  1. Good morning, Miss Pat.

Oh man – that apple pecan cake looks so good – I love dense moist cakes – much more than the fluffy ones. Same way with bread – I like dense chewy bread – not the wonder bread white bread.

Thanks for the recipe – and it would be easy to substitute a few ingredients and make it for Sally Q who has diabetes (Type 1.5 – ketoacidosis prone) due to her Friedreich’s ataxia disease. I could also make it into muffins so it would be divided into portions.

Weather here will be rainy for the next while – “Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 5pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. High near 84. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.” – expecting over an inch during the next week – and we needed it. FL has wild fires when we have over a week without rain and it gets dry. FL WILDFIRES – https://ffs.firesponse.com/public/ – http://fireweather.fdacs.gov/wx/fdi-report.html

      1. For Sally – I’d substitute half to 2/3 of the flour with Almond Flour and maybe part of it whole wheat flour and wheat germ, and substitue most of the sugar with Monk’s fruit sugar.

What are your projects for the weekend?

        1. do you find the almond flour and the Monk’s fruit sugar at local grocery stores? health food stores?

    1. Morning, Pat! Same old/same old here – usual drill with Wheezer. Only 55 this morning w/clear skies – only supposed to be highs in the low 70’s for a few days before a week or so of high 80’s, then back into the 70’s again. Typical see-saw fall weather.

BREAKING: A Democrat organization named Poder Latinx just got BUSTED registering voters outside a DMV in Phoenix, Arizona, without requiring proof of citizenshipThey tell voters they only need to show a driver’s license to register to vote, which DOES NOT prove citizenship. My good friend Vlad from @ANN_News92 went to a DMV to acquire an Arizona driver’s license and was greeted near the entrance by volunteers from Poder Latinx who wanted him to get registered to vote. When he asked them what he would need to register, they told him he only needed an Arizona ID because, according to them, only U.S. citizens can get driver’s licenses in the state. Vlad immediately called them out because their claim was simply FALSE and dangerousIf you ever wonder why there are over 40,000 registered voters in Maricopa County who have failed to provide proof of citizenship, NOW YOU KNOW!

This is the real danger to our Democracy…

Over 40,000 voters who haven’t proved their US citizenship will be voting this November

Also, I just want to correct that Maricopa County’s number is over 27k, and 42,301+ is the statewide number

People need to go to jail

Pray for Arizona’s elections because only a miracle will stop the cheating. The SAVE Act is now more important than ever before

No wonder Arizona has tens of thousands of non-citizenship verified voters. It must be because county recorders are allowed to accept thousands of voter registration applications while not doing their due diligence to verify the individual’s citizenship by comparing it against AZMVD records

  4. shooter’s father arrested for purchasing the gun for his then 13 year old (illegal in the state)

    FTA

Colin Gray, 54, is being charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children, GBI said. The 14-year-old shooting suspect has been charged with four counts of felony murder.

GBI Director Chris Hosey said at a news conference Thursday night that the charges against Colin Gray stem from “knowingly allowing his son to possess a weapon.” He was in custody and being held at the Barrow County Detention Center, officials said Thursday.

Georgia does not allow minors to own guns. State and federal law also would prohibit the teenage suspect from buying a handgun, rifle or shotgun.

    coling-gray.png
Colin Gray Barrow County Sheriff’s Office

His son, a student at Apalachee High School, allegedly killed four people, two students and two teachers, when he opened fire at the school in Winder, Georgia, on Wednesday morning. Nine others were wounded and hospitalized, but they were all expected to survive and “make a full recovery,” Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said Thursday. Hospital officials said Thursday that at least seven of those nine patients had been treated and released, and at least one other remained hospitalized in stable condition.

Police and federal agents were investigating if the weapon used in the shooting, described by officials as an AR-style weapon, was purchased by the teen’s father as a gift for his son in December 2023, according to four federal law enforcement sources close to the investigation.

