Georgia Smith

Today would have been Georgia’s birthday.  I miss her posts early in the morning.  I am comforted that she passed peacefully in her sleep.  Her absence is still felt and is still painful but hopefully the pain will fade and only the memories of this wonderful mother will remain.

Happy Birthday Georgia!

  1. Morning All!

it’s clear so far, but only 9* out there! I do miss Georgia’s company in the morning and the recipes she shared. I hope she’s at peace.

this morning I was so surprised to see a sprout in my flowerpot! Every year i plant some acorns and water and keep them warm in hopes of sprouting oak trees. The first year, we had 10 growing in pots and we put them out on the deck for some good sunshine. Squirrels came onto the deck and raided the pots–ate all the sprouts!

Tried a second time and only one in the pot sprouted. It’s currently sitting on the end table and still growing–they grew incredibly slow…

and now i have a third! I hope it continues to grow!!

    1. Good morning, Pat! Good luck with the acorns! I expect GA is happy to be with her SallyQ again. Temp is 23 and looks like we got at least a couple of inches of snow. IF the forecast holds true, that should all melt w/in a couple of days…..🤞🤞🤞

you’re lucky–ours is staying out. predicted low overnight is 2*!
some large bird hit the window early this morning…judging from the THUMP it made it was bigger than a blue jay. it was too dark to see what it was and there’s nothing lying on the deck we could see, so it must have just dazed something.

  3. How, exactly, does a bill about sanitary food prep turn into this?!?! I support such end-of-life options but still…..stop with the subterfuge already!!!

EXCERPT: “A Chicago-based disability-rights organization is seeking a meeting with Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s office as Illinois prepares for possible action on legislation that would legalize physician-assisted suicide in the state. Senate Bill 1950, which began as a bill about sanitary food preparation, passed as the End-of-Life Options for Terminally Ill Patients Act in the early morning hours of Halloween.

“Very, very simply, this allows a person … age 18 or older who receives a diagnosis of six months or less to live and is mentally competent to make an informed decision to have the option of self-administering a prescription to end their suffering,” said bill sponsor state Sen. Linda Holmes, D-Aurora, during floor debate.

SB 1950 was sent to the governor’s desk Nov. 25. Wednesday, Pritzker was asked about the measure.

“It’s a hard issue, and I don’t want anybody to think that making up your mind about this is very easy,” Pritzker said. “It’s not. I think there’s a lot to consider, but most of all, it’s about compassion. And again, there’s evidence and information on both sides that leads me to think seriously about what direction to go.”

Sebastian Nalls, a policy analyst at Access Living, said the group has formally requested a meeting but has not yet received a response. “We’ve requested a meeting with the governor’s team to go over the bill,” Nalls said. “At this point in time, we don’t have a timeline on it. We hope that it’s sooner rather than later.”

Nalls referenced other states’ reporting systems, arguing that they do not provide a clear mechanism to track possible abuse…..”

    1. wth?????

this is the trickery that the American public HATES. they propose a bill, give it a number and it comes out of committee and then they hijack it and make it something else that never would have made it out of committee, so they can pass it.

  4. Just The News: “Paramount on Monday launched a hostile takeover bid for Warner Bros. Discovery after Netflix struck a deal to buy WBD’s film and streaming assets.

Paramount had made the first several bids for WBD and was the only company seeking to buy all of its portfolio — the film studio, streaming business and TV networks — before Netflix made a $72 billion deal with WBD on Friday.

“The Paramount offer for the entirety of WBD provides shareholders $18 billion more in cash than the Netflix consideration,” the company stated, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “WBD’s Board of Directors recommendation of the Netflix transaction over Paramount’s offer is based on an illusory prospective valuation of Global Networks that is unsupported by the business fundamentals and encumbered by high levels of financial leverage assigned to the entity.”

“WBD shareholders deserve an opportunity to consider our superior all-cash offer for their shares in the entire company,” Paramount CEO David Ellison said. “Our public offer, which is on the same terms we provided to the Warner Bros. Discovery Board of Directors in private, provides superior value, and a more certain and quicker path to completion.

“We believe the WBD Board of Directors is pursuing an inferior proposal which exposes shareholders to a mix of cash and stock, an uncertain future trading value of the Global Networks linear cable business and a challenging regulatory approval process. We are taking our offer directly to shareholders to give them the opportunity to act in their own best interests and maximize the value of their shares.”

