I found this wonderful article from Suze Orman which details how long one should keep types of paperwork.
From Suze Orman:
What Personal Documents Should You Keep and for How Long?
Keep until warranty expires or can no longer return or exchange
- Sales Receipts (Unless needed for tax purposes and then keep for 3 years)
What to keep for 1 month
- ATM Printouts (When you balance your checkbook each month throw out the ATM receipts)
What to keep for 1 year
- Paycheck Stubs (You can get rid of once you have compared to your W2 & annual social security statement)
- Utility Bills (You can throw out after one year, unless you’re using these as a deduction like a home office –then you need to keep them for 3 years after you’ve filed that tax return)
- Cancelled Checks (Unless needed for tax purposes and then you need to keep for 3 years)
- Credit Card Receipts (Unless needed for tax purposes and then you need to keep for 3 years)
- Bank Statements (Unless needed for tax purposes and then you need to keep for 3 years)
- Quarterly Investment Statements (Hold on to until you get your annual statement)
What to keep for 3 years
- Income Tax Returns (Please keep in mind that you can be audited by the IRS for no reason up to three years after you filed a tax return. If you omit 25% of your gross income that goes up to 6 years and if you don’t file a tax return at all, there is no statute of limitations.)
- Medical Bills and Cancelled Insurance Policies
- Records of Selling a House (Documentation for Capital Gains Tax)
- Records of Selling a Stock (Documentation for Capital Gains Tax)
- Receipts, Cancelled Checks and other Documents that Support Income or a Deduction on your Tax Return (Keep 3 years from the date the return was filed or 2 years from the date the tax was paid — which ever is later)
- Annual Investment Statement (Hold onto 3 years after you sell your investment.)
What to keep for 7 years
- Records of Satisfied Loans
What to hold while active
- Contracts
- Insurance Documents
- Stock Certificates
- Property Records
- Stock Records
- Records of Pensions and Retirement Plans
- Property Tax Records Disputed Bills (Keep the bill until the dispute is resolved)
- Home Improvement Records (Hold for at least 3 years after the due date for the tax return that includes the income or loss on the asset when it’s sold)
Keep Forever
- Marriage Licenses
- Birth Certificates
- Wills
- Adoption Papers
- Death Certificates
- Records of Paid Mortgages
*These documents should be kept in a very safe place, like a safety deposit box.

Former Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachmann says that Minnesota Democrats create inflated budgets so they can launder the extra money as grants to their friend’s NGOs
“Here’s the dirty secret that people don’t understand about Minnesota. Progressive lawmakers have been inflating Minnesota’s budget so they can create grants to fund nonprofits. That ultimately are for their friends, for their supporters, for their constituent groups.
So our state budget is a pass-through entity. It’s a financial funnel that goes from federal money, state money, to local money, but it goes through nonprofits.
So friends of the progressives in Minnesota, who for decades have run this state, they create a nonprofit, they register with the Minnesota Secretary of State, And then all of a sudden they can receive funding. A lot of these jobs are no work jobs.
So we are now not just fraud, but we’re an intentional scam that’s been going on for decades and decades in Minnesota.”

Just The News: “Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell revealed Sunday night that federal prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation involving his actions.
In a recorded statement released on the Federal Reserve’s official X account, Powell said the Justice Department delivered grand jury subpoenas to the Fed late last week, signaling the possibility of criminal charges tied to his testimony before the Senate Banking Committee last June.
Powell said the inquiry centers in part on remarks he made about a long-running effort to renovate historic Federal Reserve buildings. He suggested, however, that the investigation should be viewed against the backdrop of escalating political tensions between the central bank and the White House.
According to Powell, the probe follows repeated criticism from President Donald Trump over the Fed’s interest rate decisions. “I have deep respect for the rule of law and for accountability in our democracy,” Powell said. “No one, certainly not the chair of the Federal Reserve, is above the law, but this unprecedented action should be seen in the broader context of the administration’s threats and ongoing pressure,” Powell also said.
Powell also said that “public service sometimes requires standing firm in the face of threats.” He added that he will “continue to do the job” the Senate confirmed him to do with “integrity and a commitment to serving the American people.”

