Goldenrod is a native North American perennial wildflower that is tall and slim with fluffy golden flower spikes in various shades of yellow. Once regarded as an invasive weed, goldenrod is increasingly valued by gardeners thanks to cultivars that offer better performance and more attractive flowers. Goldenrod grows best in any sunny location, survives well in average or even poor soil, and thrives in temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Goldenrod Care

    Here are the main care requirements for growing goldenrod.

    Plant goldenrod in the spring or fall, choosing a sunny location with average soil.

    Stake the taller varieties so the plants don’t flop and bend. 

    Water young goldenrod plants weekly to keep soil moist until established, then only supplement in drought.

    Do not overfertilize; goldenrod does not need fertilizer at all.

    Light

    Goldenrod craves full sun for optimal flowering. The plant will tolerate a bit of shade, though a shady location can reduce its blooms.

    Soil

    Goldenrod is not overly picky about soil but it must be well-drained with a pH in the acidic-to-neutral range. This plant can tolerate sandy, rocky, and clay soils. Very rich soil can cause the plant to become leggy and potentially flop over.

    Water

    Water new goldenrod plants weekly to maintain damp, but not soggy soil. Mature goldenrod plants are drought tolerant and rarely need supplemental watering except when rainfall is scarce.

    Temperature and Humidity

    The hardiness range varies a bit depending on the species, but most goldenrods thrive in USDA cold hardiness zones 2 to 8, taking heat and cold weather in stride. Goldenrod isn’t fussy about humidity, either.

    Fertilizer

    Fertilizing goldenrod is typically not necessary because the plants do well in lean soil conditions. However, if the soil quality is poor or you wish to give your plants a boost to increase their height, add a layer of compost in the spring.

    Too much fertilization often leads to floppy green growth and reduces flower production.

    13. holy cow! we’ve got about 14-15 deer running around here this morning. one spike buck and one small six pointer, loads of does and some real small ones. the bucks tried mounting some of the doe, but they were not interested yet and cuffed them…lol

          we try even rut season to capture some of the big bucks on film, but they’re cagey.

    15. this is despicable. a 20 yr old man killed 9 deer–buck, doe, fawn, didn’t matter. shot them with a bow and arrow just to kill them. he just left the carcasses there to die–didn’t take any meat from them.

      he was hunting without a license. the season is open but you need a license and you need to take the meat otherwise you will be charged with “wanton waste of a big game animal”. And you are only allowed one.

    27. The city hall in downtown Springfield, Ohio, was closed on Thursday after city officials claimed a bomb threat was made to multiple facilities in the area.

      Springfield has been thrust into the national spotlight because of reports that Haitian migrants in the city are allegedly stealing and eating pets. City officials have denied the reports, stating that there has been no “credible” allegation that a migrant has eaten any pets. 

      City officials said they were notified of the threat through an email on Thursday morning, and have since evacuated the area as a precaution. The credibility of the threat is not clear, but the Springfield News Sun reported that the threats included complaints about the Haitian migrants.

      “Due to a bomb threat that was issued to multiple facilities throughout Springfield today, City Hall is closed today,” the city wrote in a post on Facebook. “As a precautionary measure, the building has been evacuated, and authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation. Our primary concern is the safety and well-being of our employees and residents. We are working to address this situation as swiftly as possible.”

      No update on the situation has been given so far. 

      Officials have also evacuated students from Fulton Elementary, and closed Clark County buildings, including all drivers license bureaus in Clark County, because of the threats.

      “Based on information received from the State Fire Marshal, Fulton students were evacuated from their building to Springfield High School this morning,” Fulton Elementary officials said. “Students and staff are safe; however, the district is in the process of a controlled release to safely dismiss students to their parents.”

    28. Just The News: “Congressman Jim Banks, R-Ind. slammed the Department of Defense over a military training session that labelled pro-life organizations as terrorists. 

      According to Banks and Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., an anti-terrorism brief was held on Fort Liberty where certain pro-life groups were labeled as “terrorist groups.”

      The organizations in question included National Right to Life and Operation Rescue, according to a press release.

      “The DOD taught nearly ten thousand soldiers stationed at Fort Liberty that pro-life organizations, like the National Right to Life, are dangerous terrorist groups,” Banks said in a statement. 

      “It’s downright ridiculous to claim the slide deck doesn’t ‘further a personal viewpoint,’ but there have been no consequences for the employee who ran anti-life training sessions at Fort Liberty that clearly violated Army policy,” he continued. 

      According to the release, this training was used between 2017 and early 2024.”

      There are over 400,000 ineligible voter records on the GA rolls – Elias and Raffensperger clearly want to keep it that way.

      This does not look good for a win in GA. Raffensperger who is suppose to be a Republican teaming up with Democrat hack Marc Elias. The same Marc Elias that hired Fusion GPS to fabricate the Steele dossier for Hillary Clinton and the same Marc Elias who fought to have ballot stuffing boxes back on the streets of Wisconsin.
      Seems Kemp has not had a change of heart and still wants Trump to lose.

