    1. Good morning, Pat! Temp sits at 28 here this morning – almost made it to 50 yesterday! Wheezer was waiting.

I had such a wonderful time visiting with Piper! She’s soooo tall!!! We are both excited about singing together in the future. And that girl can sing the blues!!! I gave her a couple of tips from my singing teacher years ago – she was singing thru her teeth and not breathing from her diaphragm – makes a big difference. She was pleased when she saw that almost nothing had changed in “her” room.

She has a new boyfriend who is really cute – she showed me his picture – only met him a few days ago but she really likes him. No sex for her yet, thankfully! Turns out she got the out-of-school suspension for vaping nicotine and has never smoked MJ, thankfully. I was happy when she told me her Dad has a steady GF – they’ve been together for a couple of years now. They go to her family’s house for Thanksgiving and Xmas. Once Piper and her son graduate, they will probably move in together – she lives in a different town, IDR where now. I expect by then, his Dad will be gone – he is bedridden at the moment – and she will move in with Seth.

A success all around and I’m a happy camper this morning!

        1. I was trying to figure out how to explain it then decided to let the pros explain. This is from someone selling this belt but it gets the point across: “To understand the relationship between singing and breathing, it is first important to see what the diaphragm looks like and learn how it functions. The diaphragm is a large muscle sheath (pictured below and in video, right) that stretches across the bottom of the rib-cage, nearly cutting the body in half, separating the lower organs from the heart and lungs. During normal breathing, the diaphragm naturally flexes (or flattens) and contracts drawing air in and out of the lungs. “Supporting the voice” and “singing from the diaphragm” means flattening the diaphragm more deeply than during normal breathing and maintaining the diaphragm in that flattened position to control the release of air and the air pressure that streams across the vocal cords for phonation. To sing better, a vocalist must learn to preserve a reservoir of air in the lungs that supports and holds up a small amount of air released across the vocal cords.” https://singingbelt.com/how-the-diaphragm-works/

            1. I actually learned both opening your mouth and not singing thru your teeth AND about breathing from the diaphragm from the principal of my parochial school in my last year there. He was the one who really fueled my love of singing – he wanted me to do a solo in church but I just couldn’t do it! I really, really liked him and he kind of cottoned to me, too. He came to my confirmation dinner – Mr. Roehler. I’ll never forget him!

    1. EXCERPT: “Despite claims made by the German press, Taleb Al Abdulmohsen is not an ex-Muslim atheist, nor is he a fan of the AfD or Elon Musk. While he may have spread this misinformation himself, it aligns with the practice of Taqqiye, an Islamic doctrine that permits lying and deception to advance Islamic objectives.

In reality, he is a radical Shia Muslim, as evidenced by his name and numerous tweets and chat leaks circulating on Arabic-speaking platforms like X. Disturbingly, his plans to carry out mass killings of Germans were brought to the attention of German authorities by a Saudi woman. Tragically, the police ignored her warnings.

Ah! Mark Burnett – married to Roma Downey, who played the angel in their series “Touched by an Angel” that I used to watch all the time. I loved that show!!!

From Wiki: “Variety recognized Burnett and his wife Roma Downey as “trailblazers.” Both of them were also named among the “Most Influential People” by The Hollywood Reporter. In February 2016, Downey and Burnett gave the keynote address at President Obama’s final National Prayer Breakfast, and Burnett returned the following year to introduce President Trump at his first National Prayer Breakfast.”

“Burnett and his wife, actress Roma Downey, produced The Bible, a ten-hour History Channel drama based upon stories of the Bible.[19] The Bible became the No. 1 new series on cable TV in 2013[20] and was the No. 1 series in Canada, Spain and Portugal.[21] In total, with subsequent airings, The Bible was seen by more than 100 million viewers.[22]

After the success of The Bible, Burnett and Downey started developing more faith-based scripted series. A.D. The Bible Continues premiered on NBC on Easter Sunday 2015, and The Dovekeepers miniseries aired on CBS in 2015.”

