National New Hampshire Day!

This article on USNews lists 25 fun things to do in New Hampshire.  I’m only bringing a few, but check out the link at the end to see more if you’re so inclined!

From USNews:

New Hampshire may be a small state, but it’s packed full of attractions and activities for visitors. From its 18 miles of coastline to the centrally located Lakes Region to the looming White Mountains up north, New Hampshire offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation. Then there are the unique and family-friendly amusement parks, historic sites and thought-provoking museums to explore while vacationing in the Granite State.

With skiing in the winter, summer fun by the lakes and leaf peeping in the fall, this state is a year-round destination. Here are some of the best things to do and see in New Hampshire.

McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center

Concord’s must-visit McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center honors two New Hampshire residents: Alan B. Shepard Jr., who in 1961 was the first American to travel into space, and Christa McAuliffe, a teacher aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger that tragically exploded just after it launched in 1986. Visitors to this family-friendly attraction can learn about space travel and science through hands-on exhibits, demonstrations and planetarium shows.

Concord, the capital of New Hampshire, has plenty of hotel chains and budget-friendly lodging. If you’re looking for something different and historic, consider The Centennial Hotel, located in a 19th-century Victorian mansion.

Santa’s Village

Just as the name suggests,Christmas-themed Santa’s Village is a celebration of the jolly old fellow himself, as well as all things that make the holiday special, from elves and reindeer to sleighs and sweet treats. Family-friendly rides at this amusement park in Jefferson include the Reindeer Carousel, Christmas Ferris Wheel, Santa’s Express Train and Yule Log Flume. There’s also a water park that’s open in the summer, with slides, gentle fountains of water and water spray zones.

Visitors have noted how clean and charming this amusement park is. Typically Santa’s Village is open daily in the summer, with limited weekend hours in the late spring and from Labor Day through Christmas. Be sure to check the Santa’s Village website for operating hours before you visit. One budget-friendly option for overnighting nearby is the Coos Motor Inn in Lancaster, located just over 5 miles north.

Polar Caves

The Polar Caves in Rumney were formed by a moving glacier 50,000 years ago. Visitors can pass through nine distinct boulder caves on a self-guided tour, while enjoying the cooler temperatures on a hot summer day. Squeeze through the many named granite spaces and features, such as Orange Crush and the narrow path of Devil’s Turnpike. The caves are linked by a series of wooden boardwalks and stairs, and all cave entry is optional.

Be prepared to crawl, twist and get a little dirty if you choose to make your way through the natural obstacles, say past travelers. Visitors can also feed the fallow deer and ducks at the on-site animal park. Polar Caves is open seasonally, from mid-May through mid-October. Nearby Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Plymouth White Mountains offers daily free breakfast.

Kancamagus Highway

The Kancamagus Highway is a 34.5-mile National Scenic Byway that stretches from Lincoln to Conway in the White Mountains. This portion of state Route 112 is a wildly popular scenic drive in the autumn for its plentiful vistas of colorful fall foliage. Many pull-off points allow for stretching legs along this curvy, wooded highway, where you can take in views of mountains, waterfalls and rivers. Plan a stop at Russell-Colbath Historic Site, a museum that demonstrates what life in the region might have been like in the 19th century.

Along the highway, there are also parking lots at trailheads that allow you to traverse through the woods on foot. Past road-trippers note that cell service is very limited in this remote area. You won’t really find any motels or hotels along this stretch of rural road that reaches 2,855 feet in elevation, though there are several White Mountain National Forest campgrounds right off of the highway as well as many overnight options in Lincoln and Conway.

Portsmouth

Explore the charming Seacoast city of Portsmouth. Stroll the brick sidewalks of its lively downtown – featuring a vibrant restaurant scene, galleries, shops and historic buildings. Picnic or relax on a bench in 10-acre waterfront Prescott Park among gorgeous gardens and summer events like concerts, movies and theater performances. History lovers will enjoy hopping aboard the USS Albacore Museum, a decommissioned submarine that set a world record for speed in the 1960s. Or, opt for a tour of the Moffatt-Ladd House & Garden, a Georgian-style mansion that once housed General William Whipple, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Though many attractions in town are seasonal, wintertime visitors still find plenty to delight in as Portsmouth has been named one of the prettiest and coziest towns in America to visit during the winter. Each year, the town’s holiday festivities include a vintage trolley shuttle, an ice skating rink, a candlelight stroll, a gingerbread house contest and exhibition, and more. For lodging, consider the luxurious Wentworth by the Sea; The Inn Downtown, a boutique apartment-hotel with chic rooms in an early 19th-century building; or Ale House Inn, housed in a former brewery warehouse from the 1800s.

as soon as I turned on the light, a hummer came and sat on the chain waiting for me to hang out the feeders–so they’re still here…lol

    1. Good morning, Pat! 44 here this morning and clear – no Wheezer. Nah on the football – I’m done with it. It’s waaay too complicated & politicized now, just like Nascar. There’s no honor any more, just like with my Huskers.

