Today is Goldie Hawn’s birthday! She was born November 21, 1945 and has been in tons of movies. My favorite? Overboard! She co-stars with her long-time love Kurt Russell. I found an article on tvovermind.com that details 10 things we might not know about the movie.\
From tvovermind.com:
Forget all the glaring plot holes, that wasn’t the point of this movie. Overboard was all about showing the other half the simpler and in some cases downtrodden part of life that they didn’t realize was going on beyond their fancy lifestyles. Of course, it was also to show the supposedly downtrodden how to appreciate what they had and take care of it as well. As the wise butler in the film pointed out most people tend to go through life with blinders on, knowing just that one station to which they’ve been born. Yet when you take the blinders off and understand that life is in fact a great deal more than your own personal experience, then you have a choice to make. Do you embrace the wider world or stay put in your own little existence?
The movie showed that how you choose to live is not what defines you, it’s how you live with what you have.

10 Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn’s kids were always on set.
Their youngest actually took his first steps on set. It was no doubt comforting to have them there at all times.
9 Russell’s pickup truck was used later on in Christmas Vacation.
Recall the old, beat-up truck that was tailgating the Griswold’s on their way to get a Christmas tree. This is the same truck.
8 The members of the crew on the yacht kept falling asleep.
The rocking motion of the yacht would continually lull them to sleep, making filming a bit difficult.

7 Everything in the film was authentic.
A good example was the bowling alley. Nothing in there was touched, everything is just the way it looks in real life.
6 The Pee Wee Herman voice was improvised.
The character of Joe made this up on the fly since the Pee Wee bit wasn’t in the script at all.
5 The director allowed his actors to improvise a lot.

It’s hard to know just what was improvised and what wasn’t without being told since everything seems to flow so smoothly.
4 Hawn and Russell hosted a BBQ for the whole cast and crew.
You get the feeling that even if they weren’t all close there was a good deal of respect between the crew and cast members.
3 John Candy was considered for the role of Billy.

At the time that he was considered for the role John was filming Planes, Trains, and Automobiles with Steve Martin.
2 One of the kids was so rowdy on the set that the director had to step in frequently.
It would seem that the actor playing Joey wasn’t just acting a lot of the time, he was actually this rowdy. The director had to get after him quite a bit to calm him down.
1 Hector Elizondo has a cameo in the film.
Hector played in the film Necessary Roughness as the head coach, and he’s been seen most recently as Ed on Last Man Standing up until it was cancelled.
This had to be one of the funniest movies ever made and yet it’s got such a great life lesson too.

Good morning, Pat and Filly,
Looks like it’s going to hit the 30s on Friday and Saturday nights after all – giving us our first patchy frost of the season.
Today, I’ll unload the sewing machine and stuff, but using my beach cart to keep from numerous trips toting heavy stuff and hurting my bad foot. Then I’ll start to work making pads for the lift arms and other items needed now.
So far, so good with Sally Q’s moods. I’m praying that I can keep my cool and respond with GOD’s love – that she will know GOD and His Love, Peace and Joy in her heart before she dies. She’s is in remarkably good shape, despite being nearly 40 years post diagnosis with the disease. Her doctors have commented on this and complimented her and her Mom and Dad on her care. Her patient, kind, conscientious aide, Sabrina, also deserves credit for Sally’s good care.
Hope y’all have a good day and great weekend!!!

walmart was busy yesterday. I could tell the women were gathering everything for their Thanksgiving dinners. Carts were chock full of turkeys, and other foods. But the rest of the store was all CHRISTMAS.

