Massachusetts State Flower: Mayflower

According to plant folklore, the mayflower plant was the first spring-blooming plant the pilgrims saw after their first arduous winter in the new country. Historians believe that the mayflower plant, also known as trailing arbutus or mayflower trailing arbutus, is an ancient plant that has existed since the last glacier period.

Mayflower Plant Info

Mayflower plant (Epigaea repens) is a trailing plant with fuzzy stems and clusters of sweet-smelling pink or white blooms. This unusual wildflower grows from a specific type of fungus that nourishes the roots. The seeds of the plant are dispersed by ants, but the plant rarely produces fruit and trailing arbutus wildflowers are nearly impossible to transplant. Due to the plant’s particular growing requirements and destruction of its habitat, mayflower trailing arbutus wildflowers have become very rare. If you are lucky enough to see a mayflower plant growing in the wild, do not attempt to remove it. The species is protected by law in many states, and removal is prohibited. Once trailing arbutus disappears from an area, it will probably never return.

How to Grow Trailing Arbutus

Fortunately for gardeners, this beautiful perennial wildflower is propagated by many garden centers and nurseries—especially those that specialize in native plants. Mayflower trailing arbutus requires moist soil and partial or full shade. Like most woodland plants growing under tall conifers and deciduous trees, Mayflower plant performs well in acidic soil. Mayflower arbutus grows where many plants fail to thrive. Keep in mind that although the plant tolerates cold climates as low as USDA zone 3, it won’t tolerate warm, humid weather in USDA zone 8 or above. The plant should be planted so the top of the root ball is about one inch below the surface of the soil. Water deeply after planting, then mulch the plant lightly with organic mulch such as pine needles or bark chips.

Trailing Arbutus Plant Care

Once mayflower plant is established in a suitable location, it requires virtually no attention. Keep the soil lightly moist, but not soggy, until the plant is rooted, and you see healthy new growth. Continue to keep the plant lightly mulched to keep the roots cool and moist.

  1. Morning All!

I didn’t plan it this way…but how great is it that Mayflower ended up in November? LOL
I am a genius (just kidding)

Last evening at Walmart, there was a vehicle plastered with WE DID IT signs with PDJT’s face. it was really cool. And Christmas is in full bloom at walmart. I managed to find some Thanksgiving napkins and paper plates in the aisle with the clearance Halloween stuff.

And i grabbed a container with cherub tomatoes for hubby and went to get a grapefruit when the tomatoes spilled all over the floor. there was a crack in the package i didn’t see–so it was April Fool’s Day too as i picked up and chased the tomatoes…sigh

    1. Morning, Pat! Wheezer was waiting this morning. Temp is 35 and it’s cloudy since I can’t see even one star.

Since my phone is totally dead now, I’m ruminating on whether to just buy one of those pay-as-you-go burner phones since I only use it for calls & texts. Some of those where you just buy the minutes will now roll over the unused minutes instead of losing them at the end of the month, as it used to be. I’m pretty good with computers but NOT cell phones at all. It’s just all too cornfusing!

      1. Morning Filly!
        you don’t have a charger?
I think walmart had those burners…at least those crime dramas hubby was so fond of showed criminals walking into walmart and buying their burner phones there.

        1. Oh, yeah – even my local Family $ carries them. I’ve got various charger cords and could charge it via the USB port on my computer – I think it’s the charger port in the phone that’s bad. It’s been getting worse and worse over time – it’s like it has a short. Up until the last couple of days, I could wiggle the cord and it would start charging; I could also charge it in my truck but that’s not working any more either.

  2. Good morning, Pat and Filly!

Thank you for featuring our State flowers. This post about the Mayflower plant makes me wonder if the flower was named after the ship that brought pilgrims to Massachusetts and the colonies or was the ship named after the flower – and was the flower brought to America from Europe and/or England?

Mayflower was an English sailing that transported a group of English families, known today as the Pilgrims, from England to the New World in 1620. After 10 weeks at sea, Mayflower, with 102 passengers and a crew of about 30, reached what is today the United States, dropping anchor near the tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts on November 21 [O.S. November 11], 1620.”

