Deer are amazing creatures to watch! During the fall, buck will stake out territory by scraping the ground, rubbing their antlers on small trees and leaving plentiful scent reminders.

In the spring, a pregnant doe will generally remain with her herd or family until she gets close to her delivery time. At that time, she will separate from the other deer and stake out her own territory to give birth. And there’s good reason for that. After birth is a very dangerous time for both the mother and fawn. The smell of the afterbirth is a powerful attractant to many predators in the woods—bear, fox, and others. So once a doe gives birth, she immediately cleans the young fawn as best she can, and then gets it moving. She needs to find a place to safely hide the fawn and will only return to feed it several times a day.

Once a doe finds an area she feels safe in, and can find food and water nearby, she generally returns to that spot to give birth year after year. We have several doe who use the area around our house as birthing areas. There is the pond and some grass, but mostly trees and brush so tiny deer can hide safely while the doe can eat and still be close enough to her baby should she sense danger.
After a few weeks, the doe will introduce her young to us. She’ll allow herself and her fawn to be seen in the open, giving the other fawns a chance to play and run together. Mostly they stay hidden until the does are around, but there are some that can’t wait to explore on their own.

Last spring, a few doe had twins and several of them loved to lay on the well hill in front of the garden fence basking in the sunshine.
It’s these 3 particular deer we’ve been watching all winter. We believe it’s them because they are not startled by seeing us. They watch, definitely, but they don’t run. They’ve adopted this as their home and us as part of it. The 3 are constantly together. Except for the last 2 days. The larger one is missing and we see her by herself down below the big pine tree. She comes out from the treeline…eats some grass or weeds, lays in the sun for a while and then retreats. Too early for her to give birth, but I believe she’s already claiming her spot!

Morning!
Cold morning again…but no new snow on the deck…so there’s that!
we’re planning an indoor picnic for lunch…burgers on the grill, some potato and macaroni salads, maybe deviled eggs.

Probably a hit piece, coming from them, but this still should make one pause, IMO.
EXCERPT: “The Capital-Star located several of Mastriano’s memos and press releases from 2020 — which were reportedly removed from his website — through an Internet archival resource. In one such document from March 17, 2020, Mastriano said he was concerned that “existing HIPAA regulations are threatening the lives of our citizens…” He went on:
‘I am concerned that existing HIPAA regulations are threatening the lives of our citizens and depriving Pennsylvania residents of knowing if – and when – they were exposed to a contagious person. This emergency measure is necessary to share vital and life-saving medical information with those who may have been subjected to this dangerous virus. The new information that would become available would help us combat the spread of the Coronavirus.’
Mastriano, who has since built his brand around “personal freedom,” introduced a measure calling up the federal government to temporarily suspend HIPAA and “allow for full disclosure of details that are currently considered private, and are not disclosed to the public.” He said:
‘It is deeply concerning that the federal government did not proactively roll back this dangerous policy, which endangers our people. This situation changes daily – it remains my top priority to do what is in the best interest of protecting public health, and this measure will increase transparency in an effort to quell the spread of this virus.’
According to the report, the March 17 release was the first-term state senator’s “first official release referencing COVID-19.”

Still have a lot of work to do on my english paper notes…ugh! Did get half the yard mowed and re-potted some tomatoes for the 3rd time…they couldn’t go 3 more weeks in the red solo cups.

do you start your tomatoes from seeds?
we never tried that!

Yeah, we have 14 Romas, 7 Delicious, and 4 Grapes tomatoes. They’re easy to start. The peppers and asian eggplants are the ones that take forever to sprout. Only have 1 bell pepper and 2 hot peppers so far. We always end up buying plants though. My wife bought 4 broccoli to go with the ones we sprouted. Kale is all doing good as well as regular Black Beauty Eggplants. We have tons of peas that we direct sowed and carrots are now sprouting.

first off…do you have any names for the grape tomatoes? we found a great little greenhouse last year but her tomato plants were not listed as type just the name…and hubby wanted grape but got 3 plants that produced regular sized tomatoes–and boy did we get tomatoes! we ended up giving most away.
and second-is your garden fenced in?
LikeLiked by 1 person
No names for the grape tomatoes, we actually got seeds from some store bought ones. we like them better than cherry tomatoes for roasting and in salads…they are meatier and less watery. Our garden is fenced. I have 9ft. cedar posts I harvested from a patch of dead cedars in the woods. We use 6′ weld wire fencing around it. 50-60’x20′ total. We have several raised beds and a traditional ground plot for row crops and squash type plants.

