Good morning! Glad you enjoyed them. Oh, yuck on your weather! Bright sunshine here again today, w/temp of 26, now up to 27 – with the sunshine, it shoots up quickly. Hopefully, that will be one of the last truly cold nights. I’ll be planting some cantelope by the end of the week, then add one each week for a total of 5 plants. All of the trees & bushes are budding but no Lily of the Valley yet.

Yeah, I couldn’t do that to the cashier. It’s not her/his fault they are stupid and/or poorly educated. I forgot to scan something once at a WM and didn’t realize until I got out to my truck. I went back inside to pay for it since it was the right thing to do.

The big win for Trump in the scotus today was not the resumption of deportations under the AEA(alien enemies act) (but that was big also). The major win was the court narrowing the federal district judges’ jurisdiction They once again narrowed the apability of the APA (admnistrative procedure act) which is the main law the vast majority of these unconditional judicial rulings have been made under.
The left is using the APA like Macgyver used bubble gum to get them out of sticky situations. Without the APA, they can’t judge shop as much. They can’t make class action lawsuits that have national injunctions attached.
In short, the scotus with this order, along with the one last week, is narrowing the use of the APA to reign in the lower federal district courts. There are already judicial remedies for almost all of these cases that do not involve a hand-picked federal district court needing to issue a national injunction or TRO.
Grants and contracts should be brought in federal claims court.
Immigration issues should be brought as habeas cases, and most can be held in front of immigration judges.
Goverment firings should be brought in front of the merit systems protection board.
The left doesn’t want to follow proper procedures for a host of reasons, like added costs, unfriendly judges could set precedent, extra work, time, etc. So, they invented the APA macgyver option. Hence, about 50 TROs/injunctions later, the scotus is smacking this practice down and telling them that this effort will not result in favorable opinions for them.
In short, the scotus is telling the federal district courts not to draw outside the lines regardless of the merits of the case because they will be denied on jurisdiction grounds if they reach the high court.

Just The News: “House Republican leadership is eager to pass the Senate’s version of President Trump’s budget resolution by the end of the week but faces headwinds from budget hawks in its own ranks ahead of the upcoming holiday recess.
Members of the GOP-led House returned to Capitol Hill on Monday to resume a legislative session that was derailed last week over a standoff on proxy voting – with the passage of Trump’s budget resolution a top priority. However, several Republicans have objected to the Senate budget resolution, arguing that it doesn’t cut enough spending.
House Speaker Mike Johnson and Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna came to an agreement on Sunday regarding proxy voting for new parents. Luna had argued that the Democratic-led resolution was needed for new parents while Johnson said it was unconstitutional. Trump endorsed Luna’s push for proxy voting on Thursday.
“Speaker Johnson and I have reached an agreement and are formalizing a procedure called ‘live/dead pairing’—dating back to the 1800s—for the entire conference to use when unable to physically be present to vote: new parents, bereaved, emergencies,” Luna posted on X on Sunday about the agreement.
“Thanks to POTUS and his support of new moms being able to vote when recovering from child brith [sic] as well as those who worked hard to get these changes done. If we truly want a pro-family Congress, these are the changes that need to happen.”
Johnson announced the deal on Sunday afternoon on a conference call with GOP lawmakers, during which he also advocated for legislators to support the Senate’s budget resolution that passed early Saturday morning.
The budget resolution is critical to advancing Trump’s legislative agenda on the southern border, tax cuts, and energy policy, as it allows Republicans to avoid a Senate filibuster by Democrats.
A hard ‘no’
Johnson, a Louisiana Republican, reportedly plans to vote on the Senate blueprint resolution as early as Wednesday. GOP leadership is looking to pass the budget resolution before breaking for Passover and Easter the next two weeks.
Whether Johnson will have enough votes for the resolution’s passage is unclear, considering he has only a seven-vote majority in the chamber and a few GOP House members have already said they oppose it.
House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington, R-Texas, said over the weekend that he was concerned about the Senate’s budget resolution. “The Senate response was unserious and disappointing, creating $5.8 trillion in new costs and a mere $4 billion in enforceable cuts, less than one day’s worth of borrowing by the federal government,” Arrington said. “It also sets a dangerous precedent by direct scoring tax policy without including enforceable offsets.”
Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., remarked on the contrast between the House’s $1.5 trillion in proposed spending cuts and the Senate’s $4 billion in cuts. “This is offensive, and so I’m a hard no on this junk,” Ogles said about the Senate’s budget resolution. “Look, $1.5 trillion? That was a serious offer from the House of Representatives. A $3 to $4 billion cut is offensive to the American people. It’s a joke. It should not have been presented.”
“The budget instructions passed by the Senate are pathetic,” Rep. Victoria Spartz, R-Ind., posted on X on Saturday.
Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, also voiced his opposition to the Senate budget resolution on Saturday. “If the Senate’s ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ budget is put on the House floor, I will vote no,” Roy posted on X.
“In the classic ways of Washington, the Senate’s budget presents a fantastic top-line message – that we should return spending back to the pre-COVID trajectory (modified for higher interest, Medicare, and Social Security) of $6.5 Trillion, rather than the current trajectory of over $7 Trillion – but has ZERO enforcement to achieve it, and plenty of signals it is designed purposefully NOT to achieve it,” he continued.
Conciliation a tall hurdle
“The House Budget is seemingly more modest in its objectives – perhaps OVERLY modest – in laying out a floor of $200B in reductions in spending increases (not cuts). But that ‘floor’ establishes important guardrails to force Congress to pump the brakes on runaway spending and to achieve critical reforms to badly broken Medicaid, food stamp, and welfare programs currently being abused to subsidize illegals, the able-bodied, and blue states,” Roy added.
House Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Harris, R-Md., told Fox News on Monday regarding the Senate budget resolution, “At this point, I would vote against it.” “I mean, if the Senate actually is able to deliver on meaningful deficit reduction, we could just pass the Senate amendments to the House budget resolution,” Harris added. “But again, I’m not willing to do that until I see what the deficit reduction, the actual deficit reduction that the Senate has in mind, is.”
Vice Chairman of the House Budget Committee Lloyd Smucker, R-Pa., also said he will not vote for the Senate budget resolution.
“The Senate’s passage of the amended House resolution is a critical step forward. However, with $5.8 trillion in costs and only $4 billion required savings in their instructions, I cannot vote for it,” Smucker said in a statement on Saturday. “We can and must do better. Let’s come together next week to craft a fiscally responsible solution.”
If the House doesn’t pass the Senate budget resolution as is, then Republicans will have to decide whether to make changes and send it back to the upper chamber or have GOP leaders from both chambers come to an agreement in a conference meeting.”

