger issues that are currently facing the United States, such high gas prices, increase in drug overdoses, the economy careening towards a devastating recession, and the United States being on the brink of a nuclear war.
“The other networks can’t be bothered to cover any of that tonight. Instead, they’ve interrupted their regularly scheduled programming to bring you yet another extended primetime harangue from Nancy Pelosi and Liz Cheney, about Donald Trump and Q anon,” Carlson said. “The whole thing is insulting. In fact, it’s deranged and we’re not playing along.”
“This is the only hour on an American news channel that will not be carrying their propaganda live. They are lying and we are not going to help them do it. What we will do, instead, is to try to tell you the truth. We’ve attempted to do that since the day this happened. We hated seeing vandalism at the US Capitol a year and a half ago, and we said so at the time. But we did not think it was an insurrection. Because it was not an insurrection. It was not even close to an insurrection,” Tucker Carlson insisted.”

You may have loved the original decision, and now feel angry because it could be reversed, but you should be wary of the process that delivered it. Yes, the Supreme Court does need to ensure that our fundamental constitutional rights are protected to stave off political oppression by the government, but abortion is not one of those rights, and throwing tantrums before the court or threatening the justices is not how this is supposed to work. Supreme Court justices should not be allowed to re-rite the Constitution to suit their own personal beliefs. This is not some fresh take from me. Justice Hugo Black put it well way back in 1965, in his dissenting opinion for an earlier, somewhat related case concerning birth control (Griswold v. Connecticut):
“I repeat, so as not to be misunderstood, that this Court does have power, which it should exercise, to hold laws unconstitutional where they are forbidden by the Federal Constitution. My point is that there is no provision of the Constitution which either expressly or impliedly vests power in this Court to sit as a supervisory agency over acts of duly constituted legislative bodies and set aside their laws because of the Court’s belief that the legislative policies adopted are unreasonable, unwise, arbitrary, capricious or irrational. The adoption of such a loose flexible uncontrolled standard for holding laws unconstitutional, if ever it is finally achieved, will amount to a great unconstitutional shift of power to the courts which I believe and am constrained to say will be bad for the courts, and worse for the country.”

EXCERPT: “FBI intelligence warning that Jan. 6 protesters might violently storm the Capitol, target lawmakers and blockade Democrats in tunnels was never sent to frontline police commanders and officers, but was quietly emailed the night before to a top aide to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, according to documents that raise new concern that politics trumped security preparedness in the fateful hours before the riot.
Capitol Police Deputy Chief Sean Gallagher emailed top Schumer aide Kelly Fado, now the Senate’s deputy sergeant of arms, at about 9:40 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2021 saying he wanted to “provide you visibility” to new intelligence that an FBI threat analysis center had received from a website owner, according to documents obtained by Just the News.
The information explicitly warned that demonstrators had detailed maps of the tunnel systems around the Capitol frequented by lawmakers and their staffs and they were plotting to create a “perimeter” for potential violence and to find “Democratic members early to block them from entering the Capitol.” One point of entry the rioters were targeting was the Library of Congress, he warned.
“The owner of the website submitted an online tip to the FBI NTOC (National Threat Operations Center) stating that he has noticed a significant uptick in new visitors to his website,” Gallagher wrote. “We have identified numerous open-source comments indicating groups intentions of finding the tunnel entrances and confronting/blocking” members of Congress.”

“Remarkably, according to a report the Senate published last year after a brief investigation of Jan.6 security failures, the FBI’s warnings were not distilled to the Capitol Police’s then-chief Steve Sund or its commanders and officers preparing security for the next morning, despite the rich detail and new threat analysis they provided.
“Similar to the intelligence already in IICD’s possession prior to January 5, the FBI SIR and the warning regarding the tunnel system were not elevated to USCP leadership,” the report noted as one of many intelligence and security failures of the department’s leadership.”