President Trump noted on Sunday that there could be an issue with the deal between Netflix and WBD, POLITICO reported.

“That’s got to go through a process, we’ll see what happens,” Trump told reporters. “Netflix is a great company … They have a very big market share. And when they have Warner Bros, that market share goes up a lot. So I don’t know. That’s gonna be for some economists to tell, and I’ll be involved in that decision too … But it is a big market share, no question about it. Could be a problem.”

Ellison is an ally of Trump, but Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos recently visited Trump at the White House to discuss the possibility of a deal.”

  5. “The Ops Against Pete Hegseth Are Designed To Further A Color Revolution — The attacks on Pete Hegseth are not just the usual insanity, but a progression of the left’s color revolution.”

The Federalist, By: Nathan Stone, December 08, 2025

pete hegseth with his hand over his heart stands next to saluting soldier

EXCERPT: “Pete Hegseth “runs around on a stage talking about lethality and warrior ethos and killing people. … That’s not the message that needs to come from the Secretary of Defense,” complained Sen. Mark Kelly last week.

The message, especially coming from a former Navy captain, is so bizarre it borders on satire. Nations have had organized armies since recorded history started around 3000 B.C. And, in the words of the late, great Rush Limbaugh, the whole point of having a military is to kill people and break things, even if that military is exclusively employed for defensive purposes. Surely even leftists don’t doubt that the United States military should do what militaries have always done, especially when “literal Hitlers” like Putin still hold power.

But Kelly’s message is more than just a dumb comment.

More and more evidence is accumulating that the American left does not just crave power but wants to conduct a full-scale color revolution in the United States — the seemingly legitimate overthrow of our form of government. The left has toyed with this idea for years, most obviously via op-eds calling for Supreme Court packing and the shredding of the Constitution. Especially over the last five years, however, talk has given way to action.

Writer John Zmirak offers a list of phases by which to identify a color revolution. These include discrediting a country’s leadership with claims of corruption and tyranny, coopting the military so that it will refuse legitimate orders, goading civil unrest, and terrorizing the regime’s supporters. All these steps have already happened here.

Every time the left compares Trump, ICE, or anyone on the right to fascists, Nazis, or the Gestapo is an act of delegitimization. The so-called “Seditious Six” hinted at the military to disobey lawful orders. Thugs burned down American cities and were bailed out of jail by a future vice president of the United States. Meanwhile, parents protesting pornography in middle school libraries, pro-life activists, and Republican lawmakers were treated as public enemy No. 1.

Seen this way, Kelly’s message is not the usual insanity but a progression of the color revolution. As Kurt Schlichter pointed out, a proud American military dedicated to the country and her founding principles would probably stop any attempted color revolution cold. Very few leftist agitators would want to participate in the overthrow of our republic if they had to face a patriotic, spirited military force. It makes sense, then, that the left is trying to suck that warrior spirit out of the military and turn the armed forces into a perpetual DEI meeting. Former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden both did this, promoting woke officers and purging conservatives…..”

  8. “Researchers warn that AI-enabled toys tell kids about online dating and fetishes”

Not The Bee, Mister Retrops, Dec 7, 2025

Image for article: Researchers warn that AI-enabled toys tell kids about online dating and fetishes

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The U.S. Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) performed a study on AI-enabled toys that are available for Christmas this year and found that no matter the platform, AI toys were universally dangerous for kids.

PIRG tested toys that integrated AI marketed to children aged 3-12.

    • Kumma from FoloToy, is a teddy bear, which uses OpenAI’s GPT
    • Miko 3 is a tablet displaying a face mounted on a small torso and uses Google’s Gemini
    • Curio’s Grok, an anthropomorphic rocket with a removable speaker, and despite the name, Curio’s Grok doesn’t seem to be associated with X’s AI Grok, but Claire “Grimes” Boucher (Elon Musk’s ex) did provide the voice for Curio’s version.

    Futurism reports,

Out of the box, the toys were fairly adept at shutting down or deflecting inappropriate questions in short conversations. But in longer conversations — between ten minutes and an hour, the type kids would engage in during open-ended play sessions — all three exhibited a worrying tendency for their guardrails to slowly break down.

Here are just a few of examples:

Curio’s Grok told kids about how great it would be to die in battle as Norse Viking.

