Happy National Nevada Day!

Here are some top MUST-SEE sites if you visit Nevada!

Fountains of Bellagio

Lots of sights in Vegas use bright lights and neon to get your attention, but the Fountains of Bellagio uses 1,000 jets of surging water, music, and—OK, yes—some dramatic lighting, too. (This is Vegas, after all.) And that combo has made this a thrilling must-see in a town overloaded with almost too many thrilling must-sees. You can catch a show every half hour during the day or, better yet, every 15 minutes after dark, when the water is at its most stunning. The music and choreography rotates, so the show never gets old no matter how many times you’ve seen it. In a city known for VIP ropes and high table stakes, there’s something wholesome about the all-ages, every-walk-of-life crowd that comes out for this free fountain.

Red Rock Canyon Conservational Area

A whole world apart but just 17 miles away, Red Rock Canyon feels like a break from the 24/7 big-city bling of Las Vegas. Head 30 minutes west and you’ll see for yourself: Towering mountains and red rocks rise up from the desert to create a spectacle all their own. With almost 200,000 acres of desert, pine forests, waterfall-covered canyons, and sandstone cliffs, Red Rock takes at least a day to explore. Since the Nevada heat is no joke, it’s a good idea to take in the sights by car with a 13-mile driving loop.

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden

Las Vegas isn’t exactly known for having distinct seasons—there’s basically just one: hot. But the Conservatory & Botanical Garden at the Bellagio is trying to change that. Just steps from the lobby of the casino-resort, this garden has brought winter, spring, summer, and fall to the desert in exhibition form, showcasing them with typical Vegas theatrics. Constructed from tens of thousands of plants and flowers, with animatronics and larger-than-life props, the space transforms as the calendar rolls on. Splashy experiential displays layer in seasonal scents, sounds, and colors. That means playful plant-made “pandas” for Lunar New Year and moss-covered cottages for fall. Even if you’re just passing through the hotel, it’s worth a stroll to stop and (literally) smell the roses.

Valley of Fire State Park

Valley of Fire is Nevada’s oldest and largest state park. Ancient trees and early man are represented throughout the park by areas of petrified wood and 3,000-year-old Indian petroglyphs. Popular activities include camping, hiking, picnicking and photography. The park offers a full-scale visitor center with extensive interpretive displays. The park is open all year.

Mob Museum

Rat Pack crooners, feathered showgirls, and yes, organized crime: These are the things that come to mind when you think of Vegas. The city’s got a long, complicated history with not-quite-legal activity—and now there’s a whole museum dedicated to telling those stories. And no, this place isn’t a glorification of the mafia. Instead, it’s an exploration of its fascinating decades-long tug-of-war with the law that played out in these streets. The museum’s location—a building downtown—is part of mob history, too: In the ’50s, it was home to the explosive televised hearings that shed major light on organized crime in America. In 2012, the neoclassical structure became the Mob Museum, revealing tons of cool exhibitions and artifacts about the mob throughout history. In addition to the open galleries, there are three add-ons: an underground cocktail bar, a ticketed tour of an onsite moonshine distillery, and an interactive forensics experience.

My parents went to Vegas a couple of times and I have a deck of playing cards from there, but that’s as close as we got…LOL

Gambling (slots) lost it’s appeal when they stopped using actual coins or even tokens.

The start of Holy Week. I gave up candy for Lent…looking forward to red jelly beans…lol

    1. Well, this sucks, if true: “It’s worse. It was all AI CSM. They’re letting him off, a settlement conference set for April 8, 2026.”

      Liked by 1 person

        1. Well, clearly AI is artificial intel; as for CSM, the only thing I can find that might apply is “certified scrum master.” As to what CSM means – Wiki: “Scrum is an agile team collaboration framework commonly used in software development and other industries.

Scrum prescribes for teams to break work into goals to be completed within time-boxed iterations, called sprints. Each sprint is no longer than one month and commonly lasts two weeks. The scrum team assesses progress in time-boxed, stand-up meetings of up to 15 minutes, called daily scrums. At the end of the sprint, the team holds two further meetings: one sprint review to demonstrate the work for stakeholders and solicit feedback, and one internal sprint retrospective. A person in charge of a scrum team is typically called a scrum master.”

Clearly, I don’t understand it either!

The Federal Communications Commission took radical action this week, banning the import of internet routers manufactured in foreign countries, citing the unacceptable security risks posed by Chinese hackers to U.S. critical infrastructure.

Foreign-made routers leave a secret back door to data intrusion.
“A majority of the routers currently in Americans’ homes and businesses are manufactured in foreign countries. Given the criticality of routers to the successful functioning of our nation’s economy and defense, the United States can no longer depend on foreign nations for router manufacturing,” the administration concluded.
    Several years of escalating warnings.

