Do you remember your first love? I do. It started when I was nine and my mom gave me my first sewing machine. It looked just like this one.

She began teaching me to sew by drawing shapes on fabric and had me sew around those shapes–learning how to maneuver fabric and control the machine.

When she was certain I could handle the machine, she finally allow me to choose fabrics from her scrap box. Mom was a skilled and proficient sewer–she had all sorts of fabric in there! And the colors!! I fell i love…with FABRIC!

I’ve worked with many different fabrics over the years: cotton, silk, wool, satin, fleece, flannel, denim, tulle.  You name it and I’ve probably worked with it. I’ve made jackets from denim, fleece and corduroy; men’s suits out of wool; shirts out of flannel and blouses out of silk.  And my wedding dress was satin, lace and tulle.

My favorite fabric though is cotton.  It’s easy to work with and comes in soooo many colors and patterns. 

And my favorite expression of my love of fabrics is quilts!

      2. kind of the point i was trying to make about 2 tech guys leaving truth social now…i wonder if truth social was a bright shiny object to distract the market before musk bought the shares…to restore free speech to the platform…
        now that he’s bought his stake and wants to/ will return free speech, does POTUS need to continue with truth social? if he can get someone to buy twitter and remake it, he can focus his efforts elsewhere…

    April 4 (Reuters) – The two Southern tech entrepreneurs had the two qualities that Donald Trump’s Truth Social startup needed: tech-industry expertise and a politically conservative worldview aligned with the former president, a rare combination in the liberal-leaning industry centered in San Francisco.

    Josh Adams and Billy Boozer – the company’s chiefs of technology and product development – joined the venture last year and quickly became central players in its bid to build a social-media empire, backed by Trump’s powerful brand, to counter what many conservatives deride as “cancel culture” censorship from the left.

    Less than a year later, both have resigned their senior posts at a critical juncture for the company’s smartphone-app release plans, according to two sources familiar with the venture.

    The departures followed the troubled launch of the company’s iPhone app on Feb. 20. Weeks later, many users remain on a waiting list, unable to access the platform. Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) Chief Executive Devin Nunes, a former Republican congressman, said publicly that the company aimed to make the app fully operational within the United States by the end of March.

    The company has an app for iPhones but no app for Android phones, which comprise more than 40% of the U.S. market, though the company has advertised seeking an engineer to build one.

    Boozer declined to comment and Adams did not respond to a request. Representatives for TMTG and Trump did not respond to requests for comment.

    The November Havana-Managua deal neatly aligns with a major spike in U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions of Cubans at the Southwest Border, although it’s unclear how many flew the route.

    For more than a year before the deal, apprehensions of Cubans were well under 5,000 per month, public CBP apprehensions data show. But apprehensions nearly tripled from October’s 5,893 to 16,550 in February. March numbers are expected to be out soon, and they’ll go much higher now that Cubans have a May 23 date for when they can go over the line and find more of a welcome than they might get with Title 42 in place.

    Even with the alluring, enticing promise of an immediate future without Title 42, a major surge involving Cubans already was underway. Cubans are well represented among migrants who in recent weeks have “completely overwhelmed” transportation, medical service providers, law enforcement personnel, and holding facilities in the Yuma and Del Rio Border Patrol sectors, according to Washington Post reporting.

    One reason DHS is so overwhelmed is because the agency has felt compelled to release most Cubans into the country on special humanitarian parole slips. The effect of this? Even more Cubans coming to cash in for one, which lures more Cubans for more humanitarian paroles, which draws greater numbers … and so on.

      1. these are the dumbest shits in history…excuse my french…they’re warning us of food shortages…and then they let in millions of extra people–who will get welfare, food stamps and sorts of gov’t help–driving the demand up HIGHER for food…thereby increasing the cost…they truly are evil bastards

  6. Such a wonderful opening!!!! I love it.

    They taught us on a sewing machine in HS. One guys father brings in an entire roll of Zebra print. So there were Zerba shorts, zebra pillows everything zebra because he has SOOOOOO Much.

    The father was like ‘ummm it was on sale’

    I wonder why.
