Healthy Habits to Adopt in the New Year

I found this article on thefactsite.com that details some healthy habits to adopt this year.

From thefactsite.com:

Our habits reveal what kind of person we are. That’s why creating healthy habits and breaking bad ones is important, especially when it comes to things like succeeding or feeling happier. Regardless of your reason, in this article, you’ll discover the healthy habits that are worth trying, ranging from minimizing screen time to learning something new every day. With that said, keep on reading, and let’s make this year worthwhile!

Avoid doom-scrolling.

Too much screen time has been a problem these days. And one culprit of it is scrolling too much on social media. It can be addicting to the point you find yourself consuming content for hours on social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. This bad habit can make you waste a lot of time and prevent you from achieving the goals you’ve set or keeping your New Year’s resolutions. To avoid mindlessly scrolling, consider turning off your notifications, setting time limits for app usage, and deleting apps that always distract you.

Eat for nutrition, not just for pleasure.

It’s kind of annoying that healthy foods typically taste bad while unhealthy ones make your mouth water. However, it doesn’t always have to be this way, as there are some ways to make healthier foods taste yummy! Some examples would be roasting your veggies or adding herbs and spices to it. It’s also worth noting that eating healthy doesn’t necessarily mean you only eat fruits and vegetables. You can still take a bite of that donut or drink those sugary drinks. Just remember to consume them in moderation!

Exercise consistently.

Besides eating healthier, exercising is one of the things that’s always in the conversation if health is the topic. After all, working out improves your physical and mental health without making your wallet cry. But I want you to know that not everyone who works out becomes healthy. Why so? Well, it’s due to a lack of consistency.  So, don’t think that one day or even a month of exercising is enough to keep you in shape for the rest of your life. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way (although we wish it did)!

Wake up earlier than usual.

Research at the University of Westminster, UK, discovered that people who wake up earlier have higher cortisol levels, which is associated with energy and productivity. That explains why people generally feel more energized and motivated to accomplish their daily tasks when they wake up early rather than late. It’s worth reminding, though, that for this to be a healthy habit, you need to get to bed early enough; going to bed late and waking up early is terrible for you!

Socialize more.

While spending time with your own thoughts can be a good thing, too much of it can be a buzzkill for your mental health. That’s why you also have to interact with others since it prevents loneliness, increases happiness, and even improves your memory. So, get yourself out there, have some chit-chats, and make new friends! But just like fact number two, remember that balance is key since both socializing and spending time alone have their fair share of pros and cons.

Take up journaling.

Whenever you write down your thoughts and feelings, it helps you process your emotions, reduce stress, and reflect on yourself. In other words, journaling is essential for your mental well-being! But other than improving your mental health, journaling also serves as a documentary of your life. Come to think of it, wouldn’t it be nice to flick back through old journals, and reflect on how far you’ve come along?

Practice mindfulness.

Mindfulness meditation is about meditating while being in the moment, accepting whatever thoughts come into your mind without judgment. As a result, you gain more focus, reduce stress levels, and become less emotionally reactive. Keep in mind, though, that mindfulness doesn’t just revolve around meditation. It can also be practiced with other activities, like yoga, tai chi, and qigong.

Implement a skincare routine.

According to dermatologists, a proper skincare routine doesn’t have to be complicated. All you really need are three things: cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. They say anything other than the three mentioned are just optional. Looking after your skin is a great habit to adopt, since, just like exercising, skincare not only benefits your physical but also your mental well-being.

This is because caring for your skin activates happy hormones like dopamine and serotonin and boosts self-confidence, making you look good and feel good!

Get organized.

Becoming an organized person has many mental health benefits. It eliminates distractions and stress in your surroundings, making you feel relaxed or giving you peace of mind. As the saying goes, “A cluttered desk is a cluttered mind.” In addition, when you plan and organize what you eat daily, you also become physically healthier. Now, I know some claim being messy can boost your creativity; even Albert Einstein implied that an empty desk equates to an empty mind. But hey, if disorganization deteriorates your life, then copying them might not be a great idea!

Become a lifelong learner.

There’s a saying that the day you stop learning is the day you stop growing. This alone is enough to make us realize how important lifelong learning is. But to be more specific, learning consistently can provide you with many benefits. For example, it can keep your brain healthy, increase self-esteem, and make life a little more interesting! So, starting from now on, become the best and healthiest version of yourself by reading a book, learning a new skill, or picking up a new hobby!

