the bats had a wild and crazy party last night…lol…bat poop all over in front of the doors this morning. of course–the doors are directly under the peak of the roof so…that’s where I usually find it. there must have been tons of mosquitoes and other bugs for them.
the hummers are still feeding like crazy this morning too…lecturing me for getting up later than usual…lol

    1. Good morning, Pat! Ewww….I hate bats!!! Just too creepy for me! I have never been a big Steve Martin fan, altho I loved the Smothers Brothers. I’ve not seen most of his movies – just not my kind of humor. Wheezer was up and waiting at the door this morning; after eating his tuna, he hunkered down and waited, hoping for more. Nope – that’s all you get, dude! A storm moved thru last night and the clouds this morning are thick and kind of dramatic. It’s breezy and cool at 67….thankfully, by the time it moved in, the weed spray had dried so hopefully, it won’t affect it. I know why it rained – I watered my plants out in front last evening! That always seems to happen!

      1. Good Morning Filly!
I don’t care for bats either, but they do keep the mosquitos in check…but it’s why we rarely sit out on the deck after dark.
My son gave us a new series to watch –Only Murders in the Building. It’s with Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. it’s about a trio of tenants in a large apartment building in NY–one of the great old buildings–and they only work to solve murders in the building. it’s new–and it’s interesting–and yet it has comic relief. I was skeptical at first, but i am now awaiting the next season to come out on dvd…lol

    1. A lot of detail here:

EXCERPT: “FBI Director Kash Patel has uncovered a bombshell memo written in 2017 chronicling the extensive political obstruction that career agents in three cities faced from their own bosses and the Obama Justice Department during the 2016 election as they probed whether Hillary Clinton engaged in a pay-to-play corruption scheme involving her family foundation.

“Shut it down!” then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates is quoted as demanding in the detailed timeline of political impediments that agents in New York City, Little Rock, Ark., and Washington D.C. reported.

The agents tried to get the help of federal prosecutors to determine whether or what crimes occurred while Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State, most notably, because at that time, her family foundation solicited hundreds of millions of dollars from foreign and U.S. interests with business before her department.

The timeline — written by a DOJ lawyer assigned to the FBI under former bureau Director James Comey — was recently secured by top aides to Patel along with several corroborating internal emails and was obtained by Just the News. Together, they make clear that both the DOJ and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe placed significant impediments in front of agents who believed they had evidence to justify a public integrity criminal case.

The declassified timeline revealed that as early as February 2016, the Justice Department “indicated they would not be supportive of an FBI investigation.” The timeline also shows that, in mid-February 2016, McCabe ordered that “no overt investigative steps” were allowed to be taken in the Clinton Foundation investigation “without his approval” — a command he allegedly repeated numerous times over the coming months.

You can read the timeline here:

Declassified Timeline on Clinton Foundation Investigation

The roadblocks just kept coming, the timeline shows, to the great frustration of the agents and the U.S. attorney’s office in Little Rock, which had moved to a fully predicated criminal investigation.

Patel’s discovery of the memo and related emails comes at a sensitive time as Attorney General Pam Bondi has approved the use of a strike force and a grand jury to investigate whether law enforcement and intelligence abuses over the last decade amounted to a criminal conspiracy to protect Democrats like Clinton and Joe Biden while inflicting harm on Trump and his followers.

Officials told Just the News that DOJ also has secure potential cooperation from current and former prosecutors and agents who were willing to assist any investigation in possible obstruction of the Clinton probes.

“Shut it down!” No explanation given

The timeline detailed how Yates ordered one of the federal prosecutors to “shut it down” likely in the March 2016 timeframe. Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) and Eastern District of New York (EDNY) purportedly said in August 2016 that they “would not support the investigation” into the Clinton Foundation, according to the timeline, and that “no explanation was given.”

Once the investigation had essentially been delayed for a year and dragged past the November 2016 election, the timeline shows that DOJ officials under Trump then began to raise their “concerns regarding the statute of limitations” around the investigation, with one still unnamed official saying that they “wanted to close this chapter and move forward.”