      EIGHTY PERCENT

      The way that this network has seized control of the labor market of the United States is easy enough to understand. Firstly, it has positioned itself as a way to remove recruiting costs for employers.       If an employer needs nurses, janitors, programmers, police or literally any kind of worker the network can provide them to employers at a lower rate of pay than what an American citizen would require due to not having access to the same welfare benefits.

      These globally sourced scab workers don’t require health insurance and have all living expenses subsidized by federal programs. If the typical American had all their health, food, and housing costs covered they would also be able to work for a fraction of their existing wages.

Then again, the wind is probably helping to keep the temp down but the sun isn’t nearly as strong now – even with full sun all day and no wind, my A/C hasn’t come on for a couple of weeks now.

Ethan ate an entire bag of dog food yesterday while we were trying to get Katie down from the top of the china cabinet, and Chandler threatened to run away. And that was just the stuff that happened before breakfast!”

      Becky reluctantly agreed. “It’s not that I don’t want them home all day,” she said. “It’s just… they’re like animals. Wild, uncivilized, unpredictable animals. Homeschooling is all the rage, and those Instagram moms make it all look so easy, but… I don’t know what else to do. Maybe shipping your kids off to be educated at a military boarding school that is basically a minimum-security prison will be the new thing. We can start that trend!”

      ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Ukraine is essentially a giant CIA base, posing as a sovereign nation. The CIA moved into Ukraine after the fall of the Soviet Union, looking to take advantage of the lawless and destabilized country, using it as an offshore proxy, outside the scope of US oversight.

      It began with the Nunn-Lugar Act in 1991, and then carried on into 2005, when then Senators Obama and Lugar visited Ukraine, to inspect the former Soviet bio, chemical, and nuclear facilities (pictured below), and then added Ukraine to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and began turning these former Soviet facilities into “defensive research facilities,” which opened the door for US contractors to establish their foothold in Ukraine, and set up their money laundering and racketeering operations, under the guise of “foreign aid.”

      Then the CIA funded Nazi militant groups in Ukraine which led to the outbreak of civil war in 2014 in the Donbas. Amidst the chaos, the US State Department, via Victoria Nuland, leveraged the situation to install US-loyal puppets, including the infamous leaked phone call between her and fellow State Department bureaucrat Geoffrey Pyatt, about ensuring “their guy” Yatsenuik, was installed as Prime Minister. The State Department, in tandem with the CIA, covertly took control of Ukraine via Color Revolution in 2014.

      Putin recognized this. He knew that the US had destabilized and taken control of Ukraine, and recognized that the US were building a proxy army on his border, by funding, training, and supplying Ukraine with weapons, and trying to bring them into NATO. This was a red line for Putin, as he has said for decades. Russia have been invaded from the West too many times before, and will not tolerate a hostile standing army and long-range missiles on their border. Just like the US didn’t like it when Russia tried to put nukes in Cuba in the 60’s, Russia doesn’t like the US trying to bring armies and weapons to Ukraine.

      Essentially, Ukraine is an unofficial US territory and NATO member, and the Deep State do not want to lose out on their cash cow and strategic asset that is Ukraine, hence why they continue to send hundreds of billions of our tax dollars to protect Ukraine’s border. They are using Ukraine as a laundry mat to funnel in hundreds of billions for the war machine, and also covering up their extreme criminality in Ukraine, including crimes against humanity for bioweapon development, human trafficking, drug trafficking, etc. All the things they can’t get away with stateside, they do in Ukraine.

      If the public knew the truth about the origins of US involvement in Ukraine, they would NEVER have supported sending a single penny to Ukraine. The narrative that Russia attacked Ukraine in 2022 “unprovoked”, is war propaganda to make it appear Ukraine are the righteous defenders in order to garner your support, when in reality, The US started this conflict, they are the ones who brought war to Putin’s doorstep, and the US are the ones perpetuating the war by continuing to fund and supply Ukraine.

      Putin does not want to conquer all of Europe, he just wants NATO off of his border, and justice for US development of weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine, namely, gene-specific biological weapons.

      The Cold War never truly ended.”

        and i do not think Putin is wrong. he was guaranteed that nato would never encroach on their borders. they gave up the high ground when they went back on their word.

      More dirt coming out of Springfield, OH, this time in the “ballots vs. voters” department. A progressive Ohio group called Black Fork Strategies is under investigation – sounds like they got caught in a voter fraud operation.

      “The office’s Election Integrity Unit recently concluded an investigation into the origins of an illegal voter registration form translated into the Haitian Creole language. The Clark County Board of Elections reported this form to our office after rejecting its submission by a local applicant.”

      Director of investigations for the Secretary of State’s Public Integrity Division, Hun Yi, said in a memo:

      “The Board confirmed they’ve only received one of these unauthorized forms, but they rightly recognized it as illegal and worked with my team to track down its source with the help of a county government assistance office.”

      “The form was erroneously included among others outsourced to a foreign language translation service. It garnered national attention considering the high number of Haitian refugees that have recently migrated to the Springfield area, and it serves as an important reminder that boards and designated voter registration agencies should be vigilant about the use of forms submitted to their office,” Yi added. (The article also outlines other instances of ballot fraud by this group, including a “stack of registration forms” with identical handwriting submitted by a Black Fork canvasser.)
