A shocking conversation @PeteHegseth had with me 13 years ago…It was Christmas 2011 when I had lunch with Pete. Something happened at this lunch that still sits with me today….
Some background first: @PeteHegseth hired me at Vets For Freedom (VFF) to help build a grassroots network that would support his organization. VFF was a nonpartisan organization established by Iraq and Afghanistan combat veterans. Their mission was to educate the American public about the importance of achieving success in these conflicts and to support politicians who put long-term national security before short-term partisan political gain.
Here is what I knew going into the lunch with @PeteHegseth in 2011: He was smart, charismatic, and mission-driven. Despite what you’ve read about VFF’s fundraising woes, it was a powerhouse in influence, stature, and reputation around DC – especially with lawmakers.
But at the lunch, Pete told me something that threatened the entire mission and everything the organization had built. He told me he had decided to leave Vets for Freedom and deploy to Afghanistan. The gravity of his choice was immense: Abandoning a promising career to risk his life in the Middle East.
My first thought: Why would someone, with so much at stake in his burgeoning career, give it all up and put his life in harm’s way by deploying to a war zone (for a second time)? @PeteHegseth’s decision exemplified the rare qualities that define exceptional leaders:
• Unwavering commitment: Choosing duty over personal gain
• Leading by example: Demonstrating the values he preached
• Selflessness: Prioritizing national security over career advancement
Soon thereafter, my contract ended with VFF as @PeteHegseth deployed. You’d think that’s the end of my time with Pete. It wasn’t. I’ve never been paid another penny by Pete, however, we’ve stayed friends, helped and supported each other in various moments of our lives, and he has always been there for me if I needed anything.
Pete’s willingness to trade a comfortable life for the dangers of war speaks volumes about his character. It’s this @PeteHegseth – the one who puts country before self – that I’ve had the privilege to know and respect.
As @PeteHegseth now stands on the brink of potentially becoming the U.S. Secretary at the @DeptofDefense, I can attest to his unwavering commitment to our nation’s warriors. His actions, both past and present, demonstrate a deep-rooted dedication to protecting and defending those who risk everything for our freedom. I am grateful that Pete Hegseth has chosen to serve all of us again.

The 26-year-old suspect – who was arrested at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania Monday – went ‘absolutely crazy’ after painful back surgery and explored psychedelic treatment for his chronic pain, it was revealed.

Mangione reportedly wrote that he acted alone and was self-funded, adding: ‘To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn’t working with anyone.
‘These parasites had it coming. I do apologize for any strife and trauma, but it had to be done.’
A former roommate of Mangione’s has told CNN: ‘I remember he said he had a back issue, and he was hoping to get stronger in Hawaii.
The experience was ‘really traumatic and difficult’ for him, the roommate said while adding that Mangione sent him X-ray images of his spine. ‘It looked heinous, with just giant screws going into his spine,’ Martin said.
Mangione suddenly went ‘radio silent’ while recovering. He sought alternative forms of pain management, including psychedelics and magic mushrooms.

Almost a mirror image of what happened to my daughter but she took her own life (I think it was inadvertent but who can say?) instead of her pain doctor’s – when he was the one who deserved it! THIS scenario is why she fought to the end against having back surgery. If only she could have had my sister’s doctor….but she was petrified of ending up in a wheelchair.

Thanks to Biden, there is legal precedent that a president can fire any federal appointee, even if the appointee’s term isn’t up.
Biden fired Trump appointments to military academy boards. The appointees sued because their terms weren’t up, and lost.
But the court established a very useful precedent that Trump can now use to fire anyone appointed by Biden (other than Article III judges).
Wray is reportedly going to resign before 1/20, but Trump can use this to clean out other Biden appointees.