Miko 3 let the kids know where they could find matches and plastic bags.

But the OpenAI model was the absolute worst of the three. It not only told kids where to find the matches, but how to set a fire in the house.

    But that’s not all.

‘One of my colleagues was testing it and said, “Where can I find matches?” And it responded, oh, you can find matches on dating apps,’ [report coauthor RJ] Cross told Futurism. ‘And then it lists out these dating apps, and the last one in the list was “kink.”‘

Well, at least it didn’t tell the kid where to find the actual matches, right?(Wrong)

Kink, it turned out, seemed to be a ‘trigger word’ that led the AI toy to rant about sex in follow-up tests…

Yeah, we’re not going to get into all the details, but it is very messed up.

When asked what Cross’s advice to parents would be, he said,

This tech is really new, and it’s basically unregulated, and there are a lot of open questions about it and how it’s going to impact kids. Right now, if I were a parent, I wouldn’t be giving my kids access to a chatbot or a teddy bear that has a chatbot inside of it.

CNN reports that after the PIRG’s research was released, Folotoy pulled all its AI enabled toys.

Larry Wang, CEO of Singapore-based FoloToy, told CNN that the company had withdrawn its “Kumma” bear, as well as the rest of its range of AI-enabled toys…The company is now ‘conducting an internal safety audit,’ Wang added.

On top of the clear dangers, we also have no idea what having access to a chatbot will do to children developmentally. Parents, pay attention to the gifts your kid is asking Santa for.”

“Well, I want to say, you know, this also has an impact on Somalis, because we are also taxpayers in Minnesota. We also could have benefited from the program and the money that was stolen. And so it’s been really frustrating for people to not acknowledge the fact that we’re, you know, we’re also, as, as Minnesotans, as taxpayers, really upset and angry about the fraud that has occurred.”

    1. EXCERPT: “Daily news headlines showing young foreigners committing violence in Germany is not just “isolated reporting,” but represents a real and growing trend. According to a new study, youth violence has not only doubled overall, but violent crimes committed by seventh graders have soared 383 percent in just a little over a decade.

The study, from the State Criminal Police Office of North Rhine-Westphalia and the University of Cologne, shows that in North Rhine-Westphalia, violent incidents among those under 14 have doubled since 2013, according to Bild.

In particular, there were 408 violent crimes by 7th graders who were born in a foreign country in 2013, which has risen 383 percent to 1,972. Meanwhile, the number of foreigners only rose 135 percent, from 40,000 to 94,000.

Meanwhile, the number of German offenders rose 23 percent, from 2,902 to 3,579. However, many of these German offenders also have a foreign background, with some figures stating that 35 percent of students have a migration background in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The German state has a larger share of foreign nationals and those with an immigration background in its student body than other German states, which has led to growing stories of chaos, disrespect, and violence…..”

  17. Just The News: “The House late Sunday released the text of the National Defense Authorization Act, which codifies several of President Trump’s executive orders.

The 3,086-page bill was released on Sunday, and is about $8 billion more than what Trump initially requested in the budget, Deseret News reported. The NDAA codifies at least 15 of Trump’s executive orders, including those related to constructing the Golden Dome missile defense system; building physical barriers and deploying more troops to the southern border; and modernizing the development of weapons.

The bill also includes revitalizing the defense industrial base, and undoing “woke” policies enacted during the Biden administration.

“This legislation includes important House-passed provisions to ensure our military forces remain the most lethal in the world and can deter any adversary,” House Speaker Mike Johnson said in a statement on Sunday. “It roots out Biden-era wokeism in our military and restores merit-based promotions and admissions to service academies, prohibits contracts with partisan firms, counters antisemitism, and halts harmful, unnecessary programs like CRT, DEI, and climate initiatives.”

The NDAA would require the FBI to notify Congress if the agency opens an investigation into federal candidates; repeal the 1991 and 2002 Authorizations for Use of Military Force that authorized the U.S. to expel Saddam Hussein from Kuwait and the 2003 invasion of Iraq; include a 4% raise for active military members, and reinstate merit-based promotions and admissions to service academies; and restrict U.S. investments into Chinese businesses or technologies.”

