Fuzzy, shy, and downright adorable, white-tailed deer are among the most abundant creatures in America’s woodlands. Adults are characterized by their reddish-brown coats, which fade to a grayer brown from summer to winter. They have excellent eyesight and hearing, and are even good enough swimmers to escape predators by crossing rivers or lakes with relative ease.
From how they got their name to the story behind their booming population in the United States, explore these 15 wonderful facts about white-tailed deer.
1 White-Tailed Deer Are Found in Central and North America
Even though they are native to North America, white-tailed deer have extended their range through Central America to Bolivia. Still, the vast majority live in southern Canada and throughout the mainland United States. They prefer open woodland but can also be found on the outskirts of developed urban areas and even near agricultural lands and cactus-filled deserts. An ideal habitat for a white-tailed deer consists of dense thickets of shrubs in which to hide and feed.
2 They Are the Most Common Deer Species in North America
The IUCN estimates the population of white-tailed deer in the United States to number over 11 million, and about a third live in the state of Texas. The white-tailed deer range has pushed farther up into Canada due to habitat loss, and there are believed to be half a million of them there already. Numbers in North America are stable and abundant, but in Mexico, Central America, and South America, most populations are declining.
3 Only Some Individuals Migrate
Experts believe that populations of white-tailed deer who live in low-quality home ranges are more likely to migrate to different locations in the summer. In contrast, those who are lucky enough to live in regions with better weather and more food abundance typically stay put throughout the year. Researchers studying white-tailed deer in Washington state have found that, surprisingly, survival rates for both migrating and non-migrating groups are nearly identical. In fact, annual survival rates for migrating deer were slightly higher, at 0.85 compared to non-migratory individuals at 0.84.
4 White-Tailed Deer Grazing Can Influence the Ecosystem
Since white-tailed deer are so abundant, their grazing can significantly affect the composition of plants within their habitats. Throughout the northern United States, tree seedling abundance decreases when white-tailed deer density grows above 5.8 individuals per square kilometer (0.38 square miles) in most forests. Introduced or non-native plant species, however, increase in areas with higher deer density. As ruminant animals, they typically feed on what’s most available to them, their four-chambered stomachs allowing them to digest anything from leaves, twigs, moss, and even fungi. They also consume the buds of maple trees, poplar trees, birch trees, and shrubs, switching to hardier plants and conifers in the winter when food becomes scarce.
5 They Often Live Alone
One would think that such a populous species would prefer to live in large groups, but the white-tailed deer is generally a solitary creature. They tend to live alone, especially during the summer months, and males and females only interact during mating season. Most of the time, if you see multiple deer together, it is either a female (called a “doe”) and her babies (called “fawns”) or a small group of young adult males (called “bucks”).
6 Disney’s Bambi Was Modeled After a White-Tailed Deer
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-472096009-02c0d7616cae4e4181f7505365978cae.jpg)
According to the New England Historical Society, one of Disney’s earliest animators helped bring white-tailed deer to the big screen in 1942. Walt Disney himself hired Maurice Day for the film, and the artist would reportedly settle for nothing less than a white-tailed deer from his home state of Maine as the model for the young fawn. As a result, two 4-month-old deer were transported from Maine to Hollywood after a four-day train ride across the country to model Bambi, and the rest is cinematic history.
7 They Live Three Times Longer in Captivity Than in the Wild
Most wild white-tailed deer live to about two or three years old, and most adults don’t make it past 10. On the other hand, deer held in captivity can live up to three times longer than their wild counterparts, something scientists believe has to do specifically with the difference in diet. Not only do captive white-tailed deer deal with significantly less stress because they aren’t required to find their own food, but studies have found that their diets contain more protein and less carbon.
8 Only Bucks Grow Antlers
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-496440308-e4ed6c08dd214be9a1fe188c85cb1814.jpg)
Female white-tailed deer don’t have antlers, but males begin growing them at just a few months old. Made of a combination of bone and keratin (the same material that makes up human hair and fingernails), antlers are used to attract females and to spar against other males to assert dominance. It has been well-documented that both body size and antler size are positively associated with annual breeding success among males, and older males with larger antlers are more likely to breed than those with smaller ones. Males shed their antlers every year, a completely natural process caused by a drop in testosterone after the end of mating season.
9 White-Tailed Deer Are Important Prey Animals for Large Predators
Although humans remain the largest predator for white-tailed deer, they are also preyed on by wolves, mountain lions, bears, jaguars, and coyotes. This predator-prey relationship is especially important to the local food chain and can leave more room for the survival of stronger, healthier animals, and also help control the spread of disease through population control.
10 They Are the Smallest of North America’s Deer Species
With an average height between 31 and 39 inches at the shoulders, white-tailed deer are smaller than other North American species. While white-tailed deer and mule deer are the only species native to the United States, there are also caribou, moose (the largest member of the deer family), brocket deer, and elk that now call North America home.
11 They Can Run 30 Miles per Hour and Jump Higher Than 8 Feet
:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/GettyImages-1090227116-ed1b80b2756247b484363df0fa63a34b.jpg)
White-tailed deer have been recorded bounding speeds of up to 30 miles per hour through the forest, and researchers have found that their jumping abilities are even more impressive. A study in the Journal of Wildlife Management found that wild deer could jump fences just under 8 feet tall. After the experiment, they surveyed over 150 wildlife biologists who routinely observe deer close to fences and found at least six who said they had witnessed a deer jumping a 7.87-foot fence.
12 White-Tailed Deer Are Known for Their Grunts
From snorts to bleats, white-tailed does and fawns make a variety of sounds. Males, however, are especially known for their loud grunts, which they make to show their dominance to other bucks nearby. Adults and offspring will also make soft grunts to communicate with each other, but they are often much longer and quieter than a buck grunt. These aggressive buck grunts are strictly social, used to announce their presence in the area and send a message to other males.
13 They Can Weigh Up to 300 Pounds
Despite being the smallest of the North American deer, white-tailed deer can still hold their own in terms of weight. A mature buck may weigh anywhere from 200 to 300 pounds, while females show much more variety in size, averaging 90 to 200 pounds.
14 White-Tails Make Up Most of the United States Hunting Industry
Each year, the National Deer Association reports on the hunting status of the North American population of white-tailed deer. In 2018, deer harvest went up in the states of Kentucky, Missouri, New England, New York, and Wisconsin. The year 2017 saw a total of 2,878,998 bucks killed throughout the United States, up 2% from the previous year. Texas, which also holds the highest concentration of white-tailed deer in the country, shot the most bucks (506,809), and Rhode Island shot the least (782).
15 They’re Named for Their White Tails
True to its name, the white-tailed deer has a white tail, though only on the underside; the top of its tail maintains the same light brown color as the rest of its body. When a white-tailed deer is alarmed or senses danger, it flips its tail up to display the white underside in a motion called “flagging.” Apart from being white on the bottom, their tails are also larger and broader than other deer species.