EXCERPT: “Assaults against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are up 1,300%, vehicular attacks are up 3,200% and death threats are up 8,000%, the Department of Homeland Security said after a U.S. citizen was shot and killed during an alleged vehicular attack in Minneapolis this week.
Federal authorities argue the shooting was justified and in self-defense. Local and state officials say otherwise.
One day after the Minneapolis shooting, two Venezuelan nationals were shot by a Border Patrol agent after they attempted to run him over with their vehicle in Portland, Ore., the Department of Homeland Security said. DHS also describes the shooting as self-defense and justified.
The two Venezuelans and alleged Tren de Aragua members “weaponized their vehicle against Border Patrol in Portland. The agent took immediate action to defend himself and others, shooting them,” DHS said.
After the shooting in Portland, the Venezuelans fled the scene, DHS said. They reportedly drove nearly five miles to an apartment complex where they called emergency medical services and were transported to separate hospitals, DHS said…..”
“…..Enforcement actions continue as attacks against ICE officers have increased by unprecedented numbers in less than one year. By November, assaults against ICE officers had increased by 1,000% and death threats by 8,000%, The Center Square reported.
ICE and Border Patrol officers also experienced an historic surge of vehicular attacks. By November, there had been 71 reported vehicular attacks against U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, including Border Patrol, compared to 45 vehicular attacks during the same period in 2024, a 58% increase, The Center Square reported.
Over the same time frame, 28 vehicular attacks were reported against ICE officers compared to two attacks in 2024, a 1,300% increase.
That percentage has since increased nearly three-fold to 3,200% as of last week, DHS said…..”

Just The News: “A federal judge in Washington state on Friday halted the Trump administration from implementing major provisions of an executive order aimed at altering how states run federal elections, concluding the president overstepped his authority.
U.S. District Judge John Chun, appointed by former President Biden, ruled that key sections of Executive Order 14248 could not be applied to Washington or Oregon, finding they conflicted with the Constitution’s separation of powers.
The order requires that applicants provide proof of citizenship to register to vote and that mail ballots be received by Election Day.
In his decision, Chun said the order attempted to impose requirements beyond the scope of presidential authority, which is limited when it comes to state administration of elections.”

I agree with laws like this – this secrecy should NOT be allowed – period!!! Just ask anyone who has been sexually abused!
EXCERPT: “(The Center Square) – A new Arizona bill seeks to force priests and pastors to break their seal of confession if they learn about a case of child abuse. State House Minority Whip Stacey Travers, D-Gilbert, pre-filed House Bill 2039 last month. The new legislative session starts Monday.
Under the legislation, priests and pastors would be forced to report child abuse if they have a reasonable suspicion “to believe that the abuse is ongoing, will continue or may be a threat to other minors.” HB 2039 would also require priests or pastors to testify about confessions in court about child abuse cases.
If clergy fails to report an incident of child abuse heard in confession, they could be charged with a Class 1 misdemeanor, which could land them in jail for up to six months. Priests and pastors could also be charged with a Class 6 felony if they failed to report a reportable offense. If convicted, they could face up to two years in prison.
Travers told The Center Square she introduced this bill to “create some guardrails and protections for children that had been associated with any clergy.”
“There needs to be something to protect children – if you know who the abuser is and you understand there to be multiple instances of that abuse,” she said. “In my mind, the welfare of the child should always take precedence.”
According to a current Arizona law, priests and pastors are mandatory reporters of child abuse if they learn about it outside of the confessional setting…..”

