In this article, we’ll explore everything you need to know about caring for red, white, and blue betta fish.
Appearance of Red White and Blue Betta Fish
Red, white, and blue betta fish are strikingly beautiful creatures. These fish are known for their vibrant colors, which can range from deep red to bright blue. The patterns on their fins and bodies can vary, but they typically feature stripes, spots, or intricate designs.
In terms of size, red, white, and blue betta fish are relatively small. They typically grow to be around 2.5 inches long, making them an ideal choice for smaller aquariums.
If you’re considering adding a red, white, and blue betta fish to your collection, you’ll want to make sure your aquarium is set up to showcase their beauty. Consider using a dark substrate and adding plenty of plants and decorations to create a visually appealing environment.
Caring for Red White and Blue Betta Fish

Like all fish, red, white, and blue betta fish require proper care to thrive. Here are some essential things to keep in mind if you’re considering adding one of these fish to your aquarium:
Water Quality: Betta fish are sensitive to changes in water quality, so it’s crucial to keep their environment clean and well-maintained. Test the water regularly and perform partial water changes as needed.
Diet: Red, white, and blue betta fish are carnivorous and require a diet rich in protein. Feed them a variety of foods, such as pellets, frozen or live brine shrimp, and bloodworms.
Temperature: Betta fish are tropical fish and require a consistent water temperature between 76-82°F. Use a reliable heater to maintain the correct temperature.
Compatibility: Betta fish are known for their aggressive behavior, so it’s important to choose tankmates carefully. Avoid keeping multiple bettas in the same tank, and choose peaceful species that won’t nip at their fins.
Conclusion
Overall, red, white, and blue betta fish are a stunning and captivating addition to any aquarium. With proper care and attention, these fish can thrive and provide you with years of enjoyment. Whether you’re an experienced fishkeeper or just starting, consider adding a red, white, and blue betta fish to your collection.

Good morning! We got some rain last night but it’s bright and sunny today @ 53. Gonna get pretty hot the next few days, up to 88. I’ll be cleaning out my a/c unit today since no doubt I’ll need it. Seeing a few more Orioles now. My purple lilac bush is flowering – the yellow one is growing but no blooms yet.

Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Thursday confirmed a major trade agreement with the United Kingdom after teasing an announcement the night before.
“The agreement with the United Kingdom is a full and comprehensive one that will cement the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom for many years to come,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Thursday morning. “Because of our long time history and allegiance together, it is a great honor to have the United Kingdom as our FIRST announcement. Many other deals, which are in serious stages of negotiation, to follow!”
On Wednesday night, Trump had teased that a “major trade deal” would be announced Thursday morning during a “big news conference.”
The United Kingdom dispatched officials across the Atlantic this week.
The president initially did not signal on Wednesday what country had agreed to the trade deal, or what the details of it would be, but his administration has been working on trade deals with 17 out of the United States’ 18 biggest trade partners recently.
“Big News Conference tomorrow morning at 10:00 A.M., The Oval Office, concerning a MAJOR TRADE DEAL WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF A BIG, AND HIGHLY RESPECTED, COUNTRY. THE FIRST OF MANY!!!” Trump posted to Truth Social.
The announcement will come the same day that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is expected to meet with Chinese trade officials in Switzerland.”

“What Is The Point Of Having A GOP Congress? What’s become increasingly clear is that absent Trump and a few Republicans, the GOP lacks the willingness and ability to govern.”
The Federalist, By: Shawn Fleetwood, May 08, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Throughout the 2024 election cycle, Republicans pledged that, if elected, they would use their congressional majorities to reverse the disastrous policies enacted by President Biden and Democrats. Whether it was bringing down Bidenflation or curbing the border invasion, the campaign message from the GOP was clear: Elect us and we’ll fix it.
But now that they’ve been given the reins of power, many congressional Republicans have shown little interest in actually governing in accordance with the pitch they made to voters just a few short months ago.
On Wednesday, reporting surfaced that a cabal of House Republicans is fighting efforts to end the flow of federal taxpayer funds to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, which also offers harmful chemical and surgical castration procedures. According to NOTUS, this group of lawmakers — which reportedly included Republican Reps. Mike Lawler, Brian Fitzpatrick, and Jen Kiggans — “made it clear to House GOP leadership that they oppose adding a measure to cut federal funding to Planned Parenthood” to the House’s reconciliation package.
So, if slashing the taxpayer subsidization of entities that terminate unborn babies isn’t on the budget chopping block for Republicans, then what is?
It’s apparently not fully repealing Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act or making significant reforms and reductions to Medicaid. Congressional GOPers have come out opposing both options over the course of the party’s reconciliation negotiations.
And what about enshrining President Trump’s executive actions (abolishing the Education Department and DOGE cuts) or other conservative-backed priorities (judicial reform and major spending cuts) into the package? Where’s the sense of urgency among Republicans to do those things?
While time will tell what a final reconciliation bill will entail, the writing on the wall does not bode well for conservative voters wanting to enact generational change at the federal level. Much like their failed 2017 effort to repeal and replace Obamacare, many congressional Republicans seem more interested in protecting Democrats’ overreaching and destructive policies than defanging them.
What’s become increasingly clear is that, absent Trump and a few Republicans, the GOP lacks the willingness and ability to govern.
Unlike their Democrat counterparts, Republicans have no concrete, collective worldview. The party is a coalition of competing ideological factions that fail to agree upon a singular vision of what is viewed as American success, a reality that inevitably produces the type of intraparty policy disputes evidenced in the ongoing reconciliation negotiations.
The GOP’s biggest defenders will often concede that the party has its issues but argue that a Republican-run government is better than a Democrat one because the latter’s policies are far more dangerous and catastrophic. While that may be true, it doesn’t change the long-term consequences of Republicans’ fecklessness.
Putting a Band-Aid on a leaky pipe doesn’t fix the leaky pipe. It merely slows the leakage and neglects to fix the root of the problem. The same is true of having a GOP-run Congress.
If electing Republicans is only about temporarily stopping the bleeding caused by Democrats without repealing their disastrous policies and replacing them with conservative-based solutions, then what is the point of having a Republican-run Congress at all? Under this logic, conservatives would essentially be voting for managed decline over immediate decline. In the end, everyone still loses.
This is in no way an advocation for Democrat control of government. It is a diagnosis of the establishment rot plaguing the Republican Party, and a call to action for conservatives to start taking self-governance seriously.
Being an American citizen doesn’t mean showing up to vote every two to four years and going home until the next election. It’s a duty that requires paying attention to and engaging with one’s representatives (at all levels of government) and involving oneself in the political process as much as possible.
This could mean participating in primaries to oust Republicans who fail to abide by their voters’ wishes, showing up at town halls or local board meetings, or contacting legislators about a certain nomination or bill and encouraging like-minded friends to do the same. It could also include pressuring Trump to make better endorsements and hold weak-kneed Republicans’ feet to the fire for sidelining conservative priorities in critical legislation (like major spending cuts in his “big, beautiful” reconciliation package).
The bottom line is that the Republican Party is only as good as the voters who comprise it are willing to make it.
Yes, the entrenched establishment is going to fight tooth and nail to stop conservatives from taking back their party. But the alternative (i.e., doing nothing) means the current cycle in which Democrats destroy the country while Republicans stand around kicking rocks will continue — and that is a pattern this country cannot afford.”