wow! 9ft! that’s awesome.
we got 6 foot fence posts from an area at our son in law’s farm that they were renovating. problem is our “vineyard” is on a slope–so a deer figured out she could jump into the vineyard from higher up behind the fenced in vines. once she figured that out, others followed. they stripped the leaves (not the grapes) off the vines. now they have the taste…sigh…we have to rethink the whole fencing. there are springs under the whole mountain, which the grapes love, but in heavy rains, the posts become slightly wobbly…

Dr. Oz in the past has accused McCormick of taking money from “Clinton-loving Democrats” while trying to appear as a strong Republican. so the law says MANDATORY DETENTION and the administration ignores that…
FTA
President Joe Biden and border chief Alejandro Mayorkas are fuelling the migration wave into Americans’ jobs by ignoring the law that says migrants must be detained until their asylum cases are decided.
However, the Supreme Court will review the legality of Biden’s catch-and-release policy on April 26 in the Biden v. Texas lawsuit. The review will take place one month before Biden and Mayorkas lift the Title 42 barrier on May 23 and open the borders to an unlimited inflow of asylum-claiming migrants.
Federal law says any migrant on U.S. soil can apply for asylum. But the law also says: “Mandatory detention: Any alien subject to the procedures under this clause shall be detained pending a final determination of credible fear of persecution and, if found not to have such a fear, until removed.”
“The [federal] statute is very clear that aliens who show up at the border without documentation or a visa are supposed to be detained throughout their entire immigration court proceedings,” said Rob Law, the director of regulatory affairs and policy for the Center for Immigration Studies.
“Non-U.S. nationals (aliens) apprehended by immigration authorities when attempting to unlawfully enter the United States … must be detained while awaiting removal,” the Congressional Research Service wrote on May 10, 2019.
But Mayorkas refuses to detain the migrants, despite the damage to Americans. Mayorkas also minimizes the use of the Migration Protection Protocols program, which effectively detains migrants in Mexico until their cases are complete.
Instead, he releases about 60,000 migrants each month into the United States under a variety of legal claims, as an additional 40,000 job-seeking migrants sneak across the border.

hells to the NO! St Louis sets up reparations fund which residents can voluntarily contribute–but that’s as far as she got. who manages the fund, how do the reparations get distributed, how to apply? she has no clue. so this is a slush fund basically.
FTA
St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones, a Democrat, has signed a bill passed last month that will allow residents to voluntarily pay extra on their property taxes or water bills. That money will be deposited to a “slavery reparations” fund created to “reverse generational wrongs.”
Jones believes this must be part of a greater “plan for what reparations look like” in the city’s effort to “reverse generational wrongs,” according to the St. Louis Times-Dispatch. She also described it as “the first step” in righting the wrongs of slavery, an institution that was ended in the United States during the American Civil War, which claimed at least 620,000 lives in the 1860s.
Jones is the first black female Mayor of St. Louis, reports the Associated Press. She is among a group of 11 mayors who have promised reparations pilot projects to “set an example for the federal government” on how to roll out reparations on the national level, according to the St. Louis Times-Dispatch.

the promise:
The Affordable Care Act, passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama in March 2010, gives middle class families better health security by putting in place comprehensive health insurance reforms that will hold insurance companies accountable, lower health care costs, guarantee more choice, and enhance the quality of care for all Americans.
reality:
The average family health insurance premium in the US has more than tripled since the “affordable” care act was signed into law back in 2010.
The biggest beneficiaries: health insurers.

Entire article @ BB: “Most New Hampshire voters believe the country is on the “wrong track” and seem to be unsatisfied with President Joe Biden’s America well into the second year of his presidency, a Saint Anselm College survey released this week found.
Overall, the survey found Biden’s approval underwater by double digits, as 57 percent disapprove and 43 percent approve. Further, 56 percent find him unfavorable, and of those, 50 percent do so “strongly.” It also asked respondents, “Would you say that things in our country are heading in the right direction, or have things gotten off on the wrong track?”
A majority, 68 percent, said things have “gotten off on the wrong track,” while just one in five expressed the belief that things are on the “right track.” What is more, a plurality of Granite State voters say they would vote for a generic Republican over a Democrat if the election for Congress were held today, 46 percent to 42 percent:
Additionally, 53 percent say they would prefer a candidate for federal office who would “serve as a check” on Biden rather than someone who would help him enact radical agenda (41 percent).
The survey, taken March 23-24, 2022, among 1,265 registered New Hampshire voters, has a +/- 2.8 percent margin of error and comes as inflation and skyrocketing gas prices continue to plague Biden’s presidency. New Hampshire famously stands as the first in the nation primary, but it went to Biden in 2020 by 7.4 percent. Notably, the Granite State has voted blue in every presidential election since 2004.”