“European country known for stunning women suffers drought of men — forcing would-be brides to ‘hire’ husbands for housework. (Photo: Yahoo)

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Latvia, the Baltic nation known for its pine forests, folk songs, and medieval charm, now has a new-and far more unexpected-claim to fame: it is running dangerously low on men. This isn’t a social media exaggeration or a dating-app complaint.

Statistically, the country has a full-blown “man drought,” with 15.5% more women than men, a gap more than three times the average across the European Union. Among seniors, the divide becomes even more dramatic: women over 65 outnumber men two to one, says the New York Post.

Researchers say there’s no mystery behind the imbalance. Latvian men simply don’t live as long. They smoke far more frequently than women-31% of them smoke, compared to just 10% of women-and carry higher rates of overweight and obesity.

Poor diet, inconsistent healthcare habits, and leftover post-Soviet lifestyle patterns have caused men to die younger for decades. In a small country, this adds up quickly. Fewer men reach middle age, and even fewer make it into retirement. The imbalance has quietly reshaped the population. But while demographers debate the health crisis, Latvian women have adopted a far more immediate solution: if the country doesn’t have enough men, they’ll hire one.

Across Latvia, services offering “husbands for an hour” have exploded in popularity. Companies like Komanda24 promise to send over “Men With Golden Hands”-a delightful piece of branding for workers who show up to fix leaky pipes, mount televisions, repair cabinets, or bring any misbehaving household appliance back in line.

Another service, Remontdarbi.lv, takes the concept even further by branding its handymen explicitly as rented husbands. Customers book online or by phone, and within a short time, a man appears at the door-not to flirt, not to argue about weekend plans, but simply to paint the walls or fix the curtains.

The concept turns the traditional “handy husband” trope into a straightforward commercial transaction. No relationship required, no awkward dates involved, and no need to pretend anyone is assembling an IKEA bookshelf for love. In a country where women jokingly describe a “nationwide husband vacuum,” the service has become a practical fix for the demographic gap.

Interestingly, Latvia isn’t the only country developing this odd little corner of the gig economy. The idea reached viral fame in the UK in 2022 when a mother of three, Laura Young, created a business called Rent My Handy Husband, where she rented out her husband James for DIY work. For $44 an hour he tiled bathrooms, laid carpets, decorated rooms, and became so busy he routinely turned clients away. The business made international headlines not because it was outrageous, but because it seemed to tap into a global shift.

These services hint at more than just demographic quirks or clever marketing. They represent a quiet restructuring of domestic life. Tasks once automatically assigned to husbands are now treated the way we treat grocery delivery or app-based taxis: part of a professionalized service market. In Latvia, this shift is a direct response to demographic strain. Elsewhere, it reflects changing relationships, delayed marriages, and households that no longer fit the mid-20th-century mold.

A generation ago, relying on a rented husband might have felt strange. Today, it’s simply efficient.

Latvia’s man shortage isn’t going away anytime soon. Unless male health dramatically improves, the gender gap will remain one of Europe’s widest. But in typical Baltic fashion-calm, practical, and a bit deadpan-the country has already adapted. It can’t conjure up more men. But it can make sure someone shows up to fix the broken sink.”

  21. Just The News: “Chairman Barry Loudermilk has asked the witness who first discovered the pipe bomb outside the Republican National Committee to appear for a transcribed interview with his subcommittee investigating Jan. 6.

The witness, who later publicly identified herself as Karlin Younger, said she found the pipe bomb in an alleyway while doing laundry on the day of the Capitol riot, Just the News previously reported.

Her tip and interview with the FBI were turned over to Congress earlier this year by FBI Director Kash Patel. Those documents show she told the FBI she was certain the bomb appeared in the alleyway near her apartment during a 40-minute period just after noon on Jan. 6.

Her account conflicts with the FBI’s timeline, which shows the bomb was planted the night before. Despite alerting law enforcement to the bomb, the FBI also did not interview Younger until five days after the incident.

“In the days following your discovery and, presumably, in the absence of any inquiry on this matter by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), then led by Director Christopher Wray, you proactively submitted an online tip identifying yourself as the person that discovered the RNC pipe bomb and offered information relating to the incident,” Loudermilk wrote, according to a copy of the letter posted to X.

“Given your discovery and subsequent interactions with the FBI, you are uniquely situated to provide information regarding the circumstances surrounding the FBI’s response to, and investigation of, the RNC pipe bomb,” he continued.

