Goldenrod is a native North American perennial wildflower that is tall and slim with fluffy golden flower spikes in various shades of yellow. Once regarded as an invasive weed, goldenrod is increasingly valued by gardeners thanks to cultivars that offer better performance and more attractive flowers. Goldenrod grows best in any sunny location, survives well in average or even poor soil, and thrives in temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Goldenrod Care
Here are the main care requirements for growing goldenrod.
Plant goldenrod in the spring or fall, choosing a sunny location with average soil.
Stake the taller varieties so the plants don’t flop and bend.
Water young goldenrod plants weekly to keep soil moist until established, then only supplement in drought.
Do not overfertilize; goldenrod does not need fertilizer at all.
Light
Goldenrod craves full sun for optimal flowering. The plant will tolerate a bit of shade, though a shady location can reduce its blooms.
Soil
Goldenrod is not overly picky about soil but it must be well-drained with a pH in the acidic-to-neutral range. This plant can tolerate sandy, rocky, and clay soils. Very rich soil can cause the plant to become leggy and potentially flop over.
Water
Water new goldenrod plants weekly to maintain damp, but not soggy soil. Mature goldenrod plants are drought tolerant and rarely need supplemental watering except when rainfall is scarce.
Temperature and Humidity
The hardiness range varies a bit depending on the species, but most goldenrods thrive in USDA cold hardiness zones 2 to 8, taking heat and cold weather in stride. Goldenrod isn’t fussy about humidity, either.
Types of Goldenrod
The many goldenrod species vary somewhat in size and appearance. Cultivars are known to be less aggressive spreaders than the species forms. Some popular species—all native to North America—include:
Solidago caesia (blue-stemmed goldenrod) has arching purplish stems. It is not an aggressive spreader and produces good cut flowers.

Solidago odora (sweet goldenrod) is a 2- to 4-foot plant with anise-scented leaves and yellow flowerheads. It does not spread aggressively and has a good tolerance for poor, dry soils.
Solidago rugosa, also known as rough goldenrod is a 3- to 5-foot plant with a fondness for moist conditions. A popular cultivar is ‘Fireworks’, with its arching golden-yellow flowerheads that resemble an exploding skyrocket.
Solidago speciosa, also known as showy goldenrod, grows 1 to 3 feet tall, with dense clusters of tiny yellow flowers.

Solidago sphecelata, also known as autumn goldenrod, is a 12- to 24-inch species with arching stems holding plumes of yellow flowers. Two notable cultivars are ‘Golden Fleece’, a short 15- to 18-inch plant with arching cylindrical flowers, and ‘Wichita Mountains’, a 30-inch plant with rich gold flowers.
Solidago bicolor (white goldenrod)is noteworthy simply because it does not display the typical yellow goldenrod blooms. Instead, it features white blooms.

Good morning, Pat and Filly!
Today we will have temps 68-76º – rain and wind – then lows in high 30s and highs in the 60s the next two mornings – then more rain and wind and then mid 30s. Next Saturday, 51º is the high predicted. This is our typical winter weather.
Sally and I went for a walk last evening and it was very nice, temp around 72 and breezy. The sunset was beautiful and she enjoyed it.
Today, many of the family will be gathering in the Village dining room to visit Sally’s Dad and will also visit Sally a few at a time. It may be stressful and emotional for Sally, but she also wants them to come.
This week, she had a Zoom visit with one of her oldest friends, a sweet Christian, and it went pretty well. I’m encouraging pastors and Village friends to visit also.
She’s sleeping most of the time, now. But wakes up and enjoys their visits, though it’s hard for her to hear and understand much of the time. Hearing and speech problems are part of the underlying neurodegenerative disease.