In May of last year, the suspect and his father were both interviewed by the Jackson County Sheriff’s office after the FBI received tips about online posts threatening a school shooting, the FBI said in a statement Wednesday night. At the time, investigators didn’t have enough evidence for an arrest or enough probable cause “to take any additional law enforcement action,” the FBI said.

According to reports from the Jackson County Sheriff’s office released Thursday, the then-13-year-old claimed he deleted the Discord account the threats were made from because it kept getting hacked.

In the incident report, a deputy reported that the teen “assured me he never made any threats to shoot up any school.”

Local police records obtained by CBS News indicate the alleged shooter’s parents were going through a divorce at the time. His mother took custody of two other children in the divorce while the suspect stayed with his father, the records show.

The alleged shooter is being “handled” as an adult, officials said Wednesday, and his first court appearance was scheduled for Friday morning.

  5. PA Election law requires a signature and DATE on the envelope for a ballot to be accepted. Democrats sued the 2 largest counties in PA (the rest of the 67 counties don’t count? don’t matter?) saying that dating an envelope to vote causes undue burden on a voter. A Commonwealth court agreed. RNC is appealing the decision for numerous reasons.

    FTA

Lyons referred to several of the core arguments presented by the RNC, including that the Commonwealth Court lacked original jurisdiction because the ACLU and the rest of the petitioners named Schmidt as the only defendant in the case. They did so despite the fact that his office “lacks any authority to enforce the date requirement,” and is therefore not an “indispensable party to the only form of relief Petitioners seek: an order enjoining ‘enforcement’ of the date requirement.”

The ACLU meanwhile did not include as defendants 65 county boards that are responsible for enforcing the date requirement, the appeal states. Those two realities, the RNC argues, require the state supreme court to throw out the case without even addressing the issues brought by challenging the law itself.

“In its eagerness to address the merits, the majority dashed past procedural defects barring it from wading into this dispute in the first place,” the appeal states.

While the lower court decided to apply strict scrutiny to a challenge involving the Pennsylvania Constitution’s Free and Equal Elections Clause, the RNC argued that the opinion of the lower court itself actually violated that clause because, in not including 65 of 67 counties in the lawsuit, the decision only blocks Philadelphia and Allegheny counties from “strictly enforcing” the date requirement.

The order, the appeal argues, has “no effect on the other 65 county boards, which remain bound to enforce the ‘mandatory’ requirement. The Order thus does not ‘treat[]’ Pennsylvania voters ‘alike’ or ‘the same way under similar circumstances,’” in violation of Pennsylvania’s Constitution and state election law. “Nor could strict scrutiny apply because, if it did, the Clause would imperil every ‘reasonable, non-discriminatory restriction[]’ the General Assembly has enacted ‘to ensure honest and fair elections’ in Pennsylvania,” the appeal added.

The RNC argued that the lower court’s decision preempted the authority of the state legislature to control election law, in violation of the U.S. Constitution and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, which wrote, “While the Pennsylvania Constitution mandates that elections be ‘free and equal,’ it leaves the task of effectuating that mandate to the Legislature.”

  8. I’m sooo confused…..

Just The News: “For the second time in one day, Hunter Biden changed his plea in the federal case centered on nine tax charges ahead of the jury selection that was set to begin Thursday.

This morning, the first son abruptly changed his “not guilty” plea to an Alford plea, a type of guilty plea in which he would acknowledge prosecutors have enough evidence to convict, but does not admit wrongdoing while accepting sentencing from the judge. But after opposition from prosecutors to the measure, Biden changed his plea to a standard guilty plea this afternoon, per CNN.

U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi has now accepted the plea, and the first son will be sentenced in Los Angeles on Dec. 16.

A grand jury originally returned an indictment on three felony tax charges and six misdemeanor charges last year. Hunter Biden previously pleaded not guilty to the charges in January.