It was a perilous sea journey:

“In mid-ocean, the ship came close to being totally disabled and might have had to return to England or risk sinking. A storm had so badly damaged its main beam that even the sailors despaired. By a stroke of luck, one of the colonists had a metal jackscrew that he had purchased in Holland to help in the construction of the new settler homes. They used it to secure the beam, which kept it from cracking further, thus maintaining the seaworthiness of the vessel.”

They wanted law and order in the new colony:

“On November 19, 1620 [O S November 9, 1620], they sighted present-day Cape Cod. They spent several days trying to sail south to their planned destination of the Colony of Virginia, where they had obtained permission to settle from the Company of Merchant Adventurers. But the strong winter seas forced them to return to the harbor at Cape Cod hook, known today as Provincetown Harbor, and they set anchor on November 21 [O.S. November 11].

It was before setting anchor that the male Pilgrims and non-Pilgrim passengers (whom members of the congregation referred to as “Strangers”) drew up and signed the Mayflower Compact.  Among the resolutions in the Compact were those establishing legal order and meant to quell increasing strife within the ranks.  Miles Standish was selected to make sure the rules were obeyed, as there was a consensus that discipline would need to be enforced to ensure the survival of the planned colony.  Once they agreed to settle and build a self-governing community, they came ashore.”

    There were many Mayflower ships:

“There were 26 vessels bearing the name Mayflower in the Port Books of England during the reign of James I (1603–1625); it is not known why the name was so popular.”

They established Thanksgiving as an American tradition:

“The American national holiday, Thanksgiving, originated from the first Thanksgiving feast held by the Pilgrims in 1621, a prayer event and dinner to mark the first harvest of the Mayflower settlers.”

This article claims the ship was named after a different plant:

“The plant the English called mayflower back in the 1600s was in fact a plant most gardeners know well today, but by another name: lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis). Widely distributed throughout most of Northern and Central Europe, this plant normally bloomed in early May, which explains part of its botanical name, for if Convallaria means “of the valley,” majalis means “of May.” In England, the “mayflower” was considered the symbol of the month of May.”

“In case you wondered, there is also a plant called mayflower or trailing arbutus native to Eastern North America: Epigaea repens, a creeping woodland plant with upward-facing white to pale pink flowers that in no way resemble the dangling bell-shaped white flowers of today’s lily of the valley. But it was named mayflower at a later date, perhaps by settlers nostalgic for the flower that symbolized spring back in their native land, C. majalis. And E. repens does bloom in May… well, at least in part of its vast territory.” – https://laidbackgardener.blog/2017/05/01/the-mayflower-the-flower-behind-the-name/

Now, I’m wondering if most sailing journeys to the ‘New World’ were scheduled for May – to avoid winter and fall storms – and that’s why so many ships were named Mayflower.

    2. Good morning, GA! It was, indeed, named after the ship:

From Wiki: “The name Mayflower was in tradition given to E. repens by the Pilgrim Fathers after their ship the Mayflower; the plant was abundant where the ship landed at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts. For this reason, it was chosen to be the state flower of Massachusetts. It is also the provincial flower of Nova Scotia. The name Trailing Arbutus reflects its similarity to the trees in the related genus Arbutus, while being much smaller and prostrate on the ground.”

    This is key…
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: “I just want to make this clear. I don’t want to take vaccines away from people. I don’t want to impose my choices on the American public. If vaccines are working for you, you ought to be able to get them. And I’ll make sure that happens. But people should have informed choice. So they should have good science that tells them the cost and the benefits of these products, particularly since they’re being ordered to use them.”

“76 million kids a year are required to use them. and they’re healthy children. So it’s the only medical product that’s given to healthy people. You want a product like that to be extra solid, to make sure there’s no risk, because you can take, you know, there’s certain risks that you’ll take if you’re sick to get better. Of course. But if you’re not sick, and you shouldn’t be required to take a product unless it is iron-clad, unless you know what the… you know, what all the costs and benefits are.”

“And the problem with vaccines is that they were originally introduced by the Public Health Service, which is one of the five military services. That’s why there’s a surgeon general. And the Public Health Service introduced them and pushed them as a national security defense against biological attacks on our country. So they wanted to make sure that if the Russians attacked us with anthrax with some other biological agent They could quickly formulate a vaccine and then deploy it to 220 million American civilians without regulatory impediments.”

