Do I?

Today is Luke Bryan’s birthday (born in 1976) and this song is one of my all time country favorites…Do I?

“Do I”

Baby, what are we becomin’?
It feels just like we’re always runnin’
Rollin’ through the motions every day

I could lean in to hold you
Or act like I don’t even know you
Seems like you could care less either way

What happened to that girl I used to know?
I just want us back to the way we were before

Do I turn you on at all when I kiss you, baby?
Does the sight of me wantin’ you drive you crazy?
Do I have your love? Am I still enough?
Tell me, don’t I? Or tell me, do I, baby?
Give you everything that you ever wanted?
Would you rather just turn away and leave me lonely?
Do I just need to give up and get on with my life?
Baby, do I?

Remember when we didn’t have nothin’
But a perfect simple kind of lovin’?
Baby, those sure were the days

There was a time our love ran wild and free
But now I’m second guessin’ everything I see

Do I turn you on at all when I kiss you, baby?
Does the sight of me wantin’ you drive you crazy?
Do I have your love? Am I still enough?
Tell me, don’t I? Or tell me, do I, baby
Give you everything that you ever wanted?
Would you rather just turn away and leave me lonely?
Do I just need to give up and get on with my life?
Baby, do I

Still give you what you need?
Still take your breath away?
Light up the spark way down deep?
Baby, do I?!

Whoa!
Tell me, baby, do I get one more try?
Do I?
Baby, do I?

Happy Birthday Luke!

    1. Morning, Pat! Yep – same here, altho hopefully today, we’ll get sunshine long enough to get my yard mowed…..getting my hair cut later this morning @ 9:30. I’ve not listened to many of the new country singers – I only listen in my truck and then it’s always classic rock or my CDs, which consist of old country singers, like Garth and Tim McGraw, Greenwood and Josh Groban.

Americans know we need a better Healthcare System to properly serve our Great Communities that were abandoned by the Radical Left Democrats. That is why Republicans included $50 Billion Dollars in the “ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL” — to strengthen our most vulnerable Hospitals, including those in Rural areas. BUT, EVERY DEMOCRAT VOTED AGAINST THIS FUNDING! I want to thank all of the Republicans in Congress who worked incredibly hard to make this achievement possible. OUR NATION THANKS YOU, TOO

BREAKING – California’s new bill SB549 to purchase fire-damaged properties is far worse than expected as it forces California taxpayers, including Palisades residents through their property taxes, to fund the buyout, requires 40% of new housing to be for the homeless, overrides community input, and allows rezoning without approval.

Maurene Comey (fired yesterday, daughter of James Comey), was in charge of the Epstein case, the P-Diddy case, and the Ghislaine Maxwell case. And Sam Bankman-Fried.

    What are the chances?

Maurene’s husband Lucas Issacharoff, still works for the DoJ (SDNY), as does James Comey’s son-in-law, Troy Edwards.

I wonder how loud it’ll get if Trump could pull this off. It will be interesting.
President Trump is asking everyone to share this, in three days, most people in the United States will have seen the message. This is an idea that should be passed around, regardless of political party.
The TRUMP Rules: Congressional Reform Act of 2017

    1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office. And no more perks go with them.
    2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
    3. Congress must purchase their own retirement plan, just as ALL Americans do.
    4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
    5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
    6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people (i.e. NO MORE INSIDER TRADING!!!).
    7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts by and for themselves.
Serving in Congress is an honor and privilege, NOT a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work … not get all kinds of freebies. Term limits and treat them like a regular citizen!

    I AGREE!

  5. Just The News: “The Senate voted 51-48 early Thursday to approve $9 billion in federal spending clawback success, substantially cutting foreign aid and subsidies to National Public Radio and PBS in a win for President Donald Trump’s effort to shrink the size of government.

Two Republicans, Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, joined Democrats in opposing the rescissions package.

It now heads back to the House, which previously approved a slightly larger $9.4 billion cut. The Senate modified the package by restoring $400 million in AIDS funding for Africa in order to get it passed.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune praised the vote, saying it was an important first step in creating a new culture in Congress to reduce more spending after an era of about $2 trillion in annual budget deficits.