The major reversal came shortly before jury selection was set to begin and followed a private meeting between his legal team, led by lawyer Abbe Lowell, and Judge Mark Scarsi of the Central District of California Thursday.

The prosecutors led by Special counsel David Weiss objected to an Alford Plea from Biden. “I want to make something crystal clear–the United States oppose an Alford plea,” lead prosecutor Leo Wise said. “Hunter Biden is not innocent. Hunter Biden is guilty. He is not permitted to plead guilty on special terms.”

The trial was set to bring some of the more salacious and embarrassing details of the first son’s “extravagant” lifestyle back to the forefront as prosecutors seek to show Hunter Biden’s state of mind as he spent wildly on pornography websites, strip clubs, and drugs while allegedly failing to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes.”

  9. Good! She should NOT have any roll in the Trump admin!!!

Just The News: “Former Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley has accepted a new job in the private sector, at the global communications firm Edelman, the company announced on Wednesday.

Haley, who finished in second place for the Republican nomination for president earlier this year, will be serving as a Vice Chair at the firm. Haley previously served as the ambassador to the United Nations during former President Donald Trump’s presidency, and was the governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017.

“Politics has become a critical consideration for clients in brand marketing, employee engagement and reputation management,” Edelman CEO Richard Edelman said in a statement. “In her time as Governor, Haley had great success in attracting foreign companies to South Carolina and as Ambassador to the UN, helped lead important work on global issues.”

Haley, who endorsed Trump for president during the Republican convention in Milwaukee this summer, said she was “excited” to work with clients at Edelman and help them navigate the complexities of the modern business and political world.

“In a time of growing complexities in business, policy, and politics—brands need to anticipate what’s coming next,” Haley said. “Whether managing a crisis or celebrating a success, industry leaders must be ready to communicate clearly and share their vision forward. I’m excited to join the team at Edelman to help their clients navigate the challenges ahead.”

Haley previously told Fox News’ Bret Baier that Republicans should focus their messaging on their policy ideas rather than attacking their opponents and bragging about the size of their crowds.

“You can’t win on those things. The American people are smart. Treat them like they’re smart,” she said. “It’s not about [Vice President Kamala Harris]. It’s about the American people. Talk to them and let them know you need their vote.”

The new hiring is surprising considering Trump previously indicated that Haley would work in his administration in some capacity should he return to the White House next year.

Edelman also announced that former Montana Democratic Sen. Max Baucus, who also served as the ambassador to China during former President Barack Obama’s second term, will be serving as a senior advisor to the global communications firm.

Haley and Baucus are expected to begin their new jobs later this month.”

  10. EXCERPT: “Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, whom you might know is running as Kamala Harris’ running mate for the Democrats in a certain election happening in 60 days, is getting called on the carpet by a GOP-chaired congressional committee over a damning report that recently exposed a Minnesota Education Department fraud scheme aimed at defrauding the state of $250 million in funds meant to feed children during the COVID pandemic. The cabal appears to include not just a non-profit based in the 10,000 Lakes state, but officials from various levels of government–including a member of the Biden administration cabinet.

As my colleague, Susie Moore shared in a brief capsule as part of this morning’s Thursday news prep piece:

….[T]he House Education and the Workforce Committee has subpoenaed Minnesota Governor (and Kamala Harris running mate) Tim Walz to produce documents and information regarding the Feeding Our Future COVID-19 fraud scandal.

Now thanks to the subpoena request from the committee focused on America’s education system, we have a bit more knowledge to pass along on what is being alleged against the man who could become our nation’s next vice president:

The Minnesota-based Feeding Our Future (FOF) has been accused of misusing $250 million in taxpayer funds that were meant to go to hungry children.

The federal government has charged more than 70 people associated with the nonprofit, and five of them have been convicted of fraud. The group allegedly submitted the names of fake children receiving free meals during the pandemic.

The Hill’s report (linked above) also includes the individuals the lawmakers want to hear from, which (besides Walz) include Biden Agriculture Department Secretary Tom Vilsack, Agriculture Inspector General Phyllis Fong, and Minnesota Commissioner of Education Willie Jett….”

