Today is Kelsi Ballerini’s birthday. She was born in 1993 and this song, Peter Pan, is one of my all-time favorite songs. When I first heard it, I thought it epitomized my son—never settling down, never getting serious about a girl and a future. And then he met my future daughter-in-law…and all that changed.
The smile, the charm, the words, the spark
Everything, you had it
I guess I had a naive heart, ’cause boy, I let you have it
You said I was your only
Never thought you’d leave me lonely
[Pre-Chorus]
You’re just a lost boy, with your head up in the clouds
You’re just a lost boy, never keep your feet on the ground
[Chorus]
Always gonna fly away
Just because you know you can
Never gonna learn there’s no such place
As Neverland, you don’t understand
You’ll never grow up
You’re never gonna be a man
Peter Pan
[Verse 2]
Deep down, I knew that you were too good to be true
But every piece and part of me wanted to believe in you
Now it’s happily ever never
I guess now I know better
[Pre-Chorus]
You’re just a lost boy, with your head up in the clouds
You’re just a lost boy, never keep your feet on the ground
[Chorus]
Always gonna fly away
Just because you know you can
Never gonna learn there’s no such place
As Neverland, you don’t understand
You’ll never grow up
You’re never gonna be a man
Peter Pan
Oh, whoa, mm
[Bridge]
You’re just a lost boy, yeah, I know who you are
And you don’t know what you lost, boy
Too busy chasin’ stars
[Chorus]
And you’re always gonna fly away
Just because you know you can
Never gonna learn there’s no such place
As Neverland, you don’t understand
You’ll never grow up (Oh, you’ll never grow up)
You’re never gonna be a man
You’re never grow up (Grow up)
Yeah, you’re never gonna be a man
Peter Pan
Never gonna be a man

Good morning, Pat! Muggy here this morning @ 69 – rain possible today. Wheezer is asleep on the chair again.
JUST THE NEWS: “President Trump on Friday morning expressed confidence that authorities now have a suspect in custody in the fatal shooting earlier this week of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk. “I think with a high degree of certainty we have” a suspect in custody, President Trump said on the Fox News channel.
Earlier in the morning, multiple sources told Just the News the FBI and Utah authorities had detained a person of interest in the investigation and are gathering evidence in hopes of filing a state arrest warrant later Friday.
Trump in the interview said that “someone very close” to the suspect turned him in. While he wouldn’t reveal the name of the person, he confirmed there will be updates later Friday. The president said he heard that the suspect was in custody “five minutes before I walked in,” adding that the local authorities “did a great job, everybody worked together.”
“It all worked out,” he said. Trump noted that authorities started with “absolutely nothing.” “We started off with a clip that made him look like an ant, that was almost useless. We just saw there was somebody up there.”
Trump also said that he hopes Kirk’s killer receives the death penalty. “Kirk was the finest person, and he didn’t deserve this,” he said.
Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative political activist, was fatally shot Wednesday from about 150 yards away by an assassin with a high-powered rifle at Utah Valley University, in Orem, Utah.
Trump in the interview seemed to say the person of interest was taken into custody after a person identified him in a photo and that the suspect’s father facilitated law enforcement detaining his son.”