“In 2014, Burnett and his wife Roma Downey were recipients of the Anti-Defamation League’s Entertainment Industry Award. He and Downey are heavily involved with philanthropic organizations Operation Smile and Compassion International.[38] In 2015, they partnered with the Institute for Global Engagement to launch the Cradle Fund (TCF). TCF is focused on raising $25 million to help Middle Eastern minorities displaced by ISIS[39] to return to a home where they can practice their faith without fear.[40][41] As of 2019, they have helped more than 10,000 displaced Christian refugees to relocate.[42]

  2. Just The News: “Two U.S. Navy pilots were shot down Sunday by one of their own ships in what military officials said was a friendly fire incident over the Red Sea during an operation against the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.

Both pilots ejected from their F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet and were recovered safely, with one suffering minor injuries, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

“The guided missile cruiser USS Gettysburg, which is part of the USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group, mistakenly fired on and hit the F/A-18, which was flying off the USS Harry S. Truman,” CENTCOM said in a statement. “A full investigation is underway,” it added.

The Truman carrier group was dispatched to the Middle East on Dec. 15 as the Pentagon stepped up operations against the Houthis, whose attacks and missiles have disrupted shipping lanes across the Red Sea.”

      1. I believe the head of the Navy is female….I’m probably one of the original women’s libbers – I mean, look at all the jobs I’ve done that are/were traditionally male – but within rational limitations. Women will simply NEVER be able to “war” like men can. It is simply not in their nature – period!

          1. Exactly! I still have a basic problem with a woman being in charge since they lowered the standards so women could qualify – that’s my biggest beef about women in command roles these days.

“After an incredible amount of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many, I have decided to remove my name from consideration for the United States Senate,” Trump wrote in a post on X.

Trump recently stepped down as Republican National Committee co-chairman to take some time to consider whether to run for elective office.

“I could not have been more honored to serve as RNC co-chair during the most high-stakes election of our lifetime and I’m truly humbled by the unbelievable support shown to me by the people of our country, and here in the great state of Florida,” she wrote.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will choose Rubio’s replacement, if the senator is confirmed to run the State Department.”

Do you know that or are you surmising that is the case? Not that ConRon would select her – I kind of figured he wouldn’t – but that she really wanted it in the first place. I never got that impression from her.

  4. Yep – pile on the lawsuits against these propagandists!!!

EXCERPT: “A U.S. Navy veteran won a legal victory in a lawsuit against CNN when a judge ruled Friday that the network’s expert witness can’t testify that the plaintiff did not suffer financial loss as a result of the CNN story that generated the lawsuit.

Navy veteran Zachary Young filed a lawsuit against CNN in which he alleged the network “destroyed his reputation and business” by smearing him when it ran a story that implied he illegally profited in the “black market” by helping people escape Afghanistan during the Biden administration’s botched withdrawal from the country.

The story ran on Jake Tapper’s show, “The Lead,” in November 2021 and on the CNN website and social media.

CNN wanted to use expert Brian Buss to testify in court about the incident, to raise questions as to whether Young actually suffered financial and reputational damage because of the CNN story, but a judge limited what Buss can talk about, according to Fox News….”

There are lots of things that “might happen if” – most of them Congress wouldn’t relish.

GOP Congresswoman Claudia Tenney issues warning that if Mike Johnson is removed as speaker, Donald Trump’s victory might not be certified on Jan. 6.

“We could not certify our President Trump to be the President of the United States to start the agenda – for him to take office on Jan. 20.”

“Are we going to continue to scapegoat a speaker – who I think is doing a very tough job in a very tough environment?”

  6. Wow! That’s one helluva drop!!!

EXCERPT: “A report by a nonpartisan nonprofit says Florida’s citrus industry’s production has dropped 90% in the last 20 years and offers solutions back to primacy.

The report by Florida Taxwatch says the industry is under assault by citrus diseases and hurricanes. Florida was hit by three hurricanes this year alone, with two of them, Helene and Milton, impacting the citrus industry.

The forecast for this season was predicted at 15 million boxes for oranges and 1.4 million boxes for grapefruit. According to the report, the two hurricanes resulted in that forecast dropping by 3 million boxes in orange production and 200,000 boxes in grapefruit production.

