You Look Like You Love Me

Every once and again, a song catches your fancy and forms an earworm.  This duet by Ella Langley and Riley Green has done just that.  “Excuse me…”

    Ella Langley:
I was all but 22 / I think at the time / I’d been out on the road / Lonely at night / And it’d been a while / So it was on my mind.

Well, I saw him walk in / With his cowboy hat / And I thought to myself / I could use some of that / His boots like glass on a sawdust floor / Had moves like nothin’ I’d ever seen before.

So I walked right up / And I pulled him to the side / I handed him a beer and looked him right in the eye / And I said Baby, I think you’re gonna wanna hear this / Then I told him …

    Chorus:
Excuse me / You look like you love me / You look like you want me / To want you to come on home / And baby, I don’t blame you / For lookin’ me up and down across this room / I’m drunk and I’m ready to leave / And you look like you love me.

    Riley Green:
Well, I was down at the local beer joint with a few of the guys / When this cute little country girl caught my eye / And boy, let me tell you / She was the prettiest thing I’d ever seen in a pair of boots / Well, she walked right up to me, handed me a beer / Gave me a look like, let’s get outta here / And that’s when I realized that she was every cowboy’s dream come true / She told me this right here, she said …

    Repeat Chorus

    Alright, now.

So if you ever see a man in a cowboy hat / And you think to yourself / I could use some of that / Don’t waste your time / Just give ’em this here line / Goes a little like this.

    Repeat Chorus

    1. “Trump Fired After Forgetting To Reply To Elon’s Email”

      U.S. · Feb 24, 2025 · BabylonBee.com

      Article Image

WASHINGTON, D.C. — America’s new golden age came screeching to an unexpected halt today, as news broke that President Donald Trump had been fired for forgetting to reply to Elon Musk’s email.

Trump reportedly missed the deadline to respond to the email from the Department of Government Efficiency requiring all federal employees to list five things they worked on last week. Despite Trump accomplishing an impressive list of tasks, he failed to reply to the email.

“A rule is a rule,” Musk said when asked by reporters to comment on Trump’s abrupt departure. “He was the one who signed off on the idea. Any government employee who did not respond to the email with what they accomplished within the allotted time was to be terminated. Presidents are not immune. It’s unfortunate for his second term to come to an end this way, but we simply cannot afford to make any exceptions. The United States wishes Mr. Trump well in his future endeavors.”

President Trump, though disappointed, understood the decision. “We had a great run,” he said to reporters as he left the White House. “I thought for sure I had sent the email, but I apparently left it open on my phone without hitting “send,” do you believe it? A killer. What a killer. My son distracted me with a meme, unfortunately. It was a meme. A pretty good one, but not great. And now we’re fired. How do you like that? It’s sad.”

At publishing time, Trump had called Vice President JD Vance “Elon’s Pet” in a Truth Social post after learning Vance had replied to the email and kept his job.

    2. “Matt Walsh Current Frontrunner For Next Pope”

      Article Image

VATICAN CITY — As the world waited to hear more about the condition of the ailing Pope Francis, rumors circulated that conservative media personality Matt Walsh was now considered to be the frontrunner to become the next pope.

While Pope Francis remained hospitalized with persistent health issues stemming from bronchitis and pneumonia, preparations were reportedly being made to officially elect Walsh and install him as the supreme pontiff of the Catholic Church.

“A set of plaid flannel papal robes are being made as we speak,” Vatican spokesman Bishop Giovanni Tortellini said. “As we saw with President Trump’s landslide victory in the United States, the world is turning in a more no-nonsense, conservative direction. We want the Church to follow suit, and there’s no bigger no-nonsense conservative than Matt Walsh. Excuse me, my apologies… His Holiness Matt Walsh.”

Walsh, who would be the first pope in over 300 years to have a beard, was pragmatic about the move. “It seems like a pretty sweet gig,” he said. “It’s not a done deal yet, obviously. They’re still waiting to see if the old guy buys the farm, but they reached out to me to get the ball rolling. I was hesitant, but they said they were open to moving the Vatican to Nashville and I could still make my documentaries. I can’t say much more, but I can say this: My first official proclamation will be banning raw milk. You’re welcome, you disgusting botulism-infected raw milk drinkers.”

At publishing time, the Vatican’s negotiations to officially install Walsh as pope had hit a snag due to Jeremy Boreing refusing to let him out of his Daily Wire contract.

      Tech · Feb 24, 2025 · BabylonBee.com

      Article Image

LONDON — Tech consumers across the pond were recently startled to learn that the Apple Watch being sold in the UK would now warn when wearers’ heart rates react inappropriately to a racist meme.

According to Apple, the smartwatch will monitor your biometrics simultaneously with your meme consumption and issue warnings any time you view a meme determined to be racist without a proper response of anti-racist rage and white guilt.