Good morning! Yep, goldenrod pretty much grows wild everywhere. We see it along the roads and in the ditches all the time. Temp was at 2 when I got up and just now dropped to 1. Windy but not snowing, thankfully, and the predictions have improved for this coming week as far as low temps. We had a few snow showers yesterday but no accumulation; the wind has pretty much cleared off my driveway. I may bundle up and try to make it to the local grocery store later this morning.

glad this mess bypassed you!
we’re worried about trees coming down. it snowed, then turned to freezing rain so the branches are covered and heavy. the driveway looks worse–kind of like a slushy, icy mess with ice under the slush. sigh
glad we got out yesterday.

wow…PA Senator introduces bill for ivermectin to be OTC (in PA)
Senator Doug Mastriano
@SenMastriano
Allowing Ivermectin to be Available Over the Counter in Pennsylvania
I am pleased to announce that I will be introducing legislation to allow ivermectin, a proven antiparasitic medication, to be sold over the counter (OTC) in Pennsylvania. This important proposal aims to enhance access to this safe and effective treatment for various parasitic conditions, empowering residents to manage their health more efficiently.
Ivermectin is an FDA-approved medication primarily used for treating infections such as river blindness, strongyloidiasis, scabies, and lice. With a long history of safe use, this legislation is designed to have a positive impact on public health, especially in underserved and rural communities.
Key benefits of this proposal include:
Increasing Access to Critical Medication: Residents will have faster access to ivermectin, reducing wait times and lessening dependency on healthcare providers for conditions that do not require extensive consultation. This is particularly beneficial for those in rural areas facing healthcare barriers.
Proven Safety and Effectiveness: Ivermectin has been extensively studied and shown to have minimal side effects when used as directed, making its topical formulations safe and easy to apply.
Supporting Public Health: Allowing OTC access could help control the spread of parasitic diseases like scabies, while also reducing the burden on healthcare systems by decreasing unnecessary emergency visits for manageable conditions.
Encouraging Health Autonomy: By removing the prescription requirement, individuals can take charge of their health regarding preventative care for minor conditions.
Pennsylvania joins a growing movement, with states like Tennessee already passing similar legislation and others considering it. Countries including South Africa, Australia, and Mexico have successfully implemented OTC access to ivermectin as well.
It is time for Pennsylvania to make this necessary change. With proven efficacy and a strong safety record, enabling over-the-counter access to ivermectin will significantly benefit our communities.

Yeah, no – I’m not particularly happy about that quote Trump posted….no-one is above the law as long as it’s RIGHTEOUS law!!!
Just The News: “President Donald Trump posted a quote that has been attributed to emperor Napoleon Bonaparte on social media Saturday.
“He who saves his country violates no law,” Trump wrote, without elaborating on what he was referring to with the post.
Trump’s post comes amid some rulings from a federal judge limiting the authority of the new Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, to access payment systems in the Treasury Department. DOGE is currently able to access the payment records at the departments of Labor and of Health and Human Services.
It also comes amid Trump’s interest in acquiring Greenland and making Canada the 51st state of the U.S.
According to a University of Washington history page, Bonaparte “acquired control of most of continental Europe by conquest.”

Red State: “We’re a tad over a month away from the spring equinox, the days are getting longer, the sun is shining more – and the polar vortex is about to descend over much of the United States again, this time maybe even colder than before. This next influx will be the tenth this year – and it’s going to be a doozy.
Since the start of meteorological winter on December 1st of last year, New Orleans has seen more snow than Anchorage. And it’s Anchorage-style temperatures – maybe even Fairbanks-style temperatures – that much of the U.S. east of the Rockies will be seeing.
OK, so maybe not Fairbanks.
Needless to say, a lot of the more southerly cities, like New Orleans, aren’t in any way prepared for this kind of weather, and that can be a matter of very real concern. If a city like Minneapolis, Buffalo, or Boise gets a foot of snow, they have people, equipment, and protocols for dealing with it. If New Orleans gets a foot of snow, all the locals can do is stay indoors and wait for it to melt. And it may be belaboring the obvious to note that houses in New Orleans are not, for the most part, built for wintry weather.
In the last round, here in the Great Land, we saw a long, unseasonably warm spell, with temps in the 40s – turning everything into wet ice and making driveways and side roads near-impassible. Traction gravel is the answer to that, and the boroughs went through much of the existing supply. There will likely be some quarrying jobs available this summer. Why were we warm? Because that same polar vortex that slammed into the lower 48 drew warm, wet Pacific air up over Alaska.
It’s been a weird winter, both here and in the lower 48. But, take heart; spring isn’t that far off, and as you dig out your long johns and mittens, remember that your Alaska cousins deal with this every year, from November to March. Dress in layers, dress for the weather, not the trip, and consider buying a couple of turtlenecks. You lose a lot of heat through the neck.
Good luck, everyone.”