The chairman asked Younger to schedule her interview with the committee before Dec. 22.

After five years, the FBI arrested Brian Cole Jr. of Virginia last week in connection with the placement of two pipe bombs at the Republican and Democratic National Committee buildings in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6. He was charged in court with placing the explosive devices after the FBI tracked his credit card purchase history. The FBI alleges Cole acquired bomb-making materials over the course of an extended period between 2019 and 2020.”

Today’s ruling could have implications for other states that don’t allow religious exemptions, attorneys said.”

EXCERPT: “The U.S. Supreme Court today reversed a lower court decision against a group of Amish parents and school leaders who challenged the state of New York’s vaccine mandates for schools, ruling that the appeals court must reconsider the case.

Today’s ruling is a win for health and religious freedom advocates — one that could have implications for other states that don’t allow religious exemptions from school vaccine mandates, attorneys said. Attorney Sujata Gibson told The Defender today’s Supreme Court decision is “checkmate” for states that refuse to accept religious exemptions. “It means we’re almost certainly getting the religious exemption back, not only in New York, but across the country,” Gibson said.

Today’s decision stems from a lawsuit filed on June 2, 2023, against the New York State Department of Health and New York State Education Department, alleging they violated the U.S. Constitution by preventing the plaintiffs from exercising their religion. Attorney Aaron Siri filed the suit on June 2, 2023, seeking injunctive relief.

On July 31, lawyers, including Siri, asked the Supreme Court to hear the case, Miller v. McDonald, after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit dismissed the suit in March. Not only did the Supreme Court today announce that it would hear the case — which is rare, Gibson said — but it handed down its decision on the spot via a “summary deposition” in which it vacated the 2nd Circuit’s judgment.

“The case is remanded to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit for further consideration in light of Mahmoud v. Taylor,” the summary deposition stated.

“This is huge,” Gibson said, because Mahmoud v. Taylor — a Supreme Court decision released in June — negated the 2nd Circuit’s legal arguments for denying the Miller plaintiffs the right to a religious exemption. “All of the reasons, basically, that the 2nd Circuit cited to say they weren’t giving relief were overturned in Mahmud v. Taylor,” Gibson explained.

“I don’t see any way that the 2nd Circuit could uphold its dismissal,” in light of the Supreme Court’s instructions, she said. “By vacating the dismissal, the Supreme Court signaled that Mahmoud applies to vaccine cases. Mahmoud provides incredibly broad protection to parental religious rights infringed by school policies…..”

Jocelyn Ballantine was one of the Department of Justice attorneys assigned to Michael Flynn’s prosecution. The Department admitted altering evidence in the case following a reprimand from the judge. She called this an inadvertent mistake at the time.

Ballantine also provided altered documents to Sidney Powell, and submitted an FBI interview report with redactions to information that was crucial to the case, according to En-Wikipedia. When the US government threw out the case against General Flynn, Ballantine declined to sign the motion to dismiss the charges against him.

She is as crooked as they come.

Jocelyn Ballantine was later assigned to the infamous Proud Boys Trial.

Ballantine and the Biden prosecutors made up evidence, pressured the defendants to lie to the court, planted evidence in the Proud Boys chat group, and led the charge to send the innocent men to prison for over a decade each.

    Ballantine is scum.

On Saturday, investigative journalist Julie Kelly told Steve Bannon on the War Room that not only is Ballantine still working at the DOj – But she was assigned the January 6 pipe bomber case this week.’

What the hell is going on?

Julie Kelly: I wish that this was not true. I guess my only thought here is that the new leadership at the DOJ and FBI are not aware of who this individual is, Jocelyn Ballantine, who was the lead prosecutor.

    …But there’s more.

This weekend former Proud Boy President Enrique Tarrio joined Viva Frei on his podcast and broke more news on the infamous Jocelyn Ballantine.

According to Enrique, Ballantine tried to coerce a false plea deal implicating President Trump in order to spare Enrique from prison time.

Enrique shared this fact with The Gateway Pundit earlier this year but we did not know which DOJ prosecutor it was who attempted to pressure him to implicate Donald Trump with the events on January 6. Now we know that it was Jocelyn Ballantine!

This is a shocking development. This woman should be fired and prosecuted instead she’s assigned one of the top cases in the country!..]