Shortly before the FCC moved to halt the import of foreign routers, the Trump administration issued a National Security Determination earlier this month, which warned of the vulnerability for the U.S. to rely heavily on foreign routers.

The FCC’s new policy adds all foreign-manufactured internet routers to the Covered List, which bans the import of such devices to the United States, but it does not affect previously purchased routers. However, foreign producers of routers that have conditional approval for use by the Departments of War and Homeland Security are exempt from the determination.

The dramatic move by the FCC followed several years of escalating warnings from the U.S. intelligence community and lawmakers, who were growing increasingly concerned about the security risks posed by consumer-grade internet routers manufactured by companies based in the People’s Republic of China.

The scrutiny focused on major brands like TP-Link, a Chinese company that is a global leader in networking devices, including routers. While TP-Link’s routers are popular for their affordability and widespread availability, their extensive use in American homes, businesses, and even government networks alarmed lawmakers.

Three campaigns—known as Volt Typhoon, Flax Typhoon, and Salt Typhoon—were cited by the FCC in its decision to ban foreign routers, citing the vulnerabilities that Chinese hackers exploited in these campaigns.

Volt, Flax, and Salt Typhoon were detailed in an advisory from the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which determined with the help of the FBI, that Chinese hackers were “seeking to pre-position” themselves on U.S. networks in order to carry out “disruptive or destructive cyberattacks” in the event of a “major crisis or conflict with the United States.

The U.S. agencies found that the Volt Typhoon compromised networks in several critical U.S. sectors like communications, energy, transportation systems, and water and wastewater systems.

Volt Typhoon, in particular, was characterized by its ability to evade detection, achieving “living off the land” by utilizing legitimate network administration tools already present in the compromised systems. This technique allowed the hackers to blend their activity with normal network traffic, making it extremely difficult for defenders to remove the threat.

Targets spanned U.S. critical infrastructure sectors both in the continental U.S. and in U.S. territories, particularly Guam, a strategic military hub in the Pacific that would be vital in any potential conflict between the U.S. and China.

Both Flax Typhoon and Salt Typhoon exhibited similar characteristics of exploiting common network devices, including routers, to gain initial access to U.S. networks, CISA found.

Stephen Miller: “We do NOT know the names of ANY SNAP recipient in the state of Minnesota. We just get a blank check. We have asked the state repeatedly and tried to compel the state unsuccessfully to turn over their SNAP enrollment rolls so we could ascertain such basic facts as, are these people even legally eligible to receive these benefits?”

“And the state has refused, absolutely, categorically refused, and in fact the state has spent millions of dollars in court for the singular purpose of trying to prevent the [federal government] from ascertaining the identity of a single SNAP recipient in the entire state of Minnesota.”

“Think about what this does to public trust, social trust, people’s faith in the system program.”

    Insanity!”

You say “insanity” ……. when you really describe an act of “sedition.”

Let’s cut to the chase and go directly to revoking their state charter.

This is the reason the GOP won’t abolish the filibuster IMO.

It protects GOP Senators from having to cast “No” votes that will make the MAGA base of the GOP unhappy. As long as the Dems can stop things from getting voted on that the GOP Senator doesn’t support, he’s saved from having to take a position on the subject.

The Senate has 10+ GOP members who do not support a significant portion of the MAGA agenda.

SAVE Act is a great example — most would support a simple Voter ID law. But one estimate I heard is that maybe fewer than 40 are solid votes on the SAVE ACT as a whole. But Dems filibustering makes it unncessary for them to act.

  5. Here’s a solution: death penalty for child molesters!!!!

EXCERPT: “Men lack a Constitutional right to sleep with, bathe with, and observe naked women. We would like to end this brief there, as such a proposition is not reasonably debatable.”

Thus opens a friend-of-the-court brief by the Independent Women’s Law Center (IWLC) in a case over whether states must pay for inmates’ surgical procedures to resemble the opposite sex, which has implications for the placement of males who identify as women in women’s correctional facilities, also a hotbed of litigation.

A federal court’s order that Alaska cannot “de facto” deny “gender confirming surgery,” finding the state Department of Corrections acted with “deliberate indifference” to child sexual abuser Emalee Wagoner’s “serious medical need” to remove his genitals and construct a nonfunctional vagina, spurred a flood of briefs in the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The Department of Justice, 23 states led by Indiana and Idaho and medical advocacy groups are urging the historically most overturned appeals court in the U.S. to overturn the district court’s finding that the 8th Amendment prohibition on “cruel and unusual punishment” requires taxpayers to fund so-called gender-affirming surgeries for inmates.

That’s an uphill battle, as a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit ruled in 2019’s Edmo that Idaho’s refusal to pay for a prisoner’s “sex-reassignment surgery” – a scientifically nonsensical term — constitutes cruel and unusual punishment, prompting blowback from nine judges when the full court declined to rehear the case.