According to a 2023 analysis performed by the University of Florida, the state experienced citrus losses of $490 million in 2017 after Hurricane Irma and $247 million after 2022’s Hurricane Ian.

Freezing temperatures are also an issue. Freezes from the late 1800s to the late 1900s put many growers out of business. A freeze in 1977 damaged 15% of the state’s crop, while another cold snap in 1989 wiped out 15%.

Disease has also hurt the industry as well….”

After being “missing” for SIX MONTHS, Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX) has been found living in a Dementia Care Home in Texas

This is RIDICULOUS. We need TERM LIMITS.

Granger, 81, was last seen in public back in July, when she cast her final vote.

She was then seen at one point “wandering lost and confused” around her neighborhood before being admitted to a memory care home, per the Dallas Express

Even with a RAZOR SLIM Republican majority, she refused to resign, even though she is totally incapable of doing her job.

Her constituents had ZERO representation for those several months, and calls to her office routinely went unreturned.

Absolutely despicable. Congress is just one big nursing home now, as both McConnell and Pelosi have had multiple medical episodes over the past year alone.

There needs to be an investigation to see if any documents coming from her office that would require her signature were ever generated during the time she’s been in that facility.

There is NO way her staff didn’t know.

  8. “Montgomery attorney wins not guilty verdict on charge for January 6 defendant”

    1819News, Jim ‘Zig’ Zeigler | 12.19.24

“Montgomery attorney Melissa Issak specializes in representing men in domestic relations cases. Her firm is even named “Divorce Attorneys for Men.” Her firm’s internet address is http://www.ProtectingMen.co. Now, she has defended a man in a political case in Washington, D.C. — still protecting a man but against weaponized political charges.

IIssak won a “not guilty” jury verdict for her client, who she referred to as “Matthew,” on the Class A misdemeanor charge of “knowingly entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority.” He had been charged in the January 6, 2021 “Stop the Steal” protest in Washington, D.C., in which thousands of citizens protested against the questionable procedures of the 2020 presidential election.

Here is Issak’s explanation of what happened:

This is Matthew. Matthew attended the ‘Stop the Steal Rally’ in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021.

Matthew’s case was assigned to Judge Royce Lamberth.  There have been several articles referencing Lambreth’s statements.  We filed for a recusal largely based upon his statements, but it was denied.

Long story short, in June of this year we went in front of a DC jury. It was clear during selection that their politics did not match ours. But after the trial, the jury found him innocent of the “1752” charges (felony). This charge is knowingly entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and disorderly conduct. He was there. He didn’t harm anyone. He didn’t destroy anything, he didn’t even yell at anyone. But the jury did find him guilty of class B misdemeanors. Jail time is largely unheard of for class B misdemeanors.

When the jury returned the verdict, the judge did not look happy. In fact, we can’t find where a defendant was ever acquitted of that charge, ever, in his courtroom. It appears we were (and are) the only ones to ever get a not guilty on this charge.

Ironically, I didn’t practice criminal law. I wasn’t a J6 lawyer, but when the need arose, I became one and am in the ranks of J6 lawyers who have gotten acquittals. And it’s only a few.

At sentencing, Matthew was given jail time. Far less than his contemporaries, but unfair nonetheless. How Hunter Biden gets a 10-year pardon and the J6ers, most who have never been in trouble and were “just there” face jail time is unconscionable.

Looking forward to January 20th at 12:00 noon.

Issak says she hopes and believes Trump will pardon the January 6 defendants when he re-takes office, which would, of course, include her own client.

“We know of 26 federal assets who had been seeded into the protest. We suspect there may have been as many as 80. They created a ritual and now the Patriots pay the price,” Issak said.”

  9. “ABC To Put Running Ticker On All News Shows Saying ‘FOR LEGAL PURPOSES DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING WE SAY’”

    Media · Dec 21, 2024 · BabylonBee.com

    Article Image

U.S. — In response to mounting lawsuits over journalistic malpractice, ABC has decided to add a ticker telling viewers that for legal purposes, no one should ever believe anything said on their news programs.

