Best Christmas Gifts for 2024: Part 2

Glasshouse Fragrances ‘Night Before Christmas’ Dancing Sugar Plums Interior Fragrance Gift Set

“If you have a holiday party — or seven — to attend, finding a non-cliché hostess gift can get tricky (not everyone likes the seasonal scent of pine trees or cranberries!). Nothing about these Glasshouse candles is ordinary: From the exquisitely designed, super evocative jars to the premium fragrance blends, they all ooze that glam ‘wow’ factor. The Dancing Sugar Plums scent is my favorite (a subtle fruity floral with just a hint of spice), but honestly, everything in its Holiday Jewels collection is a winner… and all fabulously packaged, too, so they’re ready to go.” — Eunice Lucero-Lee, Senior Editor, Reviews

Graza “Drizzle” Extra Virgin Olive Oil

“I put this on literally every hot meal I’ve made in the last year. You don’t cook with it; you just drizzle it on top of whatever food you make once you’re finished with it. It makes anything you’ve just made, whether it’s just eggs and toast or homemade pasta, notably punchier and more flavorful than without it. If you’re an aspiring chef or just a lazy cook like me, throw this olive oil on your food and let your taste buds take it from there.” — TP

Cozy Earth Women’s Studio Jogger

“These have become my go-to work-from-home sweatpants. I literally look forward to doing laundry because it means I can wear these pants again. Thanks to their modal fabric, they’re SO soft, and the pants come in three cute colors. It is on the pricier side at $175 for a pair, but I think they would make for a nice splurgy gift. I could totally see this being a great Christmas gift this year.” — Micki Wagner, former Commerce Editor

Repos Production ‘7 Wonders’ Board Game

“If you love Catan or any sort of adventure/civilization type of board game, this is for you. Not only is this one of the prettiest board games I own and always get compliments on, but it is so much fun! I’ve played this with my teen niece and nephew as well as my twentysomething friends, and they have all enjoyed it. Although the rules are a bit to digest in the beginning, once you get through that first practice round, you’re good to go. The game has a good balance of interacting with other players and focusing mainly on building out your individual “wonder.” The best part is you don’t know who has won until the very end when you count up your final victory points. Add this to your game nights!” — Saba Ahmed, Assistant Commerce Photo Editor

Huckberry Vintage Wash Quarter-Zip Sweatshirt

“Who doesn’t like cozy fleece in the winter? An old hoodie is fine for around the house but I don’t like going out in them. This quarter-neck zip fleece is slightly more dressed up while still being warm and comfortable. It’s cut in a relaxed fit and has been washed for softness. The sweatshirts are also made in the U.S. from domestic cotton.” — Danny Perez, Commerce Editor

Crate & Barrel Monochrome No. 5 Rain Reed Diffuser

“I discovered these candles and diffusers while perusing the cereal bowl section at a Crate & Barrel and have not been able to get them off my mind since. Every other rain-scented fragrance I’ve encountered (and being a perfumery graduate, I’ve come across a lot) has not been able to evoke the fresh, cozy melancholy that this cypress-forward one does. It’s clean, slightly green, almost Scandi; it also has just the right amount of vanilla to keep you hooked AF. Also, no notes on that super-giftable minimalist aesthetic. Get your fave hostess the candle, the diffuser, anything in this scent family, really (a close second: Citron), and watch them genuinely squeal in delight.” — ELL

Beats Flex Wireless Earbuds

“These wired (yes, wired) earbuds deliver high-quality sound via Bluetooth, and unlike most wireless earbuds, are very difficult to lose. Simply pop one bud in each ear, and drape the wire connecting them across your neck. It’s unobtrusive and gives your earbuds a natural place to sit when you pop them out. Better still, the backs of both buds are magnetized, so when you bring them together, they send a signal to your phone to pause your music or podcast. For a friend or family member who’s misplacing things constantly, these will save them from regularly having to replace expensive wireless earbuds in the future.” — JG

Edifier W830NB Wireless Over Ear Headphones

“In a year when the market for budget-friendly wireless headphones reached a higher level, the under-$80 (before frequent discounts) Edifier W830NB cans stood out by delivering more value per dollar than any rival. The over-ear headphones impressed me with high-quality sound, support for immersive spatial audio, strong noise cancellation, and fantastic battery life. Combined with their elegant design and comfy fit, these qualities consistently made me feel like I was using a costlier set of headphones.” — SV

