    1. Good morning…..rainy day here. It was super windy all day yesterday and most of the night; the wind stopped in the wee hours of this morning, followed by some light rain. No news from Jerry re: mower….

Wheezer was sleeping on the chair. He jumped down, ate some of the tuna, and drank the juice. I think he has issues with his teeth because he has difficulty getting to it when it’s packed down. I always go out and loosen it up for him, and then he eats the rest. He had jumped back up on the chair and curled up again – usually, he jumps right back down to eat the remaining tuna but he must be really tired today – curled up and went back to sleep!

Oh, yeah – about the garage door opener – duh! The sensors on the bottom were out of alignment – super easy fix! Good thing I didn’t have to pay for that service call and Jake already knows I’m kinda ditzy anyway! LOL

9th Circuit blocks LA Federal Judge’s order against National Guardsmen in LA!

Ninth Circuit blocks first order: Later that same month, a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals blocked Judge Breyer’s initial order. The panel ruled that the presidential administration had broad discretion to call up the Guard when federal laws were not being executed and federal property was at risk.

Second ruling on Posse Comitatus Act: In September 2025, Judge Breyer issued a second ruling, finding that the federal use of the Guard violated the Posse Comitatus Act, an 1878 law that limits the military’s involvement in domestic law enforcement. The judge ordered the administration to cease using the Guard for activities like arrests and crowd control in California.

Ninth Circuit blocks second order: On September 4, 2025, the Ninth Circuit temporarily lifted Judge Breyer’s second order. The appeals court ruling was issued to give the panel more time to consider the administration’s request for a stay on the injunction, pending appeal

Inside the new spending bill Democrats don’t want you to see

“I read the continuing resolution proposal that the Democrats sent out so that you didn’t have to, and I’m gonna tell you what’s inside of it

    • $490 million, goes straight to PBS. How is that prioritizing the American people?
    • They want $157 million set aside for Congress itself. They want additional security for members of Congress, residential security systems
    • $10 million for upgrades in security to the State Office. I’m sorry, but average Americans are living in cities that are ridden with crime
    • $174,000 each in death gratuities to 3 dead members of Congress. It’s tragic, and I’m sorry for the loss of those members of Congress. But ordinary Americans don’t get six-figure payouts from Congress when one of our family members dies. So why are we paying for them?
    • One of the biggest things on this bill, y’all aren’t even going to believe this, $437 million for the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development

    Yeah, that’s American tax dollars.
Taxpayer money being sent to boost Europe’s economy. Not to fix our border, not to lower inflation, but actually to spend more of our money to buy 40,000 shares in a country we don’t live in

Make sure that you share this so that people understand what we’re really fighting against.”

  4. Just The News: “President Donald Trump plans to travel to Norfolk, Virginia to celebrate the Navy’s 250th anniversary on Sunday despite the ongoing government shutdown.

In a message posted late Friday on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I believe, ‘THE SHOW MUST GO ON!’” He promised “the largest Celebration in the History of the Navy,” saying thousands of active-duty service members and their families are expected to attend.

The visit comes as Washington remains at a standstill over the budget, which forced the federal government to shut down on Wednesday. The closure has resulted in many federal employees being furloughed, while active-duty military personnel continue to work without pay. After previous shutdowns, federal workers received back pay.

Several infrastructure and energy projects in Democratic-led cities such as New York and Chicago have also been paused. In his post about Norfolk, Trump accused Democrats of using the shutdown to “destroy this wonderful celebration of the U.S. Navy’s Birthday.”

Senate Democrats, meanwhile, have blamed the lapse in funding on the Trump administration not yet extending the federal subsidies that help stabilize health insurance costs under the Affordable Care Act, which expire at the end of the year. Democrats are also seeking to restore the cuts to Medicaid that Trump previously approved in the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Senate Republicans have called on Democrats to vote for a clean temporary funding bill to allow more time for budget negotiations. Several attempts to do so failed on the Senate floor.”

  5. “Muslims accused of vandalizing church in Texas argue First Amendment right, so far jurors disagree. The defendants allegedly spray painted “expletive Israel” and affixing pro-Palestinian/Hamas stickers to the exterior of the church.”

Just The News, By Bethany Blankley, October 4, 2025 10:40pm

(The Center Square) – Three Muslims charged in connection with vandalizing a church in Euless, Texas, last year argue doing so was their First Amendment right. So far, jurors have disagreed, convicting one man, Raunaq Alam, of vandalism but not of a hate crime.

Alam was one of three charged in connection to the vandalization of a nondenominational church, Uncommon Church in Euless, in Tarrant County in March 2024. They are accused of spray-painting “expletive Israel” and affixing pro-Palestinian/Hamas stickers on the exterior of the church building, among other actions recorded on a church security camera.