“A normal Medical product takes about eight years to get to market because it has to go through double-blind placebo controlled trials And you need to see long-term effects. There are many effects On every medical product that have long diagnostic horizons long incubation periods They didn’t want to go through that because they said it’s going to be a national emergency. So instead of calling it a medicine, we’re going to call it a biologic and we’re going to exempt biologics from pre-licensing safety studies.”

“So there’s no vaccine on that schedule, that 72 vaccines, that has ever gone through a pre-licensing safety study placebo-controlled trial against a real placebo. And that’s wrong because that means that nobody knows what the risk profiles are on these products. And nobody can tell you whether that product is averting more problems than it’s causing.”

“And what I will do, you know, if I’m given this job in the White House, is I’ll make sure that those studies get done, that there are people on the panels that approve these products that are not loaded with conflicts of interest. So it’s real science. disinterested people and that doctors and patients and Americans know exactly what the costs and benefits of every vaccine are and can make a rational decision.”

    Arizona just declared for @realDonaldTrump
, making it a clean sweep of all swing states!

Massive red wave success! It is beyond a landslide, as Republicans won:

    – Presidency
    – Popular vote
    – Senate majority
    – House majority
    – State governor majority
    – State legislature majority

The few states that didn’t go red are mostly ones without voter ID requirements. Must be a coincidence https://abs-0.twimg.com/emoji/v2/svg/1f644.svg

This is an extremely clear mandate from the people for significant change!

I isn’t this case still pending at the Appeals level…and likely to be overturned? Judge Merchan may be just trying to save himself the eembarrassment.

Judge in Trump’s New York Criminal Case Considering Tossing His Felony Convictions

    Excerpt:

I’m told that his legal team is going to try to make sure that sentencing never happens. As we know, their usual strategy is always to just try to get things delayed. But here they’re going to argue to the judge that the sentencing should never happen because now that Trump is president-elect, they will say that he is entitled to the same constitutional protections as a sitting president and should be protected from state actors and in this case, state prosecutors and the judge overseeing that case, Judge Juan Merchan.

He’s giving himself a deadline of November 12th to decide if the conviction against Trump should be tossed based on the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on immunity. If he tosses the conviction, there’ll be no sentencing. But if that sentencing continues to go forward, this is the argument that the Trump team is going to make.

  9. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/harris-gives-concession-speech-one-day-after-trumps-sweeping-victory

Our Take: Vice President Kamala Harris conceded the 2024 race for President of the United States on Wednesday, after Donald Trump delivered a clean sweep of the so-called swing states: Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. He is projected to win Arizona and Nevada as well, though AP News has not yet made it official as I write this.

Harris looked tired and disappointed, but she gave one of the most coherent speeches she’s ever given. That tells me her disappointment is authentic. She’s not as terrible when she’s being authentic. Yikes, did Harris actually think she was going to win?

The VP confirmed that she spoke to President Elect Trump and conceded the race; that she will aid in the peaceful transition of power; and that she will never stop fighting for truth and justice. I recommend declining the second one. Don’t let that Marxist anywhere near the transition.

Interestingly, there were moments where Harris channeled 45: Never stop fighting, the people are powerful, make … the world a better place. I thought she was going to say make America great again, for real. I wonder who wrote her remarks.

Harris told her supporters they have to accept the outcome of the election. Liz Cheney and Joy Behar said the same thing. But blueanons are going through the stages of grief.

    Denial and Anger:

    Bargaining and Depression:

    Even Acceptance:

I look forward to hearing the populists in the Democrat party calling for audits. Harris said to let it go, but why should they listen to her? She didn’t even go through a primary.

Anyway, this is our election system as outlined by Holly at Altitude. This is what needs to be forensically audited. Legitimate elections or bust. — Ashe in America

Our Take: I love this deployment. Dmitry Peskov looks like he was sent straight from Central Casting to star as a Russian character in a 1980’s action film.

It’s worth noting that there is only one foreign country who has sided with America throughout history in every major conflict we have fought, including the American Revolution, and that country is Russia.

