Today is Mel Gibson’s birthday (born in 1956), and I went looking for interesting facts about this talented, sexy man. I found this article on factinate.com and I wanted to share some of the article.
1. A Few Brothers and Sisters…
Mel Gibson is the sixth of eleven children. Eleven children.
2. Poser Down Under
Originally born in New York, Gibson and his family emigrated to Australia when he was twelve. He kept his American citizenship, but picked up the Australian accent.
3. Knowledge is its own Reward
Gibson’s father won $21,000 playing Jeopardy.
4. Bottled Up

His sister applied on his behalf, but without his knowledge, to the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. At the time, Gibson had graduated but was working at an orange juice bottling factory. Somewhere out there is an alternate universe where Mel Gibson is referred to as the “Clark Gable of Orange Juice Bottling”.
5. One Day She’ll Fly Away
While working on that production, Gibson met his future ex-wife Robyn Moore. Gibson took one look at her and said, “One day, I’m gonna divorce that girl.”
6. I Don’t Want to Go to There
Gibson made $400 for his first film role, the 1977 Australian surfer film “Summer City.” It is also known as “Coast of Terror,” which would be a pretty awful tourism ad.
7. Mad Money
For his role in the first Mad Max film, Gibson made $15,000. By the time he got to the second sequel, “Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome,” Gibson’s salary was up to a million, his first million-dollar payday.
8. American Gothic
Gibson’s first American film was 1984’s “The River” in which he and Sissy Spacek played struggling Tennessee farmers.
9. Moo-Urns!
After working on four films in a row, Gibson took almost two years off to work at his Australian cattle station because cows are easier to deal with than actors.
10. Behind-The-Wheel Woes
Gibson took another year off after he rear-ended a car in Toronto whilst under the influence. He was banned from driving in Ontario for three months, which given the traffic, is much less of a punishment than you’d think.
11. Fine, I’ll Win an Oscar

Just like with acting, Gibson originally had no desire to direct. The studios encouraged him to do so, which resulted in Gibson eventually winning a Best Director Oscar for his work on “Braveheart.
12. Why So Serious?
As a director, Gibson likes to break the tension on set by having his actors perform serious scenes while wearing a red clown nose.
13. It’s a Sign
After making “Signs,” Gibson said he no longer wanted to be a movie star and only wanted to focus on roles that were “extraordinary.” He went on to make “Edge of Darkness,” which scored 56% on Rotten Tomatoes.
14. As You Wish
In keeping with his desire to no longer be a movie star, in 2010, Gibson had a public (and profoundly racist, cruel, and threatening) outburst against his girlfriend and was dropped from William Morris Endeavor, his talent agency.
15. Alcohol
On July 28th, 2006, Gibson was arrested by deputy James Mee of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for driving under the influence while speeding in his vehicle with an open container of alcohol. Gibson first told the officer, “My life is over. I’m [redacted]. Robyn’s going to leave me.” When the officer wouldn’t let him drive home, he exploded into a racist tirade which culminated with, “Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. Are you a Jew?”
16. Not the Best Record
Gibson’s divorce was finalized in December 23rd, 2011 and, at over $400 million, the settlement was said to be the highest in Hollywood history.
17. In the Right
Gibson’s political views have been charitably described as “ultraconservative.”
18. Laughing in the Face of Controversy

Gibson’s Icon Productions originally agreed to finance Michael Moore’s film “Fahrenheit 9/11” but later sold the rights to Miramax Films. Moore said that his agent claimed that “top Republicans” had called Gibson to tell him not to expect any more invitations to the White House. A spokesperson for Icon dismissed the story saying, “We never run from controversy. You’d have to be out of your mind to think that of the company that just put out The Passion of the Christ.” Fair point.
19. Stickler for the Rules
Gibson was raised a Sedevacantist traditionalist Catholic. He believes that, “There is no salvation for those outside the church… My wife is a saint. She’s a much better person than I am. Honestly. She’s… Episcopalian. And it’s not fair if she doesn’t make it. She’s better than I am. But that is a pronouncement from the chair. I go with it.”
20. On Abortion
Gibson is staunchly pro-life, telling Barbara Walters in an interview that, “God is the only one who knows how many children we should have, and we should be ready to accept them. One can’t decide for oneself who comes into this world and who doesn’t. That decision doesn’t belong to us.” This certainly explains why Gibson has nine children.
21. Breakfast of Champions
Despite his problems with alcohol addiction, he still managed to maintain his professionalism. “Lethal Weapon 2” director Richard Donner recalls being quite surprised when Gibson confided that he was drinking five pints of beer for breakfast. What’s more surprising is that Gibson managed to maintain his action star physique considering the sheer number of carbs he was consuming on a daily basis.

