50 Strangest Unsolved Mysteries
- The Body on Somerton Beach

In December 1948, a body was found on Somerton Beach in Adelaide, Australia. The body was a man who was dressed impeccably in a suit with polished shoes and his head was slumped against a wall. Authorities thought the cause of death was heart failure or more likely poisoning but, no trace of poison was found in the autopsy.
There wasn’t a wallet or any type of identification on the man and all the tags from his clothing were cut out. The fingerprints that the authorities took of him were also unidentifiable. They even put a photo of the body in the newspapers and still, no one could identify who the man was. Four months later after the body was found, detectives found a hidden pocket that was sewn on the inside of his trousers. Inside the pocket was a rolled-up piece of paper from a rare book called the Rubáiyát. The piece of paper had the words “Tamám Shud” on it which means “it has ended.” After months of looking for the exact book, authorities decide to bury the Somerton Man without identification. Although a cast was taken of the bust and he was embalmed to preserve him.

Eight months later, a man walked into the police station. He claimed that just after the body was found, he found a copy of the Rubáiyát in the back of his car that he kept parked near Somerton Beach. He thought nothing of it until he read about the search in a newspaper article. Sure enough, the book had a part of the final page that was torn and it matched the piece of paper that was found in the Somerton Man’s trousers. Inside the book were a phone number and some sort of strange code.
The phone number led the authorities to a woman named Jessica Thompson who lived nearby. During her interview, she was very evasive and even claimed she was going to faint when she saw the bust of the Somerton Man but denied knowing him. However, she said she did sell the book to a man named Alfred Boxall. Unfortunately, Alfred Boxall was still very much alive at the time and still had the copy of the Rubáiyát that Jessica had sold him. The code that was found ended up being even more unhelpful and as of today, it has still yet to be cracked.
To this day, the man on Somerton Beach has yet to be identified.

SOLVED?
From: sciencetimes.com:
Many theories circulated suggested that the individual known as Somerton Man was either a Cold War spy or a betrayed lover.
However, a researcher claims to have solved the puzzle after more than 70 years. According to Professor Derek Abbott of the University of Adelaide, Somerton Man was Carl Webb. Furthermore, he was an electrical engineer from Melbourne, not a Russian agent.
Together with American genealogist Colleen Fitzpatrick, Abbott conducted her research. The two examined DNA evidence from hairs found in a plaster cast that detectives had created of the man’s face more than 50 years prior.
Fitzpatrick explained that she and Abbott began their search for Abbott’s relative by building his family tree, starting with a match in a DNA database (a so-called DNA-cousin to Somerton guy). They continued this process until they located Abbott’s relative.
At the time, the family tree included roughly 4,000 people. They calculated that Webb was born in 1905, but according to Abbott, he was eventually recognized “as a person with no death record.”
Abbott added that they had proof that the Melbourne guy’s wife went to South Australia and that he split from her, so it’s possible he came to find her.
Fitzpatrick said the finding solved the decades-long mystery. This has been one of the most intriguing cases in Australia’s history, and identifying the man as Webb will also unravel the mysteries surrounding his death.
How Did the Somerton Man Died?
After examining the Somerton man, the physician concluded that the guy had passed away from heart failure sometime after two in the morning. However, the physician did not think that the heart failure was a natural cause. He concluded that the mystery guy had been poisoned with a toxin that was both fast-acting and fast-disappearing, making it impossible to find the source.
For his part, Professor Abbott thinks that some of the case’s most peculiar elements might not be as weird as they first seem. He doesn’t think the Somerton Man was poisoned, for example.
According to him, pathologists in the Victorian age were trained that if there were no apparent reason for the death, they would often recommend a poison. He noted that there was no evidence of poisoning, so it would not be accurate to conclude that it was the case.
He added that the man’s spleen was three times larger than it should have been during the autopsy. The doctor surmised that the man may have died from cancer, bacterial or viral infections, or positional asphyxia, among other possible causes of death.

Good morning! It’s 59 here – we got a downpour during the night and it looks like more may be on the way. Wheezer was waiting as usual, altho he’s moved back to the original chair. Usually, he departs after he’s eaten but he’s back on the chair snoozing today. I’ve got my VA checkup today, then grocery shopping and a stop at the CH to renew the registration on my truck. So I’ll be gone a good part of the day – leaving around 10 AM.
I watched a show about this guy on Unsolved Mysteries a couple of years ago. I got a lot of my ideas for opens from that show but I don’t think I did one about this guy.