Stories from deer camp:
“We were deer hunting near the Dead River, and we had a guy in camp who was a real jerk and a drunk to boot. Never hunted, just boozed, never worked. And the booze screwed up his stomach, so he was in the outhouse all the time. Then one of the boys shot a black bear, and we got a bright idea. We kept the bear out of camp and laid it out so that his legs stiffened straight. Then when our pal was sleeping, we jammed the bear onto the seat in the outhouse with his stiff rear legs blocking the door from swinging inward, which was the way it opened.
Then we waited. Sure enough, after a while the drunk wakes up, heads to the outhouse, and pushes the door. “’Oh, ‘scuze me,’ he says. “He paces for a while, then he raps on the door, hard. “’Damn, get a move on,’” he says. But nothing happens.
Finally he says ‘All right’ and gets a running start and crashes his shoulder against the door and gets his head inside. For a minute we didn’t hear anything, then real slowly he says ‘Oh…my…God.’ He comes back in the cabin, white as a sheet, and never says anything or takes another drop for the rest of the hunt.
We had to sneak the bear out of there and come back for it when he’d gone home, but it was worth it.”

Duh, deer: “A deer hunter got on his hands and knees to take a closer at some tracks. That’s when he got hit by the train.”
Hunting is the least of their worries: “Two deer hunters met in the woods. The first one said to the other, “Boy am I glad to see you, I’ve been lost for hours.” The second deer hunter said, “That’s nothing, I’ve been lost for a week.”
Try and try again: “Two deer hunters hired a pilot to take them way back into the forest. After the hunt, the pilot returned and saw that they shot six deer. “The plane won’t carry six deer, you’ll have to leave two of them,” said the pilot, trying to be friendly. Unwilling to leave their dead deer, the hunters said “We got six on the plane last year.” The pilot gave in, and just five minutes after takeoff, the plane crashed into the forest. Lucky to be alive, one of the hunters said, “Any idea where we are?” The second hunter said, “Yeah, right about where our plane went down last year.”

Hmmmm….hit piece or not? It certainly doesn’t sound good….I tried watching his speech and never heard this portion but I skipped around so….
Entire article @ BB: “U.S. Army veteran Mike Durant, the current frontrunner in Alabama’s U.S. Senate Republican primary race, once suggested applying military philosophy to restore “law and order” in some U.S. cities by disarming the population. In 2011, Durant discussed the violence initiated by United Nations forces going door to door to seize firearms in a speech before the U.S. Army War College.
As an aside, he speculated about how doing that in “some of our U.S. cities” could be a means to achieving “law and order.”
“[F]rom a military perspective, the first thing that needs to be done is disarm the population,” he said. “Let’s face it, if we could do that in some of our U.S. cities, that would be a pretty good step toward law and order. But you ever ask yourself, why don’t we do it here? Because it’s hard. It can result in rioting and widespread rebellion and you know, making the situation worse than it already is. But for some reason, we sort of hand-wave all that kind of stuff and g0 head and hand all those missions down to our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines. And that’s what happens here.”
Scott Stone, a spokesman for the Durant campaign, offered the following statement to Breitbart News on Saturday afternoon in response to a query about the 2011 remarks:
“With new public polls every week confirming the grassroots surge for Mike Durant, it’s no surprise that the career politicians would come up with a new outlandish lie about Mike,” Stone said. “This is a ridiculous fabrication and mischaracterization of a speech Mike Durant gave hundreds of times over the last 20 years about military strategy. No candidate in this race has seen the things Mike Durant has in his life and no one will be a tougher defender of the 2nd Amendment than him.”
Watch the entire one-hour, 18-minute speech here.
Durant is primarily known for his heroic military service in Mogadishu, Somalia, during the Black Hawk Down incident in 1993.
Alabama Republicans will have an opportunity to select their preference for the November ballot later this year on May 24. Durant’s primary competitors are former Business Council of Alabama head Katie Britt and Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL). If none of the candidates can secure more than 50% of the vote, a runoff election to determine the nominee will be held on June 22.”