I see that Senate Majority Schummer is ‘poaching’ a federal District Judge from President Trump today.
The vote today for Biden’s Judicial Nomination to the Pennsylvania Middle District Court is one I’ve never seen before. The judicial vote will be for Biden’s nominee, Neary, who will replace Christopher Conners.
There’s only one problem–The judgeship is not vacant until January 17th, 2025 and all current nominations end January 3rd, 2025 when it becomes a new Congressional Session. This ‘future’ Judicial vacancy should not be filled by this Session of Congress.
Why aren’t the Republican Senators saying anything about this ‘poaching’ of a future judicial vacancy!!??!!

we had brown paper bags (slightly inflated) hanging on our outside lights to discourage hornets, wasps and the like from building nests on the deck. Worked really well too. we never brought them inside in the cold weather either. we lost one late last week with all the wind we had–snapped the yarn clear off and before i could catch it, it blew away. I can make another I thought.
You’re supposed to hang them in a nearby tree but all our trees are mature with no low enough branches.
This morning, sitting here, I noticed something in a tree in front of the house. LOL…it’s my paper bag hanging where i would have hung it, if i could have reached it. LOL
the yarn must have snagged on a rough tree limb. it’s out there now slightly blowing in the wind–fulfilling it’s mission.

Instead, the framers of the Fourteenth Amendment — alongside the framers of the original Constitution — would be in lockstep with President Donald Trump’s view, that birthright citizenship is wrong, legally and morally — and that a change to current law is in order. That citizenship should be a privilege and not a right that is automatically given has compelling arguments independent of the broader legal and constitutional considerations that couch its moral framing in the popular discourse, which, although important, ultimately run downstream of the inherent common sense and undeniable logic for why such a policy is bad for any nation.
These arguments may be divided into two categories: 1) logistical or “practical” reasons for why citizenship should not be conferred simply for having been born on these shores; and 2) deeper political reasons, dealing in national pride, patriotism, and self-identity, for why a policy of unmitigated birthright citizenship, especially today, will lead any society – the United States above all – down the pathway to inevitable decay….”