“The Rats are Being Cornered”
Clandestine, Aug 25, 2025
“IL Governor JB Pritzker tells Trump that he does not want the US MIL to help secure his crime-ridden city, Chicago. Pritzker claims its government overreach and a military takeover.
The Dems are quadrupling down on supporting crime and violence.
Why? Only answer… corruption. There is no other logical conclusion the Dems would deny Trump stopping murders and violent crime in Chicago. They are corrupt, and they just admitted it.
Pritzker and the Dems also know that once Trump has the NG deployed in their corrupt cities, that means that their go-to playbook of organized protests and riots will be useless. Their regime-change/color revolution playbook is being neutralized.
The rats are being cornered, and they know it. Expect to see a lot more panic.”

Just The News: “House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., on Monday issued a subpoena to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein’s estate as part of an investigation into potential mismanagement by the federal government looking into Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.
“It is our understanding that the Estate of Jeffrey Epstein is in custody and control of documents that may further the Committee’s investigation and legislative goals,” Comer said in a press release. “Further, it is our understanding the Estate is ready and willing to provide these documents to the Committee pursuant to a subpoena.”
Comer requested the delivery of the documents before or by Sept. 8.
You can read the letter here: 2025.08.25 Subpoena Cover Letter to Epstein Estate.pdf
Last week, the Justice Department officially delivered the first batch of Epstein files to Congress, which the House Oversight Committee will review.
Epstein died in prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. He pleaded guilty to similar state-level charges in Florida in 2008. Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex-trafficking and other charges in connection with her procurement of minors for Epstein’s indulgence.”

Just The News: “The Colorado legislature has passed a bill that funds Medicaid reimbursements for Planned Parenthood and others who provide reproductive healthcare services, including abortions. The Colorado House voted 43-19 Sunday in favor of Senate Bill 25B-2, following the Senate’s approval Friday. The bill now goes to Democratic Gov. Jared Polis for his signature.
The Democratic majorities in the two houses support the bill. Republicans oppose it because of its approximately $4.4 million cost for the current fiscal year, a number cited by the nonpartisan Legislative Council Staff.
SB 25B-2 directs the state Department of Health Care Policy and Financing to use money from the state’s General Fund to provide Medicaid reimbursements to entities that are denied money from the federal government. The bill is a response to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which cut federal funding of Medicaid reimbursements for reproductive health care providers such as Planned Parenthood.
The Colorado legislation was essential to protecting Coloradans’ right to care, said Jack Teter, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains’ vice president of government affairs, in a statement.”

IMO, the system needs to be changed – the number of reps needs to be in direct proportion to how the people voted! If 50% of them voted Republican, then 50% of the seats should be R – same for the dem party. It’s the only fair way to do it!!! Then no-one could gerrymander!!!
Just The News: “A judge on Monday ordered the Republican-dominated Utah legislature to redraw its congressional map ahead of the 2026 midterms, after the body appeared to ignore safeguards voters put in place to ensure districts aren’t gerrymandered.
The Congressional map, which was drawn in 2021, divided the Democratic Salt Lake County into the state’s four districts, which diluted Democratic influence. The districts have since been won by Republican candidates, per the Associated Press.
U.S. District Court Judge Dianna Gibson ruled that the maps need to be redone because state lawmakers ignored an independent commission that was established by voters to limit partisan gerrymandering.
“[The violation lies in] the legislature’s refusal to respect the people’s exercise of their constitutional lawmaking power and to honor the people’s right to reform their government,” Gibson wrote in the ruling.
The ruling comes as redistricting feuds dominate state politics ahead of the midterms. The feud picked up when Texas debated its map, which it adopted last week and potentially gives Republicans five more seats in Congress. California then advanced an effort to redo its map to offset the Republican advances in Texas.
Democratic leaders in New York and Illinois have also floated redoing their maps to help offset Texas’ gains, but Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said his state’s efforts to redo its districts come after blue states were already gerrymandered.”