Yates did not immediately respond to a request sent to her via her law firm email, and McCabe did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent to him through George Mason University. The Clinton Foundation did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent through its website.

McCabe was the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, but he soon ascended to Deputy Director of the FBI under Comey, where the Justice Department inspector general said he “had an active role in the supervision of the Midyear [Clinton emails] investigation, and oversight of the Clinton Foundation investigation, until he recused himself from these investigations on November 1, 2016” — just days before the election. By that time, most political fallout against Hillary Clinton from the FBI’s probes had been neutralized…..”

Senior UN Officials Colluded With Jihadis Responsible For Thousands Of American Deaths, Watchdog Says

Senior United Nations (UN) officials helped the Taliban extract kickbacks from UN contractors bankrolled by U.S. tax dollars, a new report from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) alleged Wednesday.

UN officials allegedly worked with the Taliban to bribe and extort UN contractors supplying aid to Afghanistan in exchange for lucrative, often billion-dollar aid contracts, numerous anonymous sources told SIGAR in interviews. Of the $10.72 billion in total aid given to Afghanistan between 2021 and the State Department cancelling most of the funds in 2025, $3.83 billion came from the U.S.

The officials would not only make sure the Taliban got a cut of aid provided by the contracts, but also demanded bribes from the companies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) involved to fast-track their contract’s approval. Only around “30 to 40 percent” of the total aid given to Afghanistan actually reached the population for humanitarian purposes, according to the SIGAR report. The Taliban took control of Afghanistan after the U.S. withdrew in 2021 after two decades of war in which more than 2,300 Americans perished.

    WOAH

Barack Obama gave an interview to NPR and accidentally gave the conclusion of the CIA intelligence report saying Russia helped Donald Trump win the election BEFORE the CIA even started the report

It was all Barack Obama. Literal treason

“Obama may have given us a smoking gun, sir.

He did, yeah. He’s either the first clairvoyant president in American history because he seemed to know on December 19, before the CIA had redone the Intelligence Committee assessment, what its outcome was, or more likely, he knew the fix was in.

This is an interview he gives NPR and I guess he forgot that they hadn’t done the work yet.

So he tells NPR expects the CIA to conclude, reverse itself and conclude that Vladimir Putin tried to help Donald Trump. The problem is the CIA hasn’t really even started the work. It just got going and he’s so embarrassed he comes back later and tries to walk it back a little bit”

  5. Just The News: “The Department of Veterans Affairs on Wednesday announced that it has processed more claims in fiscal year 2025 than in any other year and that the backlog of veterans waiting for benefits is down 37% so far.

The department said it has processed 2,524,115 ratings claims as of Aug. 8, which is two months before the end of the current fiscal year. Veterans Affairs processed a total of 2,517,519 ratings claims in all of fiscal year 2024.

Veterans have long criticized the department for having long wait times and its overall bureaucratic inefficiency, but the Trump administration has promised to improve the system.

“Under President Trump, the VA is making major improvements to better serve Veterans, and this announcement underscores that fact,” Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins said in a statement. “We look forward to implementing more reforms to increase customer service and convenience for those we are charged with serving.”

Collins noted that his department completed 300,000 ratings claims in just July, marking the highest ratings claims processing in a single month. The department also opened 16 new healthcare clinics nationwide this year, offered nearly 1 million appointments outside traditional operating hours and improved its integrated electronic health record system by streamlining its deployment.

Collins additionally announced his department was ending its treatments for transgender veterans and eliminating its diversity initiatives.”

  6. Just The News: “Virginia’s Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin on Wednesday instructed the Virginia State Police to conduct a criminal investigation into allegations that schools in Fairfax County funded abortions for minors without parental consent. The governor’s office highlighted reports that school officials may have arranged and paid for abortions for multiple minors without notifying the students’ parents, which Youngkin argued would be a violation of parental rights.