District Attorney Phil Sorrells initially charged them with felony criminal mischief. The charges were later increased to a third-degree felony hate crime, which carries a sentence of two to 10 years in prison. It was increased to a hate crime because the perpetrators targeted a church because of religion, the prosecution argued.

Judge Brian Bolton issued a sentence of five years probation. Alam was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and $1,700 in restitution to the church. His probation terms include serving 180 days in jail, conducting 180 hours of community service, undergoing regular drug and alcohol testing, wearing a GPS monitor and issuing an apology to the church. Alam was next indicted on a charge of committing perjury, and he faces a drug possession charge. His attorney argues her client is being targeted.

Co-defendant Afsheen Khan was also charged with felony criminal mischief, and her trial is set to start soon. A third defendant, Julia Venzor, agreed to testify against Alam and Khan as part of a plea deal. She pleaded guilty in exchange for the deal and also received five years of probation, WFAA News reported.

The vandalism occurred after the church put up an Israeli flag to express solidarity with Israel after the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attack, Uncommon Church’s pastor, Brad Carignan, testified in court. The case has been considered part of a pattern in Texas in which Christians, churches, Jews, synagogues and pro-Israel Americans have been targeted with unprovoked violence by Muslims.

In January 2022, a Pakistani Islamist held hostage Jewish parishioners at a Colleyville synagogue. In 2023, two Hispanic Republicans in Texas’ congressional delegation – Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Monica De La Cruz – were targeted by Hamas supporters, The Center Square reported.

At least three public schools in Texas were identified by the Biden administration’s Department of Education last year for civil rights violations due to religious discrimination targeting Jewish students, The Center Square also reported. As antisemitic incidents escalated nationwide, pro-Palestinian/Hamas rioters called for the annihilation of Israel and protested Israel on college campuses, including in Texas.

In response, Gov. Greg Abbott directed Texas Department of Public Safety troopers to arrest them. The rioters argue their actions are protected by the First Amendment, Abbott maintains that calling for the death of Jews is not protected speech. He also maintains that college rioters should be arrested and expelled and faculty espousing antisemitism should be fired.

Muslim groups sued Abbott last year, arguing his directive violated the First Amendment, The Center Square reported. Abbott, a former Texas Supreme Court justice and former Texas attorney general, maintains it does not.

Jewish groups also sued Muslim groups arguing they were knowingly providing “continuous, systematic, and substantial assistance to Hamas and its affiliates’ acts of international terrorism,” The Center Square reported.

In the wake of increased targeted violence against religious institutions and ahead of the second anniversary of the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks, Abbott this week directed enhanced security measures to be taken around places of worship, The Center Square reported. He and the Texas legislature have also advanced numerous efforts to combat antisemitism, including in Texas public schools and universities.”

Just The News: “North Carolina Governor Josh Stein on Wednesday signed a new law in response to the shocking stabbing aboard a commuter train that claimed the life of a Ukrainian refugee, Iryna Zarutska.

The legislation, which was fast-tracked by state lawmakers, mandates increased security on public transit and imposes stiffer penalties for violent acts on trains.

Supporters say it’s intended to close a legal loophole that allowed the assailant’s previous charges to be downgraded. The killer had a long wrap sheet of prior offenses.”

  9. EXCERPT: “Eight years in prison. That’s apparently what the near-assassination of a Supreme Court justice is going for these days in the hands of a leftist judge.

On Friday, U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman of Maryland handed down a mere eight-year sentence to the man (now insisting he’s a woman) who showed up at conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s Maryland home with a Glock 17 pistol, ammunition, lock picks, duct tape, pepper spray, and other burglary tools. And murder on his mind. ‘Abhorrent Form of Terrorism’

Nicholas Roske, who now goes by “Sophie,” would have tried to carry out his deadly errand had he not spotted the U.S. Marshals outside the justice’s house. That’s what he told investigators. The California resident, who was 26 at the time, had hoped to kill three of the high court’s conservative justices in pursuit of swinging the balance of powers to liberals, court documents state.  He told investigators he was outraged after a leaked draft opinion indicated the majority was about to overturn Roe v. Wade, ending federal protection of abortion.

“The defendant’s criminal conduct — the Attempted Assassination of a Justice of the United States, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 351(c) — required extensive premeditation. The defendant researched; planned; procured the tools for the planned killings; traveled across the entirety of the country with those tools, including a gun; and attempted to delete online evidence of motive and intent,” states the government’s Sept. 19 sentencing memo.

“The defendant’s objective — to target and kill judges to seek to alter a court’s ruling — is an abhorrent form of terrorism and strikes at the core of the United States Constitution and our prescribed system of government,” the memo added.