i have 2 good items for the winter–hubby bought me a Land’s End coat for Christmas a few years back—so warm and comfy! and last year I bought earmuffs! I always put up my hood, but it doesn’t have a string or anything to tie it like when we were kids, so the winds would still sneak in and i’d get olds or earaches.
but with the earmuffs? my ears stay warm and toasty too!!!

I have a down jacket with a fur-lined hood but it’s only waist-length. I prefer mid-thigh length coats to keep my butt warm and keep the wind from sneaking in at the bottom in back. And I, too, get earaches in the wind so I always keep them covered in the winter.

Red State: “Rachel Maddow has no credibility.
If we didn’t have already have ample examples of it, we got more earlier this week, when she did a “report” on Elon Musk and the State Department allegedly trying to buy Teslas. We reported how she put out a story claiming Elon Musk–“top campaign donor of U.S. President Donald Trump”–had “convinced the U.S. government that it should spend $400 million on “armored Tesla production units.” She then sarcastically claimed this was “not at all $400 million worth of self-dealing by the president’s top campaign donor to whom he has handed the keys to the kingdom.”
Except of course, as we reported, it was 100 percent horse hockey:
So, did Maddow correct her story and apologize? Well, not exactly. If you ever want a model of how not to take responsibility for being fake, she’s a great example of it. While she said she referred back to the line item the next day, she acted as if she had said it was from the Biden administration; Maddow didn’t clarify that she never said that the day before. No apology, either…..
Then she still tried to taunt Musk about the amount of the line item and acted like she had caught him on something — for something that never even existed as a contract, and certainly didn’t even happen under or because of Trump.
“$400 million worth of armored Teslas! Tell me more, Edge Lord of government efficiency!” Maddow said, laughing like a crazy person. That cackling laugh is meant show everyone that somehow, she’s still in the right. How twisted can you be?
She did subsequently admit there was no contract, but still insisted it would be a “huge deal for Tesla” if they were expecting that they might be in line for such money. But why would Musk’s company be expecting it–if there wasn’t even any contract? It was ridiculous how much she kept trying to bootstrap the non-story into something, while never admitting how wrong/false she’d been on it and even after her “story” blew up on her.
That just shows how bad she is.”

