Weird Wednesdays: The Chameleon House at Lake Michigan

This house can “change” appearances–The Chameleon House!

Anderson Architecture completed this home in 2006 atop a hill overlooking a cherry orchard and Lake Michigan. The striking structure took less than eight weeks to build thanks to the use of prefabricated materials. The steel frame of this house is wrapped in corrugated, translucent acrylic slats, allowing it to take on and reflect the changing colors of the landscape, like a chameleon blending into its habitat. Because it sits on a steep hill, the entrance of the home leads to the third floor, letting residents descend to the bedrooms or walk up to the living area.

From sah-archipedia.org:

Creativity in designing with twenty-first-century materials at a relatively low cost marks the Brondyk vacation house. The Brondyks needed a tall house for a small site, one that would afford a spectacular rooftop view spanning the surrounding farmland west to Lake Michigan, and one that would fit their modest budget. Anderson Anderson Architecture’s designs for original, finely crafted modern homes in the Pacific Northwest found in architectural publications attracted their attention. (The Chameleon House would appear in 100 More of the World’s Best Houses [2005].)

A steel-beamed frame supports the eighteen-hundred-square-foot building. Prefabricated sandwich insulation panel (SIP) walls rise nine stories in the towerlike house, covering the roof as well as the walls. The walls extend above the roof forming a railing for the open deck. Galvanized corrugated sheet metal resembling barn roofing clads the walls. Projecting two feet from the walls are aluminum frames that anchor recycled translucent polyethylene slats and serve as window-washing platforms and emergency exit structures. The panels reflect the light and seem to mimic the surroundings of the house, precipitating the choice of “Chameleon House” as the nickname for the dwelling.

The interior is arranged vertically and each level consists of one room; the rooms are linked by stairs and stair landings. Industrial tread and railings make up the stairs. A double-height window faces Lake Michigan in the common living spaces. Four-foot-wide maple-clad plywood panels are applied directly to the oriented strand board (OSB).

Some see the house as adventuresome and progressive, others as an intrusion on the pristine farmland and forests along the Leelanau Scenic Heritage Route that preservationists are trying to protect. The latter would have preferred that the house had been sited out of sight.

There are few shots of the home’s interior because it is a private home.

  1. Morning All
admittedly, I do not understand the working and construction of the Chameleon House, but i thought it was interesting.
The moon woke me up earlier shining in the bedroom window like a sun, but now i only see stars. yesterday we had…GASP…snow flurries!!

    1. Good morning, Pat! Yeah, the weather report here yesterday mentioned snow, too. More rain thru the night and still this morning but at least the temp is at 46. Wheezer has been sleeping somewhere else lately but within 5-10 minutes after I turn on the patio light, he shows up – kinda damp this morning but not soaked. He didn’t eat quite all the food yesterday so I left it out for a while – after 1/2 hour, I saw the long haired gray tabby cleaning it up. So no more leaving it out – when he shows up, I’ll take food out to him.

      Some really interesting appointments happening….

        1. Well, since the temps have dropped, I don’t spend any time out on the patio and he’s taken to sleeping elsewhere these days. It’s more like he tolerates the petting at this point – he really just wants the food.

On Wednesday, November 13th at 11 am Virginia House Privileges and Elections Committee has a hearing in Richmond, House Room C, Room 206, in the General Assembly Building, 201 N. 9th Street.

This committee is proposing to amend Virginia’s Constitution outside of legislative procedure to enshrine an unlimited right to abortion at every stage of pregnancy.

They are also proposing to amend Virginia’s Constitution outside of legislative procedure to change “qualifications of voters.”

It’s not apparent (purposefully) what voter qualifications they want to amend, but I think we can guess what they are with the recent Supreme Court decision that VA won.

Not one of our representatives are putting this out. All they do is attend events and post on social media for holidays. It’s infuriating.

Try to be there if you can.

They are trying to implement this without public knowledge or comment, and they will if we let them.

Spread the word folks, because our “Republican” representatives won’t.

  3. “How Trump can restore American justice in just days — Here’s a quick look at what Trump should do.”

    Lee Williams, Nov 13, 2024

President-elect Donald J. Trump. (Photo from licensed Shutterstock account.)

“Some Democrats still working at FBI, CIA, DOJ, NSA and other powerful federal agencies cannot be pleased that Donald J. Trump was reelected president. These are all behind-the-scenes players, who are not sharp enough to be known for their politics. They’re likely thinking about how they can impact or even subvert whatever orders are going to come from their new Republican leadership. In my humble opinion, they should resign — immediately — or face massive losses.