Several briefs emphasize Wagoner thought he could get transferred to a women’s prison if he got a vaginoplasty, but IWLC’s brief – cowritten by former Trump White House lawyer May Mailman – says the district court required Alaska to “effectuate [Wagoner’s] transfer to a female prison” after surgery. Just the News could not find such an order or media reporting.

Magistrate Judge Matthew Scoble implied he was skeptical of automatically granting inmates surgeries as gender dysphoria treatments if “reasoned review of the ongoing science” shows “other treatments or therapies” are effective, or the literature shows “good-faith questions” on effectiveness, but said the 9th Circuit tied his hands in Edmo.

Emmanuel J. Cancel, Wagoner’s birth name, was sentenced to 60 years in prison under a 2018 plea that reduced the counts from 50 to just three, according to Frontiersman, though the news media now says the sentence is 40 years. He is housed at a medium-security men’s facility.

Superior Court Judge Eric Smith said the “sheer horror of what he did” was matched by “only two or three other cases that I have seen,” Frontiersman reported.

Inmate was doing well on hormone therapy, so why surgery?

The horrors of Wagoner’s attempts to resemble a woman are documented in the Justice Department’s brief, which warns that Judge Scoble’s “expansive misapplication of the Eighth Amendment threatens dire consequences for prison officials.”

Wagoner has a “record of severe mental illness and self-mutilation,” the brief says, describing the inmate’s repeated gruesome attempts at “self-surgery,” in Wagoner’s phrasing, and his continued crushing of his testicles with the goal of stopping testosterone production.

“While Wagoner’s then-fiancée was not incarcerated, Wagoner’s plan was apparently to be transferred to a women’s facility where the fiancée could then also be housed once she committed an appropriate crime that would result in imprisonment,” the brief says, citing Wagoner’s letter to his female partner…..”

  6. The Center Square: “President Donald Trump took aim at diversity, equity and inclusion policies in federal contractors, issuing an executive order focused specifically on the group.

The president has issued more than 225 executive orders during his second term, more than a handful of which have been focused on ending DEI practices in as much of American society as possible. Most of them he signed within his first 100 days, and some, within his first two days in office.

On Jan. 20, 2025, Trump signed an executive order calling for the elimination of all DEI programs and offices within the federal government. On Jan. 21, he signed another aimed at ending DEI considerations in federal hiring and public and higher education and ordering all federal agencies to use the law to “combat illegal private-sector DEI preferences, mandates, policies,” etc.

In April, he issued another order targeting disparate-impact liability, which applies when a policy disproportionately harms a protected group, even if it isn’t intentionally discriminatory. He also issued multiple executive orders against high-profile law firms the federal government has often contracted with to “prevent the transfer of taxpayer dollars to Federal contractors whose earnings subsidize, among other things, activities that are not aligned with American interests, including racial discrimination.”

However, this latest executive order goes further in directing all executive departments and agencies to not only sever ties with contractors who practice DEI but to ensure that all “contracts and contract-like instruments” with federal contractors, subcontractors, include promises not to engage in DEI.

The contractors must also promise to provide access to any “books, records, and accounts” that the government seeks to review to ensure their compliance with the order.

The Center Square inquired with the White House as to the specific inspiration for the latest order, but did not hear back by the time of publication.”

      1. I did the self-piercing but I bought a pair of earrings that were made for that – they pinched some when I first attached them – they just looked like regular hoops – and as time went on and I kept them on, I would press on them periodically and they gradually worked their way through. It hurt some but I could control that somewhat. IDR how long it took but it wasn’t very long – maybe 10 days or so, I guess.

    mindboggling regulatory capture on X:

“…Thune allowed a compromise bill to pass on the Senate floor at 3 AM last night, he fundamentally altered the legal landscape for the President’s emergency declaration and his Executive Order to pay the TSA.

The President’s Executive Order is now in grave jeopardy.

Previously, the White House could argue that a procedural blockade (the Senate filibuster) was the sole obstacle to funding, creating an “artificial” crisis.

However, by moving a bill through the Senate, Thune has shifted the crisis from a procedural failure to a legislative disagreement between the House and Senate.

    The Antideficiency Act (ADA) Trap:

The Senate’s action now forces this shutdown to qualify as a legitimate funding lapse under the Antideficiency Act.

    • Before the vote:

The funding gap was a “man-made” emergency caused by Senate rules, which offered the President a narrow opening to claim executive necessity.

    • After the vote:

It is now a standard bicameral dispute.

Under the ADA, the President generally lacks the authority to override a lack of Congressional appropriations resulting from a policy standoff between two chambers.

    The Real Motivation

Majority Leader Thune knowingly and deliberately protected Minority Leader Schumer’s ability to use the filibuster as a weapon against federal funding.