The watch will then report its findings to the local authorities.

“I accidentally scrolled past a meme of Pepe the Frog and my watch immediately started sending me notifications,” complained Edward Faulkes, a British citizen. “Then a few days later, I saw a depiction of the Prophet Mohammed and my watch called the fuzz to pay me a visit.”

“I’m not entirely sure I like this product.”

Despite the odd new feature several tech reviewers have given the update positive reviews, stating that the watch is still an excellent choice for sleep monitoring, running, and blood-oxygen level measuring.

At publishing time, Apple had further added a feature to remind users to pray five times per day facing Mecca.

      1. More on that subject….

RedState: “While the mainstream press screams bloody murder over the Trump administration’s trimming back of the bureaucratic state, shocking new details have emerged about how government resources were being misused. A new report from City Journal has obtained chat logs showing NSA representatives, including from the CIA and FBI, used the NSA’s government interlink program to discuss various transgender fetishes and aspects of “transitioning.”

The report shows topics such as “genital castration, artificial vaginas, piss fetishes, sex polycules, and gangbangs” were posted using the government system. This is what your tax dollars were going to.

We have cultivated sources within the National Security Agency—one current employee and one former employee—who have provided chat logs from the NSA’s Intelink messaging program. According to an NSA press official, “All NSA employees sign agreements stating that publishing non-mission related material on Intelink is a usage violation and will result in disciplinary action.” Nonetheless, these logs, dating back two years, are lurid, featuring wide-ranging discussions of sex, kink, polyamory, and castration.

One popular chat topic was male-to-female transgender surgery, which involves surgically removing the penis and turning it into an artificial vagina. “[M]ine is everything,” said one male who claimed to have had gender reconstruction surgery. “[I]’ve found that i like being penetrated (never liked it before GRS), but all the rest is just as important as well.” Another intelligence official boasted that genital surgery allowed him “to wear leggings or bikinis without having to wear a gaff under it.”

These employees discussed hair removal, estrogen injections, and the experience of sexual pleasure post-castration. “[G]etting my butthole zapped by a laser was . . . shocking,” said one transgender-identifying intel employee who spent thousands on hair removal. “Look, I just enjoy helping other people experience boobs,” said another about estrogen treatments. “[O]ne of the weirdest things that gives me euphoria is when i pee, i don’t have to push anything down to make sure it aims right,” a Defense Intelligence Agency employee added.

I’d love to say I’m surprised, but I’m not in the least. This is exactly what I would expect to be happening under the now-defunct Biden administration. As RedState previously reported, LGBT activists also essentially took over “18F,” a sub-department of the GSA that set various work rules for all the bureaucratic agencies. Remember when Kamala Harris proclaimed her race, pronouns, and the color suit she was wearing during a televised meeting? That came from “18F.”

This is why the attempt to turn bureaucrats into sympathetic figures has no chance of succeeding. “60 Minutes” can put USAID and IRS employees on air all they want, but all it does is signal to regular Americans how laughably tone-deaf these Beltway elites are. Government officials have lived in an alternate universe where all their most disgusting, corrupt desires are not only met but encouraged. All while getting paid hefty salaries and benefits packages. And to do what? No one really knows, but they clearly had quite a bit of free time on their hands.

These agencies have to be gutted to the studs, and that’s why the work of DOGE and the Trump-appointed heads is so important. Leaving the masses in place and changing a few regulations won’t fix this, and the more insane revelations we get, the more of a mandate the administration has. The U.S. government has been inundated by lazy, wasteful, degenerates for decades, and it’s about time the hammer dropped. Taxpayer money should not be used to fund a funhouse for mentally ill people.”

    9. NOPE NOPE NOPE!

these religious groups want to be able to BREAK the law–harbor illegals. Nothing in the Constitution gives anyone permission to harbor illegals and break the law–just the opposite. (bold mine)

      article

WASHINGTON — A federal judge in Maryland on Monday partly granted a request from Quakers and other religious groups to limit the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s authority to conduct immigration enforcement in houses of worship.

The eight religious groups had asked U.S. District Judge Theodore David Chuang for a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking the Trump administration’s decision to allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement to conduct enforcement in sensitive locations such as places of worship.

That action by the Trump administration rescinded a 2021 memo by the Biden administration in which extra guidelines were added for enforcement at sensitive locations in special circumstances, following on a longstanding U.S. policy to limit such enforcement.

Chuang, who was appointed by former President Barack Obama and confirmed in 2014, did not grant a nationwide injunction Monday and had seemed skeptical about one during arguments in early February. The groups argued the Trump administration’s decision to revoke the sensitive locations memo violated their religious rights to gather and worship without fear of immigration enforcement.

In Monday’s order, Chuang instead directed those eight groups to provide DHS with a list of their locations, which will be included under his preliminary injunction. The eight groups have 1,700 chapters across 37 states.