The stub of the cigar of the fake Russiagate scandal, left to smoke and shrink away in the overfull ashtray of national shame. We Russia hoax Remnants feel differently about President Donald Trump’s recent landslide victory, and our expectations are diverse. But we all, to some degree, have similar stories and hopes — not for retribution, as delicious as that may be, but for accountability and reform.
And Kash Patel, President Trump’s pick to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is the man we need. Like the President elect, he has seen this abuse up close. They are uniquely qualified.
Make no mistake, when we all chose politics as a profession, we knew it was bloodsport. But none of us expected the personal toll that impacted not just careers, but health and families — especially our children. There are many families like my own, destroyed completely by the Democrats’ illegal zeal to Get Trump at any cost. During Russiagate and the subsequent hoaxes, I screamed at the top of my lungs on television several times each week as my wife and daughters lived in fear in our Buffalo-area home.
Most Remnants stayed silent. They were the smart ones.
Those subjects of the bogus Russian collusion investigations are quietly reassembling their lives today. Just six or seven years ago, some pulled their children from school, bullied by students and teachers alike. Both parents in at least one family were fired, and with no money for tuition their son was forced to drop out of the college he worked tirelessly to attend. I don’t think he ever returned.
These Remnant stories are commonplace. Many families lost their homes; most lost their life savings. I know of older targets living on meager pensions now that their bank accounts were drained by lawfare legal fees. Those still working are earning less than half the income of their peers. One family left the country, disheartened by what America had become. Another man, once an international business success, was wrongly debased and finally diminished to serve in a bureaucracy.
Then there is the death and near deaths, the suicide attempts readers will never know, the illnesses brought on by stress. When I fell with head and neck cancer, another Remnant struck by the disease called me twice a week to share our battles. After several months, his calls stopped.
My colleague had finally succumbed to the Crossfire Hurricane plague, unfathomable stress that drives cancer. Readers don’t even know his name; his wife and two young children know he was a hero. He did nothing wrong. He was a Remnant.
The mentally ill, weaponized by brazen Democrat lies, harassed nearly all of us. My frequent media appearances made me more recognizable than the smarter, quieter Remnants. That made my family a target of a local retired mailman who was arrested and prosecuted for harassment. My youngest daughters, just five and seven years old at the time, were often harassed while playing in our front yard. A local elderly woman, an otherwise benign community museum volunteer, posted dozens of times on social media during her daily walks by our house, including photos showing our address. She screamed at my girls and mocked their safety.
The bitter old lady died recently and the nutty mailman is still creeping around. Our family prays for their souls because, like all the Remnants, we know the banality of evil. Unhinged activists, some neighbors, forced us to leave our beloved hometown forever. We miss it every day — especially after a big, beautiful Buffalo snowfall.
It’s worse for some, like Paul Manafort, Carter Page, and the inimitable Roger Stone. Last year Roger and I had a late lunch a few miles from his home. Out of nowhere, an Antifa activist showed up to threaten him in the empty restaurant. Clearly, these pongos are still tracking Roger closely. He did nothing wrong, yet I still fear for his safety.
I have talked to many of the Remnants since Election Day. Some have high hopes; these patriots still believe in our justice system. Others expect nothing at all after seeing enough corruption to believe justice is dead. Most are somewhere in between.
All of us agree the original Russiagate conspiracy continues even today. The Russia hoax was created by Hillary Clinton aide Jake Sullivan, who carries on with his lies today as President Joe Biden’s national security advisor. Christopher Steele, the British spy hired by Clinton to create the dodgy dossier, and his Fusion GPS co-conspirator Glenn Simpson are still doing the same work for similar clients. Andrew Weissmann, Peter Strzok, John Brennan, and more still peddle their lies. Elements of the original conspiracy were woven into Ukrainian meddling in the 2016 American election, then bogus Trump impeachments, January 6th prosecutions, anti-Trump lawfare, and Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Mar-a-lago raid.
FBI Director Patel can prove the original 2016 conspiracy continues today. Much of the evidence remains in federal and public databases. Preemptive pardons aside, that means Sullivan, Weissmann, Mary McCord, Steele, Simpson, Victoria Nuland, Alexander Vindman, Eric Ciaramella, Smith, and others may still be in the jackpot. We agree with attorney Mike Davis: these perpetrators potentially violated 18 U.S.C. § 241 and 242, federal civil rights statutes that prohibit conspiracies to violate the rights of others.
This is where many Remnants stand: please do not forget the families in the ash tray and simply move on. Investigate the perpetrators now, reach back to the beginning of their Russiagate criminal conspiracy and follow it to today. Prosecute them fully and legally; expose how they illegally crushed us.
But do this only in pursuit of true justice — not for retribution, but for accountability and reform.”

“Pennsylvania voters shouldn’t have to tolerate rogue county officials openly usurping state law to satisfy their own political whims,” he said. “This legislation establishes a process for local voters to decide whether a county or municipal official should be removed from office after an offense like we witnessed in Bucks County.”
During a Nov. 14 meeting, Commission Chairwoman Diane Ellis-Marseglia said she knew counting the votes defied the state Supreme Court’s ruling, but she didn’t care. “I think we all know that precedent by a court does not matter anymore in this country, and people violate laws anytime they want,” she said. “So for me, if I violate this law, it’s because I want a court to pay attention.”
And pay attention they did. Four days after the board’s action, the state Supreme Court reaffirmed that the ballots were defective. The 4-3 order came after the state and national Republican Party filed for extraordinary relief over the issue, which also unfolded in Centre, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
In a concurring statement, Justice Kevin Brobson reminded local officials they lack any authority to interpret state law. Justices David Wecht and Sally Updyke Mundy agreed. “I write separately to disabuse local elections officials of the notion that they have the authority to ignore Election Code provisions that they believe are unconstitutional,” he said. “Only the courts under our charter may declare a statute, or provision thereof, unconstitutional.”
Casey’s campaign said tossing ballots with dating errors disenfranchised voters. McCormick made the same argument, unsuccessfully, in 2022 after he lost to Dr. Mehmet Oz in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate. Oz faced off against Lt. Gov. McCormick’s campaign said the outcome was a foregone conclusion and shouldn’t have cost taxpayers $1 million to reaffirm. “Pennsylvanians deserve action after tyrants seek to undermine our institutions,” said Rep. Robert Leadbeter, R-Bloomsburg, who chairs the Freedom Caucus. “At a time when confidence in our election process is waning, the least responsible thing to do as legislators is to turn a blind eye and leave illicit behavior unchecked. The Freedom Caucus is proud to lead the charge to right this wrong.”

