Unsolved Mysteries: The Watcher House

In June 2014, Maria and Derek Broaddus and their three young children were getting ready to move into their new home, 657 Boulevard in Westfield, New Jersey. They claimed the six-bedroom house was their “dream home” and was located just a couple of blocks away from Maria’s childhood home in one of the top 30th safest cities in the United States.

Three days after closing the sale, before the Broaddus family had even begun to move in, a letter arrived in their new mailbox. The letter was addressed to “The New Owner” in big, clunky handwriting. The typed letter read as follows:

“Dearest new neighbor at 657 Boulevard, allow me to welcome you to the neighborhood. How did you end up here? Did 657 Boulevard call to you with its force within? 657 Boulevard has been the subject of my family for decades now and as it approaches its 110th birthday, I have been put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming. My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is now my time. Who am I? There are hundreds and hundreds of cars that drive by 657 Boulevard each day. Maybe I am in one. Look at all the windows you can see from 657 Boulevard. Maybe I am in one. Look out any of the many windows in 657 Boulevard at all the people who stroll by each day. Maybe I am one.”

The letter also mentioned specifics about the Broaddus family. “You have children. I have seen them,” the letter continued, “So far, I think there are three that I have counted. Do you need to fill the house with the young blood I requested? Better for me. Was your old house too small for the growing family? Or was it greed to bring me your children? Once I know their names, I will call them and draw them to me.” At the bottom of the letter, the author used a cursive font to sign “The Watcher.”

After receiving the letter, the Broaddus family reached out to the previous family who had sold them the house, John and Andrea Woods. They stated that during the 23 years of living at 657 Boulevard, they had never received a letter like that, except once a few days before they were getting ready to move out of the house.

The Woods family also stated they had never felt watched in the two decades they had lived at the house and, in fact, rarely felt the need to lock their door at night. While they thought the note they received was odd, they threw the note away without much concern. Still, the two families went to the police with the letter, and an investigation was opened.

The police warned the families not to tell anyone about the letters, including their neighbors, who were now all suspects. Two weeks later, even though the Broaddus family still hadn’t moved in, they received a second letter with even more chilling specifics about the family, including the children’s birth order and nicknames.

The Watcher also asked, “will the children sleep in the attic? Or will you all sleep on the second floor? Who has the bedrooms facing the street? I will know as soon as you move in. It will help me to know who is in which bedroom. Then, I can plan better.”

Several weeks later, the Broaddus family had put their plans on hold to move in, a third letter arrived saying, “Where have you gone to? 657 Boulevard is missing you.”

By the end of 2014, the case had stalled. There was no digital trail, and the mental effects were taking a toll on the Broaddus family. There were no fingerprints and no way to place somebody at the scene of the crime. Only six months after they received the letters, they decided to sell the home. 657 Boulevard has been sold and is currently off the market, while The Watcher’s identity still remains a mystery.

  2. Donald J. Trump:

Just in: Documents show conclusively that Christopher Wray, Deranged Jack Smith, Merrick Garland, Lisa Monaco, and other crooked lowlifes from the failed Biden Administration, signed off on Operation Arctic Frost. They spied on Senators and Congressmen/women, and even taped their calls. They cheated and rigged the 2020 Presidential Election. These Radical Left Lunatics should be prosecuted for their illegal and highly unethical behavior!

  5. EXCERPT: “President Donald Trump is going to have to do some fancy footwork after his move to purchase beef from Argentina. Though he hopes the purchases will help to stabilize the economy of an allied power and lower costs for the average American consumer, domestic ranchers are challenging his commitment to the “America First” mantra and complaining that his Department of Agriculture has done little to help them address the supply problem stateside.

The Trump administration has sought to extend an economic lifeline to the government of Argentinian President Javier Milei, whose economic reforms have led to considerable tumult. The Treasury Department has committed to a $40 billion bailout, but the idea of purchasing beef from Argentina remains a mere suggestion.

“President Trump and his cabinet are working every day to lower prices for consumers,” a USDA spokesperson told Just the News. “While prices for other proteins such as eggs, pork and chicken have declined in recent months, beef prices remain elevated. This is due to the perfect storm of sustained increase in consumer demand for beef coupled with a prolonged decrease in the supply of live cattle.”

U.S. ranchers say they want a chance

Theoretically, increasing the supply of beef in the market would lower prices and ease the burden on consumers, who have complained of rising grocery costs. But American cattle ranchers, a generally reliable Republican constituency, feel betrayed by the mere suggestion and have urged him to instead fix the problems stateside by revamping the Department of Agriculture.

“We understand beef prices are high, and we admire your concern for all Americans, but this is not the fault of the American producer,” cattle producer Meriwether Farms wrote in a public letter to Trump. “This is the fault of politicians who have allowed BRICS-aligned entities to dominate the meat industry, that participate in price fixing and who also continually lie to their consumers.”

“On top of all this—there is only chaos coming from the Department of Agriculture. There is no true guidance, mixed messaging, and a copious amount of photo ops,” they continued. “There is no one to trust over there that truly understands the issues and isn’t bought out by or aligned with Big Industries.”

Meriwether Farms is far from alone in that sentiment. Indiana cattle rancher Todd Armstrong told CNN that “[w]hat frustrates me about this whole move is President Trump ran on an ‘America First’ program. I don’t see anything in this that puts America first. It’s hypocritical.”

Republican lawmakers, for their part, have relayed concerns from their constituents to the same effect. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., for instance, reshared the Meriwether Farms letter, saying “I’m hearing the same sentiment in my district.”

“At this point, help Americans only!” she insisted earlier this week.