RFK Jr on How Bill Gates Had the Foresight to Buy Over a Million Shares of BioNTech Stock Before the World Found Out About the COVID Pandemic
“The same week Bill Gates, who was overseeing the [Event 201] simulation, bought 1.1 Million shares of BioNTech vaccine which later became the Pfizer vaccine. He then sold almost all that stock two years later at a $242,000,000 profit. And a week after that he announced the vaccine didn’t work. That’s what you call a ‘pump-and-dump’ scheme.” *From Porcfest 2023

Judicial Watch Asks Court to Deny Biden Justice Department Request to Transfer Ashli Babbitt $30 Million Wrongful Death Lawsuit from California to Washington, DC
Judicial Watch Asks Court to Deny Biden Justice Department Request to Transfer Ashli Babbitt $30 Million Wrongful Death Lawsuit from California to Washington, DC | Judicial Watch
Arguing against the change of venue, Judicial Watch points out that under federal law a “civil action against the United States may be brought in any judicial district in which the plaintiff resides,” and “a civil action on a tort claim against the United States may be prosecuted in the judicial district where the plaintiff resides.”
It’s no secret that the District of Columbia is a hostile forum for January 6 defendants. It’s also prejudicially biased against Ashli Babbitt. For example, during a recent sentencing hearing in the District of Columbia in United States v. Daniel Goodwyn … District Judge Reggie B. Walton made the following statement to the defendant and his counsel regarding the shooting of Ashli Babbitt:
THE COURT: You should not have been – you cannot convince me that somehow what she was doing was somehow justified and the police did not have a justification for taking the actions that they took. You can’t convince me of that.
Judge Walton’s statement evidences he has already predetermined a crucial issue in this case – whether Ashli Babbitt’s killing was justified. Judge Walton made other biased comments on the record, including, “Well, she shouldn’t have been coming through the window,” and “this man who was protecting the Capitol ends up being called a thug … that is just mind boggling.” …