i’m feeding chickadees (I think) right now. I have a small table between the Adirondak chairs with a fake cactus plant with tiny stones in it. i saw them pecking at the stones and thought they were hungry. i broke up a ritz cracker and put it on the table. within a minute, they were all coming back…lol. some would snatch a bigger piece and fly away while some would peck at the tinier pieces. they are on the third cracker now…lol

Just The News: “The Justice Department spied on two House members and and several congressional staffers in a leak investigation without telling the courts, the agency’s inspector general found in a sweeping investigation released Tuesday.
As a result, the department obtained phone records from the two members of Congress and 43 staff members including President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for FBI director, Kash Patel, who worked as a staffer on the GOP-led House Intelligence Committee at the time. The department initiated the probe to investigate leaks to the media of FBI classified information as part of the now-discredited Trump-Russia probe which had recently been shared with Congress.
Inspector General Michael Horowitz found that the Justice Department, in filings with the court, did not reference “the fact that they related to requests for records of Members of Congress or congressional staffers,” despite implicating constitutional separation of powers between two government branches.

Patel, who is poised to become the new director of the FBI if confirmed, previously sued former Trump Justice Department officials and FBI Director Christopher Wray, accusing them of violating his Fourth Amendment right to protection from unreasonable searches and seizures when they tried to obtain Patel’s personal records, Just the News previously reported.
Patel said he was completely unaware of the subpoena until December 2022, when Google notified him about it.
Another former staffer, Jason Foster, previously told Just the News that he confirmed that the government successfully asked a federal court to hide its spying on Congress for five consecutive years. Foster is now the head of the Empower Oversight whistleblower center. In 2017 at the time of the secret surveillance, he was the chief investigative counsel for Sen. Chuck Grassley on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The seizure of his personal data occurred in 2017 while he worked for the Senate, and ordinarily under the original court order, Foster would have been notified a year later. But because the DOJ sought court approval ex parte to keep its surveillance secret, he wasn’t alerted until earlier this fall, six years after the initial subpoena.”

Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, also known as the Citizenship Clause, was ratified by Congress on July 9, 1868, and was meant to extend citizenship to freed slaves and their children.
Whether or not the 14th Amendment applied to people who were not citizens was challenged in Federal district courts and the Supreme Court ruled in 1898 in a case known as “United States v. Wong Kim Ark.” This was the landmark Supreme Court ruling that determined that a child, in this case, Wong Kim Ark, born in the United States to parents who were ineligible for naturalization (due to a long-defunct law that barred Chinese immigrants from becoming naturalized citizens), was still a U.S. citizen entitled to all rights and privileges of citizenship under the 14th Amendment. This established a precedent for birthright citizenship for all children born on US soil. The Supreme Court has not revisited this ruling, so the precedent of the Wong Kim Ark stands to this day. It all seems straightforward enough. Right? Wrong…
The fourteenth amendment clearly states that persons born in the United States must be “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”
The question is, what does that phrase mean? Unfortunately, many modern day legal scholars have defined that term based on Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment, explicitly referring to “The United States v. Wong Kim Ark.” So, it is hard to get an unbiased definition.
But the truth is that the United States v. Wong Kim Ark case is very different from what has happened today. That is, the masses of illegal aliens using this legal precedent to cross the border for the purpose of having “anchor babies.” An “anchor baby” is a child born in the United States to non-citizen parents, automatically gaining U.S. citizenship due to birthright citizenship laws. These babies then often provide the legal anchor for the guardians of this child to apply to stay in the United States and also collect entitlements for the child. As aside, the weaponization of words has made the term “anchor baby” a pejorative. Yet, it is a very accurate description of what is happening all across America.
My opinion is that President Trump’s executive order will target those children who are born to illegal aliens, as he has said in multiple interviews. It’s important to note that while Wong Kim Ark’s parents were legally residing in the United States, they were not eligible for U.S. citizenship due to the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882.
Section 1 of the 14th amendment was never meant to apply to the children of people in this country illegally….”