EXCERPT: “Ever watch 2020 on a Friday night? Or Dateline? What once used to be serious “news magazine” shows have devolved, like everything else in journalism, to a complete waste of time that exists only to manipulate your emotions and keep you watching. Every week, they’re reality murder mysteries where half way through you’re convinced (because producers manipulated you into believing) the killer is someone it’s not. By the end, the truth is revealed in a way that leaves you in shock. It’s as predictable as the setting sun. And so are Democrats.
When word came out this week that the January 6th committee – Nancy Pelosi’s inner circle of flying monkeys eager to do as much damage to Republicans as possible – had hired the former head of ABC News to “produce” their big prime time hearing tonight, I knew the only thing missing would be the melodramatic Keith Morrison voiceover.
The simple fact of the matter is the American people don’t give a damn about any of this. Was the January 6th riot good? Hell no. It was stupid. But was it a “threat to democracy”? Absolutely not.”

Entire Article @ TheRightScoop: “Whodathunkit? In Alabama today, a man “aggressively” trying to enter a school was shot and killed, thanks to a school resource officer and, get this, a daggon LOCKED DOOR.
Ya know, the stuff Democrats are trying not to do to protect America’s children because it would take attention away from their gun control fundraising? That.
From ABC, via TND:
‘Gadsden City Schools Superintendent Tony Reddick told ABC 33/40 that the man was aggressively trying to get into the building. Reddick said the man went to several doors trying to get in. When the principal saw this, they locked down the school and called the school resource officer who then called for backup.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency later identified the man as 32-year-old Robert Tyler White.
Sheriff Horton said White was shot outside of the school and the SRO, a Rainbow City police officer, who engaged White was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.’
That’s how it’s done. This is called protecting the vulnerable. Like the tweet says, this is the way.”

EXCERPTS: “It’s no secret that our higher ed system in America has become a playground for woke maniacs. In other words, it’s become an environment in which left-wing extremists feel empowered to bully, harass, and intimidate anyone who dares to differ with leftist orthodoxy. It’s also increasingly common for professors to take advantage of their leverage over students to indoctrinate them in neo-Marxist ideology.
——————-
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, not surprisingly, is taking on this herculean challenge. Under his watch, Florida has already passed a new law to loosen tenure protections for professors, and to require them to face a formal review process every five years, even after gaining tenure. Professors are also supposed to “remain productive” and refrain from “indoctrinating students”.
Those goals sound appealing enough, but the devil is in the details, as we all know. And some of those details may be fleshed out in the months ahead, as Florida legislators weigh new proposals to take hiring decisions away from college presidents and to give them instead to Boards of Trustees. There would also be a blanket ban on instruction in “critical race theory”.
———————-
And that, I suspect, is the only realistic path to reclaiming American higher ed: starve it of students, starve it of public funds, and starve it of attention and legitimacy, unless and until it rediscovers the love of learning and the respect for real diversity of opinion that were its founding principles. I won’t hold my breath, but, as a denizen of higher ed myself, I will never give up hope.”