“Bill O’Reilly Drops ‘Meteor Story,’ Leaves NewsNation Panel Speechless — This is a “holy smokes” reveal.”
The Vigilant Fox, Nov 20, 2024
“News veteran and conservative commentator Bill O’Reilly dropped a bombshell Wednesday night, offering jaw-dropping insights into what’s really going behind the scenes with the failing legacy media.
O’Reilly’s comments came after the world watched in disbelief as Trump critics Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, co-hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, met with President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago shortly after it was revealed that their show’s ratings were in the gutter. The couple faced backlash from both the left and the right, accused of chasing “success and social status” after previously labeling Trump a “racist” and comparing him to a Nazi.
However, O’Reilly claimed this wasn’t their idea—it was Comcast’s. According to O’Reilly, Comcast instructed Scarborough and his wife to “mend some fences” and “tamp down” the hateful rhetoric against Trump.
He explained that Comcast’s motivation was strategic: the media giant knows MSNBC is “vapor” or on the verge of collapse. He described this as a “huge meteor story,” saying Comcast is eager to toss the left-wing propaganda outlet “overboard” in an effort to save face for NBC.
Co-hosts Stephen A. Smith and Chris Cuomo were left speechless, listening to O’Reilly’s every word as he revealed, “They [Comcast] are not putting anything into MSNBC. They want to sell it… You can get MSNBC for nothing.”
“So they’re ‘uncoupling’— their word—Comcast, MSNBC from NBC News. That means MSNBC has no resources at all. None. They’re not going to be able to pay these people millions of dollars. Rachel Maddow, whatever she’s making. NBC News is saying, ‘We don’t want you around.’ Why? Because NBC News’s numbers, Lester Holt and the Today Show, are catastrophes because half the country equates NBC News with MSNBC, and they won’t watch. So NBC is desperately trying to save the mothership of information, and they have to throw MSNBC overboard,” O’Reilly explained.
“And you know what’s next?” O’Reilly asked. “The View,” he answered.
“ABC News is going to have to cut ties with The View. And you saw that today or yesterday when Sonny Hostin had to read a legal statement in the middle of a segment. The lawyers got in Whoopi Goldberg’s ear and said, ‘We’re bringing a statement in on a teleprompter.’ She reads it. So, it is over for these far-left networks. Done. Never coming back. Dracula’s stake in the heart.”

It’s about damned time someone investigated this POS!!!!
EXCERPT: “The Capitol Police officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt during the Jan. 6 riots and then was promoted has a lengthy internal affairs and disciplinary record that includes firearm-related incidents, a sweeping congressional investigation has found.
The issues in Captain Michael Byrd’s background included a failed shotgun qualification test, a failed FBI background check for a weapon’s purchase, a 33-day suspension for a lost weapon and referral to Maryland state prosecutors for firing his gun at a stolen car fleeing his neighborhood, according to congressional and police documents obtained by Just the News.
Byrd’s record was uncovered during a larger House Administration Oversight Subcommittee investigation into the Capitol Police disciplinary process and was chronicled in a letter Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., the panel’s chairman, sent Wednesday to the department’s chief, Thomas Manger, in which the lawmaker expressed concerns about the officer’s promotion to captain.
“This Subcommittee is dedicated to ensuring USCP has autonomy from political pressures so it can make operational and personnel decisions,” Loudermilk wrote in the letter. “However, based on the information obtained by the Subcommittee regarding USCP’s handling of Captain Byrd following January 6, 2021, and his significant disciplinary history, I have concerns about USCP’s decision to promote him to the rank of Captain.”
You can read the letter below: List of incidents:

The incidents described in Loudermilk’s letter are corroborated by congressional records and police reports that date as early as 2004 including:
Mark Schamel, the lawyer representing Byrd, did not respond several requests for comment. The U.S. Capitol Police also did not return several inquiries from Just the News….”

EXCERPT: “Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna on Wednesday slammed House Speaker Mike Johnson on social media for not supporting her legislation that would allow new moms in Congress to vote by proxy.
The Republican lawmaker introduced a resolution with Democratic California Rep. Sara Jacobs in January that would allow congresswomen to vote by proxy for up to six weeks after giving birth. The proposal would require the House to amend its rules.
Luna said she has been making her case for the bill to the speaker for months now, and on Wednesday was told that he would not be supporting the bill or letting her bring the legislation to a floor vote.
“My proposal of allowing women in congress to vote after birth (in line with the constitution) was what I was asking to be allowed to come to the floor for a vote by the ENTIRE 119th Congress,” she posted in a thread on X. “Today, after speaking with [Johnson] about this for months, I was told he will not support allowing female members to vote if they give birth….”