Good Morning All!
it’s about 17* this morning and cloudy (I’m guessing–can’t see a single star). Some time later today we have to make a run to the PO in town and maybe grab a couple of things at the little market that won’t make it till Wednesday’s walmart run.

Good morning, Pat! 31 here this morning and humid; still dark but I can’t see any stars so presumably cloudy. Wheezer was waiting, having eaten all of his dry food. He ate the tuna I put on top of the refilled dry food, then departed for the day.

The U.S. Army’s Delta Force, which is an elite special forces unit, reportedly conducted the operation. Trump described the operation as a “large scale strike.”
Eyewitness video obtained by CBS News shows the aftermath of the strike.
“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. Trump said he will hold a news conference about the situation at 11am from Mar-a-Lago.
Maduro is expected to face criminal charges in the United States, according to Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, who spoke to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. “He informed me that Nicolás Maduro has been arrested by U.S. personnel to stand trial on criminal charges in the United States, and that the kinetic action we saw tonight was deployed to protect and defend those executing the arrest warrant,” Utah Sen. Mike Lee wrote on X Saturday.”

Just The News: “A federal court in California on Friday struck down the state’s law that prohibits people from openly carrying guns in most public places, ruling that the state law was unconstitutional because it violated the Second Amendment.
The San Francisco-based Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals cited a 2022 Supreme Court ruling that struck down a New York law that required people applying for a license to carry a concealed weapon prove they have “proper cause” to carry a gun.
The California law in question banned openly carrying guns in counties with a population greater than 200,000 people.
The appeals court’s 2-1 decision said the California case “unquestionably involves a historical practice — open carry — that predates ratification of the Bill of Rights in 1791,” and that “historical record makes unmistakably plain that open carry is part of this Nation’s history and tradition.”
Judge N. Randy Smith, a George W. Bush appointee who dissented from the court’s majority opinion, wrote that banning openly carrying guns is constitutional because California allows weapons to be carried concealed.”

“Crew Of Starship ‘Enterprise’ Discovers Yet Another New Planet That Looks Shockingly Like Southern California”
Entertainment · Jan 2, 2026 · BabylonBee.com
SPACE — The crew of the USS Enterprise made a surprising discovery after landing on yet another planet that looked shockingly like the landscape of Southern California.
A scout team made up of Lieutenant-Commander Dr. Leonard McCoy and Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu was beamed down to the surface of an as-of-yet unexplored planet, finding its climate and topography to be — just as with many of the new worlds the crew had discovered — exactly like that of Los Angeles County.
“I urge caution as we disembark,” Dr. McCoy urged his colleague. “We have no idea what this civilization might be like. We’ve never seen a land as strange as this.”
Initial surveys revealed the planet’s inhabitants spoke fluent English, dressed exclusively in athleisure, and insisted they were “totally not like the other planets nearby.” Lieutenant Sulu confirmed that scans of the area revealed the climate was temperate, with a brief rainy season during the winter months and warm, sunny summers.
“We’re a simple, peaceful people,” declared one resident of the mild, California-like planet. “We have artsy ways that may prove interesting to this group of visitors from the sky. We invite you, strange outlanders, to join us in a meal of fish tacos.”
McCoy and Sulu then made a hasty retreat while laying down heavy phaser fire before evacuating back to the ship, where the crew set course to explore the next unknown planet that looked exactly like Southern California.
At publishing time, the Enterprise had sent Commander Spock and Ensign Chekov to investigate yet another world that bore an uncanny resemblance to the San Fernando Valley.