SALLY Q 🦋 UPDATE
Sally now at peace.. she frequently has a smile on her face as she looks up at the ceiling. Her vital signs are still strong, though she is not eating, only asking for water or diet coke. Her sister came yesterday and they had a long time alone together to make peace.
Our last arrangements….
Sabrina, Sally’s caregiver for 18 years, and I will wash her one last time and dress her for her last earthly journey. We picked out a forest green dress with matching lace to go with her clear beautiful unlined complexion and green eyes…matching stockings and Mary Jane slippers… undergarments trimmed with lace which she hasn’t been able to wear for years.
I’m planning to follow her body to the funeral home, and stay there in her Dad’s hometown until she is taken to the family plot where we will have small private graveside service to honor Sally’s long battle with disease and disability. We may have a memorial service in the Village chapel later for the wider group of family and friends.
Her Dad has picked out a simple pine casket that matches his own. Because Sally collected blue and white Phoenix Bird china – because it symbolized rising from the ashes – and blue and white Spode earthenware china, I picked out a spray of mixed blue and white flowers – roses, lilies, delphinium, hydrangea, mixed greenery, ferns, peace lily leaves to go on the casket. I hope it turns out like in the picture. The name of the spray is Angelic Embrace…a bit sappy, but comforting nonetheless.
https://cdn.atwilltech.com/flowerdatabase/a/angelic-embrace-casket-spray-SY0117523.425.jpgSally and her Dad will be buried side by side in the family plot.
As a gold star widow before I married Sally’s Dad, I plan to be buried at the National Cemetery where I grew up. Before my demise, I have the hope a calling to serve GOD – Ephesians 1:18-22 – with all the many riches and resources He has poured out to me – my art training and ability – writing about all the healing GOD has done in my life and those of others. I am clinging to the promises in Scripture that with GOD’s strength, help and power, even old folks can produce fresh fruit in old age – Psalm 93.
Love and Blessings to all you wonderful people! You mean the world to me!

Ephesians 1:18-23
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened;
that ye may know what is the hope of his calling,
and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe,
according to the working of his mighty power,
Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead,
and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion,
and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
And hath put all things under his feet,
and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
—
Psalm 92
A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.
It is good to praise the Lord
and make music to your name, O Most High,
proclaiming your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night,
to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.
For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
How great are your works, Lord,
how profound your thoughts!
Senseless people do not know,
fools do not understand,
that though the wicked spring up like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
they will be destroyed forever.
But you, Lord, are forever exalted.
For surely your enemies, Lord,
surely your enemies will perish;
all evildoers will be scattered.
You have exalted my horn[b] like that of a wild ox;
fine oils have been poured on me.
My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
proclaiming, “The Lord is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”

