    1. Yeah, I’ve watched a few episodes and have some saved. But the younger, thinner version just doesn’t resonate with me and I miss the sarcastic asshole vibe! Thank you for thinking of me!

    1. how cool!

I told Filly a little while ago that i have our jelly feeder tied to the railing with deep pink colored yarn. a female oriole was tugging at it the one morning–they like it for their nests–so i’ve been loosely tying smaller pieces of the yarn to the railing and watching them work it loose and take off with it. one sunny summer day i wanna take a walk in the woods and try to spot a nest…lol

FBI Breaks Pakistani Migrant Smuggling Network in Texas

The FBI arrested two Pakistani immigration lawyers in Texas, exposing a smuggling network that imported Pakistani migrants via several forms of white-collar fraud.

The FBI investigation and the arrest follow promises by President Donald Trump’s deputies to supercharge investigations into white-collar migration crime. The Department of Justice (DOJ) reported:

Two Texas residents, Abdul Hadi Murshid, 39, and Muhammad Salman Nasir, 35, both originally from Pakistan, a law firm, and a business entity were charged by indictment with conspiracy to defraud the United States, visa fraud, money laundering conspiracy, and Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO) conspiracy, announced Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Chad E. Meacham.

Murshid and Nasir were also charged with unlawfully obtaining and attempting to obtain United States citizenship.

The Department of Justice is expanding a whistleblower program to reward corporate insiders who expose hidden white-collar migration crimes.

“Today, we have added the following priority areas for tips: procurement and federal program fraud; trade, tariff, and customs fraud; violations of federal immigration law,” said a department official, Matthew Galeotti, chief of the department’s Criminal Division.

The news created concern among companies that sideline American graduates in favor of hiring cheap, and subordinate foreign white-collar workers, often via the mixed-skill H-1B, J-1, H4EAD, B-1/B-2, CPT, and OPT programs.

Those programs are heavily used by clannish Indian managers and their subordinate workers, with the strong backing of India’s government.

“New DOJ Whistleblower Policy Bad News For Employers Of Immigrants And H-1B Visa Holders,” wrote Stuart Anderson, a pro-migration consultant. He added:The policy would allow the DOJ to expand efforts to prosecute employers of immigrants and H-1B visa holders. A Department of Justice memo issued in February 2025 directed federal prosecutors to prioritize immigration-related cases. The new whistleblower policy confirms that the Trump administration’s top issue remains immigration enforcement.

But the news was applauded by Americans who see blatant and continuous discrimination against American graduates, usually by the Indian-born hiring managers and recruiters who now dominate many hiring and recruitment offices across the nation.

  3. Just The News: “Phil Roberton, the bearded patriarch of the smash TV hit “Duck Dynasty,” has died after a battle with Alzheimer’s and a blood disease, his family announced Sunday night. He was 79.

The star’s daughter-in-law Korie Robertson announced the news on Instagram. “We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” she wrote.

“He reminded us often of the words of Paul, ‘you do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.”

She added: “We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.”

Phil Robertson starred on “Duck Dynasty” from 2012 to 2017, and also founded the Duck Commander company. The show is slated for a reboot in the next year.”

  4. Just The News: “Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Doug Collins, highlighted for Memorial Day what he called progress that the Trump administration was making at the agency, including the opening of 10 new medical facilities. Collins made the announcement on social media earlier this month.

“We’re continuing the work that has been done over the last few years,” Collins said on the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show. “Some of this even goes back to the first Trump administration–making sure these facilities are getting open, [including] newer facilities.

The new facilities have been set up in states including Texas, Virginia, New York and Montana, and Collins hopes to soon open a new medical facility for veterans in New Hampshire, saying they have already started the process following an executive order from the president.

Collins is a former GOP representative from Georgia. He served from 2013 to 2021, and after President Donald Trump’s 2024 reelection, was selected to run the Department of Veterans Affairs. During Collins’ confirmation hearing in January, Collins made headlines for saying he would defend a program that would allow veterans to seek medical care outside the VA.