Trump is coming. It won’t be pretty for anyone who stands in his way or tries to thwart his plans. Here’s a quick look at what he should do:

More than 1,100 Americans from all 50 states have been charged with federal crimes related to the January 6, 2021, uprising at the U.S. Capitol. More than 650 have already pleaded guilty. Seven individuals took off and cannot be located. They will face charges if caught.

Every single one of the Jan. 6 defendants should receive a pardon. Any still in custody should be let go. The January Sixers need some restorative justice. Those who were responsible have paid more than enough. It is time to close this segment of American history and move on.

The only possible Jan. 6 defendant left in the country is Liz Cheney, who allegedly destroyed some serious evidence that came before her while she was a member of the Jan. 6 board. This should be investigated promptly, and if true Cheney should be thrown in prison.

Also, anyone who is currently working to send Ukraine billions of dollars before Trump is sworn in deserves a cell next to Liz, too.

New York Attorney General Letitia James needs to better understand the Supremacy Clause, which puts any potential state charges against a sitting president on hold until he leaves the White House. Trump’s will be 83 when he leaves office. James is nothing but a typical politician anyway. She’s got nothing, anyway. James was a member of the New York City Council from 2004 to 2013, and before that served five years as the New York City Public Advocate. No one is going to take her poorly veiled threats seriously.

    Guns and ammo

Every gun store in the country should start ordering more guns, ammunition and accessories and selling them as fast as they can. They should hire more staff; maintain a sufficient inventory and make sure they have trainers who can teach first-time gun owners’ safety, in addition to how to operate their new firearms.

Owning a firearm should never be treated like a crime. Unfortunately, it is in at least 20 states. This needs to stop immediately. Americans have had enough of state firearm laws that are not even constitutional, which treat gun ownership as though it’s something criminal in nature.

Many blue states do not even allow a legal gun owner to store a loaded firearm. It’s actually hard to believe, especially for those of us who live in free states.

The ATF has not offered any help on this. In fact, they are the ones who want a confused customer base. The ATF wants us to believe they’re the firearms authority, even though they can’t disassemble a Glock or answer simple questions. This too has to stop.

Firearm manufacturer Brandon Herrera has announced he wants to be named ATF Director.

“The ATF hasn’t had a director that actually understood the firearms industry or been a part of the community it’s responsible for regulating since its founding. We have the power to change that,” Herrera said in a Tweet.

“If I were to be considered for Director of the ATF, in my first 100 days I have a plan to hack, slash, and cripple that agency in ways it could never recover from. And when I’m done, I will ask President Trump to disband the agency entirely,” he said in another.

ATF’s current director Steve Dettelbach showcased his complete firearm ignorance in March on CBS’ Face the Nation. Dettelbach was also the first ATF director to say how harmful “assault weapons” were to his mission. He wasn’t able to define an assault weapon, however, telling lawmakers he was “not a firearms expert.”

Perhaps Herrera is right. Perhaps it’s time for Dettelbach and the ATF to just go.”

  6. Just The News: “A New York judge on Tuesday declined to postpone Steve Bannon’s fraud trial next month related to his alleged efforts to defraud supporters of President-elect Donald Trump who donated to a campaign to raise funds for a border wall during his first administration.

The trial is currently scheduled for Dec. 9, and centers around allegations that he intentionally lied to Trump supporters who donated to the online campaign that sought money for building additional miles of wall along the U.S. southern border. Bannon has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Judge April Newbauer initially indicated that the trial could begin later after a hearing on Monday revealed additional information from the prosecution. However, prosecutors said the new evidence would not add any extra time to the trial, and Newbauer declined to immediately delay the trial until January.

“We don’t see it having any impact on the length of the trial from the people’s perspective,” assistant Manhattan district attorney Jeffrey Levinson said, ABC News reported. “The notion that this is a shock or a surprise I think is misplaced.”

Prosecutors are expected to argue that Bannon intended to directly benefit from the “We Build the Wall” campaign. But defense attorneys argued the money that Bannon allegedly gave to himself and his ally were legal reimbursements.

Defense attorneys said they would now need more time to call on witnesses in order to rebut the new evidence. “We may now need to offer testimony and/or evidence countering the assertion that Mr. Bannon was motivated by personal profit,” defense attorney John Carman said.