I take no exception with Peskov’s stern disposition—we kind of deserve it. But I will laugh at the shade Trump is throwing at the EU, threatening to impose tariffs that mark up their goods 100-200%.

    (Video of Trump talking tariffs)

I will also laugh at this post from BRICS, which felt like a memetic form of grab-ass.

Our Take: As normie pundits dissect the missteps of the Harris campaign, the broader electorate is staring at a smoking gun and coming to terms with the crime.

November 3, 2020 was a coup. January 6, 2021 was the cover up of the coup. The J6 Committee was the cover up of the cover up. It’s insanely obvious in the light of the day after the 2024 election.

    Going around X on Wednesday:

    • 2008: Obama gets 69M
    • 2012: Obama gets 65M
    • 2016: Clinton gets 65M
    • 2020: Biden gets 81M
    • 2024: Harris gets 66M

That’s around 15M allegedly real and totally inexplicable votes that only appeared the one time: November 2020. Now consider that, according to the analysis in this article, Trump initiated a D-Exit. Trump is currently trending below his 2020 total, so where is that indicated in the data? The narrative does not match the data. Obviously.

These 15M votes didn’t just impact the top of the ticket. There are illegitimate outcomes all the way down. For example, in 2020, Colorado “passed” the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC). This means that, once in effect, our state’s electors will go to the winner of the popular vote regardless of how the state voted.

Reminder that Trump won the popular vote on Tuesday. While hilarious — & absolutely fair game for mocking communists in the wake of November 5, 2024 — the NPVIC is not yet in effect. It only takes effect when the participant states reach 270+ votes. They’re currently sitting at 209.

More importantly, the NPVIC violates the 12th Amendment to the US Constitution and should be dead on arrival.

They also passed no-restriction-whatsoever abortion in 2020. On Tuesday, they put it in the Constitution and compel taxpayers to fund it.

Legitimate elections are foundational. Without them, the regime fabricates our consent to subjugate and exploit us. And, there is no way to uncorrupt such thorough, malignant rot. It’s time to demand answers about our US elections and inexplicable election data. It’s time to investigate, expose, and prosecute the corruption.

Get to work. — Ashe in America

    1. Filly, Good morning, and thank you for that insight into the Electoral “College”. It shows that the US of A remains as confused as ever about its electoral process. More important, the US, mentally, continues to exist in LaLaLand, regarding any cohesive values that unite us as a nation. There are many myths about the US’ founding and beginnings. We delude ourselves in believing that our “Commander in Chief” exists as anything other than a
military general, for using his position to fight wars with countries the CIC doesn’t like.
I hope the contributions you and your compatriots make for educating us all will inspire some deep thought about how the US of A wants to present itself to our fellow World Members.

Our Take: Oh, gee, I wonder why the Deep State is suddenly so eager to have a bromance with MBS. Let’s take a look.

I did really like this part of the article:

As a candidate, Biden ran on a platform of holding the Gulf Kingdom responsible for the killing of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the Saudi slaughter in Yemen that claimed around 400,000 lives.

While the Biden administration announced some restrictions on weapon sales to Saudi Arabia, which were later lifted, top US officials sought to expand the Donald Trump-era Abraham Accords with Riyadh. The Accords are a series of agreements where the US promised arms and other benefits to Muslim nations that normalized their relationship with Israel.

Israeli journalist Barak Ravid (whom President Trump regularly uses to do interviews and deploy his own narratives in Israel) recently reported that the Biden administration is working on a security agreement that wouldn’t involve a deal with Israel. (Meaning normalizing relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.) This is a narrative that has been cooking for quite some time, and frankly, it seems like it’s still a frozen block. The shot clock has effectively run out.

Now Trump is stepping in to flex on his historic Middle East peace deal, and his brother-from-another-mother, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is absolutely giddy that the Golden Amadeus is returning to the White House. And MBS has already flexed on the Deep State by holding joint naval drills with Iran, while the Crime Syndicate gaslights a war with Iran.

It’s cute that the Deep State thinks it can come in and steal the girl. You dorks get nothing.