“The Fake News Media Come For The Kentucky Derby — You can’t have a healthy society without events like the Derby and the sense of shared heritage that they produce.”
The Federalist, By: Elle Purnell, May 07, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Journalism” failed to win this year’s Kentucky Derby, and the corporate media are taking it personally. MSNBC, however, was lashing out at the beloved cultural institution even before the race began.
“The Kentucky Derby perfectly encapsulates Trump’s vision for America,” wrote MSNBC producer Hannah Holland, and she did not mean it as a compliment. Her complaints against the Derby include its glorification of “the Good Ole Boys of the American South, a bastion of American conservatism,” its relationship to gambling and drinking, and above all, what she deems its Trumpiness.
Most of the piece’s substance comes in the form of a regurgitation of Hunter Thompson’s 1970 essay titled “The Kentucky Derby Is Decadent and Depraved,” a memoir of Thompson’s own drunken experience at Churchill Downs. In it, Thompson returns to his childhood home of Louisville to criticize his childhood friends and caricature what he derided as “the whole doomed atavistic culture that makes the Kentucky Derby what it is.”
Holland, who interprets Thompson’s essay as a “salient metaphor for Nixon’s America,” extends the critique to the Trump era. “In Trump’s second term, culture is already being reworked by those who long for an America that is long past, or maybe never really was. The Kentucky Derby already mythologized this,” she writes.
Holland doesn’t despise the Derby because of the drinking or the gambling, but because of what Thompson calls its “atavistic” quality: its reverence for tradition and nostalgia for the way things have always been done. People tend to only long for past greatness if they believe there was anything great about the past, which — as far as MSNBC is concerned — is the cardinal sin of MAGA and Derby revelers alike.
Of course, reverence for the past is one of the surest defenses against cultural suicide. Respect for our ancestors cultivates a sense of responsibility to steward what they passed down to us so that we can pass it down to our children, as anyone who’s ever read a page of Burke can tell you. There’s a reason that people who want to destroy America and remake it in their Marxist image started with her statues and holidays.
Traditions large and small exist to remind communities of their heritage and bring them together in celebration of their cultural inheritance. You can’t have a healthy society without events like the Derby and the sense of shared heritage that they produce. And you don’t need to splurge on box seats at Churchill Downs to participate; the spectacle is shared by families of varied socioeconomic backgrounds gathered around their televisions in living rooms all over the South. This year, the race brought in 17.7 million TV viewers, the most since the 1980s.
I was one of them, watching a friend’s young children wave homemade signs and cheer for their chosen horses. When I was their age, my family would go over to my grandparents’ house to watch. I have fond memories of “mint juleps” made with Sprite for the kids and poring over the newspaper with my grandmother to pick which horse I wanted to cheer for. In lieu of a bespoke headdress, I donned a wide-brimmed straw hat I’d gotten as a souvenir from Colonial Williamsburg. When “My Old Kentucky Home” commenced, the room was silent. You have to go several generations back to find Kentucky roots in my family, but on Derby day, we remembered them.
Southerners are better than the rest of the country at holding on to our cultural relics, among which the Derby reigns as one of the grandest. MSNBC producers who want to take them from us deserve the same suspicious rejection Thompson received in 1970.
As a Houstonian identified only as “Jimbo” said to Thompson, after berating him for the sacrilege of ordering a margarita on Derby weekend — “Don’t they respect anything?”

SMH – Warren Buffett’s company again…..
EXCERPT: “Whoops! Pennsylvania’s Lackawanna County election office mailed last year’s ballots to 545 Republican primary voters in Scranton for the May 20, 2025 election. Voters caught the mistake and the county has now sent the correct ballot to those voters, the county said in a statement. Voters with a faulty ballot should toss it in the trash, including the envelope, the county says.
The county has an explanation for how this oddity happened, although the county did not explain how the error was not caught before printing or mailing. The 2024 primary ballot had presidential and Senate candidates—no one saw that before printing?
It is another example of the troubles that plague mail-in voting, and the control county election offices lose when they outsource the work taxpayers used to pay county workers to do to a third-party vendor.
In Pennsylvania, primary voters must be a member of the Democrat or Republican party. Independents don’t vote. Party members get different ballots and choose which members of their party to promote to the General Election ballot.
That is why only Republican ballots were affected. Also, a court challenge in the Scranton Republican mayoral race went past the print deadline, so Scranton Republican ballots were printed separately from the rest of the county’s.
Election Systems and Software (ES&S), a Nebraska-based voting machine company that also prints ballots, apologized and took responsibility for the blunder, said Beth Hopkins, director of the Lackawanna Department of Elections and Voter Registration, in a statement.
“During the printing process, an employee mistakenly pulled and printed a file from the 2024 election instead of the current 2025 election,” Kristy Ericson, ES&S director of ballot management services, said in an email, according to the county. “This human error in processing the files was missed in the quality check process. ES&S reviewed all other provisional and Election Day ballots to ensure that files were printed accurately.”….”

Our Take: They built this up for a week and, again, it was a rug. Anytime an influencer (and I include the election official influencers) claim inside information and build up massive disclosure for a week (or more), it’s a rug. Every time.
The thing is, the monetization of everyone’s anticipation from a week of hype is worth it to these actors. They financially benefit from their fake bombshells. And when we call them out on it, many in our audience rage that we are just being divisive.
No. You’re being emotionally exploited for financial gain. The Epstein news that I await are the indictments of the people that raped (and worse) the children. The same day OMG dropped their non-news, yesterday, AG Bondi said this:
“There are thousands of videos of Epstein with children or child porn. And there are hundreds of victims.”
Shame on anyone manipulating and monetizing people’s genuine emotional outrage at these heinous crimes. – Ashe in America

