Undercover Blues

Today is Dennis Quaid’s birthday! He was born in 1954 and he is one of my favorite actors.  This movie, Undercover Blues, is my all-time favorite Dennis Quaid movie.  This is a synopsis:

A wise-cracking husband and wife (Jeff and Jane Blue) team of ex-Spies arrive in New Orleans on maternity leave with their baby girl. There they are hassled by muggers, the police and their FBI boss, who wants them to do just-one-more job. —Mark Logan <marklo@west.sun.com>

From the IMBD website:

Jane Blue: Let me see if I understand this correctly. You took our child into a knife fight?

Jeff Blue: It was a fair fight – two of them, two of us…

And one of their posted reviews:

This is one fun movie!

Not many movies keep you wanting to watch, like this one does. The plot is very simple; 2 spies on a vacation are asked to do a job while in New Orleans. The outcome…? One hilarious movie! Dennis Quaid & Kathleen Turner are great as Mr. & Mrs. Blue, the title roles. During the movie while they are fighting the bad guys, they’re either bickering over their vacation or what they want to name their daughter. The standout of this movie is Stanley Tucci, who plays street thug Muerte. After a botched mugging of Mr. Blue, which leads to Muerte getting beat up with a stroller, Muerte constantly is following the Blues in the movie to get revenge. You won’t be disappointed with this movie!

Happy Birthday Dennis!

    1. Good morning, Pat and Filly!

We are having cooler weather here in N FL thankfully – those 90+ degree days were hard on all the elderly at the Village.

We have been busy as all get out – moving Sally’s double bed down to her Dad’s apartment – then getting her room and closet cleaned up and ready for hospice to deliver the hospital bed this morning.

Wednesday, is also the regular hospice nurse visit between 12-1:30.

Next we will schedule the lift technician to service the lift motor and convert the SureHands (http://www.surehands.com) lift from a frame to a sling – and hopefully show us how to use it properly.

Sally is often out of it – and difficult to understand and reason with, but that’s nothing new. When she’s in one of her tantrum/emotional outbursts, she is likely to fall out of the lift as she has done several times before – once twisting and breaking both femurs in a very soft slow fall onto a carpeted floor. Longterm wheelchair patients get soft bones without getting weight bearing exercise. Sally’s bones are evidently fragile – even though she has taken calcium faithfully for decades!

Hope you both have a super good day!

then Mom came on the line and i couldn’t hear any more. they wrote him a ticket and later all three drove away. such excitement in a small town…LOL

During the recent Wisconsin Supreme Court race, Milwaukee election officials allegedly processed ballots in secretive back rooms, blocking observers from watching the action. According to The Federalist, windows were covered, mail bins were stacked to obscure views, and the elections director, Paulina Gutierrez, reportedly kept these areas off-limits, even to folks like state Rep. Dave Maxey, who got a stern talking-to when he tried to peek inside.

One room supposedly held stacks of blank ballots, and Gutierrez was seen hauling blue bags around, raising eyebrows about what was really going on. The city claims it’s all legit—sorting ballots by ward and such—but the lack of transparency is maddening. Wisconsin law says observers should have a clear view of the public parts of the process, yet here we are with frosted glass and restricted access. Sources say it’s a “perception issue,” which is putting it mildly.

Here is my problem with this; every time democrats, who are in charge of administering elections in blue counties, pull stuff like this it makes every single sane person question the results of the election, and I would like to understand who that benefits?

We cannot continue to watch things like this and then see no action afterwards because while I am not saying this would’ve changed the outcome, what I am saying is that this is against WI state law, it’s shady and it makes everyone question the legitimacy of the race.

NEW: Records obtained by Sens Grassley and Johnson provide further proof DOJ/FBI was in cahoots with Biden WH on “Arctic Frost” investigation, the Jan 6 case against the president.

As I reported in the docs case, Biden WH general counsel Jonathan Su also was working with DOJ and NARA separably to concoct the documents case.

Biden WH turned over govt cell phones used by Pres Trump and VP Pence.

This is from dirty Wash FBI field office official Tim Thibault to others–including WFO chief Steven D’Antuono–about obtaining the devices.

    MASSIVE
    MASSIVE

    BREAKING:

The DOJ revealed that Trump assassin Ryan Routh tried to buy military weapons from Ukraine to kill Trump, including a ROCKET LAUNCHER.

Routh asked the Ukrainian Military for a “Stinger or RPG to take out Trump”because Trump would be “Bad for Ukraine”

Routh goes on to say the weapons of war — that are paid for and supplied by the US military — get lost “all the time on the battlefield” and no one would miss them.