Just The News: “A parole board in South Carolina on Wednesday unanimously rejected Susan Smith’s first parole petition, 30 years after she was convicted of killing her two sons.
Smith, who is now 53, was sentenced to life in prison for killing her sons in 1994, after she falsely claimed that a black male carjacker had kidnapped her sons. Smith later admitted that she let her car roll into a lake, while 3-year-old Michael, and 14-month-old Alex were strapped into their car seats, the Associated Press reported.
Smith apologized for her actions in a video to the board on Wednesday, and asked the board for mercy, claiming that God had already forgiven her.
“I know what I did was horrible,” Smith said. “And I would give anything if I could go back and change it.”
The board did not issue a statement on the vote, but it comes after family members of the boys, including Smith’s ex-husband and the boys’ father David Smith, urged the board to reject the petition. Law enforcement officers, and prosecutors also asked the board to deny the request.
“She changed my life for the rest of my life that night,” David Smith said. “I’m asking that you please, deny her parole today, and hopefully in the future, but specifically today.”
Susan Smith will be eligible for parole again in two years, and every two years after that. David Smith said he plans to attend each of the parole hearings.”

Just The News: “Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., predicted that GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis would choose Republican National Convention co-chairwoman Lara Trump to replace Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.
“I think Lara Trump is the right person to replace him,” Scott said, according to The Hill. “He’s going to be hard to replace. I met her back when she worked at E Network and she is a hard worker. She is committed.”
DeSantis has to replace Rubio since President-elect Donald Trump tapped the Florida senator to be Secretary of State. Scott predicted DeSantis would select Trump due to her role in helping Republicans win the House, Senate, and presidency.
“It’s an important decision, and I think he’s going to pick Lara Trump because he knows she is clearly qualified,” Scott stated. “She is somebody that would be well received in the state of Florida and somebody that could win the election when she has to run in two years,” he added.”

I support this 100% – NO RELIGION IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS – ANY religion!!!
Just The News: “The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday rejected Louisiana’s request to lift a hold on its Ten Commandments law, after a lower court ruled last week that the mandate was unconstitutional.
Louisiana in June became the first state to pass a law that would require public schools to display the Ten Commandments in “large, easily readable font” in every classroom. Supporters of the law have pointed to the text’s influence on United States history as a reason to allow the law, but opponents claimed it infringes on the First Amendment and parents’ control in the religious upbringing of their children.
The court did not give a reason for its rejection, but U.S. District Judge John deGravelles wrote in his ruling last week that the law was not “neutral” toward religion as supporters tried to argue, and agreed parental rights would be infringed if the law took effect.
“Since the law is not neutral, it easily fails strict scrutiny analysis,” deGravelles wrote, per The Hill. “Even assuming AG Defendants had established a compelling interest (e.g., for education or history), there are any number of ways that they could advance an alleged interest in educating students about the Ten Commandments that would be less burdensome on the First Amendment than the one required by H.B. 71.”
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill is still attempting to appeal the lower court’s decision to block the law, but the rejection means that the state is not likely to post the Ten Commandments in public schools by January 1.”

I have no doubt a majority of Americans agree with me, as this man does:
EXCERPT: “….Ibarra will join thousands of other noncitizens in our federal prisons. The Government Accountability Office estimated noncitizens accounted for 15 percent of the federal prison population in 2022. The U.S. Sentencing Commission reported that 21,504 noncitizens were sentenced in the federal system in fiscal year 2023, representing a third of “all individuals sentenced in fiscal year 2023.” Of those 21,504 noncitizens, 88.4 percent were illegal aliens and more than half had prior criminal history.
Ibarra shouldn’t languish in an American prison, and his association with the Tren de Aragua gang as well as Venezuela’s well-known corruption makes sending him back there to serve his sentence a dubious proposition at best. Therefore, the death penalty represents the most practical way to dispense justice on this monster.
But it’s not just about practicality and saving money: It’s also about our honor as a nation. We must prove that we value the safety of our citizens over the supposed plight of violent alien criminals. We must show that American justice will bring swift retribution to those who prey upon our citizens. And we must recognize that some crimes are so heinous and so harmful to the maintenance of a civilized society that death is the most appropriate sentence.”