Just The News: “The leaders of Colombia, Mexico, Cuba and Brazil have come out against President Trump’s strike in Venezuela that led to the capture of Nicolas Maduro.
“We have just concluded the National Security Council meeting, which began at 3 a.m. Public forces are being deployed to the border, and all available support forces will be deployed in the event of a massive influx of refugees. The Colombian Embassy in Venezuela is active and responding to calls for assistance from Colombians in Venezuela. As members of the United Nations Security Council, we seek to convene the Council,” Colombian President Gustavo Petro wrote Saturday on X, translated from Spanish.
“The Government of Colombia rejects the aggression against the sovereignty of Venezuela and of Latin America. Internal conflicts between peoples are resolved by those same peoples in peace. That is the principle of the self-determination of peoples, which forms the foundation of the United Nations system. I invite the Venezuelan people to find the paths of civil dialogue and their unity. Without sovereignty, there is no nation. Peace is the way, and dialogue between peoples is fundamental for national unity. Dialogue and more dialogue is our proposal,” he added.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said the strike in Venezuela was a “serious affront” to the country’s sovereignty.
The bombings on Venezuelan territory and the capture of its president cross an unacceptable line. These acts represent a most serious affront to Venezuela’s sovereignty and yet another extremely dangerous precedent for the entire international community,” he wrote on X. ” Attacking countries, in flagrant violation of international law, is the first step toward a world of violence, chaos, and instability, where the law of the strongest prevails over multilateralism.”
He called on the United Nations to “respond vigorously” to the attacks.
The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a formal statement that the U.S. strikes violated Article 2 of the U.N. charter.
“Based on its foreign policy principles and its pacifist vocation, Mexico makes an urgent call to respect international law, as well as the principles and purposes of the U.N. Charter, and to cease any act of aggression against the Venezuelan government and people,” the statement said, according to a translation from Spanish. “Latin America and the Caribbean is a zone of peace, built on the basis of mutual respect, the peaceful settlement of disputes and the prohibition of the use and threat of force, so any military action seriously jeopardizes regional stability.”
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, said the operation to capture Maduro was a “criminal attack,” adding that “our zone of peace is being brutally assaulted.”

Just The News: “President Trump brushed off Democrats who are arguing that he lacked the authority to conduct the strikes in Venezuela that led to the capture of the country’s dictator, Nicolas Maduro.
“It was really genius. What they did is genius. The Democrats, you know, they’ll take a shot. All they do is complain. They don’t talk about — they should say, you know what? If we did a great job. We’re stopping drugs from coming into this country. And nobody’s been able to do it until we came along. But they should say great job,” he said on Fox News on Saturday.
“They shouldn’t say, oh, gee, maybe it’s not constitutional, you know, the same old stuff that we’ve been hearing for years and years and years. They did an incredible job, these men and women that went out there last night, the courage they had, going into an area where, you know, all the lights were turned, we turned off almost all of the lights in Caracas,” he added.
Trump said the operation was “so organized” and the U.S. is saving lives.
“And they go into a dark space with machine guns facing them all over the place, and then you hear from a guy that I’d never even heard of. But you hear from some congressmen saying, ‘oh, this is so terrible.’ We’re saving lives. And, by the way, the boats? Every boat — because that’s sort of related to this — every boat that we hit saves 25,000 lives,” he said.”

Just the News: “President Trump announced on Saturday that the U.S. is going to run Venezuela until the process to a new government plays out after the capture of its current leader, Nicolas Maduro.
“We’re there now, but we’re going to stay until such time as the pop — proper transition can take place,” Trump said at a news conference after the U.S. strikes that led to Maduro’s capture. “We’re going to run it essentially.”
Trump said the U.S. is prepared to carry out a “second wave” attack but it “probably” won’t have to happen. Trump warned that all military options remain on the table if needed. “Very importantly, the embargo on all Venezuelan oil remains in full effect. The American armada remains poised in position, and the United States retains all military options until the United States demands have been fully met and fully satisfied,” he said.
Trump also said Maduro and his wife are on a ship currently on their way to the U.S. They will face trial in New York or Florida, he said.”