Poor Chrissy! Tee-hee!!!
Entire article @ FB: “An attempt by CNN to promote its new streaming service by selling NFTs of the opening moments of its programming has backfired, with a large majority of the product still available more than 24 hours after the initial broadcast.
The video NFT, or non-fungible token, features host Kate Bolduan welcoming viewers to the “first live broadcast” on CNN+, and is being sold for $50 on CNN’s NFT marketplace. The news network appears, however, to have overestimated the demand for the piece of digital history—of the 250 NFTs made available, only about 80 were purchased.
The head of CNN+ told the Hollywood Reporter, which decided to write an actual news story announcing the NFT offer, that he expected interest from “digital collectors.”
“CNN+’s debut is a historic moment for CNN,” said CNN+’s Andrew Morse in a statement. “We’re excited to raise the curtain on this new platform and making CNN+’s first live moments available as an NFT is the perfect way to celebrate our launch with digital collectors.”
The trendy pieces of digital property have taken off in recent years, with demand for even mundane offerings such as a picture of a New York Times column about NFTs going for over half-a-million dollars. Anticipated releases of NFTs typically sell out extremely quickly and for large sums of money. In 2021, an NFT collection sold by Brazilian artist Monica Rizzoli sold out in one hour for roughly $5.55 million.
The failure of the CNN+ NFT is the latest piece of bad news surrounding its launch. Fox News reporter Charlie Gasparino said just a day after the product launched that employees were already bracing for layoffs due to lackluster sales projections. The report was bolstered by CNN’s decision to slash prices for the service, offering users 50 percent off for life if they agree to shell out over $2.99 a month.
“CNN+ already showing no confidence in their product,” wrote reporter Saagar Enjeti. “Throwing away [subscriptions] at discount rates to fake their initial sign up numbers.”
The network has made a large investment in the streaming service, poaching reporter Chris Wallace from Fox News specifically for a show on CNN+. Other daily programming will come from Kasie Hunt, who previously worked for MSNBC, as well as longtime CNN hosts Wolf Blitzer and Brian Stelter. It is unclear whether any NFTs featuring Stelter will be offered.”

Entire article @ FB: “House Democrats on Friday picked a cable TV analyst who claimed Russia was behind the release of Hunter Biden’s emails to serve on a congressional commission to review the Afghanistan War.
Rep. Adam Smith (D., Wash.), the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, selected MSNBC pundit Jeremy Bash to serve on the Afghanistan War Commission. The commission will review the U.S. military’s involvement in Afghanistan from June 2001 to August 2021, when President Joe Biden ordered all American troops to leave the country. Biden has come under fire for his inaccurate prediction that the Taliban was “highly unlikely” to regain control of Afghanistan in the absence of American forces.
Bash’s selection could call into question whether the Afghanistan War Commission can conduct an unbiased investigation. Bash cheered Biden’s announcement in April 2021 that he would remove troops from Afghanistan by Sept. 11. Months earlier, Bash signed an open letter with 50 former intelligence community officials that claimed Russia had likely released Hunter Biden’s emails weeks before the 2020 election. The intel community veterans were responding to the New York Post‘s release of emails from a laptop that Biden allegedly abandoned at a computer repair shop more than a year earlier.
The officials said they did not have evidence that Russia was involved in the laptop release but that the disclosure had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”
Since the explosive claim, there has been no credible evidence linking Russia to the laptop. The owner of a computer shop in Delaware has said Biden dropped off his laptop for repairs in April 2019 and never retrieved it. Biden has said he was abusing drugs during the period when he allegedly abandoned his laptop.
The Justice Department is investigating Biden’s foreign business dealings, many of which are discussed in emails found on the computer.
Bash also served as a chief of staff to the heads of the Central Intelligence Agency and Department of Defense during the Obama administration.”