Nécessaire The Body Wash Olibanum

“True story: I’m a Nécessaire fanatic and promise you need the brand’s latest drop. The Body Wash quickly became my go-to shower gel since its launch in 2019, and the 2024 upgrade proves that good things don’t need to be fussy. There are currently three new scents to choose from, but I gravitate toward the Olibanum version. The light blend of frankincense, vanilla, cassis buds, and lily of the valley ensures my shower time smells like a sweet and spicy spa day. The Olibanum Body Wash also now contains vitamin C for a brighter complexion, antioxidant-rich vitamin E, and a trio of enzymes to improve uneven skin tone. It’s also the perfect treat for someone who is hard-to-please like a mother figure — my mom is currently obsessed with her bottle, so I’m confident yours will be, too.” — Nicole Saunders, Beauty Editor

Silky Professional Big Boy Folding Saw

“Contestants on the History Channel TV show Alone often bring a larger version of this saw as one of their ten allotted items, but most of us aren’t trying to survive on our own for three months in the arctic. For those with property to maintain or go camping, a high-quality folding saw like the Silky Big Boy will exceed expectations. It folds to a compact size that can be safely carried in a backpack and delivers quick and efficient cuts (on the pull stroke) so you can quickly assemble wood for your campfire without expending much energy. If you’ll be cutting down the family Christmas tree, this saw would also make a great companion, as it’s easy to carry and stowed in a bag.” — Colin Aylesworth, Deputy Editor, Reviews

Otella Cooling Body Spray

“These sprays work so well and are a godsend after a workout or a ride (or dog walk, or honestly just a walk around the block some days) on a hot day. Plus, they smell amazing!” — Natascha Grief, Health and Fitness Editor

Aesop Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm

“Nobody wants dry hands! Greasy palms aren’t exactly desirable, either. That said, I am truly so grateful that the Aesop Aromatique Hand Balm exists. The product has my hands feeling hydrated and light whenever I layer it on. There’s no lingering residue or sticky feeling afterward. (Especially important for those who type on keyboards frequently.) Aesop offers this in three different scents, but my favorite is Reverence, which gives off a smoky and wood-like aroma. I seriously use this every day, and I think everyone else should, too.” — Josiah Soto, Digital Content Producer

Whoop Fitness Tracker 4.0

“Whoop 4.0 offers a more complete picture than most other fitness trackers provide since it measures metrics such as sleep, recovery, and stress (among other things) and allows you to track over time so you can analyze how your body responds to, well, everything. The 4.0 model now also tracks body temp and respiratory rate, which provides an even more detailed reporting of strain, stress, and recovery. Whoop has also recently released a line of sport-specific technical clothing (Assos bibs for cyclists, for example) that seamlessly integrate data collection with built-in Whoop pods.” — NG

Bruvi Coffee and Tea Bundle

“This machine can brew everything from iced coffee and tea to espresso and infused drinks. The interface is tech-savvy yet user-friendly, and there are several helpful features like a used pod receptacle, personalization options, and app compatibility. I love the iced coffee setting because the Bruvi brews at a lower temperature so your ice doesn’t melt and water down your beverage.” — Amber Joglar, Reviews Editor

lululemon Beyondfeel Trail Running Shoes

“2024 is the year I became a fan of lululemon shoes. This is my new favorite running errands and dog-walking shoe. It’s not so much a trail shoe that I feel like I’m wearing a boot, but it has good grip and stability.” — Donna Raskin, Senior Health and Fitness Editor

Beats Pill Bluetooth Speaker

“A fresh take on a legendary product, the Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker is an excellent gift option for anyone in need of a sound upgrade. The portable gadget can blast high-quality sound anywhere and, thanks to an IP67 rating, survive exposure to water and dust. In addition to flawless integration with Apple and Android devices, the Pill is easy to locate and capable of powering up their phone.” — SV

Nomad Stand One Max

“The Stand One Max by Nomad is my favorite MagSafe charger to arrive this year and a great gift for Apple enthusiasts who rock an iPhone, an Apple watch, and AirPods or other wireless earbuds with wireless charging. Crafted from metal and glass, the accessory looks decidedly luxurious and feels incredibly crafted. Of course, it can also rapidly charge Apple gear.” — SV

GiftedGold Custom Album Cover

“I got my closest friends a custom-made poster of their favorite albums from this Etsy store last Christmas, and it was a hit. Each poster features the cover of your selected album, a row of colors matching the album’s artwork, and a list of each track. The final result makes for a nice piece of wall art that can easily be framed.” — XP

Opinel High Carbon Steel Dinner Knives

“If you’re like me, buying a new set of knives is something you put off as long as possible. I cut with dull knives for years until I got this colorful set from Opinel as a gift. The knives are made in France and feature stainless steel blades and hand-varnished hornbeam wooden handles. They also come in an easy-to-wrap box.” — RK

Here is Joni Ernst praising trans in the military. She says she wants a 🏳️‍⚧️ fighting force. Maybe this is why she’s leading the charge against Hegseth? People in Iowa have a well-funded primary challenger ready against her. Her political career is in serious jeopardy.