This is a sad story and a reflection on who the Biden’s are, complete and utter narcissists.
“Jill Biden Receives 2024 White House Christmas Tree…But There’s One Detail About the Tree That Caused a Stir (VIDEO)”
Excerpts:
The tree, a Frasier fir, came from a Christmas tree farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina.
Jill Biden said the Blue Ridge Mountains was recently devastated by Hurricane Helene and the Cartner family lost thousands of trees in the storm.
“But this one remained standing and they named it ‘Treemendous’ for the extraordinary hope that it represents,” Dr. Jill said.
The Biden White House took the one tree that survived. How symbolic.

EXCERPT: “Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) recently sent a stern message to the outgoing Biden-Harris Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin to stop trying to undermine the incoming Trump administration.
In a November 20, 2024, letter, he wrote to Austin:
Cotton cited media reports that said Pentagon officials were holding meetings to strategize against President-elect Donald Trump’s defense agenda, “while also promulgating false claims that the incoming administration plans to arbitrarily fire uniformed leaders.”
He also noted to Austin that the day after the election, he sent a memo to the entire department commenting that the military would follow “lawful orders” from Trump, which Cotton called “a thinly veiled and baseless insinuation that President Trump will issue unlawful orders.”
Cotton said the Pentagon has also attempted to obstruct Trump’s plans for “badly needed” defense civil service reform….”

EXCERPT: “Independent professionals and small businesses were hoping to breathe a sigh of relief that President-elect Donald Trump’s win of the presidency would bring an end to the freelance busting by the Democrats and the United States Department of Labor. We were buoyed by the thought that after increasing years of opposition by labor unions and regulatory agencies, we perhaps could finally be free to do our chosen work without threat or reprisal.
The nomination of soon-to-be-former Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR) for Labor Secretary quickly deflated that hope. Trump appears to have made a Faustian bargain with Teamsters President Sean O’Brien, who delivered a speech at July’s Republican National Convention, the first time any union boss had appeared at any Republican convention.
As is their wont, labor unions generally throw their lot behind the Democrats. While some saw this as a positive sea change, independent professionals and small business owners saw it for what it was: a warning knell.
While Trump’s first administration had the back of independent professionals, entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small business, this Trump campaign and potential administration was seeking to show itself friendly to the unions. In doing this, it seems the new administration might be selling out the 64 million Americans who simply want to be left alone to pursue economic happiness without encumbrance.
With the nomination of Chavez-DeRemer, this was confirmed. O’Brien took credit for pushing her to the Trump transition team as a pick, and he championed her on his X account…..”
“…..For O’Brien, “putting American workers first” means eliminating independent professionals and small businesses. Many of us hire those very workers O’Brien claims he wants to put first. How does destroying our enterprises serve this? As Freedom Foundation CEO Aaron Withe wrote:
Now that Chavez-DeRemer has lost her congressional seat, she is in the perfect position to inflict more damage. Many freelancers see her as O’Brien’s Trojan horse to influence the resurrection of the PRO Act and to see the regulatory version embodied in the Biden-Harris final independent contractor rule enforced.
As a freshman congresswoman, Chavez-DeRemer was a co-sponsor of the PRO Act and another piece of legislation that are a direct attack on independent professionals. This gives a window into how she could potentially head the U.S. Department of Labor….”

