This striking bird occupies part of the same habitat ruled by the ancient Inca Empire in South America. Inca Terns are best known by their dashing white mustaches, which are found on both male and female birds.
The species is found only near the cold waters of the Humboldt Current, where the birds feed on anchovies and other small fish. Like Least Terns, Inca Terns feed by plunge diving and surface dipping. The birds also scavenge scraps from sea lions, dolphins, and fishing boats. Declining fish stocks are one of the reasons for this species’ population decline.
Nesting by the Thousands
It’s a gregarious species, nesting in colonies of several thousand birds. The recording on this page, from Pantanos de Villa Wildlife Refuge outside of Lima, Peru, gives an idea of what these noisy colonies are like.
The Inca Tern’s elaborate courtship includes a “high flight,” with the male quickly ascending to several hundred feet, pursued by the female. Pairs choose a nest site in cliff hollows or fissures—sometimes even in the old nest burrow of a Humboldt Penguin. They often return to the same nest site for several years in a row, and both parents incubate and care for the chicks.

“Coastal Peru is a spectacular place to see vast numbers of Inca Terns and other seabirds such as Peruvian Boobies and Guanay Cormorants,” said ABC Vice President Mike Parr.
“It’s hard to imagine that there were once even more seabirds using these waters. The double-whammy of over-fishing and excessive guano harvest—which eliminates nest sites—has been compounded by the effects of the El Niño cycle, which affects fish stocks.”
From Threats to Protection
Rats, cats, and other introduced predators on some islands also affect nesting and breeding success. Islands are particularly susceptible to the effects of invasive species; for example, free-roaming cats have contributed to the extinction of 33 species on islands.
Following years of lobbying by in-country NGOs, the Peruvian government created the Guano Islands and Capes National Reserve in 2009, protecting Inca Tern as well as sea lion breeding colonies on 28 guano islands and cliffs along the coastline.

Yuck! I am soooo sick and tired of all the plumped lips! Ridiculous! I was watching a show on ID last night from the perspective of the daughter of a murderer in Sweden who killed and ate part of her Mother – her lips were all puffed up like that. He was an absolute freak, face & body all covered with tats and REALLY crazy eyes but she loved him. Wackjobs, both of ’em!!! He didn’t go to prison, tho – they sent him to a mental institution and after a period of about 6 years, they started allowing him to leave and go out in public. He lives on his own now and only has to “check in” periodically. Thankfully, he never killed again but still….should have put him down like the rabid dog he is!!!!

Her daughter starts the sob story–that mom’s been here 20 years and isn’t a criminal. she just made a wrong turn. Let’s see–she’s here 20 yrs, didn’t bother to TRY to become a citizen, didn’t bother to try to get a driver’s license and has no insurance to drive a car.

update on Mom: the infection has cleared from her left leg, but not her right. They had gotten her up and waking (with her walker) the day before yesterday and she walked the entire length of the hallway and back. but yesterday the infection in her right leg crept up higher on her calf, so they didn’t walk her at all. When she was admitted, they did a test and determined there were no blood clots in her legs, but yesterday they did a more sophisticated one (?) and we’re supposed to find out the result today.
My cousin was in to see her yesterday and she said Mom was in good spirits and had everyone laughing.

Do they know what is causing the infection? They should fix that first, IMO.
LikeLiked by 1 person
apparently not. they did the scan when she came in and found no clots so they gave her antibiotics. those reduced the swelling in her left leg quickly. her right was doing better when they started walking her, then with the pressure on the leg and foot the redness and swelling increased. that’s why they did a different (supposedly better) scan yesterday to see if there’s a clot the first scan missed.

Well, something is causing it but hey, why find that out when they can keep making $$$ with more tests?!?!