“Why don’t we start by getting rid of three quarters a million dollars that was spent feeding cocaine to Japanese quail to see if they were more sexually promiscuous on cocaine. Maybe Joe would agree with getting at least that.”

  3. “Elizabeth Warren Walks Right Into a Brick Wall While Trying to Attack Pete Hegseth”

Red State, By Bonchie | 9:59 AM on December 05, 2024

    AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Sometimes I just can’t be sure if a Democrat is as vapid as they come across or if they are really just that dishonest. Enter Elizabeth Warren who decided to lash out at Pete Hegseth on Wednesday, but in the process only managed to walk herself into a brick wall.

Hegseth, who is nominated to be Secretary of Defense under Donald Trump, is currently facing headwinds after The New Yorker dropped a hit piece claiming he had drinking issues while leading a veteran’s advocacy group. Since then, some of his former colleagues have gone on the record to dispute those reports.

Regardless, Democrats smell blood in the water, and Warren joined the fray with this post.

“In 2023, over 29,000 active-duty troops were sexually assaulted, including more than 6 in every 100 women in the military. Many servicemembers never report these crimes. The rates of assault are estimated to be up to 4x higher. Pete Hegseth must not be the Defense Secretary.”

    https://twitter.com/SenWarren/status/1864381954944074178

I had to do a double-take when I read that. Isn’t 2023 firmly in the middle of the now-outgoing Biden administration? Wasn’t Lloyd Austin Secretary of Defense during that time? Didn’t all of the awful things listed by Warren happen on her party’s watch

I mean, I don’t claim to be a genius, but the math isn’t difficult here. Warren is essentially saying, “Look at all these sexual assaults that occurred on active-duty under the Biden administration! We can’t let Pete Hegseth become Defense Secretary!” That’s a “wait, what?” moment if I’ve ever seen one. It’s like getting kicked out of a rental house you vandalized and then demanding the landlord not allow another tenant to live there. Did Warren just not realize how her post would come across, or is she such a dishonest fraud that she didn’t care?

Tweets: Bonchie: “So all that happened on your party’s watch?”

RoscoeSmithIV: “So, because Biden’s Defense Secretary failed you’re going to blame someone that was nominated to fix it? Not understanding the logic here, Pocahontas. Want to try again?”

As to the veracity of her numbers, six percent does seem to be reported by at least one study. The majority of sexual assaults occurred on-base or on-ship during a deployment, with 21 percent of women alleging abuse during instances of hazing or bullying.

Back to Warren’s statement, it’s part of a broader narrative on the left that we see perpetrated anytime Republicans try to change the status quo. For a Democrat, it is assumed that all failures and inefficiencies, up to and including sexual assaults, are acceptable under their leadership. Thus, in the mind of someone like Warren, Hegseth must be worse. Of course, that’s nonsensical. The litany of disasters that have occurred under Democrat leadership count. They aren’t an assumed baseline.

I don’t know what’s going to happen with Hegseth’s nomination. In the end, it’ll be up to Donald Trump whether he makes it to a confirmation vote or not, and that’s his prerogative as the president-elect. In the meantime, though, Democrats should sit down and stop talking. The American people have had enough of their grandstanding while they run the government into the ground.”

  4. EXCERPT: “…..Now, there’s a new role to add to the mix: “White House AI & Crypto Czar.” On Thursday evening, Trump announced that he was naming entrepreneur/investor David Sacks to the position, announcing via Truth Social: https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113603133222686186

I am pleased to announce that David O. Sacks will be the “White House A.I. & Crypto Czar.” In this important role, David will guide policy for the Administration in Artificial Intelligence and Cryptocurrency, two areas critical to the future of American competitiveness. David will focus on making America the clear global leader in both areas. He will safeguard Free Speech online, and steer us away from Big Tech bias and censorship. He will work on a legal framework so the Crypto industry has the clarity it has been asking for, and can thrive in the U.S. David will also lead the Presidential Council of Advisors for Science and Technology…

…David Sacks has been an extremely successful entrepreneur and investor for 25 years, building and investing in some of the most iconic companies in Silicon Valley. He was PayPal’s founding-era COO, part of the legendary “PayPal Mafia.” David then founded enterprise software company, Yammer, which was acquired by Microsoft for $1.2 Billion Dollars. Subsequently he founded Craft Ventures, a venture capital firm based in San Francisco. David is co-host of the All-In Podcast, the top podcast in Tech, where he and his friends discuss economic, political and social issues.