Just The News: “Timothy Parlatore, a prominent defense lawyer who has advised President Donald Trump and War Secretary Pete Hegseth, on Saturday offered Just the News his analysis of the legal justification for the use of military assets to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro on narco-terrorism charges.
Parlatore is also a Navy reservist but offered his analysis in his private capacity. He was not involved in this particular operation and his opinions are his own, not that of the Department.
He offered the analysis hours after the Trump administration announced that Marduro and his wife had been taken overnight from their home on a Venezuelan military base. The couple was put aboard U.S. warship headed to New York, where they were to face the criminal charges.
“This bold move, announced by President Donald Trump himself, marks a watershed moment in American foreign policy, one that echoes the 1989-1990 operation against Panamanian strongman Manuel Noriega, yet surpasses it in efficiency and restraint,” Parlatore wrote. “The Maduro operation is not only entirely lawful under established precedents but also far more effective, given its limited scope amid Venezuela’s vastly superior defenses. Critics decrying it as overreach ignore history and the facts on the ground.”
He also wrote at about the same time Trump said the U.S. planned to run Venezuela until a transition of power can take place.
“Let’s revisit the Noriega precedent, which set the legal foundation for such interventions. In December 1989, under President George H.W. Bush, the U.S. launched Operation Just Cause – a full-scale invasion of Panama involving over 27,000 troops,” Parlatore continued.
“The objective was to depose Noriega, who had been indicted in 1988 on drug trafficking and racketeering charges in U.S. federal court. Noriega, once a CIA asset, had transformed Panama into a narco-hub, flooding American streets with cocaine while rigging elections and brutalizing his people. After annulling the 1989 Panamanian elections, he declared war on the U.S., prompting the invasion.
“The operation’s legality hinged on several pillars: Noriega’s status as a criminal fugitive under U.S. indictment, the protection of American citizens in Panama (including attacks on U.S. personnel), and the restoration of democracy. Courts upheld this framework post-capture; Noriega was tried and convicted in Miami, serving time until his death. International law experts, including those at the United Nations, debated the action but ultimately recognized it as a legitimate response to a rogue leader’s threats.
“The precedent was clear: When a foreign leader operates as a criminal enterprise head, indictments strip away sovereign immunity, justifying extraterritorial arrest.
“Fast-forward to Maduro. Indicted in 2020 by the U.S. Department of Justice for narco-terrorism, corruption, and leading the “Cartel of the Suns”—a regime accused of trafficking tons of cocaine into the U.S. – Maduro mirrored Noriega’s playbook.
“His 2018 and 2024 “elections” were blatant frauds, condemned by the U.S., EU, and dozens of nations as rigged spectacles that suppressed opposition leaders like Juan Guaidó and María Corina Machado. Maduro’s rule precipitated a humanitarian catastrophe: millions fleeing Venezuela, economic collapse, and alliances with adversaries like Russia, China, and Iran. Like Noriega, he rejected exile offers and clung to power through military might and repression.
“The legal parallels are undeniable. Maduro’s capture rests on the same indictments and bounties ($15 million in his case) that justified Noriega’s. U.S. forces acted not as invaders but as law enforcers, executing a warrant on a fugitive whose regime posed direct threats to American security through drug flows and regional instability. If Noriega’s operation was lawful – and decades of jurisprudence affirm it was – then Maduro’s is a textbook application of that precedent.
“Detractors invoking sovereignty overlook that both men forfeited such protections by running narco-states. As the Supreme Court has long held in extradition cases, criminals cannot hide behind borders.
“Yet, where the Maduro operation truly excels is in its effectiveness and restraint – a masterclass in modern warfare that outshines the Noriega invasion. Operation Just Cause was a blunt instrument: weeks of combat, hundreds of casualties (including civilians), and a massive troop commitment against Panama’s paltry defense force of about 16,000, many of whom surrendered quickly. It worked, but at a cost – financially, in lives, and in international optics, with U.N. condemnation lingering.
“Contrast that with Maduro’s takedown: Targeted airstrikes on key sites in Caracas, a special operations raid supported by the air assets, and a rapid airlift out.
“No broad ground invasion, no occupation. This surgical strike neutralized Maduro and his wife despite Venezuela’s formidable defenses – over 120,000 active troops, plus armed militias, Russian-supplied weaponry, and a sprawling geography dwarfing Panama’s.
“The operation’s limited nature minimized casualties, avoided prolonged entanglement, and leveraged intelligence from agencies like the CIA and NSA, much as in Noriega’s case but with superior tech and precision.
“Why more effective? Scale and strategy. Venezuela’s military is a “harder nut to crack,” as analysts have noted, with alliances that could invite proxy escalations. A full invasion might have spiraled into a quagmire akin to Iraq or Libya, costing billions and lives while alienating Latin America. Instead, this operation achieved regime decapitation with minimal footprint, paving the way for a Venezuelan-led transition.
“It’s a testament to evolved U.S. capabilities: Drones, cyber tools, and elite units that render massive deployments obsolete.
“Of course, risks remain – potential instability in Venezuela or backlash from Maduro’s backers. But the alternative was inaction, allowing a narco-dictator to fester. This operation reaffirms that America can enforce justice without imperial overreach.
“As we reflect on these events, policymakers should embrace this model: Lawful, precedent-based actions that prioritize efficiency over excess. In an era of great-power competition, such precision protects American interests while upholding the rule of law.”