Emerald Robinson:
“…Only a small group of people had paid close attention to the voting machine companies Smartmatic & Dominion before the 2020 election. Only a few people knew that certain companies were actually international criminal organizations.
In fact, there was a news segment by Lou Dobbs in 2006 that you should watch. On Aug 8 2024, a federal grand jury in Florida indicted top Smartmatic executives for bribery & money laundering related to the 2016 elections in the Philippines.
Roger Alejandro Pinate. Jorge Miguel Vasquez. Elie Moreno.
Election officials in the Philippines also wanted Smartmatic investigated for “changing the script in a transparency server without informing the Commission on Elections” since that change “put into question” the results of their May 9, 2016 election.
Sound familiar?
Which bogus NGO was chosen to “observe” those 2016 elections? It was The Carter Center, headed by former President Jimmy Carter. It also “observed” the 2006 election in Venezuela.
Carter himself later claimed that Venezuela had the “best electoral system in the world.” In March 2005, Smartmatic acquired Sequoia Voting Systems which gave it significant control over U.S. elections.
Smartmatic’s new machines were used in the Chicago primaries in March, 2006. The vote was halted in a key race there due to “problems” with the new machines. After the issues in Chicago, an investigation of Smartmatic began in Oct 2006 by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (Cfius).
Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) asked Bush Admin to review the Sequoia deal. Why? Smartmatic’s ownership was hidden in foreign trusts. Smartmatic did not divulge its owners to Congress. Instead, it sold Seqouia to a small company in Canada called Dominion in Dec 2006. That ended the probe by CFIUS.
But Dominion and Smartmatic were always linked. In 2008 both companies worked together to “automate” the Philippine election system. In fact, Smartmatic once sued Dominion in Delaware for breaching a licensing agreement between them. So they were in bed together from the very beginning. Just look at Smartmatic’s Venezuelan senior developer David Moreno who moved over to work at Sequoia in 2006 and then became “Director of Election Production & Testing” at Dominion.
That’s how Smartmatic-Sequoia-Dominion got into our elections in 307 counties in 16 states. In fact, Leamsy Salazar (ex special ops & security for communist dictator Hugo Chavez) had already provided an affidavit with the details of the Smartmatic-Dominion connection in Nov 2020.
Four years after Salazar’s affidavit, a highly decorated CIA agent provided similar testimony about the election fraud scheme just before the 2024 election.
So a narco-terrorist state was actually in charge of our elections since 2006. The goal: to place communists into power & destroy America from within.
But there was a small group of people who stopped this nightmare. Probably less than 30. They saved the world.
The first big mistake for Smartmatic: Juan Andres Bautista got a divorce. He was chief of elections in the Philippines (Comelec). In 2017, his wife disclosed docs which showed he was worth $1 billion.
The DOJ launched an investigation. Bautista was impeached. He fled to the USA. He refused to return to the Philippines amid a Senate probe. His wife entered the DOJ’s witness protection program. Money laundering & conspiracy charges against Bautista were filed on September 19, 2023.
Bautista (allegedly) received bribe money from top executives at Smartmatic for assistance in their bid to secure multimillion-dollar election contracts. But Smartmatic was NOT NAMED in US court records in 2023.
Philippines officials wanted to know WHO HELPED Bautista. In 2024, US authorities “dismissed reports that Bautista had been arrested” after money laundering & conspiracy charges were filed in August. “Bautista is not in US custody & we decline to comment further,” said Nicole Navas Oxman at Biden’s DOJ.
What was going on?
According to my sources, Bautista disappeared because the CIA is hiding him. Why? Because USAID gave money to COMELEC to hire Smartmatic for the 2016 election in Philippines. Bautista can’t testify in US court that the US government provided the money.
After all, the CIA doesn’t want the American people to know that USAID is actually funding Smartmatic. That would be crazy, right? …”
Read it all.

The above meme is a little misleading.
“Do not remain silent”
John Kiriakou, the CIA whistleblower who exposed the agency’s torture program under Bush, is no longer in prison. He was released in 2015, after serving a 30-month sentence. As a CIA officer, he was convicted for exposing the CIA’s “enhanced interrogation program” (otherwise known as…?) to interrogate al-Qaeda prisoners, having passed classified information to a reporter.
Despite the release of the Senate Intelligence Committee’s report in 2014 detailing the CIA’s use of torture, there has been a lack of accountability for those involved in the program. No CIA officers were charged with torture related to the CIA’s “enhanced interrogation” program.
After his release, Kiriakou has expressed that his time in prison was “worth every day” because the revelations about the CIA’s use of torture led to Congress enacting a specific ban on waterboarding and other torture techniques used at black sites.
Kiriakou’s advice to potential whistleblowers is “Do not remain silent”