David has the knowledge, business experience, intelligence, and pragmatism to MAKE AMERICA GREAT in these two critical technologies. Congratulations, David!

Sacks, 52, hosted the June fundraiser for Trump in Silicon Valley that hauled in $12 million for the campaign. He spoke at the Republican National Convention and gave a full-throated endorsement of the Trump-Vance ticket.

As Trump notes in his announcement, he views AI and crypto as critical to the nation remaining competitive. It’s smart to tap someone with vision and know-how to help lead on those fronts.”

  5. “What the Trump Nominees Have Not Done — And Will Not Do”

TownHall, Victor Davis Hanson | Dec 06, 2024

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Deflated by the resounding November defeat, the left now believes it can magically rebound by destroying President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees. Many of Trump’s picks are well outside the usual Washington, D.C./New York political, media, and corporate nexus. But that is precisely the point — to insert reformers into a bloated, incompetent, and weaponized government who are not part of it.

Trump’s nominee for FBI director, Kash Patel, is already drawing severe criticism. His furious enemies cannot go after his resume since he has spent a lifetime in private, congressional, and executive billets, both in investigations and intelligence. Instead, they claim he is too vindictive and does not reflect the ethos of the FBI. But what will Patel not do as the new director?

He will not serially lie under oath to federal investigators as did interim FBI Director Andrew McCabe, a current Patel critic. He will not forge an FBI court affidavit, as did convicted felon and agency lawyer Kevin Clinesmith. He will not claim amnesia 245 times under congressional oath to evade embarrassing admissions as did former Director James Comey.

He will not partner with a foreign national to collect dirt and subvert a presidential campaign as the FBI did with Christopher Steele in 2016. He will not use the FBI to draft social media to suppress news unfavorable to a presidential candidate on the eve of an election. He would not have suppressed FBI knowledge that Hunter Biden’s laptop was genuine — to allow the lie to spread that it was “Russian disinformation” on the eve of the 2020 election.

He will not raid the home of an ex-president with SWAT teams, surveil Catholics, monitor parents at school board meetings, or go after pro-life peaceful protestors.

Decorated combat veteran Pete Hegseth is another controversial nominee for secretary of defense. What will Hegseth likely not do?

Go AWOL without notifying the president of a serious medical procedure as did current Secretary Lloyd Austin? Install race and gender criteria for promotion and mandate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training? Insinuate falsely that cabals of white supremacists had infiltrated the military –only to alienate that entire demographic and thus ensure the Pentagon came up 40,000 recruits short?

Oversee the scramble from Kabul that saw $50 billion in U.S. military equipment abandoned to Taliban terrorists? Watch passively as a Chinese spy balloon traversed the continental United States for a week? Allow the chairman of the Joint Chiefs to promise his Chinese communist counterpart that the People’s Liberation Army would first be informed if the President of the United States was felt to issue a dangerous order?

Rotate into the Pentagon from a defense contractor boardship and then leave office to rotate back there to leverage procurement decisions? Oversee the Pentagon’s serial flunking of fiscal audits?

Health and Human Services nominee Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is certainly a maverick. He may earn the most Democratic hits, given his former liberal credentials.

But what will RFK also not do as HHS secretary? Oversee his agencies circumventing U.S. law by transferring money to communist China to help it produce lethal gain-of-function viruses of the COVID-19 sort — in the manner of Dr. Fauci? Organize scientists to go after critics of mandatory masking and defame them?

Give pharmaceutical companies near-lifetime exemptions from legal jeopardy for rushing into production mRNA vaccines not traditionally vetted and tested? Leave office to monetize his HHS expertise and thus make millions from the pharmaceutical companies?

Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence, former congressional representative and military veteran Tulsi Gabbard, will soon be defamed in congressional hearings. But what has Gabbard not done?

Joined “51 former intelligence authorities” to lie on the eve of the 2020 election that the Hunter Biden laptop “had all the hallmarks” of a Russian information/disinformation operation” — in an effort to swing the election to incumbent Joe Biden? Lied under congressional oath like former DNI James Clapper, who claimed he only gave the “least untruthful answer” in congressional testimony?

Encourage the FBI to monitor a presidential campaign in efforts to discredit it –in the manner of former CIA Director John Brennan, who lied not once but twice under oath? Fail to foresee the American meltdown in Kabul, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel, or the Houthis’ takeover of the Red Sea?

We are going to hear some outrageous things in the upcoming congressional confirmation hearings. But one thing we will not hear about are the crimes, deceptions, and utter incompetence of prior and current government grandees.

