    1. Good morning, Pat!

I started a quilt once . . . the pieces ended up in bag, given to Goodwill. 😁 not my forte.

Rained yesterday, today everything is snow covered 30*. More wind and snow coming.

Monday: Mop, Vac, and meatloaf for dinner is on agenda.

      1. Good Morning Gina!
my mother in law was an expert quilter–fine delicate stitches–and she taught me. Her color choices were …not always the best…lol
when she passed, we found a baby quilt in her frame nearly finished. So i finished it and sent it to her niece (whom it was intended).
My house is full of quilts–several on the bed, wall hangings, pillows, and place mats. I have always loved sewing and fabric.
I did my laundry already this morning and I am planning on spring cleaning another cabinet in the kitchen–the one where the cool whip bowls disappear and the lids multiply…LOL

      2. Morning, Gina! That’s another thing I don’t do unless I have to = cook! Never got into quilting but I made a lot of crocheted afghans! I also enjoy latchhook – I have a huge piece I did while I was sitting at home waiting for my daughter to arrive in 1980.

I walked to the local drug store a block from our TH (my hubby had the car) and found this kit just by chance. Since then, I’ve made 5 or 6 other pieces.

        1. Beautiful latchhook! Now that seems more my speed these days.

🤞 your furnace lasts at least rest of season. Change filters often?

Not a cook!! During the Artic freeze I found some Hormel Compleats in pantry, and the meatloaf dinner was surprisingly good. Like what you’d get in a diner: mystery meat, mashed potatoes, brown gravy.

          1. I used to change the filter every month but the filter the gas company repair guy and the local repair guy tell me to use is so thin, with huge gaps all over, it’s almost like no filter at all! Since I blocked up all the exterior vents to the crawl space, I have stopped changing it every month and in fact, haven’t even opened it in at least 6-7 months. And it runs much better! But it is about at the end of it’s life span, I know that, and it’s something that I have been trying to plan for….

            1. hey I crochet too!
every fall I crocheted a small throw to give to my flea market friend and she would distribute them (free of course) to the old timers at the flea market or the local VFW–her husband is a vet.

              1. One year at Xmas, I crocheted shawls for Xmas gifts for some of my fellow troops to give their wives/GFs. Charged $20 and they were thrilled! But mostly I made afghans – I still have a couple of them – the beige one is big enough to fit a CA king size bed. I had it on my waterbed back in VA. Somewhere, I’ve got pictures…..yeah, here it is – big enough to fit this WB and hang over the sides. In fact, it is underneath the quilt on the bed in this picture….

    2. Morning, Pat! Brrrr….only 4 here this morning but the snow has stopped and the skies are clear – a lot of drifts after that wind but also a lot of bare spots. No sign of Wheezer – I expect he’s hunkered down somewhere. Had a scare last night when I noticed it was awfully cold inside and discovered my furnace wouldn’t come on. I got all my space heaters plugged in and ready to go, then turned the furnace off and back on again. That kicked it into gear, thankfully. I really have to get a new furnace installed! Money, money, money….sigh. It never ends!

        1. Nope – gas company charges close to $100 for an annual spring check-up & any needed svc calls thru the year are extra. I’d rather pay $12/mo. for a service plan that covers the A/C, furnace and fridge on an emergency basis – a technician will come out, usually w/in a couple of hours, if one of them won’t come on or isn’t cooling/heating. In fact, I’ve recently been working on paying down one of my CCs just so I can replace it soon.

Senator Mike Lee debunks Democrats narrative that 50% of Americans will have to pay $186 for a passport in order to vote under the Save America Act

Every American Citizen will still be able to easily vote and “it will not cost them a dime”

Mike Lee “I’m happy to report to my dear friend colleague, Senator Durbin from Illinois. You’re in luck. We’ve taken care of that. When you read the bill, what you’ll discover is that we’ve made special accommodation for those who don’t have documentation.

For those who can’t find their birth certificate, maybe their house burned down, maybe their dog ate it, or whatever it is, when all else fails, if you don’t have documentation establishing the information on your birth certificate or what would be in a passport or otherwise, the bill contains a provision requiring each state to allow an alternative mechanism by which someone can, by attestation issue a sworn statement, establishing the critical facts underlying their citizenship.