“The Death Of Charlie Kirk Is The Turning Point For Accountability In America”
James O’Keefe, September 12, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Charlie Kirk’s death is a “dark moment for America,” per President Trump. It’s also a turning point for you and me, a call to action, and a time for choosing. But first, let me tell you about my relationship with him.
Charlie was the greatest man I’ve ever personally known. A moral, kind, generous, and irreplaceable man. Charlie was Turning Point USA, the organization he founded. We are sad today because he represented the best of America and what we as men aspire to be. What set him apart was he was the least hypocritical man I’ve ever known. He practiced what he preached in his professional and personal life. As for what he built, I would often watch him work and utter to myself, “He’s a force of nature.” He was a modern day William F. Buckley meets Rush Limbaugh meets Campus community organizer. It hurts to see him gone from this earth after all that was seemingly planned for him. Many of us know he would have been President one day. As Kierkegaard once said — “The most painful state of being is remembering the future, particularly the one you’ll never have.”
For those of you who never met him, this feels like a death in the family. For those of us who did know him, we are heartbroken and grieving with a depth we’ve never before experienced.
I met Charlie Kirk at a Chicago diner in 2012 when he was 18 and I was 27. He was persistent in reaching out to me looking to obtain a meeting to receive guidance and advice in what he set out to build. He spoke confidently about his plans to build a mass movement of young people. I remember thinking at the time just how ambitious, grandiose and seemingly improbable it all seemed for this precocious kid. It was a world-changing idea but there are thousands of DMs of people with ideas who talk about the need for political change on a massive scale. Yet few people actually had the X factor that Charlie had. And sitting across from me was this teenager with a half-eaten sandwich speaking with the quiet conviction of Martin Luther: ‘Here I stand, I can do no other.’
I saw him shortly thereafter living on a couch at Lee Hanley’s house on Palm beach island, a donor I was that day soliciting for funds. Charlie was running around the country; indefatigable, relentless, executing his vision.“ Everywhere I go I run into Charlie Kirk,” I vividly recall Rush Limbaugh saying at the time while at Mar a Lago.
A decade later, Charlie built his mass movement.
The irony was it was me, 10 years his senior, now asking him for advice. I had to start all over. He was on the phone with me coaching me through my darkest days. I remember pulling over to the side of the road, pacing through the grass, as we had profound conversations about the difference between knowledge and wisdom, as he tried to help me find God in the face of unimaginable evil and betrayal. I’ll never forget the question he asked me; “Do you love yourself, James.” Then, in San Diego in September 2023 at the Turning Point Faith co, he summoned me on stage with Pastor Rob McCoy, put his hands on me and asked the entire convention center of 1,200 pastors to pray for me.
ask 1,200 pastors to pray for me
But it wasn’t just spiritual advice. He prayed as if it depended on God and acted as if it depended on him. He helped me make payroll one month that year when I was rebuilding. That was an act that moved even the non-believers amongst us. Many others who knew him have stories like this. I looked up to him, and deeply admired him. He was a role model of what a man ought to be; a better man than we, ‘a model of civility and heroism in an age where those things have been under constant attack.”
When asked by a podcaster on how he wanted to be remembered, Charlie said “courage for his faith.” Charlie did not point left or right but up, where he is now.
But now, for our country and at this pivotal moment in our history, this is our generational equivalent to the assassination of Martin Luther King or John F. Kennedy. As pastor Signorelli wrote today, “the devil overplayed his hand, once again, and this will be the impetus for a mass awakening.”
Charlie’s murder has brought out a premonition that we are headed down a very dark path indeed unless something immediately changes within us.
It is not a coincidence that an assassin a mere 200 yards away targeted him in the throat, to send a message they are coming to take OUR VOICE. Charlie’s show was distributed through “Real America’s Voice.” Visual images of this horrifying moment of blood spurting out bombarded our social media feeds, and it was a shock against our conscience, our humanity and it was, as another patriot once wrote, a time that tried our souls. This was a symbol that they thought was going to scare us and honestly, it did.
Now that Charlie has ascended, he has left us with a dire warning and a call to action. The price for his message was his life. In our country there is a lack of accountability for those who do evil. People who commit crimes don’t fear accountability. Ask anybody at the events he leads and they all say the same thing. You might even be saying this to yourself:
“Those who do wrong face no consequences.”
“Evil goes unpunished in our government.”
“Nothing ever happens to these people.”
“Nobody is held accountable for anything.”
Call it the deep state. Call it the 4th estate or “The Powers that Be.” Call it bad people in corporations and government acting in confluence, the reality is all the same. Justice just isn’t there for those who deserve it. Corruption flourishes, and the light is shined not on the problems but on those trying to expose the problems.
Make no mistake; Charlie Kirk is dead because the people who ought to be in prison are currently roaming free. This is the principle we must understand. Without accountability, we live under the illusion of freedom. Unless this changes soon and people are held to account, more people are going to die, and it will be worse than what we saw today.
The question we must ask ourselves: How many more people have to die because we are not doing our part, exposing wrongdoing, allowing or standing by watching those who conspire to undermine the country?
In order for us to change directions, Charlie Kirk’s assassination must ‘light a fire under people who are afraid to act,’ as my friend Lara Logan put it. It does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men. All the things he stood for need to come to fruition or we are just posturing, lying about the legacy he left us we claim to admire.
I often get asked by people in politics, “What outcome do you want?” I find it bizarre to be asked that question by those who claim to have a duty to public service. Lost in our politics is any semblance of right and wrong. Ideally, the motive should not be the pursuit of power, but to better society, to shame the devil, to fight knavery, to knock the bleeding crap out of those destroying the country!
“What matters is your relationship with the truth.” Charlie said. The legacy of Charlie Kirk is therefore; Good people must fight for the right things for the right reasons. To do this we must dig deep and fight for what we love, and to do that we must fight a battle within ourselves. The battle, Roseanne Barr once told me, is within us.
We must choose to love others as we love ourselves. Greater love has no more than this, than a man to lay down his life for his friends. That’s what Christ did for us. That’s what Charlie did for us this week. Charlie enters the gates of heaven with shouts of “Well done, Charlie!” Charlie taught me to expose evil and hold it to account for no other purpose than because the truth is important and it is the right thing to do.
Of course, this is the Dream of the Ridiculous man; “And yet this is merely an old truth, repeated and read a billion times, but still it has never taken root!” (Dostoevsky).
I believe Charlie Kirk’s death is the seed that will finally allow this concept to take root. There will be people who want to stand up and want to stand down. Jesse Waters pleaded that you can either take that message and crawl into a corner and shut up or you can do what Charlie wanted you to do and speak louder. The future of this nation will be determined on what choice you make.
There are those that deny the reality of this evil itself. But it is a fact that Charlie Kirk now belongs in the hearts of every single American fighting against those who are undermining the country. The future of this nation, and our own survival will depend upon what choice you make.
God was using Charlie to wake this generation up and despite the assassin’s bullet to his throat — God will continue to use his voice. A million more Charlie Kirks will now be born.
We look forward to working together to fight evil that exists in this world – and to send a message that the politics of fear will not prevail in the united states of America.”