Has Ukraine illegally smuggled US weapons to kill other world leaders or State enemies?

Most importantly, the Ukrainian Government KNEW about the Trump assassination in advance!?!?

    Did they warn anyone?

    This is absolutely massive.

Idaho becomes first state to legalize firing squads for convicted pedophiles
“Just like capital murder destroys lives, aggravated sexual abuse of a young child devastates victims and families for generations.”

    https://thepostmillennial.com/idaho-becomes-first-state-to-legalize-firing-squads-for-convicted-pedophiles

Idaho Governor Brad Little has signed into law a bill that will allow courts to impose the death penalty on individuals convicted of aggravated lewd conduct with children aged 12 and younger. The legislation, which creates a new criminal charge, will go into effect on July 1.

The law establishes that aggravated lewd conduct with children under 12 is punishable by execution. In cases that do not meet the death penalty criteria but involve victims up to age 16, mandatory prison sentences will apply.

To seek the death penalty, prosecutors must prove at least three of 17 specific factors, such as multiple incidents of abuse, the use of force, or transmission of a sexually transmitted disease to the child.

State Representative Bruce Skaug said the legislation, “establishes a strong deterrent, making it clear Idaho will not tolerate these offenses.” The law aligns with other states that have also implemented stricter penalties for child sex crimes.

“Idaho currently has some of the most lenient statutes for child molestation and child rape in the nation,” Skaug explained.

Governor Little echoed those sentiments, saying that sexual abuse of children deserves the highest punishment. He added in a statement that Idaho will be the only state to make death by firing squad the primary method of execution, which would apply to pedophiles.

“Just like capital murder destroys lives, aggravated sexual abuse of a young child devastates victims and families for generations,” Little said.

The legislation received overwhelming support in the Idaho Senate before arriving on the governor’s desk. It also gained the backing of Attorney General Raúl Labrador, who told KTVB, “Idaho’s children and future generations deserve that measure of protection.”

“In President Trump’s housing market, there is no room for fraud, mortgage fraud, or any other deceitful act that can jeopardize the safety and soundness of the housing industry,” said William J. Pulte, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fannie Mae. “Since my swearing-in, we fired over 100 employees from Fannie Mae who we caught engaging in unethical conduct, including facilitating fraud, against our great company. Anyone who commits fraud against Fannie Mae does so against the American people.”

  6. “Ok Doomer – I find your lack of faith disturbing….”

    Jordan Sather, Apr 08, 2025

“It’s a scary world out there. Once one begins waking up past the Matrix, it’s easy to fall into the mindset that everything is going to shit and there’s nothing we can do to make things better. This is taking the black pill.

Let’s rewind a few years. In the beginning of 2021 after Joe Biden “won” the election, many truthers thought that our country wasn’t going to make it through the next 4 years. Heck, rewind a bit more to 2015 and a good portion of the “awake” crowd thought we were going to get rounded up in FEMA camps. These dooming thought waves come and go within alternative media – give it enough time and one gets inoculated to them, realizing that life goes on and things aren’t as bad as the rage baiters online make it seem.

And boy, this week has been rage bait galore amongst the America-First citizen journalist crowd. I hesitate to name names, if you’d like to see me put specific people on blast you can follow me on Twitter or Telegram, but in essence their drama queening goes something like this:

    ”Trump is owned by Israel!”
”Epstein files will never get released!”
”RFK is selling out to Big Pharma!”
”The economy is crashing and we’re headed to WW3!”

Jeeze guys, Rome wasn’t built in a day and it won’t be ended in one.

We like to rag on the mainstream media for their fear-based rage bait, yet people in the alternative media do it just as much. Pulling on heavy emotions is the best way to sell, whether it’s selling a product or selling a post for engagement.

Let’s put some perspective into this and stay in our time machine back in 2021. (oh man, that was 4 years ago already…)

If I would have told you, “Hey, don’t worry. In 2025 Trump will be inaugurated as president again and he’s going to have Kash Patel as his FBI Director, RFK Jr. as HHS Secretary, and Elon Musk would be leading a charge into uncovering fraud in government budgets. They’re going to work to declassify Epstein and JFK records, close the border, clean out Big Pharma, end the DEI nonsense, and rework the economy with tariffs and international trade negotiations.”

YOU WOULD HAVE CALLED ME CRAZY!

But now that we’re here, and not even a few months in, apparently it’s still not good enough for some people…Instant gratification is a big problem in our society.

I remember back when I first started waking up, circa 2011/12. I got sucked into a lot of the conspiracy clickbait stuff, thinking the fake NESARA thing was going to get implemented and save us all and that the Deep State mass arrests were just around the corner (yeah, 12 years ago..). When that didn’t pan out, I went into a downward spiral of blackpilling, which resulted with being terrified of those FEMA camps, Jade Helm, and all that nonsense around 2015.