That pipsqueak Zelensky needs to STFU!!!
Just The News: “Russian President Vladimir Putin will not personally be attending the peace talks with Ukraine in Turkey on Thursday, according to a list of officials released by the Kremlin on Wednesday. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to attend the peace negotiations in Istanbul, which will be overseen by the United States. The U.S. will be represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Russia’s delegation will be led by Vladimir Medinsky, one of Putin’s aides, the Kremlin said. Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin will also attend the peace talks, along with other senior military officials.
The news is not unexpected because Putin never promised to attend in person. But the Russian leader did propose the negotiations earlier this month.
Zelensky said in a social media post before the Kremlin’s announcement that he was “ready for any format of negotiations” with Russia but said he would hold off on making final decisions on the negotiations until Russia weighed in.
The Ukrainian has also demanded a 30-day ceasefire to kick off the negotiations. “Russia is only prolonging the war and the killings,” Zelensky said on X. “I want to thank every country, every leader who is now putting pressure on Russia, so that the shelling finally stops, so that meaningful negotiations can take place at a level where real decisions can be made.”

“In northern France, a stallion named Peyo visits terminally ill cancer patients at the hospital to brighten their day…Affectionately known as “Doctor Peyo”…”
Strange Sounds, May 15, 2025
“Originally trained for equestrian shows, Peyo began displaying an unusual sensitivity: after performances, he would instinctively approach individuals who were ill. His handler, Hassen Bouchakour, recognized Peyo’s extraordinary gift and left his career in entertainment to support the horse’s new calling.
Since 2016, Peyo has visited Calais Hospital almost daily, working with the therapeutic organization Les Sabots du Coeur. He indicates which patients need comfort by stopping at their doors and lifting a leg. Bouchakour prepares him carefully for hospital visits, disinfecting him thoroughly and monitoring his bathroom needs with special signals the horse has been trained to give.
Peyo’s presence has brought peace and even reduced pain for many terminally ill patients. In some cases, his visits have replaced the need for heavy medication. To date, he’s comforted over 1,000 patients during their final moments, offering companionship not just to the sick, but also to their families and caregivers. For Bouchakour, Peyo is more than a partner—he’s a life companion and symbol of compassion at the end of life.

This particular level is unusual but horses and other animals pick up clues that our eyes, noses, ears don’t see, smell or hear. They look at life from a different perspective, using different innate natural senses. They can interpret the looks on our faces, any tenseness in our muscles, the pitch of our voice, etc., etc. When a human is frightened or intimidated, our adrenal glands give off pheromones that we can’t smell but they can.

Just The News: “Former U.S. Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel, a Democrat, on Wednesday indicated that he was open to returning to Washington, D.C., as the commander-in-chief in 2028, stating he was “in training” for the next election.
Emanuel is a powerful figure in Democratic politics, having served as the Ambassador to Japan under the Biden administration, and as White House chief of staff during the Obama administration. He also represented Illinois in the House for two terms, and was the mayor of Chicago from 2011-2019.
The Democrat did not specifically state that he was running, but appeared to try to sound presidential during an interview with ABC’s “The View.”
“The American dream is unaffordable. The American dream is inaccessible,” Emanuel said. “That should be unacceptable to all of us … Everybody in this audience, they just want one thing — for their kids to have a shot and the problem is Washington has given them the shaft and that is wrong.”
One of the program’s hosts said the response made Emanuel sound like a presidential contender, to which he replied that he was “in training — I don’t know if I’ll make the Olympics.”
Emanuel has also not ruled out running for other high-level offices over the next couple of years, including for Illinois governor in 2026. He could also run for Chicago mayor in 2027, or seek Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin’s seat next year.”

Ed Martin, Trump’s DOJ Pardon Attorney, Says He’ll Review Biden’s Outgoing Pardons
Our Take: Reading Government Gangsters on Book Club has given me an appreciation for the non-confirmed appointees. They can make real change. Kash certainly did.
The regime went hard to prevent Ed Martin from being confirmed in DC. You could say they weaponized the government against him. Now he’s in charge of going after the weaponization of government broadly, and there’s nothing the (ostensible targets) can do. Delightful.
Finally, the pardons are illegitimate because scrotus was illegitimate.