“Trump’s 18-0 Winning Streak At SCOTUS Underscores The Problem Of Rogue Judges — President Trump can expect to win many more reversals of flawed lower court rulings that liberal judges are rendering against him.”
The Federalist, By: John and Andy Schlafly, September 12, 2025
EXCERPT: “No NFL team in the last 50 years has had a perfect season, but this is Trump’s record in the U.S. Supreme Court: 18-0. His splendid solicitor general, John Sauer, has racked up 18 wins this year by staying lower court decisions against Trump and thereby allowing the president to exercise the full “executive power” granted by Article II of the Constitution.
These victories have been on emergency applications to the Supreme Court, where it is difficult to obtain the justices’ attention and even more challenging to prevail. Also called the “shadow docket,” these wins by Trump have come quickly, without oral argument, often by a 6-3 or greater margin.
Seven of these wins have been on deporting illegal aliens, five on firing unnecessary federal workers, four on terminating wasteful federal spending, one on ending transgender personnel in the military, and one on stopping the epidemic of nationwide injunctions by district court judges.
On Monday, Chief Justice John Roberts granted a stay to Trump, as requested by Sauer, of a D.C. Circuit ruling that had blocked Trump from removing a commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission. Despite being on the court’s traditional summer vacation until it returns later this month, Roberts granted Trump’s request on the second business day after it was filed.
L.A. Ruling
An even bigger victory for Trump came on Monday from the Supreme Court when it stayed a Ninth Circuit ruling that had blocked Trump’s deportation campaign in Los Angeles County, where an estimated 10 percent of its 10 million residents are illegal. Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote a concurrence agreeing with Sauer’s argument that ethnicity can be relevant in deciding whether to investigate someone’s immigration status.
Kavanaugh explained that Supreme Court precedent and common sense allow “apparent ethnicity” to be a “relevant factor” to be considered by immigration officials, not alone but in conjunction with other relevant factors, in forming a “reasonable suspicion” sufficient to justify a so-called Terry stop. Further investigation is then required before arresting or deporting a suspect.
This does not mean that Hispanics or any other group can be deported based on their ethnicity, but merely that ethnicity can be one of several factors justifying further investigation. “Importantly, reasonable suspicion means only that immigration officers may briefly stop the individual and inquire about immigration status,” Kavanaugh explained.
Indeed, a recent immigration raid occurred at a Hyundai electric vehicle plant in Georgia, where illegal aliens from South Korea were caught, identified, and detained. Congress should investigate how hundreds of these illegal aliens migrated here.
The Hyundai raid also cast doubt on the premise that foreign car manufacturers are helping Americans by locating a few plants here. In this case, the manufacturing jobs were going to illegal aliens from the country of the foreign competitor.
Other Cases
Trump has been winning in federal appellate courts, too. On Monday, in Maryland v. USDA, a 2-1 Republican majority on a panel in the Fourth Circuit ruled in favor of Trump on his authority “to lay off thousands of probationary employees across multiple federal agencies.” The Democrat on the panel dissented……”