Just The News: “President-elect Donald Trump’s White House chief of staff Susie Wiles on Tuesday announced that the incoming presidential administration has moved onto its second transition phase, now that Trump has finished selecting his presidential Cabinet.
Trump spent the first few weeks after winning reelection earlier this month by nominating people for his incoming Cabinet, and making other critical appointments, including his White House staff. The new Senate will still need to confirm the nominees.
Wiles, who served as Trump’s campaign co-chair, said the new phase includes executing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the current White House. “This engagement allows our intended Cabinet nominees to begin critical preparations, including the deployment of landing teams to every department and agency, and complete the orderly transition of power,” she said in a statement.
The memorandum claims the presidential transition team will not use taxpayer money for costs related to the process, and outlines how the transition will not use government buildings or technology provided by General Services Administration (GSA) or require additional government and bureaucratic oversight.
The transition plan will allow teams to quickly integrate into their new roles, and give them immediate access to documents and policy sharing, which could lay the groundwork for Trump’s new administration to receive the necessary security clearances needed for accessing classified information, CNN reported.
The new phase also means that the Biden administration can now begin its preparations to hand the reins over to the new administration ahead of Trump’s January 20 inauguration.”

Just The News: “The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs announced Tuesday it would offer a pilot program for green burial sections at three national cemeteries.
The agency said the program provides veterans with burial options that minimize environmental impact. The three national cemeteries participating are National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona; Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
The VA’s National Cemetery Administration is trying the pilot program.
“NCA is pleased to begin offering this new option to veterans and their family members eligible for interment in a VA national cemetery,” Acting Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs Ronald Walters said in a statement. “This pilot reflects our commitment to understand and address the emerging burial preferences of veterans and their loved ones.”
Lawmakers gave VA the authority to establish green burial sections through the National Cemeteries Preservation and Protection Act of 2022. VA officials said they wanted to offer a more environmentally sustainable burial option for Veterans and their eligible dependents in national cemeteries.
The program will allow NCA to gather information and define operational procedures for implementing green burial sections at additional cemeteries. Veterans seeking interment in these national cemeteries can request green burials effective immediately.”

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/11/25/exclusive-crescent-dunes-biden-doj-moved-election-night-cover-up-alleged-solar-energy-scandal/
Our Take: The green new deal is a money laundering operation, and this became apparent back during the Obama administration with Solyndra. Obama gave $535M to Solyndra to produce specialized solar panels. Then the company went out of business. The scandal was quickly memory-holed.
This Crescent Dunes project also goes back to the Obama administration, and also appears to be a money-laundering operation — but the moves of the Biden DOJ on election night will not be so easily forgotten.
It seems obvious that the DOJ is tying off all these investigations for nefarious purposes. If these investigations and, in this case, lawsuits, were legitimate, the DOJ would want them to continue in the new administration to ensure the ends of justice. But they’re trying to close them out before incoming AG Pam Bondi and her team can have a look. Seems legit.
It’s also important to remember — and this point cannot be stressed enough — that the green new deal has nothing to do with the environment. Consider:
“In addition to its struggles to turn a profit, the plant also was criticized because birds were dying in the intense heat produced by the panels. Some reports indicated that birds had burst into flames in mid-flight.”
Windmills are beaching whales. Plastic bags replaced paper bags to save trees but then became the nation’s number one pollutant. Hydroelectric power destroys river ecosystems by adjusting river flows based on human demand.
Environmentalists’ solutions always end in worse environmental outcomes, but not before taxpayers have shelled out hundreds of millions of dollars. It’s never about the environment. It’s about money, power, and control.
With the incoming administration’s focus on rooting out systemic corruption, I doubt this coverup will stand. Justice — real justice — is coming. Soon. — Ashe in America

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/nov/26/trump-transition-team-fbi-security-clearances-background-checks
“Donald Trump’s transition team is planning for all cabinet picks to receive sweeping security clearances from the president-elect and only face FBI background checks after the incoming administration takes over the bureau and its own officials are installed in key positions, according to people familiar with the matter.
The move appears to mean that Trump’s team will continue to skirt FBI vetting and may not receive classified briefings until Trump is sworn in on 20 January and unilaterally grant sweeping security clearances across the administration.
Trump’s team has regarded the FBI background check process with contempt for months, a product of their deep distrust of the bureau ever since officials turned over transition records to the Russia investigation during the first Trump presidency, the people said.
But delaying FBI vetting could also bring ancillary PR benefits for the Trump team if some political appointees run into problems during a background check, which could upend their Senate confirmation process, or if they struggle to obtain security clearances once in the White House.
The putative process for obtaining a clearance in the first Trump administration involved the White House’s personnel security office relying on an FBI background check to decide whether to grant one. The background check initially looked for untrustworthiness or red flags that could be exploited by adversaries.
If the initial checks against law enforcement databases uncovered no issues, applicants were granted an interim clearance while deeper investigations continued until it was advanced to a permanent clearance. The current Trump plan appears set to bypass that initial stage. — The Guardian