“My Analysis of Venezuela”

“South America has historically been used as playground for the CIA/Deep State to engage in racketeering. Destabilized and low-functioning nations are the only place the CIA playbook can work.
So Trump is bringing stability to the nations and regions that past US administrations have destabilized and destroyed. If there is no instability, the Deep State cannot operate. Therefore, Trump is going to neutralize those causing the instability, ie, the cartels.
Trump is essentially undoing the decades of damage caused by the Deep State, and creating a new world the way it should be.”

I think Trump is signaling the house has been cleaned and the CIA has returned to its intended function. In addition, I think Trump is undoing the damage the CIA has been used to do over the last 78 years around the world. The Deep State network is being dismantled.
Trump did the same thing with Iran. Who enabled and paid Iran to make nukes? Obama via the Iran Deal. Neutralizing Iran’s nuclear capabilities was Trump cleaning up another Deep State mess created by past administrations.
Trump knows where all the Deep State assets and proxies are, and he is uprooting them. It’s actually happening. Trump is obliterating the Deep State!”

“The Global CIA Network is Being Dismantled”
Clandestine, Jan 03, 2026
“Over the years, the CIA created a vast global network of proxies and racketeering playgrounds via regime change and destabilization.
Trump and his team now control the CIA. Meaning Trump and his team have the Deep State network mapped out, and thus they know how to destroy it.
I think that’s what we have been witnessing with Iran, Hamas/ISIS, Ukraine, and now Venezuela. All CIA/Deep State proxies that are being neutralized and returned to the People as a sovereign nation, free of CIA influence.
I also think Elon and DOGE played an important role of finding all the information and mapping out the network.
Trump is destroying the global CIA/Deep State network that JFK tried to expose. This is what saving the world looks like.”

Just The News: “President Trump placed doubt on the chances of María Corina Machado, the Venezuelan opposition leader and 2025 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, leading the nation after Nicolas Maduro’s capture.
Opposition politician Edmundo González has been recognized as Venezuela’s legitimate leader following the widely disputed 2024 elections. He succeeded Machado on the ticket because she was barred from running by the Maduro-aligned judiciary.