Fairfax County Superintendent Michelle Reid told school administrators and the Fairfax community that the allegations would be “unacceptable” if true and has launched her own investigation into the allegations, per ABC7 News.

“I am deeply concerned with the allegations that Fairfax County Public Schools officials arranged for minors to get abortions without parental consent and may have misused public funds to pay for them,” Youngkin said. “I am directing the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation to open a full criminal investigation into the matter immediately.”

Youngkin said the school district has a history of disrespecting parental rights of its students, and argued parents have a fundamental right to make all significant decisions that directly impact their children.

Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, who is running to replace the term-limited Youngkin in November, said she supports the investigation into the Fairfax school district. “The allegations that Fairfax County Public Schools provided minors with access to abortion services without any parental knowledge or consent is abhorrent,” Earle-Sears said. “Our Administration looks forward to the results of [the Virginia police] investigation and will take the appropriate action to ensure the safety of all students.”

The school declined to publicly comment on the allegations but said it would “fully cooperate” with the investigation.

The governor’s office said anyone with information related to the allegations should contact Virginia State Police at vfc@vfc.vsp.virginia.gov or (804) 674-2196.”

  7. “D.C. Circuit Court: Trump Always Had The Authority To Slash USAID’s Tax Dollar Waste”

The Federalist, By: Jordan Boyd, August 13, 2025

    USAID pallets

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “President Donald Trump had the presidential and legal authority to terminate billions of taxpayer dollars to the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) and its countless overseas pet projects, the Washington D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed this week.

Ever since Trump issued his day-one executive order effectively freezing USAID’s wasting of Americans’ hard-earned dollars, judges have encroached on his presidential authority by hampering his power to impound, or “decline to spend the full amount of an appropriated fund.”

In its 2-1 ruling published on Wednesday, the D.C. Circuit Court not only reversed those attempts, but also paved the way to limit the number of lawsuits and subsequent injunctions designed to keep Trump from doing his job by curbing American subsidization of covert programs like Iraqi “Sesame Street,” LGBT initiatives abroad, and even meals for terrorists.

Circuit Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson, joined by Judge Gregory Katsas, noted that a band of USAID beneficiaries sued to stop the cessation of their federal funding and keep their secret slush funds. Yet she concluded the district court “erred in granting that relief because the grantees lack a cause of action to press their claims.”

“They may not bring a freestanding constitutional claim if the underlying alleged violation and claimed authority are statutory,” Henderson continued. She also affirmed that Trump’s executive order was valid due to “the President’s authority under ‘the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America.’” Henderson additionally rejected the dissent’s complaint that the Circuit Court’s ruling will “insulate large swaths of presidential action from judicial review.”

“We simply hold that such claims must meet the standards governing review of ultra vires claims, and cannot be recast as constitutional claims through the mere invocation of the separation of powers,” she wrote in a footnote.

The D.C. Circuit Court’s ruling proves to be yet another big win for Trump and his Department of Government Efficiency, who have faced an uphill battle against rogue judges telling the federal government how to use its money. The judicial coup against the Republican administration previously took a blow when Judge Carl Nichols declined to issue a preliminary injunction in February, allowing the Trump team’s USAID employee termination plans to continue.”

  8. “EXCLUSIVE: Pentagon Terminates Security Clearance Of Russia Collusion Hoaxer Susan Miller — Susan Miller, a cheerleader for the Russia collusion hoax, ‘cannot be trusted with a security clearance,’ a senior administration official says.”

The Federalist, By: M.D. Kittle, August 14, 2025

Retired CIA official Susan Miller speaks with Times Radio.

EXCERPT: “Susan Miller, the retired CIA spook who lied about her leadership role in the intelligence report that lit the fuse on the Russia collusion hoax bomb, has been stripped of her security clearance, according to two Trump administration officials familiar with the matter.

Miller, who served as a senior Central Intelligence Agency Officer, has long boasted about her “full clearance,” particularly while attacking President Donald Trump and his top intelligence officers for shining a light on one of the biggest political scandals in U.S. history. That clearance has now been terminated, the administration officials told The Federalist.