The impossibly rich lifestyle of DC liberals, funded by YOU the taxpayer, without your consent or approval. This is how they live, and the receipts prove it.
USAID, the NEA, and other taxpayer-funded programs issue billions of dollars in grants. John and Jane, or Pete and Pete, each work at non-profits who receive these grants.
The non-profit pays them $300,000 or more. In some cases, such as the Kennedy Center, the CEO is paying $1.5 million.
A married couple takes in $750,000 together, and often much more. Off of your back.
Year after year, and the perks don’t stop with salaries. Believe it or not, that’s small potatoes.
If they want a free ski vacation in Aspen? Well there’s a conference being held annually. The non-profit will of course fly them there and provide accommodations. Every meal is of course non-profit related. Eat well.
Itching for a trip to Switzerland or Paris? Same deal. The non-profit would be delighted to host a conference on some subject.
How they cut their family and friends in on the scam.
Their nepo babies start a “conference organizing business,” and pay them from the non-profit to put on events.
Maybe they take on an ownership interest in these businesses via an offshore account.
How will anyone be able to track down this money? It’s stash in the Cayman Islands or in Switzerland via one of the many “businesses” that provide “services” for the non-profit USAID industrial complex.
Speaker fees for their friends?
Yes, of course. That’s how to really get the big bucks going, as speaking fees and vendors aren’t accounted for item-by-item on the Form 990.
Hold a “gala” and pay everyone $100,000 to give a talk. Pay millions to the “vendors” run by nepo babies and others in on the corruption.
Even judge / their families are in on these scams.
It’s why DC judges are issuing lawless rulings. Their spouses, friends, and families are all taking a piece of the action.
The end result of that DC exists entirely off of your back.
This corruption must end, and that’s why they hate Elon.
They won’t go down without a fight. These are all people living lIke billionaires for doing nothing.
Think this story is exaggerated. Look at these salaries from “non-profits,” which are funded by taxpayers via grants and other “aid.”
Now you understand the anger.
They are thieves!

He’s back in full “Stealth Jeff” mode.
Just a reminder.
There is no statute of limitations on:
1. Treason
2. Leaking/theft/sale of classified national security material
3. Murder/crimes against humanity/children
I really do not GIVE A FLYING FUCK about people who tell me “It would have happened by now if it was going to happen.”
What is GOING TO HAPPEN is GOING TO HAPPEN.
Nothing can stop it.
I know what’s coming.
You don’t.
I put in the hours and read the filings **before I ever looked at Q**.
Before I read Q **I already knew about the secret grand jury** that was spying on/investigating the leaking traitors inside and around our US Congress.
I knew **that** was real. I knew that grand jury was all up in Adam Schiff’s and Eric Swalwell’s and 70+ other people’s electronic comms for **over 3 1/2 years**.
HERE ME VERY CLEARLY: When Trump **tells you** “We caught them all” and “We have it all” the fucking influencers on here who tell you “HE’S BULLSHITTING! HE’S MAKING IT UP! HE’S BLUFFING!” do not have the first fucking clue what’s been going on.
He’s **not bluffing** and he’s **not bullshitting**.
Why do you think I’m being very clear **ON THE RECORD** before it happens that you will see the return of John Durham, John Huber, and whoever the ‘Mystery Prosecutor’ was who was leading that military grand jury for 3 1/2 years?
We have been in a Silent Undeclared War for many years now. Trump is a wartime President. Always has been. He is the Commander in Chief and I suspect when this ‘Mystery Prosecutor’ is taken public, his nature is going to absolutely shock the FUCK out of a lot of people.
We are not in a Silent Undeclared War with one nation or multiple nations; we’re at war with a globalist cult that has infiltrated many governments, **including our own**.
Every single one of the traitors inside of our US Congress who was being investigated by this grand jury and this ‘Mystery Prosecutor’ is by this definition an ENEMY COMBATANT. A spy, if you will.
As the Commander in Chief, the President **has the authority** to take investigations AWAY FROM the three letter agencies.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE VERY FIRST THINGS Q TOLD US.
When this is over some people are going to think I am a genius.
I’m not.
I’m simply somebody who put in the time to read all the documents personally instead of forming an instant hot take based on headlines provided by surface skimmers.
I remember shit that went down in 2017 that nobody remembers even happened.
That’s the only difference between me and those who don’t see what’s coming.
The ground has been FULLY PREPARED for what is coming.
And that’s a BEAUTIFUL thing.