VA’s backlog down 25% since January

Collins said part of the problem with how the VA has been run in the past is that people weren’t allowed to do the jobs they were hired to do. “I got great folks who are freed up to do their job,” he said. “I think that’s the biggest issue. It has become a priority for us, and I appreciate especially the benefits folks doing this.”

Collins said he got a lot of flack from the media for ending the COVID-19 restrictions and bringing people back into the office to work in person. “We just got word of this, just in the last few days, in spite of all that you heard from the mainstream media and some members of Congress about, ‘You’re bringing people back to work. You’re ending the COVID work restrictions. That’s going to cause chaos and stuff.’ Actually, what it’s done is put our folks back in a community of effort to actually get stuff done.”

Collins said that since employees came back to the office on May 5, a record number of cases have been processed.

“Our backlog since January 20 has come down 25 percent,” he said. “It was at 260,000 it’s now under 200,000. And so, these are the kind of things that you know. Look, I’ve always believed this: the American worker is absolutely the best worker in the world. When you free them up, take their hands and let them say, do your job-that’s what you get.”

    1. I think the VA should be every bit as important as food stamps, medicaid, and the like. these are veterans–who served our country. they shouldn’t be at the back of the line imo.

  5. Just The News: “President Donald Trump is expected to commemorate Memorial Day Monday with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, where he will honor those men and women who died while serving their country.

The Center Square’s Morgan Sweeney will be among a small group of White House pool reporters who will cover the ceremony live from the cemetery, where more than 400,000 people are buried, including those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country.

In a proclamation issued Saturday, Trump requested government officials and individual citizens fly American flags at half-staff Monday and to unite in prayer for peace.

“Memorial Day is a sacred day of remembrance, reverence, and gratitude for the brave patriots who have laid down their lives in service to our great Nation,” the proclamation reads. “Throughout our history, brave men and women have been called to defend the cause of liberty on foreign shores in defense of our homeland. Their noble sacrifices are marked by flag-draped coffins and the silent sorrows of those left behind. We must never forget those who have given everything for our country.”

The proclamation continues: “We are eternally indebted to our Nation’s fallen heroes. On this solemn day, as we honor their sacrifice, the First Lady and I ask all citizens to join us in prayer that Almighty God may comfort those who mourn, grant protection to all who serve, and bring blessed peace to the world.”

PENGUIN POOP IS THE NEW CLIMATE CHANGE VARIABLE – YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS UP

Penguins are farting out clouds now—well, sorta. Turns out, when thousands of penguins drop mountains of poop (sorry, guano), it releases ammonia that mixes with ocean gases to make actual clouds.

Scientists found penguin colonies spiking ammonia levels 1,000x higher than normal—and within hours, fog started rolling in. These poop-powered clouds might be cooling Antarctica… or warming it… we’re still figuring that out. Either way, penguins are officially part of the climate system now.

    1. I’ve spent a lot of time at ANC and have attended a number of funerals there, as well as a wedding, in addition to multiple visits to the Tomb. Our good friend who was a guard at the Tomb gave me a tour of the underground facilities where the guards are required to stay during their assignment. My second year at Ft. Meyer, I attended the Easter service in the amphitheatre – man, those stone benches get uncomfortable when you don’t have any fat on your butt! There is a gate from Ft. Meyer to ANC that I could see from my barracks.

  9. EXCERPT: “The historic “American Freedom Train” which went across the country in 1976 to celebrate America’s 200th anniversary may be making a return for America’s 250th birthday celebration.

Train engineer Ross Rowland Jr. and Hollywood legend John Wayne were behind the idea of the rolling museum, which would carry historic American symbols to other states, so that citizens could see historic pieces of American history. Rowland said he worked with Wayne to form a 501c3 and was able to fund the train going from state to state.