“This woman totally shouldn’t hold a high level security clearance after pushing the Russia Hoax. All she did was lie to the American people to hurt Trump,” a senior Defense official said of Miller. Author of the Hoax?

Miller has made the corporate media rounds of late, attempting to undercut reams of declassified documents exposing the Obama White House and Miller’s former intelligence community bosses for manufacturing the bogus 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment that falsely claimed Russia interfered with the 2016 presidential election with the purpose of electing Donald Trump. Internal communications at the time show career agents warning then-CIA Director John Brennan and then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper that the “intelligence” used to go after Trump was bad and failed to measure up to CIA intelligence-gathering standards.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard in recent weeks has unsealed bombshell records that she says show “President Obama and his national security cabinet members manufactured and politicized intelligence to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President Trump.” The Trump campaign-Kremlin collusion narrative fell apart after years of investigation, but not before Democrats and the deep state spied on Americans, engaged in political witch hunts, undermined Trump’s first term in the White House, and ruined the lives of their political enemies.

In short, the Russia collusion hoax.

The usual suspects in the corporate media were along for the ride. As The Federalist reported earlier this month, several media outlets attempted to exploit the former CIA spook’s credentials to diminish the declassified documents and accounts of whistleblowers. They and Miller lied about her involvement in the ICA, describing her as “an author of the agency’s 2017 intelligence report on Russian meddling.” On a left-wing podcast earlier this summer, Miller claimed she “headed up the report team” that compiled the error-ridden intelligence assessment. She did not, senior intelligence sources told real journalist Matt Taibbi and the Racket News.

“Not an author. Not involved,” a senior intelligence official said.

“… [S]he’s not the author of the ICA … she wasn’t leading this effort. So it’s just totally bizarre that she claims the opposite,” a source with knowledge of the report’s preparation told the news outlet. ‘Cannot Be Trusted’

Miller should be grateful. The deeply flawed intelligence assessment she has taken credit for may go down as one of the most politically driven, undemocratic spy reports in American history…..”

    1. About the same, maybe a tad less pain on the top of my left foot. I’m going to continue to keep them wrapped overnight….it makes for less pain during the night. I tried the compression socks but they REALLY hurt! It’s kind of weird – there is pain even when there is little to no swelling (left leg only – the right stays swollen)…..I’m going to bite the bullet at my next appointment and agree to a prescription diuretic, even if it’s Lasix. This needs to stop!!! It’s really the only thing holding me back at all at this point.

  12. Just The News: “GOP Sen. Ron Johnson says James Comey involvement as FBI director in perpetuating the now-debunked Russiagate story to harm President Trump is “grotesque corruption.” Johnson said it’s likely too late to rely on criminal investigations, and he hopes that Attorney General Pam Bondi ramps the investigation up to a conspiracy where a trial can be had in a venue like Florida.

“I can’t think of a better venue, day by day, week by week, where we lay out the timeline of the grotesque corruption of these partisans within the Department of Justice [and] the FBI … all on the side of the Democrats, all in opposition, sabotaging Trump’s first administration, and if they can, they’ll do it to a secondary administration,” Johnson said on the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show.

Johnson spoke after Just the News reported Tuesday that the FBI concluded numerous legacy news media stories that crafted the false Russia collusion narrative contained illegally leaked classified intelligence but failed to definitively identify the leakers.

According to the report, Comey used a special conduit to the Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times in his bid to polish his image and push for a special prosecutor to take down Trump.

Johnson, of Wisconsin, also criticized mainstream media outlets for not covering the story. “The legacy media won’t cover this,” he said Wednesday night. “They’ll ignore it. They’re complicit in it. I mean, take a look at Adam Schiff. He was censored in the House. I doubt that was barely covered in California. Now, he’s been outed here, from the standpoint of leaking classified information.”