“How RINO Cowardice Enabled the Somali Fraud Scandal — We have been voting for losers just because there is an R next to their name for generations, and where has it gotten us?”
Roger Stone, Jan 03, 2026
“Recently, Republican Congressman Tom Emmer came out and sternly condemned the barely literate third-world Somali invaders who have been exposed for committing fraud in Minnesota on an unprecedented scale by investigators and citizen reporters.
“I have three words regarding Somalis who have committed fraud against American taxpayers: Send them home. If they’re here illegally, deport them immediately; if they’re naturalized citizens, revoke their citizenship and deport them quickly thereafter. If we need to change the law to do that, I will,” Emmer said in a news release.
“Our nation will not tolerate those who take advantage of our charity and refuse to assimilate into our culture. Additionally, if any naturalized Somalis had undisclosed ties to terrorist organizations like Al-Shabaab, I want to see their citizenship revoked and their asses sent back immediately. Same goes for anyone who is found to have committed marriage fraud during the immigration process,” he added.
However, Emmer did not always talk so tough against the Somalis. When he was a freshman U.S. Congressman and his constituents were raising concerns about the degradation they were experiencing in their communities, Emmer inferred they were racists and said the low IQ sub-Saharan migrants were as American as anyone in the room.
“If you’re asking me how I feel about immigrant populations who are in this country legally, and who are actually trying to find a better way for themselves and their families, I support it wholeheartedly. I mean, the Germans had the same problem when they came over. The Polish had the problem. The Chinese had the problem,” said Emmer, who served as Chairman Emeritus of the Congressional Somalia Caucus.
“I’m going to tell you, the Somalis, according to the measurements that have been used over time, are some of the fastest-assimilating populations that we’ve had,” Emmer added.
If Emmer had actually listened to the concerns of his constituents, investigated and taken action, such a grandiose level of fraud likely would never have taken root. It is seductive to blame the convenient fall guy, “Tampon” Tim Walz, a deranged goofball, for the Somali fraud scandal, but that absolves the complicit RINO Republicans who have cheered on the migrant trafficking operation under the guise of refugee resettlement every step of the way.
“Maine has benefited from people from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and, increasingly, Africa — including our friends from Somalia,” said moderate “Republican” Sen. Susan Collins after President Trump slammed migration from Somalia back in 2016.
In early 2020, shortly before President Trump was set to be removed from office via deep state coup, 19 different lawmakers signed a consent decree stating that they wanted to receive more refugees from third-world countries after the Trump administration gave them an out.
“Throughout our nation’s history, the United States has been a refuge for individuals fleeing religious and political persecution in their homeland, and Arizona has historically been one of the most welcoming states in terms of the number of refugees resettled there,” former Republican Governor Doug Ducey wrote.
“Our long tradition of welcoming and helping to resettle refugees with support from our federal partners, shows the world the compassion of Hoosiers and our willingness to give others the ability to grow and prosper in the great state of Indiana,” former Republican Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb said.
After a psychotic former military contractor from Afghanistan committed a terrorist act against National Guard members Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe – murdering Beckstrom in cold blood – it was revealed that the Islamic extremist responsible had been shipped to the U.S. following Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal. For supposedly humanitarian purposes, Congress incomprehensibly voted to relax vetting standards to more easily import Afghanis to the U.S. and only 16 Republicans voted against the measure.
This is why it is not as important to not merely elect a Republican, but the right kind of Republican. We have been voting for losers just because there is an R next to their name for generations, and where has it gotten us? They have sold us out on immigration, refugees and just about every other issue. This year’s midterm elections give us an incredible opportunity. There is more public anger against establishment politics than ever before.
There has never been a better time for an America First outsider to run for office and win. If America First Republicans are not on the general election ballot in November, we will lose the country even if we come out again because our elected will be too weak to lead on any issue until it is already too late and the damage is done – just like with the great Somali swindle of Minneapolis.”

WE DID IT!
and it was easier than taking Panama. God Bless the USA
I’m confidant that President Trump retrieved the evidence of the fraudulant 2020 election via Dominion and smartmatic hard drives and intelligence. Venezuela has been ground zero for election interference globally. This raid succeeded whereas the spooks raid on Maralago did not
The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country. This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow. There will be a News Conference today at 11 A.M., at Mar-a-Lago. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President ~DONALD J. TRUMP