Just The News: “A federal appeals court on Monday reinstated the Department of Government Efficiency’s access to sensitive information housed by government agencies. The American Federation of Teachers has accused the Trump administration of violating federal privacy laws by giving DOGE access to systems with personal information on millions of Americans without their consent.
U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman issued a preliminary injunction last month on DOGE’s access to information at the Education Department, the Treasury Department and the Office of Personnel Management, ruling that the Trump administration failed to justify why it needs access to the data, according to the Associated Press.
The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned that ruling in a split decision.
Judge Steven Agee said Boardman misread legal precedent by requiring “nothing more than abstract access to personal information to establish a concrete injury,” and he ruled that the government demonstrated “a strong showing that it is likely to succeed on the merits of their appeal.”
Judge Julius Richardson sided with Agee in his opinion, but said more information was needed to prove that the access was actually necessary. Both judges were appointed by Republican presidents.
Judge Robert King, who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton, dissented.”

Just The News: “Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on Monday night offered buyout options to department employees, as the Trump administration continues to drastically reduce the size and scope of the federal workforce.
The internal memo, which was reviewed by Politico, does not indicate how wide the workforce reduction would be, but it could include employees at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
DHS employees considering leaving the department early can choose among three buyout options: A cash incentive to retire early or quit, or a deferred resignation with a brief period of paid administrative leave.
“[The buyout options] reflect our commitment to aligning our workforce with the evolving mission needs while supporting the personal and professional goals of our dedicated employees,” Noem wrote in the memo.
The offer comes after Noem stated at a Cabinet meeting last month that she was looking to eliminate FEMA, which has been accused of improperly spending money to house illegal migrants, instead of using it to respond to natural disasters.
Employees have until April 14 to opt into the buyout option.”