EXCERPT: “When facts emerged suggesting the assassin of Charlie Kirk may be yet another deranged Antifa or transgenderism extremist, CNN immediately went to great lengths to cover the murderer’s reported political sympathies.
According to authorities, as reported by the Wall Street Journal, the assassin’s gun contained ammunition inscribed with phrases supporting “transgender” and “antifascist” ideology. In an apparent attempt to hide that information, CNN decided to run with a headline describing the bullets as having been “scrawled with cultural phrases.”
The chyron CNN ran on television said the same: “Phrases Related to Cultural Issues Were Scrawled on Rifle.”
Probably worse is that CNN said the bullets were inscribed with a “range of phrases related to cultural issues” (emphasis added) so it could launder the idea that “it’s not yet clear if they point to a motivation in the attack.” No. The assassin’s likely motivations are quite clear. Kirk was famous for his conservative and Christian views. That would be an obvious top motivator for someone to assassinate him in such a public and deliberate fashion…..”

For those that haven’t seen this breaking news: 22-year-old Tyler Robinson is currently in custody for the assassination of Charlie Kirk, after his Father and Minister Turned Him In!
“Charlie Kirk wasn’t killed because he spoke. He was killed because our children listened.”
“The memes are a little difficult this week – on one hand, we have all seen so many Charlie Kirk tributes and memes. What more can be said or read? This sadness is here in our hearts, and it is not going away any time soon.
But on the other hand, other news and memes seem trivial in comparison. But maybe we all just need to relax and laugh a bit. So here goes…”

Just The News: “Local authorities in Colorado on Thursday identified the alleged shooter responsible for the shooting at Evergreen High School as 16-year-old Desmond Holly, who was a student at the school.
The shooting occurred just after noon local time on Wednesday, and two students were injured in the incident. Both remain in critical condition as of Thursday afternoon. Holly allegedly died Wednesday of self-inflicted injuries, the New York Times reported.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jacki Kelley told reporters that Holly appeared to have been “radicalized by an extremist network,” but did not expand on what the network was, or describe what it stood for. Kelley also said Holly brought “quite a bit of ammunition with him” to the school and that one student was shot inside the school and one was shot outside of it. The school is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Denver.
“I have to believe when you bring a gun to school, and you continue to fire and reload, and fire and reload, that you are on a mission,” Kelley said. “We’re very, very grateful that there were not more injuries, but saddened that there were any.”
One of the victims has been identified as 18-year-old Matthew Silverstone, but the family of the second victim did not wish to reveal their loved one’s name.
Kelley said that the school will remain closed for the remainder of the week, and likely into next week. “I can’t praise the staff and the students enough for doing what they learned to do,” she said. “They did the right thing. They locked down.”
The shooting occurred the same day that conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at a college in Utah. There has been no evidence that the two shootings are linked.”

Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Thursday approved $32 million in flood relief for North Carolina, which suffered significant flooding earlier this year and has struggled to recover from a devastating hurricane last fall.
“I am proud to approve nearly $32 Million Dollars in assistance for the Great State of North Carolina, which I WON BIG all six times, including Primaries, in response to their recent flooding events in July,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Senator Tedd Budd, future Senator Michael Whatley, and all of our incredible North Carolina Republicans have asked for this, and I am happy to do it — North Carolinians deserve it.”
“I just notified Governor Stein, and I fully expect he will make sure the funds are used to help the State recover quickly. The last Democrat Governor, Roy Cooper, who now wants to be Senator, did a terrible job with all of the Storms and massive Water Damage to the State,” he added. “We came in on January 20th, and did a great job of bringing North Carolina BACK. Michael Whatley and Ted Budd were of great help. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The state has been in the news in recent days over the stabbing of Iryna Zarutska on a Charlotte metro. Trump has consistently weighed in on North Carolina politics, notably increasing his interest after former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley announced his senatorial campaign.”