The ruling comes just weeks after Bannon was released from four-month prison sentence in Connecticut related to two contempt of Congress convictions, because of his refusal to comply with a congressional subpoena.”

  7. Just The News: “Former Trump National Security Advisor Michael Flynn predicted that not all 17 of the offices that make up the intelligence community will be present in two years.

“I can’t imagine that two years from now we’re going to continue to have the 17 Intel agencies,” Flynn, a retired Army lieutenant general, said Monday on the “John Solomon Reports” podcast. “I just cannot see that if we’re going to move this country forward in a way that needs to be moved forward where we’re sort of that shining city on the hill.”

There are 17 offices that make up the intelligence community, including the Central Intelligence Agency and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Flynn argued there’s been too much overlap and overspending of taxpayer dollars on them. “There’s so much waste in the intelligence community … and overlapping ineffective and inefficient communication systems,” he said. Flynn also said intelligence agencies such as the CIA have strayed from their mission of protecting the American people.

Over the past four years, many conservatives have raised concerns about the politicization of federal agencies and going after Americans for political beliefs.

Last year, Flynn sued the federal government for what he referred to as Washington’s “wrongful and malicious” prosecution of him. His complaint stemmed from the Department of Justice’s prosecution of him over a 2017 interview with the FBI where he was accused of improperly communicating with Russia. He was eventually pardoned after the DOJ dismissed the charges against him.

“I don’t believe nor do I agree that we should have all of these organizations still existing with the giant budgets that they have,” he said. “We have to ask ourselves, ‘what do we get out of these organizations? What do we get out of them?’ Frankly, what we’ve gotten out of them is a lot of heartache.”

He said that the agencies have brought nothing but wars and failures.”

  8. I agree with this – religion needs to be kept out of our public schools – ALL religion! Private and/or religious schools – have at it!

Just The News: “A federal judge on Tuesday ruled that a Louisiana law requiring the Ten Commandments displayed in schools is unconstitutional.

“We strongly disagree with the court’s decision and will immediately appeal, as H.B. 71’s implementation deadline is approaching on January 1, 2025,” said Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill in a statement reacting to the ruling.

Following the ruling from U.S. District Court Judge John deGravelles in the Middle District of Louisiana, public K-12 schools and colleges in the state won’t be required to display the Ten Commandments in each classroom by Jan. 1.

Republican Gov. Jeff Landry signed the law requiring the display of the religious text in June.”

Our Take: I hope you’re enjoying Trump’s ‘appointments’ story arc, because the mad lad is having a lot of fun with it, while continuing the underlying thread to the Deep State that they’re absolutely fucked.

“No leaks” is one of the most oft-repeated comms throughout the Q drops, and while there are some specific situational allusions and context around most of the references, I also believe, like many comms, these could be taken bicamerally:

Trump’s team DOES NOT LEAK … until they do, and WHEN they do, they know exactly what they’re doing.

So, when you’re seeing some absolute tapwater goblins being ‘tapped’ for various positions in Trump 2.0, possibilities run the gamut from the Scaramucci model to false leaks designed to simultaneously flush out rats while also flustering and humiliating the media in the midst of its death spiral.

And yet, the signal remains strong, as Trump’s appointments of Ratcliffe, Waltz, Homan, Miller and Wiles have all the right butts puckering. Enjoy the show. — Burning Bright

Our Take: First, an announcement. Culture of Change will be exclusively dedicated to covering the D.O.G.E. from here on out. This is being set up, essentially, as a 17+ month project to streamline and modernize government, and it has a stated end date: July 4, 2026.

As Paul Fleuret and I discussed on Sunday’s Culture of Change, if this effort is to be successful, the doge is going to have to move fast and break things. This announcement all but states that they plan to do exactly that.

There are so many questions. What role will globalist consultancies play? How transparent will this transformation be? What barriers will our opponents — not just the deep state within the bureaucracy, but the entrenched global corporate interests — erect to halt progress?

  12. https://www.axios.com/2024/11/12/trump-mass-deportation-venezuela-nicolas-maduro

Our Take: So Trump needs Maduro’s cooperation in order to complete the planned mass deportation operation? Interesting.

The article notes that the tough talk from Trump against Maduro—in the form of sanctions and other pressures—may lead to negotiations, though I suspect that Trump and Maduro already have some sort of relationship, even if it is conducted exclusively through back-channels.