For those locations, Chuang has ordered ICE to follow immigration enforcement policies under guidelines from the 2021 memo. Those policies require approval from ICE headquarters and also enforcement that is “conducted to eliminate or at least minimize the chance that the enforcement action will restrain people from accessing the place of worship.”

The Department of Justice did not respond to States Newsroom’s request for comment.

Skye Perryman, the president and CEO of Democracy Forward, the legal organization representing the religious groups, said in a statement that “we are grateful to the court for acting to limit this unlawful and harmful policy.”

“Religious institutions should not have to go to court to fight for the right to worship and associate freely that is enshrined in our Constitution,” Perryman said. “Our plaintiffs represent a unique and diverse coalition of religious groups that have been at the forefront in protecting values of religious liberty for centuries.”

There is a similar, separate lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia brought by 27 religious groups who are asking for an injunction to be placed for their groups in the suit, rather than nationwide. They are also not challenging the rest of the locations included in the memo.

Until the Trump administration rescinded the memo, the sensitive locations for immigration enforcement also applied to hospitals, schools, funerals and other social services.

The complaint by the Quakers, in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, was brought by six Quaker meetings, as the gatherings are called, as well as the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship in Georgia and the Sikh Temple Sacramento in California.

The six Quaker meetings include the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends; the New England Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends; the Baltimore Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends; the New York Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends; the Adelphi Friends Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends; and the Richmond Friends Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends.

They have members in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, the District of Columbia and West Virginia.

      More fraud:

      https://freebeacon.com/energy/biden-environmental-justice-adviser-received-millions-after-personally-applying-for-epa-grant/

FTA: “In the final weeks of the Biden administration, the Environmental Protection Agency awarded a lucrative environmental justice grant to a left-wing nonprofit whose CEO—LaTricea Adams—personally applied for the taxpayer funding while simultaneously serving as a member of a top White House advisory council.

The Biden EPA announced in December that it selected Young, Gifted & Green to receive a $20 million grant under its so-called Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Program—the largest grant allowed under the program. The EPA dished out 105 grants—including the grant to Adams’s Tennessee-based group—totaling $1.6 billion as part of the program after receiving 2,801 applications from groups nationwide, according to internal agency documents reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

The EPA documents also show that Adams was listed as the individual applicant for the grant, which she applied for on behalf of Young, Gifted & Green in late September. Adams personally submitted the application while serving as a member of former president Joe Biden’s Environmental Justice Advisory Council, which was housed at the EPA. She served on the council from March 2021 through the end of the Biden administration.

It remains unclear the extent to which Adams, in her role on the Environmental Justice Advisory Council, advised the EPA on its grantmaking activity or implementation of the Community Change Program. Young, Gifted & Green did not respond to requests for comment.

But the revelation adds further weight to questions about the Biden administration’s process for doling out grants and whether the administration played favorites when it came to such programs. Federal officials are generally expected to avoid even the appearance of impropriety when carrying out their duties.”

    12. Just The News: “House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan on Monday subpoenaed the FBI for information and documents related to its investigation into alleged misconduct that occurred in the bureau during the Biden administration. The committee previously subpoenaed the bureau for the documents during the 118th Congress, but Jordan claimed former FBI Director Christopher Wray failed to produce the necessary material.

Jordan accused the FBI of departing from its “public safety mission,” under the Biden administration and Wray’s leadership in a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel, and claimed it also “refused any real transparency or accountability for its actions.”

“When President [Donald] Trump nominated you to serve as the Director of the FBI, he rightly called you an ‘advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution’ who will ‘bring back Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity to the FBI,'” Jordan wrote. “During this critical time in the FBI’s history, when Americans deeply distrust the FBI, it is important that you succeed in restoring public confidence and creating much-needed transparency.”

The chairman asked Patel to provide records related to the Biden administration’s “insertion of federal law enforcement into local school board meetings,” the Richmond field office’s memorandum that labeled traditional Catholics as “violent extremists,” and Wray’s alleged “slow-walking” of the investigation into the January 6 pipe bombs.

He also asked for records and documents related to the FBI’s alleged use of confidential human sources on January 6, and the administration’s alleged collusion with technology companies to censor free speech, among others.

Jordan requested that all the information be turned over to Congress by March 17.”

      • 81% support deporting criminal illegal immigrants.
      • 76% support a “full-scale effort to find and eliminate fraud and waste in government.”
      • 76% support closing the border with additional security and policies.
      • 69% support keeping men out of women’s sports.
      • 68% support government declaring there are only two genders.
      • 65% support ending race-based hiring in government.

      • 61% support reciprocal tariffs.
      • 60% support direct U.S. negotiations with Russia to end the war in Ukraine.
      • 59% support cutting government spending already approved by Congress.
      • 57% support ending the ban on new offshore drilling.