Yes, Donald Trump made the statement: “Looks like we’ve lost India and Russia to deepest, darkest, China. May they have a long and prosperous future together!”. He posted this on his social media platform, Truth Social, on September 5, 2025, alongside a photo of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin.

The comment reflected his reaction to the visible camaraderie among the three leaders during the summit. However, later the same day, Trump told reporters he did not believe the U.S. had actually lost India to China.

ALERT: Sharia Patrols Arrive in Houston…

Imam Threatens Boycotts of Muslim Businesses

Masjid At-Tawhid in Houston, a tax-exempt Nation of Islam mosque, is escalating beyond preaching.

The mosque proudly flies the Palestinian flag outside its building and maintains a private security force in uniforms resembling Houston police officers. I

ts Imam, F. Qasim ibn Ali Khan—recognizable by his dyed red-orange beard—has launched a campaign to pressure Muslim-owned stores into following Sharia.

Why it matters: In Islam, dyeing the beard is rooted in hadith instructing Muslims to distinguish themselves from non-believers.

Today, the henna-red beard is widely seen as a marker of strict Sharia adherence, adopted by hardline preachers and militant figures.

In a video, Khan warns store managers that if they sell pork, alcohol, or lottery tickets, they will face boycotts and public demonstrations.

“Toward the end of this month, we’re kicking off a national protest… against all Muslim businesses that have haram in their stores,” he declares.

This is the classic playbook of Sharia “patrols”: first bringing Muslims into line, then extending pressure to the wider community.

Khan states plainly: “We should love what Allah loves, and hate what Allah hates.”

In Islamic texts, that goes beyond products – it targets people.

Europe has already lived through this. Shops were threatened, women harassed, and neighborhoods turned into Sharia-enforced zones.

Now, the same tactics are emerging in Houston – openly, on camera, and under the protection of tax-exempt status.

This is how parallel societies form.

This is how Sharia zones take root.

    This is how freedom erodes.

Where are Texas leaders? What starts in Houston won’t stay in Houston.

  5. Just The News: “Pope Leo XIV canonized two modern saints in a landmark ceremony at St. Peter’s Square on Sunday in keeping with his vision for a Catholic Church that resonates with young people.

Carlo Acutis, who was a 15-year-old computer whiz who died of leukemia in 2006, has become the first millennial saint in Catholic history. According to Reuters, he was best known for his creation of a multilingual website chronicling Eucharistic miracles, leading to the nickname “God’s Influencer.” His canonization drew roughly 70,000 to 80,000 people.

Pier Giorgio Frassati, an activist from Turin who died in 1925 at 24 years of age, was also elevated to sainthood. He was known for his dedication to the poor, Vatican News reported.”

Just The News: “The South Korean government announced on Sunday that it reached a deal with the United States to secure the release and repatriation of over 300 of its citizens who were detained during a sweeping U.S. immigration enforcement action at a Hyundai manufacturing plant in Georgia.

A charter flight will be arranged when all administrative steps are finalized, according to presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik.

The immigration enforcement operation took place on Thursday when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 475 individuals, mostly Korean nationals, at a Hyundai electric vehicle battery plant shared with LG Energy Solution near Ellabell, Georgia.

The Guardian reported that the operation was the largest workplace immigration raid targeting a single site in the history of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.”

  7. DANG IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been watching the LAST hand of grapes on the grapevines (too high for the raccoons to reach from the ground and the plants themselves are too thin to hold the raccoons) waiting to see them turn pink. this morning? the entire hand was gone! either a bear got them or the raccoons held one of them up while the other tore the hand from the vine. (LOL)

      1. we’re going to take down the rest of the fencing later this month. I was just watching that last hand of grapes–hoping they would make it…LOL

yeah…we’ve given up on the fencing. it’ll be easier to maintain (mowing, weed eating etc) till the animals totally destroy it or we rip them out.

  8. “In a bold new stance, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is advocating for the abolition of property taxes, promising voters the chance to “take action” soon. DeSantis remarked: “People should not be taxed for owning the home they’ve already paid for. That’s not freedom – it’s paying rent to the government.”

The move aims to shift power back to homeowners and eliminate what many see as government overreach. Ending property taxes could be a critical step toward economic freedom, especially for retirees, middle-class families, and small landowners.”

  9. “According to a recent YouGov poll, California Governor Gavin Newsom leads JD Vance by 8 points in the 2028 presidential race, but this is hardly a reason for conservatives to panic. Newsom may have the edge now, but it’s clear that America is looking for a true conservative voice to reclaim the White House. With his far-left agenda and disastrous policies, Newsom’s lead is far from insurmountable. Conservatives need to rally behind JD Vance and ensure America stays on the right track.”