We’ve reported before on the 2022 Guilty Plea by Glencore to Foreign Bribery and Market Manipulation Schemes, which included $1.2 million paid to a Venezuelan oil official. While the DOJ press release doesn’t cite the official by name, it is very likely that the official in question is Francisco “Squito” Morillo, who was highlighted in a 2023 Bloomberg article that explains that Morillo’s scorned ex-wife delivered his laptop to Maduro in March 2017, which contained all the evidence of his corruption, and that laptop was used by Maduro’s lawyers to file civil action lawsuits in US court.

Clearly this lawfare led to a number of prosecutions of officials from Glencore and its two competitors, all of which were engaged in bribing officials from countries all over the world, including the Democratic Republic of Congo—where Israeli oligarch Dan Gertler had exclusive mining rights that were stripped from him by President Trump using Executive Order 13818.

Speaking of mining rights, last week it was announced that “Russia and Venezuela have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of geology and subsoil use on solid minerals for 2024-2026, a Sputnik correspondent reported. The document was signed during a meeting between Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who was on a working visit to Caracas, and President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro.”

Our Take: It was always going to be this way. Narrative cannot outrun data forever, and data announced the death of conglomerate media a long time ago.

Truth, accuracy, authenticity… These are the metrics that matter for most Americans when deciding where to get their news; but legacy media outlets have deprioritized all of these in favor of narrative deployments. In favor of lies.

That the legacy media was painfully and negligently wrong about critical public stories is indisputable in the wake of November 5. That kind of public realization should and, it appears, will drive reckoning within the industry.

  15. https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/20/politics/department-of-education-shut-down-trump/index.html

Our Take: CNN is wailing and gnashing their teeth at the impending elimination of the federal Department of Education, but they accidentally make the case for just that.

Consider that “some of the Department of Education’s biggest jobs are to administer federal funding…” in line with “…the department’s congressionally declared purpose of ensuring access to equal educational opportunity for every individual.”

That’s certainly not a federal government responsibility, and where do they get that federal funding that they give to states? Who’s paying for what in that exchange?

With the DoE purpose and funding very much in question, let’s look at what the Department does, like “oversight” or “engag[ing] in federal rulemaking…” or “…creat[ing] federal regulations…”

Don’t you want an unelected bureaucracy, staffed mostly by members of the teachers’ unions, writing rules for your children’s education?

For example, consider that woke curriculum and behavior frameworks gained a rapid foothold on every level within the education ecosystem. How? These regulations, rules, and standards are established by the DOE, and they are also “tasked with investigating alleged discrimination complaints” — federally. They create new categories of infraction — speech codes, for example — then punish resisters with discrimination complaints and legal action. Very effective for influencing behavior.

Bureaucracy always feeds on itself and, ultimately, expands. That is why “rules have recently touched on issues at play in the culture wars.”

Did you vote for that? None of this has to be done, let alone done at the federal level. And this is where CNN finishes the job. Even if someone could make a convincing case for preserving part of the DoE remit at the federal level — and I’m highly skeptical such a case exists — “some of these funding programs could be moved to other federal agencies.”

I mean, yeah. You don’t need an entire DoE to solve for a fringe case funding program.

“about $28 billion a year…accounts for roughly just 10% of all school funding because the rest comes from state and local taxes…also distributes about $30 billion a year to low-income college students via the Pell grant program and manages the $1.6 trillion student loan portfolio.”

    FAFO, FAFSA.

Anyway, that’s how CNN made the case for eliminating the Department of Education. Apply liberally to other federal agencies. — Ashe in America

    1. agreed. most of the funding goes to teacher’s benefits. i was so annoyed when i found out a teacher (relative in the family) gets a 20% discount at Joanns. She is not a home ec teacher–and the discount applies no matter what she buys there. really? WTH? that is a perk they do not need. I could understand it for art teachers–but they have a supply budget like a history teacher for books.

And discounts at salons and oh yeah–when cv was an issue and you were limited to 1 package of chlorox wipes, teachers could get as many as they wanted (presumably because they were using them in their classrooms–but they didn’t have to.

i could go…but the dept of ed needs to go as do teacher’s unions, and federal employees union

  16. Trump Draft Executive Order Would Create Board to Purge Generals

The Trump transition team is considering a draft executive order that establishes a “warrior board” of retired senior military personnel with the power to review three- and four-star officers and to recommend removals of any deemed unfit for leadership.