Planned Russia-Ukraine Talks Upend European Push For U.S. Sanctions On Moscow
Our Take: There is a sovereign pincer in the offing wherein the US and Russia have the western globalist hegemon caught in an optical Kobayashi Maru. While they stump for peace from seemingly opposite sides of the central narrative, the collectivist superstate that is the EU lobbies for the opposite, as Israel continues on the warpath unabated.
This is going to culminate in the mass catharsis event that will be the public meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, who will drop the Kayfabe en route to hyper-normalization, reversing generations of inverted programming.
In the midst of Trump’s already-iconic victory tour masquerading as a negotiation tour, a banger of a quote by Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov was lost in the shuffle:
“Europe is, after all, entirely on Ukraine’s side. It cannot claim to have an unbiased approach… Its approach is not balanced, it is rather pro-war, aimed at continuing the fighting, which is in sharp contrast to the approach demonstrated, for example, by Moscow or Washington.”
Did you catch that last bit? “… by Moscow … OR Washington.”
The pincer has already been closed, and is now in the process of being disclosed, and yes, this was possible to see coming. Israel next on deck. We’re in a war FOR peace … and we’re winning. — Burning Bright

Be angry. Be sad. Doubt the speed. Doubt the need. All narratives deployed.
The signal is found in the third story. Trump has the authority to remove unlawful criminal invaders. No sob story about an austere religious scholar or this generation’s Eliana Gonzales is going to change the black and white legal authorities.

EXCERPT: “On May 9, 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order titled “Fighting Overcriminalization in Federal Regulations,” addressing one of the most insidious threats to American liberty: the unchecked expansion of criminal penalties through regulatory sprawl. For decades, this trend has eroded the separation of powers, undermined due process, and transformed the federal legal system into a maze where ordinary Americans risk criminal liability for unknowable infractions.
While largely ignored by the corporate press, civil liberties advocates should see this order as a long-overdue corrective. It tackles the explosion of hidden criminal penalties, reaffirms the necessity of criminal intent, and forces long-overdue accountability onto the administrative state.
The order accomplishes two key reforms. First, it limits criminal enforcement to cases in which a person knowingly violates a regulation, discouraging the use of “strict liability,” which bypasses the traditional requirement of criminal intent.
Second, it compels federal agencies to publicly identify every regulation they enforce with criminal penalties, along with the statutory authority and mental state required for conviction. That such basic transparency has never been required is an indictment of how far the system has drifted from constitutional norms.
To appreciate how far we’ve strayed, consider the founding era. Originally, Congress held exclusive authority to define federal crimes, and those crimes were few in number, targeting only existential threats to the republic, such as treason, piracy, and counterfeiting. These laws were clear, deliberate, and rooted in the principle that punishment required both wrongful conduct and a guilty mind.
Today, by contrast, legal scholars cannot even agree on how many federal crimes exist. The Code of Federal Regulations spans more than 175,000 pages, burying countless criminal provisions deep within bureaucratic text. A 2022 algorithmic study estimated that the U.S. Code alone contains more than 5,000 federal crimes, and when regulatory offenses are included, the number may reach into the hundreds of thousands.
As law professor Jonathan Turley recently testified before Congress, we may now need artificial intelligence just to identify all the crimes on the books. That is not hyperbole — it is a measure of how disconnected federal criminal law has become from the rule of law…..”