“Why Our Constitution Secures Liberty, Not Democracy”
RedState Guest Editorial | 6:30 AM on November 21, 2024
“In his newly released book, No Democracy Lasts Forever, University of California law school dean Erwin Chemerinsky provides the latest in a series of unfortunate attacks on the United States Constitution.
Despite his academic accomplishments, Chemerinsky has put forward a thesis that is fatally flawed. While he asserts our Constitution fails to deliver democracy to the masses, this was never its purpose. Our Constitution provides a legal platform for a balanced and ordered liberty, not a majoritarian democracy. It was written to form a federal government, balance power among its branches, protect the smaller states from the larger states, and secure the individual rights of those governed.
While our Constitutional government includes democratic elements, democracy is not its goal. The drafters of the Constitution understood that unfettered democracy jeopardizes individual freedoms. While the collective values democracy, the individual prospers through liberty. Pure democracy empowers the masses to exercise their passions of the moment. A lynch mob is pure democracy set in motion.
In a column supporting his flawed thesis, Chemerinsky claims it’s absurd to rely on a document written for a small country in the 18th century to govern a large wealthy nation in the 21st. This flippant dismissal reveals his fundamental misunderstanding of the nature of the Constitution and those who wrote it. Unlike the scholars of today who reject the past, even while embracing academic fads such as the 1619 Project, the scholars of the late 18th century immersed themselves in the depth and breadth of what the history of Western Civilization can teach us. They built our Constitution on the foundation of this amassed wisdom.
Appreciating the gravity and responsibility of their opportunity to build a Constitutional republic and forge a new course for human history based on self-governance, the learned framers of our Constitution sought the best way to manage the affairs of human beings created by an unchanging God. So, they crafted a timeless Law of the Land that would serve those governed and withstand the ever-fluctuating course of current events. They understood that pure democracy could be just as dangerous in exercising the whims of a tyrannical majority as when following the dictates of a single tyrant.
With but a few amendments along the way, our fundamentally unchanged Constitution has served our country extraordinarily well for nearly 250 years. Under it, individual freedoms have expanded. Women vote, slavery was abolished, and civil rights are locked into law. Our country’s arc of history has undeniably bent towards justice for all. This speaks to the wisdom of the framers.
Chemerinsky cites contemporary disapproval as a reason to reject our Constitution, a sophistic argument that speaks only to his misguided infatuation with democracy. Even a cursory review shows public discontent with our Constitutional form of government has been cultivated not only in the halls of academia but by the popular press. For example, how many media-driven public opinion polls have we been subjected to showing public opinion is at odds with the Supreme Court, surveys which ignore the basic truth that it’s the Court’s job to consult the Constitution, and not public opinion when handing down rulings. Such sophistry writ large should not be taken by the rational as a rationale for dangerous change.
Chemerinsky also submits the Electoral College as damning evidence to indict our Constitutional republic. He argues that the Electoral College should be abolished because it denies the Presidency to the popular vote. This ignores the reality that a popular vote would effectively hand over the Presidency to a small confederacy of densely populated states, exactly the outcome the Founders sought to prevent. To this day, despite huge changes and population shifts, the Electoral College still assures the Presidency reflects a balanced representation overall. The Constitution’s enduring accommodation is a testament to the Founders’ wisdom, not an argument for its cancelation.
And who would we enlist to rewrite our Constitution? Who among us does Chemerinsky imagine could draft a constitution that would continue to secure and expand our personal freedoms for the next 250 years?
Our Constitution protects the rights of all, while our popular passions play out in courtrooms, the legislative halls, and on the streets. It guarantees our freedom of expression, including expressing the idea that the very document which guarantees such freedom is obsolete. But this guarantee should not be mistaken as a reason to endorse such notions but to enjoy the equally protected right to robustly debate them.
Liberty will never be an antiquated value, no matter how much our nation’s wealth and population grow. To abandon our Constitution is to abandon our liberty. After all, no American is famous for declaring “Give me democracy or give me death!”

I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition. There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General. Trump’s DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1. I remain fully committed to see that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history. “Peanut and Puppycide—The punishment for the non-compliant”
Robert W Malone MD, MS, Nov 21, 2024
EXCERPT: “When the CovidCrisis was at its peak, and I was being subjected to daily attacks by the legacy media and the left, one of our biggest fears was that we would get “swatted.” Who remembers “swatting?”
Jill wasn’t worried so much about us – but about the dogs…
See, we live on a farm in a fairly rural area. Our dogs consider themselves both the greeters and the guardians of the farm. They take this job very seriously. Our gate is kept shut these days, but upon entry, three very loud and boisterous Australian shepherds will circle any car – barking, chasing each other in a rough and tumble way and generally, showing off. There is a lot of barking, some snarling (at each other), a bit of bravado, much excitement, and always the thrill of meeting new people. It can be a bit overwhelming for those who haven’t visited before…
However, if someone comes onto the farm when the dogs are in the house, the dogs go crazy with excitement. As we have exterior glass doors, visitors who walk up to the house will be seen immediately. Then they will encounter three snarling, ferocious-sounding dogs- who appear as if they are going to run right through the glass door that seems to separate friend from foe. These dogs, particularly our male, will literally posture like they want to kill. With a voice command, they back right off and are friendly – but their job is to protect.
If we had been swatted, I am sure that all three dogs would have been fired upon before the swat team ever even entered the house. About the fourth time Steve Bannon was swatted, we were so worried about this happening to us that we actually phoned our local sheriff’s department during Covid to explain the situation.
Why was this a concern? Would the police actually kill our dogs, if we were swatted? The short answer is yes. We know this… because it happens all the time. The essay and analysis below by Robert Blumen explains…”