“The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops announced Monday that it is ending its partnership with the federal government for refugee resettlement in the United States, citing the Trump administration’s funding freeze.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will not renew cooperative agreements with the federal government for services related to refugee resettlement and other migrant services, the organization announced on its website. The decision comes after President Donald Trump, immediately upon entering office in January, signed an executive order freezing refugee resettlement programs.
Trump’s executive order shut off an incredible money tap for many non-governmental organizations that rake in millions of taxpayer dollars to facilitate massive refugee resettlement into the U.S. The USCCB was slated to earn $65 million in grants for such services before the executive order came down, according to court documents from its lawsuit over the matter.
Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio, president of the USCCB, in an accompanying op-ed announcement Monday, said the Trump administration forced his hand. “In the past, when government funds did not cover the full cost of these and other care programs, they were generously supported by the faithful,” Broglio said. “However, the work simply cannot be sustained at current levels or in its current form with only the church’s resources.”
“I want to be clear that this decision to end our resettlement agency does not mean walking away from helping refugees and others,” Broglio continued. “The Catholic Church will find new means to help those we have served in the past and will serve in the future.”
Trump signed an executive order on Jan. 20 that called for a temporary suspension of all refugee resettlement into the U.S. In the order, Trump highlighted the plight of small towns like Springfield, Ohio, and Charleroi, Pennsylvania, that have dealt with incredible logistical and infrastructure challenges due to the large influx of refugees. The president also noted that other major jurisdictions, like New York City and Massachusetts, have declared emergencies due to the weight of their migrant populations.
The Biden White House, in contrast, allowed more than 100,000 refugees to settle in the U.S. throughout fiscal year 2024 — the highest resettlement number in roughly three decades.
Standing to lose millions in government contracts, the USCCB sued the Trump administration in February after the State Department cut funding for refugee admissions. Despite its legal challenge, the Catholic group decided the best path forward was to end its collaboration with the federal government.”

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “We’re all familiar with the story of Jeanne d’Arc – Joan of Arc to us Anglophones. Now the patron saint of France, Joan was a young woman – barely more than a girl – who led armies during the Hundred Years War. She took part in the siege of Orleans in 1428/29, when she was only 16 years of age, and her arrival was said to have inspired the besieged French troops to throw off the British siege. This was, at the time, said to have been the fulfillment of an old prophecy about an armored maiden who would save France.
There’s a lot more to it, of course, but I’m not here to write about the history. Today, in the United Kingdom, the schools are erasing Joan of Arc’s status as a brave young woman; school children now are being taught that she was “non-binary.”
Yes, really.
It is, indeed, an attempt to rewrite history. It is an attempt to erase Joan of Arc’s femininity and the remarkable deeds she did, not only as a teenager leading an army in the 1400s, but as a teenaged girl. This is insulting to the memory of Joan of Arc, and it’s insulting to France and its history. Now, there’s a long history of Britain and France tossing insults at each other, but this isn’t just an insult; it’s an utterly absurd abandonment of any semblance of reality.
“Non-binary,” of course, wasn’t even a concept in the 1400s. One noted scholar of French history has already weighed in, as has a women’s rights advocate:
This crap likely started in 2022, when the Globe Theater put on a play entitled “I, Joan” which presented Joan of Arc as “non-binary.”
History is replete with examples of tough, determined women, some of whom were even involved in armed conflict, from Joan of Arc to Anne Bonney. But stupidity like this effectively erases their place in history, reducing them to fictional avatars for a reality-denying social agenda. Once again, Clark’s Law of Social Issues Degradation applies: “Every social movement will continue until it reaches absurdity.”
This is well beyond absurdity. It’s deliberate dishonesty in support of an agenda that, likewise, denies reality. Joan of Arc was a woman, in fact a girl, and her courage and determination were legendary. She was a military leader at a time when a woman, much less a teenaged girl, wouldn’t have been thought capable of such. She was burned at the stake before turning 20, in part due to this; one of the charges against her was that she had blasphemed by wearing men’s clothing.
Catholic or not, French or not, Joan of Arc was someone we should admire for what she was: An incredibly brave young woman who inspired thousands. And she was a young woman, nothing else but. This is a fact – and it’s a sad statement in the British education system that she has been reduced to a symbol for a fundamentally reality-denying agenda.”

OK, riddle me this: people like Sen. John Kennedy from LA praising 0 tariff deals – wants that deal with as many countries as possible….however, I thought the idea behind tariffs was eliminating the requirement for people to pay income taxes, which is how it should be….😶🤨🤔😕🙁

i’m not sure how it’s supposed to work…but right now countries have high tariffs on American goods–so we don’t sell much in those countries. if the playing field was leveled, we should sell more stuff–and those companies manufacturing those products would pay more allowing us to pay nothing?? and with tariffs on their stuff coming in, their stuff will be more expensive so we’ll buy more American products here. again, meaning the manufacturers will pay more…???