“It’s easy to get lost in the amazing array of products promising to clear sinus pressure, dry up sniffles and stop plaguing coughs. Some concoctions even offer it all in one magical pill. But doctors say the science behind some of those claims is lackluster.
“There’s just not much that’s very effective for treating the common cold,” said Dr. Lauren Eggert, clinical assistant professor in the Pulmonary Allergy and Critical Care Division at Stanford University. “Most of the things out there — antihistamines, decongestants, cough medicines — none of them have a lot of evidence that they’re super effective at improving cough or common cold symptoms.”
Isn’t it great to know that shit we’ve been buying – and taking – for decades isn’t worth much of anything? Our own gullibility may be to blame because we want – actually almost have to – believe what people say about the products they produce. It’s a classic case of ‘if it sounds too good to be true it’s probably bullshit. Go figure, huh?”

“Bob Crowell was working in the fields out in Hood County when he jumped back into his truck and saw a foot long rattler poking out of an AC vent. Bob, who has worked outdoors for years, wasn’t too surprised by this discovery, taking out his cell phone and getting video of his encounter and posting it Facebook. The video has been viewed over 6 million times. (That was in 2019 and his video is no longer available) He jokingly says he will sell the views for a penny apiece.
Bob says that he believes the snake got into his truck via a bag he uses to cover his air compressor. One night last week, he left the bag on the ground and picked it up the next day and put it in his truck and he believes the snake slithered out of the bag and into the air vent. He was able to use a pair of hemostats and safely removed the snake and released it back into the field.”

Read on X MASSIVE: 11 State Attorneys General led by @KenPaxtonTX are *SUING* BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street for anti-trust violations.
The Big 3 asset managers abused their market power to drive up the nation’s energy prices, according to the lawsuit.
“The lawsuit argues that the big 3 asset managers have used their substantial holdings in American energy companies to artificially suppress the supply of coal, which in turn has driven up the price of coal, resulting in higher end costs for consumers nationwide,” @WillHild reported on X.
“According to the lawsuit, there is verifiable proof that the big 3 asset managers have worked in tandem to leverage their combined ownership power to pressure coal companies into submitting to their Net-Zero goals (like reducing carbon emissions from coal by more than 50%),” he continued.
“If the allegations in the lawsuit are true (which I believe they are), it would mean @BlackRock, @Vanguard_Group and @StateStreet are not only guilty of violating antitrust law, they are also guilty of massive fraud by continually misleading investors,” he added.
The Biden administration had been heavily influenced by Larry Fink’s BlackRock, so this represents a titanic shift in policy towards these asset managers.
This lawsuit could also lead to lower energy prices for consumers, when combined with an America First, all-of-the-above energy strategy and the deregulation expected to come through @DOGE recommendations under the forthcoming Trump administration.
This is a massive lawsuit with huge implications for the relationship of the U.S. government towards these huge asset managers.

