Today would have been Robin Williams’ birthday. He was born in 1951 and passed away in 2014. One of my favorite Robin Williams’ movies was Mrs. Doubtfire. This article is from Mental Floss:

After voice-over actor Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) gets divorced and loses custody of his three children, he resorts to dressing up and speaking like a matronly grandmother to get hired as his kids’ nanny. Here are some facts about Mrs. Doubtfire, which was released on this day in 1993.
1. IT’S BASED ON A BRITISH NOVEL.
During the mid-1970s, author Anne Fine walked by a “bric-a-brac” shop selling jewelry and old furs, never having the time to walk inside and meet the store’s proprietor, one Madame Doubtfire. Fine remembered the name in 1986 when she wrote her book Madame Doubtfire. Fine said her one request to the filmmakers was that they “not make the children bratty, and they did indulge me in that.”
2. BLAKE LIVELY BLEW HER AUDITION TO PLAY NATALIE.
It came down to the future Gossip Girl star and Mara Wilson. To calm his daughter, Lively’s father told the then five-year-old Blake that she would be reading with Robin Williams’s twin brother at her final audition, not the movie star himself. That plan failed when someone in the room introduced Williams as Robin. Lively described the experience as “horrible.”
3. THEY WENT THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHS OF OLD WOMEN.
Director Chris Columbus claimed that he and his fellow filmmakers looked through “hundreds and hundreds” of photographs until finding a 1940s-era English woman to base Mrs. Doubtfire’s look on.
4. IT TOOK FOUR AND A HALF HOURS TO APPLY MRS. DOUBTFIRE’S MAKEUP.
Makeup artist Ve Neill did the honors. Neill—alongside Greg Cannom and Yolanda Toussieng—won the Oscar for Best Makeup, just like she did for Beetlejuice and Ed Wood. The wig was created by Toussieng, the hairstylist who created Edward Scissorhands’s hair.
5. WILLIAMS WENT TO A SAN FRANCISCO SEX SHOP IN THE MRS. DOUBTFIRE COSTUME.
The shop employee was about to sell a sex toy to him when he realized the true identity of the customer.
6. IT WAS SHOT ENTIRELY IN SAN FRANCISCO.
That includes the five large sets built in a 100,000-square-foot building in the Richmond district. It used to be a candy warehouse. After Williams’s passing, fans of the actor left flowers, photographs, and letters at the Pacific Heights house that doubled as the Hillards’ home. The plastic surgeon who lives there didn’t mind. In the original script, Mrs. Doubtfire was set in Chicago.
7. CHUCK JONES SUPERVISED THE OPENING ANIMATION.
Jones was the iconic animator of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons for Warner Bros. The full five minutes of Pudgy Parakeet and Grunge the Cat was released as a DVD feature.
8. COLUMBUS USED MULTIPLE CAMERAS SIMULTANEOUSLY TO CAPTURE THE CAST WHEN WILLIAMS IMPROVISED.
The director mostly shot one or two takes of each scene as it was written in the script before shooting something Williams made up. Columbus said the resulting footage gave him the option of cutting a PG, PG-13, R, or NC-17 version of the movie. (He ended up going with the PG-13 version.)
9. WILLIAMS DIDN’T KNOW THE BARBRA STREISAND LYRICS.
Harvey Fierstein (Frank) and Scott Capurro (Jack) taught Williams “Don’t Rain On My Parade.”
10. WILLIAMS TRIED TO BREAK PIERCE BROSNAN’S CONCENTRATION.
While Brosnan (Stu) was attempting to choke on the shrimp, Williams kept making suggestive comments to make his task much more difficult.
11. SALLY FIELD AND MARA WILSON ALSO WENT OFF SCRIPT.
When Field inadvertently gave herself a cappuccino mustache, it was added to the movie. Wilson ad-libbed her princess line.
12. LYDIA WAS EXPELLED FROM HER SCHOOL FOR WORKING ON THE MOVIE.
Lisa Jakub was kicked out of her Toronto school for taking the five-month-long gig. When Williams found out, he wrote a letter to the school asking them to reconsider. School officials framed his letter, but didn’t change their mind about Jakub.
13. A LENGTHY SUBPLOT INVOLVING THE NEIGHBOR GLORIA WAS CUT.
Scenes were filmed where Daniel got even with Gloria for telling Mrs. Doubtfire nasty rumors about him by telling her to use dog urine to make her garden beautiful, which ultimately kills her flowers. Gloria is only in two scenes in the final version.
14. THE HILLARDS ALMOST GOT BACK TOGETHER.
Screenwriter Randi Mayem Singer left the movie when 20th Century Fox wanted her to change the ending so that Daniel and Miranda get back together. After the studio and Columbus read the new, happier ending in Leslie Dixon’s revised script, they asked Singer to come back and change the ending back to the two remaining divorced.
15. TALK OF A SEQUEL BEGAN IN 2001.
In 2014, Williams had given Elf screenwriter David Berenbaum the go-ahead to work on a second draft of the sequel, which was cancelled following Williams’s passing.
16. BUT A MUSICAL MIGHT STILL BE COMING.
In early 2015, Alan Menken announced that he was in the early stages of working on a musical adaptation of the movie. In May 2016, however, he told Digital Spy that the project had stalled out a bit. “Mrs. Doubtfire went through a change of lyricist, and then also a dramaturgical evolution,” he said. “At the moment, the best thing I could say is that it’s on a creative hiatus.” At this point, only time will tell if and when it happens.