Habits can make you or break you. And while you can’t do anything about the unhealthy habits you’ve had in the past, like always using your phone and waking up late, I’m here to tell you it’s never too late to change! Let this be a sign to replace them with healthy ones today. Start cleaning your place, never let a day pass without learning something new, and become a skincare fanatic. Of course, changing your habits is easier said than done. But please don’t use this as an excuse not to start improving your life!

    1. Morning, Pat! 30 here and clear skies; Wheezer was waiting.

Just The News: “In Pennsylvania, state officials, including the governor, much of his administration and the legislature, receive automatic annual cost-of-living adjustments to their salaries.

This year, it will bump Gov. Josh Shapiro up to the highest paid governor in the nation, overtaking New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The new salary increase of 3.3% comes in at $253,870 according to the state’s Office of the Budget. The 3.3% applies to leaders across state departments and boards like the Liquor Control Board and Public Utility Commission.

Members of the legislature saw their salaries rise to $113,000 for rank-and-file members. The median household income for their constituents is about $76,000 according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The full-time legislature met less than 90 days this year, with the Senate clocking fewer sessions than the House. The state budget they oversee was 135 days late.

Shapiro’s second-in command, Lt. Gov. Austin Davis, major agency leaders, and the state’s row officers including Attorney General Dave Sunday, Treasurer Stacy Garrity, and Auditor General Tim DeFoor will all be making more than $200,000 in 2026.

For perspective, the president of the United States earns $400,000 annually. The lowest-paid governor according to Business Insider, Maine’s Janet Mills, earns $70,000.”

    What does PDJT know?…
I’m sure it was a hit.

WOW: Trump Shares Video Questioning if Tim Walz Ordered the Assassination of Minnesota Lawmaker Melissa Hortman to Cover Up Somali Fraud Scheme

Vance Boelter, a 57-year-old man who was later arrested for the shootings and indicted on six federal charges, including stalking and murder.

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Minnesota, Boelter conducted “extensive research and planning” before embarking on a “murderous rampage targeting Minnesota’s elected officials and their families.”

It was soon revealed that Boelter was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board by Walz, and in his confession, he claimed he was ordered to do the assassinations by the governor himself.

The post Trump shared, originally from X user @LightOnLiberty, asks, “Was Minnesota State Rep Melissa Hortman murdered because she voted against and was exposing a multi-billion dollar money laundering fraud going to illegal immigrants in Minnesota?!”

  4. This isn’t even close to sufficient!!! The parent(s) should be notified within an hour of something like this happening to their child at school!!!!😲😖😟😦

Just The News: “Wisconsin schools must now inform the parents by the end of the day if they receive a credible report that their child was the victim or target of sexual misconduct by a member of school staff. Bill sponsors said that, since the notification wasn’t already required, it was important to spell out the requirement in state law.

Gov. Tony Evers signed the bill into law earlier this month. The law applies to private, public and charter schools.

“Doing everything we can to keep our kids safe at school, at home, and in our communities is a top priority for me, as well as our schools and education professionals, who are frontlines of doing what’s best for our kids every day,” Evers said after signing the bill. “This bill will strengthen transparency by making sure parents and family members are notified if any misconduct at school affects their kids’ safety or well-being and bolster accountability by ensuring they know what their rights are and what their kids’ rights are.”

Rep. Benjamin Franklin, R-De Pere, cited a U.S. Department of Education estimate that one in 10 children will experience some form of sexual misconduct by school employees during their schooling. The bill applies to credible threats of sexual misconduct by a staff member, if someone working at the school is convicted of a serious child sex offense or if a sex offender has intentionally captured a representation of a minor pupil without the parent or guardian’s written consent.

The school’s notification can be either in person, via phone or via voicemail and must be completed before the end of the day unless the report is received after normal business hours, in which case the notification must come by noon the following day.

Franklin noted that quick notification to parents allows them the chance to file a timely Title IX complaint. The Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association testified in support of the bill.”

  5. “Made in Venezuela: Iranian Drones — Tehran’s “Axis of Resistance” expansion strategy just took a hit”

    Dr. Robert W. Malone, Jan 05, 2026

These suicide or kamikaze drones are used for drone swarms and were developed and manufactured in Iran. The Russian army in Ukraine uses these drones and has ordered 2,400 of them. The Houthis in Yemen also use these drones. *For more information, see the reference section.