If Donald Trump approves the order, it could fast-track the removal of generals and admirals found to be “lacking in requisite leadership qualities,” according to a draft of the order reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. But it could also create a chilling effect on top military officers, given the president-elect’s past vow to fire “woke generals,” referring to officers seen as promoting diversity in the ranks at the expense of military readiness.

As commander in chief, Trump can fire any officer at will, but an outside board whose members he appoints would bypass the Pentagon’s regular promotion system, signaling across the military that he intends to purge a number of generals and admirals.

The draft order says it aims to establish a review that focuses “on leadership capability, strategic readiness, and commitment to military excellence.” The draft doesn’t specify what officers need to do or present to show if they meet those standards. The draft order originated with one of several outside policy groups collaborating with the transition team, and is one of numerous executive orders under review by Trump’s team, a transition official said.

The warrior board would be made up of retired generals and noncommissioned officers, who would send their recommendations to the president. Those identified for removal would be retired at their current rank within 30 days. — WSJ

THE $35 TRILLION CRISIS: WHY ELON AND VIVEK’S “DOGE” IS AMERICA’S LAST CHANCE Trump has given Elon and Vivek until July 4th, 2026 – America’s 250th birthday – to radically transform how our government spends its $6.5 trillion annual budget. The timing isn’t random – it’s a calculated deadline as America faces unprecedented fiscal challenges:

    BY THE NUMBERS:

    – Debt doubled to $35.46T since 2015

    – Interest rates jumped to 3.32%

    – Interest payments now exceed $1T annually

    – Debt-to-GDP ratio at critical 124%

The DOGE team will have just 18 months to:

    – Audit $1.72T in Health & Human Services spending

    – Review $1.52T in Social Security expenditures

    – Streamline $1.32T in Treasury payments

    – Identify waste across all federal agencies

Elon’s real-time transparency approach, combined with Vivek’s regulatory expertise, aims to deliver “a smaller Government, with more efficiency and less bureaucracy” as America’s 250th birthday gift.

With interest payments now exceeding our entire military budget ($826B), the deadline reflects the urgency of our fiscal crisis.

The July 4th, 2026 deadline isn’t just patriotic symbolism – it’s a race against time to prevent America’s fiscal collapse.

For the legal Treepers here, there was an important decision out of the DC Circuit Court of Appeals yesterday, Marin Audubon Society v. FAA .

The panel ruled 2-1, that the Council on Environmental Quality (“CEQ”), which is part of the Executive Office of the President, had been illegally issuing regulations for 46 years.

The CEQ was just supposed to be an advisory group, but its “guidance,” when published in the Federal Register, was taken to be regulation. However, there was no enabling statute from Congress giving the CEQ the authority to issue binding regulations. An agency cannot issue regulations unless Congress gives it the authority, since Congress is delegating part of its legislative authority.

So the 46 years of “guidance” is gone. The EPA might re-issue some of the guidance as regulation, but that would be up to Lee Zeldin.

The judges were two Bush41 (!) judges and one Biden. The Biden judge dissented.

I expect an appeal to the whole circuit and maybe SCOTUS, but if there’s no rule-making authority granted to the CEQ, I don’t know how its guidance can stand as regulation.

  21. “Famous squirrel that was euthanized after being taken from home tests negative for rabies”

by MICHAEL HILL | Associated Press, Tue, November 12th 2024 at 7:25 PM

“Peanut, the social media star squirrel at the center of a national furor after it was seized from its owner in upstate New York and euthanized, has tested negative for rabies, a county official said Tuesday.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation took the squirrel and a raccoon named Fred on Oct. 30 from Mark Longo’s home and animal sanctuary in rural Pine City, near the Pennsylvania border. The agency said it had received complaints that wildlife was being kept illegally and potentially unsafely, but officials have faced a barrage of criticism for the seizure. Government workers said they have since faced violent threats.

The DEC and the Chemung County officials have said the squirrel and raccoon were euthanized so they could be tested for rabies after Peanut bit a DEC worker involved in the investigation.

Chemung County Executive Chris Moss said tests on the two animals came back negative during a news conference detailing the county’s role in the incident. He said the county worked with the state and followed protocols.

Peanut gained tens of thousands of followers on Instagram, TikTok and other platforms in the more than seven years since Longo took him in after seeing his mother get hit by a car in New York City. Longo has said he was in the process of filing paperwork to get Peanut certified as an educational animal when he was seized.