It then puts the onus on the state to follow up on that and to, and to determine the authenticity of it. States have access to their own records. States have reciprocity with other states and are able to achieve verification of that.

So we’ve taken care of that problem, and so I’m sure you’ll be elated to hear that, and we look forward to having your affirmative vote when we vote on the Save America Act. We took great pains to go out of our way to make sure that no American, no American would be left in the dark. Well, this will not cost them a dime. Listen and no one will be excluded if they can’t find their documentation.”

    President Trump’s Truth Social

    “Donald J. Trump
    @realDonaldTrump

The Courts treat Republicans, and me, so unfairly, always seeming to protect those who should not be protected.
They are highly politicized. Cases don’t matter, the Judge does!

As an example, how is this absolutely terrible Federal Reserve Chairman, Jerome “Too Late” Powell, not even allowed to be investigated for the horrible job he does? How is he allowed to be Billions of Dollars over budget, and years behind schedule, on the simple renovation of the small Federal Reserve Complex in Washington, D.C., where he created an absolute disaster — A money pit, and embarrassment to our Country for the whole World to see! It is a little project that has been under construction for many years.
The Contractor on the job, along with Powell, should also be heavily investigated, in that it is impossible for a “professional” to have such enormous Cost Overruns.
It is THE HIGHEST PRICED BUILDING, PER SQUARE FOOT, OF ANY PROJECT EVER BUILT, with no end in sight, and may not even be open for many years to come.

I strongly criticized Jerome “Too Late” for his horrible performance throughout his tenure, which is either gross incompetence, total dishonesty, or both, and, in return for this well justified criticism, get viciously and wrongfully blamed by, as usual, a Wacky, Nasty, Crooked, and totally Out of Control Judge, named James Boasberg, a man who suffers from the highest level of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), and has been “after” my people, and me, for years.

The D.C. Circuit eagerly supported the arrest and persecution of innocent Republicans for no crimes at all, but is now preventing even a basic investigation into the gross financial mismanagement of the Federal Reserve.

In case after case, Boasberg has displayed open, flagrant, and extreme partisan bias and contempt against Republicans and the Trump Administration.
To preserve the integrity of the Judiciary, he should be removed from all cases pertaining to us, and suffer serious disciplinary action, as should numerous other Corrupt Judges that, unfortunately, our Country has had to endure!
What Boasberg has done on the “Too Late” Powell case, and many others, has little to do with the Law, and everything to do with Politics.

He is exactly what Judges should not be! Boasberg would do better to focus on Justice and Fairness, not his own, and the Democrats’, Political Agenda, which has become LEGENDARY!

Much like “prosecutor” Deranged Jack Smith, and many others, Boasberg is a disgrace, as was his predecessor, to our Legal Process, and our Highly Politicized Court System, which was just witnessed firsthand by the unfortunate and unwarranted TARIFF decision, recently handed down by the United States Supreme Court, which was a GIFT to Countries and Companies who have been “ripping off the United States of America,” for decades, at levels never seen before.

The decision that mattered most to me was TARIFFS! The Court knew where I stood, how badly I wanted this Victory for our Country, and instead decided to, potentially, give away Trillions of Dollars to Countries and Companies who have been taking advantage of the United States for decades.

Our Supreme Court has made these Countries very happy but, as the Court pointed out, I have the absolute right to charge TARIFFS in another form, and have already started to do so.

The Hundreds of Billions of Dollars that our Adversaries want our Country to pay back to others that have disrespected the U.S.A., until I came along, should be marked down, in the eyes of the Public, as just another reason why the United States had been in such major decline — But, not anymore, because we have MADE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN and, very soon, it will be GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!

I want to thank Justices Alito, Thomas, and Kavanaugh for their Wisdom and Courage pertaining to the TARIFF case, and for understanding, in addition to the Law, that our “Unfriendly Competitors” should not be reimbursed and rewarded for the decades of Damage they have caused THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

I will fight hard to make sure that this does not happen!