FINALLY:
Al Sharpton’s so-called “ministries” have lost their tax-exempt status. Why? Because the IRS confirmed what we’ve all known for years: it wasn’t a church. It was a political slush fund dressed up in a collar. Sharpton made millions pretending to preach — while really running a backroom operation of influence, pay-to-play, and backdoor deals. He’s not a minister. He’s a crook in a suit. And now, for the first time, the system actually called him out.

Cook refusing to leave puts the Fed in a difficult position.
If they allow her to continue with her duties as Fed Governor, starting this morning, and the courts find that the President does have the authority to fire her, even if it’s months later during an appeal, anything she does on behalf of the Fed as a Governor starting today will not be valid. And the Fed could be held responsible for allowing a non-employee to continue to act like an employee.
Restated, if the Fed allows her to stay and continue to be a Governor, and the court rules that Trump can fire her (again, even if it is later in an appeal), then Jay Powell has potentially committed a “for-cause” offense for which he could be fired. (allowing a non-Fed employee to make decisions and policy on behalf of the Federal Reserve.)

“If Ukraine Wants Security Guarantees, It Should Get Them From Europe — Trump should make clear that if Europe doesn’t take the lead in supporting Ukraine, they cannot expect the U.S. to once again bail them out. “
The Federalist, By: Dan Caldwell and Justin Logan, August 26, 2025
EXCERPT: “President Donald Trump deserves immense credit for prioritizing diplomacy in pursuit of a resolution to the Russia-Ukraine War. After three and a half years of madness and mayhem in Ukraine, and beneath a volley of overwrought accusations of “Appeasement!” from Democrats, the media, and parts of Europe, Trump has met with both sides of the conflict to discern their positions and try to bring them together to end the killing.
The substantive issues are admittedly tough. The Russians are dug in on territorial concessions and the end of NATO expansion, while the Ukrainians are dug in on security guarantees. Not surprisingly, after three years of brutal conflict, Kyiv wants outside powers to commit to going to war for it if the Russians should invade again. Rightly, Trump has declined repeatedly to commit U.S. forces to fight and die for Ukraine.
That leaves things at loggerheads: If Ukraine will not quit fighting without security guarantees, and the United States — under Joe Biden as well as President Trump — doesn’t want to provide them, who will? The natural answer should be Europe. With an economy roughly the same size as the U.S. economy, five times Russia’s population, geographic proximity to Ukraine, and already more combined military spending than Russia, surely Europe should step up.
After all, the Europeans have been quite consistent: Protecting Ukraine from Russia is of vital importance to them. Referring to the war in Ukraine, France’s Emmanuel Macron warned last year that “our Europe could die.” Macron was joined last week by Italy’s Giorgia Meloni, Germany’s Friedrich Merz, the U.K.’s Keir Starmer, Finland’s Alexander Stubb, Poland’s Donald Tusk, and other EU leaders in issuing their demand for “ironclad security guarantees” to protect “Ukraine’s and Europe’s vital security interests.”
But in that joint announcement, which touted the U.S.’s willingness to participate in providing security guarantees, the Europeans meekly stated their countries are only prepared to “play an active role” in such guarantees. Once again, it appears Europe is preparing to pass the buck to the United States for securing its own backyard.
We’ve seen this movie before. In fact, it has about as many sequels as The Fast and the Furious. Since the Eisenhower administration, U.S. leaders have complained about European free-riding. By 1959, Ike had thrown up his hands, declaring to his chief military commander in Europe that European diffidence on security issues was close to “making a sucker out of Uncle Sam.” As Ronald Steel wrote in 1964, the United States had become “suitors to our allies: beseeching them to allow us the privilege of protecting them.” It went on like this through the Cold War, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, and continues to the present day.
Which brings us back to Ukraine. European leaders have responded to Trump’s pressure to get them to stand up by reaching for the tool they have used to great effect throughout history: learned helplessness. Less than a week after the U.K. defense secretary announced that his country was prepared to “put boots on the ground” in Ukraine, his boss announced that it was “premature” to even think about the question…..”