I think some of the folks falling for the Doomerism right now may have been on that same psychological trajectory. Recently woken up after COVID without realizing the gravity of what we’re dealing with, get hopped up on some hopium of being saved, and the subsequent let down causing anger and frustration.

I eventually realized there’s no use in being a negative Nancy pants, and started putting in some work to do my part in saving the World (enter: Destroying the Illusion on YouTube). Ideally, one would pull themselves out of that doomer mindset without continuing to go around the downward spiral. ‘Tis the Hero’s Journey of the conspiracy theorist.

I wonder what would happen if all the black pillers took the energy they put into being angry and frustrated and channeled that into resourceful projects? Are YOU black pilling and wasting precious time and energy? Is there anything YOU could be going to effect change in your immediate vicinity? Ask yourself that. If you’re scared, angry, upset, or frustrated – GOOD (Jocko voice).

Channel that passion into something – whether it’s a blog or brand online researching and shitposting memes, or running for local office, or getting active in your kid’s school, or even growing a garden and working on your decoupling from the system. There’s so much we could all be doing, action wise, along with working on our own shadows and mental programming.

Maybe the people bitching and moaning online could use an ayahuasca journey or something to help with their deep rooted traumas, some shrooms for the doom and gloom. Hope they figure things out – would be sad to be 80 years old looking back and regretting all the time and energy wasted on being upset and getting into internet arguments (that you may even turn out to be wrong over, oof).

Anyway – I, for one, am quite grateful to be able to post on platforms like Substack, Twitter, and Instagram with no censorship anymore. To be able to have financial accounts on PayPal and elsewhere again. To be taken seriously by (most) people when talking about election fraud, pharma corruption, fake media, and elite pedophile rings. Zoom out and things are changing, and fast.

Demanding more results is absolutely necessary and should not be stopped, though with differing perspective the world ain’t so bad right now, either. It’s not about being “positive” or “negative” but being realistic. There’s good and bad to take from any situation. I try to focus on being grateful for the “good” while still being mindful of the “bad”, making sure the future actions I take are moving toward a reality where the “bad” gets taken care of. (Don’t avoid the ‘negative’, that’s a common spiritual mind virus).

Relax, live life, and have FAITH. As long as we continue putting in effective work at the local level, change is guaranteed at a grand scale. Maybe we all just need to go outside and touch some grass.”

  7. Just The News: “President Donald Trump on Tuesday night brought three former Hamas hostages on stage during a dinner for the National Republican Congressional Committee.

The three Israeli former hostages praised the president for his commitment to help bringing them home, stating that he has now rescued 33 hostages. There are still 59 hostages being held in Gaza.

“Thank you very much President Trump,” one of the former hostages said. “I’m here and I’m alive. President Trump, you saved my life. You saved the lives of 33 hostages. Because of your efforts, and you setting the hostages crisis at the high priority of what you are doing among all the enormous issues and things that you’re dealing with … We all owe our lives to you.”

Another former hostage said he felt optimistic about when he heard that Trump was elected, because he was “someone who makes things happen.”

“We knew we need someone who do things, that’s President Trump,” he said. “We are here because of President Trump, thank you. It’s really surreal to be here … I’m a simple man. I’m running the bar in the kibbutz … Now I’m here with President Trump who’s running the world. We are thankful.”

The third former hostage asked lawmakers to help bring the rest of the hostages home.

“We need you to bring all the hostages home,” she said. “There’s 24 that’s alive and 59 to come home to their families … So I’m begging you all to help us. We need your help. Thank you.”

  8. EXCERPT: “Donald Trump’s first term began with an unsuccessful attempt to repeal Obamacare. His second term could begin with a successful attempt to expand it.

That’s one possible outcome from a strategy Senate Republicans are attempting to use to pass their budget and spending blueprint. The wonky accounting maneuvers could make it easier to pass a permanent extension of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) provisions, but they could also make it easier to pass a permanent extension of enhanced Obamacare subsidies in the process.

    Arcane Budget Procedures

At issue is Section 3004 of the budget resolution introduced in the Senate. This particular provision allows the Senate Budget Committee chairman to “revise the allocations of a committee or committees” for legislation “relating to using more realistic assumptions regarding current tax policy, which may include extending provisions” of the TCJA.

In plain English, as I have explained previously, this language would make it easier to pass a permanent TCJA extension by making it look like such an extension would cost nothing. Linking cost estimates to current policy — as opposed to current law, under which the individual tax cuts included in the TCJA will expire at the end of this calendar year — would yield no financial effect, at least on paper.