The Democrats on the Court always “stick together,” no matter how strong a case is put before them — There is rarely even a minor “waver.”

But Republicans do not do this. They openly disrespect the Presidents who nominate them to the highest position in the Land, a Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and go out of their way, with bad and wrongful rulings and intentions, to prove how “honest,” “independent,” and “legitimate” they are.
The Democrat Justices just vote Democrat — They always stick together!

Our Country was unnecessarily RANSACKED by the United States Supreme Court, which has become little more than a weaponized and unjust Political Organization.

The sad thing is, they will only get worse! They wouldn’t even call out The Rigged Presidential Election of 2020, because they said that I, as President of the United States, did not have “standing” to challenge it, and now, with time, it has been conclusively proven to be stolen — And look what happened to our wonderful Nation by allowing a grossly incompetent man, Sleepy Joe Biden, to be our “President.”

This completely inept and embarrassing Court was not what the Supreme Court of the United States was set up by our wonderful Founders to be. They are hurting our Country, and will continue to do so.

All I can do, as President, is call them out for their bad behavior!

This statement about the United States Supreme Court will cause me nothing but problems in the future, but I feel it is my obligation to speak the TRUTH.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

  4. Just The News: “The Trump administration has invoked the Defense Production Act to compel an oil company to restart previously shut-down offshore operations in California, arguing the step is needed to guard against potential supply disruptions and limit dependence on imported crude.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Friday directed Sable Offshore Corp., a Houston-based oil and gas company, to restore activity at the Santa Ynez Unit and the Santa Ynez Pipeline System located off the coast of Santa Barbara, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

The directive gives priority to bringing oil production and pipeline capacity back online so crude can move through the Las Flores Pipeline System to Pentland Station, which is a crucial inland hub that routes offshore oil to refineries and into interstate pipeline networks.”

  5. EXCERPT: “This article quotes crass language for male bodies.

Judge Lawrence VanDyke pre-emptively nuked corporate-media pearl-clutching in his recent dissent from a Ninth Circuit decision forcing a nude, female-only Korean spa frequented by minors to admit men in the name of “trans rights.”

“Squirm as we might, I think it’s only fair for our court to have a small taste of its own medicine,” VanDyke wrote. “Sometimes, ‘dignified’ words are employed to mask a legal abomination.”

This was part of VanDyke’s defense for opening his dissent with: “This is a case about swinging dicks. The Christian owners of Olympus Spa — a traditional Korean, women-only, nude spa — understandably don’t want them in their spa. Their female employees and female clients don’t want them in their spa either. But Washington State insists on them. And now so does the Ninth Circuit.” He continues:

You may think that swinging dicks shouldn’t appear in a judicial opinion. You’re not wrong. But as much as you might understandably be shocked and displeased to merely encounter that phrase in this opinion, I hope we can all agree that it is far more jarring for the unsuspecting and exposed women at Olympus Spa — someo as young as thirteen — to be visually assaulted by the real thing.

After VanDyke’s dissent was released on March 12, corporate media mimicked his Ninth Circuit colleagues’ fake horror at crude words used to describe abominable realities.

Reuters went with: “US judges condemn Trump appointee’s ‘vulgar barroom talk’ in their transgender bias case.” The article notes that 27 of VanDyke’s child-hating colleagues on his circuit “denounced VanDyke’s comments as ‘vulgar barroom talk’ that could undermine public trust in the courts” in a written response accompanying the opinions in the case.

“We have a winner for most grotesque Supreme Court audition yet,” was the headline for Slate’s article attacking VanDyke instead of perverts wagging their privates at kids. Of course Slate never attacks the three Supreme Court justices or hundreds of other federal judges who support policies letting sickos chop off kids’ breasts and genitals.

Bloomberg Law’s headline was: “VanDyke Uses Crude Phrase in Case Over Spa’s Transgender Policy.”

Proving VanDyke’s point, reporter Suzanne Monyak quoted from the Ninth Circuit’s collective hysteria over Flannery O’Connor-esque language describing their decision that forces little girls into rooms with naked male strangers. Twenty-nine federal judges left the underlying decision untouched while complaining about VanDyke vividly attacking it.