“Europe Vows To Stick It To Trump By Finally Paying Their Own Bills”
World · Feb 15, 2025 · BabylonBee.com
MUNICH, DE — Following Vice President J.D. Vance’s speech condemning Europe for failing to do its part alongside America to protect democratic ideals, European leaders vowed they would exact revenge on the Trump Administration by paying their own bills for security and energy.
“We will not get pushed around by this American Vice President with his steely blue eyes and strong words,” French parliament member Francios Bernard told the press. “We will fight American oppression by cutting them off from NATO and paying our own military, defense, and humanitarian aid bills. Now who is the one laughing?”
Many other representatives from the European Union issued similar statements over the weekend. French President Emmanuel Macron derided Vance for his scathing rebuke of Europe and promised to finally start paying for their own way on the national stage.
“We will not get talked down to any longer by the country we’ve allowed to pay all of our foreign defense bills,” Macron said. “We will show President Trump who is boss. From here on out, no more free American dollars coming into France on my watch!”
Trump issued his own statement that read “Good.”
At publishing time, Europe also vowed to retaliate against the U.S. by halting exports of those chocolate Kinder Eggs.

“Canadian Hockey Fans Boo Their Future National Anthem”
Sports · Feb 16, 2025 · BabylonBee.com
MONTREAL — Hockey fans of the soon-to-be 51st state of America booed when their future National Anthem was played last night. In a seemingly prophetic outcome, the loser nation currently known as “Canada” then got absolutely smoked by their imminent conquerors.
“Boo! We like being euthanized and losing at hockey! Boo!” cried the Canadian fans. “We don’t want to be a part of a country that actually wins Stanley Cups. Boo!”
The United States fans, for their part, found the booing rather adorable. “Aw, baby brother wants to fight,” chuckled the gathered U.S. fans. “Honestly, we don’t even know what hockey is in America, we just like beating Canada at the thing they care about most. It will be one final, delicious humiliation of Canada before we invade.”
At publishing time, the American team had destroyed the Canadians so thoroughly that all of Canada begged Trump to just send the tanks and get it over with.

EXCERPT: “You know what they say in the Lone Star State: Allah Bless Texas! Wait, that doesn’t sound right … or does it? Welcome to Epic City and Epic Ranches! A Muslim town built by and for Muslims and Muslims only. Deep in the heart of Texas!
….Yes, this is a real thing. We have Epic city, with the outskirts having a little more room at the Epic Ranches!
An entire city of over 1,000 people, 30 minutes outside of Dallas. Filled. So why not build Epic Ranches to meet demand for Muslims who weren’t quick enough to get into the city?
They’ve got Islamic schools, mosques, stores. Everything that is needed for a Muslim to live comfortably in their own city to make sure they don’t have the opportunity to assimilate into American culture.
Yes, just what we need. Non-American Islamists taking over parts of Texas. This place is wild. Check it out:
You’d never even know you were in Texas…. Diversity is about to be Dallas’ strength!“

EXCERPT: “This is the kind of thing you see in the movies. On Friday morning, Auburn University sophomore slugger Cade Belyeu lost his mother to cancer. That night was opening night for the Tigers and what happened next … you can’t make this stuff up.
https://x.com/AuburnBaseball/status/1890577452004504003
Belyeu singled in his first at-bat, then later in the game knocked home the first homer of the season, all hours after his mom passed away….
….Auburn’s coach Butch Thompson received a call early in the morning from Belyeu, informing the coach that his mom passed away.
Just playing in the game is one thing, but hitting a home run is incredible. A young fan caught the ball in the stands and returned it to the team who then gave the ball to Cade….”

I am adding a short daily prayer to the board. I would invite each of you, if you wish, to also add one or maybe two of your own liking. I do not want to stifle anyone but please limit yourself to one or two religious postings. here’s one I found that I liked.