“When First Lady Jill Biden went out to vote on Election Day wearing a MAGA red pantsuit, she knew exactly what signal she was sending. Every outfit she has worn for the past four years has been chosen deliberately, knowing that cameras record her every public outing for posterity.

So, when the seething wife of the president who was stabbed in the back by his own party chooses to wear the color of the opposition on the very day she enters a voting booth ostensibly to vote for the disloyal Kamala Harris, it’s meaningful.

You can’t really blame the Bidens for being sore. Joe Biden was the Trump slayer, succeeding where Hillary Clinton had failed after she muscled Joe out of the party nomination in 2016. Then they muscled him out again. He was almost invisible on the campaign trail and was a no-show at Harris’ election night party.

You just know Scranton Joe believes he would have done better than San Francisco liberal Harris. Maybe he’s right, even with his cognitive failings, corruption, and the baggage of his woeful presidency. He can’t have been happy to read in the New York Times that one of Harris’ best friends, billionaire widow Laurene Powell Jobs, was instrumental in circulating the polling data among donors that killed his chances of hanging on as candidate after his disastrous debate performance.

How else to explain his occasional subtle acts of sabotage during the campaign, when he upstaged his protégé.

At least First Son Hunter Biden kept out of the limelight, although he reportedly has become a sought-after novelty guest at Hollywood parties ahead of his sentencing next month in two felony cases.”

Truth be told, we benefit as much as the people either seeking an audience to tell their often traumatic tale or who just need a place to get away or stay in because of either publicity, (foreign or domestic) government harassment, or financial pressure.

It is a joy to meet so many heroes on this journey from the COVIDcrisis to our new president and political reality!

Anyway, Ben and his family showed up on our doorstep at the end of June, 2024. After listening his story, I asked him to please write it up and offered to publish it. This week, Ben sent me his essay, which is excellent. A compelling account of what has gone so very wrong with American corporations over the past few years.

Ben’s story of being fired for his personal beliefs is not unusual. It is happening to Americans of faith every day across this nation. This is why we elected Trump. We have all had enough. Only Trump’s administration can fix this, but we all need to publicize that this is happening. That people getting fired for faith is happening everywhere, and without alternative media, no one would even know it is happening.

I have included an audio version. So below is Ben’s story – Please share it far and wide.”

  19. …sigh…OK – I’ve got to get moving and get this phone situation rectified. Skies are clear and it’s warming up a little bit, at least. I’ve got other things to get @ WM – hopefully, one of their whiz kids can help me….I think I can switch the SIM card to a new phone, saving me from having to re-enter my contacts. I hope so, anyway. I do NOT want to have to do that again and there are some that I don’t have written down, like the furnace repair guy.

      1. OK, then….smh….that took sooo long, mainly because I decided to just throw in the towel and go back to Verizon. I was with them for a long, long time in the past, including when I first moved here, so I know I’ll get good reception. They also have a local store in Norfolk where I can get help if I need it.

And😲😲😲😲I now have a smart phone…..yep, I did it, in spite of vowing that I never would. I get a $25/mo discount because I’m a veteran and I got the phone for free – all I had to pay was the tax on the phone. It’s still about $5 more than Patriot Mobile but worth it to have them relatively close for service.

A very nice young Hispanic man assisted me (19-20) – we enjoyed talking – he was born in TX but his parents are from NE, so they moved up here. He mentioned wanting to travel and thought it would be cool to visit Japan, maybe even live there. I said I had never had any desire to visit any other country except Egypt. Of course, he asked why so I told him about the Egyptians in NOVA 10 days after 9/11 – sadly, IDT he even knew what I was talking about! But he enjoyed some of my stories about them and I even saw another clerk (slightly older man) chuckle as he walked past us after listening to me talking about HB not getting “my Egyptians” arrested.

He even told me that he was having fun talking to me – he thinks I’m a “riot!” ROFL

    1. Speaking of Fauci…..

EXCLUSIVE: As private citizen, Dr. Fauci received $15 million taxpayer-funded security detailOpen the Books uncovers unprecedented agreement with U.S. Marshals.

OpenTheBooks and Jordan Schachtel, Nov 07, 2024

EXCERPT: “For the past two years, Dr. Anthony Fauci has received $15,000,000 in taxpayer-funded security services – despite having returned to private citizenship. Open the Books discovered the arrangement within a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the U.S. Marshals service and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) via a Freedom of Information Act request.