‘That language makes us sound like juveniles, not judges, and it undermines public trust in the courts. The lead dissent’s use of such coarse language and invective may make for publicity or entertainment value, but it has no place in a judicial opinion,’ wrote Senior Judge M. Margaret McKeown, joined by 26 other Ninth Circuit colleagues.

Judge John B. Owens, an Obama appointee, joined by Trump-appointed Judge Danielle Forrest, wrote a separate statement on VanDyke’s dissent with one line: ‘Regarding the dissenting opinion of Judge VanDyke: We are better than this.’

The San Francisco Chronicle might take the cake for most Orwellian headline on this story. It reads: “A Trump-appointed judge used a vulgar term to attack trans women. His colleagues hit back.”

Predictably, corporate media and politicized judges don’t care about strong language when it is used to slam their political opponents. It’s clear they care neither about vulgar language nor about the horrifying reality that they’re enabling the abuse of women and children. Their fake morals are completely subjugated to their political goal of power at all costs…….”

  6. “This Week’s Terror Attacks Prove Immigration Isn’t ‘Good’ Just Because It’s Legal — Thursday’s attacks are just the latest reminder that good immigration policy isn’t simple a matter of legality.”

The Federalist, By: Brianna Lyman, March 13, 2026

    Statue of Liberty

“Less than a month ago Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said his “approach to immigration is very simple.” “Legal? Good. Illegal? Bad,” Cruz said. But a series of recent terrorist attacks proves that legal immigration can be just as dangerous as illegal immigration. On Thursday Mohamed Bailor Jalloh — a Sierra Leone national — opened fire at Virginia’s Old Dominion University, killing Brandon Shah. Jalloh came here legally. But his legality didn’t stop him from providing material support to ISIS — the Islamic terrorist organization — in 2016. It also didn’t stop him from murdering an American hero.

That same legality didn’t stop 41-year-old Ayman Mohamad Ghazali — a Lebanese national who came to this country in 2011 and was naturalized in 2016 — from crashing his car into a Michigan synagogue on Thursday while armed with a rifle. Nor did it stop Senegal national Ndiaga Diagne, who opened fire at an Austin, Texas, bar, earlier this month, killing three and wounding 13 more. Diagne came to the United States in 2000 and was later naturalized in 2013.

Meanwhile New Yorkers were spared on Saturday after two radical Islamists whose parents immigrated here from Afghanistan and Turkey allegedly tried to bomb anti-Islam protesters outside of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s official residence. Legality also didn’t stop the Boulder, Colorado, terror attack, allegedly by an Egyptian national, or the fatal shooting of a National Guardsman in Washington, D.C., allegedly at the hands of an Afghan national.

In each of these cases, the suspects themselves were either legal immigrants (at some point) or the children of immigrants. But coming here legally did not prevent radicalization or violence.

Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Thursday that the United States needs to have a serious conversation about legal immigration. “We need to reform our legal immigration system. A lot of these people have come in legally. A lot of American workers have been displaced by foreign workers,” Schmitt said. “A lot of American students have been displaced by these visa mills at universities and tax breaks that companies get after the fact.”

For decades Washington has operated under the false pretense that immigration is objectively good so long as it is done legally. That assumption has led to us to suicidal decisions — like admitting Senegalese, Lebanese and Sierra Leone terrorists who murdered Americans or attempted to do so. It has also, as Schmitt mentioned, led to the displacing of American workers and students, as well as a disruption in national unity and cohesion. As these terrorist attacks show, legality alone does not make someone American in culture and norms, nor does it ensure that these immigrants share the same political and religious values that underpin our republic.

Alexander Hamilton warned of this very reality in 1802, saying that it is “extremely unlikely” that foreigners would “bring with them the temperate love of liberty” that is so necessary for a republic. Instead, people tend to bring with them the same habits and politics and cultural norms formed in the places that they are now leaving.

When immigration policy ignores these differences, it leads to the importation of radical ideologies — like radical Islam and its terrorist behavior — and a population of foreigners who are simply unable to assimilate to the American way of life……”

  8. “A Florida man is in hot water after allegedly pulling off what might be one of the strangest thefts you’ll hear about this week – more than $600,000 worth of potatoes and onions. Jason Canals, 39, was arrested March 10th, 2026 and accused by federal prosecutors of running multiple schemes to scam wholesale produce companies out of massive shipments of vegetables.