“Boris Epshteyn’s Integral Role in Trump’s Legal and Political Wins
It is in large part due to his efforts that the lawfare against President Trump has been collapsing like dominoes, one by one, ever since November 5th’s historic victory.”
Paul Ingrassia, Nov 27, 2024
EXCERPT: “Donald Trump’s presidential transition currently underway has by all accounts been a smooth and seamless process. Indeed, just yesterday, Emerson College released a poll that gave the soon-to-be 47th President one of the highest approval ratings in his entire political career. The Emerson poll was matched by a CBS poll, which showed a supermajority of Americans – 65% – approved the transition process so far, a commanding figure that supplements the President’s commanding victory, a political landslide, from a little over three weeks ago.
Because things are moving remarkably smooth – the process has been analogized to a “well-oiled machine” – some of the usual suspects in the flailing, failing legacy news media – i.e., The New York Times and CNN, et al. – have been scampering about, in a nervous frenzy, trying to make mountains out of not even molehills, but what might at best be described as mere specks of dust.
And so, the usual culprits in the lying press naturally target the most loyal confidantes – and this week, it was Boris Epshteyn in the media crosshairs. Epshteyn is the President’s long time trusted legal adviser, who formerly served in the first administration, and has been overseeing significant aspects of the present transition from an exclusive perch at Mar-a-Lago.
Epshteyn was a natural target for legacy media: he has been so loyal to President Trump, having served by 47’s side and remaining a ubiquitous presence ever since that fateful descent from the golden escalator nearly a decade ago. This loyalty is so rare in politics – but it’s especially rare among lawyers, particularly in the Trump orbit of the last ten years or so, who have undergone significant turnover in handling the various investigations, witch-hunts, and legal charades that have targeted both President and his fiercest allies alike – in large part because so few were willing to stand by Donald Trump when things got really tough.
And tough things got. Although now seemingly the entire world is – rightly – elated by the President’s historic feat, and duly participating in those celebrations, signing up in droves to work for the incoming Trump administration, two short years ago it was a dramatically different story. Then, there were only a handful of stalwart loyalists who stuck out their necks for the President – and still believed he had another successful run in him – as the rest of the political world wrote him off, condemning the 45th President to political exile for all time.
Boris Epshteyn was one such loyalist who stood by Donald Trump. It was during these dark, uncertain days that Epshteyn proved he was made of sterner stuff. During this time, he helped assemble the legal teams – which now include superstars like Todd Blanche, Trump’s pick for Deputy Attorney General, and Emil Bove, the soon-to-be Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General – that were facing a legal battle for the ages.
Epshteyn and the legal team he helped assemble were about to plunge into unprecedented waters, one whose prospects of victory were at the time exceedingly bleak. It’s easy in hindsight, with victory now in tow, to forget just how grim the times were even just two short years ago, when the President was basically forced into announcing a third presidential run with the looming prospect of political persecution hanging over his head.
It’s not like he had much of a choice, and the choice he did have was quite stark: become president again, or face maybe the rest of his life behind bars. For his lawyers, the prospects weren’t much better: any would-be loss came with not just the threat of a legal defeat but possibly even prison for defending the greatest enemy of the Biden regime. To put things mildly, there wasn’t much room for error!….”