The ticker will run on all ABC News broadcasts, any show where any network journalists open their mouths, and will always be running on the ABC News website.

“Nothing we say should ever be taken as having the slightest hint of truth to it whatsoever,” said ABC News executive Darryl Ross at a press conference announcing the change. “For legal purposes, every word our anchors say should be taken as a lie or perhaps a hilarious joke. We hope this clears up any misunderstanding about us maybe telling the truth. Also, please stop suing us.”

According to sources, ABC came up with the plan after noticing that sometimes confused viewers thought that journalists were giving accurate accounts of events. “That’s our bad,” explained ABC News anchor David Muir. “While I thought it was abundantly obvious that I was making up everything I say, we should have been clear from the outset. This ticker should really save us a lot of headaches.”

At publishing time, ABC News had announced that to be extra safe, all of their journalists would begin wearing little signs around their necks warning people to not believe anything they say.

  10. “Presenting The Babylon Bee Awards For 2024”

    The Babylon Bee · Dec 20, 2024 · BabylonBee.com

    Article Image

“With only a few days left before the calendar turns to 2025, it’s time to look back and honor some of this year’s most amazing achievements. 2024 was one for the ages, featuring numerous historic events, momentous accomplishments, and some type of election people keep talking about.

Without further ado, The Babylon Bee is proud to present the following awards for 2024:

    • Most Christlike Award — Jesus: Though He faced stiff competition from candidates like Donald Trump, Chris Pratt, and Catturd, the Son of God extended His streak of winning the most important award more than 2,000 times.
    • Indian of the Year — Vivek Ramaswamy: While Kash Patel, Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Warren gave him a run for his money, Vivek’s status as one of the leaders of DOGE and the manager of Trump’s upcoming White House 7-Eleven store sealed the deal.
    • President of the Year — Jill Biden: In what proved to be a tumultuous year, Dr. Jill stepped into the leadership void to guide the country and cement her place in history books as the most powerful member of the Biden family.
    • Best Traveling Comedy Troupe — FBI: While 2024 was a stressful year for many, the Federal Bureau of Investigation consistently provided much-needed comic relief through trying times. By ensuring no crime would be solved, the FBI kept Americans in stitches all year long.
    • Fast Food Employee of the Year — Donald Trump, McDonald’s: Never before has a new, inexperienced hire brought such an immediate spike in customer traffic. Diners and media members lined up for blocks to try this young man’s french fries and converse with him at the drive-thru window, making him the most legendary fast food worker in recorded history. Some witnesses even predicted that this lowly fry cook would one day become president.
    • Investment of the Year — Hawk Tuah Coin: You didn’t hear it from us, but this is one of the most talked about cryptocurrencies in the world right now. It’s all over the news. Jump in now and pour all of your money into it. You’ll probably become a billionaire. Take this with a grain of salt, as none of us know what cryptocurrency is or how it works.
    • Most Likely to Succeed at Killing a President — U.S. Secret Service: While other government organizations were playing checkers and slowly weakening the country, the overachieving chess masters at the United States Secret Service stood head and shoulders above everyone else by attempting to throw the nation (and the entire world) into total chaos by trying to knock off a president. Keep not working hard, Secret Service, and you’ll eventually get the job done.
    • Ballot Counters of the Year — California: Word has it they’re still counting ballots. From 2004.
    • Best Disappearing Act — Aaron Judge’s bat in the World Series: Not even David Copperfield, Criss Angel, David Blaine, or Harry Houdini himself could have ever dreamed of wowing crowds with such an astonishing magic trick as the one performed by the New York Yankees slugger, who made his vaunted power-hitting bat completely vanish on live television right in front of everyone’s eyes.
    • Best Film — January 6: The Most Deadliest Day: Many critics have said it may be the greatest, most influential work ever committed to film. We say it’s better than that.

No year-end list would be complete without remembering those who left us during the past year. Like the COVID-19 vaccine, those listed below will live forever in the hearts of millions of people.