Norm Eisen accidentally told the truth that Judge Juan Merchan was part of his Bragg lawfare team. It didn’t take him long to figure out that he messed up. I previously posted that Norm appeared to say that he was writing documents for the judge. If true, that means Norm created the Bragg case, he worked with the witness Michael Cohen, and he worked with the judge. Seems illegal to me.

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Citing the wrong jurisdiction and the wrong measure of relief, the Supreme Court on Monday night vacated D.C. District Court Chief Judge James Boasberg’s two temporary restraining orders prohibiting the immediate deportation of illegal Venezuelans tied to Tren de Aragua, a foreign terrorist organization according to the Trump administration.
In a 5-4 decision, the Court—with Amy Coney Barrett again siding with the three liberal harpies—determined it had limited authority to review President Trump’s Alien Enemies Act proclamation, which permitted the removal of the suspected TdA illegals. Further, the Court concluded the ACLU lawyers representing the illegals should have filed habeas petitions in Texas, not a civil lawsuit in Washington, where the illegals had been and remain in U.S. custody.
All nine justices agreed the government must provide some level of due process for those subjected to the president’s AEA proclamation, which he signed on March 14 and was enacted on March 15: “[Today’s] order and per curiam confirm that the detainees subject to removal orders under the AEA are entitled to notice and an opportunity to challenge their removal. The only question is which court will resolve that challenge. For the reasons set forth, we hold that venue lies in the district of confinement.”
In a typically unhinged dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor accused the president of violating the terms of the AEA—“There is, of course, no ongoing war between the United States and Venezuela,” Sotomayor stated as if it’s within her authority to make such a determination—and of planning a “covert preparation to skirt both the requirements of the Act and the Constitution’s guarantee of due process.”
Sotomayor then took the next mental leap for an intellectually and emotionally devoid Marxist by claiming the nature of the president’s proclamation down the road may apply to lawful Americans. “The implication of the Government’s position is that not only noncitizens but also United States citizens could be taken off the streets, forced onto planes, and confined to foreign prisons with no opportunity for redress if judicial review is denied unlawfully before removal. History is no stranger to such lawless regimes, but this Nation’s system of laws is designed to prevent, not enable, their rise.”
The Department of Justice immediately asked Boasberg to dismiss the case for lack of jurisdiction and deny the ACLU’s request for a preliminary injunction, the next step after a temporary restraining order.
Defiant Judge Pursues Allegations of Defiance
Boasberg later cancelled a hearing set for 3:00pm today on the preliminary injunction motion, but with a caveat. In what can only be considered a stunning rebuke of SCOTUS’ ruling, Boasberg asked the ACLU to let him know by April 16 “whether they believe that they still have a basis to proceed on their Motion for Preliminary Injunction in this Court and, if so, proposing a briefing schedule.”
In other words: FU SCOTUS.
Boasberg also has not yet abandoned his attempt to prove Trump officials violated what he calls an “oral ruling” issued on March 15 to return planes carrying illegals being deported under the AEA. During a hearing that evening, Boasberg converted the original five unnamed plaintiffs into a class action suit and ordered all AEA subjects back to the United States.
“[Any] plane containing these folks that is going to take off or is in the air needs to be returned to the United States. That appears to represent the green light Boasberg needs, to the extent he believes he needs one from the highest court, to move forward with a contempt case against Trump officials. At the very least, the onetime Yale basketball player is not ready to walk off the court defeated by the Trump DOJ—and the Supreme Court.”

“There’s a news report this morning that Florida Man John Connaughton, a 51-year-old registered sex offender, was reportedly so pissed off at Doors, Moulding & More in St. Petersburg that he caused more than $1,000 worth of damage in his urine-slinging rampage, according to a Pinellas County affidavit.
He allegedly chucked multiple bottles of his own pee through the front entrance to the store and poured the contents throughout the store, including on the merchandise.
Connaughton, who has an extensive criminal history including lewd and lascivious exhibition, was apparently pissed that the business refused to interview him. After throwing his wee at a store employee, he ran out of the store. He was eventually apprehended and charged with felony battery, criminal mischief, and aggravated assault.”