The Federalist: “Smartmatic, a global voting software company, must provide Fox News with certain documents as the news company defends itself in a years-long defamation lawsuit brought on the heels of the 2020 presidential election, a court ruled.
Smartmatic, seeking $2.7 billion in damages, accuses Fox of soiling the company’s reputation, saying Fox reported without evidence that the company’s software had a role in rigging the 2020 election. While the case with Fox was ongoing, Smartmatic was being investigated by a federal grand jury on another matter.
The U.S. Department of Justice criminally indicted three company executives in a “bribery and money laundering scheme to retain and obtain business related to the 2016 Philippine elections” in August 2024. The DOJ said company officials paid $1 million in bribes, allegedly to get contracts to provide voting machines and election services.
To hide the corrupt payments within Smartmatic, the DOJ said, indicted company officials “used coded language to refer to the slush fund and caused the creation of fraudulent contracts and sham loan agreements to justify transfers. The co-conspirators then allegedly laundered funds related to the bribery scheme through bank accounts located in Asia, Europe, and the United States, including in the Southern District of Florida.”
Fox wanted to see documents from Smartmatic’s bribery case to use in its defense. A court denied that request in 2024. But this week, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Judicial Department reversed that decision, directing Smartmatic to share documents and communications showing the effect the DOJ allegations had on Smartmatic’s business.
“We are pleased with the Court’s ruling that materials about Smartmatic executives’ indictments are ‘plainly relevant’ to its lack of damages,” Fox News said in a statement. “The factual evidence shows that Smartmatic’s business and reputation were badly suffering long before any claims by President Trump’s lawyers on Fox News and that Smartmatic grossly inflated its damage claims to generate headlines and chill free speech.”
Because Smartmatic seeks special damages for lost profits, the order notes the company is required to “identify the actual economic losses that were caused by the alleged defamatory statements,” and provide those documents. Fox maintains there are other reasons Smartmatic’s business declined unrelated to its reporting, such as the DOJ’s criminal charges.
Reached for comment, a Smartmatic representative directed The Federalist to a press release characterizing the court’s decision as “grant[ing] Fox limited discovery to which Smartmatic had already agreed.” In the release, Erik Connolly, an attorney for Smartmatic, claimed, “Fox lost this discovery battle before the Court even ruled, and the discovery that Smartmatic has already produced shows that Fox’s campaign of lies was the number one cause of Smartmatic’s injuries. Fox demanded discovery it wasn’t entitled to, then tried to spin its retreat as a win. … Fox trying to blame anyone other than itself for Smartmatic’s injuries is just more lies from Fox.”
Smartmatic is involved in numerous defamation lawsuits, which it tracks on its website.”

OH SNAP! The Governor of Georgia has signed SB 244 into law, which means the Trump legal team could now force Fani Willis to pay their attorney fees in the “RICO” case she brought against him.
The law states: “(b) If the disqualification of the prosecuting attorney results in the criminal case being dismissed against the defendant who filed the motion for disqualification due to improper conduct, the defendant who filed the motion for disqualification shall be entitled to an award of all reasonable attorney’s fees and costs incurred by the defendant in defending the case.
(c) The defendant who filed a successful motion for disqualification of a prosecuting attorney based upon the misconduct of such prosecuting attorney shall file a motion for reasonable attorney’s fees and costs upon the termination of the underlying criminal case. The judge to whom the criminal case was assigned shall consider such motion for reasonable attorney’s fees and costs and shall award such reasonable attorney’s fees and costs as provided under this Code section to such defendant.”
The worst mistake Fani ever made was to go after Trump. She certainly regrets it bigly.

Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just going to tell you what I’ve been told.
There is extreme frustration, rightfully so and I agree, not seeing DOGE cuts being passed through Congress in the form of rescission bills.
I have been told that White House OMB is working with the House Appropriations Committee on a rescission package that we are supposed to see after we get done arguing with each other over this reconciliation bill – Trump’s big beautiful bill.
And I’m still unclear why we aren’t passing executive orders every week. I was told we are waiting to get done with reconciliation. And that a portion of them have already been drafted with input from the WH.
In my opinion we should walk and chew gum at the same time.
So far this week, we saw members of Congress fall asleep in absurdly long overnight committee markups for reconciliation, we have voted to rename a park and a historical site, and voted on the 19th antisemitism bill since I’ve been in Congress. 19! I skipped that vote yesterday because I’m not going to participate in that constant demand.
I just want to pass President Trump’s America First agenda that America voted for in November!
That’s all.
I have no idea why it’s so hard.