    In Memoriam:

    • Nancy Pelosi
    • Star Wars
    • Kamala Harris’s political career

That’s 2024 in a nutshell. What a year it was! What other awards are you ready to hand out? Sound off in the comments below.”

      1. Oh, my, yes! All the time! In fact, I’ve got half a case sitting in one of my cupboards! LOL – I ordered it years ago, thinking it was plain chicken but it was really creamed chicken and that tastes different. So I’ll frequently use the noodles with my own choice of seasoning. But yeah – it’s been a staple in my family for a long, long time. It’s really convenient in the small, individual cups – add water to the line marked on the side and put it in the MW! In 2 minutes, you’ve got a yummy hot snack!

  12. A horse and a chicken grew up together on the farm and were the best friends. They went everywhere together. One day, the horse waded into the pond to get a drink, and he realized that his feet were stuck in the mud and that he was sinking. He yelled for the chicken and said,

I’m stuck in the mud and sinking, go get help, go get the farmer!”

The chicken ran to the house and, realizing the farmer wasn’t home, grabbed the Porshe keys, drove down by the barn, got a length of rope, sped back to the pond, tied the rope to the bumper of the car, threw the other end to the horse, and pulled the horse out of the water.

A couple of weeks later the chicken stepped into a mud puddle in the farm yard and realized that her feet were stuck and that she was sinking.

She hollered for the horse, “Go get the car!”

The horse said, “I don’t need the car.”

He stepped over the mud puddle, straddled it with one foot on each edge, and said, “grab my pecker and pull yourself out.”

The moral of this story is: If you’re hung like a horse, you don’t need a Porsche to pick up chicks.

Please thank Dr. Brooke Miller @Brookemillermd (X) for the joke!

  14. EXCERPT: “….But now the word is that Coast Guard members aren’t too happy with what the White House said in dismissing their experience. One of the members of the crew is speaking out and refuting what the White House is saying about the drones.

The Coast Guard member spoke exclusively to the NY Post and described what they saw. He said they were looking for drones, but the drones “found us.” He said there were possibly as many as 30.

The drones “appeared out of nowhere” at about 9 p.m., and followed the boat for approximately 15 minutes, he said. When the vessel shifted course, so too did the drones.

“I’m terrible with measurements, but [the swarm] was about 80 to 100 feet above us. They had four propellers. Seven feet across. The flashing lights, like you’ve seen. The festive green, red, and white lights.”

He said the drones kept pace with the boat at about 20 miles per hour. The drones then reportedly climbed 100 feet higher, turned toward shore, and went out of sight.

White House NSC spokesperson John Kirby dismissed the drone incidents in general and this particular incident.

“We have not identified anything anomalous or any national security or public safety risk over the civilian airspace in New Jersey or other states in the Northeast. The work continues,” Kirby went on.

Kirby said the Coast Guard likely mistook incoming airliners for drones and said the government confirmed forensically the encounter did not involve drones.

But the Coast Guard member blew the White House claims right out of the water.

“It’s the implication that’s insulting,” said the Coast Guard member, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “It’s implying we’re making sh-t up, when the ones making up sh-t are down in Washington, D.C.” [….]

“Commercial airplanes don’t move like that,” he said. “I’ve been out there [on the water] when planes were coming in for landings in New York, and trust me, you can tell the difference. We’re not idiots, we know what drones look and sound like.”

He said they “weren’t the types of drones you can buy at the store. These were government drones.” “I don’t care what Kirby or [DHS head Alejandro] Mayorkas say,” the Coast Guard member responded, “they’re full of sh-t.”

Despite the Biden team claiming it’s nothing, the FAA has banned drone operations over parts of N.J. until Jan. 17 within a mile of specified areas for security reasons….”

“….They’re also threatening to shoot drones down if they pose an imminent threat. Big talk for something the Biden team claims is nothing.