“Why Did the Deep State Concede So Quickly? Was It to Protect a Fraudulent Election System?”
Erik Carlson, Nov 21, 2024
EXCERPTS: “Many people within the MAGA, Anon, truther community had differing opinions on how the 2024 Election would play out. Some thought it would be a landslide victory for Trump with Harris conceding on Election Night. Some thought it would take days and even weeks for the election to be settled before Trump would be announced the President Elect. Others believed somehow, someway, the election would be stolen, and Kamala Harris would become the 47th POTUS.
Even those who believed a landslide victory would result in an Election Night concession by Harris feel as though it happened too easily. The Deep State gave up too easy. They must have something up their sleeve.
Are they going underground for four years? Do they have something planned for a future date? Do they plan to block Trump from being inaugurated? What are they planning?
Within hours of Trump being announced the winner, the question began to be asked, did the Deep State realize they couldn’t convince the American public that Harris won, so they transitioned to stealing down-ballot seats in the Senate and Congress instead, as a kind of concession? Or did they try to steal it for Kamala, but it was just too big to rig?
Allowing Trump to become POTUS puts the Deep State at huge risk, and not just risk, but a guarantee that the Deep State will be greatly wounded, if not mortally. Why would they concede to Trump becoming POTUS, unless stealing the election would do more damage to their long-term control, to their existence?
We all remember the Covid narrative. Some never went along with it at all. No vaccinations, no fear, some even refused to abide by the mandates of wearing a mask in public places. Some didn’t believe in the narrative, but played along where they felt they had to. They wore a mask at Costco, and not feeling good about it, maybe even got the jab to keep their job or in some cases their career. While some tried to avoid the vaccine at all costs, others were counting down the days until they could get vaccinated voluntarily, waiting in long lines to do so, demonizing those who chose not to take the experimental drug….”
“…..If those in command knew that it was all fake, what, then, was their purpose? Francis identified punishment of the non-compliant as the real purpose of the tyranny component. His list of the targeted elements of society begins with “people who do not like to pay taxes, wear seat belts, or deliver their children to the mind-bending therapists who run the public schools.” The obvious additions are those who will not wear masks, stay at home, or accept untested vaccinations, and those with pet squirrels….”
“…..Nearly all pet owners consider pets to be family members. While the stated goal of pet execution is to avoid harm to the SWAT team members, discharging a firearm in the direction of a family pet is intended to terrorize the owner. The defenders of dogs did not realize that we are the target and the animals are our proxies.
As our governance systems have increasingly become divorced from public oversight, transparency, and democratic controls, they are losing. Not only have the organized political structure forms (elected and administrative) been corrupted. Former parts of civil society such as the media and health have become governmentalities.
These institutions have all burned their trust capital by constantly lying. They are now facing trust bankruptcy and the associated restructuring. Cooperation which was formerly voluntary out of pro-social inclinations toward harmony and being a good neighbor is no longer earned. Compliance, which must be forced, replaces cooperation. When compliance is resisted, the resistance becomes the target.”

Cow farts are destroying the environment? This is where french fries and potato chips come from. Bill Gates owns 10,500 acre 100 Circle Farms, a farm just like this one, that provides french fries for McDonald’s. This is not an ecosystem.