“The “Gaetz as Special Counsel” Hullabaloo: A brief glance at the possibility of a Gaetz Special Counsel appointment”
Ryan DeLarme, Nov 27, 2024
“For a time, Gaetz was causing the heads of corporate journos and establishment stooges to explode as Trump put his name forward for Attorney General.
Much like the placement of Tulsi Gabbard as DNI, the prospect of a firebrand like Matt Gaetz running the Justice Department sent a powerful signal out to all of the gameboard. Regardless of whether or not that appointment was ever intended to be a serious selection, it caused those individuals who may have something to hide to out themselves publicly. This was the case whether it was on X or one of the numerous mainstream news shows whose content strategy for the past few weeks has been to feature such venerable and exalted figures as John Brennan and Andrew McCabe to warn of the dangers of Gaetz, Gabbard, and Kennedy.
The reality of what happened, putting speculation regarding intentionality aside, is that it’s now obvious who in the Senate is going to play ball with Team Trump’s more radical and populist endeavors this term. Any Republican Senator who voted to confirm Merrick Garland but not Matt Gaetz has earned a red flag and their opinion on any of the MAGA proposals that veer too far from the establishment orthodoxy can likely be pre-sussed.
Could it be that Gatez was seriously put up for this role with the intention of getting him confirmed? Absolutely, though based on everything we’ve seen over the years RE team Team Trump’s playstyle, it feels much more like an opening gambit to me rather than an unexpected failure.
Another angle to all of this is the possibility of a Matt Gaetz Special Counsel appointment.
X has been abuzz with posts that would lead you to believe that it is all but certain that Matt Gaetz is going to become Special Counsel. Given that these kind of exciting and almost clickbait-y predictions come and go quite frequently, I’m naturally reticent to chime in and offer an opinion, but it is still worth exploring the idea.
A Special Counsel is an attorney appointed to investigate and potentially prosecute cases where there is a conflict of interest or special circumstances within the Department of Justice (DOJ). This role is established under the regulations at 28 CFR § 600.1 et seq., which allow the Attorney General to appoint a Special Counsel when it is determined that criminal investigation or prosecution is warranted, and a normal DOJ investigation would present a conflict of interest or other extraordinary circumstances.
Much of the substantive discourse surrounding this topic has been about whether or not the Senate will need to confirm Gaetz or not once the Attorney General hypothetically selects Gaetz as SC, with the answer being a little murky.
Some believe that a Special Counsel does not need to be confirmed by the Senate. The appointment is made by the Attorney General, who has the authority to select an individual with a reputation for integrity and impartial decision-making to serve in this capacity.
Others point to Special Counsel Jack Smith and the ruling made by Judge Eileen Cannon which dismissed the infamous “classified documents” case on the grounds that he, as special counsel, was never confirmed by the Senate.
As per her ruling:
From here, with the differentiation between “principal and inferior officer” the argument becomes a little more convoluted.
Principal Officers must be nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. This includes positions like ambassadors, judges of the Supreme Court, and other significant executive officers. They typically have broad authority and often operate with a degree of independence from other oversight within their domains.
If a Special Counsel were considered a principal officer, their appointment would require Senate confirmation, which has not been the established practice for Special Counsels. This classification would mean the Special Counsel would have significant autonomy and could not be easily removed without Senate involvement.
Congress can vest the appointment of inferior officers in the President alone, the courts of law, or the heads of departments. For Special Counsels, this means the Attorney General can appoint them without Senate confirmation. Inferior officers are generally subject to some level of supervision or oversight by principal officers. In the case of a Special Counsel:
Cases like Morrison v. Olson (1988) have classified the independent counsel—a predecessor to today’s Special Counsel—as an inferior officer due to these attributes. The court noted factors like limited jurisdiction, performance of specific duties, and temporary nature of the office as hallmarks of inferior officer status.
Unless I’m missing something, which is highly likely as I am not a legal scholar, Pamela Bondi, if confirmed as Attorney General, could potentially appoint Matt Gaetz as a Special Counsel under the designation of an inferior officer. However, the actual decision would also weigh heavily on the political and ethical landscape at the time of appointment.
Another thing to consider is that our government hasn’t exactly been operating “by the books” these last several years, and it is beyond likely that deep state assets in the House and Senate will attempt to bend the rules in their favor IE what they allowed for Jack Smith, the sort of side-stepping of rules and procedures, they will not allow for Gaetz.
It’s unclear to me what role Gaetz will fulfill in this administration if any, there’s talk of him gunning for DeSantis’s job in Florida, some think he will take some other role in Trump world, who’s to say? Either way, he has officially relinquished his seat and claims that he will not be rejoining Congress.
Naturally, the Media are trying to point to the drama with Gaetz as proof of Trump’s “vetting weakness”, but I believe the likelihood that it was more of a feint, a dabbling, if you will, into the same fakeness that’s become the modus operandi of the deep state and its press wizards.
Trump has shown that two can play that game.”

Phew! Craziness at WM but, then, I knew it would be. First I had to beard VZW in their den and get them straightened out. SMH – I told them they need to train their people better because he flat-out lied to me!!! I ended up having to pay their BS “restocking fee” for returning the smart phone. Stupid sales clerk was wearing a mask – I asked him why and he said because of all the customers he sees and people might be sick. When he started getting defensive about it, I let it go. If they would allow themselves to be exposed, they would develop antibodies but hey – each to his own! He’ll just get sicker when he DOES get whatever! Serves him right!
On a good note, I got gas for $2.59/gal at the store where I get my cigs. They give you a discount if you pay with cash since it saves them $$$. Needless to say, a lot of empty shelves @ WM.