Up until at least late September, this agreement between the two government agencies has left the American taxpayer on the hook for the costs attached to Dr. Fauci’s lifestyle, which included a publicly-funded chauffeur and a fully staffed U.S. Marshals security detail. The $15 million does not include the costs associated with his personal security from April 2020 to December 2022, which was handled by the same parties  while he was still serving in government.

Fauci’s security has been a topic of discussion on cable news and in the halls of Congress, but until now, the details of the secret agreement had not been made public.

According to the MOU, protection was available from January 4, 2023-September 20, 2024. The $15 million covers in part:

      • Salaries and benefits for deputies and administrative personnel assigned to Fauci’s protective detail
      • Costs related to transporting Fauci
      • Law enforcement equipment

The MOU states that the contract could be extended, and it is unknown if it has been. We asked the Marshals Service for clarification, and they did not get back to us within our deadline. We will provide an update if they respond.

The former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), who retired in December of 2022, was one of the most influential figures in America and throughout the world during the coronavirus era. Nearly ubiquitous on cable and broadcast news, Fauci became the face of America’s pandemic response.  His supporters often spoke of him as a man of uncontested knowledge, consistently labeling him the world’s foremost “public health expert.”

But his detractors recall a government official who led the fight to implement years-long draconian restrictions upon the American people, which devastated the fabric of U.S. society, greatly harmed the economy and caused all kinds of additional negative repercussions – including widespread learning loss among America’s youth. Fauci was never shy to advocate for lockdowns, social distancing, school closures, business closures, mask mandates, and vaccine passports from his powerful federal perch during the COVID-19 pandemic…..”

Casey first won election in 2006. McCormick’s triumph comes on the waves of President-elect Donald Trump once again flipping the state red on Tuesday evening, after the state flipped blue in 2020.

  26. “Why America Chose Trump”

    Clandestine, Nov 07, 2024

“Democrats, if you’re wondering why America voted for Trump, allow me to explain:

The truth is, the American People are sick of your shit.

You ruined our nation and our culture. You openly mocked, belittled, and discriminated us, then called us racist, misogynist, Nazis when we started noticing.

You defiled and corrupted all of our great institutions, to include the media, social media, tech, academia, intelligence, health, pharma, Hollywood, entertainment, sports, EVERYTHING! You weaponized every aspect of American life, and used it to push your insane far-Left agenda down our throats.

You told us Trump was a Russian asset that was going to start WW3 and would be worse than Hitler. Then you used that as an excuse to justify hatred towards Trump supporters and to riot in the streets. You used it as an excuse to obstruct and ruin Trump’s entire first term, and it turned out it was all a lie.

Then during Covid, you demanded we all be forced to take medical experimentation without testing. You wanted dissenters locked in prison. You wanted children taken from their anti-vax parents. You wanted the anti-vax in camps. You were rooting for our deaths. Then it turned out you were wrong about everything from the man-made origin, to masks, to vaccines, to social distancing, to ivermectin, to HCQ, to natural immunity, and everything in between.

Then during Ukraine, you told us that Ukraine was a bastion of Democracy, and that they desperately needed all of our tax dollars. Then it turned out that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt nations in the world, with literal Nazi military forces, and it was actually just a money laundering operation to steal from the American taxpayer. You want to defend Ukraine’s borders more than our own. You sent hundreds of billions of dollars on the other side of the planet, while Americans are suffering, all based on more lies.

Then there’s the whole Epstein, Diddy, human-trafficking element. You all told us VEHEMENTLY that human-trafficking was a myth, you told us the border was secure, and you told us that anyone who questioned it was an irredeemable conspiracy theorist. You said anyone who watched “Sound of Freedom” was a QAnon extremist and threat to democracy. Then it turned out to be true, and the elites really are engaged in unspeakable crimes against children. After you all told us for decades this was not true. You covered up the most heinous crimes imaginable, for political gain.

I could do this for days, but I think you get the point. The American People are awake to the scam and the true evil going on around us, and we are not going to stand for it anymore. So we hired Donald Trump and his team of Patriots to rectify the situation, and bring America back to her greatness.