“I appreciate all the work the administration has done in identifying wasteful spending,” Thune said. “And now it’s time for the Senate to do its part to cut some of that waste out of the budget. It’s a small but important step toward fiscal sanity that we all should be able to agree is long overdue.”

  6. “Jeffrey Zients, COVID Puppetmaster, Shadow President: Zients has played a key role in destroying US medical practice and credibility”

Robert W Malone MD, MS, Jul 17, 2025

EXCERPT: “Two years ago, I did a deep investigation into Biden’s new Chief of Staff, Jeff Zients, who at that time was the wealthiest member of Biden’s White House administration. His net worth is often estimated to be nearly half a billion dollars.

Although Zients was purported not to have any “public health experience,” the truth is that he has spent his entire career working on the industrial side of public health. His primary role in that endeavor was extracting money from the government for his own medical-industrial complex investment funds. He has worked to continuously spin the revolving door between his businesses in the medical-industrial complex and the government- all to the benefit of public health, of course <insert sarcasm>.

In 1992, Zients joined The Advisory Board Corp and then became Chief Operating Officer in 1996. His early involvement with the company marked the beginning of a significant career trajectory. In 1996, he became CEO and Chairman of the company, building a management consulting powerhouse. The Advisory Board achieved astounding financial success and became one of the “pillars of Washington society” (1).

During Barack Obama’s presidency, Zients was first onboarded in 2009, when he became Chief Performance Officer. He was also acting director of the Office of Management and Budget, and then led the emergency effort to fix Obamacare after the troubled launch. In 2014, he became the Director of the National Economic Council, a position he held until 2017.

During his time as director of the National Economic Council, Zients’ investment firm, Portfolio Logic, founded in 2003, settled a multimillion-dollar lawsuit with the Justice Department over allegations that its subsidiary healthcare company committed Medicare and Medicaid fraud. Portfolio Logic LLC, which focuses on healthcare and business services, is still privately owned by Zients and his family. The company’s current valuation is approximately $182 million; however, information about Portfolio Logic has mostly been scrubbed from the Internet.

While leading the rollout of Obamacare (ACA), Zients also held an ownership position in PSA Healthcare (2). Which ownership the Obama White House somehow deemed not to be a conflict of interest.

The “American Prospect” writes of Zients:

Over the span of two decades, the health care companies that Zients controlled, invested in, and helped oversee were forced to pay tens of millions of dollars to settle allegations of Medicare and Medicaid fraud. They have also been accused of surprise-billing practices and even medical malpractice. Taken together, an examination of the companies that made Zients rich paints a picture of a man who seized on medical providers as a way to capitalize on the suffering of sick Americans. In the end, it seems to have all paid off.

Two Fox News articles, written three years apart, document that the Wikipedia page for Biden’s chief of staff was scrubbed to hide many of his corporate past dealings. This includes deleting the details in 2020 relating to Zients’ positions at Bain & Company, Portfolio Logic, Cranemere, and Facebook…..”

  7. Just The News: “President Donald Trump said Wednesday that during his second term, there is a real opportunity to balance the budget, a lofty goal that has eluded four presidents, including Trump as 45th president. Between bringing in an unprecedented $106 billion in tariff revenue thus far, shrinking the size of government thanks to the Supreme Court’s rulings on federal layoffs, and continued rescission packages, he said, “I have a real shot.”

“We’re taking in tremendous amounts of money. You saw that we had a $25 billion surplus last month. And the tariffs haven’t really started by comparison to what they will be,” Trump told Just The News, No Noise television show, in a wide-ranging interview that aired Wednesday night.

Trump noted that the majority of the current tariffs currently relate to automobiles, car parts, aluminum and steel, but that on August 1, the tariffs will extend to other foreign goods, accelerating tariff revenue that could contribute substantially to an alternative to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). “We could use the External Revenue Service, and we wouldn’t even need the Internal Revenue Service. But the money is very substantial. It’s hundreds of billions of dollars.”

Estimates project around $300 billion in tariff revenue by the end of the year, and Trump indicated that a number of nations are reaching out to negotiate. “We’re not going to be ripped off by every country in the world, both friend and foe, anymore, and they know that. And they’re all calling, you know, I sent out letters,” Trump said.