“EXCLUSIVE: ICE Arrests Convicted Killer, Pedophile, Traffickers, And More ‘Worst Of The Worst’ — Over the weekend, ICE officers arrested some very violent people, including a criminal illegal immigrant paroled from a voluntary manslaughter sentence.”
The Federalist, By: M.D. Kittle, August 25, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “While Democrats spring to the aid of criminal illegal immigrants, U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement agents continue to clear the nation’s streets of the “worst of the worst.”
Over the weekend, ICE officers arrested some very violent illegal immigrants, including “pedophiles, drug traffickers, abusers, and other violent thugs,” a senior Department of Homeland Security official told The Federalist in a statement.
From Parole to Deportation
The list of the apprehended includes Jung Choi, a 53-year-old California resident and South Korean national convicted in 2020 of voluntary manslaughter, according to Department of Homeland Security documents exclusively provided to The Federalist. In 2017, Choi assisted a male companion, Sang Ji, who murdered his wife, Yoon “Clara” Ji, according to the criminal case. Yoon Ji died “as the result of head injuries caused by blunt trauma suffered from repeated blows by an object.” The woman’s body was discovered in a ravine near San Juan Bautista, California.
“Ji and Choi were arrested in December 2017, four days after one of Ji’s daughters filed a missing person’s report for their mother,” San Benito Live reported. “The daughter contacted the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office after becoming suspicious of Ji’s claim that his wife had gone to South Korea to care for her ailing mother.”
Sang Ji was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in California state prison. Choi was paroled on Friday. ICE agents were waiting for her. She’ll be heading back to South Korea. “We are not going to allow this murderer and criminal illegal alien to remain in our country,” the DHS official told The Federalist.
More from the ‘Worst of the Worst’ Files
Also arrested:
› Marion Andres Gomez-Arenas, 41. The criminal illegal alien from Colombia has a long rap sheet that includes 23 criminal arrests and 18 convictions in the state of Georgia, according to DHS. Gomez-Arenas’ record includes charges of fraud, forgery, shoplifting, driving under the influence, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of tools for commission of a crime, false identification documents, and a probation violation.
› Arturo Serrano-Zeferino, a foreign national from Mexico. He’s been convicted on charges of felony stalking, domestic violence, and a protection order violation in Wake County, North Carolina, according to DHS.
› Zoilo Holguin-Tavarez, an illegal immigrant from the Dominican Republic. According to DHS, he has been convicted of possession of illegal substances with intent to deliver and carrying a firearm during the commission of a drug trafficking crime in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
› Kelin Henriquez-Ruiz, a Nicaraguan foreign national convicted of assault causing bodily injury in Austin, Texas, DHS reports.
› Rigoberto Morales Hernandez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, convicted of alien smuggling in Albany, N.Y., according to Homeland Security.
› Miguel Martinez. DHS says the criminal illegal alien from Mexico has been convicted on charges of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and disseminating obscenity to a minor in Washington County, North Carolina.
› Xaykham Mannavong, a foreign national from Laos. He was convicted on charges of aggravated assault with a gun in Los Angeles, according to DHS.
› Madai Perez-Perez, a 33-year-old criminal illegal alien from Guatemala. DHS reports that Perez was convicted on a charge of willful poisoning of food on a person in Placer County, California.
› Long Duc Tran, an illegal immigrant from Vietnam. Tran, according to DHS, was convicted on charges of assault in Montgomery County, Maryland, and for aggravated malicious wounding with a firearm in Arlington, Virginia.
“Day after day, ICE is going after the worst of the worst because under President Trump and Secretary [Kristi] Noem DHS will always put AMERICANS first,” the senior DHS official said in the statement.”

I’m back….I couldn’t stop at the CH and take care of my registration because I forgot to put the new insurance card in my wallet….SMH. I’ll run over there tomorrow – it’s only 15 minutes away.
All went well at my VA appointment and I am not scheduled to go back for 6 months…..he did have them draw blood again (thankfully, it was much easier this time and didn’t require a 2nd poke) to make sure my liver counts are good. Just a precaution, supposedly. I still have the appointment next month in Lincoln, where they will test me for nicotine.
At this point, I’m wondering if I should even go thru with it since I don’t even need the oxygen any more. My Mom suggested I should keep it thru the winter, just in case I get a respiratory infection/cold…..but I never do so…..whatever. It doesn’t cost anything to have it here so I’ll just leave it as is for now.