Longo on Tuesday said the negative test results were no surprise and criticized the government’s actions. “It’s no real big shocker to me, considering I lived with Peanut for seven-and-a-half years and Fred for five months. I’m not foaming at the mouth,” he said. “I knew the test results were going to be negative.”

The DEC said in a prepared statement there was an internal investigation and that they were reviewing internal policies and procedures.”

Spirit Airlines is preparing to file for bankruptcy protection after merger talks with Frontier Airlines went down the shitter. The Florida-based airline is in final negotiations with bondholders on a restructuring plan to secure the support of key creditors. It owes more than $3 billion. Already this year it scaled back growth plans, layed off staff and has a plan to sell 23 of it’s planes. It is expected that Spirit will file for Chapter 11, a form of bankruptcy that allows it to keep operating as it bids to cut its debts.

Aside from the cramped seats and unruly nickel-and-dime passengers, there’s still a place for a discount airline here. How it’ll save itself is another story.

  24. “Freakout Over Pete Hegseth Is Epic, and It Tells Us Everything We Need to Know”

Red State, By Bonchie | 9:48 AM on November 13, 2024

    AP Photo/Evan Vucci, File

EXCERPT: “Of all the cabinet picks Donald Trump unveiled over the last few days, none has caused more consternation than Pete Hegseth’s appointment as Secretary of Defense. The announcement wasn’t five minutes old before the usual suspects started claiming that he was “unqualified” and “unserious,” gritting their teeth in quenched anger.

To his credit, conservative CNN analyst Scott Jennings faced off against that narrative on Tuesday evening and made short work of it.

That didn’t stop the big brains in the written press from rushing out their hit pieces, though. In what turned out to be an inadvertent endorsement of Hegseth, Politico published an article entitled “Who the f–k is this guy?’: Defense world reacts to Trump’s surprise Pentagon pick.”

    https://twitter.com/yashar/status/1856676554983759895

One assessment was more blunt. “Who the fuck is this guy?” said a defense industry lobbyist who was granted anonymity to offer candid views. The lobbyist said they had hoped for “someone who actually has an extensive background in defense. That would be a good start.”

The pick will do little to quell fears inside the Pentagon and beyond that Trump, who jousted with his own defense secretaries, plans this time to install a loyalist who will unquestioningly carry out his policies. Trump’s campaign trail rhetoric has primed fears that his second term could see a swift and divisive overhaul at the Pentagon.

Trump’s return is expected to bring a collective rollback of Biden administration policies, likely reinstating a ban on transgender troops, ending abortion travel policies, reigniting battles over bases named for Confederate figures, slashing diversity programs and the use of troops on U.S. soil against civil unrest and his political enemies.

Let’s take this in two parts. First, why wouldn’t Donald Trump want to “install a loyalist who will unquestionably carry out his policies?” Are members of the press aware that we have elections in this country? The Pentagon is not a fourth branch of government, though it has attempted to operate as one for far too long. The entire point of electing a president is to see his policies carried out, not to have deep-state apparatchiks calling the shots behind the scenes, making elections largely irrelevant.

The Department of Defense wants to be float above the fray, out of the clutches of accountability. They want people in their club and only their club to garner positions of power because it perpetuates the Pentagon as a self-licking ice cream cone, free of the demands of those pesky voters. “If someone hasn’t been an advisor to Hillary Clinton and sat on the board of Raytheon, how could they possibly be qualified,” they gasp while never considering their multitude of failures.

That brings me to my second point, which I’ll explain momentarily, but is perfectly illustrated by the following post.

“How many “qualified” people with “strong resumes” did it take to pull this off?

“……Of course, we all know what “qualified” actually means to those in power. It means someone who will continue the status quo while undermining any changes Trump may seek to bring about. Well, those days are over, and every DoD official and lobbyist should be scared. They’ve run a once great military into the ground, and now it’s time to pay the price.”

  25. ‘The View’ Spew: Whoopi Whines That She Too Has a ‘Hard Time’ As a Working Person. Just One Problem.

By Mike Miller | 11:26 AM on November 13, 2024

EXCERPT: “Apparently, an apology is in order, y’all. I can only speak for myself, but it appears that I’ve been a bit too hard on Whoopi Goldberg. That’s right. Turns out that the moderator of ABC’s clown show, “The View,” has had a “hard time” over the last four years, too —  just like every other American who “works for a living.”