“FBI Director Kash Patel appeared to accuse Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania of using a question to stoke fundraising during a contentious exchange at a Wednesday hearing.
Patel testified before the House Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies about the FBI’s fiscal year 2026 budget request. Dean mentioned her role as a manager in the second impeachment of President Donald Trump over the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol building while claiming Patel was “weaponizing” the government.
“When can I, a former impeachment manager, expect the FBI at my door?” Dean asked Patel, who responded, “You want to know who was targeted by a weaponized FBI? Me.”
https://rumble.com/v6t3iel-put-the-facts-forward-kash-patel-calls-out-left-wing-dem-for-seeking-20-sec.html
Patel sued the Justice Department and FBI in 2023 over efforts to subpoena his personal email during the first Trump administration, when Patel was working for the House Intelligence Committee to investigate the FBI’s spying on Trump’s 2016 campaign. Patel uncovered details about the since discredited Steele Dossier, which alleged Trump colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.
After a back-and-forth, during which Dean brandished a copy of Patel’s book, “Government Gangsters,” the congresswoman went after Patel again, accusing him of committing perjury. “Should we worry more about your memory or your veracity?” Dean asked.
“We should worry more about your lack of candor. You’re accusing me of committing perjury. Tell the American people how I broke the law and committed a felony,” Patel responded. “Have the audacity to actually put the facts forward instead of lying for political banter so you can have a 20-second donation hit.”
Trump nominated Patel, who has a history of criticizing the agency over its probes into Trump, to be FBI director on Nov. 30, to replace Christopher Wray, who announced his intention to step down before Trump took office. The Senate confirmed Patel by a 51-49 vote on Feb. 20.”

In February 2023, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced it would add the COVID-19 vaccine to immunization schedules for children, adolescents and adults. While discussing the issue on “The Tucker Carlson Show,” Carlson asked Weinstein to weigh in on the CDC’s continued push for COVID-19 shots, asking whether there were “no cabinet secretaries who could act independently.”
“OK, I’m going to ask you to pause, and I want you to explain it because it’s been completely buried. But are there no cabinet secretaries who could act independently? Because there is a cabinet secretary [who] I think has purview over this,” Carlson said.
“Well, you’re surely talking about [Health and Human Services Secretary] Bobby Kennedy [Jr.], who, I believe, absolutely would, if he had the power,” Weinstein said.
Carlson followed up with a second question, asking if Weinstein believed the White House was the one making the decision.
“I believe it must be a White House decision because Bobby knows the horror of these shots as well or better than anyone,” Weinstein said. “So I think he must feel that he can’t get there or maybe he’s working there over time, but every month that we wait, more children are being injected with these things. FTA “President Donald Trump’s administration has invoked the state secrets privilege as a federal court probes for information surrounding Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s deportation to El Salvador. U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis revealed the invocation on May 7 in an order requesting briefing from the administration. “The Court requires formal briefing of the Defendants’ invocations of privilege, principally the state secrets and deliberative process privileges,” she said in an order. Her order referenced a court document not publicly available.
U.S. District Judge James Boasberg held a hearing on the same day as Xinis’s order and requested information on how the administration and El Salvador were handling deportees. Both he and Xinis have indicated they could hold the administration in contempt for not following court orders. Questions have abounded in recent weeks as to the deportees’ status and how much control the administration had over individuals already removed to El Salvador.
So far, multiple federal judges have said they thought Trump misapplied the law, specifically doubting that Tren de Aragua’s activity could be considered a foreign invasion under the Act. The Supreme Court declined on April 7 to rule on that question.
Boasberg, however, indicated on May 7 that he was inclined to agree with the other judges, asking Kambli whether the government’s position was that all those federal judges were wrong.”
The Federal District Judges are still in charge of stopping the deportation of MS-13 and TDA members!!! What they are trying to do is get “due process” for all illegal aliens which means they will never be deported!!! This time the coup d’etat is being run by the Federal Judiciary!!! JMO

EXCERPT: “….According to Caroline D. Pham, who had been a CFTC commissioner since 2022 and then tapped by President Trump to be the acting Chairman in January, it appears to have nothing to do with cattle or coffee futures.
Instead, it is a teleworking fraud scheme that she uncovered and sent to their Inspector General to investigate.
Still no clarification on how many staff members are on leave (the statement did say ‘members’ in the plural), but there’s at least one, and it’s a pretty brazen example of a work-from-home rip-off.
It turns out the CFTC ‘Risk Analyst‘ in question was nowhere near the Chicago regional office they were assigned to (coincidentally, where the Chicago Board of Trade is located, go figure).
In fact, the IG inspector’s investigation proved this employee wasn’t even in the country, for crying out loud. But collecting their paychecks, etc., and running US government business out of God-knows-where as if they were in an apartment in Poughkeepsie. Schweet.
Trump’s ‘return to office’ order had to be a bitch, no?
The interesting reference Chairman Pham made regarding the union leadership’s part in facilitating this fraud might also turn out to be uncomfortable for those folks, considering the seriousness of the violations listed in the IG report. Chairman Pham does say ‘criminal violations of the law’ in her official statement and ‘members’ of the staff have been put on administrative leave.
Could be a serious house cleaning coming.
First of all, I’d like to send kudos to Chairman Pham and her IG team for snagging this right off the bat, but I have to hand it to President Trump and his team once again.
They have really picked some terrific people to hold these jobs. The ways it’s been paying off, large and small, almost immediately, is nothing short of amazing to behold in a town as rotten to the core as D.C. and a bureaucracy as sclerotic as the federal government’s.”