  12. “Secret Video: Manhattan Attorney’s Office Spokesman Says Bragg’s Case Against Trump is ‘Nonsense’”

PJMedia, Robert Spencer | 5:02 PM on September 05, 2024

    AP Photo/Eduardo Munoz Alvarez

EXCERPT: “It has been obvious right from the beginning that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump was a half-baked mélange of wild exaggeration, unwarranted conclusions, and legal sleight of hand, all in pursuit of allowing Bragg’s fellow Democrats to intone sanctimoniously that Trump was a “convicted felon.”

In a refreshing twist, however, now a top spokesman for Bragg’s own home base, the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office, has admitted as much, calling Bragg’s case “nonsense.” As of this writing on Thursday afternoon, the poor fellow is not yet looking for new employment, but he may be soon.

Nicholas Biase, the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office’s chief spokesman, didn’t mean to out Bragg as a corrupt, politically motivated destroyer of our legal system. He did so in a private conversation with a woman who turned out to be an undercover operative for podcaster Steven Crowder. Instead of impressing his date, Biase ended up on Crowder’s “Mug Club,” ripping into his boss in front of the whole aghast world.

The too-outspoken spokesman has, of course, now apologized and backtracked, but the damage is done. Nicholas Biase showed himself, however inadvertently, to be capable of independent thought. Although he has rushed back to the leftist reservation and pleaded to be allowed to remain there, whether his masters will treat him mercifully or cast him into the outer darkness remains to be seen.

Crowder posted thirteen minutes of Biase talking with his date on social media Thursday. Bragg, according to Biase, was “just stacking charges and rearranging things just to make it fit a case.” Biase also says, at various points in the video, what he thinks of the case against Trump: “Honestly, I think the case is nonsense.” “It’s a perversion of justice.” “It’s a travesty of justice.” “It’s a mockery of justice.” As if that weren’t enough, he adds that “the whole thing is disgusting,” and observes, “That’s why he [Trump] is surging in the polls.”

    (Video)

The New York Post reported Thursday that Biase “said he’d known Bragg for 15 years and previously worked with him at SDNY,” that is, the Southern District of New York. After this, however, it’s unlikely that Bragg will take Biase along to his next job, particularly since Biase ascribed Bragg’s determination to get Trump no matter how much he had to bend the law to do it as a manifestation of the prosecutor’s overpowering ambition.

“He wants to be something,” Biase said. “A mayor? I’m not sure what he wants to be, but I know he’s not happy just being the DA of New York County. Before he decided to prosecute Trump, did you know who he was? You do now.”

That’s true. And while Bragg’s name is more infamous than famous and he will go down in history as one of the destroyers of the republic, his legal persecution of Trump is quite popular, even taken seriously in leftist circles. He may indeed end up in some political office, but if he does, that would also be a sign of the deep illness of the American body politic these days.

Now that the video has come out, Biase is, of course, deeply sorry. He insists that “he made the remarks in a private setting with someone he’d ‘just met’ and was trying to ‘impress.’” Biase certainly isn’t the first man to try to impress a woman by casting his work as tremendously important and interesting. Still, how could he have thought that being critical of his boss and saying things that cast Donald Trump as the victim in the legal proceedings against him could possibly impress someone in New York City?

Biase even went so far as to criticize another politically motivated Trump persecutor, Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan, for the likelihood that he will imprison Trump in a couple of weeks over his own flimsy case. “This guy is probably going to try to lock him up,” Biase said. “And there is going to be, it’s going to be ugly… They are so obsessed with getting him.”

When his date asked him who was so obsessed with getting Trump, he answered, “The Democrats … It affects his candidacy if he’s a convicted felon.” Biase didn’t think this would work: “Those felonies did nothing to stop Trump from running … In fact, they made him more relevant.”