Senate Republicans came up with this tactic because, by and large, they are spineless. They could pay for a permanent TCJA extension by cutting an equivalent amount of spending, not least because the Biden administration left many programs and regulations spending money that Republicans could claw back. Alternatively, Senate Republicans could try to find 60 votes to overcome budget points of order.

Each of those options would require effort, however. Rather than making choices to pare back some (not even all, just some) of the Biden administration’s spending spree, Senate Republicans instead decided to conjure up an accounting gimmick to make it look like a TCJA extension costs nothing.

    Obamacare Provisions

There’s a catch, however. Obamacare’s enhanced subsidies, most recently passed in the summer of 2022, also expire at the end of the current calendar year. If Section 3004 allows for budgetary adjustments “relating to using more realistic assumptions regarding current tax policy,” that could open the door to a Republican Congress extending the subsidies…..”

  9. “Texas’ Move To Cement ‘Gulf Of America’ Is A Tribute To This Great Country”

The Federalist, By: Chuck DeVore, April 09, 2025

Much of the dirt that colours the water is likely re-suspended sediment dredged up from the sea floor in shallow waters. The tan-green sediment-coloured water transitions to clearer dark blue water near the edge of the continental shelf where the water becomes deeper. The ocean turbulence that brought the sediment to the surface is readily evident in the textured waves and eddies within the tan and green waters. Tropical Storm Ida had come ashore over Alabama and Florida, immediately east of the area shown here, a few hours before the image was acquired. The storm’s wind and waves may have churned up waters farther west. A second source of sediment is visible along the shore. Many rivers, including the Mississippi River, drain into the Gulf of Mexico in this region. The river plumes are dark brown that fade to tan and green as the sediment dissipates. Rivers throughout the region ran high, likely carrying more sediment than usual into the Gulf. The rivers also carry nutrients like iron from soil and nitrogen from fertilizers. These nutrients fuel the growth of phytoplankton, tiny, plant-like organisms that grow in the ocean surface waters. Phytoplankton blooms colour the ocean blue and green and may be contributing to the colour seen here.

“Why should we keep a moniker tied to a faded empire when America’s imprint is what matters now?

On Monday, I had the privilege of testifying before the Texas Senate in favor of two bold legislative measures: Senate Bill 1717 (SB 1717) and Senate Joint Resolution 63 (SJR 63), both introduced by Republican Sen. Mayes Middleton of Galveston. These bills strike “Gulf of Mexico” from Texas statutes and the Texas Constitution, replacing it with “Gulf of America.”

It’s a practical and patriotic move. Texas, with its rugged independence and 367 miles of coastline, is the perfect state to lead the charge. Add to this Sen. Donna Campbell’s SB 1410, and you’ve got a Lone Star trifecta of common sense.

Let’s start with the why. The “Gulf of Mexico” is a dusty relic of Spanish colonialism, a name slapped on maps by conquistadors like Hernán Cortés after they toppled the Aztecs in 1521. Sure, it stuck — Giovanni Battista Ramusio etched it into cartographic history by 1554 — but that was half a millennium ago. Since then, the United States, and Texas in particular, has transformed this watery expanse into an economic juggernaut. Why should we keep a moniker tied to a faded empire when America’s imprint is what matters now?

President Donald J. Trump got it right on Jan. 20, when he signed Executive Order 14172, rechristening the U.S. Continental Shelf portion of this gulf as the “Gulf of America.” In his Feb. 9 proclamation for the first “Gulf of America Day,” Trump nailed it: “This area has long been an integral asset to our once burgeoning Nation and has remained an indelible part of America.” He’s not wrong. From the moment Texas joined the Union in 1845, this gulf has been less about Mexico’s past and more about America’s future. Texas aligning its laws with this federal push isn’t just symbolic — it’s a recognition of reality.

The numbers back it up. The Gulf of America is an economic powerhouse, and the U.S. dominates it. In 2023, trade through Gulf Coast ports like Houston, New Orleans, and Mobile clocked in at $550 billion. Think oil, petrochemicals, and manufactured goods. Compare that to Mexico’s east coast ports — Altamira, Tampico, Tuxpan, Coatzacoalcos — which together generated $157.5 billion in trade. That’s right: U.S. Gulf trade is 3.5 times bigger. The Gulf isn’t Mexico’s lifeline — it’s America’s.