The George Washington Bridge in the early 1950s – traffic on the left side is traveling to Fort Lee, New Jersey, and the traffic on the right is driving to New York City. Can you imagine living a life where you’d have to go through this kinda shit every day? Here we are 70+ years later and it looks exactly the same…

      1. I think it was something that came out when the asswipes were grilling RFKJ – I assume they made claims of it causing autism. I used Tylenol now and then in the past – mostly for hangovers/headaches or pain from an injury but I haven’t needed it for years.

        Liked by 1 person

  11. “For those that ignorantly argue that Acetaminophen has been around since the 1950s, without a rise in autism – until recently, “proving” without looking at the HHS data, that Secretary Kennedy must be wrong about the link with Acetaminophen and autism:

Some facts – The use of Acetaminophen before and after vaccination of children was not recommended until the 1980s.

Nor was Acetaminophen the recommended NSAID for pregnant women until the 1970s.

    Timeline and Recommendations

    • By the 1980s-1990s: Acetaminophen became widely used for post-vaccination fever and pain relief in children as a standard part of aftercare.
    • 2000s: Official vaccine information statements (such as the CDC’s DTaP VIS last updated in 2007) included recommendations to use antipyretics like acetaminophen for 24 hours after vaccination to manage discomfort.
    • Late 2000s-Present: New research, including the pivotal Prymula et al. study, suggested prophylactic use might blunt immune response, resulting in newer guidelines discouraging routine prophylactic use—but still supporting therapeutic use if a child is in pain or develops a fever after vaccination.

Tylenol (acetaminophen) began to be widely recommended as the preferred pain reliever for pregnant women by the 1970s and 1980s, as concerns grew about the safety of alternatives like aspirin and NSAIDs during pregnancy.

So, yes – Acetaminophen has been around since the 1950s, but no – it has not been the drug of choice during pregnancy or for use during vaccination of children until much more recently…

Now, I have not seen the HHS report – but I do know that to prejudge a scientific report before it has been distributed doesn’t seem like science.

Furthermore, the HHS report apparently just confirms the overwhelming body of previously published peer reviewed literature linking Acetaminophen use and autism. In other words, the actual science supports the hypothesis of use linkage in this context to development of clinical autism.”

  12. IDK why these companies have to make things so fricking complicated! I need to replace the line on my new weed eater – they always come with smaller amounts – but can’t for the life of me figure out the instructions!!! I’m going to have to go back to Bomgaars and have someone show me how to do it, unless I can find someone here – maybe at the FS gas station….. At least B&D’s are simple and easy to figure out!!!

    Liked by 1 person

      1. OK – I found a video – same model and the guy had the same problems I am having – but he was able to keep twisting the cap and it came off eventually – same instructions that were NOT accurate – but I don’t have the strength and even tho I twisted and twisted and twisted and twisted….I could never get the cap off. I am returning it to the store and either they show me an easier way to do it or I am returning the weed eater. This is BS!!!!

        Liked by 1 person

          1. There’s a white spot on a tiny “window” at the base of the cap that supposedly will turn black when it is unlocked….but it never turns black, either for the guy in the video or for me. I’m headed back to the store now….

            Liked by 1 person

              1. LOL! Talk about fortuitous timing!!! I went in and asked to have someone come out and look at it; they called an older man to come up front and we went out to my truck – he had a hell of a time trying to get it off, too, but he finally was able to do it. But he agreed that it wasn’t the tool for me and said they would just mark it as “defective” and send it back to the manufacturer.

We went inside and were waiting for the clerk at the register to finish a sale she was ringing up….for an identical weed eater as the one I was returning! It was an older couple and the guy told me it was an Xmas gift for his wife, that they preferred gas but he had leukemia now and couldn’t pull the start cord. I commented that I wasn’t strong enough for that either and mentioned that I hoped his wife was stronger than me – IDT he heard that comment, tho.

I told the guy who was assisting me that I preferred Black & Decker and he said they usually carried them but were out at the moment. So I said I’ll wait until next spring then and buy one when I come here to get my spring flowers.

The couple at the register departed and another worker came up to show the gal on the register how to mark the return and I mentioned how much I liked the B&D weed eaters – she said she loved hers! I also told her I would come back next spring when they had some in stock and she said, “Oh, there’s one back there!” She had been trying to convince the older couple to take that one instead of the DeWalt but he insisted he wanted it….so I now have another B&D weed eater with the type of cap that is easy to remove when I need to put in a new spool of line, which I already have on-hand!!!

YEAH!!!! Can you believe it??!!?? I was sooooo happy!!! And it was the same price!!! Easy-peasy switcheroo!