New York State Attorney General Letitia James also got low marks from Biase for her civil fraud case against Trump: “Every real estate person in New York does what he did. Nobody’s ever been charged with this … You know, it’s a perversion of justice.”

Yes, it is. And it’s good of Nicholas Biase to be able to acknowledge that, even in what he thought was a private conversation. That he would have to apologize for doing so is an indication of just how much trouble the nation is really in.”

  13. “Sen. Kennedy: We Need ‘Idiot Control'”

    Bearing Arms, By Tom Knighton | 8:30 PM | September 05, 2024

    AP Photo/Alex Brandon

ENTIRE ARTICLE: “Every time some mass murder happens, someone will invariably call for restricting the rights of those who had nothing to do with what happened. The argument, at least as presented, is that if we had more gun control then the killers couldn’t have gotten the kind of guns they used and if they couldn’t have gotten those, then the murders wouldn’t have happened.

It involves some very selective memories to hold onto that thinking, of course, but here we are. And a lot of Republican lawmakers seem hesitant to punch back at these calls out of concern for seeming callous or insensitive.

Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana, however, summed it up perfectly on Newsmax recently, though.

Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., argued against the need for more gun control laws Wednesday during a recent interview on Newsmax, stating that the real problem lies in “idiot control” following a tragic school shooting in Georgia that left four people dead.

In light of a tragic school shooting in Georgia that claimed the lives of four people, Kennedy appeared on “The Record With Greta Van Susteren” to express his opposition to the possibility of liberal cries for new gun control legislation. Kennedy said that the U.S. does not need more laws regulating firearms but instead must focus on addressing those who abuse their rights under the Second Amendment.

“It’s horrible. We’ve had a number of mass shootings this year,” Kennedy said. “I don’t think the answer is more laws. We’ve got hundreds, maybe thousands of gun control laws on the books. I don’t think we need more gun control. What we need, obviously, in my opinion, is more idiot control.”

Kennedy went on to explain the difficulty of managing individuals who act out in violent ways, stating that it is almost impossible to control people who are mentally unstable or inherently evil in such a large country.

“I don’t know how to control people who are sick or just evil in a free country as big as the United States of America, over 300 million people,” he said. “You can just do the best you can.”

Now, “idiot control” isn’t a serious policy proposal, but it touches on where the problem really lies. It’s a people issue, not a gun issue.

If you take away every avenue for obtaining a gun–something that’s impossible, by the way–then you simply make the violent look elsewhere for ways to kill people. In 2016, a terrorist used a truck to kill 86 innocent people. That’s more people killed than at the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in Las Vegas where the killer had AR-15s equipped with evil bump stocks.

By focusing on the guns, you’re ignoring that the common denominator in all mass murders is the mass murderer. That’s where we need to devote our efforts. That’s who we need to be addressing.

It’s not an answer to take away one method of mass murder and just pretend that mass killings of other sorts are perfectly acceptable. I say this as someone who has felt the loss from a mass shooting. I’ve been there, but I wouldn’t have felt better if they’d been killed in a truck attack or a mass stabbing. The problem then was not the tool but the tool using it.

That’s the problem now and what the problem will be tomorrow.”

  14. “After Motorcade Involved In Fender Bender, Tim Walz Adds Purple Heart To Resume”

    Politics · Sep 5, 2024 · BabylonBee.com

    Article Image

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Democrat Vice-Presidential candidate Tim Walz has just added another distinguished award to his already impressive military resume. According to sources, the battle-hardened veteran awarded himself a Purple Heart after his motorcade was involved in a fender bender yesterday.

While sources say that the incident was “relatively minor,” as Walz had accidentally bumped into a parked car, the Minnesota governor decided it was a good enough opportunity for him to spiff up his military career just a little more.