Insane!!! How on earth could they make heads or tails of it all??? “This is what the control room on a British submarine looked like in the 1960s.”
Seems to me that most of the materials could be recycled. This is ridiculous!!!
“America’s largest plane graveyard is located at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. This facility, operated by the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG), is the world’s largest aircraft boneyard, storing nearly 3,200 aircraft and over 6,300 engines from the United States Department of Defense.”
That’s one hell of a hornet’s nest!!!
I have no clue what kind of plant this is but it’s certainly a striking bloom!

“The Atrocious Conviction of Reiner Fuëllmich: Reiner Fuëllmich sentenced to additional 3 years and 9 months in prison.”
Greg Reese, May 15, 2025
“As many are unfortunately keen to forget, in 2020, the world was locked down for the claim of a deadly pandemic that still only exists in words. We were then coerced into taking an experimental mystery shot that genetically alters us and contaminates us with nanotech.
In July of 2020, an accomplished class-action lawyer who beat Volkswagen and Deutsche Bank, Reiner Fuëllmich assembled the Corona Committee to help build a case against those responsible for the greatest crimes against humanity.
For a little over three years, Reiner Fuëllmich and his committee collected interviews and testimony from whistle-blowers, experts, and witnesses up until October of 2023, when he was kidnapped in Mexico, deported to Germany, and detained on allegations of embezzlement.
After his arrest, committee member, Viviane Fischer, began publicly attacking Fuëllmich. A leaked dossier from German intelligence instructed agencies to seize control of the Corona Committee, to silence Reiner Füllmich, and to disqualify him from running for public office.
“An analysis should be carried out to assess the possibilities of a declaration of incompatibility that purely prohibits holding political offices due to proven anti-democratic tendencies. Preparation must be made for the initiation of criminal proceedings based on the evidence collected against Reiner Fuëllmich. This entails collaborating with prosecutors and preparing charges for established legal violations and offenses. If necessary, constructions are to be weighed and suitable third parties are to be recruited.” ~Dr. Christof Miseré reading the leaked documentTo accomplish their task of destroying Reiner Fuëllmich, the German Intelligence apparatus utilized core members of the Corona Committee. After years of work, personal money was depleted and a loan was drafted to borrow money from donations. Fuëllmich used his own money as collateral to repay the loan.
This official documented loan was made between Viviane Fischer and Reiner Fuëllmich and the court had no way of proving embezzlement. And so they claimed that it was not a loan, but rather, ‘trust agreements.’ A claim that relies solely on the testimony of Viviane Fischer, who claims that they were “sham contracts,” which should implicate her as well. But she is not being prosecuted.
Fischer was paid a 70,000 euro advance for a fantasy book she is writing. Other members conspired with a notary to steal the one-point-one-five-eight million euros that Fuëllmich was putting up as collatoral. Money that they admitted in court to still having access to.
Despite the sloppy lies, the judges go along with it. Last month, Reiner Fuëllmich was convicted and sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison for embezzlement of donations. The year and a half he’s already spent in jail is not being considered for time served.
The German intelligence services have deployed everyone from bottom feeding child-traffickers working for the police, to the politicians and Judges to derail the efforts of Reiner Fuëllmich. Which should be of no surprise. The tens of millions murdered by a coercive mystery shot are not making the history books. This massive crime is still ongoing. The COVID shots are still on the child vaccine schedule. And people are still dying of heart attacks and turbo cancer.”

Two illegals arrested Tuesday for deportation in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The man in the front passenger seat of the van refused to get out of the car so ICE agents broke the window and pulled him out.
Bystanders shouted at ICE and demanded to see a warrant.
Ridiculous that these people thought they had any say in this deportation matter. If anything, police should’ve arrested them too for interfering with deportation.
@ICEgov
got the illegals they came for.
Thank you for your service ICE.
You are heroes.