EXCERPT: “While speaking at the Value Voters Summit this past weekend, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) declared that the “spiritual warfare” the west is engaged in “IS about Islam”. Once again, Bachmann demonstrates that she is far ahead of the political curve on an issue that will dominate the world just as Nazism did in the early 1940’s.
Any warts notwithstanding, the west is in need of a leader on par with Winston Churchill during World War II. In order for that to happen, however, it may require that said individual be banished to the political wilderness like Churchill was in the 1930’s. He was ostracized, mocked, and derided as an alarmist for warning of the Nazis. Churchill saw a climate of world domination and tyranny on the horizon and was banished to the political wilderness.
When reality slammed into the paradigms of the ‘climate’ deniers, Churchill’s stock rose. If anyone qualified as the 20th Century’s Paul Revere, it was he. As was the case with Revere, the call was answered when even the deniers had to admit the threat was imminent. The Nazi-deniers ended up in history’s dustbin of failed political leaders.
In 2012, Bachmann attempted to do what Churchill did in the 1930’s. She sounded alarm bells for her political colleagues to hear when she sent five separate letters to five separate Inspectors General demanding answers about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of the U.S. Government. She was ostracized, mocked, and derided as an alarmist for warning of the Islamic threat. In fact, more members of her own party sided against her than who sided with her. “A Government of Laws, Not Administrators: With Humphrey’s Executor now on the chopping block, it is time to return Executive Authority where the Constitution actually places it: the President.”
Paul Ingrassia, Jan 12, 2026
EXCERPT: “Politics, in its classical, original definition, is the study of the city-state. Aristotle coronated politics as the architectonic science based on what social arrangements are most conducive to the flourishing of human life. This was the view of politics advanced in classical antiquity, a view shared by Plato and Aristotle – and with some adjustments extending all the way through America’s founding.
In the Declaration of Independence, that quintessential statement of American political theory, Thomas Jefferson wrote that government was instituted among men to secure the rights endowed by God, that among those inalienable rights were “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Jefferson’s reframing of the classical view of politics was a decision born out of practicality: the founding generation had embarked on an unprecedented mission to design, from scratch, not just any form of government, but one that had not been in use (at least well) since ancient times: republican governance.
A modern republic was the archetypical mixed regime, balancing elements of “aristocracy” and “democracy” to create a regime that secured the rights of man while maximizing human freedom and civic virtue, both essential prerequisites for good government. These goals were further elaborated in the Constitutional structure of government.
A legislative branch comprising a bicameral Congress, with both a House of Representatives and a Senate, balanced the interests of small and large states alike. This allowed it to be at one and the same time representative of the people’s interests, while never surrendering to the interests of the majority over the minority, an ever-present danger with direct democracies.
The executive branch vested powers in a chief executive or president, a singular individual tasked with enforcing the laws enacted by the legislature. Hamilton, in the Federalist, emphasized repeatedly the president’s energy: in order for an executive branch to be fully independent, and operate as a truly co-equal branch of government, it had to be equipped with the alacrity and vigor to enforce laws by deploying armies or law enforcement agents with all deliberate speed.
The judiciary, or third branch of government, arbitrated disputes which arose between the other two branches. Over time, judicial power expanded as the Supreme Court rendered decision after decision that assumed powers which allowed it to uphold or strike down laws for their constitutionality, a process known as judicial review.
While the Founders’ constitutional framework, which was at one and the same time classical and modern, persisted relatively intact for much of the first century of the Republic, at some point in the decades following the Civil War our government transformed and deviated, first incrementally and then quite dramatically, from its original formulation.
The greatest transformation, which came about during the Progressive Era, was the advent of administrative governance. The rise of the administrative state was instantiated in laws such as the Pendleton Act, and later on, legitimated through Supreme Court decisions. These authorities drastically augmented the size of the original bureaucracy laid down by the Founding Fathers at the Constitutional Convention, which originally encompassed just a handful of department heads administered to help the President carry out his constitutional duties.
Over time, the modest cabinet of the founding era evolved into a massive bureaucracy, composed of millions of unelected civil servants who were tasked with carrying out laws delegated to them by Congress in what was supposed to be a nonpartisan fashion. The early designers believed that by keeping civil servants insulated from the partisan forces of presidential politics, it would be conducive to better governance in the end.
This sea change in American governance came about not through the passage of amendments, as the express text of the Constitution requires, but through congressional delegation and judicial activism, changes that were further catalyzed by global events such as the Great Depression, New Deal, World War II, and Great Society reforms. Thus, the administrative state – and its numerous agencies – came about extra-constitutionally, or outside the textual procedures explicitly delineated by the Constitution for transforming the ways of American governance……”