“I, Tim Walz, for my outstanding bravery and courage in the face of suffering slight back pain as a result of rear-ending another person’s parked car, do hereby award myself the Purple Medal for Distinguished Valor or something,” Walz reportedly intoned, gazing balefully at the damage with his best grizzly veteran’s face. “In recognition of my service, I would like to offer myself my sincerest congratulations and best wishes. Science bless America. Communism is the answer. Thank you all.”

The move has sparked immense pushback from military servicemembers and families, who protest that Walz’s action “cheapens the priceless sacrifices that our soldiers have made by stealing valor for political ends.”

However, CNN has bravely refuted these deluded souls by publishing a fact check which states that Walz is, in fact, allowed to wear a heart which is purple if he so desires, especially in the light of his brave service in guarding the rear of his comrades in Iraq by staying in Italy himself.

At publishing time, Tim Walz had also awarded himself a Combat Medical Badge after administering a bandaid to himself after receiving a papercut.

ARLINGTON, VA — Official FBI sources recently stepped forward to apologize for the Bureau’s tardiness in stopping a school shooter, as they were all wrapped up taking care of a few dangerous pro-life protestors at the time.

Agent Jim Dolon, who is tasked with tracking and stopping mass shooters, said that the Bureau was really, really backlogged sorting through all the dangerous pro-lifers when the school shooting happened.

“I’m gonna be honest — my bad,” Dolon said, shaking his head. “But do keep in mind that we almost had that shooter. We were so close — we just had to catch and imprison a bunch of dangerous pro-life people who were doing horrible, dangerous things like praying outside of abortion clinics. It’s really a shame, but we did have to get those guys first. Priorities, am I right? Besides, you don’t want a bunch of dangerous pro-life supporters running around or voting or anything like that. Cut us some slack, will you?”

Agent Dolon also confirmed that the FBI had been totally planning on getting around to the school shooter as quickly as humanly possible, but they’d needed to finish cleaning up Jan. 6 grandmas, dangerous Trump-supporting babies, and your uncle Steve who drives an F-150 with conservative bumper stickers on it.

At publishing time, Jim Dolon had also admitted that the FBI was slowed down getting to the school shooter because he was an FBI asset.

  17. Huh….showing the Father in court – he’s rocking back and forth in his chair…wonder if he’ll try to go with some kind of insanity plea…..I see it as trying to manipulate everyone in the courtroom into thinking he has “mental” issues…..

        1. After eating my own peaches, the ones from the store just taste so bland….the only peaches that taste as good as mine are the ones people here buy every summer from CO. Lois usually shares a crate with some friends and I can usually get a few from her, if I want.

So, expedited development of robotics capabilities for automated fast food joints happens. Being developed in the same state that has raised minimum wages to $20 an hour. Planned?”

  21. “The meme above should read: “Dear Government” – not “Dear Plexiglass.”

Point well taken… If plexiglass worked to stop aerosol transmission – shouldn’t gloves, a Tyvek suit, and disinfectant have been used in between each and every customer? Given the fears of public health personnel, wasn’t it more likely chance that the cashier being “Typhoid Mary” and causing rampant disease, than the other way around?

It always felt to me like that plexiglass was there to protect the checker, not the customer – when, in fact, it should have been the other way around. And in order to protect “us” – the vast majority of people entering into a retail establishment, they would have had to do a heck of a lot more than a sheet of plexiglass.

But besides all that, the overblown fear of this disease – was just that. Fearporn. Disaster Cronyism. Psychological Bioterrorism. None of this was needed. Was this all group think by public officials? Or… was this all fearporn? Put on for the benefit of the public?

  23. “Gov. Pillen targets ‘fake meat’ in new executive order, seeks total ban on sales in 2025”

Nebraska Examiner, By: Zach Wendling – August 29, 2024 2:49 pm

(Gov. Jim Pillen, center, hosts a news conference at Oak Barn Beef in West Point announcing new regulations and future legislation to crackdown on “fake” or “lab-grown” meat in Nebraska on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024. Behind him are, from left: Hannah Klitz, co-owner and co-operator of the family led Oak Barn Beef; Jeanne Reigle of Madison, a livestock producer and 2024 legislative candidate; and Director Sherry Vinton of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. WEST POINT, Nebraska — Gov. Jim Pillen and the Nebraska Department of Agriculture announced new regulations Thursday against “lab-grown meat” or “fake meat,” with Pillen eyeing 2025 legislation to prohibit the sale of such products within the state.