entire article…Portland Maine is raising property taxes so illegals can get free housing
entire article
Portland, Maine to raise property taxes to pay for free housing for ‘asylum-seekers’
By Monica Showalter
Illegal aliens are known to cost U.S. citizens billions to support, but rarely is that experienced as directly as it is now in Portland, Maine, where city officials voted to raise property taxes in order to house 1,200 “asylum seekers,” along with 500 homeless.
According to WGME:
PORTLAND (WGME) – Portland property taxes will soon be going up by 4.8 percent.
Last year, families with a $400,000 home paid about $5,200 in property taxes.
With this new increase, it’ll be around $5,550 for that same home.
That’s an increase of about $350.
Portland’s finance director says without federal help, it will cost the city $9 million to house hundreds of asylum seekers and people experiencing homelessness.
To pay that $9 million, he says the city council would have to raise property taxes by 4.8 percent, which is exactly what they did Monday night.
That’s right, the taxpayers will pay. Since this is solid-blue Portland all one can think is: You get what you vote for. That said, even the bluest of blue cities has many people who didn’t.
What’s astonishing here is the logic of the argument — the feds dumped these illegals in Portland, or else dumped their relatives here, but apparently has no intention to pay for them — and Portland itself is too feckless to demand it, so Portland is paying.
But the bigger argument is why aren’t the illegals being asked to pay?
The migrants who have come in to Portland to take a stake in the “free” housing have paid tens of thousands of dollars to human smuggling syndicates to transport them from their homelands to the U.S. Since most of the migrants hail from Africa, that means considerable sums have been spent, upwards of five figures, crossing multiple borders, which is against standard understanding of asylum, which is for first country of refuge.
Shouldn’t people who can afford to shell out cash to criminal syndicates be reasonably required to pay for their own housing? Whatever happened to the ‘public charge’ law that requires migrants who cannot support themselves to be turned back?
The other potential solution is to require relatives to take them in. Since most of the African migrants are coming to Portland to be with family and relatives (it sure as heck isn’t the climate), it’s a pretty reasonable guess that most or all of them have family who should be contacted and required to take them in.
Any of these approaches would make more sense than simply taxing locals up the wazoo to pay for the free ride of more than a thousand illegal aliens who have managed to utter the magic word ‘asylum,’ as their basis for breaking into the country and staying. The idea that they are entitled to free housing is nothing short of outrageous, but over in Portland, all we hear are murmurs about the cost of living.
Yes, residents get what they vote for. But perhaps this bad news about property taxes will serve as a wakeup call to them that illegal immigration is not a cost-free crime. This time, it hits Portland’s residents up close and personal.

EXCERPT: “The top Ukrainian official who was fired for spreading misinformation has admitted that she lied about Russians committing mass rape in order to convince western countries to send more weapons to Ukraine. Lyudmila Denisova, the former Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, was removed from her position following a vote of no confidence in the Ukrainian parliament which passed by a margin of 234-to-9.
Parliament member Pavlo Frolov specifically accused Denisova of pushing misinformation that “only harmed Ukraine” in relation to “the numerous details of ‘unnatural sexual offenses’ and child sexual abuses in the occupied territories, which were unsupported by evidence.”
In an interview published by a Ukrainian news outlet, Denisova admitted that her falsehoods had achieved their intended goal. “When, for example, I spoke in the Italian parliament at the Committee on International Affairs, I heard and saw such fatigue from Ukraine, you know? I talked about terrible things in order to somehow push them to make the decisions that Ukraine and the Ukrainian people need,” she said.
Denisova noted that Italy’s Five Star Movement was originally “against the provision of weapons to us, but after [her] speech, one of the party leaders… said that they will support [us], including by the provision of weapons.”
Despite the fact that her claims about mass rape were false, they were repeatedly amplified by legacy media outlets like CNN and the Washington Post. “The media was quick to put this woman’s BS claims out but couldn’t care less about correcting the record,” writes Chris Menahan.”

EXCERPT: “Jordan’s letter argued the activities cited by Thompson amount to “conducting constitutional oversight of election integrity measures in advance of the 2020 election as a result of last-minute and unconstitutional changes to election laws in some states.” It declared his actions aren’t “evidence of the nefarious plot you imply it to be.” If it was, he said past statements by Thompson and other Democrats that questioned fairness of the 2016 presidential election would render Democrats “similarly culpable.”
“You seem to believe that you have the authority to arbitrate the scope of a colleague’s official activities,” Jordan’s letter says. “Respectfully, I do not answer to you or the other members of the Select Committee. I am accountable to the voters of Ohio’s Fourth Congressional District who I have the privilege to represent in the House of Representatives.
“You take the position that the Select Committee may pry into my deliberations and considerations informing my votes because the electoral certification process is unmistakably within the remit of our Committee”. But if you believe that this topic is a matter on which legislation could be had, then it certainly follows that my deliberations and information-gathering relating to the electoral certification process is well within the remit of the official activities of a Member of Congress.”
———————
Jordan’s letter to Thompson said that before he talks to the committee, he’d like it to provide him with “all documents, videos, or other material in the possession of the Select Committee that you potentially anticipate using, introducing, or relying on during questioning.” He also asked that it give him “all documents, communications, testimony, and other material in the possession of the Select Committee in which my name appears or in which I am referenced,” as well as its basis for thinking it’s constitutional to issue a non-ethics congressional subpoena to a Congress member.
“I hope that you will provide the entirety of this material without any further unnecessary delay,” his letter concludes.”