“Court: Washington State Can’t Force Christian Mission To Hire Non-Christians — A panel of the 9th Circuit unanimously rejected Washington’s attempt to force a religious ministry to hire employees whose beliefs contradict those of the ministry.”
The Federalist, By: Lathan Watts, January 12, 2026
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Most legal experts, court watchers, and even casual observers would not likely characterize the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit as a bastion of conservative jurisprudence. But, in a recent decision, a panel of that court unanimously rejected the state of Washington’s attempt to force a religious ministry to hire employees whose beliefs contradict those of the ministry.
The right of religious organizations to hire only employees who are aligned with and live out their religious beliefs is a foundational tenet of our Constitution’s protection of religious liberty. The free exercise of religion by individuals, churches, and other faith-based ministries is essential to our founders’ vision of ordered liberty and the bedrock upon which our free civil society rests.
Yakima Union Gospel Mission has served its community for nearly a century. The mission has provided shelter for thousands of people, distributed hundreds of thousands of meals, and assisted countless homeless individuals through its outreach services. This service embodies the vision of America’s founders regarding the role of religion in our nation. When people of faith are free to live it out in their communities, everyone benefits — the homeless are sheltered, the hungry are fed, and the suffering are cared for by their neighbors, who view them as fellow image bearers of God.
Alliance Defending Freedom represented the mission in a lawsuit against Washington state officials who enforce the Washington Law Against Discrimination, which requires the mission to hire individuals who do not agree with or live out its religious beliefs. The state Supreme Court gutted the WLAD’s religious employer exemption, thereby affecting all religious organizations in Washington state, including Yakima Union Gospel Mission.
The mission exists because of its Christian calling; it strives to serve the community with the love of Christ, to share the Gospel with everyone it encounters, and to be a haven of like-minded believers where discipleship and fellowship can flourish. The mission believes in the dignity of all people and wants to provide opportunities for the underserved homeless and needy population in Yakima. One of the many services the organization provides is the New Life Recovery Program. The year-long program helps people find the root cause of their issues and points them to lasting solutions based on a solid biblical foundation.
The mission’s employees are its hands, feet, and mouthpiece, so all must agree with and participate in its Christian calling. The mission needs to be able to hire people who believe and adhere to the Bible, as their role is to serve others with the love of Christ, to spread the Gospel, and to disciple one another.
While the mission wants everyone it interacts with to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Washington state officials were forcing it to hire those who disagree with its religious teaching about marriage and sexuality. But this is a Christian ministry and thus should be free to hire people who share and live out these same Christian beliefs. If the mission cannot ensure all its employees agree with and live out its beliefs, its Christian message and very purpose would be contradicted and undermined.
In a sane world, it should go without saying that religious organizations should be able to hire people who not only agree with the work they do but also share the beliefs that motivate them to do it. But we are dealing with the state of Washington, so it took litigation in federal court to say so.
The First Amendment protects the mission’s right to profess its faith and provide help to the needy. Under a proper reading of the First Amendment, the government does not get to decide who is qualified to share the mission’s Christian message, spread the Gospel, or disciple those whom the mission serves. As the 9th Circuit wrote in its opinion, “If a religious organization’s hiring of co-religionists for non-ministerial positions rests on its sincerely held religious beliefs, then the church autonomy doctrine forbids government interference with that hiring decision.” Amen and amen.
Time will tell if this decision indicates a seismic shift in the 9th Circuit or just a moment of clarity, but where I grew up, there is a colloquialism that says, “Never look a gift horse in the mouth.” As for the state of Washington’s officials seeking to undermine the religious liberty of a ministry dedicated to alleviating suffering, another genteel phrase comes to mind: “Bless their hearts.”

