From: Animals.net:
The Pheasant comprises a large group of birds in the Phasianidae family. Their closest relatives are the partridge, quail, grouse, turkey, and more. Within the family, these birds make up the entire subfamily Phasianinae. Researchers recognize at least 39 different species of these birds, including the Common Pheasant, Golden Pheasant, Argus, and more.
Description of the Pheasant
Many species of these birds are brightly colored, with iridescent plumage, or feathers. Their coloration varies from grey, brown, tan, white, and black, to red, yellow, green, blue, and more. The males are usually more brightly colored than the females. Most of these birds are relatively large and have long tails. They usually measure between one and three feet long, including their tails, and weigh between one and five pounds.
Interesting Facts About the Pheasant
There are so many different species of these birds that it’s difficult to pick just a few unique traits. Learn more about some specific species and what makes them unique below.
Common Pheasant – The Common Pheasant is, well, common. They live throughout much of the northern hemisphere, including North America and Eurasia. However, their natural range is much smaller. Commons actually hail from several regions in Asia. Humans introduced them into North America and Europe so that they could hunt them.
Green Pheasant – This species is a close relative of the Common. They are so named because males have iridescent green feathers on their bodies. This flashy bird has a bright red face and is easily recognizable. The Green is Japan’s national bird.

Lady Amherst’s Pheasant – As these birds go, Lady Amherst’s is uniquely colored. Males have black and white striped feathers running off their heads and down their tails. They also have shiny blue-green feathers on their bodies and wings, a yellow “saddle patch” above their tails, and splashes of red thrown in here and there.

Crested Fireback – The crested fireback has a plume of dark feathers that grow from the top of its bright blue head. The feathers on its back, directly above its tail, are dark red. Combined with its yellow tail, this coloration gives this species the appearance that its back is on fire.

Habitat of the Pheasant
This group of birds lives in a variety of different habitats. Different species have different habitat preferences, and some Pheasants inhabit just a few types of habitats while others live in nearly any. Some of the different ecosystems that they occupy include rainforests, scrubland, meadows, mountainous regions, forest edges, woodlands, and more. Depending on the species, some also live in more urban areas, like farms, pastures, and agricultural areas.
Distribution of the Pheasant
Each Pheasant has its own unique distribution. Some live across an incredibly wide range, while others only inhabit a small region. Still others originally lived in a smaller area, but humans introduced them to different places. Most of these birds naturally range through various parts of Asia, but humans have spread different species to North America, Europe, Australia, and more. Some people also keep certain species on farms or in zoos.
Diet of the Pheasant
Most Pheasants are omnivores, which means that they eat both plants and animals. However, each species’ diet varies slightly. Some species eat mostly seeds and fruits while others feed more heavily on insects and invertebrates. A few of the different plant parts that they eat include berries, seeds, nuts, fruits, roots, bulbs, grains, shoots, and more. They also hunt for many different types of insects and invertebrates, like grasshoppers, spiders, worms, insect larvae, snails, caterpillars, and more.
Pheasant and Human Interaction
Though human impact and interaction varies from species to species, many of these birds are popular gamebirds. This means that people like to hunt them for their meat and feathers. In fact, this is why people introduced several species across the world. In their natural ranges, people have driven some Pheasants towards potential extinction. The threats that people pose typically include habitat destruction, hunting, and egg collection.
Domestication
You can consider some species of these birds to be semi-domesticated. People do farm and breed several species, and the Common species is particularly popular for this purpose. Farm-bred birds come in a variety of different colors.
Does the Pheasant Make a Good Pet
Some Pheasants do make good pets, but only for the right type of home. If you live on a farm, you could own one as a pet if you’d like. However, it is important to know that only some species are legal to own as pets, and it is only legal to keep gamebirds in certain areas.
Pheasant Care
In zoos and on farms, these birds need large enclosures with secure fencing to protect them from predators. They primarily walk on the ground, but they can fly, so their enclosures should provide space for them to fly safely if frightened. Pheasants do particularly well in aviary-style enclosures with plenty of space and shrubbery for them to hide in. Zookeepers and farmers vary their diet based on the species, but most of these birds eat a combination of seeds, insects, and pelleted insectivore feed.

Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Friday night signaled that his legal team intends to move forward with a defamation lawsuit against the BBC, despite its recent apology for editing clips from a speech in a way that appeared to indicate he was calling for violence.
Trump’s attorneys first threatened to sue the network for $1 billion on Sunday over its broadcast of a Panorama episode that aired last year if it did not issue a retraction, apologize and compensate him for the misleading edits.
The BBC apologized to the president Thursday for the misleading edits, acknowledging that it failed to live up to the company’s standards by giving a false impression. But it did not agree to compensate him.
“We’ll sue them for anywhere between a billion and $5 billion, probably sometime next week,” the president told reporters on Air Force One. “I think I have to do it. I mean, they’ve even admitted that they cheated. They changed the words coming out of my mouth. That’s worse than what CBS did with Kamala [Harris],” Trump said in reference to the former vice president’s interview with “60 Minutes.” “They changed her answer, but at least they didn’t show it coming out of her mouth.”
The BBC segment edited Trump’s declaration at the White House on January 6, 2021, that he and his supporters were “going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women,” and his statement nearly an hour later that Republicans “fight like hell.”
The clip instead combined the comments to have the president state: “We’re going to walk down to the Capitol… and I’ll be there with you. And we fight. We fight like hell.”
Criticism of the program also prompted BBC director general Tim Davie and head of news Deborah Turness to resign.”

Just The News: “The Coast Guard said it has responded to a Russian military spy ship near Hawaii and continues to monitor the vessel. The military branch announced Thursday that the Vishnya-class intelligence ship was detected on Oct. 29 about 15 nautical miles south of Oahu, Fox News reported.
The Coast Guard responded to the Russian Federation Navy Auxiliary General Intelligence ship, Kareliya, with the HC-130 Hercules from Air Station Barbers Point and the Coast Guard Cutter William Hart by conducting a safe and professional overflight and transiting near the vessel.
Coast Guard personnel are monitoring the vessel’s activities near U.S. territorial waters to provide maritime security for U.S. vessels operating in the area and to support U.S. homeland defense efforts.
“The U.S. Coast Guard routinely monitors maritime activity around the Hawaiian Islands and throughout the Pacific to ensure the safety and security of U.S. waters,” Capt. Matthew Chong, chief of response for the Coast Guard Oceania District, said in a statement.
“Working in concert with partners and allies, our crews monitor and respond to foreign military vessel activity near our territorial waters to protect our maritime borders and defend our sovereign interests.”
The Vishnya-class is a group of intelligence collection ships built for the Soviet Navy in the 1980s, and there are seven ships still in service with the Russian Navy.”

“Truth at the Speed of War”
Michael T. Flynn LTG USA (RET), Nov 14, 2025
“America stands at a crossroads. The greatest crisis we face is neither foreign invasion nor financial ruin nor even the factional strife that now masquerades as governance. The gravest danger before us is trust, that “main pillar in the edifice of your real independence, the support of your tranquility at home, your peace abroad,” as Madison warned in Federalist Number Forty-Nine.
The American people have been deceived, misled, manipulated, and betrayed by the very institutions designed to be their safeguard. These departments, much like the unchecked branches Publius feared, have grown ambitious beyond their constitutional boundaries. And now, at the very moment their power trembles, truth forces its way into the open like light through a cracked vault, exposing the “impostures” Hamilton condemned in Federalist Number Sixty-Eight.
There was a conspiracy to subvert the elections of 2016 and 2020, and to interrupt the peaceful succession of authority itself. It was a design as perilous as the cabals against the Electoral College that the Federalist writers labored to prevent. I was among the first targeted for destruction because I threatened the architecture of their scheme. That is no conjecture; it is confirmed by public records and sworn testimony, precisely the “multiplicity of documents” Publius insisted a free people demand of their magistrates.
The only citizens who arrived in Washington on the sixth of January with a deliberate plan were those inside the government, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the intelligence agencies, and the political officers who resolved that Donald J. Trump would not be permitted to hold the presidential chair. It was the very embodiment of the “violent factions” Madison described in Federalist Number Ten, now armed not with muskets but with badges, warrants, and federal authority.
Hundreds of undercover agents do not assemble in the capital disguised as ordinary citizens without forethought, coordination, and command. No standing force mobilizes without leadership, logistics, and intent. The bomber who planted the January sixth devices could be identified by sunrise if the will existed.
We have found enemies through the faintest print left in the smoke of battle; yet we are told that the most surveilled city on earth cannot discern the figure who placed explosive devices under the government’s own cameras. It is a mystery so convenient it borders upon the absurd, one more “pretended” enigma, as Hamilton would say, designed to protect the guilty.
This is not incompetence. It is deliberate resolve. It is the quiet, methodical usurpation of public trust, the very path to tyranny the Federalist writers warned was most certain.
Independent media now outpace the ability of the government to suppress them. Power fears sunlight because sunlight reveals corruption. Power fears pressure because pressure demands accountability. But most of all, power fears an awakened people. For as Publius taught, the ultimate security against oppression lies in the vigilance of the people themselves.
To the magistrates, officials, and power brokers in Washington, I say this without equivocation. Your season grows short.
Trust is the most brittle orb in your keeping, and you shattered it, fracturing the “confidence in the constituted authorities” that Madison deemed essential to a functioning republic.
This Commonwealth is not generations removed from the loss of liberty; we stand one election away. We inhabit precisely the “critical period” Jay described in Federalist Number Two, when the fate of the Union hangs upon a single contest and the virtue of those who must act.
If those entrusted with surrounding President Trump falter in the speed and resolve he requires, let them understand this clearly. The people will advance without them. For Publius was right, the power of the sword must remain not with the few but with the many.
Truth marches forward whether they permit it or not.”