“NIH Halts Operations at US Biolab After Shocking Sabotage Incident, Sparking Safety Concerns — Dr. Jay Bhattacharya made the announcement on X”
Sharyl Attkisson, May 08, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “On May 7, 2025, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, head of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced a complete halt to operations at the U.S. Biosafety Level 4 (BSL-4) Integrated Research Facility at Fort Detrick, Maryland. That following a shocking alleged act of sabotage.
Bhattacharya revealed the decision in a detailed thread on his X account (@NIHDirector_Jay). He explained that he learned a contractor at the lab deliberately cut a hole in a co-worker’s biocontainment suit during a personal dispute, compromising critical safety protocols. The incident, reportedly happened in early March but Bhattacharya says he did not learn of it until weeks later.
The Fort Detrick facility is part of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at NIH which was for years run by Dr. Anthony Fauci. It’s one of the few high-security labs in North America designed to handle deadly pathogens such as Ebola, MERS, and avian influenza.
According to Bhattacharya’s post, the sabotage incident is part of a broader pattern of safety lapses at the lab, with issues dating back to the Biden administration. Sources familiar with the matter, as reported by Fox News, noted additional incidents in November 2024 and March 2025, pointing to a “poor culture of safety” that has persisted for years. The FBI has since launched an investigation into the security violations, highlighting concerns over the lab’s handling of select agents—pathogens with potential bioweapons applications.
Adding to the controversy, Richard H. Ebright, a prominent microbiologist and biosafety advocate, commented on X on May 7, 2025, noting that the lab’s operations are managed by Laulima Government Solutions, a Native Hawaiian LLC based in an office park in Orlando, Florida. The company oversees the facility under a $116 million minority-set-aside contract, a detail Ebright criticized as raising questions about proper oversight for such a high-risk operation.
Ebright also referenced a 2017 X thread where he had warned about the lack of psychological screening for researchers handling bioweapons agents, citing a case involving a murder suspect who worked with the plague bacterium, Yersinia pestis, at a similar facility. He argued that the absence of such screening, combined with the increased number of people who have access to select agents—now around 12,000—heightens the risk of bioterror incidents.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), led by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., supports the research pause, which began on April 30, 2025. During this period, all dangerous pathogens are reported to have been secured, and access to the facility has been limited to essential personnel only.
Bhattacharya emphasized in his X thread that the lab will not reopen until he is satisfied there is “zero risk to public safety,” stating, “No more lab-generated pandemics!”
HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon reinforced this stance, telling Fox News, “NIH and HHS take the safety of our facilities and research very seriously. As soon as we found out about this incident, we took immediate action to issue the safety pause until we can correct the safety culture at this facility.”
The facility has faced scrutiny in the past. In 2022, Ebright posted on X about NIAID’s planned experiments at Fort Detrick involving monkeypox, where researchers intended to combine a globally circulating strain with a more lethal variant. He criticized the project for bypassing mandatory risk-benefit reviews under the HHS Potential Pandemic Pathogens Control and Oversight (P3CO) Framework, warning that a lab escape could spark an “epidemic with substantially more lethality.” This history of alleged oversight failures has fueled concerns about the lab’s ability to safely manage high-consequence pathogens.
Further compounding the issue, former NIAID Director Jeanne Marrazzo was dismissed in April 2025, partly due to her failure to address ongoing safety concerns at the facility, including poor documentation of select agents. The lab’s director, Connie Schmaljohn, was also placed on administrative leave following the March incident after failing to report it up the chain of command promptly, causing delays in addressing the breach.
The pause has drawn media attention, though not without controversy. Bhattacharya criticized Wired Magazine in his X thread for a May 2025 article that he claims downplayed the safety breaches and falsely framed Secretary Kennedy’s actions as anti-science. He argued that the publication ignored the lab’s documented risks and the responsible steps taken to protect the public.
As the investigation continues, the future of the Fort Detrick facility remains uncertain. For now, its operations remain on hold, with the incident serving as a stark reminder of the risks inherent in high-stakes biolab research and the urgent need for stricter safety and oversight measures.”

FBI opens formal criminal probe into New York AG Letitia James over alleged mortgage fraud
The FBI and US Attorney’s Office in Albany have launched a criminal investigation into mortgage fraud claims against New York Attorney General Letitia James, a source familiar with the probe told The Post.
The investigation, first reported by the Times Union, follows a federal criminal referral sent by Federal Housing Finance Agency Director William Pulte to the Justice Department earlier this month.
Pulte’s letter alleges James “falsified records” to obtain favorable loans on a home she purchased in 2023 in Virginia and a Brooklyn brownstone she’s owned since 2001.
The allegations further detail James indicated the Virginia home would be her “principal residence” while acting as New York’s top cop, and that she misrepresented the number of units in her Brooklyn residence.

Oh, my! The sweet smell of the Lily of the Valley in front is simply delicious! Just checked the lopes and one seedling has popped thru! Yeah! The seeds I’m waiting on are the last ones I planted from my lopes last year. That will be the test. I still have 2 hills to plant and need to decide which seeds to use – I’ll use whichever seeds do the best.
I ran out to get a Mother’s Day card for my Mom and a 90th BD card for my aunt in MN, then stopped to pick up a local paper. I decided to splurge and bought a combo lottery ticket – price has gone up, of course – $8 now instead of only $5: Mega Millions, Powerball & NE Pick-5. No doubt I won’t win but what the heck! My Sis has won now and then.