EXCERPT: “That brings us to the recent brouhaha over Mrs. Thomas’s text messages, which are much ado about nothing. They amount to little more than admonitions to Meadows to “stand firm” or links to YouTube videos hawking far-fetched theories of election fraud.
Knowing the texts were of no consequence, the Washington Post acknowledged Meadows did not even reply to many of Mrs. Thomas’s messages, and nowhere suggests she actually tried to help keep Donald Trump in power. The New York Times, for its part, got to the heart of the scandal, writing that the Thomases “have been a fiercely close couple for decades” and that Justice Thomas has referred to his wife as his “best friend.” Stop the presses.
Since his confirmation, Justice Thomas has been among the most revered figures on the right. It is obvious to us why he remains a target for his political adversaries, and equally obvious that the Democrats’ ploy will end the same way as the ones that preceded it.
We are grateful that he adheres to the same judicial philosophy today as he did when he was nominated and hasn’t fallen prey to the ideological drift that has infected so many other Republican nominees—perhaps because he is both impervious to the attacks on him and his family and, conversely, to the praise he might elicit from the elites if he abandoned his friends. (This is the man who slapped a 15-cent price tag on his Yale law degree, after all.)
For all their efforts, Justice Thomas is a devoted husband and a happy man. We’ll be happier still six years from now, when he becomes the longest-serving justice in our history.”

this is so lame…the left want to pack the court with leftists so badly, they’re inventing outlandish shit…and reveals the whole point behind the 1/6 commission…to try to destroy as many patriots as they can by any means necessary.
and the nerve of Ginni to have thoughts outside her husband’s control!

Entire article @ FB: “Washington Post journalist Taylor Lorenz’s relentless advocacy on behalf of the Chinese spyware app TikTok is finally being recognized by China’s state-run propaganda outlets. Thursday’s episode of Reality Check with Wang Guan on CGTN, the English-language Chinese propaganda network, featured a segment on Lorenz’s recent hit piece on TikTok’s biggest competitor, Meta, formerly known as Facebook.
The Chinese propagandist praised the Post for highlighting Meta’s efforts to “sabotage its main Chinese competitor” and “orchestrate an anti-China messaging campaign” by “exploiting [the] American public’s growing fear of China.” CGTN is a state-run operation controlled by the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party, the leaders of which are actively carrying out a genocide against Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang.
In other news, Lorenz caused a stir Friday by breaking down in tears during an appearance on MSNBC. The TikTok advocate claimed that her efforts to cultivate a personal brand as a journalist influencer have given her “severe PTSD” by bringing her into contact with “the worst people on the internet.” The MSNBC segment included a chyron citing a recent survey finding that one in three women under the age of 35 have experienced “online harassment.” It remains unclear whether Lorenz belongs in that category.
A Washington Free Beacon investigation published in December 2020 determined that Lorenz was born in October 1984, which would make her 37½ years old today. Alas, the results of that investigation were called into question on Thursday after Lorenz revealed that she was actually 43 years old.
It’s worth noting that Lorenz has previously endorsed lying about one’s age. “[T]he move is to always tell ppl ur older or make them think ur older than you are so they’re constantly thinking ‘wow, she looks great for her age!'” she wrote in September 2020. That same year, Lorenz appeared on the Forbes “40 Under 40” list. If she is actually 43 years old today, that means she would have been 41 at the time, which raises a number of troubling questions.
The Free Beacon will continue to investigate and will not rest until we obtain a (long-form) birth certificate. Lorenz, who has described herself as “the most online reporter you can find,” is best known for attending a TikTok celeb’s 16th birthday party.”

The RSBN links I’ve run across in the Tweets are only partial clips of Trump at the rally – this is the entire video of his speech – 1 hr. 47 minutes – I did have to turn my volume up on my computer for this one – it is usually the opposite:

the very first thing I taught my granddaughter to make!
once we smacked the hard boiled egg on the counter–on the top and the bottom–she would try to peel the eggs and it wasn’t going well. i showed her how to roll the eggs in her hands and the shells came off easily.
she still tells me I’m a genius for that…LOL
AND she is the one to make deviled eggs for her family.

am I the only one questioning this? Given the blatant and extreme corruptness of this administration how are we to believe that ANY special counsel will be objective? see Robert Mueller. Calling for one now, while the crime family is still the first family and dems still own the doj would be a farce. I can see why the dems might be clamoring for this now tho…they set up the SC, that SC finds no wrong doing and then if the repubs attempt another investigation after the midterms, they’ll call it a witch hunt…
FTA
Legal scholar Jonathan Turley has called for a special counsel to be appointed to investigate allegations of influence-peddling against Democrat President Joe Biden and his family members.
Turley has joined the growing chorus calling for investigations after several left-wing corporate media outlets recently confirmed that Hunter Biden’s “Laptop from Hell” is genuine.
The George Washington University Law School professor is pressing Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special prosecutor to probe the Biden family business for links with the president’s political career.
Turley said the “demonstrably false” statement from the White House, that Hunter Biden never made money in China, makes “the positions of both the media and Attorney General Merrick Garland absolutely untenable.”