EXCERPT: “Made in Venezuela: Iranian Drones

Thank you, Mr. President. Few seem aware of the interwoven strategic geopolitical relationships at play behind the headlines coming from both Iran and Venezuela. However, you can rest assured that neither Secretary of State Rubio, nor POTUS Donald Trump is so naive. The recent action against Nicolás Maduro was billed as taking aggressive steps against a chronic sponsor of narcoterrorism, but the issues are much deeper. At this very moment, a politically diverse range of social media influencers are busy criticizing this intervention. Still, none seem to be aware of or accounting for these deeper geopolitical issues.

This is not tiddlywinks, folks. This involves serious national security and geopolitical alliance issues. Yes, Virginia, there are clear ties between Iran and Venezuela, as there are between China and Venezuela. This is not some hyped up propaganda about chemical warfare or weapons of mass destruction, like what was used to justify the Iraq war. What we have here is clear, present, multidimensional danger.

It is helpful to dissect this strategically, because most mainstream reporting examines it only through the lens of sanctions or “rogue states cooperating,” while missing the deeper reality of the relationship. This isn’t just geopolitics; it’s the new face of modular, sanctions-resistant warfare.

Let’s focus on one example to illustrate the point. Over the past several years, there has been substantial evidence that Iran has indeed helped Venezuela establish local drone manufacturing capacity, particularly of Iranian-designed UAVs like the Mohajer and Shahed families. The Core of the Iran–Venezuela Drone Collaboration

Iran and Venezuela have been under heavy U.S. sanctions for years. Both nations share a strategy of technological autarkyTechnological autarky is the policy goal of making a country self-sufficient in critical technologies, so it does not rely on foreign nations for the development, production, or maintenance of essential tech systems. Both countries are considered rogue and, over the years, have faced numerous economic embargoes.

Iran’s drone program is one of its most successful export-ready industries. Drones became Iran’s key asymmetric deterrent capability in the 2010s and 2020s, primarily through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Around 2022, reports emerged that Venezuela had opened facilities believed to be assembling Iranian Shahed drones, possibly under local rebranding such as the “ANSU-200” or “Mohajer-6 variant.” The collaboration seems focused in the Aragua state near the CAVIM (Compañía Anónima Venezolana de Industrias Militares) complex. Engineers from Iran reportedly supplied designs, parts, and training for Venezuelan technicians.

This fits into Tehran’s expansion of its “Axis of Resistance” strategy.

Tehran’s “Axis of Resistance” is best understood as an Iranian-led proxy network created to destabilize the Middle East and elsewhere while providing Iran with plausible deniability. Instead of directly confronting the United States or Israel, Iran funds, supplies, and trains militant groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and aligned militias in Iraq and Syria to carry out asymmetric warfare, threaten civilians, and disrupt global trade routes.

This approach allows Tehran to expand its regional influence, encircle Israel, pressure U.S. allies, and weaken sovereign governments, all while avoiding the risks of open conflict. In reality, the “Axis” functions less as a defensive alliance and more as a state-sponsored terror network that sustains conflict and erodes regional stability.

This is why Iran has established drone manufacturing hubs in friendly states to export influence. And as for Caracas, drones have offered internal security leverage and a psychological counterweight to the United States and Colombia.

This is not pure outsourcing like a corporation would do; it’s a strategic joint technological transfer. Iran effectively externalized parts of its drone production: components, training, or even complete assembly lines to allied nations, including:

    • Venezuela
    • Sudan (previously)
    • Syria
    • Russia (especially via Shahed-136 production)

Venezuela functions as a Latin American manufacturing node that reduces Iran’s logistical and political exposure while creating a regional arms customer base aligned with anti-U.S. movements……”

  8. “With ‘Donroe Doctrine,’ President Trump Cements Legacy As Most Impactful Statesman Of Twenty-First Century — The actions now taken in Venezuela, and the broader paradigm shift they represent, signal why ultimately President Trump will go down as the most consequential man of his age.”

    Paul Ingrassia, Jan 05, 2026

EXCERPT: “Just a few short hours into the second quarter of the twenty-first century, President Trump and his team executed one of the more remarkable foreign policy achievements in living memory: the ouster of Nicolas Maduro, the communist dictator of Venezuela for well over a decade. This feat was significant as it helped crystallize this administration’s overall foreign policy vision, while further indicating that now entering his second year of his second term in office, the President and his administration remain as active as ever.