“Where Does the CDC’s Pervasive Dishonesty Come From? A Window Is Finally Emerging to Reverse this Unstoppable Tide of Corruption”

EXCRPT: “One of my major questions throughout life has been whether the bad things that happen around us are a result of a secretive group of bad actors (e.g., an organized conspiracy) or are simply a naturally emergent phenomenon that would occur regardless of which group was in power behind the scenes. The reason this is fundamentally a difficult question to answer is that in most cases, a compelling argument can be made for each, so ultimately, the interpretation you choose comes down to your own biases. In my own case, I still am not sure which is at play.
For instance, I frequently see policies be enacted in a coordinated fashion that lead to a clear outcome, and then watch as the years play out, that every institution works in unison to ensure that outcome comes to pass, and as such, when I see the opening moves, I tend to assume the ultimate outcome will follow (which, for example, is why I knew there would be vaccine mandates at the start of 2021).
Note: as it’s a bit of a tangent, I included a recent fairly impactful example of one of these coordinated campaigns at the end of the article.
Conversely, I often ask people directly connected to the government who is actually making the decisions that affect all of us, and one of the most informed people I know simply shared:

Everyone has specific government agencies they dislike. One of mine has been the CDC because the CDC always promotes and protects vaccines (regardless of how egregious the vaccine is), criticizes integrative medical therapies, and promotes disease management strategies that are not very effective (e.g., masking for COVID).
It hence should not come as a surprise that the CDC has a longstanding history of corruption, did a variety of unscrupulous things to promote the COVID vaccines and in the present moment, has been the most resistant agency to the MAHA policies RFK Jr. has been working to enact (which in addition to being shown through news reports has been shared with me by people directly connected to the H.H.S.).
In turn, if you browse their website, you will frequently encounter this CME disclaimer:
One of the primary ways the CDC legally takes bribes is due to a 1983 law where Congress authorized the CDC to accept gifts “made unconditionally…for the benefit of the [Public Health] Service or for the carrying out of any of its functions.” Following this, in 1992, Congress established The National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, allowing the CDC to obtain additional funding for its work. Two years later, it was incorporated to “mobilize philanthropic and private-sector resources.”
Note: other Federal agencies, including the CIA and the NIH, have similar foundations (that are not subject to legal oversight such as Freedom of Information Act requests with many foundation directors later getting lucrative pharmaceutical employment).
Not surprisingly, the CDC Foundation has been accused of egregious conduct since its inception and has received nearly 1 billion dollars from corporate “donors” (criticisms include a scathing editorial in one of the world’s top medical journals). Just The News: “An amber alert was issued on Sunday for a 9-year-old child reportedly abducted in Lake George and she has been found dead, New York State Police confirmed.
Police said Melina Frattolin was reported abducted by her father around 9:40 p.m. on July 19, according to local reports. News outlets reported that Frattolin was last spotted in a white van heading southbound on the Northway near exit 22. She is described as an Indian girl with brown hair and brown eyes. Frattolin is 5 feet tall and about 100 pounds, a local news report said.