Nice summation in today’s Coffee & Covid newsletter about the referral of Powell to DOJ:
“It only took about ten seconds of googling to locate Representative Anna Paulina Luna’s (R-Fl) criminal referral to the DOJ. She even posted a press release about it last July, and the title would have been extremely helpful to any reporter trying to find answers: “Rep. Anna Paulina Luna Refers Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell for Criminal Investigation Over False Testimony.”
And there it was. Unlike the Times’ useless article, Luna’s July 2025 press release explained: (1) when Powell lied to Congress; (2) exactly what he said that wasn’t true; (3) which documents proved the Fed Chair lied under oath; and (4) which specific laws he allegedly broke, right down to the statute number (to wit: perjury and making false statements to federal officials).
The dustup centers on the Federal Reserve’s hyper-luxury $2.5 billion renovation of its headquarters building. According to Rep. Luna, the project includes swanky features like a VIP dining room, private elevators, a yoga retreat, premium marble, Disneyesque water features, and a rooftop arboretum where stressed fed governors can blow off steam by hunting kidnapped taxpayers.
During his sworn Congressional testimony, Powell denied that any of those features were included in the “final plans.” But Ms. Luna found the final plans and, contrary to Powell’s claims, dang it, the sumptuous features were right there. Thus: five Pinocchios.”
And…the ultimate conclusion is a nice touch:
“But if the DOJ develops evidence that Powell did lie, it would give Trump “cause” to legally fire him. Just saying.”

I’m heading out shortly to visit Mom at the hospital. It has officially been determined that she cannot go back to her apartment now or in the future, altho she still thinks she’s going home and is going to make divinity since the sun is shining. SMH – She will be at the hospital until tomorrow, then at the rehab center in Madison for 2-3 weeks, however long it takes to get her transferred down near my Sis and her family. There is an assisted living facility a couple of blocks from her grandson & his family – she will be in 7th heaven with his 3 kids nearby! BBL….sunny day and 53 so far!

Sliding on down…..made a run to WM on my way back. Mom’s head is working much better today – tomorrow is her last COVID treatment. She is insistent that she will go back to her apartment and is pushing the nurses to help her walk at least 3 times a day. After we left, she had them get her compression socks for her and the male nurse (we discussed this with him when we left) took her walking. She called both of us to tell us that specifically – LOL. She is gungho about the physical therapy but again, only because she thinks that will allow her to go home.
She has so little strength any more, I can easily see her trying to move a frying pan from the stove and dropping it, burning herself or starting a fire. My Sis and niece are bound and determined not to let her go back. I’m torn, tbh. She is an adult and is NOT senile so it seems to me it should be her decision. No, I don’t want something terrible to happen to her but she has the right to live her life as she chooses and the fact is, she’s gonna die sometime – we all are. She has always been extremely independent – it runs in our blood! I wouldn’t want someone telling me I have to leave my home if I’m still mentally competent and believe I can do it. And she watched as her Mom withered away in a nursing home…..IDK. We’ll see what happens…..

“Effective immediately, any Country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a Tariff of 25% on any and all business being done with the United States of America,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
The new tariff comes after the president said Sunday that the U.S. military is considering “strong options” on Iran and that he is being updated hourly on the protests that have engulfed the Middle Eastern country.
Protests against Iran’s leadership have continued for weeks, resulting in approximately 538 people dying and 10,600 others being detained, according to the U.S.-based Human Right Activists News Agency. The exact numbers are difficult to determine because the internet and phone lines in Iran are cut off.”