“Private Equity and Hospitals: Have They Finally Gone Too Far? Private equity has made significant investments in for-profit hospitals over the last 15 years. Perhaps it’s time to stop them.”
Eric Salzman, May 08, 2025
EXCERPT: “A long time ago when I was a kid, our local hospital was one of the rocks of our community. While it was not usually a destination of choice, you had confidence that the hospital was there solely for the purpose of taking care of you or your family when something went wrong. The hospital was a distinct entity, separate from the various businesses in town whose primary and necessary objective was to turn a profit.
I would hazard to guess that if some speculator came in who wanted to buy the hospital, leverage it up to the hilt, squeeze every last nickel out of it by skimping on supplies, cancel vital services and risk running it into the ground, well, that speculator would have been run out of town on a rail.
Those days are gone. Private equity firms are doing just that – and their tentacles in health care are growing. Last year, they owned 460 hospitals, according to the Private Equity Stakeholder Project’s hospital tracker. Now, they own 488 hospitals. That represents:
The growth in PE-owned hospitals raises a myriad of ethical questions. While the bottom line is important to all hospitals, whether non-profit or for-profit, PE-owned hospitals are on a different level in emphasizing profits, and the consequences can be devastating as we are about to find out…..”

Just The News: “White smoke poured out of the Sistine Chapel chimney at the Vatican on Thursday, signaling the Catholic Church has selected a new pope.
The smoke, then bells ringing in St. Peter’s Square signified the winner secured at least 89 votes of the 133 cardinals participating in the conclave to elect a successor to Pope Francis, according to the Associated Press. The square’s crowd erupted in cheers upon seeing the smoke and hearing the bells.
The name of new pope will be announced later, when a top cardinal utters the words “Habemus papam!” Latin for “We have a pope!” from the loggia of St. Peter’s Basilica, the wire service also reports.
The new pope is then expected to make his first public appearance at some point Thursday.”

“Many Empires Have Fallen from the Absence of Justice — General Flynn’s Perspective of the American Battlefield”
Michael T. Flynn LTG USA (RET), May 08, 2025
ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Millions of Americans rose up and voted for accountability within our government. We are demanding a restoration of trust, because we are a moral society that requires justice.
There are powerful patriots, dedicated servants working with President Trump, but they must be cautious of the bureaucrats that surround them with all the glamour and accoutrements of the office. Our leaders need to stay focused on accountability and the President’s agenda.
We must go after the people that put our country into a declining state. America is in the midst of a coup that started back in 2015. The progressive left went after President Trump and anybody who got in their way, and these people still have a foot in the door. They continue to influence the military and security state complexes.
It’s time to get to work. I want to see our leaders living in their offices or out in the field, as opposed to on the news or at sporting events. For President Trump, it’s about being presidential and getting out amongst the people, but for everyone else, they should be living what it is that they were brought in to do, because we don’t have much time left.
Every day, I hear from thousands of people, asking when accountability will come. We now know when Russiagate began, the details of how it was run, why they did it, and who was actually behind it. Clearly, John Brennan was at the tip of the spear, but there were others. Yet, Special Counsel Durham failed to issue indictments, even when arrests were requested from his team – he refused.
Just last week, Senator Ron Johnson announced falsehoods surrounding 9-11. Former Congressman Kurt Weldon was on recently with Tucker Carlson expressing similar concerns. These are passionate, honest leaders trying to open discussions on 9-11, but will anything actually come of this, will anyone be held to account!?
Let’s go back to the Epstein files. Attorney General Pam Bondi declared that she’d seen it all, and then…nothing. They called a few podcasters and cast them with binders, for nothing. Bondi responded later, explaining that the head of the New York field office had lied to her. Okay, well, then he should be arrested. Remove his security clearance and place him under house arrest. Start an investigation not only into his lying, but also other possible nefarious activities.
The assistant director in charge of the New York field office is one of the top 10 FBI leaders in the country. He should have been detained and held, but instead he was fired and walked out of his office behind a parade of bagpipers…this is what pisses Americans off.
Stop with the firing and start detaining criminals. If Epstein files have been destroyed – go and get the handcuffs! Don’t forget, that under the Biden administration approximately 300K children went missing. Our government either lost them, or allowed them to be trafficked…so where is the accountability there?
People within our government are sitting, planning and waiting out this administration to then continue business as usual, and we cannot allow that. If Democrats regain a majority, we’re done.
President Trump has less than two years to drain the swamp. Once we enter 2026 the focus will move toward candidates and elections.
Judges continue to hold up President Trump, another threat to our country. Americans have lost trust in our justice system as well as the weakening of our rule of law. We watched what the DOJ did to Trump when he was the 45th President. We saw those who attended the J6 rally locked up, Christians were arrested for standing outside of Planned Parenthood clinics, parents were classified as domestic terrorists, and public officials were thrown in prison for exposing corruption in the election system.
The American people simply don’t trust our justice system and are begging for the rule of law to be applied fairly, equally and effectively. Is there a secret grand jury in Washington DC? Are indictments coming? It’s possible, but if that is the case, arrests better commence asap.
What I’m saying is that one of the most important things that we must do domestically right now is get organized, and somebody has got to be in charge below President Trump.
For example, if Trump tells Kristi Noem to start deporting, then she needs to take control. Do we send people to Panama? President Bukele of El Salvador, is going to run out of room, so do we send people across the border of Mexico and let them figure it out since they let them cross the border in the first place?
Operationally, we need to be removing roughly 400k people per month. Is there a command center in place with the number of illegals in each state, planning locations for them to be moved to? A leader has to be living and breathing this agenda item. I know that Tom Homan is the answer, but he doesn’t own resources. The Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense and the Department of Health and Services own the resources…are they responsive to Tom’s needs?
If we haven’t put at least 5 million out by next January, I don’t know if we’ll be able to get back on track. 20 million humans entered our country illegally over the last four years. This is a very real and a very serious and dangerous situation.
There is an undercurrent of MAGA unrest that want accountability, not just of the things that are happening now, but of things that happened in the past.
Innocent people were put in prison, never seeing the light of day, never seeing a judge, never having an attorney. I mean, just incredible things that happened to our country because of the very progressive, very dangerous, leftist, communist, socialist movement in our country. Yet many responsible continue to sit in Congress and spotlight on propagandist media networks.
Once steps toward accountability are taken, and the enemy grows uncertain, then things can turn around. Until then, it is worth reminding ourselves that many empires have fallen from the absence of justice. Let’s not go there yet. We still have time.”