To date, the President has spent a great deal of his attention on the world arena, which is justified based on how much global strife he inherited from the Biden regime. But his focus thus far has primarily centered on winding down the wars that Biden either started or worsened, which has been occasionally studded by interludes of brief escalation, such as last summer’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. By way of new foreign policy feats, however, the Trump administration has largely sequestered innovative activity to the realms of economics and trade rather than initiating great new military endeavors.

Maduro’s ouster, in that respect, represents a turning point for the administration. The immediate geopolitical effects are obvious: a longstanding dictator, deeply hostile to America’s interests, will be replaced by one that is presumably friendlier to work with. In turn, America will have first dibs over Venezuela’s vast natural resources, which includes the largest oil reserves in the Western Hemisphere, to say nothing of an abundance of gold and iron ore. In reasserting control over Venezuela, it will also block out competitors like China and Russia, which have exploited the Obama and Biden regime’s longstanding, neglectful foreign policies, by staking their claims to socialist and leftist governments to our south.

The Maduro removal will also send a strong signal to our allies in the region, who have been amicable with the Trump government, namely El Salvador, Argentina under Milei, and Bolsonaro’s Brazil, while putting hostile governments – particularly Cuba, Colombia, and Nicaragua – on red alert that they could well be next.

Taking a wider perspective, Maduro’s toppling – which was defined by its speed and surgical precision (thankfully no American soldiers were lost) – adds color to the so-called “Trump doctrine,” which to date has been somewhat nebulous, and certainly less ideologically rigid than the foreign policies of his recent predecessors. We see clearer now what “peace through strength” evidently means in action: it stands as a proud endorsement of American dominance in our corner of the world.

This prudent strategy is less a novelty than a reversion to what America had originally set out to do in the first half of its history. Formalized as the “Monroe doctrine,” American presidents in the century that spanned the Founding Fathers’ generation to roughly World War I had always envisioned spreading the tenets of “manifest destiny” throughout the Western Hemisphere.

These ideals were brought to life in the wars against Mexico and Spain in the second half of the nineteenth century, and industrial feats like the Panama Canal, which boldly asserted American hegemony in the region that put the rest of the world on notice, in the early twentieth. The longstanding conventional wisdom was that America was never to be bullied in its own hemisphere. On the flipside was its commitment to never getting involved in “foreign entanglements” outside its sphere of influence.

Alas, in more recent years, particularly since the end of the Cold War, the inherent dignity in America’s approach to controlling its own hemisphere was saddled with ideological and regulatory burdens from liberals and globalists alike who, in a fit of historical revisionism, dramatically turned the ancient wisdom that governed power politics on its head by insisting strength was bad, and weakness good…..”

  9. EXCERPT: “Minnesota Democratic Gov. Tim Walz announced Monday that he will not seek reelection, citing a large-scale fraud scandals involving billions of dollars in misused federal and state program funds and partisan political backlash. Walz, who also was the 2024 Democratic vice presidential nominee, issued the following statement, obtained by local Minnesota TV station FOX 9. He will hold a news conference at 11 a.m…..”

“…..Which brings me to this: 2026 is an election year. And election years have a way of ramping up the politics at a time when we simply can’t afford more politics. In September, I announced that I would run for a historic third term as Minnesota’s Governor. And I have every confidence that, if I gave it my all, I would succeed in that effort.

“But as I reflected on this moment with my family and my team over the holidays, I came to the conclusion that I can’t give a political campaign my all. Every minute I spend defending my own political interests would be a minute I can’t spend defending the people of Minnesota against the criminals who prey on our generosity and the cynics who prey on our differences.

“So I’ve decided to step out of the race and let others worry about the election while I focus on the work.

“I know this news may come as a surprise. But I’m passing on the race with zero sadness and zero regret. After all, I didn’t run for this job so I could have this job. I ran for this job so I could do this job. Minnesota faces an enormous challenge this year. And I refuse to spend even one minute of 2026 doing anything other than rising to meet the moment. Minnesota has to come first – always.

“That’s what I believe servant leadership demands of me. And as an optimist, I will hold out some hope that my friends on the other side of the aisle will consider what servant leadership demands of them in this moment. We can work together to combat the criminals, rebuild the public’s trust, and make our state stronger. But make no mistake: If Republicans continue down this path of abusing power, smearing entire communities, and running their own fraudulent game at the expense of Minnesotans – we will fight back every step of the way.”