A gay pride parade in Germany was attacked by a group of young men of “southern origin,” a euphemistic term authorities usually deploy to describe Muslim migrants from North Africa and the Middle East.
The incident occurred in the German city of Karlsurhe last weekend.
Around 30 men of “southern origin” attacked the pride parade, setting fire to a rainbow flag and physically attacking the participants.
“The situation escalated late on Saturday evening when the men stole a rainbow LGBT flag from the parade and set it on fire,” reports ReMix News.
“A group surrounded, insulted, and beat the man who had been carrying the flag, the German news outlet Queer.de reported. Those who came to the victim’s aid were assaulted as well, with the original victim ending up in the hospital.”

EXCERPT: “The Biden administration’s bid to surrender American control over public health emergencies in the United States to the World Health Organization fell short at the UN’s 75th World Health Assembly in Geneva last month, but there is no reason to believe Biden won’t try again.
This drive is part of our illegitimate placeholder president’s effort to undo all the good things that former President Donald Trump accomplished. Trump slashed U.S. funding of WHO and served notice the country would pull out of the Communist Chinese-influenced agency, but Joe Biden aims to super-charge WHO’s authority in world affairs by amending an international pandemic treaty known as the International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005.
Of course, WHO is a bureaucratic monstrosity, a purveyor of leftist horror propaganda that, like its parent, the United Nations, should not exist.
WHO demanded the catastrophic lockdowns, getting creative and using them to push the pseudoscience of manmade global warming. “Countries must set ambitious national climate commitments if they are to sustain a healthy and green recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic,” WHO said in October 2021, claiming that “air pollution, primarily the result of burning fossil fuels, which also drives climate change, causes 13 deaths per minute worldwide.”

EXCERPT: “Which is to say, Nicholas John Roske came within a hair’s breadth of carrying through with the threat issued by the sitting leader of the United States Senate. That threat was quite specific — that the justice had “released the whirlwind” and would “pay the price” unless he would maintain Roe v. Wade the way Schumer demanded.
As Fox’s Jesse Watters has pointed out, by the Left’s own standards, what Schumer did was incitement. “By the Left’s own standards,” said Jesse, “they’re complicit. They argue that Trump’s speech on January 6 was a criminal act because it incited a riot at the Capitol. So in this case, by their own standards, the White House and Democrats in Congress practically endorsed the hit.”
Bingo. The question now is obvious: Will the United States Senate punish Schumer for his open incitement of violence? Specifically, when will the Senate censure Chuck Schumer? There is one particular moment in Senate history that should be recalled here — the censure in 1954 of Wisconsin Republican Sen. Joe McCarthy.
Recall that in the early 1950s, McCarthy was investigating communists in the U.S. government. But a legitimate investigation went out of control, with McCarthy’s Senate colleagues believing that McCarthy had allowed his political power and the headlines to go to his head. In short, they believed McCarthy should be censured.
Over at the National Constitution Center is the tale of what happened:”

Oh, I love these!!! From QT:

EXCERPT: “When we conservatives decline to volunteer as a dish in the progressive buffet, the leftists have no choice but to feed upon each other. We will see more of it as conservatives wake up and smell the kombucha – leftists only win when they can bully and intimidate, and if we choose not to let them do that to us, then it’s not as if they will give up their go-to move. No, they will turn on each other, and we will gobble up the Orville Redenbacher as they fight to the death for our amusement. And we are amused.
Donald Trump was the first guy to push back, really push back, but it was not simply his pugnacious nature and cunning ability with mean tweets that made him important. It was his moral position. At some level, for some reason, so many establishment Republicans had approached these bad faith actors as legitimate critics who were at best misguided and who might actually have a germ of a point within their critiques. Trump, however – having been among them for decades and understanding exactly who they are – read them correctly. He considered them garbage.”
———————–
But apparently, “professionalism” has changed. Lorenz and Sonmez still have their gigs. Instead, the WaPo pretended Weigel had done something wrong: “Editors have made clear to the staff that the tweet was reprehensible and demeaning language or actions like that will not be tolerated.” He’s been suspended for a month without pay – for a joke.
Yes, jokes will not be tolerated. But lies and public hissy fits – that’s all good. And it is good for us. The regime media and other institutions have no credibility to conservatives. That ship has sailed and sunk. But normal people, the people with residual respect for these institutions, will look at these shenanigans and shake their heads. “What the hell?” they will wonder.
And no wonder – the institutions have self-evidently gone to hell.”

“The thing about words is that they can only hurt you if you let them. At one point, “racist” and “sexist” and all the other lies might have stung. Now, we consider them a punchline and an outright slander. We laugh at them.
Which means we are not vulnerable to them, yet that’s their only flex. When Ilya Shapiro – no hardcore real conservative – got a job at Georgetown Law, the left jumped on a tweet where he accurately observed that the sole qualification of the latest SCOTUS leftist was her skin tone. He knew this because Grandpa Badfinger had boasted about it. There was a monthslong “investigation” of his statement of obvious fact, at which point they sort of cleared him on a technicality, finding that he was not yet employed when he said words they disliked. But they warned him not to dare speak the truth again. After letting them pay him for the months of the star chamber proceedings – a boss move that makes this lawyer proud – Shapiro told them (in a more polite manner than I would have) to go pound sand.
It means another non-leftist leaving academia, leaving behind only leftists, and that’s cool. Clearing out our own troops means no friendly fire damage when we destroy academia as currently constituted. And why not? It’s held by the enemy, used by the enemy to promote the enemy’s goals, and is generally useless. Let them have the current institutions so that there’s no one left on the right with an interest in defending them when we defund, disband, and destroy them.”

From The Bee:
“January 6th Hearing (2022)
Directed by Bennie Thompson
Drama/Horror – R – 6h 39m
The latest Democrat drama January 6th Hearing, the hotly anticipated sequel to Impeachment 2 and Mueller Report: The Reckoning, aired on TV screens for the first time last night, and I am happy to report that it met—nay, EXCEEDED—my wildest expectations.
I am still shaking and soiling my trousers hours after the credits rolled—it really was that horrific.
Over the course of several hours, we learned that some rioters tried to destroy our democracy by entering the Capitol Building and taking selfies and putting their booted Nazi feet upon Nancy Pelosi’s sacred desk. We learned that some of them broke a window and used bad language—even the “f-word!”. One of them wore a buffalo hat and face paint that made him look like the demon who haunts my sleep paralysis dreams. And then, to cap it all off, when they were done, they went out for tacos. TACOS!
The camerawork was masterful. The dialogue was sharp and poignant, delivered with the classic monotone cadence of a bored politician. Liz Cheney was a standout here. I fully expect her to be nominated for a Golden Globe, an Oscar, and Teen Choice Award. The revelations pierced me through to my very soul, scrambled up my insides, and made me throw up all over the floor several times.
Above all, the hearings proved one thing: the Republicans are mean and yucky and we must donate all our money to help the Democrat politicians win their reelection campaigns this year. If we do not do this, the Republicans will murder our holy democracy.
January 6th Hearing is a masterpiece—a tour de force that demands to be witnessed with friends on the largest IMAX screen available. Call on your local theater to show the hearings in every time slot around the clock forever. Democracy hangs in the balance. Walk—no, RUN—to your nearest IMAX and see this—you know—since you can’t afford gas to drive anymore.
5 out of 5 stars”