There is a win-win opportunity that each of these nations represents. The letters that the Trump administration sent quantifies the rate at which their tariffs will rise by August 1. If that goes into effect, the Treasury brings in more revenue from foreign nations. If they do make a deal, that produces more favorable trade relations and brings down the cost of foreign goods, which directly benefits the American people and grows the economy. “That is the deal — a letter, I made deals. The best deals are the letters. You just send them out saying, congratulations, you’re paying 25, 30, 40%, we have one at 50% and that’s better than the deal, because any deal sort of comes down from there,” Trump stated.

When asked about what future trade deals look like for the African bloc, Trump explained that individual deals would be the way forward. “You have a lot of countries. Don’t forget, we’re talking about 15 majors, and then you start getting into the medium size.” Looking at the global trade situation, he said, “You have 200 countries, right? So we’re going to put out one number for the remaining close to 150 countries. We’ll just put out one number, and it’ll be probably 10 or 15%.”

Fresh off the heels of a successful trade deal with the country of Indonesia, Trump predicted that India and the European Union could be on the horizon. On a deal with the United States’ northern neighbors, he said a deal with Canada is “too soon to say.”

In a moment of levity, Trump recalled comments Tuesday from Kenneth Langone, the co-founder of Home Depot, who just months ago called tariffs, “bullsh*t.” In a course reversal Tuesday, Langone told CNBC’s Squawk Box, “Look, let me tell you right now, I am sold on Trump. In fact, I’ll say this: I think he’s got a good shot at going down in history as one of our best presidents ever.”

“That is a real turnaround because you didn’t want to vote for him,” Squawk Box co-host Joe Kernan said. Langone responded, “I told you the reason. I want to tell you, I’m a believer. What I’m seeing happening is absolutely nothing short of a great thing.”

The Railroad we were promised still does not exist, and never will. This project was Severely Overpriced, Overregulated, and NEVER DELIVERED. Thanks to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, not a SINGLE penny in Federal Dollars will go towards this Newscum SCAM ever again. This was an ill-conceived and unnecessary project, and a total waste of Taxpayer money — But no more!

  9. EXCERPT: “The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released its annual “Resource Adequacy Report,” earlier this month, and it warns that blackouts are coming if the country carries out the Biden-era plan to retire fossil fuel power plants. That is not sitting well with climate activists.

The report’s executive summary opens with a declaration that the U.S. possesses “abundant energy sources and capabilities such as oil and gas, coal, and nuclear.” It warns that the speed at which utilities are retiring fossil fuel-powered generators and replacing them with unreliable and intermittent wind and solar power threatens to increase the risk of power outages by 100X in 2030.

“This report affirms what we already know: The United States cannot afford to continue down the unstable and dangerous path of energy subtraction previous leaders pursued, forcing the closure of baseload power sources like coal and natural gas,” Energy Secretary Chris Wright said in a statement.

The Biden-Harris administration’s report in April 2024 under then-Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm took on a noticeably different tone. Their executive summary warned that relying on fossil fuel resources to meet reliability requirements is “risky,” and natural gas generators should be replaced with hydrogen or fitted with carbon capture, a technology DOE engineers warned wasn’t affordable or scalable. Granholm’s report mentioned climate change 14 times, but the Trump administration’s report doesn’t mention it at all.Bright contrast between the two reports

Both reports recognize that the growing energy demands of data centers and power plant retirements are diminishing the nation’s energy resource adequacy, but the 2024 report was focused more on emissions reductions than energy abundance. Climate activists have been quick to trash the Trump administration’s report.

“The Trump administration has made clear it intends to use the authority of the federal government to prevent fossil-fueled power plants from closing,” Canary Media reported.

The article complains that the 2025 report doesn’t consider any combination of solar, wind and batteries to be reliable resources, and it quotes purported experts saying the report overestimates the number of power plants that will close by 2030…..”