Some of the artifacts on the train included George Washington’s copy of the Constitution, the original Louisiana Purchase, Judy Garland’s dress from The Wizard of Oz and Martin Luther King Jr.’s pulpit. That train made its 1976 debut in Santa Barbara, California.

“We were blessed to get five great American companies: General Motors, Kraft Foods, Prudential, Pepsi and Atlantic Richfield Energy to become co-sponsors,” Rowland said on the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show. “Their sponsorship fees paid for half of the $60 million budget and the other $30 million came from the seven million tickets that we sold to the American people.”

He said that the sponsorship from these companies paid for half the $60 million budget for the 1976 route. “The other 30 million came from the seven million tickets that we sold to the American people to go through the exhibit,” Rowland said. “And we went on a 21-month, 48-state trip where 7.6 million people bought a ticket in 138 cities to see the display, all pulled by steam.”

He said that then-President Richard Nixon was very helpful in getting artifacts from the National Archives and the Library of Congress to use on the train.

Bringing the train back this time with the Liberty Bell

Rowland said his goal is to bring back the train for America’s 250th birthday celebration, and he believes it can be done with the help of President Donald Trump. “With President Trump’s help, we’re confident we can do it,” he said. “And this time, we want to carry the Liberty Bell on loan from Philadelphia.”

Shortly after Trump got into office for his second term, he announced that there would be a big celebration in 2026 for America’s 250th birthday…..”

NO ONE CAME. they didn’t even call her to say they weren’t coming! she was angry somewhat, but more depressed that they would get her hopes up and then not even call.

      1. “Paul George, the resident historian at HistoryMiami Museum, said the chickens are closely connected to the people who have moved to Miami over the decades. For a long time, the domesticated birds were mostly kept in backyards, but George began to notice their feral cousins wandering in public areas about 20 years ago.

He said the chickens have a cultural connection to people who grew up in rural areas of Cuba and other parts of Latin America: “They’ve always had these hens and roosters around.” A symbol for the city.

Wild chickens can be found in many Florida communities, from Key West to Tampa to St. Augustine, along with other large cities throughout the U.S., like New Orleans, Houston and Los Angeles.

But Miami’s Little Havana truly adopted the birds as a symbol in 2002 when 6-foot (2-meter) fiberglass rooster statues began appearing outside shops and restaurants along Calle Ocho, which is Spanish for 8th Street, as part of a campaign to celebrate the area’s culture.

More than two decades later, dozens of the colorfully painted statues, designed by the late artist Pedro Damián, continue to attract tourists seeking fun photo opportunities.

Owner Jakelin Llaguna of Little Havana Visitors Center, a souvenir shop along Calle Ocho, said the community is largely fond of the avian inhabitants, which forage around local businesses and parks.

“The neighbors have welcomed them,” Llaguna said. “So they don’t mind if they’re in their backyard or in their front lawn. Nobody messes with them, they’re our mascot.”

  12. Well, I’ve discovered Albuterol is definitely NOT for me! I had horrible side effects – couldn’t catch my breath (BTW, I haven’t had a cigarette for 2 days), my heart started pounding and my whole body was shaking almost like I was having a seizure. That was really frightening and I actually considered going to the ER – problem is, I would never go to the hospital here after what they did to Mom and I honestly didn’t know if I could make the drive to Norfolk. It’s gradually subsiding but man…..that was awful! Still having residual effects….so I decided, what the hell – have a cigarette – I did and the side effects began to lessen immediately…..guess it is the nicotine.

        1. Bear in mind, this is from The Hill:

“President Trump issued a full pardon Monday to a former Virginia sheriff who had been convicted of bribery, alleging that he was a victim of a “weaponized” Justice Department under the Biden administration.

Trump announced his pardon of Scott Jenkins, who was convicted in December of accepting more than $70,000 in bribes in exchange for appointing local businessmen as auxiliary deputy sheriffs in the office.