  10. “Brother-sister duo save school bus driver during medical emergency”

Not The Bee, Harriet Rigby, January 4, 2026

Image for article: Brother-sister duo save school bus driver during medical emergency

“Ashland, Ohio, students, Catrina and her brother, Charlie, were riding the school bus when Catrina, sitting near the front of the bus, noticed that something wasn’t right with their driver. When she asked the bus driver if she was ok, the driver shook her head and pointed to her throat. Eight-year-old Catrina pulled the parking brake and ran to the back of the bus to tell the older kids.

Her brother, 14-year-old Charlie, saw the driver wave the radio in the air and realized that his little sister’s warnings were serious. He went to the front of the bus and used the radio to call for help.

    Charlie told WEWS News,

When I realized that something was going on, [I] went up there and grabbed the radio and then called the school because I knew that that was the quickest way to get help.

When asked how he knew to use the radio, Charlie quipped that he’d seen a few Dukes of Hazzard movies.

The adrenaline pumping through him probably made the emergency feel like a movie, and his movie watching paid off in this case, because help soon arrived. Catrina was proud of her and her brother’s response to the emergency, telling reporters,

My brother … in the inside when something’s going wrong, he’s scared but on the outside, he’s like calm and concentrated.

Details on the bus driver’s ailment aren’t known, but the driver has since been released from the hospital and has been recovering at home.

Crestview Local Schools Superintendent, Jim Grubbs, said in a statement,

The actions of these students were truly outstanding. They remained calm, communicated clearly, and helped one another in a situation that could have been much worse. Their families should be incredibly proud.”

    Secretary of War Pete Hegseth
    @SecWar
Six weeks ago, Senator Mark Kelly — and five other members of Congress — released a reckless and seditious video that was clearly intended to undermine good order and military discipline. As a retired Navy Captain who is still receiving a military pension, Captain Kelly knows he is still accountable to military justice. And the Department of War — and the American people — expect justice.

Therefore, in response to Senator Mark Kelly’s seditious statements — and his pattern of reckless misconduct — the Department of War is taking administrative action against Captain Mark E. Kelly, USN (Ret). The department has initiated retirement grade determination proceedings under 10 U.S.C. § 1370(f), with reduction in his retired grade resulting in a corresponding reduction in retired pay.

To ensure this action, the Secretary of War has also issued a formal Letter of Censure, which outlines the totality of Captain (for now) Kelly’s reckless misconduct. This Censure is a necessary process step, and will be placed in Captain Kelly’s official and permanent military personnel file.

Captain Kelly has been provided notice of the basis for this action and has thirty days to submit a response. The retirement grade determination process directed by Secretary Hegseth will be completed within forty five days.

Captain Kelly’s status as a sitting United States Senator does not exempt him from accountability, and further violations could result in further action.

These actions are based on Captain Kelly’s public statements from June through December 2025 in which he characterized lawful military operations as illegal and counseled members of the Armed Forces to refuse lawful orders. This conduct was seditious in nature and violated Articles 133 and 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, to which Captain Kelly remains subject as a retired officer receiving pay.

  18. “Revised HHS Childhood Vax Schedule Announced: Changes stem from reviewing practices in other nations, including consulting experts in Denmark, Germany, and Japan.”

    Dr. Robert W. Malone, Jan 05, 2026

    EXCERPT:

    Overview

After a scientific review of the underlying science, comparing the U.S. child and adolescent immunization schedule with those of peer, developed nations, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Acting Director Jim O’Neill has now further updated the U.S. childhood immunization schedule. The changes stem from reviewing practices in other nations, including consulting experts in Denmark, Germany, and Japan.

The CDC will, moving forward, stop broadly recommending vaccines against influenza, rotavirus, respiratory syncytial virus, hepatitis A, and meningococcal disease. The CDC in 2025 already narrowed recommendations for hepatitis B and COVID-19 vaccination, based on guidance from ACIP advisers selected by HHS Secretary Kennedy.

The CDC will continue to recommend that all children are immunized against 10 diseases for which there is international consensus, as well as varicella (chickenpox). For other diseases, the CDC will recommend immunization for high-risk groups and populations, or through shared clinical decision making when it is not possible for public health authorities to clearly define who will benefit from an immunization. The updated schedule is in contrast to the CDC child and adolescent schedule at the end of 2024, which recommended 17 immunizations for all children.

The Danish childhood vaccination schedule that has influenced this new US schedule is far simpler, slower, and gentler than the U.S. CDC schedule. Denmark begins immunization at three months of age, giving only about a dozen total injections by adolescence, focused on serious diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus, polio, Hib, measles, and meningitis.