“Who is Casey Means, MD? Extreme elements in the MAHA base have a freakout moment”
Robert W Malone MD, MS, May 08, 2025
EXCERPT: “I have been saddened today by all the attacks on Casey Means, MD. Part of that I suppose, is that the very same people who should be glad to support her nomination for Surgeon General, instead have focused on attacking her. Some of those attacks are clearly aimed at taking down MAHA, MAGA, Sec. Kennedy, and President Donald Trump.
So, who is Casey Means? Dr. Means did not just burst into the public sphere, like some sort of meteor with the publication of her book “Good Energy” in 2024. Casey Means, MD, has long been a spokesperson in the metabolic health community, which is one element of the MAHA movement.
She has long been on the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Disease Reversal and Prevention, as noted at the end of her 2020 article in The Hill, titled: “Healthy food: The unexpected medicine for COVID-19 and national security.” In that 2020 article, she wrote:
“From the perspectives of science and national security, the correct strategy is clear: All Americans need to eat healthier foods, lose weight, and get into good physical shape. All of this supports immunity. It is well established that obesity, diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure are largely preventable with healthy diet and lifestyle. But healthy living is very difficult for Americans facing relentless advertising for processed and unhealthy foods, addictive (salt and sugar) ultra-processed food, entrenched and culturally-reinforced taste preferences, limited access to healthy foods for many Americans, public policy that subsidizes disease-promoting foods, sedentary behavior, and a health care and medical education system that still largely emphasizes sick care over prevention.
In the face of this mess, it can seem like the simplest course is to give up and rely on insulin, statins, blood pressure medicine and other palliative care to moderately extend lives. But the message from COVID-19 is that chronic medications don’t ensure resilience against pandemic viruses. Only good physical health appears to have helped. It is, without exaggeration, a Darwinian moment for America. Americans must build personal immunity defenses through radical changes in diet and exercise, or risk getting sick and dying.”
Over five years ago, she was writing about ultra-processed foods in a National newspaper. At a time when most Americans had never even heard of the word. That shows a long commitment to this cause.
Casey Mean’s journey began when she was introduced to Dr. Mark Hyman’s work on preventing chronic disease through diet while finishing up her residency. During that time, her mother was in the process of dying from cancer due to metabolic dysfunction. (A note: Casey Means was already licensed as a general practitioner (GP) in medicine and has a stellar educational background – she has every right to call herself a physician). She became driven by what she discovered.
Between her mother’s chronic and acute diseases and her research journey, she began questioning the over-reliance of Westernized medicine on the use of medications to treat chronic disease. She also took training and certification from the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) to become an expert in metabolic function, and she worked directly with Dr. Mark Hyman.
Mark Hyman is a longstanding leader in this area and Secretary Kennedy’s close friend and confidant. Dr. Means’ educational path became focused on metabolic health rather than her surgical residency, which all comes down to food. But this is not something that is taught in medical schools. The metabolic health community has a large community of practitioners. As such, she quickly became a leading voice, as early as 2020, long before her best-selling book came out in 2024…..”

EXCERPT: “WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Thursday that he would pull his nomination of Ed Martin Jr. to be the top federal prosecutor for the nation’s capital, bowing to bipartisan concerns about the conservative activist’s modest legal experience and divisive politics.
Trump abandoned his pick to lead the nation’s largest U.S. Attorney’s office two days after a key Republican senator said he could not support Martin for the job due to his defense of rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
“We have somebody else that will be great,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office when asked about the status of Martin’s confirmation. He said it was disappointing, but “that’s the way it works sometime.”
Within minutes of Trump’s announcement, Martin jokingly posted a doctored image of himself on social media dressed in papal garments with the words, “Plot twist” — alluding to the breaking news that a new pope has been elected to lead the Catholic Church…..”

“Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana pressed FBI Director Kash Patel on Thursday about whether convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein killed himself while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Epstein, who pled guilty to sex charges in 2008, committed suicide while awaiting trial after he was arrested in 2019 on new charges. Kennedy asked Patel if he would see the release about what happened to Epstein in his lifetime during a hearing held by the Senate Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies.
“Did Jeffrey Epstein hang himself or did somebody kill him?” Kennedy asked Patel, who responded. “Senator, I believe he hung himself in a cell in the Metropolitan Detention Center.”
“Are you going to release all the information about that?” Kennedy asked in response. “Senator, we are working through that right now with the Department of Justice.”
WATCH: https://rumble.com/v6t4nyr-john-kennedy-asks-kash-patel-when-epstein-files-will-be-released.html
Attorney General Pam Bondi told reporters Wednesday that the FBI is still reviewing “tens of thousands” of videos in the possession of Jeffrey Epstein, some of which she described as “child porn.” Kennedy asked about the timeframe.
“When you think you’ll have it done, Kash?” Kennedy asked, with Patel responding, “I think… in the near future?” “Like before I die?” Kennedy asked, drawing a chuckle from the FBI director, who said, “Senator… we are, we’ve been working on that and we are doing it in a way that protects victims and also doesn’t put out into the ether information that is irrelevant for production for the public, such as CSAM [child sexual abuse material].”
Epstein had extensive ties to celebrities, politicians and business executives, such as L Brands founder Lex Wexner, director Woody Allen, and Prince Andrew, even after his 2008 guilty plea to the sex charges. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates also met with Epstein a number of times, as did employees of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, with Gates meeting with the disgraced financier as late as 2019 despite concerns his then-wife, Melinda, expressed according to a May 2021 report by the Wall Street Journal.
“I don’t know, I’ll speak to the attorney general about that. I really don’t know,” President Donald Trump told Daily Caller White House correspondent Reagan Reese when she asked about the delay in releasing the files during an April 22 White House event. “I know that we’ve done the RFK, the Kennedy, Martin Luther King is out there very shortly, so we’ll find out. But … we’ve really, really announced, we’re doing them in full transparency.”

“The House of Representatives passed legislation largely along party lines Thursday morning that would codify President Donald Trump’s executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Every House Democrat that voted opposed the legislation sponsored by Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Gulf of America Act. The bill is the fifth executive order House passed to codify one of President Donald Trump’s second term executive orders, in only 109 days.
Republican Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon, a moderate lawmaker representing a battleground House district who is mulling retirement, was the lone Republican lawmaker to vote against the bill. He referred to the legislation as “sophomoric” while speaking with reporters. “The United States is bigger and better than this,” Bacon told Fox News Digital.
Greene’s bill would order federal agencies to permanently change the name of the body of water on documents and maps to the Gulf of America. She has characterized the legislation as “an important step in codifying President Donald Trump’s agenda into law.”
“It’s our gulf,” Greene said in a statement following the bill being favorably reported out of committee in April. “The rightful name is the Gulf of America and it’s what the entire world should refer to it as.”
Most House Democrats led by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries slammed House GOP leadership for spending floor time on legislation they viewed as inconsequential and “a sick joke.”
“I urge a strong no against this silly, small-minded and sycophantic piece of legislation,” Jeffries said on the House floor prior to the vote. “Instead of focusing on things that would make a difference in the lives of the American people, we are here on the House floor more than 400 years after the fact, debating legislation to rename the Gulf of Mexico.”
Greene fired back at GOP lawmakers who grumbled at House GOP leadership for prioritizing her bill over legislation seeking to codify the president’s other executive orders. “Some of my Republican colleagues don’t want to vote for my Gulf of America Act which is one of President Trump’s favorite executive orders,” Greene wrote on her personal X account Wednesday. “Boys are you ready to vote to criminalize sex changes on kids?? Because I have that bill on that EO too.”
None of the House-passed bills seeking to codify Trump’s executive orders have passed in the Senate thus far. Democrats have filibustered two of these bills: legislation to sanction the International Criminal Court and bar transgender athletes from girls and women’s sports.
“As the previous administration made it painfully clear, executive orders can be undone and overwritten,” Speaker Mike Johnson said Tuesday at the House GOP leadership press conference. “And that’s why we have to move it through the legislative process.”
“We’re going to codify dozens of President Trump’s budget related executive orders through the budget reconciliation process,” Johnson continued.
Greene’s bill now heads to the Senate where the legislation faces uncertain prospects due to the upper chamber’s 60-vote legislative filibuster.”

“Downtown Kansas City has become a hotspot for illegal street racing and reckless ATV and dirt bike riders tearing through the neighborhoods…
This is from a report today in the US Daily Mail – Now, frustrated business owners and locals are weighing whether to abandon downtown altogether, blaming the Dem-run city’s leadership and law enforcement for failing to curb the chaos and restore a sense of safety.
‘This isn’t a race issue (I wonder why he felt he had to say that?), this isn’t a political issue, this is a safety issue,’ David Lopez, a local business owner, told Fox News, noting how chaos right outside is a constant occurrence, posing extreme danger for the surrounding community. ‘I feel as though this city is about unsafe as it’s been since my family has been at 207 Southwest Boulevard, and that’s 45 years this September,’ he added.
‘When things out of your control start to chip away at the very foundation of what you’ve done for four generations, it hurts.’ Not only is the community feeling the impact as they return to the safety of their own homes by nightfall, but long-standing local businesses are bearing the brunt – watching foot traffic vanish and revenue slip away.
‘People are going to leave – that’s it,’ Lopez, the general manager at Manny’s Mexican Restaurant, added to the outlet. Democrat Mayor Quinton Lucas has faced growing anger over the mounting chaos.”