“Sheriff Scott Jenkins, his wife Patricia, and their family have been dragged through HELL by a Corrupt and Weaponized Biden DOJ,” Trump said in a Monday post on Truth Social announcing the pardon.

Jenkins, who served as the sheriff of Culpeper County in Northern Virginia for more than a decade until he lost his reelection bid in 2023, was convicted on one count of conspiracy, four counts of honest services mail and wire fraud, and seven counts of bribery concerning programs receiving public funds.

Prosecutors alleged that Jenkins accepted cash bribes and bribes in the form of campaign contributions from various individuals, including two who were undercover FBI agents. He offered them badges and credentials despite not being trained or vetted and not offering any services to the sheriff’s office, they argued.

Jenkins was also accused of pressuring local officials to restore one of the individuals’ right to own a firearm despite their status as a convicted felon.

Three of the men, including the previously convicted felon, already pleaded guilty for their roles in the bribery scheme before Jenkins was found guilty. Jenkins was sentenced to 10 years in prison in March.

“Scott Jenkins violated his oath of office and the faith the citizens of Culpeper County placed in him when he engaged in a cash-for-badges scheme,” acting United States Attorney Zachary T. Lee said in a release after the sentencing. “We hold our elected law enforcement officials to a higher standard of conduct and this case proves that when those officials use their authority for unjust personal enrichment, the Department of Justice will hold them accountable.”

But Trump argued that Jenkins was treated unfairly, alleging that the judge in the case, whom former President Biden appointed, refused to accept evidence that Jenkins offered to exonerate himself.

“This Sheriff is a victim of an overzealous Biden Department of Justice, and doesn’t deserve to spend a single day in jail,” he said. “He is a wonderful person, who was persecuted by the Radical Left ‘monsters,’ and ‘left for dead.’”

Trump’s pardon also came after a personal plea for clemency from Jenkins, who reportedly said last month during a webinar that he didn’t have the money to appeal the verdict and believed Trump would help if he knew the facts of the case and his side that he wasn’t able to share in front of the jury.

Trump has regularly argued without evidence that he and other conservatives have been the target of a politicized Justice Department during the Biden administration.

He has issued a wide range of pardons for controversial figures since returning to office, including most of those convicted of crimes related to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot and Michele Fiore, a conservative commentator and former Las Vegas City Council member who was convicted on wire fraud.

The Justice Department under Trump has also launched investigations into several public officials, leading to accusations from Democrats that the president is targeting political opponents.”

  15. EXCERPT: “”Gary Sinise became emotional when he shared how this year’s National Memorial Day Concert on Capitol Hill is more personal than ever due to the incredible honor being given to his late son, “Mac” McCanna Anthony Sinise.

Speaking to “Fox News Sunday” host Shannon Bream, the 70-year-old actor revealed ahead of the event that one of the pieces of music at the Memorial Day concert on PBS is called “Rise” and it’s one of the pieces of music his late son, a composer, composed before he died in 2024 following a five year battle with a rare bone cancer. He was 33.

“It’s an incredible thing,” Sinise said when asked about getting to hear his late son’s music being played by the National Symphony Orchestra. “I had sent them a piece of music that Mac had written. It’s a piece called the ‘Rise.’”

Fox News then threw to a clip of it being performed, and just talking about how this moment is going to be, the actor got all choked up. “And it’s a very patriotic kind of anthem, like … the music will be playing, the Veterans will be there, the audience will be applauding,” Sinise said. “It will be a powerful moment.”

“You know, for me, to be standing up there,” he added, trying to continue his thought when he became overwhelmed and just had to pause and put his head down. “It’ll be. Mac will be right there with us, and it will be a great moment.”

In the months following his son’s death, Sinise found music that his late son had composed. Working with friends, he was able to record two albums, “Resurrection & Revival: Parts 1 and 2.” Per Mac’s request, proceeds will go towards the Gary Sinise Foundation, which his father founded in 2011 to raise money to provide support to our veterans…..”
