Found singly or in pairs over rubble and sandy areas of coral and rocky reefs. These nudi’s can drop cerata when disturbed, these are sticky and carry on moving around presumably as a form of defense!
They feed on algae.

Opisthobranchia – Nudibranchs – Sea Slugs meaning “naked gills” are mollusks without a hard shell.
All opisthobranchs are hermaphrodites.
These beautiful slugs are usually brilliantly colored and this in itself can act as a deterrent against predators. Some sea slugs secrete acid from stinging cells in their tentacles while others secrete acid from cells in their mantle.
Nudibranchs are slow moving, can swim or be propelled along either by muscular contraction or by millions of tiny hairs on the bottom of a fleshy ‘foot’, they have a voracious appetite and feed with a rasp like tongue.
Nudibranch lay their eggs in a ribbon effect on the sand, in different colors depending on species.

    nature is amazing, isn’t she? I saw this slug and thought my goodness it’s beautiful…what IS it?
    and it’s just a slug…but nature made it special!

    we have cool temps this morning, but same hazy sky. It rained pretty good last evening though so we didn’t have to water the garden.

    1. Good morning, Pat! When I think of a slug, that image certainly doesn’t come to mind. Gorgeous! Wheezer showed up about a half-hour after I got up and opened the patio door. She sat waiting for her tuna, then let me pet her briefly while she ate it before backing up. I let her be and she finished the tuna, then hunkered down near the door, no doubt considering whether to come inside or not. She chose not to, ate some dry food then departed. Super humid this morning and 64 – the heat is returning, unfortunately.

      ENTIRE ARTICLE: “When President Joe Biden began his campaign trip in Las Vegas last week, everything seemed to be running as smoothly as it could for an 81-year-old president in physical and cognitive decline.

      The day before he abruptly left town, Biden delivered the keynote address in front of a packed crowd of almost five thousand people at the NAACP National Convention at the Mandalay Bay hotel.

      On Wednesday, Biden was scheduled to deliver the keynote at the UnidosUS annual convention at the MGM Grand, with thousands in attendance anticipating his arrival. With the venue located right off the Las Vegas Strip, the president’s security detail and motorcade required massive outside support from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

      President Biden did not appear at the convention, or any of his scheduled events later that afternoon. Instead, he left town, departing Las Vegas on Air Force One for Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where he remains today.

      Since that trip to Las Vegas, President Biden has announced over social media that he would not seek a second term as president, while throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination. President Biden has not been seen in photos or on video since he touched down in Delaware Wednesday night, though he did participate in a phone call with Kamala Harris earlier this evening.

      The president’s communications staff and doctor said that the president had tested positive for Covid-19, declaring that it was the reason for the cancellation of his schedule and his change of plans in Las Vegas.

      Dr. Kevin O’Connor, the president’s White House physician (and a family business partner), said Biden “presented this afternoon with upper respiratory symptoms, to include rhinorrhea (runny nose) and non-productive cough, with general malaise,” signaling that the president had nothing more than cold-like symptoms.

      We are told a very different story. We have verified that several of the core elements in Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s viral X post from Monday are indeed true, according to law enforcement sources.

      The Dossier obtained independent testimony from over half a dozen law enforcement officers who participated in the president’s security detail, and others who spoke from firsthand knowledge of the incident that unfolded that day. For this story, we worked with Turning Point Action to secure the testimony of several sources and vet their legitimacy.

      Officers working the president’s detail describe that Wednesday as chaotic from the very start. President Biden was already way behind schedule before the incident. Several sources said things really went haywire after he had been present at a famed local Mexican restaurant called Lindo Michoacan, where he was doing the rounds shaking hands and greeting donors.

      Then suddenly, when he was supposed to be scheduled to deliver the UnidosUS speech, all hell broke loose.

      Several law enforcement officers on duty that day were informed over the radio that the president was dealing with an unspecified medical emergency. Far from a case of the sniffles, this was sent out on encrypted police airwaves as if something akin to a five-alarm fire had broken out.

      Our sources estimate that it was “easily” hundreds of Las Vegas Metropolitan officers and employees who heard the broadcasts live, so a curious media shouldn’t have a problem reporting any follow-ups to this story. The dispatches made clear that this was much more than a mere change of plans, because it set into motion so much of their on-duty emergency response apparatus.

      Radio dispatchers responsible for coordinating with the president’s detail requested an immediate “surge” of law enforcement resources into the area, both to secure the vicinity and to expedite the president’s movement.

      According to these law enforcement sources, the president’s motorcade was initially planning on heading to University Medical Center (UMC), which was located about two miles up the road from the president’s position. Police answered the call, rapidly deploying their “in the box” emergency squads to faciltate the reroute to the hospital.

      While researching for this story, we found that the local NBC affiliate KSNV confirmed last week, without much publicity, that UMC “was on standby after being alerted about a possible medical issue with President Joe Biden Wednesday afternoon while he was visiting Southern Nevada.”