Then there’s the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), where nations stake their claims under international law. The U.S. controls 268,341 square miles of the Gulf, or 45 percent of its total area. Mexico edges us out slightly with 285,716 square miles (48 percent), while Cuba trails at 31,394 square miles. The rest? Unclaimed “doughnut holes” in international waters. Point is, no one controls an absolute majority, but America’s stake is massive, and Texas, with its sprawling coast, anchors that claim. Calling it the “Gulf of America” isn’t arrogance; it’s arithmetic.

History offers precedent aplenty. Nations rename geography all the time to reflect power and identity. The Falklands are the Malvinas to Argentina. The Persian Gulf morphs into the Arabian Gulf depending on who’s talking. South Korea pushes “East Sea” over Japan’s “Sea of Japan.” Even the English Channel becomes “La Manche” across the channel. With over 100 such dual-name disputes worldwide, Texas tweaking “Gulf of Mexico” to “Gulf of America” to conform with federal orders is hardly radical. It’s routine.

SB 1717 and SJR 63 are straightforward. The bill swaps out the old name in Texas statutes, launching the “Gulf of America Statutory Language Initiative” to ensure every new law reflects the change. The resolution tees up a constitutional amendment for voters on Nov. 4, 2025.

Together, they’re a one-two punch to modernize Texas law and sync it with Trump’s vision. Critics will cry foul, citing “tradition.” Let them. Tradition didn’t stop us from taming the frontier or drilling the oil that powers the world. The Gulf of America isn’t just a body of water; it’s a testament to American ingenuity, Texas tenacity, and the free market’s triumph.

This isn’t about erasing history; it’s about writing the next chapter. The Gulf of America reflects who we are today: a nation that commands its destiny, not one shackled to a 16th-century map. Let’s rename this gulf for the country, and the state, that made it great. America’s waiting.”

  10. EXCERPT: “Americans have seen a lot of Tim Walz lately as the failed vice-presidential candidate has held town halls nationally criticizing national Republicans. In a telling interview, he admitted to the New York Magazine this week, “90% of the time, I can be really good, but about 10% of the time, I can be a train wreck.”

And in an interview with Jake Tapper that was itself something of a train wreck, he rejected the conclusion that every American with a pulse now acknowledges: that Walz and other Democrats should have forced Joe Biden off the presidential ticket in light of his obvious cognitive decline.

Walz is indeed often a train wreck, and as Walz tramps around the country seeking to place himself as the foil to congressional Republicans and Donald Trump, to really understand what a disaster he is, we only need to look at the ongoing mess he has left behind in Minnesota.

A Fiscal Disaster of Walz’s Own Making

It is not hyperbole to say that Minnesota’s finances are in free fall. After boasting a record-setting $19 billion surplus in 2022 — larger than the full budgets of 20 U.S. states — the Minnesotans learned earlier this month that it faces a staggering $6 billion budget deficit. How did this happen?

In 2023, Walz and his Democrat allies in the legislature embarked on the most reckless spending spree in Minnesota history, funneling billions into pet projects and giveaways for every left-wing constituency imaginable. The surplus wasn’t used to shore up Minnesota’s long-term financial stability or to return money to taxpayers. Instead, it was squandered in the most reckless fiscal step taken in Minnesota’s modern history.

Walz’s relationship with the truth has always been a distant one, and this case was no exception. Walz tried to falsely pin the financial crisis on the new Trump administration, despite state officials confirming that federal policy did not affect their budget projections…..”

  11. “JD Vance unloads on Mitch McConnell for political pettiness”

The Daily BS, Van Halpert, April 9, 2025

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Vice President J.D. Vance has publicly criticized Senator Mitch McConnell following the latter’s vote against Elbridge Colby, President Trump’s nominee for Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. McConnell’s dissent marks a significant moment in the ongoing tensions within the Republican Party, particularly regarding Trump’s influence and foreign policy direction.

Vance condemned McConnell’s vote against Colby as an act of political pettiness. Colby was confirmed in a bipartisan Senate vote of 54-45, with McConnell being the only Republican to oppose. McConnell criticized Colby’s foreign policy views, particularly his focus on the Indo-Pacific over Ukraine and the Middle East. Colby, who previously played a key role in shaping the 2018 National Defense Strategy, has been viewed as a controversial figure due to his stance on prioritizing U.S. military focus towards China, which some believe undermines support for Ukraine and other global allies.

In a statement explaining his vote, McConnell expressed concerns that Colby’s approach represents a return to an Obama-era strategy, which he described as “geostrategic self-harm.” He argued that this shift could embolden adversaries and weaken alliances.

Vance did not hold back in his criticism of McConnell, taking to social media to express his discontent. He stated, “Mitch’s vote today—like so much of the last few years of his career—is one of the great acts of political pettiness I’ve ever seen.” This remark underscores the growing frustration among Trump loyalists regarding McConnell’s consistent opposition to Trump’s nominees.