The U.S. begins vaccination the day a child is born, in some cases with a hepatitis B shot, and continues frequently through infancy, totaling around sixty doses by the end of adolescence. The Danish program avoids vaccines for mild illnesses like chickenpox, rotavirus, and hepatitis A, and it does not recommend annual flu or early COVID inoculations for healthy children. It therefore introduces far fewer antigens, adjuvants, and chemical additives, giving the immune system more time to mature between doses.

The U.S. system, by contrast, compresses numerous injections into the first year of life, creating heavy antigen and aluminum exposure during a critical developmental window. Denmark’s approach reflects a minimalist “target the serious diseases” philosophy built on transparency and trust, while the U.S. program embodies a maximalist “vaccinate for everything” model driven by a zero‑risk culture, liability avoidance, institutional inertia, and a cult-like belief that all vaccine products are “safe and effective” and therefore above questioning. Both countries maintain high vaccine coverage, but Denmark achieves comparable disease control with a fraction of the biochemical and immunological load imposed on young children in the United States.

The updated CDC childhood immunization schedule:

    1. Recommends all vaccines for which there is consensus among peer nations.

    2. Allows for more flexibility and choice, with less coercion, by reassigning non-consensus vaccines to certain high-risk groups or populations and shared clinical decision-making.

    3. Ensures that all the diseases covered by the previous immunization schedule will still be available to anyone who wants them through Affordable Care Act insurance plans and federal insurance programs, including Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Vaccines for Children program. Families will not have to purchase them out of pocket. Among peer nations, the U.S. will continue to offer the most childhood vaccines for free to those who wants them.

    4. Is accompanied by a strengthening of vaccine research through HHS’ commitment to double-blind placebo controlled randomized trials as well as more observational studies to evaluate long-term effects of individual vaccines and the vaccine schedule.

On January 5, 2026, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) accused Hilton Hotels of canceling reservations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in the Minneapolis area after officers attempted to book rooms using official government emails and rates. DHS claimed the hotel launched a “coordinated campaign” to refuse service, citing emails from Hilton staff stating they were not allowing ICE or immigration agents to stay at their property. The department posted screenshots of communications, including one from the Hampton Inn Lakeville, a Hilton-branded hotel, which noted an influx of government reservations linked to DHS and confirmed the denial of bookings. Hilton and DHS did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and shares of the hotel chain fell 1.5% in afternoon trading

    1. City of Vancouver, WA allows drug encampments on public land.
    2. BNSF Railroad places boulders outside their buildings to dissuade drug encampments.
    3. Boulders are working, with KATU interviewing homeless woman in a tent who verifies their effectiveness.
    4. City demands BNSF remove boulders but doesn’t remove drug camps
    5. BNSF doubles down and increases amount of boulders.
    6. City of Vancouver sues BNSF, saying they must remove boulders and allow drug encampments.

Not even 1980’s dystopian movies could have fully predicted the backwards stupidity by some local governments.

  22. “Say it Ain’t so : US bombed Chávez’s sacred tomb”

MSN, Posted on January 5, 2026

“The United States bombed not only Venezuelan military facilities in its operation to arrest Nicolás Maduro but also the ‘Cuartel de la Montaña (Mountain Fortress)’ in western Caracas, where the tomb of Hugo Chávez (1954–2013), the late president and Maduro’s ideological pillar, is located. This site, where Chávez’s remains are enshrined, is a sacred place for Maduro’s regime. Situated at an elevation of 1,000 meters, it overlooks the presidential palace. The Maduro regime has daily fired cannons at 4:25 p.m., the time of Chávez’s death, to honor him.

This fortress is the birthplace and heart of the leftist revolution in Venezuela, where Chavismo—a radical anti-American, leftist ideology—was born. On February 4, 1992, Chávez, then an obscure paratrooper lieutenant colonel, used this site as his command center to launch a coup. The attempt aimed to overthrow the corrupt Carlos Andrés Pérez administration. The ‘4F’ on the Cuartel de la Montaña building refers to February (F) 4, the date of the coup.”

  23. “On February 8, 2024, the Fagradalsfjall volcano southwest of Reykjavík, Iceland, began erupting. That morning, Mezeul of Arvada, Colorado—who had permission to shoot by drone under police supervision—caught this image of a utility vehicle heading south. The van “made it through just a few minutes before the lava covered the road, completely destroying it,” he says.”