This is the reality of the situation. You are the bad guys, and you have been deceived. The sooner you wake up to it, the sooner you can join us in repairing this nation. Or you can choose to deny reality, and spend the rest of your lives consumed by hate, based on lies.

    The choice is yours.”

  28. Vaccine ‘Quietly’ Pulled Off Market in 2007 Now Linked to 19 Diseases — 35 Million Babies Who Got the Shot Now at Risk as Adults

The thimerosal-free HibTITER pediatric vaccine marketed by Wyeth (since acquired by Pfizer) from 2003 through 2007 was linked to 19 medical conditions, according to a study by Children’s Health Defense scientists. The peer-reviewed paper was published Tuesday in the International Journal of Risk and Safety in Medicine

    by Brenda Baletti, Ph.D., November 7, 2024

EXCERPT: “The thimerosal-free HibTITER pediatric vaccine marketed by Wyeth from 2003 through 2007 was associated with 19 different medical conditions, according to a study published Tuesday in the International Journal of Risk & Safety in Medicine.

The conditions include life-threatening side effects at rates “significantly higher” than other Hib vaccines. The study, by Children’s Health Defense (CHD) researcher Karl Jablonowski, Ph.D., and Brian Hooker, Ph.D., CHD chief scientific officer, compared adverse events among children who received HibTITER to those among children who received other Hib vaccines.

Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) is a bacterium that can cause illnesses ranging from ear infections to pneumonia to meningitis. Vaccines for Hib in young children were first licensed in 1987. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends Hib vaccines for infants at age 2 months.

Wyeth, now Pfizer, sold HibTITER from the time it was licensed in 1990 until 2007. In 2003, the company reformulated the vaccine to remove thimerosal, a type of mercury, after public outcry over the dangers of mercury in vaccines.

In 2007, Pfizer “quietly” pulled the reformulated HibTITER vaccine off the market, Hooker told The Defender — a move he said was concerning, in light of the vaccine’s “relationship to many adverse events in children.”

To assess those adverse events, Jablonowski and Hooker analyzed data from 277,484 children between 2003-2007 — when the thimerosal-free HibTiTER was available — using the publicly available Florida Medicaid database.

They corroborated their findings by analyzing data for the vaccine from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a passive public reporting system jointly administered by the CDC and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The researchers identified medical conditions for infants vaccinated with any Hib vaccine within 30 days of the shot. The Medicaid data revealed 19 different diagnoses associated with HibTITER at frequencies significantly higher than those associated with other Hib vaccines. They also verified 14 of those diagnoses in VAERS.

The adverse events, ranging from mild to life-threatening, included respiratory, gastrointestinal, dermatologic and generalized infections; ear, nose and throat medical contitions; and other conditions.

None of the serious or even life-threatening conditions identified were listed as possible adverse events on the package insert for HibTITER.

The authors’ findings “have profound medical implications for the estimated 35 million Americans between the ages of 16 and 33 who received the vaccine,” they wrote….”

  29. EXCERPT: “Joe Scarborough, the host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” had to be updated on the cost of butter, and the reality shocked him and prompted him to question whether or not it was packaged in gold.

If ever there were a microcosm of how out of touch elites in the media are, this is it. The conversation on the show began with Joe relaying a story about a Kamala Harris supporter who had just come from the grocery store and, based on the price of butter, could only conclude that Donald Trump was poised to win the election.

“A few weeks ago, somebody who was going to be voting for Kamala Harris came up to me and said, ‘Oh my God, Trump’s going to win,” Scarborough began. “I went to the grocery store butter is over $3.”

The host said he “kinda laughed” at the simplicity of the argument, saying it was “reductive” to himself while pretending to lend credence to the shopper out loud.

At one point, Mika Brzezinski chimed in to let her husband know that the $3 estimate was rather … generous. “It’s $7,” she interrupted. “I’m just saying it’s seven.”

“Butter is $7?” Scarborough, whose net worth is estimated at $25 million, asked in a shocked tone. “What, is it framed in gold?” Scarborough went on to concede that inflation and the resulting cost of goods were a major factor in deciding the election….”