The fallout from this vote is indicative of a larger struggle within the Republican Party. Vance’s comments reflect a sentiment among many in the MAGA movement who feel that McConnell’s actions are detrimental to the party’s unity and effectiveness. As McConnell prepares to retire in 2026, calls for a new direction in leadership are becoming more pronounced.”

Stephen Miller, White House Deputy Chief of Staff: “Over the last twenty or thirty years, we’ve seen serious imbalances in our global trade system.

But now, thanks to President Trump’s strength and leadership, we’re on the verge of fixing it. Here’s an astonishing fact: we have a $50 billion trade deficit with Japan in automobiles alone.

This is a country we protect and stand by as an ally. Similarly, we have another $50 billion automobile trade deficit with South Korea—another country where U.S. troops are stationed, keeping them safe and free, often far from their own families.

Why should the United States carry the burden of defense while running massive trade deficits with these countries?

President Trump is committed to correcting these imbalances and, at the same time, working with Congress to turn America into the world’s manufacturing hub—with the lowest taxes anywhere.”

“Ukrainian envoys are set to visit the U.S between April 11 and 12 to discuss a new mineral deal, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg Tuesday.

The first mineral deal proposal was tabled after a blowup between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the oval office, which resulted in Zelenskyy’s early dismissal from the White House. However, Zelenskyy and Trump both continued to express interest in signing a deal after the incident, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent describing the first deal as a “win-win” for all parties.

The first deal would have Ukraine contribute 50% of revenues from state-owned mineral resources, including oil and gas, aimed at investing in extraction projects. However, the first deal did not include any security guarantees from the U.S.

Kiev is reportedly holding out for better terms in the deal, which they hope will be more favorable to Ukraine economically, sources told Bloomberg, who preferred anonymity as the negotiations weren’t public knowledge. The meeting will include deputy ministers from Ukraine’s economy and justice ministries.

The Trump administration has been pushing for peace between Russia and Ukraine, as the war continues to rage on three years later. Since the war began in 2022, the U.S. has spent more than $170 billion aiding Ukraine. Despite the large investment, the frontlines have remained largely stagnant, with neither side taking vast swaths of territory since Ukraine initially repelled Russia’s attack on Kiev in 2022.

The intention behind Zelenskyy’s visit was originally to sign the first mineral deal, but the Ukrainian leader made comments openly criticizing the U.S. for not stopping Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump and Vice President Vance took exception to the comments, which prompted the dust-up.

“You’re gambling with World War III, you’re gambling with World War III and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to this country,” Trump said to Zelenskyy during the altercation. Trump halted all military aid to Ukraine after Zelenskyy said peace with Russia was “very, very far away” in the fallout from the oval office scuffle. Zelenskyy then changed his tone in reaction to Trump’s aid freeze, floating prisoner exchanges, a halt on air operations and naval operations as potential first steps towards peace.

Ukraine has entered a temporary ceasefire with Russia on commercial shipping vessels in the Black Sea and energy infrastructure, but a general end to hostilities has yet to be agreed upon.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and the State Department did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.”

  18. “Trump Slaps ‘Proud’ China With 104% Tariffs”

The United States has hiked tariffs on all Chinese imports to a staggering 104%, escalating the ongoing trade conflict and wiping out another $1.5 trillion from US stock markets on Tuesday.

China had originally been set to face a 34% tariff increase on Wednesday, as part of President Donald Trump’s so-called “reciprocal” measure targeting virtually all US trade partners. However, after Beijing responded with a proportional 34% duty of its own, the US president raised the blanket tariff to a total of 104%.

“After all of the abuses they’ve perpetrated, China is attempting to impose additional unjustified tariffs,” Trump said at the National Republican Congressional Committee dinner in Washington on Tuesday.

The White House published an amendment to the April 2 executive order in which Trump declared a “national emergency” over US trade deficit and imposed a baseline tariff on all imports to the US. The US administration said that nearly 70 countries had sought negotiations to mitigate the impact of the tariffs, as Trump pursues “tailored deals” with individual nations. – RT

Our Take: Trump is waging war on the CCP and the globalist system it represents, which has been pillaging both east and west for 40 years. You know who else has been waging war on the CCP? Xi Jinping. The CCP is NOT China. The Soviet Union is NOT Russia. The Deep State is NOT the USA. – Burning Bright

  19. “Fannie Mae Fires More Than 100 Employees for Unethical Conduct, Including the Facilitation of Fraud”

Fannie Mae said Tuesday it fired more than 100 employees for unethical conduct.