“AI-generated police report mistakenly claims officer was transformed into a frog”
Not The Bee, Harriet Rigby, Jan 11, 2026
“Utah’s Heber City Police Department has been testing out artificial intelligence software to save the department time on writing police reports.
The new technology can save an officer 6-8 hours of work spent transcribing body camera footage and writing reports, but the downside is that it’s not always accurate, as in the case of a recent report that claimed a police officer had been magically transformed into a frog.
It turns out that the bodycam footage was picking up the movie “The Princess and the Frog” playing in the background.
I can see the confusion. Prince Naveen’s costume is somewhat similar to a police uniform, and he did magically transform into a frog. But, it’s a pretty major glitch if the AI program can’t tell the difference between a cartoon prince and a real police officer, frog or not.
Heber City Police Sgt. Rick Keel told FOX 13 News,
Yeah, I’d say proofreading is pretty important, especially in the case of official police reports! Just goes to show you can’t believe anything you read on the internet, even if the source looks official.
Try as we might, the science of turning humans into frogs hasn’t yet caught up to the magic of Disney.”

“PORTLAND Comms from Scavino & DJT”
Stormy Patriot Joe, Jan 12, 2026
“Dan Scavino starts the Comms on 1/1/26. He highlights “34 years” as a signal to Q 34. He has a “typo” that he doesn’t fix. Dan posts Don Jr’s Bday as 1/31 when it’s 12/31. Dan leaves out the “2.” DJT further connects this to Q 22 on 1/4/26.
On 1/6/26 Absolute posts DJT speaking on AF1 on 1/4/26. Paul picks up on the fact that DJT calls out that George HW Bush used the Insurrection Act “22 Times.” When George HW Bush actually used “2 Times.” So, there’s the “Missing 2” from Dan and also DJT is hitting Q 22 directly by saying George HW Bush used it “22 Times.” Very important to note, DJT starts off by saying “PORTLAND.”
The Minnesota “Event” happens on 1/7/26 at the corner of “34th Street & PORTLAND Ave.” So, between Dan on 1/1/26 & DJT om 1/4/26 we got comms on:
PORTLAND
Q 34
Q 22
We’ll pull out the National Guard, but we’ll be right back after crimes.
On Jan 8th, the next “event” happens. Guess where???? PORTLAND, yup. Oh, it gets better though. This time instead of a gay paid agitator, t’s Tren de Aragua gang members from Venezuela. Ghost Army working overtime on these scripts.
To Recap:
Dan on 1/1/26
DJT on AF1 on 1/4/26
Give us the Comms for the two “events” on 1/7 & 1/8
Here is a video walkthrough: (@link below)
I’ve used this formula the past eight years and it serves me very well.
1. Are there things about these narratives that are “odd”
(The shooting, gay, activists, gang members, dinosaurs in the background, what the wife says, etc.) ✅
2. Are there White Hat Comms prior, during and after from people like DJT, Scavino, Flynn? (Watch shows from 150-154 for many many more) ✅✅
3. Maybe most importantly, Is MAGA the benefit of these “events”? Easy answer, very much so. We have ICE and The Guard pouring into these cities. Media and the Left look terrible. ✅✅✅

💀 Human Heads Displayed on Ecuador Beach
Fishermen in Ecuador displayed human heads on a beach as a warning to gangs to stay away.
It’s medieval. It’s horrifying. And it’s a reminder that when governments collapse, communities create their own law enforcement.
Welcome to the 14th century… with smartphones…

🐕 “No Ice Is Safe Ice”
A golden retriever named Goose fell through a frozen pond in Massachusetts — and was rescued within two minutes by ice-rescue firefighters.
Goose survived, went home, and warmed up by the fireplace. Best story of the day 🧡

🧂 Salt Pearls of the Dead Sea
The Dead Sea has entire beaches made of round white salt pearls.
They look like snow.
They feel like broken glass.
Beautiful. Painful. Very on-brand for Earth…

🧲 The Sky Is Still Ringing
Two CMEs hit Earth back-to-back — a “Cannibal CME” — triggering G2 geomagnetic storms and spectacular auroras over Scandinavia.
Norway looked like something out of a fantasy novel.
More solar storms are still possible this week.

🛰️ Iran Just Shut Down Starlink
For the first time ever, Iran successfully blocked Starlink.
That means a government just proved it can:
• jam satellite internet
• isolate its population
• cut off outside information
If you think this won’t spread to other countries… think again…