Just The News: “The U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) is warning retired senior officers who served in Iraq or Syria of a possible terror threat against them based in Florida, according to a memo issued by the USAOC and the U.S. Army Military Police reviewed by Just the News.
A “duty to warn” notification was also sent to active-duty special operators as an extra precaution, though current intelligence does not indicate the threat extends to them, the memo states.
“This message is to inform you of a recent ‘Duty to Warn’ notification regarding a potential terrorist threat targeting retired senior officials who previously served in the Department of Defense with roles in the Syria/Iraq theater,” a July 17 notification stated. “The current geographic focus of this threat is Florida.”
“While this threat does not directly target active duty USASOC personnel, we are issuing this notice to reinforce the importance of vigilance and situational awareness,” it added. “We encourage all personnel to remain alert to their surroundings, both on and off post, and to report any suspicious activity to appropriate authorities.
Army officials declined to identify the actors behind the threat or more information about their targets.
“The military gets reports of threats all the time. Just The News: “A federal court has blocked a new Washington state law requiring religious leaders in the state to report child abuse or neglect, even when it’s disclosed in confession. Senate Bill 5375 makes members of the clergy – including ministers, priests, rabbis and others – mandatory reporters of child abuse and neglect. [AS THEY SHOULD BE!!!]
The law was set to take effect on July 27. Penalties include up to 364 days in jail, a $5,000 fine, and potential civil liability for priests who uphold the seal of confession.
The confessional privilege is a long-standing legal protection that allows clergy to keep confidential any information shared during a confession. In his ruling, U.S. District Court Judge David Estudillo said Friday there was “no question” that the law was a burden on the free exercise of religion. Clergy would be put in an untenable position under the new law, according to the judge.
“In situations where [priests] hear confessions related to child abuse or neglect, [the new law] places them in the position of either complying with the requirements of their faith or violating the law,” he wrote. Estudillo said that the law as passed “modifies existing law solely to make members of the clergy mandatory reporters with respect to child abuse or neglect.” The judge said that the law as written is “neither neutral nor generally applicable” because it “treats religious activity less favorably than comparable secular activity.”
Estudillo pointed out that Washington could have made religious leaders mandatory reporters while allowing a narrow exception for confession.
More than two dozen states exempt clergy from reporting child abuse if they learn about it in a confessional conversation. However, seven states that mandate clergy reporting have removed the loophole that allows exceptions for confession.
The Center Square reached out to the office of Gov. Bob Ferguson, who signed SB 5375 into law on May 2, for comment on the judge’s temporary blocking of the law, but did not receive a reply.
“For centuries, Catholic faithful around the world have sought reconciliation with God through the sacrament of confession,” Jean Hill, executive director of the Washington State Catholic Conference, said in a news release. “This ruling protects that sacred space and ensures that Washingtonians of all religious stripes can live out their beliefs in peace.”
Top Catholic officials in Washington filed a lawsuit against the legislation shortly after it was signed into law, alleging that it violates their First Amendment right to practice freedom of religion and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. That lawsuit was then joined by the Department of Justice.”

This is the problem – ANYTHING can be considered to be sacred within any religion vs. laws that are on the books. Muslims say the same about Islam, which legitimizes child marriage!!!

there are limits to it though. murder, incest, rape, robbery–those are crimes. but if you cheated on your spouse and you confess it, the priest is not supposed to be able to be called as a witness in divorce proceedings.

“A wannabe Florida Man in Washington State stole a 35,000-pound fire engine in Washington state and took it on a frenzied joyride, plowing into more than a dozen vehicles before ditching it and escaping on foot Friday evening. The Everett Fire Department pumper truck was stolen around 11 p.m. Friday as its crew was responding to a medical emergency call on the fifth floor of a nearby building.
By the time firefighters wrapped up with the emergency call and realized the pumper was missing, the first trickle of 911 calls started coming in to report a rogue fire truck had smashed into a pair of parked cars and fled the scene.
A minute later, another emergency call came through that the truck had crashed into another 10 vehicles and that the driver left it behind and ran away from the scene. The suspect remained on the loose late Sunday.”

Just The News: “Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Monday released hundreds of thousands of files related to the 1960s assassination of Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The files come after President Donald Trump ordered agencies to declassify documents involving the assassinations of former President John F. Kennedy, former Attorney General Robert Kennedy and King.
“Today, after nearly 60 years of questions surrounding the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we are releasing 230,000 MLK assassination files” Gabbard said in a post on X. “The documents include details about the FBI’s investigation into the assassination of MLK, discussion of potential leads, internal FBI memos detailing the progress of the case, information about James Earl Ray’s former cellmate who stated he discussed with Ray an alleged assassination plot, and more.
“Thanks to President [Trump’s] leadership, Executive Order 14176 resulted in three, unprecedented interagency efforts to identify, digitize, declassify and release files related to the federal government’s investigations into the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. King,” she added.
The move was made in conjunction with the Justice Department, FBI, CIA and National Archives and Records Administration.”