“Since my swearing-in, we fired over 100 employees from Fannie Mae who we caught engaging in unethical conduct, including facilitating fraud, against our great company,” William J. Pulte, chair of Fannie Mae’s board of directors, said in a statement. “Anyone who commits fraud against Fannie Mae does so against the American people,” he added.

In his Tuesday statement, the Pulte said under the Trump administration there would be no room for fraud, mortgage fraud or “any other deceitful act that can jeopardize the safety and soundness of the housing industry.” Pulte was sworn in on March 14 after being appointed by President Trump.

Fannie Mae CEO Priscilla Almodovar praised the move. “I would like to thank Director Pulte for his empowering of Fannie Mae to root out unethical conduct, including anyone facilitating fraud,” Almodovar said. – The Hill

Our Take: Why did it take President Trump coming into office for his second term to sort out fraud and abuse in Fannie Mae? To be honest, this should have happened in 2008, but “too big to fail” or whatever. Happy it’s happening now, of course, but I have zero tears for the “what about these jobs” narrative.

  20. “‘We Did It’: Ovechkin’s Record Carries a Key Political Message”

A powerful shot, the puck crosses the goal line, the siren sounds, and a legend throws his hands up in the air while the crowd at the UBS Arena in New York explodes in cheers. Both American and Russian fans rejoice, as the man scores his 895th goal.

It happened – on April 6, 2025, Alexander Ovechkin, playing for the Washington Capitals, scored against fellow countryman Ilya Sorokin, the goalie for the New York Islanders, to set an all-time NHL record. This moment will be etched in the memories of millions of fans; it will be recounted for decades to come. “Cool, but how does this help Russia?” people who aren’t into sports may ask. Ovechkin’s “timeless” record means a lot for Russia. Here’s why.

During a phone call on March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump discussed hockey and the possibility of organizing games between Russian and American players. Why did the two leaders discuss this? Perhaps they were talking about Ovechkin’s dizzying success in Washington. It’s no secret that the Kremlin keeps a close eye on Ovechkin, and during his last speech before his inauguration, Trump referred to the Russian hockey star as a “great player”.

Moscow and Washington share something in common: hockey and the legendary Ovechkin. Moscow nurtured his talent, spotting and cultivating his skills, giving him his start in professional hockey, while Washington has become Ovechkin’s second home – the city where he has become an NHL legend. Russians adore Alex Ovechkin, and Americans love him just as much. – RT

Our Take: This article provides some fascinating analysis, and while it may seem a bit trivial and superficial – the notion that a sport (hockey) could somehow influence geopolitics – I’ll remind you that when President Trump and President Putin spoke on the phone last month, Putin pitched the idea to Trump that the two countries organize a series of hockey games between their respective professional players, in an effort to restore diplomacy and good will between them.

Alexander Ovechkin is a living hockey legend – he just broke Wayne Gretsky’s all-time scoring record – and has spent his entire 20-year career playing in D.C. for the Washington Capitals. He also happens to be very good friends with Vladimir Putin, and plans to lead the Russian national team at next year’s Winter Olympics in Italy.

And to add another wrinkle to the geopolitical angle of this story: After Ovechkin tied Gretzky’s record on Saturday, and was expected to break in a game the next day, the goalie for the Ukrainian national team came out and said, “I hope his legs will be torn off and he won’t succeed.”

They say that politics is downstream from culture, and the sooner we start building a positive cultural foundation with Russia, the better. Hockey seems like the perfect place to begin. – GhostofBasedPatrickHenry

  21. “Rubio: ‘We’re Not Doing Idiotic Things Anymore’”

PJ Media, Sarah Anderson,1:26 AM on April 09, 2025

    AP Photo/Jacquelyn Martin, Pool

EXCERPT: “Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared on Donald Trump, Jr.’s podcast, “Triggered with Don Jr.,” on Tuesday evening, and he had a lot of interesting things to say. And as he does, he explained them in a way that is rational and makes sense — something I’m still getting used to after the last four years.

    https://rumble.com/v6rtx11-exclusive-interview-with-secretary-of-state-marco-rubio-triggered-ep.232.html

First up on the agenda was the Supreme Court’s Monday night ruling on President Donald Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act (AEA). In case you missed the news, the high court essentially determined that Trump could use AEA with some guidelines, including that deportees must be notified of their deportations “in such a manner as will allow them to actually seek habeas relief in the proper venue before such removal occurs.”