Prosecutors had recommended  Boardman follow federal sentencing guidelines and sentence Roske to “no fewer than 30 years to life imprisonment.” The Biden-nominated judge decided to lean closer to the defense’s more lenient recommendation. In delivering her sentence, Boardman followed the left’s pronoun guide in referring to the would-be assassin…..”

  10. Just The News: “Almost one thousand climbers and tourists remain trapped on the Tibetan side of Mount Everest after a severe blizzard blocked access to key camps and passages, Chinese state media report.

The storm, which began Friday evening and persisted through Saturday, dumped heavy snow and rendered roads impassable in the region above 4,900 metres (16,000 ft), according to Reuters.

Rescue teams and dozens of local villagers are now working to clear snow and re‑open routes into the area. Officials said that some of those stranded have already been brought down to lower ground, Reuters also reported.

Local tourism authorities have canceled ticket sales and suspended entry to the Everest Scenic Area late Saturday as the storm grew stronger.

Across the Nepal border, heavy monsoon rains triggered floods and landslides. Roads have been washed out and bridges destroyed, resulting in at least 47 deaths there since Friday.”

  11. Just The News: “The Trump administration is signaling that large-scale layoffs of federal workers could be imminent if ongoing talks with congressional Democrats fail to yield a resolution to the partial government shutdown, now in its fifth day.

White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett said Sunday that President Donald Trump may order widespread layoffs if it becomes clear that negotiations are not going anywhere.

“There’s still a window for Democrats to come to the table,” Hassett said on CNN’s State of the Union. “But if it becomes obvious that things are absolutely going nowhere, then, unfortunately, we have to consider all options.”

    The shutdown began on Wednesday.”

  12. One of the things my Mom loved to do was look at her many, many photos albums. My brother brought in one small one that she constantly looks at. I got the brilliant idea to make her another photo album–probably pictures she already has, but probably hasn’t seen in a long time. I wrote on the inside of the album that it belonged to me and should be returned to me. i can imagine my brother’s wife tossing it at some point.

I’ll mail it to her this week!

  13. HERE WE GO: Obama Judge Sets Hearing on Whether the Child-Trafficking Case Against MS-13 Gang Member Kilmar Abrego Garcia is Result of “Vindictive Prosecution”

    by Cristina LailaOct. 4, 2025 1:40 pm

A federal judge on Friday set a hearing on whether the child-trafficking case against MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia was due to “vindictive prosecution.”

US District Judge Waverly Crenshaw, an Obama appointee, set a hearing based on public statements made by Pam Bondi, Todd Blanche, Kristi Noem, and others.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia is an El Salvadoran national who was illegally residing in Maryland. In 2019, an immigration judge ordered Abrego Garcia, an alleged member of the dangerous MS-13 gang, removed from the US.

After a months-long court battle over his deportation, Kilmar Abrego Garcia was transported back to the United States from El Salvador to face criminal charges.

A federal grand jury in Tennessee recently indicted Kilmar Abrego Garcia for “transporting undocumented migrants within the United States.”

He was charged with one count of conspiracy to transport aliens and one count of unlawful transportation of undocumented aliens.

According to the indictment, Kilmar Abrego Garcia and co-conspirators from El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and the US were trafficking illegal aliens from 2016 through 2025.

Judge Crenshaw has requested discovery as he set a hearing.

“[Abrego’s] prosecution may stem from retaliation by the DOJ and DHS due to Abrego’s successful challenge of his unlawful deportation in Maryland,” the judge wrote.

“Actual vindictiveness may be apparent based on the Executive Official Defendants’ and their subordinates’ statements about Abrego from the time he filed his Maryland lawsuit” challenging his deportation “through his arrest in this District,” the judge wrote in a 16-page ruling.

Abrego Garcia’s lawyers recently asked Judge Crenshaw to impose a gag order on Bondi and Noem so he could have a ‘fair trial.’

Earlier this year, Fox News obtained the body cam footage that shows Kilmar Abrego Garcia being caught human trafficking in 2022.

  14. Greta claims she’s been subjected to heinous conditions inside a bedbug-infested Israeli holding cell following her detention as part of an aid flotilla bound for Gaza. Sweden’s Foreign Ministry notified Thunberg’s parents via email, which was shared with The Guardian, that they had met with the outspoken 22-year-old in Israel. In the email, officials said Thunberg has complained of dehydration, claiming she hasn’t been given enough food or water.

“She also stated that she had developed rashes, which she suspects were caused by bedbugs,” the email said. “She spoke of harsh treatment and said she had been sitting for long periods on hard surfaces.” Ya know what they say, Greta dearest – FAFO…