I’m heartsick right now. I was just informed that an innocent woman died today in an auto accident involving a member of the Rome Police bomb squad who was responding to the threat at my home.
My prayers are with Tammie Pickelsimer, her family, the officer who was injured, and the entire Rome Police Department.
These violent political threats have fatal consequences. It’s an undue strain on our law enforcement who must treat them seriously. The officer was responding to protect my life. And now, a woman has lost her life because of this despicable act.
The perpetrator of this crime has committed murder in our small community of Rome, Georgia. The police shouldn’t have to respond to these threats and there should not be deaths caused at their hands.
I’m so thankful for everything the Rome Police Department does to protect our city and for putting their lives on the line to do it. I’m sick to my stomach, but I’m also angry. This should have never happened and I pray it never happens again.”

The ruling that had come out of the 7th U.S. District Court of Appeals in a Wisconsin fight claimed that parental rights were not affected when schools secretly encouraged children to be transgender, so the parents had no standing to bring the case.
Justices Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas would have granted the petition, according to the court announcement, as it’s an issue that is coming up more and more.
Alito explained, “This case presents a question of great and growing national importance: whether a public school district violates parents’ ‘fundamental constitutional right to make decisions concerning the rearing of’ their children…when, without parental knowledge or consent, it encourages a student to transition to a new gender or assists in that process.”
Thomas joined in the statement that added, “We are told that more than 1,000 districts have adopted such policies.”
It is the transgender ideology, which puts its faith in the science-defying concept that boys can become girls and girls can become boys, that has been promoted literally around the globe by the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris regime in Washington. Actually, being male or female is embedded in the human body down to the DNA level and does not change.
The situations involve schools, activist employees, teachers and administrators repeatedly getting caught encouraging children to pursue the transgender ideology and keeping those actions secret from parents.
The case came out of the Eau Claire Area School District in Wisconsin, where parents sued over a district policy that helps facilitate gender identity transitions while concealing the child’s new identity from his or her parents.
The 7th Circuit had claimed in its opinion, which placed school’s ideology agendas above the rights and responsibilities of parents, that parents did not have standing to challenge the policy because they had not been directly impacted by it. The parents had said, “As any parent knows, parental authority includes the right (and the solemn responsibility) to say no to children’s often short-sighted desires when necessary to protect them from themselves.”
The promotions of transgenderism have become common in many schools, even though multiple studies show that children with gender dysphoria issues resolve to live their lives as their sex according to birth in the vast majority of cases if they are not subjected to ideological pressure.
Alito also noted, “[T]he challenged policy and associated equity training specifically encourage school personnel to keep parents in the dark about the ‘identities’ of their children, especially if the school believes that the parents would not support what the school thinks is appropriate. Thus, the parents’ fear that the school district might make decisions for their children without their knowledge and consent is not ‘speculative.’ … They are merely taking the school district at its word.”
The parents in the case had charged that the Eau Claire schools were violating the Constitution’s provisions and protections for parental rights and religious freedom. Their argument was supported by 16 states, led by Republicans, who urged the court to review the facts.
Imposing transgenderism on children involves giving them chemicals to alter their body’s natural development as they age, and sometimes body-mutilating surgeries. The case was brought by a group called Parents Protecting.”

Authorities in the city of Bend, Oregon are looking for the hero who’s been improving their modern art with googly eyes. Despite the improvements donated without cost to the city, the government in Bend is demanding that the art improver cease and desist and that if anyone has any information regarding the artist’s identity, they rat out the genius.