He also said there needs to be more whistleblowers coming out to expose corruption. “I sure wish these whistleblowers would come forward when the statute of limitations has not run out,” he said. “I think one of the reasons they probably are coming forward now [is] nobody really can be held accountable legally.”

  14. “Despite Difficulties, Russia-Ukraine Could Be on Track for Peace: The Alaska Summit Looms: A New Path to End Ukraine’s War”

    Ryan DeLarme, Aug 14, 2025

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “One of the many things that President Donald Trump assured his voters of on the campaign trail was an immediate end to the war in Ukraine. The claims were perceived as campaign bravado by foreign policy devotees and statecraft nerds, while the majority of his supporters accepted them as gospel.

In a March 4th, 2023, interview with Sean Hannity, Trump was quoted as saying:

“Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, I will have the disastrous war between Russia and Ukraine settled. It will be settled quickly. Quickly. I will get the problem solved and I will get it solved in rapid order and it will take me no longer than one day. I know exactly what to say to each of them.”

To be fair, Trump later acknowledged in a 2025 Time magazine interview that his statements were exaggerated or made in jest to emphasize his intent to prioritize resolving the conflict. The real question was not whether it would be completed on day one, but whether it would be accomplished at all, and if so, under what conditions? How much more American tax funds would disappear in the Eastern European quagmire?

We are now half a year into Trump’s second term, and not only has the president failed to end the conflict in 24 hours, but just last month, he announced a significant shift, endorsing a plan to send additional weapons to Ukraine, including Patriot missile defense systems and other defensive arms. This decision comes after pressure from NATO allies and frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s lack of progress toward peace negotiations.

Despite these setbacks, the administration now seems to be on the right course for achieving a lasting peace.

As Trump and Putin’s meeting in Anchorage looms on the horizon, the administration has taken an important step toward reaching a peace agreement in Ukraine. It has abandoned its call for an unconditional early ceasefire, which the Russians have consistently rejected, in favor of offering Moscow concrete and detailed terms.

If the rumored terms include acknowledgment of Russia’s takeover of Crimea and the Donbas, this makes perfect sense. Since the defeat of Ukraine’s counter-offensive in 2023, it has been clear that Ukraine cannot recapture these regions either by force or negotiation.

The reality, oft-neglected by foreign policy establishment-friendly media, is that most of the population of Crimea and much of that of the Donbas do not want to return to Ukraine.

Swapping the remaining Ukrainian-held Donbas for Russian-held territory elsewhere, as Trump appears to have proposed, would be extremely painful for Kyiv, and President Zelensky has already rejected it. He also encourages European leaders to reject it. Russia, on the other hand, has already taken control of the majority of the territory and is on the verge of seizing the strategic town of Pokrovsk.

If the war continues, it is fair to expect Russia to take over the whole of Donbas in the coming year. If Ukraine rejects this arrangement and Trump withdraws US help to Ukraine, Russia will most certainly take much more. Accepting this element of the deal, no matter how painful, is the wise and patriotic choice for Ukraine – continuing to oppose the negotiations would imply Zelenski’s commitment is to the Western foreign policy elite rather than the Ukrainian people.

Still, some critical questions remain unanswered. Neutrality in Ukraine has been an absolute requirement for Russia. Will Moscow be content with a casual declaration by Trump that Ukraine is permanently excluded from NATO membership? Or will it necessitate that the Ukrainian parliament reinstate the neutrality commitment that was a component of the Ukrainian constitution prior to 2014?

For Russia’s part, it must significantly reduce its demands for Ukrainian “denazification” and “demilitarization,” as their most extreme interpretations would entail regime change and disarmament in Ukraine—conditions that no administration in Kyiv could or should acquiesce to.

It would be foolish of Russia and Ukraine to turn down a deal if they can find common ground, as the stakes for both nations are very high. By opposing Trump, Russia would be committing to the pursuit of total victory, which might be an impossible goal. Furthermore, it would miss out on a once-in-a-lifetime chance to mend fences with the US and go on with respect.