READ THIS, REPOST IT PLEASE every time you see someone trying to justify what Hyundai did.

I just spent the last few days outside the Hyundai plant in Savannah. Between local, state, and federal incentives Hyundai rec’d $10B. They, in turn, promised good paying jobs for AMERICANS. The local and state government sold it to the ppl of GA and locals as JOBS in exchange for a massive industrial complex in the middle of farmland and southern pine tree farms. They installed hideous European traffic circles on the exit interchanges that don’t really accommodate semis and it was hilarious to watch them navigate it. Keep in mind it’s for an industrial plant.

So in exchange for sitting quietly by and watching their local community drastically change so they and their children had a chance at high paying jobs the community, they watched dumbfounded as S Korean after S Korean flooded their community. It’s a small community outside of Savannah. The mayor knew. The city council knew.

There was suddenly a shortage of housing. They didn’t speak English. The entire county only has 40,000 ppl in it. According to the 2020 census, it was the 6th fastest growing county in America. No one blinked an eye. The secret was hidden in the census THAT COUNTS ILLEGALS which is why citizenship MUST be a part of the census. Dark to light. Turn the lights on.

It took one brave local person to be vocal about what was happening to have a national impact as .@GenFlynn
      always says.

For those ignorant ppl who are posting on here that it’s Hyundai and they didn’t know or it’s S Korea blah blah blah. False. They do it in S Korea. S Korea has illegal immigration issues. Many of the illegal aliens in S Korea are supporting the LG owned appliance industry and the LG car manufacturers (Hyundai’s parent company). They knew exactly what they were doing. They even tried to get visas for many but they were not granted bc the whole idea was to provide manufacturing jobs for AMERICANS. So their answer wasn’t to hire Americans it was to hire illegal aliens from S Koreas who routinely work an entire month with 2 days off. That was was the preferred route. Illegal aliens employed in S Korea do not get the same perks as legal citizens. They know that. Not a mistake, not unintentional. Biden gave them $5b incentive AND opened the border for their illegal workers.

      Even the union, .@AFLCIOGeorgia
spoke up supporting Hyundai hiring illegal aliens. They are not your friend. As a note on this particular union, AFL-CIO works with NED on CIA efforts overseas to ensure locals can not unionize against US oligarchs exploiting foreign country’s workforce. That’s why they were given their own pot of money in NED. This is a historical fact.

See something, say something. Save America.

Bookmark this and repost it every time someone tries to justify the unjustifiable.

Not The Bee, Davy Crockett, Sep 6, 2025

Image for article: Missouri raid results in arrest of 20 illegal aliens and the two restaurant owners who harbored them

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “This is one of the first immigration raids we’ve seen with this result. Not that 20 illegal aliens were arrested in the joint FBI and ICE raid. But that we actually saw the people who illegally hired and harbored the aliens arrested as well.

This is how you get change. From KSDK in nearby St. Louis:

5 On Your Side has since obtained documents from the Eastern District Court of Missouri detailing charges for two people arrested in the raid, identified as De Jin Ye and Guo Liang Ye. Both are facing charges relating to the illegal concealment, harboring, and shielding of immigrants from federal detection. The charges carry a potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $250,000 …

Guo Liang Ye is also listed as the manager of Golden Apple Buffet in St. Charles, which is about 12 minutes away from the St. Peters home.

One witness said a group of employees would come to work in a van. A van was parked outside the St. Peters home.

Not only were these illegal aliens working at the restaurant, they were being housed in the home of the restaurant owners after being brought into the country illegally.

It’s no wonder the grand jury was willing to take on these people. It’s a pretty egregious case of flouting US law.

We’ll see if the charges stick. This could be a major turning point in immigration enforcement.”

Not The Bee, Harriet Rigby, Sep 6, 2025

Image for article: This woman was surprised to discover that the Airbnb she booked on her Italian vacation was her father's childhood home

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Well, this is a wild coincidence. Maria Florencia was traveling from her home in Argentina to her father’s birthplace of Castel San Lorenzo, Italy. The aim of her trip was to explore the place her dad called home, so she booked an Airbnb with a 5-star review and ‘Superhosts’ named Margherita and Enza in the medieval Italian village.

When she arrived, she was shocked to find out that the Airbnb was her dad’s literal home.

She brought along with her family pictures from her dad’s childhood in Castel San Lorenzo, including pictures of his house.

The owners of the Airbnb had bought the property from Florencia’s grandparents and were able to further confirm that this was, in fact, the same house. The Airbnb hosts were able to help their guest discover a bit of local history, and some of her personal family history during the course of her trip.

Florencia left the Superhosts another 5-star review to keep up the property’s perfect score, with just the tiniest mention of the fun coincidence.

I’d say that 5-star review was definitely well deserved in this case.”