The current crew, not their proposed Trump replacements, prompted the sick and tired American people to demand different people. Voters want novel approaches to reform a government that they not only no longer trust but also now deeply fear.”

  6. https://www.foxnews.com/media/former-wapo-reporter-says-we-want-executives-dead-after-murder-health-insurance-ceo

“Former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz wrote several social media posts appearing to celebrate UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s murder while suggesting other executives should also be targeted.

Thompson was shot and killed at close range in midtown Manhattan Wednesday morning, outside the Hilton Hotel. The suspect remains at large.

“And people wonder why we want these executives dead,” Lorenz wrote hours later, referencing Thompson’s death in a Bluesky post with a report about Blue Cross Blue Shield no longer covering anesthesia for the full length of some surgeries.

Lorenz also posted an image of Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Kim Keck with a similar article on both Bluesky and X.

She reposted another user who wrote, “[H}ypothetically, would it be considered an actionable threat to start emailing other insurance CEOs a simple ‘you’re next’? Completely unrelated to current events btw.”

She later seemed to defend the harsh posts, claiming there’s “very justified hatred” against CEOs for the “amount of death and suffering” for which they allegedly bear responsibility.

“People have very justified hatred toward insurance company CEOs because these executives are responsible for an unfathomable amount of death and suffering. As someone against death and suffering, I think it’s good to call out this broken system and the ppl in power who enable it,” Lorenz wrote. — FOX News

  7. Blackburn unveils ‘DOGE Acts’ to cut spending, freeze federal hiring and salaries

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) has unveiled her “DOGE Acts” to cut spending and freeze federal hiring, as well as salaries.

“Senator Blackburn is planning to introduce a package of bills – known as the DOGE Acts – aimed at holding the federal government more accountable for managing taxpayer dollars next week,” Blackburn’s spokesperson said in a statement. “The DOGE Acts coincides with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy’s plan to make the federal government more efficient.”

The legislation “would cut discretionary spending, move federal agencies out of the swamp, freeze federal hiring and salaries for one year, begin the process of a merit-based compensation structure for federal employees, and require agencies to get employees back in the office,” according to the statement.

The bills in the package would create a commission centered on the relocation away from D.C. of some federal agencies; cause a yearlong pause in federal hiring and salaries; and make the federal government have a pilot program in which civilian employees would be compensated in relation to their merit.

Last month, President-elect Trump said tech billionaire Elon Musk and former GOP presidential primary candidate Vivek Ramaswamy would serve as the heads of the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), which aims to “slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures” and restructure federal agencies. — The Hill

Libs of TikTok, Dec 06, 2024

“Ever since Donald Trump won the Presidency, liberals have continued to choose the path of having complete meltdowns. While many record themselves pathetically crying and post it to TikTok, others decide to take the time to attack Trump supporters. One of these shining examples is a beauty salon owner from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho who expressed how she thinks Trump supporters are racist, homophobic, misogynist and she doesn’t mind losing your business.

Well, after I posted her video for all to see, she quickly learned the meaning of FAFO. Within a few days, she returned to TikTok to inform us that her clients were dropping like flies. Who could have seen that coming? The insanity doesn’t end there though. After it was announced that men were not allowed to use the women’s restroom on Capitol Hill, flocks of LGBTQ activists descended upon the bathrooms to stage protests, including a dance party.

While the mainstream media continues to push transgender propaganda and attack common-sense and science-backed policies, they are also suppressing stories that don’t fit their narrative.

Ivory Smith, a 7-year-old only child was tragically killed in a fatal car accident caused by a drunk-driving illegal alien who came here in 2023 named Joel Enrique Gonzalez Chacin. Ivory’s mother, who was also in the car, was sent to the hospital in critical condition after losing her only daughter. Please keep praying for her.

But Ivory was not the only innocent child to be harmed this week. More tragedy fell in the town of Oroville, California, when a career criminal named Glenn Litton opened fire at a small Christian school. Two young boys, Roman Mendez and Elias Wolford, were critically injured in the shooting.

It was discovered that he specifically targeted the Christian children as a “response to America’s involvement with genocide & oppression of Palestinians.” More violence from Pro-Palestine activists. Glenn Litton took his own life before police arrived on the scene. The two boys are currently fighting for their lives in critical condition at the hospital.

The mainstream media is dead set on spewing lies to cover up narratives that don’t fit their agenda. That’s why it’s my mission at Libs of TikTok is to expose the truth and hold the media and these institutions responsible.

With your support, I will continue shedding light on the key issues that affect every American. If the media won’t do their job, then I’ll do it for them. We are the media now! Together, we will make a difference.

Have a great weekend and see you next week! -Chaya