NF: IMO, Putin will hold off – he will wait for Trump.
“NATO Cannot Intercept Russia’s New Nuclear Missiles”
Clandestine, Nov 21, 2024
“By the looks of it, Putin whipped out a new Russian ICBM that NATO defense systems cannot intercept, but did NOT attach nuclear payloads to them.
Essentially, Putin just showed the West that he has the ability to destroy them if they keep provoking him.
It was a warning. Putin just exercised extreme restraint, while also showing Ukraine/NATO that they are outgunned.
This should be front page news on every outlet, but for some reason, it’s not. Perhaps it’s because this situation does not fit their narrative that Putin is this Hitler-esque loose-cannon who wants to conquer the world.
Putin is showing restraint. He wants diplomacy, not nuclear war. But the West continues to poke the bear. We cannot wait until January 20th. We need Trump in office right now.”

judge rules Weissman on line statement is potentially defamatory. (pertains to Cassidy Hutchinson’s first lawyer (WH attorney Stefan Passantino)
A federal court in Washington, D.C., ruled an online claim made by a legal analyst at MSNBC against a former White House attorney in the Trump administration is potentially defamatory.
In September, U.S. District Court Judge Loren AliKhan denied a motion from MSNBC legal analyst and attorney Andrew Weissmann to dismiss a complaint filed by Stefan Passantino, who represented former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson before she became the Jan. 6 Committee’s star witness.
Passantino had previously served as head deputy ethics counsel in the Trump White House and was Hutchinson’s attorney when she was initially questioned by the House Democrats’ Soviet-style inquisition run by then-Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney. Hutchinson fired Passantino, who was being paid by the Save America PAC, when she decided to change her testimony before the House committee and make a series of outlandish claims immediately discredited by her own named sources.
Passantino sued Weissmann last year after the former deputy to Special Counsel Robert Mueller claimed the Trump-world attorney “coached her to lie.”
“This is an insidious lie,” Passantino’s lawsuit reads. “Ms. Hutchinson even testified, under penalty of law: ‘I want to make this clear to you: Stefan [Passantino] never told me to lie. … He told me not to lie.”
Hutchinson’s testimony can be found on page 42 of the publicly available transcript from her Sept. 14, 2022, interview with the Jan. 6 Committee. Passantino, instead, coached her as a standard fact witness to only answer questions she could recall. Passantino represented Hutchinson through her first three interviews with the committee before she changed counsel and appeared publicly. None of the transcripts dated Feb. 23, 2022, March 7, 2022, or May 17, 2022, show Passantino obstructing Hutchinson’s testimony. While the transcripts were also recorded, the Jan. 6 Committee destroyed the video.
Weissmann, however, charged Passantino with “coach[ing] her to lie” in a post to roughly 320,000 followers on X after CNN published a series of hit pieces that accused Passantino of pressuring Hutchinson to illegally manipulate her testimony.
On Dec. 21, 2022, CNN ran the first hit piece, which cited “sources familiar with the committee’s work” who alleged Passantino urged Hutchinson to mislead lawmakers. The network included a statement from Passantino, but made no reference to the transcript of Hutchinson’s Sept. 14 interview, in which she explicitly said he told her “not to lie.”
CNN ran another story on Dec. 22, 2022, this one headlined “Cassidy Hutchinson told the January 6 committee she felt pressure from Trump allies not to talk and instead risk ‘contempt.’”
“The final straw for former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson with her first attorney, paid through allies of former President Donald Trump, came when he told her to stop cooperating with the January 6 House select committee even if she risked a contempt of Congress charge, transcripts of her interviews and sources familiar with her testimony tell CNN,” the network reported.
The second story did link to Hutchinson’s nearly 140-page Sept. 14, 2022, transcript, which was embedded on the network’s website, and reported on her testimony that she was explicitly coached “not to lie” halfway through the story.
A recent report from House Republicans investigating the Jan. 6 Committee in October found that Hutchinson was communicating directly with Cheney without Passantino’s knowledge throughout his representation of her.
Three months after CNN’s stories were published and six months before Weissmann’s potentially defamatory post on X, the New York Times reported on “several dozen prominent legal figures, including past presidents of the American Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar,” trying to revoke Passantino’s law license.
“In a 22-page complaint filed on Monday with D.C.’s Board on Professional Responsibility, prominent lawyers accused Mr. Passantino of the crimes of subornation of perjury, obstruction of justice, witness tampering and bribery,” the Times reported.
Passantino became the target of another bar complaint, this one brought in Georgia by a group called the “65 Project,” which was expressly established to intimidate attorneys into not working for Republicans. Both the State Bar of Georgia and D.C. ethics watchdogs dismissed the complaints against Passantino by the end of March.
In October, Passantino filed bar complaints of his own against Cheney and the director of the 65 Project through America First Legal.

I greatly appreciate the recent efforts of Matt Gaetz in seeking approval to be Attorney General. He was doing very well but, at the same time, did not want to be a distraction for the Administration, for which he has much respect. Matt has a wonderful future, and I look forward to watching all of the great things he will do!