By clearing the Senate hurdle, Thune didn’t aim to reopen DHS; he acted to insulate the shutdown filibuster from judicial or public abolition.

His 3 AM action was not a rescue mission for the TSA, it was a strategic maneuver to preserve the Senate’s most powerful procedural blockade.” …….

Image for article: Millions Gather To Express Total Ignorance About Political System

U.S. — Millions of Americans took to the streets today in order to express to the world their total and absolute ignorance about the political system they live in.

Several major cities including Boston, New York City and Chicago saw over one hundred thousand residents show up to proclaim their abject incomprehension of governance.

“The world needs to understand how incredibly little we know,” said local man Roger McMahon, who had joined the march. “I really do not think the greater population appreciates how completely uneducated and illiterate we are when it comes to our own political system. That’s why I’m here marching. We’re going to join our voices together and let the message ring loud and clear that we are uneducated rubes in desperate need of a middle-school social studies class.”

Rallygoers marched throughout the day on Saturday, chanting various slogans such as “Where do I live?” and “How does government work?”

“It’s incredibly inspiring, seeing so many people walking arm in arm saying ‘Hey, I don’t know anything,'” said local woman Barbara Samson. “It feels incredible to be part of this movement of telling people that I’m a real dullard.”

At publishing time, the rest of the world had politely told the rallygoers that the message had been received.

BOSTON, MA — Dozens of significant injuries have been reported at the “No Kings” rally today after a multi-scooter pileup as the protest crossed Tremont Street.

Nearby trauma centers were reportedly inundated with patients who had suffered broken hips and femurs due to the collision. Area hospitals were also dealing with a mass wave of rallygoers suffering various levels of bowel and urinary incontinence.

“It’s old-person Armageddon out here,” said emergency physician Lee Bockelman. “There are shattered hips and leaking bladders everywhere. I’ve never seen anything like that. They don’t train you for this kind of mass casualty event.”

Healthcare officials accused rally organizers of negligence, stating that no one had considered the risks of having so many elderly people attempt to march through the streets. “I’ve never seen this many geriatrics concentrated in such a small area. What were they thinking?” said nurse Julia Mendoza. “There is pee, poo, and busted hips as far as the eye can see. We’re getting overwhelmed.”

At publishing time, the Chicago “No Kings” rally was shut down after several injuries were reported in a brutal collision of walkers on tennis balls.

      Mask off moment.

Speaker Mike Johnson QUESTIONS whether Senate Republicans actually read the bill they passed to the House before heading on recess.

Johnson then turned to the cameras and read a jaw-dropping section aloud for the media.

JOHNSON: “This gambit that was done last night is a JOKE.”

“I’m quite convinced that it can’t be that every Senate Republican read the language of this bill, and I’m going to just read you one excerpt of it, because it’s pretty alarming, and it says everything that you need to know.”

“In section four…this is on page two of the bill….”

“It says, ‘The contents printed under the headings of this bill, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and border security operations under the heading of US Customs and Border Patrol and Protection shall have no force or effect for purposes of this act and amounts specified in the final bill under the subheading border security operation, and under the heading U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and under the headings of US Immigration and Customs enforcement, in the Department of Homeland Security shall be…ZERO.’”

      “We’re not doing that.”…….

“I think we’re gonna’ need some new material, Chuck.”

As I understand it, there are two parts to funding ICE and Border Patrol: Enforcement (agents) and Operations (administration).

The BBB funded the agents but not HQ. They can arrest all they want, but there is no money at HQ to detain or process them. Clearly, this was done on purpose for this moment.

As I read it, Thune’s 3 am Zombie Bill defunds both Operations and Enforcement for both ICE and BP. But even if its just Operations alone, they’re still crippled.

But the purpose of the bill is not to become Law, which PDT would never sign anyway, but to thwart PDT’s Executive Order to pay the agents. Once the Senate passes something, it is said that a president has much less standing to do so.

And the Filibuster let’s Traitor Thune claim he had no other option than to enact the satanic priorities of Democrats.

But the truth is, those are his priorities, too. Schumer and Thune are PARTNERS, both paid by the same wicked Nephilim Mafia to destroy America, while playing “Republicans versus Democrats” for the rubes. That’s you. And me. But mostly you.

I think they want to engineer a terrorist event with Barack Obiden’s Terror Cells and try to pin it on President Trump for this ICE Funding Debacle and the Iran Action. We pray against that in Jesus’ Mighty Name!

But the important thing is that people WAKE UP and realize both Left Twix and Right Twix are trying to enslave us for the Wicked Lizard Overlord Pervert Pedophile Mafia. We rebuke such in the Name Above All Names, Yeshua Jesus our King, Amen!

    Psalm 2

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people devise a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

3 “Let us break Their bonds asunder, and cast away Their cords from us.”

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision.

We stand on Your Holy Word, Lord, Amen!