Ukraine risks cutting off all future military and financial assistance from the United States and having to depend on significantly reduced support from Europe if it rejects the requirements. Regardless of whether Ukraine could maintain a gradual retreat instead of collapsing, no future peace agreement would result in more favorable conditions.

The majority of Russians and Ukrainians, according to surveys, would prefer a swift resolution to the conflict. An ideal resolution to this conflict does not exist. Unfortunately, in terms of what is achievable, the one that is currently shaping up is probably as good as it will get for all parties involved. Both sides must put their maximalist aspirations aside to prevent the needless loss of life that will inevitably occur if the conflict drags on.”

A Swiss traffic camera in Köniz, near Bern, captured a mallard duck flying at 52 km/h in a 30 km/h zone. The surprising part? It happened on the same date, seven years prior. Authorities believe it’s the same duck, making it a “repeat offender.” Locals are joking about it being a “glitch in the matrix.”

  19. “The Stars are Aligning”

    Clandestine, Aug 14, 2025

“After Trump ends the war between Russia and Ukraine, the Dems/MSM will not be able to spin it, Trump will have massive public approval and near-unlimited political ammunition.

Trump ending WW3 will prove that he is a great President, and will be a deathblow to the Dems/MSM. This will disprove their entire narrative/identity for the last 10 years. All day every day, they said “orange man bad”, and he ended up bringing peace around the globe and preventing/ending WW3…

Additionally, from a strategic standpoint, Trump’s approval will be at its peak right after he secures this historic peace deal. Trump will have the trust and approval of the American People, and thus they will be more willing to trust him in the not-so-distant-future when he has to do some unprecedented things, like arresting high-profile politicians/bureaucrats.

Ending the war between Russia/Ukraine gives Trump the political ammunition and public approval he needs to drop the hammer, and Trump already has federal control of DC, National Guard already deployed, with specialized active duty units on standby.

If you are able to think a few steps ahead, you can see the stars are aligning.”

The announcement comes one day before the deadline to respond to a lawsuit alleging the agency’s failure to set up the task force violated federal law. Children’s Health Defense funded the lawsuit.”

    Vaccines and HHS on laptop

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) today announced it has reinstated the Task Force on Safer Childhood Vaccines, a federal panel created by Congress to improve the safety of childhood vaccines. The announcement comes one day before the deadline for the agency to respond to a lawsuit alleging that U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. violated federal law by failing to set up the task force when he took over as agency secretary.

The lawsuit, filed in May by attorney Ray Flores and funded by Children’s Health Defense (CHD), alleged that Kennedy was violating the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, which requires the HHS secretary to form a vaccine task force promoting vaccine safety and report on its progress to Congress every two years.

“This is a great day for children and a great day for CHD,” Flores told The Defender. He said that tomorrow he plans to file a dismissal “without prejudice,” which means that if the agency fails to follow through on its commitment, he can refile the lawsuit.

CHD CEO Mary Holland celebrated the news. “We are grateful to Secretary Kennedy for fulfilling his duty under the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act. It took nearly 30 years for HHS to do this, but at last, we have an HHS secretary who is following the law on this vital issue.”

The 1986 act requires HHS to establish a task force that includes the health secretary, the commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and the directors of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Since Congress passed the act over 35 years ago, no health secretary has reported to Congress on steps taken to make vaccines safer, according to Flores.

In 2018, when Kennedy worked as a lawyer, he and co-counsel Aaron Siri sued HHS to obtain copies of the biennial reports from the task force. The lawsuit revealed that no reports were ever submitted. HHS created the first task force in 1990, but it was disbanded in 1998, with no reports produced.

The 1986 act includes a broad provision allowing citizens to sue the secretary if the requirements are not met, which was the basis for Flores to file the lawsuit. Holland also offered kudos “to attorney Ray Flores, who recognized this unfulfilled obligation and set this HHS action in motion. Citizens can and do create real change for the better.”