FTA “California Governor Gavin Newsom has unveiled a plan to build low-income housing to replace property destroyed by the January 2025 Southern California wildfires. Newsom’s plan will put low-income housing in the heart of the rolling hills of Pacific Palisades, a highly affluent area of Los Angeles that overlooks the Santa Monica Bay. The priority is for “geographic proximity to the fire perimeters of the Eaton, Hughes, and Palisades fires,” Newsom explained. The California Department of Housing and Community Development’s Notice of Funding Availability for the $101 million pool details how funding will be awarded. Included is $101 million in funding for multifamily low-incoming housing. Such projects must allocate 40% of its units for the homeless, or individuals who have spent at least 15 days in jails, hospitals, prisons, and institutions for mental illness.

“By prioritizing affordable housing projects that are ready to go, these funds will accelerate household stability, climate and health outcomes in communities,” said Tomiquia Moss, secretary of the California Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency. In the end, Newsom’s grand scheme isn’t about rebuilding, it’s about reshaping California into a socialist playground, forcing affluent communities to foot the bill for his virtue-signaling experiments.”

I actually predicted this when Newscum started talking about LA 2.0 after all the LA fires. Really that was a no brainer. Actually the “affordable housing projects” will “accelerate household” instability and poorer “climate and health outcomes”!! Democrats always spout such noble platitudes that the sheeple actually believe!!! Beginning to think the Newscum had the fires set so he could reshape LA to his leftist thinking and liking!!! Former VP Mike Pence: “The Time Has Come” to Release All The Epstein Files

    Well, well, well…

All those bashing President Trump (and his cabinet) for the Epstein Files issue have a great ally: good ol’ Pence!

Knowing Mike “Judas” Pence has the long knives out for President Trump….if Pence is calling for the release of the files/list, then we ought to know that this is both hurtful to the Trump/MAGA agenda AND it is hurtful to America.

I get it – we want justice for the abused minors we know are trafficked to the powerful.

Yet, this is the Swamp that’s now emboldened to call for for the release. Does anyone REALLY think justice will be served now?

Or will the release destroy the cases against all the human/sex trafficking our DOJ has been quietly racking up, to bring such monsters and depraved perps to justice?

Just a thought as I sip my coffee this morning….

  15. “40 Months? The Eternal FOIA Backlog: Wait times for public records have become so long they undercut the accountability FOIA is meant to provide.”

    OpenTheBooks, Jul 17, 2025

EXCERPT: “One of the key commitments of the Trump administration is to find enormous efficiencies in federal spending by rooting out waste, fraud, abuse and self-dealing. But in order for those changes to be enduring, the feds must also radically improve transparency when it comes to public records requests.

According to new data obtained by Open the Books, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests last year that were labeled “complex” had an average response time of 267 days across 416 agencies. “Simple” requests took an average of 39 days for an initial response, but 31 agencies still took in excess of 100 days on average. At two agencies, that number was more than 800 days. 100 business days is roughly five calendar months. 800 is an astonishing 40 months, or more than 3 years. It’s simply unacceptable.

Download data on FOIA wait times, taken from FOIA.gov, here.

    BACKGROUND

Through the Freedom of Information Act of 1966, Americans have the right to access documents created by the government bureaucracy: emails, text messages, meetings, rules, and regulations. If USASpending.gov can show taxpayers how their money was spent, FOIA requests are the key to understanding how the administrative state is spending their time on our dime.

As the size and scope of the administrative state grows, decision-making processes become more opaque even as those decisions impact our lives more fundamentally than ever. So, our ability to check their work has become more critical than ever before.

Although agencies are required by law to respond within 20 days, in practice many require extensions for months or even years, citing big backlogs of records requests.

When FOIA wait times stretch to months and years, it becomes impossible for We the People to hold agencies accountable.

Here are some of the agencies with the highest FOIA wait times for “simple” requests:

CASE STUDY: Administration for Children and Families (Dept. of HHS)

Open the Books has been waiting for records from one of these agencies, the Administration for Children and Families, since May 2023…..”

In the effort of transparency, the president wanted me to share a note from his physician.” After listing several tests that Trump underwent, she added, “all results were within normal limits.”