Journalist Michael Shellenberger doesn’t believe they could possibly have checked all the sightings to call them all anomalous, and many of the sightings like the Coast Guard’s can’t be easily dismissed. And the number of them around military bases is concerning…”

This is Detective So-and-so. There’s no easy way to tell you this. We found your daughter’s body.” I had just learned a few hours earlier that she was missing. We didn’t know she was missing. She went on a trail in our town that’s very public, very small, and we walked it for over 25 years. She grew up walking this trail. An illegal immigrant that was a gotaway from El Salvador had waited for her on the trail. I was told that they grabbed her, dragged her through the woods, raped her, strangled her, murdered her. We were told that her body was blanketed in bruises. I can tell you from looking at her when I went to the funeral home that it was probably the most graphic thing that I’ve ever seen.

And in June, Patty rightly unleashed on impeached Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas, along with the Biden administration, for depersonalizing her daughter’s death, when Mayorkas coldly referred to her as “an individual,” and never offered their condolences to the family. during an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham.

In stark contrast, as RedState’s Sister Toldjah shared, then-former President Trump reached out personally to console the Morin family:

On the other hand, the Morin family’s attorney, Randolph Rice, released a statement Thursday announcing that former President Donald Trump had reached out to express his condolences:

President Donald Trump called Patty Morin, the mother of slain jogger Rachel Morin, in a heartfelt manner to offer his deepest condolences. Rachel Morin was tragically murdered in August 2023 while running on the Ma & Pa trail in Harford County.

    […]

Patty Morin expressed her gratitude for the President’s call this morning, stating, “I am deeply touched by President Trump’s kindness and concern. He was genuine and truly wanted to know how our family was coping. He asked about Rachel and showed honest compassion for her untimely death. His words brought comfort to me during this very difficult time.”

Randolph Rice, the family’s attorney, also expressed appreciation for the President’s concern and call. “We are thankful for President Trump’s call. Acts like this show the depth of his care for Americans. His concern for Rachel’s family and his willingness to reach out personally was consoling to the family and means a great deal to us all.”

During Saturday’s speech, Patty revealed that it wasn’t just a one-time phone call; in the midst of the terrible details about Rachel’s death, there was a ray of hope. She said that President-elect Trump or members of his team have stayed in touch with her family, checking in to see how they are doing this whole time….”

  17. Just The News: “President-elect Donald Trump spoke to an enthusiastic “America Fest” gathering in Phoenix, Arizona, hosted by Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA, about his election victory and some of his plans for when he returns to the presidency in less than a month.

Among the topics were his pledge to begin “the largest deportation operation in American history,” the possibility of keeping TikTok around though it is slated to be banned, and the possibility of the U.S. taking control of the Panama Canal.

“On my first day back in the Oval Office, I will sign a historic slate of executive orders to close our border to illegal aliens and stop the invasion of our country,” Trump told the crowd, according to the New York Post

“And on that same day, we will begin the largest deportation operation in American history, larger even than that of President Dwight D Eisenhower,” he added.

Regarding TikTok, whose parent company ByteDance has a Jan. 19, 2025 deadline to either divest or be banned on the Google and Apple app stores in the U.S., Trump said, “I think we’re going to have to start thinking about TikTok,” adding, “We did go on TikTok. We had a great response with billions of views…and it was so beautiful to see.”

“I said, we got to keep this sucker around a little while.”

As for the Panama Canal, “It was given to Panama and to the people of Panama, but it has provisions, you gotta treat us fairly and they haven’t treated us fairly,” Trump said according to The Hill

“If the principles, both moral and legal, of this magnanimous gesture of giving are not followed, then we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to the United States of America in full, quickly and without question,” he added, following up on a post he made on Truth Social the day before.”

  20. Just The News: “Police have arrested a Guatemalan migrant they say set a woman on fire who burned to death on a subway train in Brooklyn, New York, Sunday morning around 7:30 a.m. Police say he was identified by a civilian as he rode on a train at 34th Street in Manhattan, according to the New York Post.

The witness waved down the police, according to the report. They later picked up the suspect and detained him, though they have not yet charged him with a crime.

Police say it happened at the Stillwell Avenue Subway station in Coney Island and that the woman was sleeping on a stationary train, according to Fox News. Video posted online appears to show the woman engulfed by flames while standing in the train.”