On top of new regulations, standards and the potential legislation, Pillen signed an executive order Thursday that prohibits state agencies from procuring lab-grown or other meat alternatives. The order also requires entities that contract with the State of Nebraska to promise not to discriminate against natural products in favor of laboratory or cultivated meat producers.

“We’re being proactive and making sure that silly things aren’t happening, because they are happening on the Coasts,” Pillen said, speaking at Oak Barn Beef, a local family beef operation. “If we sit back and wait until the grocery stores are full, that’s not the way we want to lead.”

    Labeling regulations

Nebraska Agriculture Director Sherry Vinton said her agency will be launching new labeling regulations “simply to protect consumers from being misled.”

Similar to recent regulations in Iowa, manufactured protein or lab-grown meat would be required to be clearly and distinctly separated from “natural, real meat” under the future regulations and be labeled as such with a conspicuous and prominent label, Vinton said. Standards will also be developed to determine when manufactured food, cell-grown or lab-grown meat is being falsely advertised or misbranded, she said.

Pillen’s family owns a major hog operation in Nebraska. He and University of Nebraska-Lincoln officials have highlighted that the livestock industry contributes more than $6 billion to the state’s economy each year.

    Banning ‘fake meat’ sales

In May, Florida and Alabama became the first states to outlaw the sale of meat alternatives, and Pillen seeks to hold true to a promise he made that month that Nebraska would join the list. When Nebraska sued California and the federal government over new emissions rules in May, Pillen said the Cornhusker State can “play that game, too,” when it comes to state regulations….”

  24. Just The News: “Justice Juan Merchan on Friday delayed former President Donald Trump’s sentencing in Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s hush money case until after the presidential election. Originally set for Sept. 18, the sentencing will now take place Nov. 26, Reuters reported.

Earlier this year, a jury found Trump guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with a 2016 payment his then-attorney, Michael Cohen, made to Stormy Daniels. Merchan initially set the sentencing date for July 11, but delayed it until Sept. 18, before again postponing proceedings.

The case is next set to witness a hearing on Trump’s claims to presidential immunity in light of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling. Trump has asked Merchan to toss out the guilty verdict, arguing that evidence and testimony from the trial should have been covered by immunity.

That hearing is set for Sept. 16.”

CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES ARE NOT PART OF CONGRESS

Congressional Committees allow territorial members (e.g.- Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, et. al.) to vote, but they cannot vote on the House floor. Political Parties require the Chairman and Ranking Member to pay an annual fee to serve. Under Article I, Section 5, Congress must keep a journal of their votes. Committees keep their records separately, and are therefore not a part of Congress.

When a subpoena is issued by the House for someone to appear before a Committee, that is unconstitutional. For example, Steve Bannon was subpoenaed to appear before the January 6th Committee. Congress cannot subpoena you to appear before a Committee any more than they can subpoena you to appear before the Chamber of Commerce. Congress can only subpoena you to appear before Congress. Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro should appeal their convictions.

If Steve Bannon wins his case on appeal, he is free, and the illegal subpoena system ends. If he loses, then the Court has ruled that Congressional Committees are a part of Congress. This means territorial members can no longer vote, and Political Parties can no longer require fees to hold the Chairmanship, or Ranking Member. It is a win-win for the American people.

Congressman Massie talks about this at the 20:00 mark. I extrapolated what it means above.

    Thomas Massie and Nicole Shanahan.
This was a great conversation and should be used as one of the compasses for where we are headed. https://t.co/8aEnNrbYZp
