Hanging With My Peeps

Before we moved to upstate Pennsylvania, I lived and worked in the southeastern part of the state at a logistics company. They moved cargo and containers from ports and railways all across the country. I was the “Cash Applications Manager”…lol…fancy title I know, and I was friends with several other managers in the company.

One of my best friends there, Jane, and I would walk every day we could, right after lunch. The building we worked out of, was nestled in a small industrial section of Bethlehem, and was not far from a main thoroughfare in the city. One sunny afternoon, we were feeling pretty ambitious and decided to take the “long” way back the office.

I could smell the air changing as we walked and a puzzled look must have crossed my face because Jane asked me what was wrong. “Can’t you smell it?” I asked.

She looked around briefly, sniffed and said “Just Born.”

Just Born is the maker of the famous Peeps…and jelly beans…and all sorts of wonderful candy. On most days when we walked far enough, or the wind was blowing just right, we could smell jelly beans being made–the fruity smells filling the air!

Of course, Just Born also is the home of the famous Peepmobile!

Peeps are not to everyone’s taste, but I love them! I enjoy mine stale. I remove the plastic wrapping from the peeps and let them sit out for a while to develop a crunchy outside…YUM!

  1. I always love Schlichter!!!!

EXCERPT: “See, it’s important that you not use undeniably accurate terms to describe our enemies because by doing so you may convey truthful information that hurts liberals and, according to our conservative cruise ship betters, that’s not who we are. Well, that’s certainly not who they are, because if there’s one thing they simply cannot accept it is victory. And that includes victory over perverts who what to chat up your young ‘uns in kindergarten.

Accordingly, we are not supposed to call groomers “groomers” anymore because people draw the right conclusions when we do, and that certainly will not do. If there’s anything the failurecons, who constitute a concentric circle with the Never Trump sissies, hate is winning. And we are winning the world’s easiest argument by taking the position that molesters and those excusing and facilitating them are bad.

Instead of arguing with nincompoops, do what Ron DeSantis does and simply smash their hideous dreams into little pieces.

Nor should you argue with the Conservative, Inc., chin-strokers who fret that “groomer” might not be the perfect term to describe teachers and other public school functionaries who want to use their special access to your kids to pursue their own strange-o agendas. In fact, it’s the perfect term. Groomers thrive on secret interactions where they shape and mold the minds of their victims away from those who would protect them.

If it walks like a groomer, talks like a groomer, and does Tik Tok vids like a groomer, it’s a groomer.”

    1. The K-mart in Norfolk closed quite a few years ago; I think the Sears store is still open but I’m not sure. There is still a ShopKo struggling along on the bypass where WM is located, as well as an OfficeMax – neither of them gets much traffic, tho. There is a Target in the shopping mall, with a Starbucks – that was where HB used to go. I haven’t been to that mall in years!!! That parking lot was where I learned to drive way back when it first opened.

        1. I was in Electronics, then was a register supervisor/refund counter. Wasn’t a bad place to work when I was 19-20. I shopped there quite a bit too. Shame they ran it into the ground and closed the stores.

  3. Here’s a thought that crossed my mind re: this issue with Jack Maxey’s claims of having found 450 GB of previously-deleted data from “a” laptop – is it the same MACPro laptop or a different one? – and the contradicting claims going around.

One aspect is the compression angle. Yes, you can compress the data into something I’ve always known as a Zip file (WinZip used to be the program for Windows), which then can be “unzipped” at a later date – it saves space on your hard drive. In addition to that, how do we know that this data wasn’t discovered via a Cloud file? I.e., no physical equipment at all?

so you’re delinquent on your student loans and instead of getting dinged on your credit report, the Dept of Ed is gonna wipe the slate clean and BAM you’re current again…so go out and buy that new car–nothing holding you back…if there’s no deterrent to this type of behavior, these kinds of people will constantly default. GO AFTER THE COLLEGES!!!!! by guaranteeing gov’t will cover the loan in default, they’ve raised prices thru the roof!
    FTA
Even before the public health crisis, repayment troubles were common among student loan borrowers.

The country’s outstanding education debt balance exceeded $1.7 trillion and posed a larger burden to households than credit card or auto debt. Roughly a quarter of student loan borrowers — or 10 million people — were estimated to be in delinquency or default and now stand to benefit from the announcement.

The Education Department said these borrowers will be granted a “‘fresh start’ on repayment by eliminating the impact of delinquency and default and allowing them to reenter repayment in good standing.”

  6. EXCERPT: “Juanita Broaddrick, the former nursing administrator who accused former President Bill Clinton of rape, has been banned from Twitter after tweeting about the effectiveness of coronavirus vaccines. Although Elon Musk has made news by becoming Twitter’s largest shareholder, it is clear that censorship still runs amok on the platform.

Fox News reports that Juanita Broaddrick has been banned from Twitter after she recently tweeted about the effectiveness of the coronavirus vaccines. Broaddrick made headlines following her accusations of rape against former President Bill Clinton, and has emerged as a popular conservative on the platform in recent years.”

but i only connected to the app thing to set up the time zone and stuff…which is now wrong do to daylight savings time and besides it stopped twice so it’s useless as a watch unless i download the app ,set it and delete it again…too lazy
but i never wear it to bed–people want to know how well they’re sleeping–really?
I would NEVER use it to time my period–which i don’t have anymore, but mood swings are still there…LOL…it would probably short circuit.

but i could not find a replacement that doesn’t have an gps/app attached–even for the kids models…and if they do, they only count steps and not exercise minutes, which i need.

  8. The Constitution does not authorize the federal government to prevent you from making your own firearm. This a fact that has been recognized for 200+ years. Also, Article 1, Section 1 (literally the first operative sentence in the Constitution) says Congress makes law, not POTUS! pic.twitter.com/vTFRvKYTVi