Just one problem: Whoopi Goldberg is worth an estimated $60 million. She also makes a reported annual salary of $8 million.

While the ladies were discussing the historic blowout win of President-elect Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris, co-host Sara Haines — who said she voted for Harris — was having a hard time understanding why working-class people voted for Trump with the belief that he will make things better for them. “There were millions and millions of people who felt heard [by Trump], and that’s what I’m trying to walk into,” she explained.

Enter Whoopi. Let’s go straight to the horse’s mouth for the sad details.

I’m sorry. When you have one candidate who has been running for 12 years — who lies and changes things — I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me, too. I work for a living. If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here!” [audience laughs]

So, I’m a working person [audience applauds]. You know? And my kid has has to feed her family. And my great granddaughter has to be fed by her parents. I know it’s hard out there. But I also know that there are a lot of things that we just said, ‘Nope, I’m just gonna go this way.’

    Stop the tape.

How can this woman — even considering her Trump Derangement Syndrome — accuse Trump for “lies and changing things,” knowing that lame-duck President Joe Biden has been a serial liar (and a plagiarist) throughout his more than 50 years in the federal government?

And how can she keep a straight face, knowing that Harris has lied about something as ridiculous as working at McDonald’s, much less repeating debunked lies about Trump, ad nauseam?….”

  26. Update —

Following the announcement, Fox News issued the following statement:

“Pete Hegseth has been an exceptional host on FOX & Friends and FOX Nation and a best-selling author for FOX News Books for nearly a decade. His insights and analysis especially about the military resonated deeply with our viewers and made the program the major success that it is today. We are extremely proud of his work at FOX News Media and wish him the best of luck in Washington.”

“I think Trump or @elonmusk are more likely to come on @TheYoungTurks than any Democratic leader. We disagree more with Trump and Elon, but they’re at least willing to have a conversation. Whereas Democratic leadership thinks it’s offensive if you ask them hard questions. They think they’re entitled to positive media coverage and get furious if they don’t get it.”

  28. I want this guy as Press Secretary!!!

EXCERPT: “It’s been a tough time for Democrats, coping with President-elect Donald Trump’s massive election win.

CNN commentator Scott Jennings summed it up pretty perfectly that a lot of this was due to Joe Biden’s failures and the fact that Democrats hid his cognitive issues. All the Democrats who are saying he shouldn’t have run are the same people who, before the debate, were saying he was as “sharp as a tack,” Jennings said.

“…..In between the tears, we gotta let ourselves laugh!!”

“Therapy. Therapy.  We are all going to therapy,” Jones replied.

Why are we here? If you are a Democrat, all we can say is, we hope that Susie [Wiles, Trump’s new Chief of Staff] decides to take a vacation and they hire some terrible people to make some mistakes to give us a chance.

Right now, they have everything. They’ve got the Supreme Court. They’ve got the electoral college. They’ve got the House, they got — probably they’ve got the Senate. They’ve got popular vote.

And we’re just sitting here with a dunce cap on. This time last week we thought we were the smartest people in the world. We thought Donald Trump was an idiot. We thought his campaign made no sense. And it turned out they were smarter than us and we don’t have anything to say to you.

I could sit here and pretend I know something.

Here’s what I know, everybody I know is miserable. Everybody is on these zoom calls. Nobody’s got any good ideas and it’s going to take us a while to figure this out. [….]

I’m not good at coming here and faking and pretending. No, we got whooped. “

Jennings, chuckling, suggested he needed to go to the spa and get a cucumber water. “And a cookie,” Van answered, ending with a playful frown….”

  31. Just The News: “President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that he had chosen Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., to serve as Attorney General

“It is my Great Honor to announce that Congressman Matt Gaetz, of Florida, is hereby nominated to be The Attorney General of the United States,” Trump posted. “Matt is a deeply gifted and tenacious attorney, trained at the William & Mary College of Law, who has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving desperately needed reform at the Department of Justice.”

“Few issues in America are more important than ending the partisan Weaponization of our Justice System,” Trump continued. “Matt will end Weaponized Government, protect our Borders, dismantle Criminal Organizations and restore Americans’ badly-shattered Faith and Confidence in the Justice Department.”

“On the House Judiciary Committee, which performs oversight of DOJ, Matt played a key role in defeating the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, and exposing alarming and systemic Government Corruption and Weaponization,” Trump concluded.”