Leavitt said that the president’s medical exam found that he has chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that is common in people over the age of 70. Chronic venous insufficiency is when a person’s leg veins struggle to pump blood back to the heart, causing blood to pool.

Trump, 79, does not have deep vein thrombosis, which is a blood clot, or arterial disease, according to the physician’s note read by Leavitt.

The press secretary said that the bruising on Trump’s hand was “consistent” with irritation from “frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.” She concluded, “the president remains in excellent health.”

🔴 BREAKING: The U.S. Army now has a weapon that can instantly fry entire drone swarms.

    It’s not a laser.

    It’s not a missile.

It’s Leonidas — a microwave cannon that sends out a pulse and melts electronics mid-air ⚡

No ammo. No reload. Just pure energy.

One blast = 50+ drones down.

Built for the wars of the future. 🇺🇸

📡 Meet the weapon that makes air defense look like science fiction: [video here]

🚨 Here’s What Leonidas, the U.S. Army’s New Microwave Defense System, Is Capable Of.

No bullets. No missiles. No sound.

The Leonidas system uses high-powered microwave bursts to instantly disable enemy drones mid-air by frying their electronics — not jamming, but physically destroying circuits.

    🔹 360° full-area coverage — engages in all directions

🔹 Neutralizes entire drone swarms in a single burst

🔹 Light-speed reaction time — hits targets instantly

🔹 No ammo required — runs entirely on electricity

🔹 Costs just cents per shot — vs. $100K+ interceptor missiles

🔹 Zero reload time — fires continuously

🔹 Fully mobile — fits on Strykers, trucks, or fixed posts

🔹 Silent & stealthy — safe for use near friendly forces

Already tested by the U.S. Army — and headed to the battlefield.

  26. Hmm…apparently, there are no big plans for Mom’s 94th BD this year – my bro, David (the only one I was looking forward to seeing) is now not coming and it is questionable whether our other 2 brothers are coming or not – not that I give a rat’s ass about them; nor do I care about any of Mom’s asshole friends there in Madison…..so I guess I’ll just send her the card and call her on her BD.

That’s all my Sis is doing….but my Sis is planning on coming up to stay with me over a week-end in September. I’ve got a LOT of stuff in my storage cabinets in my garage that she could either use or sell next summer when she goes to her chicken shows – like a big bin of really nice Xmas decorations. I’ve also got a brand new down sleeping bag that would fit her single air mattress she uses at the shows. Also, some of her great-grands might like the fishing gear – they go to Yankton every year and they just borrow their uncle’s fishing gear. They might enjoy having their own poles, bait bucket & tackle box. I just want someone to use this stuff….and Sis can get more selling stuff than I can here.

  27. Just The News: “The Justice Department on Thursday announced that a former Voice of America (VOA) employee has been indicted and charged with allegedly threatening to kill Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The department accuses Maryland resident Seth Jason, who was a longtime employee at VOA, of making eight threatening calls to Greene and her team over a 15-month span from Oct. 11, 2023, through Jan. 21, 2025.

Jason allegedly used various VOA phone lines connected to studios and control rooms at its headquarters to make the calls, where he allegedly threatened to use firearms to kill Greene, her staff and their family members.

He has been charged with influencing a federal official by threatening a family member, influencing a federal official by threat, interstate communications with a threat to kidnap or injure, and anonymous telecommunications harassment.

“As the Trump Administration official overseeing VOA, I thank [US Attorney Jeanine Pirro] for taking these threats seriously. I am sickened by what Congresswoman [Marjorie Taylor Greene], her staff and their families had to go through as the threats persisted for 15 months!” Senior Advisor for the U.S. Agency for Global Media Kari Lake posted to X.

“It angers me that a taxpayer-funded VOA employee would use taxpayer-funded equipment in a depraved way to threaten the lives of people, including an elected official,” she continued. “If he is found guilty, I hope he is sentenced to the maximum amount of time behind bars.”

Lake added that the indictment is the latest sign of the “rot” inside the VOA “and the US Agency for Global Media. President Trump wants the agency eliminated–I agree with him–it’s time to shut it down.”

If convicted on all charges, Jason faces up to nearly 20 years in prison, Lake said.”