According to investigators, Canals allegedly used a company’s name and email signature to request shipments of produce he had no authority to order. Once the trucks were rolling, prosecutors say he diverted the deliveries to locations he controlled – leaving wholesalers with the bill and a whole lot fewer taters and onions.

Prosecutors say Canals also allegedly sent fake paperwork to companies to make it look like he had already paid for the produce. In reality, investigators say the payments never existed. By the time everything was sorted out, the losses reportedly topped $600,000, including the produce and transportation costs.

Now the accused “tater bandit” faces eight federal charges of interstate transport of stolen property, each carrying up to 10 years in prison if convicted. The case is still under investigation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Inspector General along with the FBI.”

“Trump Setting the Stage to Leave NATO?”

    Clandestine, Mar 16, 2026

“This is an EXTREMELY important clip. Trump blasts NATO and calls out countries that “we’ve been protecting for 40 years,” for not being eager to assist with the Strait of Hormuz.

We don’t NEED the help, but I think Trump is using this moment to see/show who our true allies are. I think Trump is showing the world how our NATO “allies” provide no benefit to the US. I think Trump is making an example out of NATO, and making the argument as to why we should eventually withdraw from NATO.

This is why the Dems, under Biden in 2023, passed a bill with a provision that prevented the President from unilaterally withdrawing from NATO, without Congressional approval, just in case Trump won 2024 and wanted to leave NATO. Well Trump won 2024, and here we are.”

  18. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Monday signed an executive order forming a national task force to combat public fraud and placed Vice President JD Vance in charge of the effort.

“If we found half the fraud in this country… we would have a balanced budget,” Trump insisted. He further joked that he expected Vance to take the role seriously and not merely accept a nominal post, pointing to his predecessor. “This will not be like a Kamala,” he said, referring to former Vice President Kamala Harris’s tenure as border czar. “I promise, sir,” Vance replied.

Trump previously announced that Vance would head the task force. The post marks one of the first major dedicated assignments for the vice president of the administration.

Public welfare fraud has been in the public spotlight since revelations of large-scale public funds abuse in Minneapolis, Minn., that was linked to the Somali expat community.

“This is a very important whole of government approach,” Vance said, before highlighting a fraud ring the Trump administration had already discovered in which Somalis allegedly defrauded autism therapy funding. “That kind of fraud is one example of probably hundreds just within the state,” he said.”

When I was a sophomore, our biology teacher came up with the idea of a box for students to leave anonymous questions about sexual matters that they were embarrassed to ask about in class. My Dad, who was a mail man, happened to stop in at a local diner on his route and was chatting with the waitress, who was a student. She told him about it and he went to my teacher and complained. My teacher then called me out of class to ask if there was anything he was doing that embarrassed me. What embarrassed me was my Father opening his big mouth and getting involved! I was mortified!!!

The meeting is now stayed. U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy’s 45-page ruling also stayed the appointment of 13 new ACIP members appointed between June 2025 and January 2026.

The ruling also stays the changes U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made in January to the CDC’s recommended childhood immunization schedule. Those changes reduced the number of diseases for which children would receive recommended routine vaccinations from 17 to 11.

The AAP had sought an injunction. Instead, Murphy issued stays. There is a legal distinction between an injunction and a stay. An injunction typically prohibits a person or entity from doing something, while a stay pauses an action that is already ongoing or pending.

The AAP sought the injunction as part of a lawsuit they and several other medical groups filed in July 2025.

The groups sued Kennedy and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) over changes to COVID-19 vaccine recommendations for children and pregnant women and have amended their lawsuit several times in response to new HHS and CDC policies and recommendations.

In a post on Substack following the ruling, ACIP member Dr. Robert Malone accused the court of “judicial overreach” and framed the ruling as the latest development in a battle between “the administrative state” and “the people’s mandate.” He also suggested that the ruling is likely to be overturned…..”