I know many of our readers were upset over this, but Rubio pointed out that the most important thing to come out of this ruling is that “you have to go before the judge wherever those people are being held before they’re sent abroad.” In other words, someone who is detained in Texas can’t go looking for a more liberal or sympathetic judge in, say, Washington, D.C. to appeal their deportation. Here’s more on that from Rubio:

Because right now, what was happening is these activists were basically just finding a court – they would find – they’d forum shop.  They’d find, ‘Where can I find a friendly federal judge that gives me the highest probability of victory in court?’  So you have over 600-something District Court judges, and so you have a guy in New Jersey or a guy in New York or a guy in D.C. basically enjoining the entire country.  I mean, one of these federal judges has the power to stop the entire federal government in all 50 states and every one of our territories.

And so I think the most important thing the court said is, number one, if you want to fight these things, you have to fight it in the jurisdiction where they’re being sent from or being held – in this case, Texas – which clearly, for whatever reason, these lawyers, they don’t want to go to Texas to file it, right?

And then the other is just the power of the federal government to conduct foreign policy.  We have a judge right now that is basically trying to order the federal government, the Executive Branch, to bring people back.  In essence, they are trying to order us to go to the president of El Salvador and tell him you must now send people back to us.  So we can’t live in a country – it’s just not constitutional – where judges are now conducting the foreign policy of the United States.

Rubio also reiterated that the Trump administration is using the AEA to kick some really bad guys out of the country, despite what you might read from the liberal media. “…[I]t’s almost automatically assumed that if you are somehow removed from this country you are a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize…. You read these articles; these are the greatest people who have ever lived, who just somehow all happen to be illegally in our country.”

Rubio also spoke up on something he’s alluded to lately: how mass migration is potentially being weaponized by other countries. In recent weeks, the secretary of State has suggested that perhaps the Nicolás Maduro regime that has taken over Venezuela is currently sending criminals, like members of Tren de Aragua (TdA), to the United States to destabilize us. Maduro and his group of thugs will tell you TdA no longer exists, but it’s long been suspected that he’s actually working with them, using them to kill people he perceives as a threat and sending them to other countries to wreak havoc.  It’s something that Rubio said is “right out of Fidel Castro’s playbook.”…..

  23. “In the United Kingdom (England, No. Ireland, Scotland, etc.), they tax (you can call it a tariff if you’d like) damn near everything people buy there. The value added tax (VAT) was introduced in 1973, replacing Purchase Tax, and is the third-largest source of government revenue, after income tax and National Insurance. It is administered and collected by HM Revenue and Customs, primarily through the Value Added Tax Act 1994.

VAT is levied on most goods and services provided by registered businesses in the UK and some goods and services imported from outside the UK. The default VAT rate is the standard rate, 20% since 4 January 2011. Some goods and services are subject to VAT at a reduced rate of 5% (such as domestic fuel) or 0% (such as most food and children’s clothing). Others are exempt from VAT or outside the system altogether.

VAT is an ‘indirect tax’ because the tax is paid to the government by the seller (the business) rather than the person who ultimately bears the economic burden of the tax (the consumer). Opponents of VAT claim it is a regressive tax because the poorest people spend a higher proportion of their disposable income on VAT than the richest people. Those in favor of VAT claim it is progressive as consumers who spend more pay more VAT.”

The weather service has “paused” the translations because its contract with the provider has lapsed, NWS spokesperson Michael Musher said. He declined further comment. I’m fine with the NWS confining its warnings to the dominant language in the US of A. First, it is not national. Second. Weather cannot be predicted for anyplace with precision, after I learned the hard way about a tornado that struck while I was in another part of town. It took the NWS over 24 hours to decide what to name this event that tore trees up and left dehris in its path.

“Republican Texas Rep. Jodey Arrington introduced a bill Wednesday aiming to prohibit individuals acting on behalf of Russia, China, Iran and North Korea from purchasing U.S. property located near military installations.

The bill, titled the Protecting Military Installation and Ranges Act, would empower the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) to review real estate investments in the U.S. by entities affiliated with China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea, according to the legislation’s text first obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. The law would apply to real estate purchases located within 100 miles of a military installation or 50 miles of a military training route, special use airspace, controlled firing area, or military operations area.

The CFIUS is a committee authorized to review certain transactions involving foreign investment in the U.S. and certain real estate transactions by foreign individuals, in order to determine the impacts of such transactions on U.S. national security, according to its website.

“It is supremely naïve and dangerous to allow foreign actors affiliated with our greatest adversaries to purchase land next to U.S. military installations,” Arrington told the DCNF.

The legislation would also prohibit the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Transportation (DOT) from issuing final determinations regarding specified projects that involve a real estate transaction under review by the CFIUS until it has concluded its review.

“I’m proud to lead this common sense cause to prevent these dangerous land grabs that threaten our national security and the safety of my fellow Americans,” Arrington said.”