Just The News: “The White House will impose a 104% tariff on Chinese goods after Beijing failed to meet President Donald Trump’s noon deadline to withdraw its 34% retaliatory tariff.
“The President also wanted me to tell all of you that if China reaches out to make a deal, he’ll be incredibly gracious, but he’s going to do what’s best for the American people,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Tuesday. “China has to call first. The Chinese want to make a deal. They just don’t know how to do it. But the President will be implementing these 104% tariffs on China tonight.”
Trump has already imposed tariffs on China and the additional 50% follows the Chinese response to his “Liberation Day” tariffs. The U.S. will begin to collect revenues on Wednesday.
“Therefore, if China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, the United States will impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th. Additionally, all talks with China concerning their requested meetings with us will be terminated!” Trump vowed on Monday. “Negotiations with other countries, which have also requested meetings, will begin taking place immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

“Dr Terry Adirim is a longtime Democratic political operative and government bureaucrat who burrowed into the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) prior to President Trump’s inauguration. She is best known in the U.S. active military and veterans community as the doctor behind the infamous and unlawful Department of Defense mRNA vaccine mandate.
According to reports, she was fired by the CIA Director on Tuesday.

Adirim, a former senior Biden appointee at the Department of Defense who was performing the duties of the assistant secretary of defense for health affairs, had decamped in December to the CIA as director of CIA Centers for Global Health Services until about a week ago, according to the source.
Her firing was related to her role in forcing service members to choose between taking a vaccine that was under Emergency Use Authorization or being kicked out, according to the source
While she was in the Pentagon as the acting assistant secretary of defense for health affairs (serving as a Biden Administration political appointee), Dr Adiri, signed her name to an order forcing service members to take the emergency use authorization (EUA) covid vaccine. Adirim’s memo attempted to justify mandating EUA shots as if they were FDA-approved, which was not the case then. The mandate led to countless vaccine injuries, the worst recruiting crisis since the formation of the all-volunteer military, and thousands of service members discharged for refusing to take the mRNA experimental gene serum.
Adirim, who frequently posts on BlueSky, is a devoted democrat political activist and, as a medical doctor, advocates for “gender-affirming prescriptions” for “transgender” children, or in plain english, she’s for sterilizing children.
The Biden Administration appointee received lots of criticism on social media for her political activism and unlawful declarations, but instead of addressing concerned Americans, she locked all of her accounts. She never explained publicly why she signed off on the Biden White House’s DOD mandate. In January 2023, the Pentagon formally rescinded the vaccine mandate, since it was a requirement inserted by Republicans to sign off on the defense spending bill that year.
Following the mRNA mandate scandal, Adirim rotated into several different government posts. Breitbart News reports that she burrowed into the CIA one month before the president’s inauguration.

Since taking office again in January, the Trump administration has been trying to undo the damage caused by the Biden administration’s vaccine mandate. President Donald Trump in January signed an executive order to reinstate service members who were kicked out, along with backpay and their same rank, and is also welcoming back those who voluntarily left, but without backpay and a minimum of two years of service.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth followed up with a directive to the services to implement the executive order and on Monday, the Pentagon announced it would be contacting every service member who was kicked out over the vaccine with further instructions on how to be reinstated. Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement:
He said they have until April 1, 2026, to pursue reinstatement.
“We’re working hard to make sure each of them receives clear information and support throughout the process. Their service mattered then, and it still matters now. We’re ready to welcome them back!” he added.

Just The News: “A federal judge on Tuesday ruled that the White House cannot ban members of the press from accessing certain areas of its grounds as punishment for making editorial decisions that do not align with the current administration. The order lifts a ban on Associated Press reporters from attending key events in the Oval Office and from riding on Air Force One.
U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden determined that the ban violated the First Amendment by infringing on free speech.
“The Court simply holds that under the First Amendment, if the Government opens its doors to some journalists—be it to the Oval Office, the East Room, or elsewhere—it cannot then shut those doors to other journalists because of their viewpoints,” he wrote. “The Constitution requires no less.”
McFadden ordered the White House to rescind its decisions that banned the reporters, after the Associated Press refused to change its style guide to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as “Gulf of America.”
The outlet has maintained it will not change its policy to address the Gulf as “Gulf of America,” because it is an international organization and it did not want to confuse its readers.
Associated Press reporters were still allowed on the White House grounds and in the press briefing room, and maintained their “hard pass” credentials.”