“Donald Trump Is About to Go Nuclear on the FBI”
PJ Media, Matt Margolis | 9:25 AM on November 27, 2024
“President-elect Donald J. Trump is gearing up to go nuclear on the FBI and Justice Department, and who can blame him? After years of relentless targeting, capped off with a federal raid on his home in a blatant attempt to torpedo his 2024 campaign, Trump emerged victorious. Now it’s his turn to strike back.
The gloves are off, and the days of tolerating the FBI’s overreach are over. Trump reportedly plans to bypass the FBI’s compromised background checks altogether, issuing security clearances to his appointees on his own authority. This scorched-earth approach sends a clear message: the Biden DOJ’s partisan games are finished. With his team in place, Trump is ready to dismantle the Democratic Party’s stronghold on the FBI, beginning the long-overdue process of restoring integrity to the nation’s top law enforcement agencies.
“Donald Trump’s transition team is planning for all political appointees to receive sweeping security clearances on the first day and only face FBI background checks after the incoming administration takes over the bureau and its own officials are installed in key positions, according to people familiar with the matter,” reports The Guardian.
According to the report, this approach reflects the ongoing distrust of the FBI, which, of course, began with its handling of transition records during the Russia investigation in Trump’s first term. Trump’s team may not get classified briefings until he is sworn in on January 20, opting to unilaterally issue clearances across the administration.
Let’s be honest here. Trump has little reason to trust the FBI and has every reason to proceed with caution. Trump was undermined from within throughout his first term, and he knows he cannot allow the same mistake to happen again. As you read this, there are probably enemies inside thinking of ways to undermine his presidency.
The story notes that during Trump’s first term, “multiple advisers faced delays and hurdles in obtaining top-level clearances, including Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn, and the controversial former Trump White House national security aide Sebastian Gorka.” Democrats are already accusing Tulsi Gabbard of being a Russian asset, and you can bet the same shenanigans we saw last time will happen again if Trump and his team aren’t proactive to stop the politicization from becoming a roadblock for him and his administration.”

Credit where credit is due, but don’t think for a minute this had nothing to do with the election of Donald Trump. EXCERPT: “Israel is moving forward with a controversial ceasefire deal in Lebanon that reportedly has now inspired Hamas to express interest in coming back to the negotiation table with Israel for their own truce in the Gaza war.
Initially, Hezbollah and Hamas had sworn that neither would sign a truce or stop fighting unless hostilities ceased in both areas simultaneously. Hamas attacked Israel from Gaza on Oct. 7, killing 1,200 men, women, and children and taking 251 people hostage. Then, on Oct. 8, Hezbollah attacked Israel’s north, joining the conflict.
In November of 2023, Israel was successful in securing the release of 105 of the hostages, but Hamas refused to release the rest. Reports say the hostage exchange deal broke apart because Hamas denied the release of the last children, Ariel and Kfir Bibas, who were ages four years old and nine months old at the time of their abduction. Since then, Israel has attempted numerous negotiations with the terrorists and often agreed to almost all of their demands, only for Hamas to move the goalpost again.
Israel says it is significant that they were able to separate a deal with Hezbollah from a deal with Hamas, something that previously was not on the table.
The nature of the conflict in the North has been different since hostages were not involved, but nonetheless, Hezbollah has been bent on destroying Israel, and many Israelis have been displaced from their homes for months due to safety concerns. Netanyahu has been given unfair lines not to cross at almost every step of this war. After trying to do it “the world’s way” for a bit, Israel shifted gears and started doing what they knew needed to be done, and it has brought both Hezbollah and Hamas down to the point of significant defeat, even if the war isn’t over yet…..”

SALLY Q UPDATE – PART 2
We got the biopsy results today around 3pm – it’s ‘High Grade Serous Carcinoma’ most likely a recurrence from the ovarian cancer she had in 2017. She’s had 7 years without cancer. But the hysterectomy was followed by the onset of heart disease and a few years later with diabetes – both part of the Friedreich’s Ataxia syndrome. One of the coordinators of the parents support group did a search and she’s the only one who has had ovarian cancer and a recurrence.
The oncologist referred us to Hospice. The hospital social worker contacted Hospice for us. The hospital chaplain has visited with Sally at least twice. The Doctors and PAs have been very kind and helpful. I could not ask for a better more supportive team overall.
Please pray that she will see His Light and Goodness and will call upon Him and receive His true peace.
It’s a hard time, but The Lord is with me – I feel His grace and peace upholding me miraculously, taking away the fear and giving me strength – I so desperately want all that for Sally.
Thank you for your prayers – all through the years I’ve been sharing our struggles with Sally. It’s been 40 years since her diagnosis – a long hard road – but the Lord has given us roses along with the thorns.