      But the president’s team decided not to bring him to the hospital. The plans changed in rapid succession once more. It was then relayed over to on duty officers on the president’s detail that they would need to clear an express route to Harry Reid International Airport. The police assigned to the president’s detail and the emergency “in the box” squads then redeployed their resources to getting the president out of town as fast and as safe as humanly possible.

      Emily Goodin, the senior white house correspondent for The Daily Mail, reported that on the journey back east, Air Force One “flew so fast the plane shook,” arriving in Dover in just 3 hours and 48 minutes.

      Several of the officers we spoke to said this was indeed being reported and acted upon as a full-blown medical emergency, insisting that a simple positive Covid-19 test would not have warranted such a drastic, massive response.

      Only President Biden and his inner circle seem to know the truth about what exactly happened last week in Las Vegas. Hopefully, the public will be made aware of the events that necessitated his emergency departure from Sin City.

      2. I rarely have my A/C set for less than 80 and most of the time, it’s on 82. I use all other methods first: covering all the windows, including the window on my front door, which I also close, with the only light (w/a cool bulb) next to my computer. When it starts warming up inside, I angle a fan on the patio and close the door far enough that it blows directly on me, pull the blinds on the doors. Last night was an exception, tho, since there was zero breeze coming thru the doors/windows and it got really stuffy, plus I’m warmer when I’m sleeping. I generally don’t turn on the a/c until it’s at least 90+ outside.

          1. Well, I doubt it’s possible for you to cover all your windows/doors to block the sun so that makes sense. I usually end up dripping with sweat if it’s too warm at night – I could deal with 65 at night easy.

    I am pleased to see that Kamala continues to have the political instincts of a defective Hillary Clinton clone, and is advised by a team of mental invalids straight out of an Ivy League gender studies program.

          We is holding on here. Sally Q’s health is stable, but her emotions are really labile – crying one minute, angry or laughing and silly another. I’m back at the Village for a while until I get the grout color down on the bathroom floor. Before I put down the color, I want to give it another good scrubbing with the Zep acid cleaner. I want that color to really penetrate. Then that cures for 2 days and a clear sealer goes on, and that has to cure another 2 days. We’ll see if it works/takes/lasts a long time like they promised.

    Just the News: “(The Center Square) – Giving Americans $1,000 per month makes them worse off, says a new three-year, 3000-participant study. The National Bureau of Economic Research’s massive study found recipients and their partners work and earn less, with the negative effect on wages and earnings getting worse over time.

    While proponents of universal basic income theorized such programs would improve non-economic metrics for recipients, the study surprisingly showed only leisure time increased as recipients spent less time on sleeping, child care, community engagement, caring for others, and self improvement. Transfers also reduced recipients’ non-transfer incomes significantly, with the study finding “for every one dollar received, total household income excluding the transfers fell by at least 21 cents, and total individual income fell by at least 12 cents.”

    “The takeaway from the best study done so far about UBI in the United States is that handing out money isn’t the solution to all our problems,” said Daniel Di Martino, a economics researcher and graduate fellow at the Manhattan Institute, to The Center Square. “ In fact, sometimes it makes things worse.”

    The study’s authors noted mean-tested welfare encourages recipients to cut hours “to preserve benefits,” leading to advocacy for “unconditional cash transfer programs” without these distortions that would also allow individuals either to look for and secure higher-quality work or spend extra time on “productive non-work activities.”

    Participants’ individual incomes declined $1,500 per year relative to the control group, excluding transfers, participants’ labor force participation was two percentage points lower, participants and their partners worked approximately 1.4 hours less per week. Participants spent their extra time on leisure, did not improve their quality of employment, and did not improve human capital investments such as training.

    During the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries, lawyer Andrew Yang garnered national attention with his proposal for a $1,000 per month “Freedom Dividend,” claiming UBI “encourages people to find work” and “increases entrepreneurship.”

    This study found “participants exhibited more entrepreneurial orientation and intentions” but that “this did not translate into significantly more entrepreneurial activity” as “very few people have the inclination to become entrepreneurs in general.”

    Di Martino also shared his opposition to blanket UBI, noting the study did not address concerns about inflation, while also remaining open to unconditional cash payments replacing some welfare programs.

    “It’s important to remark that this study doesn’t look at the macroeconomic impact of UBI which would raise inflation and affect interest rates if implemented nationwide,” continued Di Martino. “Now the question that’s more interesting is if the almost null effects of UBI are better (or less bad) than those of our existing welfare programs and whether it might be a good idea to replace them.”

    Proponents of means-tested income programs also celebrated the results, noting that giving cash payments to all individuals, even those who don’t need it, doesn’t make sense.

    “Unconditional cash transfers have a much bigger impact if they are directed toward those who truly need the money,” said UpTogether CEO Jesus Gerena to The Center Square. “Giving cash to people with higher incomes through UBI diminishes the economic benefits individuals from socioeconomically disadvantaged communities receive from the cash payments.”

    Some American states are considering adopting UBI programs. Last November, California became the first state in the nation to pilot a UBI program with $1,000 monthly payments to foster youth in Ventura County and $1,500 monthly payments to foster youth in San Francisco.”

    TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD/Gray News) – An Arizona man has been arrested after his young son’s body was found decomposing on a couch inside the family’s home. According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Joseph Gregory Antonsen, 38, is facing charges of negligent homicide and child abuse.

    Deputies said their investigation started when they went to a Tucson-area home for a welfare check. A 9-year-old boy was found dead sitting up on a couch in the home. Investigators said the boy had been dead “for an extended period of time.”

    Antonsen told investigators his son became ill on July 12, and he was going to take him to see a doctor, but instead of doing so, he left the home for two days with the body inside.

    According to police, the 38-year-old told deputies his son was “shuttering and going limp” and claimed that his son did not have a pulse and was not breathing. Antonsen also admitted that he should have called someone, police said.

    The department said the home was cluttered with piles of garbage around and near the couch with empty beer cans, soiled diapers, rotten food, bottles of urine, and lots of insect activity, including spiders.” According to the interim complaint, the home also had no running water or working toilets.

    A neighbor told KOLD that she had not seen the young boy in about a month. She said Antonsen and his son kept a garden on the side of their home, but their time outside became less and less frequent over the last few months.

    “His son was really cute. He was a really friendly kid,” the neighbor said. “He was very polite. He was a lot friendlier than his dad.” The news of the boy’s death came as a shock to the neighbor, who said she had to break the news to her daughter, who used to play with him. “She would always be so excited to run across and go hang out,” the woman said.

    A different neighbor told KOLD she thought the home was abandoned because she never saw anyone coming or going.

    The boy’s body was already decomposing when it was found, court documents said. According to investigators, Antonsen is solely dependent on his parents, who live in Panama, and he is considered a flight risk. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.”

    .I’d actually kind of forgotten how Harris was the one getting people to help bail out the rioters who were burning down our cities. .

    I don’t care who she slept with. Don’t care about her laugh, I am not going to dehumanize her or disrespect her based on her personal life. Who doesn’t have a past and she is grown. Don’t care if she is too Black for some and not Black enough for others.

    My decision not to even consider her is based solely on the following:

    – She created a bail fund for rioters in 2020 who destroyed cities to push a political agenda. That is terrorism and she helped them skate instead of condemning them.

    – She supported two propositions in CA that exacerbated crime and made it incredibly difficult to for law enforcement to stop crime. As well as No Cash Bail, even against the will of California voters. Which also put Californians in danger.

    – She was tasked with solving the border crisis. She only went to the border because she was pressured and all she did was peek at it to find “root causes”. Which is progressive code for “I ain’t gonna do&nbsp about this.”

    – She engages in race baiting and fear mongering. Which lets me know she has zero solutions to the many issues American’s are facing right now.

    – She is even farther left than Joe Biden.

    That’s why. I don’t believe she is ready to lead and her politics will slide America further down the crapper.

    Not because she is a woman. I would gladly and without pause vote for a woman for president. Some of the greatest leaders I ever worked for were women. Just can’t vote for this one because of who she, is not her gender.

    Has nothing to do with her race. I’m always proud when I see Black people elevate. I don’t just want any Black person. I don’t care about color when it comes to leadership. I just want the leader best capable to lead

    Cheatle testified before the House Oversight Committee on Monday where she faced major criticism from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle over the Secret Service’s handling of security at the outdoor campaign rally where Trump was shot.   42. I’m so excited!!! Finally, I’ve got fruit on my lope vines – TONS of fruit!!! At least 15-20!!! They’re no bigger than a dime right now but when they get big enough I’ll take a picture. Jason showed up to mow just as I was fiddling with the vines and I asked his wife if they liked cantaloupe – she said they did so they’ll be getting some! She offered me tomatoes in exchange since she grows them but I declined since I can’t eat them anyway.

    Admittedly, I experienced a modicum of fear when I saw Marco Rubio and Tim Scott on the shortlist.     These onlookers see Trump as perpetually oscillating between two opposing impulses. On the one hand, there is the Donald Trump of 2016, who conducted his campaign with a relentless and unwavering commitment to subvert and overturn the dogma of not only the Democratic establishment, but the Republican establishment as well. But then you also have the Trump who filled his presidency with a litany of traditional Republican operatives who were mostly pro-establishment.

    Naturally, everyone’s wondering what course a second Trump presidency will take. Given the options that were seemingly on the table—and I’m referring to the short list floating around the last month or so—I personally saw Vance as being indicative of a the direction I’m hoping Trump will go in…..”

    Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., has introduced a resolution “strongly condemning” Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance as President Joe Biden’s border czar.

    The resolution, which she introduced on Tuesday, formally condemns the Biden administration for 9.7 million illegal immigrant encounters nationwide taking place since January 2021.

    The resolution highlights that top border officials said they hadn’t spoken to Harris during their tenure.

    “Whereas former United States Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz stated that during his two years in the position,” read the resolution, which includes quotes from Ortiz.

    ‘‘I’ve never had one conversation with the president [Biden] or the vice president [Harris], for that matter. I was the Chief of the Border Patrol, I commanded 21,000 people. That’s a problem,’’ he reportedly said.