At the end of July, Kennedy requested two additional weeks to respond to the lawsuit. In today’s announcement, just before the extension’s deadline, NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya said:

“By reinstating this Task Force, we are reaffirming our commitment to rigorous science, continuous improvement, and the trust of American families. NIH is proud to lead this effort to advance vaccine safety and support innovation that protects children without compromise.”

The Task Force will work with the CDC vaccine advisory committee to provide regular recommendations on the development and refinement of childhood vaccines that cause fewer and less serious adverse reactions than existing vaccines, and to improve vaccine development, production, distribution and adverse reaction reporting.”

  21. “Texas Sues Eli Lilly for Allegedly Bribing Providers to Prescribe Drugs”

by The Defender Staff, August 14, 2025

    PharmExec reported:

“Texas filed a lawsuit against Eli Lilly over bribery allegations.

The filing, which was announced on Tuesday afternoon, claims that Lilly used various practices to illegally induce medical providers in the state to prescribe Lilly’s products over its competitors. The complaint specifically calls out two programs that Lilly provided for HCPs.

The first is a free nurses program, which saw the drug company provide nursing care for patients who received its medications. The second was a reimbursement support service. According to Texas State Attorney General Ken Paxton, these programs resulted in Lilly medications being prescribed for patients on Medicaid. He says that millions of dollars in claims were filed with the state’s Medicaid program that were “tainted by Eli Lilly’s illegal marketing and quid pro quo arrangements.”

In the lawsuit’s announcement, Paxton said, “Big Pharma compromised medical decision-making by engaging in an illegal kickback scheme,” said Attorney General Paxton. “Eli Lilly fraudulently sought to maximize profits at taxpayer expense and put corporate greed over people’s health. I will not stand by while corporations unlawfully manipulate our healthcare system to line their own pockets.”

Trump Announces MASSIVE Social Security Cleanup — 275,000 Illegal Aliens Removed, Plus 12.4 Million Dead People Over 120 Years Wiped from Database

On the 90th anniversary of the Social Security Act, President Donald J. Trump delivered a stirring proclamation in the Oval Office, promising to “Make Social Security Great Again.”

Trump celebrated the passage of his signature legislation, the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which includes a temporary senior tax deduction, effectively eliminating taxes on Social Security benefits for many recipients aged 65 and above from 2025 through 2028.

As part of the administration’s push to “root out fraud, waste, and abuse,” Trump touted removing 275,000 illegal aliens from the Social Security system and clearing 12.4 million names listed as being over 120 years old.

In his remarks and through a White House post, he claimed many of these phantom entries were getting benefits…

The administration took credit for significant enhancements in SSA customer service: handling 70% more calls, reducing average hold times from 30 minutes to just six minutes, and driving a surge in automated self-service options, serving 90% of calls via technology-based solutions.

Field office wait times dropped 23%, and appointment usage quintupled.

Of course we won’t ALL go down the shitter like the Big Apple would, but isn’t it a frightening concept that guys like this never-held-a-fuckin’-job-in-his-life moron could actually rise to prominence and actually get the Dimocrat nomination for Mayor of that once-glorious city?

How many more big cities have to burn themselves in to cinders before enough people wake up and realize there is NOTHING free in this world, and that the only way you can ever truly enjoy something is to earn it? God help us all, but especially us, and not them. That’s not the kind of ‘help’ they want…”

“According to the YouGov survey mentioned in the image and confirmed by search results, anchovies are indeed the most despised food in the U.S., with 56% of Americans disliking or hating them. The survey also identified other foods widely disliked or hated by Americans:

    Liver: 54%

    Sardines: 52%

    Tofu: 46%

    Squid: 44%

    Caviar: 43%

    Oysters: 42%

    Blue Cheese: 39%

These findings highlight a strong aversion to certain seafood and bold-flavored items among American adults surveyed.

As for myself, Liver’d be at the top of my list, and why aren’t Lima Beans in the top five? That just doesn’t make sense –  inquiring minds need to know…”