“What we’re hearing from Montana ranchers and American ranchers and farmers generally is, ‘Give us a chance to do this with American products, with American producers first, before we turn to foreign markets’,” Sen. Tim Sheehy, R-Mont., told CNN……”

    1. my SIL raises a herd of cows for beef. It’s the freaking meat processing monopoly that raises the prices so high. The 4 (iirc) major processors of meat in this country control who gets their cows processed and when. You HAVE to pay their high fees to have your beef (or chickens, pigs etc) processed and it just keeps going up. Get rid of the big meat conglomerates–that will give smaller farmers a chance to bring their products to market.

      1. We still have meat processors/butchers in some of our small towns – there is one in Pierce where Mom buys her liver and nuts.

        1. SIL still butchers their own (for their own use and family of course) but he loses a lot when he sends cattle to the processor AND the smaller guys have to wait to get their meat processed–the larger guys get in whenever they want.

  6. Just The News: “Three guests have died at Disney World resorts in Orlando, Florida, in the past 10 days, with the most recent death occurring Thursday, according to media reports. The third death occurred at Disney’s Contemporary Resort near Magic Kingdom Park, the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to the New York Post. The man’s cause of death and time of death were not disclosed.

The fatality comes after a woman leaped to her death at the same resort last week, and a man in his 60s collapsed at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground on Tuesday and later died at the hospital, the New York Post reported. No foul play is suspected in the first two deaths, authorities have not commented on the third.

The Contemporary Resort has become known for being a popular place for suicides. Another man killed himself at the same resort in 2023.”

  7. I can certainly use an extra $50/mo!

Just The News: “Social Security retirement benefits will increase by about $56 a month on average next year due to a 2.8% cost-of-living adjustment, the Social Security Administration said on Friday. COLA provides both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income an annual adjustment to help ensure those benefits keep up with inflation, CNBC reported. Those programs provide benefit checks to about 75 million people.

According to the AARP, Social Security is the primary source of income for about 40% of older Americans.

Expert estimates had projected a 2.7% to 2.8% increase in benefits for 2026. In 2025, the cost-of-living adjustment was 2.5%. Over the past two decades, the Social Security COLA has averaged 2.6%, according to The Senior Citizens League.

“Social Security is a promise kept, and the annual cost-of-living adjustment is one way we are working to make sure benefits reflect today’s economic realities and continue to provide a foundation of security,” SAA Commissioner Frank J. Bisignano said in a statement.”

  9. Just The News: “President Donald Trump told reporters on Saturday that he is “open” to meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un during his Asia trip. Trump met with him at the demilitarized zone (DMZ) in South Korea in his first term.

“I’d be open to it, 100%. I got along very well with him, Kim Jong Un,” Trump said on Air Force One. Trump also addressed whether he recognizes North Korea as a nuclear power.

“I think they are sort of a nuclear power,” Trump said. “I mean, I know how many weapons they have. I know everything about them and I have a very good relationship with Kim Jung Un. When you say they have to be recognized as a nuclear power, well, they’ve got a lot of nuclear weapons, I’ll say that.”

  10. “DMSO Heals the Eyes and Transforms Ophthalmology: DMSO’s unique therapeutic properties reveal the unifying thread between many different “incurable” eye diseases.”

    A Midwestern Doctor, Oct 25, 2025

    Story at a Glance:

    • DMSO is an “umbrella remedy” capable of treating a wide range of challenging ailments due to its combination of therapeutic properties (e.g., reducing inflammation, improving circulation, and reviving dying cells).

    • DMSO has a unique affinity for the eyes, resulting in it (often spontaneously) treating a wide range of visual disorders that frequently cannot be treated with conventional therapeutic options.

    • DMSO’s ability to restore circulation, revive dying cells, and stabilize misfolded proteins allows it to treat a variety of retinal diseases (e.g., macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy or retinitis pigmentosa—in some cases reversing permanent blindness), eliminate visual obstructions (e.g., floaters and cataracts), reverse glaucoma or Fuchs’ dystrophy, and restore normal focus (frequently eliminating the need for glasses).

    • DMSO’s anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties allow it to treat dry eyes, inflammatory diseases around the eye (e.g., blepharitis, styes, and psoriasis) or within the eye (e.g., iritis, uveitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis), along with bacterial, fungal, parasitic, or viral eye infections such as shingles.

•DMSO’s healing properties also allow it to heal a variety of eye injuries (including severe ones which would otherwise require eye removal), skin issues around the eye (e.g., burns, skin tags, and under-eye bags), and eliminate eye muscle spasms.

•This article will review the extensive data demonstrating DMSO’s efficacy for eye diseases, along with an examination of the most common protocols used for them and other natural approaches that also aid in the treatment of common eye disorders.

Since 2024, I have been working diligently to present the extensive data that DMSO is a remarkable therapeutic that is uniquely suited to treat many highly challenging medical conditions due to its counteracting many root causes of disease (whereas, in contrast, vaccines cause a myriad of health issues by inducing those key drivers of illness). From this, I’ve compiled a series of articles synthesizing thousands of studies that have shown DMSO effectively treats:…..”

  11. Just The News: “The Trump administration might soon deport Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national who was living in the U.S. illegally, to Liberia after reaching an agreement with that country, according to a Department of Homeland Security filing on Friday.

According to the filing, Abrego Garcia could be transferred to the West African nation as early as Oct. 31 to carry out an existing deportation order against him.

Abrego Garcia was mistakenly deported to El Salvador in March despite a 2019 ruling granting him protection and a court order preventing his removal to his home country. He returned to the U.S. in June.

Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, Abrego Garcia’s attorney, criticized the Trump administration’s handling of his client’s case.

“After failed attempts with Uganda, Eswatini, and Ghana, ICE now seeks to deport our client, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, to Liberia, a country with which he has no connection, thousands of miles from his family and home in Maryland,” he said, according to The Associated Press.”