“Dutch girl murdered during bike ride home, cops arrest migrant ‘who raped woman days earlier’ but was released from jail”
Not The Bee, Joel Abbott, Aug 25, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “That thing that never happens happened again.
The suspect is a 22-year-old “asylum seeker.” The police haven’t revealed his nationality because of course they haven’t. (The rumor is that he is from Mali.) The attack happened in a suburb south of Amsterdam near the girl’s high school (she had just graduated).
The attack happened just after 3:30 a.m. local time. It has led to fury from the Dutch population, with a cry to “reclaim the night.” Meanwhile, Dutch authorities have shot down efforts to legalize pepper spray, saying women should just scream if a man attempts to rape or murder them. Perhaps most damning, however, is that the man was arrested just days ago. For two rapes. And the police let him go.
Forget politics and migration policies for a moment. How can you call a system that immediately releases accused rapists back into the streets anything but evil??”

“‘Berlin is everywhere’ — Multiculturalism is burning down the German school system — “No child here is swimming in German waters, they remain in their Arab, Turkish, Afghan pools”
Remix News Staff, August 26, 2025
German Chancellor Angela Merkel talks with students during a visit to the Erika-Mann-Primary school in Berlin, Germany, Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011. (AP Photo/Michael Sohn, Pool)
EXCERPT: “German schools are dealing with “hell.” That’s the conclusion reached by Die Welt newspaper, as cited by Hungarian outlet Mandiner. Based on numerous case studies, it is clear that “far too many children are being sent to school who can barely concentrate and, above all, who do not speak German.”
Families, children, and teachers are suffering the consequences of the bad policies from politicians. In short, they “have failed.” One major issue is the death of the German language itself, across Germany. In the Hemshof district of Ludwigshafen, for example, barely a word of German is heard. The students in the district’s Gräfenau elementary school are 98 percent migrants.
Welt indicates that plenty of Asian, African, and Slavic languages present, but as Germany has become a nation of migrants, the German language recedes. “Italian, Greek, Turkish guest workers since the 1960s, and since 2015, the rest of the world,” Die Welt writes about the progression of immigration waves in the country.
The school principal in the Hemshof district, Barbara Mächtle, has been vocal about the issues. For example, some 40 first-year students, a third of the year, may not be ready to enter the second grade. According to the newspaper, Mächtle “knows the tricks to cover this up, but he doesn’t use them.”
For example, these children are enrolled in the second grade, but then “voluntarily drop out” on the first day of school. Machete refuses to play these games and will force these students to repeat the grade – “not to punish them, but to save them.”
Mächtle also dispels the illusion that being surrounded by German, migrant kids will “absorb it on their own.” She says there is no “language immersion” because children “hear everything except German.”
“No child here is swimming in German waters, they remain in their Arab, Turkish, Afghan pools,” and “at best they develop a basic slang, a German of 50-100 words, which is enough for the street and the schoolyard, but not for a profession that can be understood even partially,” Welt reports.
And then there is the violence inflicting schools, which the paper calls a widespread fire, not just here or there. In 2024, the authorities registered 35,570 school violence incidents, an average of 97 per day; 743 of these involved a knife. Students also express their religion, Islam, “aggressively” in the classroom. As Remix News has reported, 40 percent of all violent crime in the German school system is from foreigners. In addition, many of the German students have a foreign background…..”

“Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie slammed comments from Jeffrey Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell in which she said President Donald Trump was not guilty of any wrongdoing and praised him as “cordial” and “kind.” “She might as well have taken out Donald Trump, or President Trump, and said, ‘The man who can pardon me has never done anything wrong. The man who can pardon me has always been wonderful,” Christie, a rare vocal critic of Trump in the Republican party, told ABC’s “This Week” on Aug. 24.
“I don’t think Donald Trump had anything to do with Jeffrey Epstein that was untoward or illegal, but we’re going to believe Ghislaine Maxwell?” Christie asked. “Give me a break.”
Maybe this fat fuck should remember who he’s fucking with. Trump has already responded saying he may like it if the DOJ were to do an in-depth investigation in to the ‘Bridgegate’ scandal back in the day. Don’t remember what that was? It was the scandal that ended his political career.”