“They caught him. What we know so far.”
Techno Fog, Sep 12, 2025
“They caught him. Tyler Robinson, age 22 from Utah – first confirmed by the New York Post. A former student at Utah State. That’s the man who assassinated Charlie Kirk. Robinson’s father (reported to be current or former law enforcement, depending on the source) turned in his son with the help of a youth pastor. His booking photos, seen above, were released by Utah authorities this morning.
33 hours to catch a killer. According to FBI Director Kash Patel, Robinson was taken into custody at approximately 10pm last night.
That might seem like an eternity in the age of social media, but consider what authorities and investigators had to go with: no clear photo of the suspect’s face (surveillance footage provided no clear view, with his face obscured by a hat and sunglasses) and the necessity to rely on the public for identification. And they were inundated with information, with over 7,000 leads called-in or submitted online, hours upon hours of video footage to be reviewed from multiple sources (UVU, area homes, area businesses, etc.), phone and internet records, the physical location and the fingerprint and DNA evidence, etc. As one official said, it was “a vast, complicated, and a very, very fast-paced investigation” that spanned essentially the whole state of Utah.
All things considered, 33 hours is relatively quick. Remember that it took authorities 5 days to capture Luigi Mangione, the killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson – and in the Mangione case, they had better images.
Much of what we know is based on this morning’s press conference with Utah and federal officials. On the evening of September 11, Tyler Robinson’s father reached out to a family friend (the youth pastor), who contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (Utah) with information that Robinson had essentially confessed that he was responsible for Charlie Kirk’s murder. It took convincing from his father to turn himself in.
Officials were able to identify Robinson arriving to the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus in a Dodge Challenger on the morning of September 10, the date of the shooting. When encountered by investigators this early morning, September 12, Robinson was observed with clothing consistent with that footage. From the time he got out of the car to the time of the shooting, he had changed clothes – going from shorts and a t-shirt to a long black shirt and dark pants. The change of clothes was in his backpack. ‘
According to a family member, Robinson had become more political – more liberal – in these last few years. At a recent family dinner, Robinson had mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU and discussed why he didn’t like Kirk and how Kirk was full of hate.
At some point after the initial identification of Robinson, investigator’s interviewed Robinson’s Utah State roommate. The roommate showed investigators Discord messages where Robinson stated:
By all accounts, the roommate could have prevented Charlie Kirk’s murder by notifying authorities. And he certainly could have, on his own, notified authorities that Robinson was responsible for the killing. It appears to be the case that these two shared political sympathies and a hatred for Charlie Kirk. Why else allow the murder to go forward?
As to the writing on the casings, it has been revealed:
Social media has filled in other gaps. Robinson came from an intact and apparently loving family. They are said to be conservative. His parents were proud; his mother’s Facebook page was filled with family photos.
He was a boy scout and raised around firearms. He was bright – having a 4.0 gpa in high school, a 34 on the ACT (out of a possible 36), and a scholarship to college. (Hat tip to X user bobbythebishop for those finds.)
But even the brightest are impressionable. Even the smartest of the young – at least smart on paper – can be, and are, radicalized. Perhaps it was a combination of university and online influences, as the messages on the casings strongly suggest he was moderately, if not terminally, online. Online radicalization might be the more likely scenario, as Utah State just released a statement that Robinson “briefly attended Utah State University for one semester in 2021.”
No matter where the influences came from, however, Tyler Robinson was given every opportunity and he chose leftist extremism to the point of murder.
That’s the danger of the rhetoric against conservatives. The discerning can see through it. But the impressionable are willing to take it to the logical conclusion. Even if it means destroying their lives, and destroying the lives of their families, in the process.”

The B-58 Blunder: How the U.S. Abandoned its Best Strategic Bomber
“The author flew in this supersonic bomber and was the B-58 subject matter expert in the Pentagon. He tells the true story of how the B-58 came to a premature death in the U.S. military, largely because of infighting among military and civilian leaders. It was a technological marvel for its time and the very best pilots and navigators were chosen to fly this unique aircraft. At its maximum speed of 2.2 Mach (1,452 mph) it was 2½ times faster than the muzzle velocity of a .45 caliber bullet. It could fly faster and out turn must fighters of its day undetectable by enemy radars due to its speed and low radar cross section and was better at flying through heavy turbulence due to its solid delta wing design. It had a highly accurate navigation and bombing system and had a capsule and was also capable of flying close to tree top level just below the speed of sound.”

Just The News: “Missouri’s Republican-led Senate on Friday passed its redistricting map, officially sending the new congressional map to Republican Gov. Mike Kehoe’s desk for his signature.
The map passed the state House on Tuesday, after Kehoe called for a special session of the state legislature to join the redistricting push that has erupted in several states over the summer. California and Texas are the two primary states looking at redistricting, with California hoping to pass a map that offsets gains in Texas.
The Missouri map creates another Republican district which could give the GOP another potential seat in the 2026 midterms.
The map targets the state’s fifth congressional district, currently held by Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver. Republicans hold seats in six of Missouri’s eight districts and the new map would favor the GOP in seven districts.”