Just The News: “Attorney General Pam Bondi on Friday announced she has selected a top federal prosecutor in New York to handle the Justice Department’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged ties to former President Bill Clinton and other Democrats.
President Donald Trump directed Bondi to investigate the alleged ties earlier Friday, along with alleged ties to major banks like JP Morgan and Chase. The probe comes after House Oversight Democrats released emails between Epstein and others regarding the president.
Bondi said she has selected acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton to lead the investigation.
“Clayton is one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country, and I’ve asked him to take the lead,” Bondi said on X. “As with all matters, the Department will pursue this with urgency and integrity to deliver answers to the American people.”
Clayton will also investigate Clinton’s former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman. The acting attorney previously served as the chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission during Trump’s first administration.”

Just The News: “President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan on Friday rebuked the United States’ Conference of Bishops’ condemnation of the administration’s mass deportations, stating the Catholic Church’s stance was “wrong.”
The Conference of Bishops released a rare statement on Wednesday that slammed the administration for the current “climate of fear and anxiety” surrounding immigration and race because of its deportation operations and arrests.
Homan, who is Catholic, told reporters at the White House that the bishops were wrong and defended the administration’s priority of securing the United States’ border, according to The Hill.
“The Catholic Church is wrong. I’m a lifelong Catholic, but I’m saying it not only as a border czar, but I’m also saying this as a Catholic,” he said. “A secure border saves lives. We’re going to enforce the law and by doing that we save a lot of lives. ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] is sending a message to the whole world.”
Homan said the administration is focused on arresting and removing public safety threats, but that illegal immigration itself is still a crime.
“If people would just look at the data and see that the vast majority of what ICE is doing is public safety threats,” Homan said. “A lot of media say that a lot of people in ICE detention aren’t criminals. Wrong. A lot of these people are national security threats. A lot of them don’t have criminal history records. It’s not okay to be in the country illegally. It’s a crime.”

“WAKE UP AMERICA! Face the Facts America—We are in the midst of a very serious and very dangerous COLOR REVOLUTION.”
Michael T. Flynn LTG USA (RET), Nov 15, 2025
“Whenever you hear anyone say, “We must save our democracy”, that is their signal to others that they want to destroy our republic. And trust that they are intent on doing so. Along with destroying our republic is the removal of those mainstay American values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of economic prosperity, along with the sanctity of human happiness.
These types of “revolutionary” statements, such as “he’s dangerous to democracy,” are the catcalls to the Marxist left to move faster toward achieving their goals of undermining our republic to eventually overthrow our government.
Most cannot wrap their minds around this “game,” which is not a game at all.
What is a Color Revolution?
It is the very sneaky, insidious “overthrow” of an elected government by clandestine parties. Under Barack Obama with the support of the socialist left and right (warmongers) in places like State, the Intel Community and the Defense (now War) department.
There are many inside of our government I have been warning about (quietly initially) and now very publicly that want to see the American way of life completely change. How?
1. Seize power (through rigged elections).
2. Add layers of bureaucracy along with layers of non-governmental organizations.
3. Start or extend wars and conflicts around the world.
4. Rob the coffers of our U.S. treasury to the tune of TRILLIONS of U.S. taxpayer dollars.
5. Wash (launder) that money through foreign nations, participating financial institutions, and select individual foundations.
6. Rinse and repeat.
Of course there are many other details but you get my point. This is the reality America faces. And if Mr. President Trump doesn’t get it and start ripping apart the key functions of the “deep state”, I’m afraid we will move rapidly through complacency to apathy and then obedience (slavery).
That’s what the radical leaders on the left want. Their application of useful idiots inside government and on the streets of America is very well thought out. It is part of a larger strategy.
WAKE UP AMERICA!“