So far, the Supreme Court arguments about anchor babies is focusing mostly on the Trump administration’s request to end universal injunctions by low-level courts. Justice Thomas injects a helpful reality check:
“We survived until the 1960s without universal injunctions.”

The Orioles seem much happier with the feeder near the Honeysuckle – they enjoy climbing among the leaves and it gives them a place to hide. I think I’ll leave it there – there were 3 males climbing around and 1 female!

I was just going to post–I had a little male sit on the little table on the deck in front of my window. he sat there singing at the feeder bottoms i salvaged from the bear rampage. they’re sitting on a little stand INSIDE. so funny…guess he forgot where the jelly feeder is.

HUGE SMACKDOWN!!! Trump’s Solicitor General fact-checked Sotomayor on birthright citizenship so brutally that she started interrupting him constantly.
Sotomayor: “Right now we have novel courts who’ve percolated this issue and said you’re violating precedent, not only precedent but the plain meaning of the 14th [Amendment] of the Constitution.”
Sauer: “Respectfully, I think what we have are lower courts making snap judgments on the merits that ignore the fundamental principle of the 14th Amendment that it was about giving citizenship to the children of slaves, not to the children of illegal immigrants who really were not even a very discreet class at that time.”
When will this wretched witch return from the Supreme Court?

They are choosing to ignore “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” in the 14th Amendment – i.e., a US citizen subject to US law! This drives me nuts!!! They are soooo wrong!

The American College of Pediatricians just put out a 🔥🔥🔥 statement calling out all the major medical associations by name for pushing the gender transition craze on kids.
They ask for these groups to “IMMEDIATELY stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex.”
The full @ACPeds
statement ⬇️
“Therefore, given the recent research and the revelations of the harmful approach advocated by WPATH and its followers in the United States, we, the undersigned, call upon the medical professional organizations of the United States, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Endocrine Society, the Pediatric Endocrine Society, American Medical Association, the American Psychological Association, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to follow the science and their European professional colleagues and immediately stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex. Instead, these organizations should recommend comprehensive evaluations and therapies aimed at identifying and addressing underlying psychological co-morbidities and neurodiversity that often predispose to and accompany gender dysphoria. We also encourage the physicians who are members of these professional organizations to contact their leadership and urge them to adhere to the evidence-based research now available.”

The King of country music, indeed! And he’s a REAL cowboy!
Red State: “When it comes to any discussion of country music, you only need to know two words: George Strait. With his buttery-smooth voice, his string of hits, and his amazing career that spans half a century, George Strait has held the title of King of Country Music for some time now, and nobody deserves it more. So, when he broke a song at a recent concert in (of all places) Philadelphia to talk about retiring, the fans reacted emotionally.
Sadly, it doesn’t look like he’ll be coming to Alaska, but as long as there’s an internet, we’ll continue enjoying George Strait. He’s a regular on the Spotify playlist when my wife and I are on long drives through the Great Land, and I’m happy to report that my kids are fans of his as well – I guess we managed to instill that much culture into them.
The King has had a storied career, and there can be no better country bona fides than George Strait’s:
That’s one heck of a career, and that’s for sure and for certain. George Strait’s retirement from touring will disappoint a lot of country fans, but he’s sure earned it. Touring has to be a rough game, with the endless travel, set-up and tear-down, every day a new town, every evening a new venue, a new crowd. The King is 72 now, and he’s coming to the point where he really should be thinking about taking it easy.
We’ll miss him. But we have his extensive catalog of great music to remember him by – and maybe, just maybe, he’ll still favor the fans with an appearance now and then. In the meantime, all I have to say is, “Take it easy, George. We’ll miss you.”
This is way more than appropriate.”