Ah-ha! Gaetz to replace Rubio?
From Newsweek, 11/12: “President-elect Donald Trump is expected to name Marco Rubio as secretary of state, which would create a Senate vacancy for Florida.
In Florida, the governor appoints an interim replacement for vacant U.S. Senate seats, giving Ron DeSantis the authority to choose Rubio’s successor if the nomination proceeds.
Newsweek has contacted DeSantis’ office via email for comment.
The interim appointee serves until a special election is held, which is typically scheduled to coincide with the next general election if it’s not already in the near future…..”

yup…first step taken…Rubio is the nominee.
lots of speculation who he will appoint–could be himself…his term as governor is over soon and he can’t run again. could be his wife…

Red State: “In what could be seen as a historic moment in modern American political history, Senate Democrats have gifted Donald Trump four circuit court seats in exchange for expediting 11 district court vacancies. The deal was brought about by Senate Republicans stalling confirmation hearings so effectively that the Democrat leadership cried, “Uncle.”
The last-minute push to confirm judges before the change of administrations has been the subject of controversy. Even though the GOP had been very successful in fighting a delaying action, they were not sure how long they could keep it up. By the same token, the Democrats didn’t want to end the session with a large number of pending nominations. On the GOP side, putting together a block of 50 votes was becoming a challenge as JD Vance and Marco Rubio were consumed in preparing for new positions in the Trump administration.
Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Eric Schmitt (R-Missouri) brokered the deal on the Republican side. Arizona Independent Kyrsten Sinema represented the Democrats.
The four appeals court nominations that will expire with the new Congress are Ryan Park, of North Carolina, for the 4th Circuit; Julia Lipez, of Maine, for the 1st Circuit; Karla Campbell, of Tennessee, for the 6th Circuit; and Adeel Mangi, of New Jersey, for the 3rd Circuit.
Some of these nominations, like that of Ryan Park, seemed to be dead already:
President Trump will fill these positions. The positive thing about this interaction was that both sides were able to act like adults. While the Democrats got 11 district court judges, the Republicans arguably got the better deal with four circuit court picks.”

“Pennsylvania Supreme Court Crushes Local Gun Control Laws
Red State, By Jeff Charles | 3:39 PM on November 21, 2024
“Score another victory for gun rights! The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled against a legal challenge against the state’s firearm preemption laws that prohibit local governments from further infringing on the right to keep and bear arms.
Currently, Pennsylvania’s preemption laws prohibit local governments from passing gun control measures that go further than firearms restrictions passed at the state level. The ruling means that there will be uniformity when it comes to gun control laws, which means it is less likely that an individual might find themselves in legal jeopardy due to confusion about local restrictions on firearms.
The ruling comes after an appeals court dismissed the original challenge against the law. “The General Assembly’s authority over municipalities is supreme…municipalities may do only those things which the legislature has expressly or by necessary implication permitted,” Justice Kevin Brobson wrote in his opinion.
The court argued that the state constitution “does not provide that the right to bear arms shall not be questioned in some parts of the Commonwealth but abridged at will in others” and that “Regulation of firearms is a matter of statewide concern.”
The court acknowledged the argument that allowing local regulations tailored for each community could address unique public safety challenges in urban areas. But the court decided that “The need for uniformity in gun regulation outweighs the local interests in enacting laws specific to their communities.”
The appellants argued that preemption laws created a state-sponsored danger by making it harder for local governments to combat violent crime. However, the court countered this argument, noting that “Preemption laws do not mandate or encourage gun violence.”
The original lawsuit was filed in 2020 by multiple city governments.
While I’m sure I would disagree with the majority of Pennsylvania’s gun laws, this was the right ruling. Normally I prefer that state government leaves local governments alone to pass their own measures. But when it comes to a natural right that is protected by the Constitution, it is appropriate for higher levels of government to intervene – as long as they are protecting these rights. This means fewer people will face unconstitutional gun charges simply for possessing the means to defend themselves.
The argument that Pennsylvania’s preemption laws would somehow promote gun violence is curious as well. It seems to me that making it harder for law-abiding citizens to purchase and carry firearms would only encourage violent criminals who do not respect the law to victimize the public. Unfortunately, this logic escapes anti-gunners who believe the citizenry should rely solely on the government to protect their lives and property.”
